Looking up Welsh words on google translate cs I'm not yet home to look in my actual dictionaries

Werewolf is "bleidd" (bl-ay-th), where wolf is "blaidd" (bl-eye-th), and I don't understand why just that vowel has changed

Vampire is "fampir" (vam-peer)

Ghost/spirit is "ysbryd" (uhs-breed), that of the mistranslations post where someone wrote that instead of spirits as in alcohol on a Tescos aisle sign - but if you look down the list, there's also "bwbach" - "little boo" - which is just about the cutest thing I ever did hear
