WHICH not to be ungrateful like obviously I still appreciate#anyone who follows and interacts with my posts. I dont mean it in a 'grrr fuck all of you imbeciles I wish I could delete my blog!!!' or#whatever hhjkjk.. I just mean it more in a like.. I am very socially inept and my mental illness gives me severe social issues so any situ#tion where I'm expected to self promote or network or interact with others generally is nightmarish and stressful for many many reasons#and if I could somehow skip that part and just go straight to being a famous author or somethin.. that would be cool. Which I know EVERYONE#hates networking and stuff but I mean like.. on a level most people could not possibly comprehend.. I am not just an 'introvert'. I am like#doctors declare me incapable of functioning in general society very poor mental health prognosis probably should have a caretaker at#some point type Hermit lol.. ANYWAY ghbhj... alas.. I also feel weird about the sculptures in terms of what to charge for them#and always have which is part of why I stopped selling them. If I charged a fair even like $15 an hour many of them would be like#close to $150+. and nobody is going to pay that for a decoration. that doesn't even factor in like.. supplies or time spent communicating/s#etching the concept (if a commission) etc. etc. I thought it'd be better to just auction them then and let people pay what they want inst#d of a set price but etsy doesnt allow auctions and is it weird to just.. link people to an Art Ebay or something lol..#AAAANYWAY.. the outfit.. I still love these shoes. they're nice and a little Older Style looking. always into pastel florals too lol#(everything is thrifted as usual. excited about the shirt because it's so puffy! it was in the halloween section though ghjhj.. like when i#s october and they make the special aisle in goodwill for 'Costume' clothes even though theyre all just normal stuff I would wear ghg)

#rich people are insane across the board#it could be that the author is just presenting one side of elizabeth holmes now (about 65 pages in) but i would hope not as his bio says#he's an investigative journalist#but this lady's whole thing comes down to 1 from a rich family with powerful connections 2 charismatic but also fires people for not being#100% behind her 3 being so enthralled with other powerful people and businesses to the point of regularly cosplaying steve jobs#like yes maybe she was very smart in school idc about that and i care less when a bunch of her opportunities were handed to her via family#but also if you idolise sleekness and glamour to this lady's extent i just dont think youre very smart lol

one of the most annoying things about being a math teacher is just how little other teachers understand about what you’re actually trying to do in your classroom
#nothing has pissed me off more than when someone is like 'well why don't you just xyz in your classroom' ALGEBRA 2 DOESNT WORK LIKE THAT#'real world connections' 'exploratory learning' 'continuity between lessons'#algebra 2 is literally just a hodge podge of the most obnoxious formulas you've ever seen in your life thrown at you with no rhyme or reason#and all the math is either a supremely abstract extension of stuff you already learned or its such a preliminary pre req to the actual math#needed to do a thing that there is like No real world scenario that's not an extremely forced stretch#tell me the real world connection for the imaginary numbers unit that my kids can understand without having first learned about like fuckin#matrices or diff eqs or gd vector physics#theres Nothing its literally just silly mind games#which like *i* think is cool. about 3 of my 65 students think its cool#the rest are like god in heaven save me and you know what i dont really blame them

The sound test room is in fact very much used, it has a 50% of substituting the fishing rod room in snowding if you fun value is set to 65! (I think you need to fight Papyrus first?)
seriously?? i fully thought it was one of those things you had to mess around with the files to find. huh. well, even so, it's a pretty rare room- you need one specific fun value to get it, and even then it's just a 50% chance (and if you need to fight papyrus first and then backtrack, that makes it even less likely people will find it), so i doubt it would get a direct, on-the-nose reference. i think it could still show up, though- i feel like you could conceivably put it in deltarune and give it its own scene in the story so that even players who don't know of it in undertale can experience it as its own thing, and fans who do know it can have the added experience of knowing it's a reference.
that's one thing i've been pondering in relation to gaster as well for some time- the fact is that most deltarune players know who he is, most undertale fans will go into deltarune knowing who he is, he's a pretty popular mystery, but... you can't guarantee everyone will know who he is if he shows up on screen without context. if he says some shit like "ah yes, you know who i am, now at last we meet" or whatever, there's a significant chance that less online utdr fans, like younger fans with more restricted access to the internet, won't have a clue what he's talking about. toby can guarantee that deltarune is mostly only played by people who have completed undertale, but he can't be certain they'll know everything about gaster, and if gaster plays a big role in later chapters, it'd be kinda unfair to just... leave them out of the loop. of course i've had a lot of fun thinking about a late-game sequence in the style of undertale's waterfall history plaques or new home exposition dump where maybe the gang's walking through some hall with either signs telling them the story of gaster or gaster himself speaking to them from somewhere else and then at the end they (and we) finally see him in person... the vision in my head is sooo cool would that i could visualize it somehow <3 but alas i cannot draw or program </3 but anyway! i went off on a tangent there. that's something i didn't know about the sound test room! thanks :)

