#704: A sign for those torn in many directions, and with too many roads they must travel down. Every hour means more jobs showering into their schedule, and eventually their time will run out. Latest in a set of Tarot-inspired signs. This sign represents the Ten of Wands, a card about taking on too much personal responsibility and about being burdened or challenged. The design borrows from the Rider-Waite interpretation, which featured a young man carrying ten staves by himself, and has ten lines radiating out from its center to allude to it being the Ten of Wands.

A bit of symbolism under the cut, but I'm curious of other interpretations!!

Card that's all about forming own opinions and being authentic to self? Where the Reversed meaning is about hard choices and dealing with consequences? Even if they weren't the main couple of the musical it would've fitted them well!

There are twists in this one - major one is replacing the angel that blesses the couple with Max - still alive, threatening in all of his bully glory.

I kept the "everyone looks at someone who's looking at someone else" circle - Max is threatening Peter, Peter is in love with Steph and Steph is prepared to go after Max for what he did to Peter.

They have more nervous/covered up body language than the original card, since they aren't communicating that clearly. Steph is more open, even if nervous, Peter is on the fence, but willing.

Gun between them, pointing at Peter? You'll never guess what's that referencing :P

the star, moon, and sun as max, anne, and jack came to me in a holy vision and i'm still so pleased that i found images of them all sitting and oriented the same way. trio of all time

and that's it! i only did the major arcana bcs any more would've killed me lol. i think i finished the final versions in november, so it's been almost a full year and, despite the flaws i still see, i still really love this project!

I've been having this thought about Alkaline and the process of alkaline hydrolysis/aquamation (aquamation -> cremation -> funeral pyre?? (all the burial/earth imagery in the eps*) brain please I'm busy) and had the thought in the shower of wondering what the pH of the human body is and now it's taking over my brain and I can't tell if this is too far of a reach because I'm on the verge of doing a whole write up about this topic too.

(Summary: Alkaline possibly referring/being a metaphor for/about about a process called alkaline hydrolysis, which is used as an alternative to cremation and uses water and a strong alkaline solution (lye) to rapidly decompose a body in a matter of hours. The human body's pH is around 7, which is also the track number of the song Alkaline, and also the line "neither acid nor alkaline" would put the subject of the song at pH 7 as well. Which would make The POV Vessel sings from the lye solution)
