#Thena thinks about what she can do for Gil
softquietsteadylove · 10 months
Note
Hiiii!! I love these rare moments when Thena successfully cooks/bakes something for Gil! So how about she make something for him and it turns out good??
I think it would fit for the Bodyguard AU. If you think it would fit into another AU better please do it!
"Thena?"
Gil walked into the apartment, smelling...quite a few things, really. First and foremost, he could smell the evidence of something burning, which was his main concern.
Thena had told him not to bring food with him when he came over today. Apparently she was 'trying something'. He was pretty sure he had never seen her so much as attempt to use her fancy penthouse kitchen, so he wasn't entirely sure what she was 'trying'.
But she sounded excited, and that alone made him agree to it.
"What, uh," he blinked, on the verge of laughing when he arrived a true disaster in her stunning kitchen. There were bowls and failed attempts still in pans strewn everywhere. That was that weird burnt smell. He smirked, "is going on here?"
"Gil!" Thena emerged from behind the countertop with a bright smile. Her hair was pulled back and there was evidence of stuff all over her flawless skin. But she seemed positively elated to see him. "I'm so glad you're here!"
It was such a simple statement, but it really made his heart start flip-flopping around in his chest with glee. He shirked off his bomber jacket and laid it over the back of one of the counter chairs. "Is this what you've been up to?"
"Okay," she sighed, turning back to the stove.
It was going to take hours to get this place looking presentable again.
"I remember you telling me that you hum in the kitchen because your grandmother would," she narrated as she stirred the pot of...something. "Aren't some of your favourite recipes from her?"
"Uh, yeah," Gil blinked as Thena offered him sparing and fleeting looks over her shoulder as she tasted her creation. He had mentioned it, ever so briefly in passing. He didn't think she had remembered it.
"Well, my grandmother also made me most of my meals in childhood."
Gil blinked; Thena had never brought up her family before. Not much was known about them, and certainly she had never even so much as mentioned them.
"She was quite a good cook, or perhaps everyone else in my family was just so bad that she was the lesser of evils," Thena continued to talk as she added the very last dash of salt to the pot before turning off the burner. "She used to make us a soup called Ukha."
Gil had read about it--Russian or maybe Slavic in origin? It was a fish stew. He raised his brow, "fish?"
"I know," she sighed, finally turning to him and tossing away her hand towel. She tilted her head, "I knew you would catch that."
He chuckled, holding up his hands in surrender, "I'm just saying--you always have some complaint when I make fish for you."
"Because I used to eat Ukha all the time!" she huffed, rolling her eyes. He had never seen this particular light in her eyes, before. But it was quite similar to when she was particularly pleased with her latest performance.
It was pride.
Gil inhaled reflexively as she pushed the bowl in front of him. It was a semi-clear broth, probably a seafood stock, although it didn't smell super fishy. There were large, uneven chunks of carrots and potatoes and onions, and some very whole herbs that probably could have been ground up finer.
It was beautiful.
"You said you were still a little bit stuffy after being sick," she murmured more sheepishly now, toying with the apron she had on over her clothes (an apron he had bought her, since of course she didn't own one before). "I know you like soup--and it's rather hard to mess up broth. So, I thought... "
"It's great!"
Thena sighed at him, "you haven't even tasted it!"
He didn't care. It looked beautiful, and the hopeful eagerness on Thena's face said a thousand words. He picked the bowl up and took a deep, loud slurp.
"Gil!"
He made a nice loud 'ahh' sound too, as if he had taken a deep swig of beer after a hard day. But really...it wasn't bad. It was maybe a little over-seasoned, too many flavours battling it out for dominance. Even after her last dash of salt it could probably use more. He would guess that some of the larger veg pieces might be a little under done in texture.
But none of that mattered because it was the best thing he had ever eaten. "It's not bad."
"Really?"
He smiled, genuinely eager to offer his praise of the simple white fish stew. "I bet your grandma would be proud."
Thena blinked, her eyes going glassy. She sniffled, turning back to the pot for herself. "Well, I wanted to do something for you. Especially since I meant to, and then..."
She was referring to when she came over to his place to take care of him while he was sick and then fell asleep on his bed. He had eventually gotten up and made some miso soup for the both of them, much to Thena's embarrassment and frustration.
"Come on," he chuckled, taking a more civilised spoonful of soup. Actually, it was pretty good on his second taste of it. She had actually cooked the fish just right, which was probably the hardest part of things.
"Hm," she mused, taking only a few spoonfuls for herself in a small tasting bowl. "I suppose I've made much worse."
"It's good," he assuaged, although she still seemed to be ignoring his open praise of it. He tilted his head to try and get a better look at her, "careful, Thena."
She tilted her head at him as well.
"You'll get me hooked on this stuff. Then I'll be asking you to make it for me all the time."
She rolled her eyes at him, now more flustered over his warm reception of her first successful meal attempt. "You will not."
"Why not?" he shrugged, taking another spoonful and chewing the fish. It was actually nice and soft, almost...buttery? His eyes dashed over to the counters again and he spied one of the pans with what was definitely burned butter crusted onto the bottom. That was the smell; she had taken a few tries to get the fish butter basted before adding it to the soup. It was a nice touch, though.
"How are you feeling, by the way?" she peeked up at him, still somewhat shy from his open adoration.
He sniffed the soup again, letting its heavy dill and tarragon scent push through his sinuses. "Much better, now."

When no one listens
Request: Maybe something thenamesh?? I don't know something cute and fluffy and the other eternals are so done with them - by anon, thank you so so much 🖤
Warnings: English is not my first language.
Pairing: Thena/Gilgamesh
Words: 792
Tumblr media
It is not an everyday thing to find Gilgamesh and Thena so close resting against each other. So, it is hard to pay attention to Ajak’s instructions as two very tired warriors snuggle in the back.
“Stop.” Thena threatens Kingo from afar with her stare.
“I should say the same thing,” he replies back, body fully turning towards them. “What is this that’s going on?”
She looks away and back to Ajak, ignoring him.
At some point during Ajak’s speech Thena rests her head against Gil’s shoulder earning the attention of Druig and Phastos, who just stare at each other like they are in the office.
“You see it too, right?” Asked Kingo.
“Uh,” Phastos takes a moment to think, but is cut off by Ajak.
“Are you guys even listening?” She speaks directly to everyone in the left corner which consist of Kingo, Phastos, and Druig. “What was I talking about?” She asks at their silence.
Kingo and Druig look at each other waiting for the other to talk as Phastos stutters to form an answer to no veil.
“You are talking about the re-distribution of the teams to travel overseas in the search of deviants.” Thena replies from her place attached to Gil’s rib.
Makkari frowns at her with a discerting look, and Sersi just looks marveled.
“Thank you, Thena; but I was talking to the corner on the left.” She gives them a stern look.
It is enough to make them stop, but it has now gained the attention of Sprite. She uses an illusion of herself sitting at the front listening to Ajak, while she walks invisible in the direction of Gilgamesh and Thena. She takes note of how they are holding hands, and how Gil’s thumb is brushing against Thena’s. Just when she is about to prank Gil tickling him with an invisible feather she hears Ajak calling out her name.
“Sprite, I hope you are not using an illusion again to escape. This is a very important matter.” Ajak talks like a mother with a warning tone.
Sprite hurries back to her place. “Sorry, Ajak.” She knows Ajak can detect her better than anyone, a special ability of the prime eternal.
At some point Gil starts to snooze nodding his head not fully asleep, and Thena wraps her arms around him to support him against her own shoulder like a mother would hold a child close. This has now caused distress between the eternals, even Ikaris is looking at them every now and then. Even Ajak blinked a few times in their direction, like trying to see if she was seeing right or it was one of Sprite’s illusions to stop her speech.
Kingo is fully turned towards them, ignoring Ajak right in front of her salad. The salad being a very cozy Gilgamesh and Thena. Phastos’ jaw has almost dropped to the floor, he keeps looking back and forth between Ajak and them. Druig is seeking comfort with Makkari, trying to ignore the scene, but it doesn’t help when the speedster is also occasionally looking at them and trying to gossip with Phastos and Kingo from afar. Sprite joined the corner on the left trying to get a more discreet glimpse of the two strong eternals in the other corner. At this point Sersi is just completely distracted by Ikaris standing next to her at the right side of the hall.
“I’m going to do it.” Mumbles Druig.
“I-” Phastos stutters. “It would be better if-” He struggles to find the right words. “You know what? Do as you please.”
“Don’t mind control them in front of Ajak.” Sprite intervenes.
“Gil?” They all hear Thena’s whispers. “My feet are cold.”
Gil soon takes her feet into his hands and between them to warm them up.
“Okay!” Kingo declares loudly as everyone else starts to complain, disrupting Ajak’s speech. They all get up shaking their head as Ajak looks at them confused.
“And where do you all think you are going?” She asks as they start to leave.
“We don’t even get cold.” Complains Phastos on their way out.
“Nice talk, Ajak. I might throw up.” Druig says.
“This has been the weirdest experience ever.” Sprite says. “I hope it never repeats.”
“What is going on?” Sersi asks as she follows them out.
Ajak shakes her head as she takes a deep breath trying to keep her cool. Her eyes fall on two very exhausted eternals on the right corner that stare right back at her not even one bit of guilt in their faces.
“So, are we dismissed?” Asks Gil.
“Just go.” Ajak says so done for the day.
But she can’t help but smile as she sees them walk out together; hand in hand.

I Get a Sugar Rush Whenever I'm With You - Chapter 6.3
Good evening fellow Drukkari stans, or whatever time it is for you! I come bearing the next mini-chapter! If you missed any previous installments and need to catch up, you can find them on my handy dandy Table of Contents here. The competition is heating up as everyone grows closer. How will the others fit into the group dynamic? Find out now in the next mini-chapter of Drukkari in the Great British Bake Off!
Tumblr media
By the time dinner rolled around, Druig was pretty beat. Technicals were never fun, but this one had been particularly distressing: gluten free bread. Both he and Makkari were in the bottom half, which wouldn’t have been too terrible a few weeks ago, but now, it could spell disaster. Poor Phastos had come in last, leading him to retire early as usual rather than joining the rest of the group. Results had varied widely for the rest of them, leading to their current discussion.
“People think being vegan is hard, but going gluten free is the real challenge,” Sprite remarked.
“I concur,” Sersi added.
Says the one who came in first, Makkari interjected, a playful smirk on her lips.
And it was very difficult!” she responded.
“Congrats, by the way!” Gil said, raising his bottle of water in a toast. The rest of them joined in, raising their assorted drinks to Sersi, which made her smile.
“Awww, thanks everyone,” she said as she clinked glasses with the group. While she seemed genuinely happy, Druig thought he spotted a hint of sadness in her eyes. It seemed Makkari had noticed, too.
Hey, you okay? she signed subtly, so as not to alert everyone, though most of them still noticed.
“Yeah, just thinking about our friends who’ve been sent home. Dane actually predicted I’d do well this week. I just wish he was still here to see it,” Sersi explained wistfully.
“You could just call him, right?” Sprite interrupted, sounding more like a statement than a question.
“I think she could, but it might be against the rules to give him too many details about the competition,” Ajak explained.
“And if I call him, I don’t know if I’d be able to hide it for long,” Sersi added.
“Ugh, couples are so gross,” Sprite lamented.
“Oh, we’re not together. Dane and I are just friends,” Sersi said a little too quickly, a blush starting to settle on her cheeks.
You mean he still hasn’t asked you out!? Makkari asked, eyes widening in shock and disbelief.
“What? He’s done no such thing!”
“Really? I asked Thena out the day she got eliminated,” Gil piped up.
Everyone seemed to turn in unison toward Gilgamesh, not exactly surprised at the idea but surprised to hear it confirmed out loud. After a split second of silence, their reactions came all at once.
I KNEW IT! Makkari exploded, nearly shaking with excitement, which made Druig chuckle.
“Well, at least I don’t have to watch you pining after each other anymore,” Sprite said, her voice sounding annoyed, but a small smile on her face.
“That’s great, Gil!” Ajak added.
“She said yes, right?” Druig asked teasingly.
“She did,” Gil confirmed with a grin.
“Oh my goodness, I’m so happy for you two!” Sersi said.
“Thanks, everybody,” Gil replied, a bit surprised but still appreciative of the warm response. “To get back to the point, though, I didn’t wait long. So what’s holding Dane up?”
“I told you already. We’re just friends,” Sersi insisted, her face getting redder by the minute.
“Sersi, he spent most of his time talking to you and the rest of it staring at you when you weren’t looking. I think he might want more than friendship,” Sprite declared.
“That’s not even counting your interactions during dinner,” Druig chimed in, prompting Sersi to shoot him a look.
Maybe he just needs a push in the right direction, Makkari suggested, like advice from someone who knows you both.
“Hey now, we shouldn’t get too involved,” Ajak interjected. “I’m sure Dane is quite capable of asking Sersi out on his own, if that’s what she wants.”
“I wouldn’t be too sure,” Gilgamesh said pensively. “Asking someone out is a lot of pressure. It’s easy to just keep making up excuses for why you shouldn’t do it.”
What was your excuse with Thena? Makkari asked.
“I don’t know how much she’s told you, but we sort of knew each other a long time ago,” he began. “In fact, we were supposed to get coffee together, but she ended up moving away before we got the chance. When we ran into each other again all these years later, I wasn’t sure she’d still want to go out with me.”
“But she did,” Sersi said, smiling gently.
“She did,” Gil confirmed, smiling back. “But I didn’t realize that until the day she got eliminated, and she asked me how much longer I was going to make her wait for that coffee.”
“It was pretty obvious to the rest of us,” Sprite muttered.
“It never seems obvious when it’s happening to you!” he asserted. “You’re still young, Sprite. You’ll see what I mean when it happens to you. Anyway, Makkari might be onto something. If you want Dane to ask you out, Sersi, he might need a push in the right direction.”
“I still think it’s better not to interfere,” Ajak interrupted. She gave a pointed look at Makkari, who feigned innocence at the gesture. Ajak then turned her stern gaze toward Druig, who didn’t need to pretend to be surprised.
“Why are you looking at me?” he asked.
“You know why.”
“I don’t think he does,” Gil said, chuckling.
“For fully grown adults, you’re all pretty clueless, huh?” Sprite teased, sparking a chorus of “Heys” from everyone else. After a moment, she added, “Except for Ajak.”
“Thank you, Sprite,” she replied smugly.
-
As they left Ajak’s room, Druig hung back from the group a bit. Right on cue, Makkari turned to look at him, noticed his growing distance from the rest of them, and accepted his silent invitation to talk. She let the group get a bit further away before asking him, What’s up?
What was Ajak trying to get at earlier?
I think she just knows you’re my usual partner in crime, she replied, a sly smile playing at her lips. And she doesn’t even know the half of it.
Druig couldn’t help but smile, remembering their clandestine baking session earlier that week.
Do you think she’s right, though? Makkari continued.
About what?
About not interfering.
Druig thought about it for a moment, then he turned to her and said, No. I think I’m with Gil on this one. Sometimes guys need a push. Makkari’s small smile turned into a full-blown grin. I’d ask Sersi first, though. Just in case.
I will, but I think she’ll accept my help, she said. You saw her at dinner. She really misses Dane!
Yeah, I don’t envy their situation, he added. Although, if I can’t turn things around tomorrow, that might be us next week.
Hey, she said, as she stopped and turned him to face her. Stay strong. We’re both going to get through this week. You know why?
Why?
Because I won’t allow you to give up, she insisted. There was a soft smile on her face, but a steadiness in her gaze that told Druig that she meant it. It stirred something in his chest.
Thank you. I needed that, he said.
Anytime. With that, she wrapped her arms around him. He hugged her back and noted, not for the first time, that they seemed to fit together perfectly.
-
Honestly, so many cute ships came out of this movie. Hope you enjoyed this installment!

