His minor god kids help run it

The other gods/heroes also work there.

Ren, god of war, works with naofumi and is his younger brother.

Itsuki, god of the hunt, works at a bookstore close by.

And Motoyasu, god of sex and fertility, works at you guessed it and adult toy store. He gets great deals.

L’arc, a psychopomp, owns a custom knife shop that’s split with Therese’s jewellery shop, she being the goddess of wealth and death.

Therufumi, obviously, have been married for millennia

Welcome To My Rose Garden~

Hello everyone! Welcome to my blog! This used to be a mainly Shield Hero blog, but, after doing the same thing for more than 4 years now, i've grown a bit bored. So, I decided to change things up a bit.

For those who have stayed for my Shield Hero content, don't you worry your pretty little heads! I still plan to keep making Shield Hero prompts! However, i'll also be making prompts for other fandoms i'm in as well.

probably gonna write this out at some point but here are my scattered thoughts

Naofumi owns the Rock Valley inn & tavern, located somewhere in the forests of Melromarc, with his younger brother, Ren. As heroes descended from the previous shield and sword, they’ve known their whole lives that one day they’ll have to fulfill their roles in the waves. Naofumi is already in a relationship with L’arc and Therese, the brothers are also friends with Glass and Kizuna. They often visit the Shroud so Naofumi can do business there and gather ingredients for brewery and alchemy. 

When the first wave hits, Naofumi is level 15 and Ren is level 17. They do their best but ultimately can’t save everyone, including their oldest brother. His death triggers the curse series in both heroes, wrath in Naofumi and despair in Ren. They adopt a newly orphaned Raphtalia and she takes the position of their fallen brother, acting as Naofumi’s sword. Naofumi still blames himself for his brother’s death and resents the other heroes for not being there to help.

By the time Motoyasu and Itsuki are summoned, Naofumi is level 21, Ren is level 20, and Raphtalia is level 15. The new heroes are instructed to locate the heroes already living in the world. 

As fate would have it, Motoyasu and his party stumble upon Nao’s tavern, currently managed by L’arc and Therese as the brothers and Raphtalia were at castle town for supplies, armour and the attainment of a certain filolial. Motoyasu, ever the idiot, decides that he’s gonna talk smack about shielders to the girls in his party, playing into their religious beliefs to build himself up in their eyes. All while in earshot of L’arc. This goes over about as well as you'd expect and the spear party is kicked out without an explanation. Before anyone in the party gets too hot-headed, a helpful patron informs them that L’arc boyfriend and the tavern’s actual owner is a shielder. Whatever, they didn’t want to stay at this stupid inn anyways.

Itsuki meets Ren when he’s hunting game with Raphtalia. Itsuki thinks it’s odd these two are hunting with swords and not bows, but it doesn’t occupy his mind long. That one guy in the flashy armour makes some racist comments towards Raph, but Itsuki steps in before Ren straight up does a homicide. Itsuki apologises, saying they’re all exhausted and weary from travel and leveling. Ren mentions his brother runs a tavern nearby, but they’re only welcome if they can respect Raphtalia. they decline not wanting more trouble.

well imagine the shock when the next wave hits, the summoned Heroes see those young hunters defending a village with a dark haired man wielding a Shield.

Tate no Yuusha - Manga

I wanted to make a post about some of my favourite scenes from the manga so far. There are spoilers ahead so I will put them under the cut.

First appearance of Raruk Beruk/L’Arc Berg. He is just too cute to not captivate your heart the first moment you see him. (And my heart screams “Raruk x Naofumi or death!”. Yeah, lost cause. I see Naofumi as asexual character, maybe even aromantic one. Raruk just fits great considering those two factors).

“I am badass on my Bird” scene. I died from laughing when I saw that, because I saw it before on tumblr and thought that someone photoshoped the glasses. And here I am proved wrong and it’s fucking great! OMG xD

The implementation of the meme, which in the universe makes 100% sense.

“I am angry father of two little girls” scene. Gramps should know which topics are forbidden to talk about in near proximity of young girls in this lolicon country.

Overprotective father scene. Mostly because this scene adresses how overprotective Naofumi is and eventually leads to him letting Raphalia have some alcohol if she wants to... also this scene pulls at my heart, because Raruk is here and he is your average “party papa” which clashes perfectly with Naofumi’s “responsible daddy” behavior xD They are just meant to be together.

“This moment when you were eating alcohol fruit and didn’t pass out” scene. It’s the great comedic scene, mostly because Raruk thinks that Naofumi is just acting tough when it comes to alcohol, but he is the one who passes out after eating only just one fruit, while Naofumi ate several of them with no reaction xD

I also call this “when you thought you are strong, but passed out” scene xD JUST LOOK AT HIS FACE! HAHAHAHAHAHA! XD

The scene, in which Naofumi realises that his feelings of betrayal are irrational, when it comes to Raruk. It was great scene showing Naofumi’s development. And also it was cute scene showing that even though Naofumi called it “passing acquaintance” he cherished those moments with Raruk. The memory of him is bright in his mind in comparision to the other people who turned to be enemies.

The scene, in which Glass literally sells you the pairing. Raruk x Naofumi <3

The scene, in which Naofumi thinks about suitable companions to add to his party, but ends up thinking about Raruk and Theris. “The friends turned enemies who I trusted, but cannot hate” scene. It shows how much different not only Naofumi is now, but also that Raruk and Theris are genuine people, who managed to make Naofumi to trust them in no time despite his trust issues. As well as the fact that they didn’t do it with any ill will and Naofumi knows that.

The people worth trusting. They are the best. I love them so much! <3