A crazy thing is that The Boy In The Box case has been on my mind all week this week and they've apparently just found out his identity. I don't know why I was thinking about this case so much but finding out this news, I'm so fucking happy. I was literally thinking about it yesterday and today like 'I wish they could give that kid justice. I wish they could just find out who he was' and they finally might be able to. Not full justice as I'm sure his killers are likely dead by now, but after 65 years that boy will finally have his name be known. In my mind, he will finally be able to be buried with his name and put to rest. He'll finally have peace after 65 years.
#Literally feel like crying#He was so young and so mistreated#I'm weirded out by how I felt so connected to the case this week out of nowhere#I've literally not looked at this case for years and think about it every so often but it was literally constant this week#And the fact my exact thoughts were like 'I just wish we will find out one day through DNA or something' and that's. That's what happened#If there's an afterlife I hope he's able to get closure from this#It's one of those cases I've always looked at and thought 'I wish I could've been there to help him'#Whether that's as someone who managed to intervene and stop his death or was a neighbour of his who realised he had a bad home life#And was able to adopt him or something#He deserved so much fucking better#I just wanna hug him#I hope he's happy wherever he is#Rest in peace kid#Know that you were/are/always will be loved. Even 65 years later.

I don't think I can ever describe it decently enough but finding a kindred spirit (of sorts) between two authors' voices (especially when they are so distinct from one another and unique to themselves) is so magical.
#this is about me thinking i found a mirror of elizabeth strout’s pen around lucy barton and tezer özlü’s ‘cold nights of childhood’#even though they are so so different from one another#if i didn’t know that cold nights of childhood was only translated to english for the first time last year#i would swear that strout had read it#which makes it even more insane!#art!!!#it materializes in such similar but distinct ways from such different individuals with such different lives and experiences!#i wish i was smarter so i could talk about it in a way that made sense#aaarrghhh it’s makes me want to chew on drywall!#i've only ever read this one novel by özlü and it has kind of fucked me up while comforting me at the same time#and strout also fucked me up while comforting me in a completely different manner!#idk it might just be because i read them back to back that my brain is trying real hard to want to find a thread that connects them lol#i do think i have to read “cold nights of childhood” a couple times more to truly grasp and digest it#that book is about 65 pages and it punches you in the stomach in almost every page#and i don't know my thoughts around this could change after a reread but for the time being this unhinged opinion shall stay here

i’m rewatching episode 65 and bro i Do Not Trust this fucking fortune teller. if grizz wasn’t so insistant on his love for tieflings, i’d bring up my “Niklaus is a changeling” theory. just hear me out. This fortune teller was pretty much brought out from no where, grizz just brought him up. okay let me say this slower, Grizzly brought up the fortune teller that takes peoples memories. why? because he enjoys watching them like movies, or at least that’s what he claims. now tell me that doesn’t sound similar to Niklaus “I just love a good story” Hendrix. I will say, the way the fortune teller speaks doesn’t feel like Nik, but their motivations seem very similar. They both also have similar procedure: an inability to leave the room, an intimidating presence, one member of the crew separated from the others, and a deal offered to benefit one side more than the other, set in stone by a touch of the hands (either a handshake or a palm reading.) Niklaus is a major background antagonist, causing conflict behind the scenes so the crew can give him a good story too watch from the sidelines. Perhaps the fortune teller was his way of assessing Chip directly, maybe as a way of researching the curse and it’s tolls. I’m not directly saying they’re the same person, as i don’t believe Grizz would make him a changeling instead of a tiefling, but I’m also not writing the possibility out.