Okay I know its after Christmas but I have to ask for this for science… Number 9 but it’s Thena pegging Gil. I would DIE FOR THIS thank u very much lmaoo
Alright, okay! Finally! Here we go! VERY NSFW, please process it carefully. Just a warning, this is the first time I write something like this and it looked better and sexier in my head but here goes nothing.
9. “You take me so well.”
[Cafe AU]
It starts with a late-night discussion. Gil has closed his shop for the day and they sit down for a nightcap on his sofa. Somehow, the subject falls into sexual fantasies. Thena, a bit tipsy and feeling rather wild, snuggles into his chest and says - half joking and half serious - that she thought about them doing it in the movie theater.
“We were there just last week,” he muses.
“We were,” she agrees, booping his nose.
“Did you think about it then?”
“Of course,” she says, matter-of-factly.
“How?” Now he’s curious.
She taps her forefinger to her lips, “We’d make out, then you’d slip a hand under my dress, telling me to keep looking at the screen. And you– Gil!”
“Hmm?” He looks up from kissing along her neck.
“You’re not listening,” she chides, pinching his love handle. That’s just her excuse to slip her hand under his sweater to feel his skin, but he doesn’t need to know that.
“I am listening,” he has the nerve to pout, “I tell you to keep looking at the screen, and?”
“Uh-uh, I’m done for now,” she shakes her head, “It’s your turn.”
If she’s honest with herself, she’s been curious about this for a while. What does a sweet, wholesome man like Gil have for his sexual fantasies? She’s excited, if not a little nervous, to find out.
Gil swallows and gnaws at his lower lip. She can tell that he’s shy by the red of his ears and the way he constantly rubs at his nose, but he also doesn’t want to lie or brush her off. Thena smiles, taking his hand to stop his fidgeting.
“It’s okay if you don’t want to talk about it,” she gives him an assuring smile. She’s never known to be patient, but she’s learning it from him.
“No, I-I want to,” he admits.
“You can trust me,” she says, reaching up to kiss his cheek, “And you know, maybe I would be down for it.”
“Y-Yeah?” Even his neck is growing a deep shade of red.
She waits.
“Well, this just occurred to me recently, but I think I want to try…anal sex.”
Thena has to strain her ears to hear him. The room suddenly feels hot and she squirms in his arms. She has never tried it with anyone, but she certainly could entertain that fantasy for Gil. The few times that he touched her there, it felt amazing.
“Gil, many people want to try that,” she begins, “You don’t have to feel insecure…”
“No, but…” He cuts in before she gets to finish, “You’re the one who…do it to me.”
Oh.
“You want to be pegged?” She asks.
He buries his face into her neck and nods. She can almost see the steam coming off the top of his head. So adorable. She has heard about it, and from what she knows, it gives great pleasure. And if there’s anyone who deserves it, it’s her Gilgamesh. Just that thought makes her want to groan.
She hugs him back, dropping kisses to his hair, “Okay.”
“What?” He lifts his head up from her shoulder, his eyes look like two flying saucers.
“We can perform your fantasy.”
“N-Now?” He stammered. Thena has to bite her lips to stop herself from chuckling at the hint of somewhat excitement in his voice.
“No, baby,” she says, moving to straddle his lap, “When I peg you, you’ll be stone-cold sober.”
His moan is cut short by her tongue sticking down his throat.
The next couple of days, she starts researching it, looking up step by step on how to peg a man as good as possible. And like the serious researcher she is, she does it thoroughly as if it was a case file. After telling him about douching and lubrication, she pulls him to sit down with her and look through the strap-on choices. He said he wanted that specifically and not a dildo when she pressed him. Kingo and Phastos choose the wrong moment to step into Gil’s apartment without knocking. Kingo stares at the way his boss slams her laptop shut while the Eternal’s chef pushes the papers they’ve been reading off the coffee table, he doesn’t have to see what it is about to guess the concept of what they were discussing.
“Not a word,” he says on the way out. Phastos is already left, “We didn’t see anything. We do not need to know what is going on. We’ll be back later and we’ll all agree that this didn’t happen.”
The door clicks shut before Thena and Gil sigh.
“We’ll continue at my place,” she says as they gather their documents.
And it’s her bedroom where they are going to try out Gil’s fantasy for the first time. She takes his hand and leads him inside. They’re eager to take off each other’s clothes, but when she tries to push him down on her bed, he maneuvers them and instead she finds herself sitting on the mattress with her legs thrown over his shoulder, him kneeling at the foot of the bed.
“Gil, tonight is about you,” she protests half-heartedly, already panting as he nibbles up her inner thigh.
“Oh, you have no idea how much pleasure I get from doing this,” he grins before pressing his tongue against her pussy and making her see stars. She gasps for air, throwing her head back as she comes into his mouth, one of her hands claws at his back and the other grips the sheet so tightly her nails nearly rip through it.
He puts his chin on her lap, looking at her with a satisfied expression even when she hasn’t even touched him. His mouth is still slick with her arousal. Thena reaches out and cups his cheek.
“Get on the bed and wait here,” she demands.
“Yes, my lady.”
He doesn’t bother to hide his lustful moan when she reappears at the bathroom door, wearing her new strap. He pulls her closer, peppering kisses to her belly as she runs her hands through his hair.
“Lie back,” she says.
Gil moves upward and lies on the pillows, basking in the scent of her shampoo. She smears the lube on her hand, then gets in between his legs. She swoops down to kiss him deeply, coaxing him to relax. His muscles ripple under her fingers and he jolts slightly when he feels the cool fluid she rubs on his rectum. She uses her other hand to pinch his nipples and he moans, pressing his head deeper into the pillows.
“So beautiful.”
“Thena, please.”
She slips one finger inside, slowly and evenly moving in and out.
“I need you to tell me if I’m hurting you.”
“No, it feels good,” he croaks, then after a pause, “More.”
Her second and then third fingers go in, loosening him up easily with a lot of lubrication and soon enough she’s pumping him with a steady speed. Gil is pressing the back of his hand against his mouth, trying desperately and unsuccessfully to stifle his obscene sounds. His rock-hard cock points upward deliciously, his pleasure lies solely in her hands. She’s never felt so powerful.
She withdraws her hand and he looks like he’s about to cry from the sudden emptiness. The reaction almost makes her lose her mind, she chases away the urge of entering him all at once and just presses the head of the cock at his asshole.
“Ready?”
He looks up at her predator smile and just spreads his legs wider. Thena tosses her hair out of her face and leans forward, grabbing at his hips. She watches in rapture as the cock disappears into him. Just as it reaches his prostate, he comes with a shout, shooting all over his belly. She keeps still, waiting for him to catch his breath. She can feel her arousal leaking out of the strap as he reaches for her blindly, and they both moan the moment he realizes the cock is still inside him.
“You take me so well,” she grins as she kisses him indulgently, letting his hands roam over her.
“You feel so good,” he manages, finding it harder and harder to form coherent words. He’s getting hard again and he knows she can feel it too, because she begins to thrust, growling back at every sound he makes.
He starts meeting her thrust by thrust, the length of the dildo messaging his prostate over and over. His chest is flushed red, it’s his turn to gasp for air. Tears are falling freely from the corner of his eyes, not because he’s in pain but because it’s just too overwhelming. He isn’t aware of what he’s saying anymore, the only thing in his mind is Thena’s cock slamming into him.
“I like you saying my name,” she drapes over him, sneaking her hand down to wrap around his cock and stroking it firmly.
“Thena, Thena,...” he whimpers, “I’m coming, I’m—”
“Come for me.”
And he falls again, writhing and thrashing in what must be the biggest orgasm he’s ever had in his life. His vision blurs and some conscious part of his mind just understands why they call this “the little death”. His entire body feels like liquid and he sinks deeper into the mattress. It’s her touch that brings him back, petting his hair gently and purring. She’s lying on top of him, her strap has been taken off. She rubs her nose against his when he opens his eyes, and her smile is radiant.
“Hi.”
“Hi,” he rasps, his throat is dry from all the screaming. He hopes they won’t get noise complaints from her neighbours.
“You okay?”
“Never better.”
“So,” she traces the laugh lines on his face, “How did your fantasy play out?”
“Well, because it was you, it’s even better than I imagined,” he lifts his head to kiss her, “But I wished I could make you come at least once more, you really blew my mind.”
Thena giggles, settling for a more comfortable position in his arms, “Later, Gil. I’m satisfied now.”
“Later then,” he promises.
“And look, darling, you made a mess on my bed,” she teases before throwing her blanket over them.
“No, you and your cock did that.”

All I Ever Wanted
Gil has spent the last few hundred years caring for Thena and although he cherishes her he hasn't been anywhere in a very long time. They have their home away from everyone else in self imposed exile and he loves it with her but he's seen the world and just once in a while he misses it.
He orders some travel brochures just for fun and Thena finds them while he's looking at them.
She takes one before he can hide them and flips through it. "You should go." She say's and he feels guilty for even thinking about it.
"But what about you?"
She shrugs. "I'm sure we can find a way."
But Gil never actually thought to take it seriously, sure it would have been nice but his place is here with Thena and he wouldn't dream of leaving her on her own.
Still, when he looks down at the colorful brochure for Fiji he feel just a little longing.
Thena follows his eyes and while she can be hard to read at times he knows she's thinking hard. "I'll think on it." She say's.
He laughs a little awkwardly. "Ah, it's alright." He say's. "I don't need to go anywhere."
He has missed seeing the world, just a little but he doesn't want to leave her. His life here with Thena has become the normal and they need each other.
It's Thena however a week later who comes up with the idea.
They're sitting, trying a new take on an old brew he's been tweaking and listening to the radio which comes in with only a little static all the way out here. If he asked, Phastos probably could have fixed it.
"Druig." Thena say's at random.
He looks up. "What?"
"I know how you can take your vacation." She say's and she sounds pleased with herself.
Gil is a little uncomfortable, he feels guilty thinking of leaving her. "Druig?" He repeats.
She nods, seemingly pleased with herself. "He can put me to sleep, just for while you're gone but he can."
It sounds cruel but then maybe it isn't, she looks distinctly pleased with her own idea.
"Are you sure?" He asks, not wanting to try it if she isn't.
She nods and sits back comfortably. "You deserve a vacation." She say's, picking up the brochure in all of it's color and promise again. "Go." She holds it up for him to see the bright fish and reefs on the front. "Go and swim."
He sighs, relenting. "Okay, I'll try to get ahold of him." He say's, thinking that maybe Druig will refuse to come all the way to their little part of the world and then maybe the whole thing will be out of his hands all together.
Thena beams and seems genuinely pleased. She even opens the brochure and looks at some of the details inside.
"Will you be okay if I do this?" He asks.
She nods. "I could use a rest." She say's, closing her eyes for a second before opening and smiling secretively. "My own vacation." She say's.
He nods and knows that for all of their years in isolation together he will never understand her mind truly. Mahd Wy'ry has taken it's toll and she was never an open book before it. Thena. . . whom he loves. . . Thena whom he would do anything for.
This is her gift to him in a way so he does reach out to Druig, part of him hoping he'll say no and part of him very much hoping he'll say yes.
Getting a hold of Druig was not so easy. The eternal didn't exactly have a phone number to call but just the same he had some idea where the other was and after some well posted letters finally dis hear back.
Druig had agreed and after reading the letter several times Gil felt a small sense of excitement. It would be nice to go out, nice to see something different for a change and it would be nice to come back too.
Thena was happy when he told her.
"You do enough." She say's. "You deserve this."
He doesn't know about all of that but Druig say's he'll come and so he thinks instead of packing and what to take.
Thena is happy for him and seems pleased to know Druig is coming. She tells him to take pictures while he's on vacation and points out things in the travel brochures she thinks he should visit.
Gil packs and eventually Druig does arrive, he takes a plane and Gil doesn't ask where from but he seems in his own, quaint way happy to see them.
Gil makes a good dinner for the three of them and Thena laughs louds, clearly in a good mood. It's nice and he can remember the days before when all of their family had been together, Kino and Sprite, Ajak and Sersi. . . . Ikaris and Phastos. . . Makkari. . . days spent laughing and fighting together.
So man good times.
It's just the three of them and Druig can be a little moody but he's less so when it's just three and Thena is bright and happy and throwing back drinks like they actually have alcohol in them.
He smiles and for two days they take a little vacation together like this, just as a family.
He shows Druig around and the other is vague about his own past times, whatever he's been doing for the past few hundred years he keeps to himself but it's nice just the same.
The day comes however and Thena tells him she's at peace with it.
"I wouldn't mind a rest." She say's, smiling beautifully.
He holds her hand and and Druig lowers his gaze respectfully before she lays back on her bed and folds her hands over her stomach peacefully.
Druig's eyes turn gold and Thena's close and then after a moment his eyes are normal again and she's breathing deeply and gently.
"You'll stay here until I get back?" Gil asks, a little anxiously.
Druig nods. "I can." He looks around. "I suppose I'll make myself at home then."
Gil waves a hand invitingly but his eyes stay on Thena and her peaceful expression. "Take care of her." He whispers.
"She'll come to no harm while you're gone."
He thanks him and kisses Thena's brow before leaving her in Druig's care and drives off to catch a plane himself.
He knows Druig would never let anything happen to her, he's always been the most independent of them all but he trusts him and in reality he knows nothing can really go wrong like this. Thena is getting her vacation too and he hopes she has peaceful dreams. She doesn't always.
Fiji is beautiful and he get's his feet wet, see's clear waters and drinks fruity cocktails each bar claims is a specialty.
It's fun.
he might have enjoyed a little company but just the same there's no one to argue over what to do next with and he enjoys himself.
He swims and pays for a snorkeling trip, enjoying that too and he takes pictures for Thena to see when he get's back.
He thinks at one point of calling home to see how things are going but a part of him say's that's too much worrying and so he descides to trust Druig and let him take care of things.
He has a good time, he buys some souvenirs and eats good food, lounges on the beach for a few days and talks walks in the sand. He even makes friends with a Japanese couple on vacation for a night before they head off to see the next thing on their list and he goes another way.
The humans move quickly on their vacations, they have a limited time to see everything and most of them will never see more than a fraction of the world. Still, he hasn't been away from home in years and in some ways he feels similar to them but he's already seen more than they ever will and in the end he accepts that and just contents himself to relax. That's what vacations are for.
Hammocks and sand between his toes but he catches himself missing Thena, turning to her when she's not there.
That's when it finally feels like just a vacation. He has her to go back to and something to look forward to after the holiday.
He enjoys the warm water and the silly drinks and the beach shacks all the more for it. When he get's home he can tell Thena about it and when at last he heads for the place he's one of a million tourists in the world.
Just anyone.
He get's home and finds Druig has made himself at home and he hasn't been kind about it. He's spread out and there's a plate left out on the table even. Thena is still asleep and he opens the door to find Druid reading with his feet up.
"I'm back!" He calls.
The other Eternal looks up, only mildly put off his reading and shrugs. "I was a day off then." He say's.
"You didn't know I was coming?" He thought he'd been pretty clear.
"LIke I said, a day off."
He shrugs it off and takes his bags in. "Everything go okay here?"
"Absolutely."
He nods and looks around, Druig has gone through his things. He can tell but he let's it go and doesn't try to mind the things he can tell have been moved.
"You found things to keep busy?"
Druig gives him a shrug and rolls his eyes. "Not as much as I'd have liked." He said.
"Ah. .. well as long as Thena was okay."
"SHe was alright, good dreams, I promise."
He looks at Druig and doesn't try to understand the extent of his power. If he can give Thena a good rest then that's good enough.
"We should wake her." He say's.
Druid nods and goes into Thena's room. His eyes are gold again and Gil is fresh form the beaches.
Slowly Thena's eyes open and she sists up, blinking slightly and then yawning.
She looks around and smiles. "Are you back?" She asks.
Gil smiles. "Just got in the door.
She stretches. "I had a good rest." She looks at Druig briefly but if he's had anything to do with it he doesn't say.
"Let me get my things put up and I'll tell you about it." Gil say's, glad she's happy and glad she's had a good rest. She deserves it.
he smiles and puts his things up and Thena get's up like she only ever had a nap.
It's funny but that's how Druig's power can work and he accepts that. She's happy enough with it.
They eat another meal together and then Druid leaves, off to where he came from and whatever secrets he keeps.
Gil is happy to be home and he's happy he took his vacation.
Thena likes her souvenir and and she likes the pictures and in the end the best part is coming home to her.
He loves Thena and he can't imagine a life without her.
He needs a vacation in the end from being without her and being home again is a vacation all of it's own.

