#TheBrokenHeartsGallery (2020): A bit clichéd at times, but a solid rom-com.

I need a Harringrove TheBrokenHeartsGallery AU where drunk aspiring art gallery curator Steve Harrington mistakes hotel proprietor Billy Hargrove's car for his Uber drive, and proceeds to tell him the story of how Nancy just broke his heart and he made a fool of himself and got fired. And when Steve sees the in-progress Chloe Hotel, after the second time they stumble upon each other, he leaves Nancy's scarf on a nail and starts the broken hearts gallery on the second floor of Billy's hotel, and returns when someone else leaves a map as a memento of their own heartbreak , right by the scarf. And Steve and Billy obviously butt heads, but they like each other, and they might be in love, and an investor decides to help the hotel when the bank decides to not finance Billy's endeavour. And when the opening of both the hotel and the gallery approaches, the big lie (or better, non-corrected assumption) of where the hotel's name comes from comes to light and Steve leaves, angry and heartbroken once more.

And someone (Argyle, probably) looks at Billy Hargrove and tells him "It's like Steve's your knight in shining armor and you're the stupidest princess I've ever met." Because, remember the investor who at the last minute prevented Billy's dream from going up in flames? It was Steve, using all that's left of his trust fund, betting on a business that the bank thinks will sink in the blink of an eye.

Queue Billy going to Steve and explaining that no, the Chloe Steve met the other day is not an ex girlfriend Billy named the hotel after, Chloe was Billy's mom! And this is his step-sister (named after her dead mother) who Billy didn't know existed until one hour before Steve arrived at the hotel. And the map? That first addition ever to the gallery? It was Billy's heartbreak. He and his mom were supposed to flee an abusive home together, but mom left him behind and... You know where this goes, right? To a happily ever after, of course.

So. Who's gonna write this for me? Pretty please? Or do I have to do all the work in this house?! T^T

I have been sketching a full size dummy for my manuscript for the past couple of days. I’m so not used to making my characters and scenery so big. I’ve been in the planning and thumbnail stage so long. It’s been an adjustment. I’ve been watching #strangerthings from the beginning while I work in the hopes that by the time I get to the new season, it will be a reward for finishing my first FULL dummy. I took a break from it today though to watch #thebrokenheartsgallery and to my surprise the actor that plays evil Billy #dacremontgomery was in it. His character was kind of the reason I needed a break. His cruelty is hard to take for long periods. But in this movie he plays a guy nursing a broken heart who ends up helping a girl on the night she finds out her boyfriend is seeing someone else. It was nice to see him in another light and made it easier to not see him solely as Billy. I loved the movie. It reminded me a lot of my twenties when I felt unlovable and collected everything because I scrapbooked everything.
