Hallendrest scribbles
In celebration of getting this story past 20k I decided to share some scribbles.
Reena watched as her guards with three of the others made their way back toward their rooms. The mood shifted immediately as they made their way in the opposite direction. There was a sort of smugness that settled over their guides while Kallias seemed to grow increasingly pale and nervous.
They descended a stairwell and Reena noticed that there was no décor in this part of the castle. The walls were blank, the floors simple and even the door they came to at the bottom of the stairs looked dull.  She looked to Kallias and found with a start that he was now being dragged by one of the guards as he tried to pull away. His ashen face stared wide eyed ahead.
Reena looked with her own pulse quickening and saw an old man dressed in the elaborate blue and gold robes of the council step out from the shadows. His wrinkled face bore a cruel smirk.
“So, you do still understand the consequences of disobedience.” The man said with a shockingly powerful voice. “It seemed you had forgotten.”
“I wasn’t disobeying,” Kallias said adamantly. “I only delayed.”
“Hmm,” the man said looking down his nose at the king. He turned and opened the door from which Kallias flinched once more. He glanced back briefly before stepping into the passage beyond.
The group started forward at once with the guards pulling Kallias along while Reena moved forward on numb legs. Beyond the door was an unfinished passage with a dirt floor, rough stone walls and lights hung in a string nailed inelegantly along the top of the wall at unequal distances both from each light and the ceiling.
In the narrow passage, Kallias was led before her with the guard on his right still gripping his arm though he had stopped trying to pull away. Reena glanced to her side and behind her and found she was also surrounded by grim-faced guards with the councilmen following behind. Ahead she could see a rough wooden door before which Travastol stood waiting. When the group drew near, he opened the door and slipped inside.
As the guard brought Kallias near the doorway, he pulled back once more, turning away. A feeble and involuntary attempt at flight. His eyes met Reena’s for just a moment; they were filled with fear and regret.
With the flinch of an escape attempt over, Kallias walked beside the guard through the door and Reena behind allowed herself to be corralled into the same room.

no one wants to know but these are all the books i read in April *jazz hands*
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(id show the actual books but i got all of them at the library)
anyways, all of these books were so good but my top three are
The Seven and 1/2 deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle (it’s a murder mystery mixed with Groundhog Day and the plot twists are immaculate, it’s also a standalone)
Three Dark Crowns (dark academia & royalcore, the betrayals the plot twists the ✨characterization✨. beautiful, it’s the first book in a 3? book series)
and Our Dark Duet (So so so good, it’s the second book in the monsters of verity duology, and the emotions and the writing are literal poetry, victoria’s done it again. I’d put it higher but the ending ripped my heart out)

hi i have this idea for a celestial fanfic so i’ll be sharing it lol
this takes place on celestial island, it’s been at least 16 years (how old furnoss is) since the crash and the first rebirth. up until now everyone has either had vivid or blurry dreams of the cataclysm and starhenge falling. either that or they fully remember the events during both situations, the only ones that do remember though are vhamp and furnoss. vhamp being way younger than furnoss they’re not able to speak up about it, they’ve obviously matured faster than the other younger celestials but prefer to go nonverbal. furnoss eventually comes to terms that vhamp knows about the cataclysm and starts paying more attention to them. loodvigg thinking that this is favoritism gets attmoz and glaishur to help, but when furnoss doesn’t speak up they gets irritated and ends up going to vhamp instead
but surprise surprise vhamp refuses to speak or just cant pronounce them! none of them were particularly good with children, so the trio had to get others to participate in teaching vhamp and maybe(?) finding out the truth

[4mb edit]
The movie isn't even that good, but I just wanted to see if I could make GIFs of this scene. I believe this was the darkest scene I made a GIF of. Print of an original frame below.