Finally got around to watching the Eternals, so spoilers I guess if you haven’t seen it.
Tumblr media
First of all, the quizzes I took that say I’m a mixture of Dan Whitman and Sersi… accurate as fuck. I adore them both very much.
Gotta say, I’m kinda jealous of whatever gender Sprite has going on. But in all honesty I feel bad for them. Kingo’s whole Peter Pan speech actually made me feel bad. When Sprite said “Why did Arishem make me this way?” I actually choked up a bit. Like I’m so sorry he failed you kiddo. I’ve thought about it many times when I think about vampire lore, but imagine how much it would suck to be seen as a child for all eternity. When you’re literally thousands of years older than anyone currently around you.
Fucking Gilgamesh was the light of my fucking life. He is the best part of this movie and I will die on that fucking hill. It’s bullshit what they did to him. Ajax didn’t hit me that hard because we don’t get to know her nearly as much. But god fucking Damn it, give me my boy back.
Side note, I don’t really like Kingo that much. I just don’t think our personalities gel well. In all honestly, despite how much talent he clearly has, I’m not really a fan of any of that actors characters. I just don’t like the way his character didn’t take anything seriously.
Thena killed me. I’m a sucker for all Angelina Jolie characters. But imagine slowly loosing your mind and being forced to try and kill the people you love most in the world. Especially after she lost Gil, like what the duck, can she live? Can she fucking live? I wanna give my baby girl a hug.
I don’t think I have to say much about Druig, I think we all knew I’d love him. I wanna it’s Barry Keoghan. I’ve been mimicking his stupid adorable accent this whole movie! I think mind control is always one of those powers I’d be truly terrified to have. Like he tried to use them to protect people, and do the right thing. But talking away free will isn’t right. Also the way he flirts with Makkari 🥺 I want that.
I’ll make Phatos and Sersi quick. They are Both adorable and I love them and I wish them nothing but happiness. Like Phatos and his husband and his loiter boy were so cute. God I could watch a whole movie just of them interacting. I love to see POC characters being in the main action!
Least favorite is Ikaris. I hate his stupid smug face, and that silly little hair cut. White boy coming in here and ruining the vibes. Sure his power is kinda cool or whatever. But like even before the twist of the movie, I didn’t like him from the second he showed up. Sersi and Dan are perfect, and Ikaris needs to keep his nose out of their business. Get over her man. Gross.
Now to my favourite character ever. MAKKARI! My sweet baby girl. One she’s literally the hottest person I’ve ever seen, both physically and in personality. Oh my god and the way she signs is mesmerising. I kept reminding the movie just to watch her hands move. I will always love a character who knows sign language, and I think the representation is super important.
If you guys would like any Eternal fics or headcannons let me know. Because I feel cool writing them now that I have seen their cannon interpretations outside of the comics alone.

07 SPICY
"FIRST TIME"
They were both looking on the room they provided for them there's not enough room to separate them all. So they decided to partner up ajak and sprite, sersi and ikaris (of course) makkari and druig, phastos and kingo and then thena and Gilgamesh they were the closest and everyone think they were a thing all ready so that's that but they can't deny either that they weren't.
"you take the bed I'll take the couch" Gil offer to be a gentle man
"why?"thena frown at him
"do you want to share the bed?"Gil ask raising his both eyebrows
"I don't see the harm in that or if you insist taking the couch or that rug by the fireplace your welcome too"thena shrug walking to the bed Gil look at the bed it is much comfortable then the couch but other than that he would get to sleep next to thena he quickly walk to bed.
"I'll go shower first"thena declare before coming to the shower Gil just get there things arrange and he get thena's clothes ready for her to get after her shower he his usually do this for her all the time cause she always forget it and walk naked not that anyone seen her of course she make sure no one is around the domo bathroom to her room before getting out she mentioned this one's to Gilgamesh and he turn so red thena thought his sick. Since then when it's time for her bath he always arrange her clothes for her to the bathroom he doesn't want anyone accidentally seeing thena's body not a chance in hell he would let that so he always does this. At first his would leave his own clothes for her to use seems to work as thena always give it back to him and couple of days doing that she question him and told her he just forget and she can keep using it if she forgets her clothing but of course she noticed his love language and tell him that his welcome to her room to get her own clothes and gil said he doesn't know what she's talking about but next time thena take a bath after her shift she see her own clothes in the bathroom folded nicely waiting for her, she smile as she remember Gil's warmness.
Thena came out of the bath wearing towel and gil handed her, Her clothes for night she can get comfortable she smile at him and move away as it's Gil's turn to take a bath.
Thena dried her hair the best as she could she doesn't want to mess up their pillow sleeping in the same bed with gil is not new for her because of the nights she had trouble sleeping and gil always their to hold her to sleep his presence is so warm it make her feel safe. But still don't know why she wanted to look pretty tonight has she brush her platinum blonde hair she wore her night dress and come up in bed try to read a book while not trying to wait for gil.
"sleeping?"Gil chuckle as he came out of the bathroom wearing his pajama it's all in baby pink color but he looks handsome as always thena smile at him.
"nice pajama"thena tease still smiling at him
"jealous?"gil tease back coming up in bed thena just laughed at him
"you should be supervised when it comes to pick of clothing's" thena said still smiling
"why doesn't look good on me?"Gil frown at her and pout
"you look adorable"thena said grinning
"knew you where just jealous"Gil answer proudly thena drop her books and reach his cheek they didn't even notice they were closer to each other now
"maybe i'am just jealous"thena said softly much more closer to gil now only one of them have to move so their lips would met they look at each other eyes their were heat building that they can't explain Gil's drowning in thena's beautiful eyes he gently touch the back of her head running his fingers to her blonde hair. He slowly lean and kiss her gently which she gladly return, soft and gentle their lips are like make for each other until it turns to more of needs like hunger no words needed they know what they need to do as they body feel the same heat, thena push him to lay on the bed pining him and he let her have control he got nothing to complain either they kiss with more urgency now Gil's hands where on her thigh he can't stop running his hands up in down to it. Thena's skin is so soft.
She smile like him seductively my god this women really going to be the dead of him he thinks while he kiss her again there tongue fight each other his hands can't pick where to settle they where on her legs waist and then thena couldn't take it anymore she take Gil's t-shirt off and toss it to the ground without breaking their kiss she could feel Gil's muscle his abs which she will think later she really doesn't see him work out but yet his super sexy gil turns to flip them to change position thena let him and now his on top of her. thena feels gil going to her neck kissing it as the way he kiss her lips with hunger and yet gentle she lift her self a little when she felt gil taking off her dress she be happy to help and now she's completely naked from up gil cover her boobs with his gentle hands giving it a gentle squeeze as he continues to kiss thena's neck all the way down to her breast thena let out a moan as gil suck her nipple and squeezing the other side making sure they have the both attention they have needed he switch side by side as he suck into her nipples and then he slowly kiss his way down to her belly button still covering her boobs with his hands thena still wearing her underwear gil till his head to thena again to ask her permission and thena nod at him he slowly takes her panty off he let it smooth it way to her legs and kissing it he started in her knees in between as he position him self kissing there gently till it came to her thighs it's like his worshipping her body thena body slightly lift as gil mouth found its way to her sensitive part his tongue swirls around her Clint thena let out a loud moan Gil's loving what ever this new sounds thena making and now gil gently let his finger join his tongue he enter her with one finger first being gentle with her thena can't think of anything else as gil move his finger in and out of thena and carefully adding another finger to ready her what's about to happen later. thena's tightness might be hurt if they continue this because his not completely small his thick so he wants to thena's body to adjust he continues to lick her pearl has his fingers move in and out thena can't take it anymore she pull gil with such Force and push him to bed and lay on top of him.
"Stop being a tease" thena said and pull Gil's pants and underwear down she welcome his thickness by giving it a kiss and she swirl her tongue on the tip of it's head gil turn to let out a moan and when thena position her self on top of him ready to welcome him gil grab her arms
"Wait you might get hurt" gil said with concern look still taking care of thena's feeling even in the moment like this
"Gil it's okay please" thena assure him and letting him position him self like sitting so she could position her self better thena grab the back of his neck and kiss him and her other hand guiding Gil inside of her she gasp and groan between their kiss and Gil groan too as she lower her self fuck she feels amazing gil thought. Gil's right it hurts her fuck she doesn't realize she bites Gil until it tasted metal but gil don't even care as he only care about thena wondering if he hurt her by his thickness but thena look at his concern look and kiss him to let him know it's alright thena let her body adjust first for a few seconds until she become to move she the pain slowly becoming a sweet sensation that she can't get enough with
His entire body tingled as her smile softened from sassy to sweet, her features melting into a look of love and adoration when their eyes met. She moved slowly and deliberately when she finally did, her gaze never leaving his as she gasped and groaned again with delight as she rode him. As the tension between them grew, his own hums and murmurs blended in the air. He mirrored her thrusts, keeping the steady deep beat and cursing her name as his hands coasted down the flexing muscle of her back and came to rest on her hips. He was getting close to the edge, and he could see she was as well.
In response, she groaned his name and drew him closer, her gaze never leaving his. She exclaimed, "We should have." "Oh my god, Gil, we should've done this years ago."
"i should wore my lucky pajama much more earlier" Gil grumble When a moan tore through him, he looked at her intently as if he may say more, but decided against it. He kissed her again and gently lifted her, never leaving her as he stood. He slid them down couch by the fireplace with ease. As he raised his eyebrows at her, quietly ridiculing her earlier rants, Thena let out a throaty laugh.
When he started moving above her, her giggle quickly transformed into a moan.
Thena's gaze never left his, even as the intensity caused her back to arch up off the soft couch beneath her. He might become disoriented in their depths.
He carefully wrapped one arm around her curving spine to hold her and quickened his tempo, repeatedly ripping his name from her lips. He allowed his head sink to catch a pert nipple in his lips when her head thrown back and her walls tighten around him.
Her orgasm ripped through her, dragging him along with it. As he surged up into her, his hand pulled her hips to his and held her hard.
As he thrust up into her deeply with his final release,
"fuck!"thena only could say the continuous pulsing of her aftershocks milked him, his hand drew her hips to his and held her securely, their eyes closed and their foreheads came to rest together. After a few minutes gil get off top of her and he slowly carries her back to bed until he noticed the spot of blood in the bed his face fell into panic thinking he hurt her. Thena confused at first what changed Gil's face and she see his full concern look she spot what his looking at it's a little blood evidence that they have make love and by Gil's thickness.
"Gil? Gil look at me"thena said calmly
Gil look at her but his eyes where hurt thinking he hurt her
"I'm sorry thena"Gil started to apologize
Thena pull him back to bed and she wrap her arms around him again she look at gil
"it's okay gil you didn't hurt me you never hurt me and never will i love what we did i do not regret it"thena reassuring him seems like it convince him he run his thumbs through her cheek
"just don't want to hurt you, i love you thena"Gil said kissing her again
"i love you too Gilgamesh"thena answer back Gil wrap his arms around her protectively and pulling the blanket over them as they fall asleep didn't bother getting dress.

