Hi everyone!

I'm Francesca and I'm writing my thesis for the degree about modding in the Sims. The title is "Video game modification as self-expression: the phenomenon of modding in The Sims".

If you to participate to my research please reply here and start a discussion so I can expand my research!

So I need some modders and CC creators to ask them some questions:

I want to know if and why you create mods or CC for the Sims, what drives you to do this?

If you create mods talk me a little bit about it!

How do you protect your intellectual property on your creations? Do you feel that you should be paid or would you like to have some recognition from EA?

Finally with your experience in gaming and modding do you think that this practice gives you the opportunity to express yourself better? And by that I mean both the expression of one's creativity and personality and one's sexual orientation. Being a real life simulation game people often want to represent yourself 100% even in your Sims, do you think it is possible to do that more because of mods or otherwise what is your opinion on that?

this mod adds over 500 notifications and 30 buffs to phone calls based on sims' relationships and age.

you call your friend:

 you call your sibling:

you call your wife/husband:

you call your girlfriend/boyfriend:

you call your parents:

there's a small chance of having an unpleasant conversation. this chance increases if you're talking to someone with traits like mean, hotheaded, or bully.

notifications are also distributed by age. children will receive unique notifications, and other sims will get specific notifications when calling children. there are also specific teenage notifications about admissions.

unique flirt notifications are also available if you own the "cupid's heart" expansion pack. through the "flirt" action on the phone, you can flirt with people outside of a relationship and receive new notifications and buffs.

there's a chance the person will tell you they don't want anything serious. this chance increases if the character has the noncommittal trait.

at night, long calls are possible only with partners. from 00:00 to 06:00, specific late-night notifications apply, with unique ones for parents and grandparents.

changed phone interactions include: "chat with...", "video call...", "chatty a family call with...", "flirt with..."

changes to the relationship panel interactions are: "chat", "chatty a family call", "flirt".

notifications and buffs are also added to incoming calls.

the mod will conflict with other mods that change calls in the game. for example, such as scumbumbo's call anytime. it is compatible with mods that add custom incoming calls or texts, such as 'connected sims' by adeepindigo, 'randomtexts' by kuttoe, and 'more send text variety' by tyjokr.

☕ COFFEE & TEA OVERRIDE ☕

 I really love to go to coffee shops with my sims, to make hot tea or coffee in the morning, it adds some coziness and atmosphere to their pixel lives! 

 But alas, in the game, all hot drinks look the same (yes, yes, the same mug with some dark drink for all occasions):

   Not too long ago, I substituted cocoa with marshmallows and it turns out that this small substitution turned out to be a favorite of many! So I decided to redesign the appearance of absolutely all warming drinks (if I missed something - let me know in the comments!). To do this, I created new objects so that the appearance of each drink would be unique.

I was inspired to create this mod by the default mug replacement from the wonderful creator JariSimCC. His mugs look awesome and most importantly - they fit perfectly in the Sim's hand! He gave me permission to use his mash (i.e. he made the shape of the mug, I just drew textures for it). Be sure to check out his blog, he has a lot of cool CC content and different swaps!!! 

 Replaced all drinks from:

〇 tea brewer (Base Game)

〇 coffee maker (Base Game)

〇 electric kettle ("For Rent")

〇 espresso bar ("Get Together")

MAIN MOD: ~ Coffee&Tea Override ADDON: ~ Tuning Addon (increases the number of “sips” from 3 to 5, and adds 50 calories to coffee drinks)

 It is desirable not to put the files with texture replacement deeper than one subfolder in the Mods folder. Also, this mod will conflict with any mod that replaces these textures (I know for sure that A.I. Upscaled Food is not compatible with my mod).
