'I think there's something deeply creepy about an algorithm that's deciding your reccomendations. I think it's a bummer to see it becoming normalized. [...] it used to be you lived in a community of human beings, trusted friends that were like 'oh, you like this, you should check this out' or 'here, I made you this mixtape' or... It's easy to get hung up in how quaint all the technology of it is - like a mixtape, or a CD, or whatever - but effectively like a human being you know of, having a friend that's human. There's... It's a bummer to see that be replaced by an algorithm. [...] It's really effective, but also it's unsettling. I think it's worth pushing against.'