Hi i love your dad!druig stories, could you do one with the eternals meeting orla for the first time maybe on the way to phastos house? Happy holidays 🎅
Dad!Druig x Reader | Headcanons
Summary: Your and Druig's daughter meeting/interacting with the other Eternals for the first time
A/N: BESTIE LISTEN I HAVE THOUGHT ABOUT THIS WAY TOO MUCH. jfc I love dad!druig... buckle up bc this is a little long since I did little headcanons for each of them...with a cute ass bonus at the end
requests are open♡
Tumblr media
Sersi
Sersi ADORES Orla! As soon as she met the kid, she took up the 'greatest aunt ever' mantle.
Orla was just excited to meet her from all the stories you told her
she introduced Orla to the wonderful world of Snapchat filters
"Orla, do you want to see something funny?" she asked
Orla erupted into the biggest fit of giggles that could be heard throughout the ship after she saw herself as an old person
Sersi 10/10 is going to take her on a shopping spree when everyone got settled on earth
Orla loved when Sersi showed her how her powers worked, asking if she could turn everything into water
they're besties 10/10
Makkari
Makkari was more excited to tease Druig about being a dad than anything else!
'Being a father made you soft.' she signed up to him as she knelt in front of her goddaughter. "It's a good look for you."
Druig rolled his eyes as he leaned against the wall
Makkari was the ONLY Eternal that was allowed to tease him about it
she was overjoyed when Orla introduced herself in sign language, her little fingers slowly spelling out her name
she was so happy when Makkari gve her a sign name
"Aunt Makkari can we race around the Domo?"
'You know how that's going to end right?'
"Yeah...but I still wanna try."
Makkari let her win :')
Gilgamesh
Gil was the one Orla was the most nervous about meeting, he was big and strong, looming over her
he smiled down at her and introduced himself
he instantly turned into her personal teddy bear
carrying her around the Domo
lifting her up to the top shelf in the kitchen to get the cookies you hid
Orla was his personal taste tester while he cooked family meals again
no doubt you and Druig asked him to be your children's godfather
Thena
Thena was wary of meeting Orla
after being isolated for so long it was unusual to see a child
especially one made by 2 Eternals, she didn't think it was possible
but after Orla flashed her a toothy grin and asked the goddess to tell her a story she instantly warmed up to your daughter
showing off her weapons and letting her touch them
"She doesn't need combat lessons," you gasped
"She needs to know how to defend herself on the battlefield, Y/n."
"Orla's 6!"
Sprite
Sprite gives off older cousin energy
Orla thought she was just 'ok'
her powers were really cool but that was about it
plus she could tell Druig wasn't fond of her so naturally, she didn't like Sprite either
Ikaris
Orla didn't introduce herself to the flying one
she only met him after the fight in the amazon, she was too petrified and clung to Druig's side
and it wasn't like Ikaris made an attempt to get to know her either
she was 6... not stupid. Orla could sense the tension between the two men
so it was ok he yeeted himself into the sun
Phastos
There was an instant connection between Orla and Phastos after the initial shock went away
being a dad he could sympathize with what she was going through
so he wanted to be her best distraction
watched her while you and Druig got some rest
her favorite part was when he would let her play in his lab helping him come up with new inventions
she and Jack became best friends after Phastos introduced them when they got to Ajak's
Kingo
Kingo made Orla laugh the first time they met
he stared at her for a while, "Druig's your dad?"
she nodded happily, "mmhmm"
"Oh...wanna watch one of my movies?"
Kingo was bound and determined to make Orla a fan of his work
halfway through one of his movies she turned and looked at him, "Can we watch Frozen now?"
regardless, she was his new movie buddy even if that meant just watching Disney movies
Ajak
Orla didn't understand the concept of death
she heard everyone going on and on about Ajak being gone...dead
Orla sat next to Druig as he looked out the window
"When do I get to meet Ajak, Daddy?"
Druig's face fell. "Ajak's gone...she, ehm... passed away."
"But will she be back?"
"No, m'love. Passed away means she won't be back."
Orla frowned and clutched her pink stuffed bunny tighter, "She didn't know me."
"She did." Druig leaned forward and touched one of the stuffed animal's ears. "When mommy found out we were having you, we went to see Ajak and told her. She was the only one that knew about you, and before we left she gave you that bunny."
B O N U S HEADCANONS
Druig
obviously she met her father, but thanks to Karun who just refused to leave the battle on the beach, Orla got to see Druig for who he really was. An Eternal, a hero
she sat on the couch of Ajak's home, nuzzled up next to her dad as she watched him
Druig never let Orla see him use his powers, he didn't want her to see him as someone who controlled people just because he could
but she was in awe as she watched his blue eyes glow, golden swirls covering his body, illuminating his armor
she gasped when those same swirls appeared around everyone else
"Daddy!" She gasped, hopping into his lap, her hands pressed against his cheeks. Her eyes narrowed as she looked at him, "Make your eyes glow! Please, please, please!"
his worried face softened, "Maybe someday."
she whined, "Please!"
Y/N
Orla loved you more than life itself
she rarely saw you angry
so it was a huge thing when she saw you creating boulders out of thin air on the tv, hurling them at the man in the blue and gold suit
"Woah," she said in wonder at your powers and the cool suit you wore
you sucked in your lower lip, a little embarrassed at yourself... but then again Ikaris did try to kill your husband
"Mommy that was awesome! Ugh you're so cool."
Druig looked over to you with an amused smile
"All that just for me?" he joked
you hummed and nodded, "And I would do it again."

visitation hours
a/n: hi! another little something i thought of while rewatching eternals last night. hopes this resonates with some people. there's something i just couldn't get enough of from the domestic scenes between the eternals, when they're eating at gilgamesh's and then in ajak's house later on... i just needed to write about it, and incorporate druig into it, as well. so here it is! happy fluffy reading:)
my paypal (would be much appreciated since i’m saving up for uni next year :))
mcu masterlist
series masterlist
warnings: nothing! pure fluff because we all need it:)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A knock comes to Gilgamesh's door that rises suspicion. Thena never knocks on the door, she just comes through without warning. And no one else has visited them in a very long time. It might be Druig, Gilgamesh thinks, since he recently got in touch with Druig to help him out with Thena. And perhaps it is Druig.
When Gilgamesh walks over to the front door of his house and opens it up, he's pleasantly surprised by what he sees. It's not Thena, it's not Druig. Instead, it's Y/N. And she looks as happy and radiant as ever. “You guys sure chose a nice place to settle down.” She quips at him with that grin of hers, and sunglasses on her eyes to shield them. Gilgamesh laughs.
“Y/N!” He exclaims before pulling her into a tight hug. Y/N embraces him right back, loving the feel of her friends' arms around her, and realising she's missed it a lot. “What are you doing here?” Gilgamesh pulls back, looking over her for any sign of trouble. “It's been so long...” he regretfully admits.
Y/N shrugs. “I wanted to check in on you guys,” she says and then playfully pushes her fist against Gilgamesh's bicep, imitating a battle sound afterwards, “had missed you.” She admits, then, her big heart and emotions always floating up to the surface.
“Awh, I've missed you too, big girl,” he says and then motions for her to step inside his house, “come on, come in, I'm just finishing up on lunch.” Gilgamesh smiles. Upon stepping through the door and closing it afterwards, Y/N immediately hears a radio playing tunes from the 50s in one of the far corners of the beautiful little house. “I made this new stove for myself--well, an oven--where I can cook bread, pies, pizzas--anything I want. Pfastos would be proud, don't you think? I'm making a kitsch and desert right now. You'll want some?” Gilgamesh looks to Y/N.
And he finds her marvelling in the sight of his house. She doesn't need to ask to know that he built every inch of it himself, and she loves it. The house has the sense and way of Gilgamesh, it's so warm (even without the heat from the sun) and cozy. Full of love. Walking into the house, however small it may be, feels just like receiving a hug from Gilgamesh himself.
“This is so nice,” she tells him, finally back to reality, “I'd love some.” She nods to his question.
“Great! How long are you staying?” Gilgamesh questions as he continues preparing the kitsch, like he was before she came. He's just putting the finishing touches on the top part of the dough, and then it's ready to bake.
Y/N shrugs. “However long you'll have me.” She responds. She takes off her jacket, revealing a colourful linen blouse with a beautifully embroidered neck line that is very stylish nowadays, Gilgamesh knows that. “I'll set the table. Will Thena be joining us?”
Gilgamesh turns to Y/N slowly. “She's been very unfriendly lately,” he admits in a quieter voice, “won't eat, won't... won't even talk to me.” He sighs. Y/N can feel the anguish inside Gilgamesh and flashes her eyes silver to make part of the hurt go away for him.
“You can talk to me about that, Gil,” she says and the two lock eyes, “just us two for now.” She gives him a smile. Gilgamesh nods with a smile of his own and leaves the kitchen with the ready kitsch and desert in his hands, heading for his diy-ed oven. Y/N smiles sadly to herself and gets to searching for plates and cutlery around Gilgamesh's kitchen.
Gilgamesh turns out to be a masterful chef, and it's a surprise to Y/N that he hadn't cooked for the whole team beforehand and demonstrated these skills. The kitsch has everything in it that one could want, and all the ingredients make an incredible combination. The desert, which is a berry pie, is just as good. Y/N nearly bites off her fingers while eating.
“You eat this every day?” She asks in disbelief, her stomach full already as she keeps nibbling on the pie and its stuffing.
“Uh-huh,” Gilgamesh responds, “kinda got around to cooking ever since me and Thena moved here together.” He shrugs. “I mean, it's always something to do, something new to explore and find--combine different flavours and such.”
“Well, you make a great chef, Gil,” Y/N compliments, patting the chef's hand, “you should get one of those apron thingies, though, all your clothes will be ruined otherwise. See?” She pats a red patch on his shirt. “You've already got jam on you.” Gilgamesh looks down.
“Eh,” he moves his hand in a careless way, “I can always get more.” He shrugs. “But an apron would be nice, that's true. Would fit me, I think.”
“It would.” Y/N agrees. “But with something funny or cheeky on it.” She suggests with a chuckle. Gilgamesh laughs, too, and gets up from the table. He takes his and Y/N's plate to clean them, and wants to take the pie away, too, but Y/N whines. “No, no, leave it. I'll finish it.”
“Whatever you say, big girl,” Gilgamesh shakes his head, leaving the pie and Y/N be, and walks over to the sink. Y/N chuckles and rests her head on her arm, resting it sideways on it, and continues picking the pie apart piece by piece with her fork.
“Since when do you call her 'big girl'?” Comes a voice Y/N certainly wouldn't have expected to hear for a long time. Her eyes look up to its owner, her head still laying sideways, causing everything in her vision to appear much the same. She squints her eyes.
“Hey, Dru,” she greets him softly, but with suspicion as she eats two berries off her work masterfully. Druig gives her a slight grin, one of expectancy, and nods.
“Always have, always will,” Gilgamesh responds to Druig's question, “nice to see you, Druig. Have some pie while I clean up.”
“Don't mind if I do.” Druig responds and takes a seat directly across from Y/N at the table. He picks up a fork and looks at the girl before diving into the other side of the pie.
“What are you doing here, Dru?” Y/N asks him languidly, knowing by Gilgamesh's behaviour that Druig's arrival was expected. She just wonders why. Y/N watches Druig as he devours the very tasty pie, and she waits for his answer.
“Gilgamesh asked me to help out with Thena,” Druig mumbles, “put her to sleep while he takes some time off.” He answers.
“Oh, you're going on vacation, Gil?” Y/N looks to the chef, and he nods. “Where?”
“Fiji.” Gilgamesh answers with a smile. “I've always wanted to go there. Humans compare it to one of the Seven Wonders of the world.” He laughs.
“Oh, do they now?” Y/N laughs with him. Her and Druig's pie eating from each side has unconsciously turned into a race--who can eat more, and who can eat faster.
“What are you doing here, Y/N?” Druig asks and tilts his head so it'd be in one line with her tilted head. Y/N smiles softly at her fellow Eternal. “Aren't you supposed to be therapizing people in France?”
“Therapists can take vacations, you know, Dru,” Y/N retorts in the kindest of manners, all the while smiling softly, “I'd missed Gil,” she admits, “wanted to see how he was doing. And Thena.” A sad look crosses into her eyes. “Gil tells me she's not been so well.”
“That's what I'm here for,” Druig nods, “so this is almost like a reunion. We're one missing from half of us being here.” He says in a louder voice so Gilgamesh could hear, too. Druig grins while he speaks. Y/N smiles herself as she hears Gilgamesh chuckle.
“How's the cult going, Dru?” She teases, licking her fork clean with a grin still on her face. Druig shakes his head.
“It's not a cult, Y/N, and you know that,” he responds.
“Do I?” She raises an eyebrow. Druig raises one of his, too in response.
“It's quite alright.” Druig answers. “There've been no intrusions, everything's going smoothly.” Y/N listens to the tone of his voice as he speaks, and she squints her eyes slightly. She never did fully agree with Druig's taking over the whole babylonian civilisation and keeping them locked away from the rest of the world. But it seems as though it's what he really wanted, and still does want, therefore he looks pleased with himself. But she knows he can be better than this. “I'm ready when you are, Gilgamesh.” Druig says, turning to look at his friend.
Gilgamesh sighs. “In a second, Druig,” he responds as he's still busy with dishes.
“Let me help you, Gil,” Y/N reaches out, standing up for aid immediately. Gilgamesh looks to her, his eyes asking if she means it wholeheartedly, “come on, I'm not entirely a guest. And you already made the food, so just let me clean everything up.” Druig watches her as she stands next to Gilgamesh now, smiling kindly at him. Gilgamesh nods and dries off his hands, giving the dish-cleaning mantle over to Y/N. He goes to sit down next to Druig. Y/N keeps the water running slowly so that she can join the conversation, if necessary.
“I don't know how your whole mind thing works, but,” Gilgamesh starts to say to Druig, whose eyes are flickering between Gil and Y/N, much to her unknowing, “you'll still have to keep an eye on her. I don't want her here alone.”
Druig rests a comforting hand on Gilgamesh's shoulder, “don't worry about that. I'll be here as long as you need it.” Druig assures, and is happy to see Gilgamesh smiling at his words.
“How long will you be in Fiji, Gil?” Y/N asks him.
“Three to four weeks,” Gilgamesh answers, turning in his chair to look at Y/N, “why do you ask?” Druig has the same question in his mind as he looks to Y/N again.
She shrugs. “I can stay here with Dru, help keep Thena safe,” she suggests and then turns off the sink water as she's done with cleaning. She dries her hands in a near-by towel and turns around to face both men, her hips leaning against the sink, “you never were one good with boredom, anyway, Dru.” Y/N says, crossing her arms over her chest and grinning at Druig. He smiles faintly, knowing that it's true.
“You sure you can have that much time off?” Gilgamesh makes sure, and Y/N nods.
“I'm sure,” she responds. Her month of vacation off work will be rightly spent if Gilgamesh agrees to her staying here with Druig. She didn't have a solid plan for what to do during this month, anyway. She just wanted to see Gil and Thena, and do whatever she wants afterwards. Except, there's not really anything she wants to do. Her work is her life, and so is her Eternals family. But that family has fallen apart.
“Okay, then you're both staying,” Gil decides, “just don't burn my house down when you're making food.” He advises as he rises from his chair. Y/N laughs, pats Gil's shoulder and the man leaves for the other room. To pack his bags for Fiji, Y/N guesses.
She and Druig lock eyes. They both also grin almost simultaneously. “This is gonna get interesting,” Druig says, rubbing his hands against one another in anticipation. Y/N licks her lips and chuckles.

