One of my favorite Halloween specials. This is a Canadian cartoon from a studio called Nelvana, which later made some other great stuff, like the feature Rock and Rule in 1983 and the TV series Eek the Cat, which ran from 1992 to 1997.

Here's a nice treat. A 16mm scan of the 1978 Halloween special "The Devil and Daniel Mouse" by Nelvana.

The original film stock was reportedly destroyed in a fire at Nelvana in the late '80. This is closest to the full 25 min version. The special is loosely based on the folktale "The Devil and Daniel Webster", it's also a precursor to Nelvana's own cult film "Rock and Rule".