Everything Thena told you about Centauri-6 and the destruction of that world had been true. Sersi told everyone about what Arishem had told her and the silence of the group was almost too deafening.
The Eternals and the Deviants were made by one Celestial, Arishem.
The Deviants were brought to Earth to clear away the predators but along the way, they had become predators themselves.
The Eternals were sent to Earth to keep the Deviants from consuming the intelligent life that is humanity.
Over the years, the population had grown until it was deemed enough to start the Emergence of a new Celestial, Tiamut.
And in consequence of the event, the Earth will destruct and humanity will die.
Centauri-6 had been one of those planets. It had birthed a new Celestial. Every after mission, Arishem had cleared them of their memories to prepare them for a new world. Unfortunately—or was it fortunately?—Thena’s memories were not wiped properly and she remembered how she and the others had died so a new Celestial could be born.
From Sersi’s story, it wasn’t that they ended in death. They were put out of order. Because they were more automatons than anything; loyal soldiers for Arishem to use to further his agenda and the birth of his race. Their home planet of Olympia did not exist. Their memories were taken out of their minds after every mission for the Celestial to study. They were manufactured for one purpose only: they were merely vessels and nothing more.
You looked over at Ikaris, finding him with a stern look on his face. You reached out to him to touch his hand but he moved it away. You tried again and he only stood, putting as much distance as he can from you. You didn’t try to put a name to the feeling of how you heart broke but you knew what it was.
“How did you know, Y/N?” Gil asked you and you looked back at him. He looked grave now, more like a warrior thinking of a battle strategy. “How did you know to ask her about Centauri-6?”
You sat straight in your seat, tampering down the heartache. “There was pain and regret in her voice when she told us about it when I first met her. Confusion wouldn’t make you feel those emotions. She was remembering.”
The mood was still somber. Even your powers couldn’t alleviate everyone’s spirits because you had been surprised and hurt by the revelation as well.
“I’m sorry, Thena,” Gil said. “You had been warning us but we weren’t listening.” Thena only nodded at him.
“There must have been something wrong when Arishem tried to reset your memories.” Sprite said.
“What do you mean?” Kingo asked.
“Isn’t that what Mahd Wy’ry is? All this time, Thena was remembering all the other planets that we were sent to and everyone dying during the Emergence.” Sprite told everyone.
You sighed and looked at Ikaris. He stood by the door and was staring out at the open. You got up and made your way to him, touching his arm lightly. He started.
“It’s just me,” you told him and stood before him. “Tell me what’s on your mind, Ikaris.”
When he didn’t respond, you palmed his face and tilted his head down so you can better see him. “I’m your angel. I don’t just kick ass and take names. I’m told I’m a pretty good listener too.”
You watched his face. In a few short minutes, he had changed so much. Gone was the man who almost kissed you. In front of you now was the old Ikaris, rigid and robotic. It broke your heart to learn that he was actually more a robot than a man. He had been close to giving in to his emotions and that was enough reason for you to know that there was still hope for him. All of the Eternals in this house were one and the same and yet they had evolved to develop emotions. Ikaris should be given the chance to do the same.
He only looked at you before he brought a hand to your wrist and pulled your hand away. “You wouldn’t understand.”
You scoffed. “How ironic, don’t you think, for you to tell me that. I’m not an Eternal but I know how it feels to be lost and afraid.” You move to catch his eyes again. “I know you are. I’ve seen that look in your eyes. It’s in everyone’s here tonight. I’ve seen it on my face before too.”
“I’m not lost or afraid.” He told you. He stepped away from the jamb and back to the room.
“Then tell me still.” You insisted.
“We have to stop the Emergence,” Sersi said and you both turned to her.
“Sersi,” Kingo said with a sad sigh. “We have no right to stop the Emergence or the birth of a Celestial.”
“Maybe not stop,” she looked at the people around her. “Maybe we can delay it until we figure out how it can come of out the Earth without destroying it.”
“Can’t Druig control it’s mind? Maybe put it to sleep?” Gil said.
“Put it to sleep?” Sprite asked skeptically and with a hint of sarcasm. “Are you serious?”
“Gilgamesh asked Druig to put me to sleep once,” Thena remarked.
“So I can take a vacation to Fiji,” Gil told them with a smile in his voice. You smiled along.
“We’re talking about a Celestial!” Kingo exclaimed.
“We gonna have to try!” Sersi asked around, tone incredulous. “We’re not going to let everyone on Earth die, right?”
You looked at Ikaris again. “Remember what we talked about?” You took one of his hands in yours, letting your calm flow through him. “About your heart and feelings?”
You felt the callouses in his hand, rough against yours and remembered that each of them held a story of his life. He had always used his fists more than his heart. It was time he rested this and use the other.
He looked at you, his eyes hard. “Now’s not the time for sentiment, Y/N.”
“The world is ending, Ikaris. If we can’t stop them—”
“We? You’re not a part of this.” He told you harshly. “You don’t belong with us. You don’t belong anywhere.”
You pulled back from him, recoiling at his words. Your skin dimmed as your power died down. Cold crept up from behind you and you hugged yourself, stepping away from him.
He was right, you thought to yourself as you looked at the face of the man you had sworn to keep safe. I don’t belong with them or anywhere.
You swallowed and took a shuddering deep breath, standing tall despite feeling so, so small. “Well, sucks to be you because I choose to stay and fight.” You were proud of yourself for keeping it together despite breaking on the inside.
You walked back to the group and sat beside Gil, keeping yourself close to him. Gil put an arm across your shoulder and squeezed. You smiled at him gratefully. You were still cold from Ikaris’s rejection but you were somehow thawing with the warmth of the reception of your newfound family.
“We need to go, now.” Ikaris said from his spot by the door. “We’ll find the others. Once we’re together, we’ll decide what to do with the Emergence.”
The trip from Australia to Amazon was long. Your silence on the way made it longer. You didn’t even try to lift everyone’s spirits. They didn’t question you; they knew you weren’t one of them and you processed the information differently and deeply. You kept mostly to yourself; everyone else except for Ikaris attempted to talk to you and get you to eat but you always said no. You knew it didn’t escape from them that Ikaris was avoiding you too.
You were weary when you landed in the Amazon rainforest. It was the closest thing to the fabled Garden of Eden that you’ve ever seen but that didn’t assuage the pain of Ikaris’s words. You thought you had moved on from that kind of pain but you were wrong. You were so wrong.
Druig lived in a small village with people who were the most serene bunch you’ve ever seen. You knew they were mind-controlled because normal people would always find fault for something and fight. These people here were too peaceful that it was almost eerie. Living in the forest added to that creepy atmosphere.
You saw Sprite approach one of the villagers and spoke in their language, asking for Druig and telling them that they were friends from university. The voice that came out of the man was an entirely different language and accent.
“Hello, Sprite,” he said and you saw the way his eyes turned milky before going a solid white.
The doors to the biggest structure opened and out came Druig, looking smug and none too pleased at everyone. He only smirked at your group.
“I missed all of you,” he said wryly as he crossed his hands behind his back. “Please, make yourselves at home.”
One by one, you entered his barn, noting the lack of furniture. It looked almost like a church of sorts, wooden benches the only furnishing. It was lit with bright fluorescents and it looked too sterile and out of place for something to be in the middle of a rainforest.
Everyone took their own seats and you sat near the aisle and away from Druig. You weren’t scared of him. You knew how powerful he was with his power of controlling and reading minds. That didn’t deter you, though. You understood his cause. After all, he was demigod who held love for humanity and could only do so much.
Sersi began telling him of what she had been told by Arishem. You kept your power low, just enough for the others to feel calm whilst still having enough grasp of their emotions. You didn’t want Druig to think you were taking from him his hold over everyone.
“You gave me a lot of bad news in one go, milady,” Druig said as he looked at Sersi.
“Can you help us?” Sersi asked hopefully. Druig was about to answer when her phone began going off.
The mind-controller ignored her, walked around the place and regarded all of you. “Do you all remember this forest? Beautiful. It was the last place we all lived together. I’ve protected this people for twenty generations now, from the outside world and from themselves.”
He walked over to Karun and looked at him intently. “Your kind, my friend, you will be responsible for your own extinction one day. What do you think?”
Karun put down his camera, looking at Druig with all the respect he could muster. “I think we must all learn from our mistakes and do better, sir. You must not give up hope—”
You felt Druig’s power as you looked at Karun’s eyes turn white from being mind-controlled. He threw away the camera he was holding.
“Oh, no, you didn’t.” Kingo said as he stood toe to toe with Druig. “Okay, new rule. No more possessing people’s valets.”
“Where’s your sense of humor, Kingo?” Druig mocked.
“You’re not a god. You know that, right?” Kingo challenged.
“How ironic,” Druig drawled sarcastically. “Kingo, the movie star.”
Kingo raised a brow. “I’ve directed some movies, too.”
Druig only looked at Kingo before turning to you. “What do you have on your back?” he told you by way of greeting.
You stood to your full height, just a tad smaller than him and looked him in the eye. “Why don’t you feel them and see?”
You unfurled your wings, left wing gently reaching forward to touch his hand.
“An angel,” he said in his flat voice as he felt the lightness of your feather but you heard the awe in them. “Why are you with them?”
“I choose to stay and fight.” You told him.
“No. That’s not it.” He learned forward to you, locking eyes with yours. “Why are you here, sweet angel?”
And then you felt it. Dull probes in your mind as all the seven thousand years of your life came flashing before your eyes. It poked at the recesses of your brain, bringing out memories from your subconscious you spent centuries to bury.
You opened your eyes, looking at the wide blue before you. You didn’t know where you were or what you were but you knew you had to move because something was coming your way.
You sat up and pushed yourself against a tree. Your back didn’t immediately meet its bark because you were granted extra limbs. White, powerful, mighty wings jutted from your back. You knew what they were for even if it had been your first time seeing them.
You peeked from the tree, watching a being from afar. They didn’t look big enough to cause the rumbling that had you scurry for the tree but there were many of them. And they appeared to wearing leathers of a sort. You looked down on yourself and found that you were naked and knew you had to get some leathers so you can fully integrate with them. They didn’t have wings like yours, though, so you had to be careful.
You slowly made your way to their camp, grabbing the first piece of clothing you see and donning them behind a copse of trees. Your wings were intuitive as they did not interfere with the leathers you wore. They were both corporeal and incorporeal, however that worked.
There was a rumbling again and your reactions were instinctive because when the creature came at you, you held out a hand and out came a burst of your power. It shielded you from the monster and you drew your hand back to kick its face. It did not do much but you didn’t have to react twice because there was another flying being that shot beams of light at it. You took that opening to hide behind the copse of trees, watching as this man in a blue suit kill it.
Yes, the voice in your head said. It is him you will save.
Him. You looked at the man again, watching how he fought against it bravely. You have to save him.
Another memory was pulled from you. It was angrier this time.
The sound of the whip was nothing to the white-hot searing pain you felt across your back. You screamed as the crowd cheered, joyed at watching you in pain. Your hands grabbed on to the manacles that were slapped on your wrist and you hugged the wooden pillar as another blow landed on your back.
“You have no right to talk to the leaders! You are of no consequence!” cried the man who whipped your back.
Hot tears fell from your eyes as you were scourged before the public. Your only offense was standing up for the child who had been mistreated. You weren’t its mother or its family. You put yourself between the innocent child and the man, even going so far as instigating a fight so the child would not have the attention on it as you told it to be free. Instead, they had captured you and slapped the chains on your wrists, punishing you by whipping your back until you were sure your wings were fractured and your back bloodied and open.
“Know your place! You have no right to interfere!” cried the man as he landed more blows on your open back. “You do not belong with us!”
You cried out as you heard bone break.
More probing in your mind brought you to a different century, in a different place.
The air was cold and stagnant. They had stripped you of your clothes. The only food you had were the bowl of spoilt milk and days-old stale bread. You had been lured by a man who had asked for your help but instead had captured you for your wings.
“I would make a fortune off of you!” He said as he had other men undress you and lock you inside an unforgiving cage.
You had been there for weeks now. Dirtied and molested. People grabbed at you if they did not see your wings. Those who did tried plucking your feathers and drew blood when they pulled too hard. Most nights, the same man who took you would take you against your will, forcing himself on you because he was so enticed at the idea of bedding a pure being.
You huddled against the corner, looking at the stars through your only window. You found solace at dusk because no one would dare come out at night. It was the only time you found everything beautiful. The stars shone brightly and the world was quiet. It kept the monsters at bay.
“Y/N,” you heard a faint whisper.
You started, making yourself smaller and backing to the corner. You kept your feet away from the silvery moonlight that bled through the window.
“Y/N, it’s me,” the whisper said. A face pressed against the metal rods of your cage. It was the man’s daughter. You never got her name but she had always been curious of you.
“It’s time for you to leave,” she said.
“I have nowhere else to go,” you told her. There was no more hope in your voice.
“Anywhere is better than here, locked in this cage.” You heard keys jingling. The door to your cage opened. “Hurry before he comes for you.”
You stepped cautiously, watching for any sign of the man who had repeatedly abused you but found none. You only found his daughter and she was covered in dark bruises, from her face to her arms. Your heart called out to her and you took her hands.
“Did he do this to you?” you asked. Your violation, you could take. But his own daughter? The man did not deserve the riches that was coming to him because of you.
“It doesn’t matter,” she said as she wrapped her shawl around your bare shoulders. “You have to flee from this place. What he did to you is wrong. I’m sorry I couldn’t come sooner.”
“What will he do if knew you helped me escape?” You took the ends of the shawl and tied them firmly.
“It doesn’t matter, Y/N,” she repeated as she closed the door. “Go! Now!”
Your head pained as another memory surfaced, this time feeling it more than just in your mind.
You held the head of the man you had just slain, watching as his blood drenched the floor you were standing on. His head in exchange for your freedom. It was a hard sacrifice for an angel like you but one you were willing to make. The man had no conscience, brooked no argument as he went on to abuse you and the others.
You had been residing in a plot of land in the forest, away from the rest of the world when he and his group came and took over your village. All of the women were captured and used and slaved away, the men forced to work hard labor for no compensation. The children… The children were slain because they had no purpose.
The habitants were blinded by their promise of a better life for the village but that was before they held the residents captive and all of their resources siphoned from them. They were heartless beings who took advantage of the generosity and hospitality of the people.
It had taken you days to convince yourself that slaying them was the only option. More of the people had been dying because of starvation and fatigue. The women had been passed from men to men. You had been in their situation before you wouldn’t wish it upon others and that had been enough for you to take a knife.
Your attacks were quiet and deadly with the knife and with your power, you shielded yourself from them. You were a sight to be beheld when you glowed in anger and your brilliant light shining brightly. Your light burned their eyes first and their skin. It was an easy way for them to go. You saved the best for last and that was the leader, letting out your divine brilliancy before you sliced his neck in one smooth motion. It detached quickly from his body and you just stood there, watching as how you had executed the men who raped your home.
You knew your heart should feel heavy but it did not. You only felt triumph because finally, their reign of terror ended. You walked out of the shack they were staying and stood before the people.
You rolled the detached head to the foot of the leader, throwing the knife beside it.
“I killed for all of you,” you said to everyone. “You are now free.”
One by one, they fell to their knees. Some had cried at the sight of you, coming over to kiss your bloodied hands. They never judged you for your actions, only thanked you in their language. It was only then when you realized you were a corrupted angel; a being who had taken lives of men for the sake of yourself and for many. You promised safety and yet you killed.
And in all of your long life, you finally cried.
Your heart lurched as a familiar face appeared in your consciousness.
“Are you from here?” the man asked as he approached you. He had a happy disposition, smiling easily at you but you didn’t smile back. You had been weary of people approaching you, considering how much you had endured in the past thousands of years.
“What is it to you?” you asked, staying away from him.
“I’ve seen you lurking around here and I thought you must be from here. Otherwise, I would have to call the officers.” he said.
“No officers,” you moved away from him.
His hand clamped on your wrist to stop you and you stiffened at the contact. It had been hundreds of years since you were touched by people. It still had the same effect on you, the trauma of the millennia never leaving you at all.
“I was joking.” He let go of your hand. “My name is Jack.”
You looked at him. “What do you want?” you asked flatly, one foot out and ready to flee.
“I want to help you. You don’t look like you’ve eaten anything for a while now.”
And it was true. It was harder to hunt for food with all the modernities of the world. You stayed away from people because they always wanted something from you. You had given them everything you had and they always took. No one gave you anything back.
“I have food at home. It’s better than the scraps you’re getting from the garbage.” He gestured to your hands that were holding your lunch and dinner. Stale bread and the remnants of chicken were the best ones you have had in the past month.
“What do you want from me? Do you want to see my wings? Do you want to pluck a feather or sell me to people?” you stepped closer to the mouth of the alley towards the street.
“I just want to help,” he said. His eyes were still on you throughout the time he spoke to you. “I am not a threat. I only promise you a hot meal and perhaps a bath and some clothes, if you want them.”
“How do I know you’re not a threat to me? You all say the same thing,” you said. Your stomach sounded. You wanted to get out of that alley but he was making it impossible.
“You can alarm the neighbors if I ever do anything untoward. I promise all I want is to help you.” He held out his hand to you. “I will keep the door open so you can flee from me any time you want.”
You regarded the scraps in your hands. You were an angel, an old angel who had done everything for the world even at the expense for your soul. Was it selfish to want something for yourself?
You touched his hand gingerly, putting the food waste back on the garbage. “Promise me you won’t hurt me,” you asked of him.
He took your hand and smiled at you. “I will never hurt you.”
“That’s enough,” Ikaris’s steely voice cut through your memory.
You blinked and looked back at Druig, who now looked at you with compassion and admiration. His thumb wiped a tear that you had not realized had fallen.
“Why do you choose to fight for them if all they did is hurt you?” he whispered and in the silence of the room, it was loud enough for everyone to hear.
There was softness in his voice and understanding in his eyes. He and you were one and the same in your love for humanity despite its ugliness and fault.
“Why do you choose to love the people if all they do is wage wars against each other?” you asked instead. You took a deep breath. “I love them because that is who I am. Despite the circumstances and the pain, I still love them because they deserve to be loved.”
“Even Jack—”
“Don’t speak of his name,” you said in a hard voice. “Don’t probe my head for more memories of him. I respect you, Druig, and I hope it goes both ways.”
He watched you carefully and he nodded. “I respect you as well, Y/N. Perhaps more than these people I call family.” His thumb swiped another tear from your eye. “I will never hurt you. You have my word.”
He was suddenly yanked aside by an angry looking Ikaris, pushing his cousin away from you.
“I said, that’s enough.” Ikaris told him again.
You swallowed and touched Ikaris’s arm, willing more of your powers to him. The touch sent a shiver throughout your body and the memory of your almost kiss resurfaced. You pulled away when you saw the tension leave his shoulder, but not before you saw that he reacted to your touch—not your power—as well.
“Interesting,” Druig said as he looked at his cousin. “Very interesting, Ikaris.”
“You’ve played with her head—”
“Must be heartbreaking to find out you’re not mother’s favorite?” he taunted.
“I’m sure she’d be real proud of you,” Ikaris drawled mockingly.
“Druig, this is serious,” Sersi said as she stood from the front of the barn, facing the men.
You sat back on your bench, quiet and listening to them. Your hands shook from the weight of the memories but you held strong. The others were weak from their knowledge. They needed you to keep them together.
“I’ll tell you what’s serious,” Druig walked over to Sersi and stood toe to toe with her. “I was told I’ve been sent on a suicide mission for the past seven thousand years, that my entire existence is a lie. So, excuse me for not giving a shit about your plan right now.”
He walked to the door but he stopped beside you. “Walk with me, Y/N.”
“She stays.” Ikaris said. His tone was uncompromising, like the leader he was.
You stood and looked at Ikaris, willing your face to be impassive. “I’m not going away from you. I promised to help you fight the Emergence, didn’t I? Even if I don’t belong with you?”
Druig inclined his head towards the door and with one last look at Ikaris, you turned to go.

Hello! ✨
Something for the Thenamesh 10 Things AU!
What about some drama with Arishem. He heard a stupid rumor that his daughter Thena had some dirty time with a "bad boy" at a gas station or a workshop. Arishem was storming out of the house when Thena an Sersi came home and he yelled at her and grabbed her, trying to drag her into the house. And then, of course, Gilgamesh shows up and makes it even worse, because Arishem thinks he's this, in the rumor mentioned, "bad boy".
🖤✨Hugs and Love✨🖤
"Thena!"
Thena and Sersi both jumped as their father's voice rattled the air around them. Sersi stood from where she and Thena were sitting on the front step together. "F-Father, what-"
"Silence," the monstrous man stepped closer to them, forcing Thena to her feet with the pressure of his presence. He loomed over them. "Thena, I have heard rumours of you."
"What rumours?" she asked outright. It wouldn't do her any good to play stupid with her father. "Whatever it is, I'm certain it's false."
"Is that so?" he queried, leaning over his eldest daughter more. "I was told you went looking for...transportation."
Thena bristled.
"It is my understanding that you have formed an associative attachment with someone," Arishem paused, "less than reputable."
"Please say who you mean, Father," Thena asked, which was as good as wagging her finger and sassing him.
"Gilgamesh," Arishem spat out the name with distaste. "A young delinquent who will be lucky to graduate school, let alone attend a secondary education befitting of this family."
"And what does that have to do with anything?"
"You know the rules," he spoke deeply and evenly, eyes bearing down on Thena with her head directed at her shoes. "You do not let the common animals bed you, especially not the likes of unlawfuls."
"Father!" Sersi spoke up in a surprising bout of rebellion. "I don't know what you're talking about but Thena-"
"Was seen with this young man several times," Arishem concluded for his second daughter. And favourite, if Thena needed any more proof than this very conversation. "Including, entering and exiting his vehicle."
"I did not realise asking for a ride was strictly forbidden," Thena spoke up for herself again, which she had never done as much of in the past. But she managed to drag her eyes up to glare at her father, "truly I must be the whore of Babylon, then."
Arishem's eyes flared, only making his dark, devilish appearance even worse. "Enough."
"Father!" Sersi gasped.
"Inside," he snarled, gripping Thena's arm and dragging her up the rest of the stairs and towards the door.
"Hey!"
All three heads turned as a figure walked up the sidewalk and towards the house. "I don't know what the hell's happening, but let go of her."
Arishem stared down the young man walking towards him so brazenly. "You."
"Me," Gil made a face at him. Arishem's height didn't bother him, nor the sheer size of his figure, wide shoulders and monstrous limbs. Gil shrugged at him, moving his jacket with his hands inside the pockets.
Arishem looked down at Thena, in his clutches like a bird being shoved into a cage, "truly? This is with whom you wish to associate?"
"Father, please!" Sersi pleaded, tugging at his other sleeve in an effort to help her sister.
"Father?" he an even more sneering face at him. He walked up a few steps towards them. "You're their asshole of a dad?"
Arishem's spine straightened, each vertebra locking into place so he could glare down at the boy. "You have the audacity to address me so improperly?"
His eyes dashed down to the hand around Thena's arm. "I have a problem with anyone who handles their own kid like this."
"Gil, don't-!" Thena bit her lip as her father pulled her upwards, forcing her to stretch up with the impossible angle of her arm within his frighteningly high grasp.
"Gilgamesh," Arishem addressed, still holding onto Thena like an escaped convict. "I will say this only once: whatever claim to my daughter you think you possess, put it from your mind."
"Put it from my mind?" he repeated back as if he hadn't heard it the first time at all. "The fuck is wrong with you?"
Arishem brought his shoulders forward. "You-"
"No, you!" Gil belted back at him, jabbing his finger up in his face despite the difference in their height. Gil didn't back down in the least in the face of the monster of a man. "You listen to me, fuck-face! I don't care if you're their dad, I don't care if you spoon feed them from gold plates every single day! You don't handle them like this!"
Gilgamesh reached forward, taking advantage of the surprise on Arishem's face and grasped Thena's hand in his. He pulled faintly, but Arishem's grip hadn't loosened any.
His eyes looked as black as coal. "Unhand her."
"Stop hurting her," Gil barked right back at him. "I don't know what happened here, and I don't give a shit. She doesn't deserve this."
"Gil."
He looked at her, grief stricken by the whimper in her voice.
"Enough!" Arishem bellowed, his voice once again seeming like it could rustle the leaves in the trees. He let go of Thena, who stumbled like a fawn into Gil's offered support. "It seems I was right to deem you a lost cause."
"Who the hell talks about their own kid like that?"
"You," Arishem turned his attention back to Gilgamesh, whose hold on Thena's shoulders tightened. "If I ever lay my eyes on you again, your life in this town will cease to exist. Do you understand?"
Gilgamesh didn't even blink, holding Thena against his chest, "I understand that you're a prick who's lucky his daughters didn't turn out to be psychos too."
Perhaps with nothing more he could do to exercise control over the situation, Arishem turned and walked back into the house. The door slammed closed and Sersi's somewhat panicked breathing became more audible.
"Hey," Gil said gently, tipping Thena's chin his way, "are you okay?"
Thena just blinked, somewhat stunned by the past minutes.
"Thena!" Sersi rushed over to her, practically in tears. "I-I-I can't believe Father would-!"
Gil moved aside as Sersi threw her arms around her sister. Thena would never call herself a 'hugger' by nature, but Sersi was always the more emotional of the two of them. She patted her sister's back, "I'm okay."
Her eyes met Gil's, who still had quite a snarly look on his face. "Are you?"
Thena blinked before nodding, "I am."
Gil shifted on his feet, nodding his head in the direction of the front door, "are you gonna be okay going in there?"
Thena had her reservations, but their Father, at the very least, never dwelt on them for long. "I have no concern with what his opinion is of me. But don't worry, he would never expend the effort it would take to hurt me."
Gil eyed her arm--the one that had been wrenched upward in her father's grasp. "You sure about that?"
Sersi pulled herself away from Thena to offer a positively furious expression, no matter how tearful. "I cannot believe Father would act this way. I'm going to tell him that I will never forgive him for this!"
Thena nearly laughed, watching Sersi stomp her way into the house to give 'daddy' a piece of her mind. She rubbed her hands over her arms, "if it comes from Sersi, he is more apt to listen."
"Hey."
Thena looked at him as he placed his hands over hers, letting her guide his hands over her arms as well. She immediately thought of the hoodie that was inside, sitting on her bed waiting for her.
"Are you really okay?" he whispered, as if her father were lying in wait, listening. He ducked his head closer to hers, "you don't have to go in there. My Uncle would have no problem with you staying with us. He has a guest room!--and my room in the basement is-"
Thena smiled, tapping just the tip of her finger to his lips. She had never had the privilege of seeing Gilgamesh ramble on and on. It was endearing. "I am not afraid of my father, Gil, nor will I be afraid of walking into my own home."
"But-" he tried to protest, but she sealed his lips shut again.
"It is a sweet offer," she conceded. She never would have anticipated it, and it was almost humorous to imagine Gil just...showing up with her, like some stray he wanted to keep. "And I appreciate it. But I promise I will be fine here."
He sighed, obviously not in favour of leaving her here to whatever her father had in store for her. "Yeah?"
"Yeah," she echoed back to him, just to see a smile on his face. It was small, but it was there. "I'll come find you tomorrow--prove my living status to you."
He chuckled, stepping back from her with a roll of his eyes, "okay Princess, whatever makes you feel better."
This was very literally for his benefit. But she didn't mind that so much, "very well. Tomorrow, then."
Gil took the steps backwards, staring at her as he made his way back across the street, "looking forward to it."

Part 1 Part 2
Tumblr media
The ambiance upon arriving to the Peruvian Amazonia in your search for Druig was heavy. You kept close to Ajak, avoiding Ikaris as much as you could. Sersi tried to keep her distance and remain composed around him. She was doing amazing and you were so proud of her. On the other side, Kingo and Sprite had been at it for hours. You had forgotten how much Kingo liked to tease everybody, and it was getting to Sprite leaving her in a moody state. It was better to keep close to Ajak, who was looking after Thena along with Gilgamesh.
It was strange to see a village stuck in time, clearly under the influence of Druig. It didn’t take long to find him. And the awkward silence of the first two minutes in that chapel felt like an eternity. Until he spoke, and then Ajak revealed everything. He took it far better than you did, but it was going to take some time to convince him to join you.
“I’m not going to say anything other than I knew you were wrong.” Druig states directly to Ajak.
Ikaris gets up and gets on Druig’s face
“You have no idea what you are talking about.”
“You always wanted to be mother’s  favorite. Yet, it seems she has chosen someone else.” Druig nods towards you.
You close your eyes in annoyance, but say nothing to avoid upsetting Ajak some more. If only Druig knew the whole truth, if only everyone else did like Sprite and Sersi do. Ajak was still protecting Ikaris.
You disperse to cool off after Druig, Kingo, Ikaris and Ajak got into a heavy discussion that had nothing to do with Tiamut.
“Do you think he can do it?” you ask.
Both you and Ajak were sitting against a tree not far from Gil and Thena.
“I believe his power is strong enough to put Tiamut to sleep.”
“What happens if he can’t do it?”
“He will. I think he-”
A distant screech cuts her off, and you both immediately stand to your feet. You look at each other for a moment focusing all your senses on the distant sounds. Suddenly, you watch Ikaris being dragged by a deviant and your fighting mode activates as you begin to duplicate.
“Go with Thena!”
You shout before both you and Gilgamesh go to Ikaris aid.
You slam against the deviant and send it a few meters far away from all of you. You try to go again with a kick,  but the deviant senses your cosmic energy and charges back to Gilgamesh and Ikaris. You and your replicas end up colliding into thin air. You are quick to respond and charge back to help them both, but Gilgamesh intends  to take the deviant himself in a one on one match. You try to help, but soon are distracted by Ajak’s voice.
“Thena… remember who you are.”
You hear her soothing voice and turn to find her with her hands up in the air channeling cosmic energy. Similar to the lights forming on Thena’s face. You worry as you send your replicas after the deviant, and making your way back to Ajak. It is difficult to control both your main power and your focus on helping Ajak. You can feel it wavering as you get closer to her, slowly as to not scare Thena.
“Ikaris…” you say never looking away from both Ajak and Thena. “Help Gilgamesh.”
You see him debating for a moment and you start to lose patience.
“Go with Gilgamesh.”
You repeat yourself noting how Thena is struggling against her illness.
“I follow no orders from you.”
He says before getting in the middle of Ajak and Thena, finally getting her to act out and lose herself. They start fighting each other as Ikaris tries to stop Thena, and she tries to murder him. You feel your cosmic energy expand out your body as your replicas disperse into two directions: to help Gil and to help Ajak as you try to keep both Ikaris and Thena to stay alive as well. And it is chaos.
Your head feels like breaking into three different sections, and you are everywhere at once trying to make sense of every situation. You notice that at least five replicas are helping Gil, and three are taking Ajak further into the forest hiding from the spot that has now turned into a battle camp. You mediate between Ikaris and Thena. Suddenly, he hears something and takes off. Leaving you now with the death stare from Thena. And she comes at you at full speed with sword in hand. You have no time to think and your replicas come back to you as you try to keep Thena from hurting you and hurting herself. You barely make it the first time, but the second time she gets you with her sword piercing your stomach. And you feel the air leaving your body as the thrill sends a shiver all over your body. Pain and panic take over as you try to stay focused everywhere.
You prepare to die as Thena dematerializes her sword, expecting her to summon something bigger to end you. It never comes, instead she stands there blinking several times trying to remember something as she stares at something behind you. And in a matter of seconds she turns around with tears in her eyes, lights still forming in her eyes. Then, you see Gilgamesh being held by the deviant as it drains his cosmic energy. You try to rush to his aid, but stumble on your feet before a single replica takes after him. But it’s too late, and you watch as Thena kneels in front of Gil. In a matter of seconds, everything turns black.
_ ✽ _
The first thing you notice upon waking up is how humid your surroundings feel. Your senses spread to the rest of your body as cosmic energy still lingers there. Ajak is holding you, her face is stained with tears, and you can feel them on your face as well. She is not looking at you, instead, her broken gaze lies elsewhere. Sitting up the first thing you notice is a platinum shape; it is Thena. You get up immediately, as you remember the final encounter with the deviant. Thena sobs on the ground with her forehead pressed against Gil’s, and you confirm that he has in fact passed. No. He was murdered. Looking around you take notice of everyone else's presence with the exception of Druig. Your eyes search for that one eternal in the crowd, and when you find him a fire is set ablaze within your core. A new found rage fills your soul, and you march towards Ikaris before slamming him into a tree. This catches Thena’s attention.
“Y/N! Don’t!” Ajak rushes in your direction with pleading eyes.
“This is all your fault!” You yell out as you place your hands on his shoulder with a tight grip keeping him from escaping.
“I was just trying to help everyone else.” The words slide out his mouth with bitterness.
“No. You know what you did. It is your fault that that deviant got what it wanted.” Your furious eyes look into his icy cold ones. “Why don’t you tell them the truth?” You whisper the last part.
Ajak looks away as Sersi steps closer with tears forming in her eyes. Nobody else knows the truth other than Sersi and Sprite.
“Tell them… tell them how you tried to kill her!” The sound of your voice pierces through the forest like a thunder. “Tell them how you took Ajak to that lake with your big lies only to try to get her killed by the same deviants. How you planned for us… for ME to find her body there. All because she changed her mind about this mission.” You press him harder against the tree.
Nobody talks for a moment, but you notice everyone has gathered around keeping some distance from the both of you.
“Is this true?” Kingo asks.
Ikaris remains in silence giving the confirmation that Kingo needs.
“You don’t do that.” He says in all seriousness. “You don’t do that to family. Even if we don’t agree with their newfound plans or beliefs, we don’t harm our family.”
“He plans to get rid of everyone that comes between Arishem and his mission. He is just waiting for the right moment. And Gilgamesh was the first to pay for this.”
As you say the last part Thena gets up summoning her weapon. Ikaris pushes you away with force before taking flight. And you swear that for a moment you saw his beams forming in his eyes.
“Coward!” Thena yells out after him.
“Wait! Take me with you!” Sprite says before materializing into an illusion of hundreds of bees as they both escape.
“They’ll come back.” Thena states.
“And when they do.” You reply.
“We’ll be waiting.” She finishes.
You go towards Ajak, who in the middle of the argument left to kneel beside Gilgamesh. Thena returns as well, and they both weep for him. The others remain talking about Sprite’s sudden betrayal. Your arms come to wrap around Ajak from behind as you place your head on her back offering support. She turns in your embrace and cries into your arms as you rock her gently in soothing and consoling motions. The sight is heartbreaking and as soon as Druig shows up a funeral is prepared.
_ ✽ _
Nobody sleeps that night as thousands of questions and thoughts from the events of the day swirl in their minds. Somewhere during the night, you find Ajak staring at the ceiling wide awake, unable to sleep just like you.
“Have you spoken to Arishem?” You ask softly.
Ajak turns to look at you slightly taken aback. “No.”
You keep staring at her waiting for an explanation.
“Every time he just informs me when the emergence will occur… and there is nothing else he needs from me. My deed is done… and that’s it.” She says lost in thought.
“Have we ever been like this?” You finally ask. “In our past lives?”
She looks at you for a moment choosing her words carefully. “No. This is the first time I experience this.”
For some reason you don’t feel sad about your past life knowing you didn’t have to suffer for Ajak at the end of times.
“But,” she continues “You are new to my missions.” She manages a gentle smile.
And you can see how she tries to smile through her tired eyes as well before you fully digest the new information.
“Wait… do you mean what I think you mean?”
Ajak nods. “This is the first time we met… so, it’s really nice to meet you.”
Tears cloud your eyes at the realization of how much Ajak has changed thanks to you.
“What was it like for you?”
“It was different… from all the times I had done this. Some come and go, and that’s alright. But you have a passion that is so unlike everyone else’s.”  She makes sure to stare deep into your eyes. “I told you this before; you make your own rules. And also,” she pauses to give you a flirty look. “You are the first one to look at me like this.”
You chuckle before getting closer to kiss her lips.
“Do you think this is our last night like this?” You ask her.
“No, I know it’s not. I have faith in Druig.”
“And then what will happen?”
“And then… we wait.”
“For what?”
“Arishem.”
“Do you have any idea-”
“We’ll sort this out. And we’ll warn everyone else in this whole universe.”
And you take her word seriously putting all your trust in her, so you nod once and kiss her sweetly before trying to rest.
_ ✽ _
As promised, during the emergence Ikaris and Sprite show up. You duplicate as soon as you see him, you launch at him with your replicas surrounding him and taking turns in puching him around. The look in his face when he corned Ajak in that cliff, her face at the realization of what was happening, Sersi's tears for him, Druig's and Gilgamesh's death, all of that is coming back to you. The pain he has caused you and your family is all coming out at this moment in the form of revenge.
After he takes down the domo, and Thena joins in the fight. You are sure that you will get him this time, at least the satisfaction of seeing him in this position is almost enough. You want more, and so does Thena as she goes for the last deviant. You have no idea how many times all of you have taken Ikaris down only for him to get back up and attack you. Ajak has been holding on her own very well, with Phasto's techonology you've been able to fight beside her. But the fear you feel as Ikaris goes after Sersi is huge, some part of you knows that he is incapable of hurting her. And it is confirmed when she completes the final puzzle and is able to continue with your plan; killing Tiamut with her bare hands and your power convined.
The glorious victory against them only makes the promise of being with Ajak forever more real and emotional. You embrace her as soon as Tiamut remains frozen in time. Your lips reach for each other and seal your forever with a passionate kiss in the presence of the celestial as you still feel its power connected to you. It feels like nothing but pure bliss, you have not just gained your ever after with Ajak, but you have saved this world and all its wonders. You celebrate your victory with the love of your life and your family. And soon you find yourself in another adventure with Ajak as both of you leave to explore the universe in search of others.
“Will you miss this world?” You ask before you leave the planet Earth’s atmosphere.
“No, I have everything I need here with me.” She smiles as she pulls you close.
I feel the same way.” You grin with your eyes. “I’d follow you ‘til the end. Whenever that is.”

I Get a Sugar Rush Whenever I'm With You - Chapter 9.2
Greetings, fellow Drukkari stans! You're getting this mini-chapter while I'm on vacation, so I'm writing to you across space and time! 🤪 If you've fallen behind and need to catch up, you can find all previous installments on my Table of Contents here. Druig and Makkari have cleared the air and Druig is resolved to forget about his feelings, but can he? Find out now in the next mini-chapter of Drukkari in the Great British Bake Off!
Tumblr media
The showstopper was proving to be a bit of a disaster. Druig hadn't really thought he'd make it to patisserie week, and with all his fretting over Makkari, he hadn't practiced his bakes for this week that much. So, while the other bakers were busy perfecting their delicate gateaus, Druig was quite sure his was lopsided, and no amount of edible gold would be able to hide it. He was proven correct when Arishem pointed it out during judging. He also found the chocolate rather plain, adding insult to injury.
As with everything else, Druig pushed it aside for now, but this proved rather difficult when interview time rolled around. Considering how the challenge had gone, Darcy had Makkari ready and waiting to conduct his interview. Little did she know that it wouldn't help much this time. Druig did his best to act normal, but he could practically feel himself clamming up more and more with every question. Overall, it still wasn't his worst interview, but Makkari could sense something was off.
Despite this, Makkari didn't pry. Not yet, at least. On the one hand, Druig was grateful. After all, it saved him the anxiety of telling her what was wrong. On the other hand, it made for a pretty awkward lunch. They and Kingo were the first ones to the table. While they swapped bakes and delivered their usual praise, the unsaid words hung in the air between them, making them lapse into plenty of uneasy silences. Even Kingo could feel it, and for once, he didn't comment on it. This was the state Phastos and Gil found them in.
"Rough day, huh?" Gil said, trying to lighten the atmosphere.
"You could say that," Druig answered.
"Well, we've still got two challenges left. Things could still change," Phastos added. It was still basic, but he was picking up signs and including them where he could.
Very true, Phastos, Makkari concurred, giving him a small smile.
"Hey, at least you'll be back next week either way," Kingo chimed in.
"I suppose that's true," Druig muttered pensively. "Thank you all for trying to cheer me up, but I'd rather not think too hard about it right now."
"We can do that," Gil replied confidently. "Since we're changing the subject, should I tell you guys about my date with Thena?"
Tell us everything!  Makkari signed frantically, a smile springing to her face. Druig couldn't help but smile himself at the sight, even if he could still feel his heart sinking from that morning. With a deep breath, he tried to let the feeling dissipate as he listened to Gilgamesh go into detail about where he and Thena went, what kind of coffee she drank, and how they spent hours talking about anything and everything. And for a little while, Druig did start to forget why he was feeling this way.
-
Lunch was a nice reprieve, but once they were back in the tent, the pressure returned, along with all the things Druig had been avoiding thinking about. He'd been trying to just concentrate on the technical challenge, but with only four of them left, his eyes began to wander to Makkari's station. She was quite focused on the task at hand, making dough for her palmiers. After staring at her a moment too long, Druig averted his gaze, mentally admonishing himself. He was so preoccupied that he ended up overbaking his own palmiers, and with no time left to try again, he had no choice but the present them for judgment. No teeth were chipped, thankfully, but Druig could tell he'd earned last place this week.
Considering how well everyone else had done so far, Druig was coming to the realization that something disastrous would have to befall one of the other bakers if he was to make it to the final next week. He didn't wish that on any of them, least of all Makkari. He'd made it this far, which was much farther than he ever expected. Even so, it was not an easy pill to swallow. Druig was still grappling with this as he waited for his next interview. Another figure took the seat next to him, breaking him out of his reverie.
"So, how are you feeling about… everything?" Phastos asked.
"I should probably save some of it for the interview," Druig began, "but to answer your question, not great."
"Right, of course. Stupid question," Phastos mumbled. "Alright, I'm not great at comforting people outside of my husband and child, so I'm just going to ask what I actually wanted to ask. Just know that you do not need to answer if you don't want to."
"Okay, then?"
Taking a deep breath, Phastos let loose his question: "What's the deal with you and Makkari this week? Did you break up or something?"
If Druig was drinking something, he would've choked on it. As he was not, he merely let out an undignified noise that sounded somewhere between a snort and gasp.
"I guess I hit the nail on the head," Phastos observed triumphantly.
"Not quite. Makkari and I aren't dating."
"Oh," Phastos said, triumph replaced with confusion. "Then what have I been watching the past few weeks?"
Druig merely raised an eyebrow at this, which spurred the other man to keep going.
"Alright, then did you have a fight or something?"
"No, we just… had a misunderstanding, but we cleared that up, so everything is fine," Druig explained carefully.
"Ah, that explains why you're so busy watching her that you burned your palmiers."
"I didn't burn them, just overbaked them."
"Whatever. My point is, and again, you don't have to answer if you don't want to-"
"You say that, but you keep asking."
"And you keep answering. My point is that I can tell something's bothering you, and I know we're not exactly close, but if you want to talk about it… I promise I won't tell anyone here. Just my husband, who's been asking me about all the bakers. Also, I'd rather not have a repeat of lunch tonight at dinner."
Druig watched him out of the corner of his eye. Phastos seemed sincere enough as he awaited his response. Druig sighed loudly before giving him an answer.
"Okay, the short version is we accidentally slept in the same bed and were both a bit embarrassed. She wants to forget about the whole thing, but I don't know if I can do that."
"Oh." Phastos lapsed into silence as he mulled this over, but it didn't last long. "And you don't want to forget because you like her."
"Hit the nail on the head that time," Druig conceded.
"Well, you should probably respect her wishes, which it seems you're already doing. But clearly, it's still eating at you, so this isn't going to be sustainable. Sounds like you need to talk to her."
"You got all that from our conversation just now?"
"That and Ben's hypotheses, which I didn't put much stock in before since he was only getting his info from me, but even from my impartial observations, he could tell that you liked her," Phastos explained. "Look, I'm not one to play matchmaker or love guru or whatever, but I really don't want to deal with more awkward group meals, so for my sake, consider telling her how you feel? Unless you think that will end up making things even more awkward. You know her better than me. Just use your best judgment, I guess."
Phastos had rushed through his last few sentences as he saw Darcy approaching. As he got up to go to his interview, Druig added, "Thanks, Phastos."
The other man gave him an emphatic nod before following Darcy.
-
It was fun to write a bit more Phastos! Hopefully he's not too OOC. Let me know how I did!

Hello! Can I first just say that you are an amazing writer, I have read all of your fics and I love 'em all. I'm so hyped that you decided to do thenamesh spicy prompts! We need more spicy thenamesh fics out there lol! So, may I ask you to do number 11 or number 28? I'm torn between those two prompts, or, maybe you can make 'em into 1 fic? Or just one of them is also fine. Tysm!
I did 11 (it's here) so 28 it is!! i think this is the dirtiest one i've written so far so brace yourself 😭
28. "I want to have my way with you"
[Cafe AU]
“Slow down, love. I’m trying to give you a massage,” Gil chuckles at the assault of Thena’s lips on whatever part of his skin she can find, sitting in front of him.
“I want you,” she cranes her neck for his lips. He complies, cupping her cheek for a quick kiss before shifting his attention back to working out the tight knots in her neck and shoulders.
“Don’t tease,” she pouts, attempting to pull him back.
“I’m not teasing you,” he corrects, but his grin says it all, “You had a long day at work, let me help you relax.”
“My shoulders feel fine now,” she rolls her eyes, “You can put those good hands to better use.”
Just then, he presses down at a spot on her left shoulder and Thena sags against his chest, moaning appreciatively. He feels himself harden just from the sounds she makes, and she obviously does too. Thena presses the curve of her ass closer and starts rubbing herself all over him, her breaths quickening and hot on his neck.
“Good?” He asks, sucking at her earlobe.
“So good,” she purrs as he presses one last time on the back of her neck, before taking her hands and putting them on her breasts. He nudges at her chin with his hand, kissing her for real this time while she’s playing with her nipples over her bra, squeezing and releasing them as their tongues entwine in a slow dance.
Without warning, he slips a hand into her underwear and finds it slick with her juice. Thena arches her back when he spreads her arousal over her clit, squeezing his hand between her thighs. She kisses him harder, about to turn back and pin him down but he quickly keeps her in place. She nearly whines when he pulls back from her underwear, his thick fingers glistening as if taunting at her emptiness.
“I know you want it fast,” he peppers her face with kisses to soothe her, “But I want to have my way with you, for a little longer, is that okay?”
She smiles into their kiss, her heart swells with love at his words. Her sweet, sweet man. “What do you have in mind?” She asks.
He opens the bottom drawer of her nightstand and she gasps, “How do you know?”
“You charged it and left it out a few days ago,” he confesses sheepishly, which makes the situation almost laughable, considering he’s holding her vibrator. It’s white, bullet-shaped and 7 inches long. “I’ve been…thinking about using it on you,” he continues, his face turning a deep shade of red, “Can I?”
“God, yes.”
They get rid of the rest of their clothes and resume their previous positions. She sits between his legs, stroking his cock languidly. Her eyes follow his hands as he turns on the vibrator, taking his time to figure out the setting and choosing one that he thinks would please her most. She holds her breath in anticipation as he brings it closer to her pulsing clit, feeling its steady buzz and intensity. She jolts in his embrace as the vibrator sends blinding pleasure through her. Gil uses one hand to guide her hand on his cock, encouraging her to pump him faster. Thena spreads her legs wider, shamelessly exposing her pussy to the air when his fingers enter her. She whimpers his name, the only thing in her mind at the moment, grinding on both the vibrator and his hand.
Gil put all his mind into working her to a climax, his cock throbs in her palm. He gives the vibrator a bit more pressure, his mouth goes dry as he watches her hips lift off the bed as she comes. Hard. Her tunnel grips his fingers like a vice, her nipples taut under her fingers. He keeps thrusting until she reaches down to hold him still and cover her pussy with a small protest sound. Gil turns the device off and sets it on the top of her nightstand, wrapping his arms around her as she catches her breath. She looks up at him, her eyes hooded and he kisses her temple.
“Thank you,” she sighs.
“No, thank you. You’re so beautiful when you come, I feel like I’m the one who got a present,” he says, and that’s when she notices it.
“You…you didn’t…”
He grins, proud of himself, “Again?”
“You know me so well,” she throws her arms around his neck for another kiss.
“How do you want me?” He murmurs. She considers for a second, then moves to the foot of the bed on her hands and knees, her arousal runs along her thighs. She turns to look at him.
“Like this. Fuck me like this.”
Gil presses the back of his hand on his mouth to stiff a primal groan. Despite the fact that he won't be able to see her gorgeous face like this, he knows Thena has some of the most intense orgasms from it. And tonight she seems to be in the mood for that, he wants nothing more than to give it to her.
She presses her soaking slit on his cock the moment he comes close enough. “Please, Gil,” her voice needy, trusting only him and him alone to show it.
“Fuck. Okay. Okay,” he swallows, taking hold of her hips and sinks into her at once, burying himself in her warmth. She presses her ass against his pelvic bone, her voice rises higher and higher after each thrust. Her arms give out at one point and her forehead contacts with the mattress, her hands grip the sheets as she urges him to fuck her harder. He spreads her globes to take a better look at her pussy, his mouth long to feast on her sensitive clit as she comes. Next time, he tells himself. The action makes his cock rub repeatedly at her front wall, she jerks under him and wails her release, spasming violently around his cock, milking him for all he’s worth.
He touches his forehead on her back, breathing the same rhythm as her.
“Are you satisfied with your personal massager?”
Her laugh is as pure as a wind chime’s sound, “Very. I didn’t know he’s so good at using assisting tools.”
“Nothing pleases me more than your satisfaction,” he drops kisses along her back before hoisting her up and into his arms. He walks them to the bathroom, “Come on Princess, let’s get you clean up and rest.”

I watched eternals and ok I have THOUGHTS so I’m putting it here and I’m in a cab frantically typing this so it’s basically unfiltered thoughts kay thanks
- it’s different. It got a very obvious mainstream look. It is still a high budget, heavy CGI or like “comic book hero’s” movie but the more I think about it, the less I find a movie from the last few movies in the MCU to compare it to. So, it’s still very super hero movie, just not like the MCU.
- it’s felt a bit like watching Captain America Civil War. We know all of them, and we know they’ve interacted with each other.
- Something felt incomplete, I think it’s the limited amount we know about each of the eternals on their own? But it’s not really a problem
- seeing Kit Harrington and Richard Madden interact, with a sersi involved? The GoT/SOIAF fan in my has died. KINGS OF THE NORTH BABY!!!
SPOILERS-ish AHEAD
- Ikaris’s storyline was somewhat unpredictable, but also if the fate of his character is sealed, I just need to see what they do.
He’s also hilarious and Richard Madden has wonderful comedic timing
Also, seeing a super hero cry. Shed tears. Kill him self because he loves Sersi too much to kill her, but I’m not killing her is going against everything he believes in? I love Ikaris he is my favourite idiot boy.
- as a desi, everything about Kingo just… worked. PROPER HINDI BEING SPOKEN HAS SAVED ME AND I DONT EVEN LIKE HINDI!!!??? & THE dance sequence, the BHARATNATAYAM?? 12 year old me would learn that choreography in 5 min flat. 22 year old me will need an hour but I know I can do it.
HE SAID DISHOOM. DISHOOM.
- Sprite is such a fucking mood. Her relationship with Dane??? With Kingo?? Kingo and Dane need to meet now too, properly.
The illusions
Also when Kingo said he worked in the movies because he missed Sprite’s story telling
- Thena, my moon and stars and my favourite goddess of war. I want to hug u and hold ur hand and kiss ur knuckles baby you are loved. She can do no wrong and will do no wrong
- GILGAMESH DESERVES BETTER. I’ve concluded that Gilgamesh is a fun house husband who would make the best dad jokes. Also thena and Gil are my only OTP from the eternals. When he dies, the fkn crying.
- When Thena killed the Deviant, everyone in the room felt so much fkn relief. She’s so cool
- I really love Gilgamesh and thena so much. On their own and together
- Salma Hayek did such a WONDERFUL job, the mothering and the nurturing. GOD
- PHASTOS!!! Hilarious & romantic and a good father!! Dude just seeing him KISS A MAN on the big screen?? A MAN OF COLOUR!! GAY MEN KISS IS A MARVEL FILM GODDAMN IT. and the way he talks about his HUSBAND BEN? Wonderful. This is essentially the exchange between him and other eternals
“I thought u lost all hope in humanity”
“They remind me that there’s good left”
- Druig is a himbo I think. I like him. If I could control the minds of people, I too would contemplate taking over humanity to get rid of greed and violence etc etc
- Makkari and Druig are cute. I want more Makkari content because She is so fun. She is every quirky incorrect Marvel quote but in actuality. Also something about her signing her words brings in so much personality to her whole character
- HARRY STYLES IS EROS CONFIRMED
- MY BABY MANS DANE WHITMORE IS BACK
Overall? Imma need to watch it again to decide how much I love it but it’s a 3/5.

Eternals Spoilers Ahead!!
So I am feeling the need to pick up my shield and defend my beautiful ship of Ikaris x Sersi. I’ve seen quite a few comments about this screenshot:
Tumblr media
People talking about the body language in it and how it shows that the relationship is toxic. Whilst I appreciate that everyone has their own opinion that they are entitled to and that people interpret things differently, I am going to politely explain why I strongly, very strongly disagree.
Firstly there’s the issue that this is a screenshot from a scene that doesn’t even make it into the movie and therefore we don’t know the context of the scene. The other is like I said its a screenshot which can be very misleading. Here is a gif from the same scene.
Tumblr media
I’ve seen some people saying that in this moment Sersi is looking scared or nervous and this is because Ikaris is showing intimidating body language and to be honest when I read that I was just like what? I mean follow Sersi’s eyeline, she is looking directly at his lips, as he pulls her closer and their bodies press together her mouth opens slightly. Our girl isn’t scared or nervous, she’s horny. This is what you call sexual tension, its a classic ‘oh are they about to kiss moment’ and its very clear from the direction of her gaze that Sersi wants him to kiss her.
Also I find this idea that Ikaris tries to intimidate or dominate Sersi really funny because anyone who has watched the movie knows that man is a bumbling awkward fool whenever he’s around Sersi, I’m sorry but its true, he’s about as far from intimidating as it gets, my dude isn’t even smooth he’s a tongue tied lovesick mess about 90% of the time that he spends with her. I mean look at the way he looks at her:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Does this guy look intimidating to you because he just looks like a guy who is head over heels in love to me. There’s also this narrative being pushed that Ikaris was angry that Ajak didn’t choose him instead of Sersi and that he kept undermining Sersi’s leadership. Again really don’t agree with that and I do think this is being wildly misinterpreted. If there was one thing that was as important to Ikaris as the mission it was that he didn’t want Sersi to suffer with the knowledge of the emergence, he says to her ‘I wanted you to leave this world in peace, without knowing about the emergence. But I failed. I wish Ajak hadn’t chosen you.’ Ikaris was so determined to make sure Sersi wasn’t burdened by the knowledge that he even went so far as leaving her. Ikaris wasn’t angry that Ajak didn’t choose him he was angry that she had chosen Sersi, but not because he didn’t think Sersi would be a good leader or that she was less than him but because Ajak choosing Sersi ensured she would find out about the emergence and that would break her heart.
As for undermining her I don’t see that either. Sure he makes suggestions on what they should do next but he always defers to Sersi. For example when they are in australia with Thena and Gil and have just found out about the emergence Ikaris says they need to go and once everyone is back together they can decide what to do about the emergence, but then a nods at Sersi making sure that she is ok with that and deferring to her as she is the leader, she nods back agreeing with his plan. The same thing happens later when Ikaris tells her he is worried about Arishem finding out she is trying to stop the emergence, after she explains that she believes the violent cycle has to end he nods, once again deferring to her. It’s actually the other eternals really that undermine Sersi’s leadership by constantly bringing up or joking about Ajak not choosing Ikaris indicating that they all assumed that Ikaris would be the new leader if something happened to Ajak. Both Kingo and Sprite turn to Ikaris when they don’t agree with Sersi, they want to know his opinion showing that they value his opinion over Sersi’s. In this moment Ikaris says that Ajak chose Sersi and that it was Sersi’s decision. Sprite outright said at that point that she didn’t care who Ajak chose that Ikaris should be the leader. So whilst yes some did undermine Sersi’s leadership it wasn’t really Ikaris. He does go against her at the end but that is because he believed in the mission not because he thinks he is better than Sersi or doesn’t think she is leader material.
As for the screenshot that started this all I feel like there are alot of other screenshots that can be used to represent the ship for example this one from their wedding day:
Tumblr media
or this one where they are just about to kiss at their wedding and you can see the smiles on their faces:
Tumblr media
Or if you really need to use one from a deleted scene either one of these:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
So in conclusion, I love Ikersi and I think they have the softest, sweetest dynamic and I really hope they release some of their deleted scenes.
