Thoughts on Nihil's robes? 😳 I'm actually a bit suprised I haven't seen many (if anyone) talk about his costume before, it's one of my personal favorites!

The colors, embroidery, cut, detailss

Hi again, I love your asks! I'm thinking the reason people don't talk much about Nihil's costume is probably because most people don't actually like Nihil 😂 I myself had never taken the time to go look at it before you pointed it out and I gotta admit it's impressive stuff!

The entire thing is very intricate with a BUNCH of gold embroidery, rivaling Copia's own papa robe. It's adorned with many grucifixes of course and also leviathan crosses and Lucifer sigils.

The piece of the chest seems to be two demons fighting each other. I'm interpreting it to be a metaphor for the infighting withing the Emeritus family, with Nihil killing his three older sons and then all the talk of killing Copia that happens later on.

The mitre is the most intricate one we've seen so far in my opinion, I love Copia's but rhinestones and embroidery aren't on the same level (altho it was all done with a machine). I really like the two praying skeletons on each sides of the big grucifix.

The fabric for the robe is the same as Terzo's except in white (obviously). I really like this fabric choice, I think it's a good sound one. I'm a bit confused as to why they put him in white when ever other papa was in black or had a lotof black on the costume. Even the chest piece goes out of it's way to not have black on it. Dark colours yes but no black.

The robe is adorned head to toe in Satanic imagery but the white really takes me out of it, reminds me too much of Christianity.

One of the more subtle detail that really sticks out to me is the choice of lining. The papa's robes have always been a plain colour (black) with a fun lining except for Copia who did the opposite. Nihil is no exception with his white robe and deep red lining. I love the little golden crosses and accents on it, I think it really elevates the whole look.

All and all it gets a solid 9.5/0 from me. Very intricate work, very beautiful symbolism but... Why's it white????

can you tell us more about your job? or maybe the sanctuary in general?

oh for sure!! i dunno if ur asking for like job advice so im gonna try to be as objective for the first part of this!

i typically work 20 hours a week, 4 PM to 8 PM on mondays, wednesdays, and fridays, and from 1 PM to 9 PM on sundays, and i get paid 2895₽ an hour. i was referred to hideaway by mu dad (not the lawyer one) and my official job title is "veterinary assistant", and important things to note are that ive been with hideaway for over a year now, and i have a cpr certification, nursing assistant certificate, and i am currently enrolled in a pokemon emergency course at nar-uva. on this blog i mostly talk about a lotta the more lighthearted/silly parts of my job like c4 the torracat and all the clients but thats also like. definitely not the full picture.

as a vet assistant, i actually spend a lot of time inside; a lot of my stuff involves cleaning the exam rooms, taking samples of bodily fluids, sometimes i help with surgery prep, and i give medications and immunizations, as well as administering emergency first aid when necessary. outside of that, i also do other caretaking activities like helping with excerise and enrichment but that is typically a secondary task for me! up until recently though, i was in less of a tradition vet assist role b/c i was assigned to take care of one pokemon in particular and i was doing more general pokemon care but only for that pokemon. it was really fun honestly, a nice breath of fresh air; i was kinda nervous at first, i opted in for personal reasons i don't want to get into in this post and the pokemon in question was considered semi-slightly-dangerous, but honestly everything was pretty swell. i dont like that word im not saying it again.

the sanctuary i work at is actually only one branch of an organization that has branches in every continent; this is the european one. there are a few asian ones (one in vijagha, one in johto, and one in hoenn), and i know unova has one too.

hideaway isn't really well known in terms of like the average joe knowing about us, but it's the kind of thing of if you're involved in conservation circles, you've almost definitely heard of us. we specialize in rehabilitation; a lot of the pokemon hideaway takes care of are victims of poachers, natural disasters, etc. hideaway also works semi-closely with a lotof governments, and our paldean branch specifically has even had paradox mons here (although i was too inexperienced at the time to handle them and even now tbh i refuse to get too close to a paradox mon.) the alola branch has taken care of ultra beasts which is. yeah no. im not transferring :(

A new experience LARPing for me right now is largely flying solo.

Back in the day my character had their crew. I had 5 people to work with, share resources, and help each other plan. We’d have each others backs. Whenever I had a scheme brewing I could bounce ideas off folks between games. I knew I had 5 people who were ride or die when I needed them. Our characters goals were aligned and we knew we could trust each other because of that.

Coming back this larp last year without my crew has still been a lotof fun. But there is a lonely element in not having those friends come back to the game too. I’ve made tons of new friends who I’ve loved bonding with in game and getting to know out of game. But that doesn’t mean our *characters* can trust each other.

My character is on a precipice. March is going to be CRAZY for them. They’re taking some wild swings and are going to either fly to safety or the wax in their wings is going to melt. And I wish I had folks to strategize with. I wish I could bounce ideas off my crew. There is a flexibility in being untethered to a group and being able to make decisions immediately. It’s not always a bad thing to not have to account for 5 other people when running on the fly. So in some ways that has also been freeing. And it’s definitely been a lesson in self reliance.

It’s been 15 months since I’ve been back larping like crazy. So maybe that sort of in game trust with folks will develop still. Or maybe I’ll continue getting more comfortable playing solo. I’ve definitely never played this hard. And I’ve never had the sort of story in front of my character before.

Either way March will be spicy as fuck. I’m organizing a large secret political meeting, I’m being framed for a murder (or maybe committing one), I’m blackmailing a noble, and I am confronting my characters arch enemy the sea witch who I used to work for. And how it all shakes out for my character is by and large on me.

anyway UMMMM fallout 4 is a fun game sometimes!! you have to have a lot of mods to like make it work and also make it more fun but i enjoy it a lot ^-^ i think that since it is only 20 dollars i can like safely recommend it to people like its super buggy and i dont like the direction bethesda took the fallout series in general but it is really fun a lot of times so i think thats ok. if it was like 30+ though i would not recommend it lol thats too much money for a game that hardly functions. i know i talk a lot about how its an awful game and it does have its flaws but i also genuinely genuinely love it a lot and i think that you should play it :)

theres a lotof different stuff for your different styles of play you can focus a lot on settlements or you can just like fully ignore them, i really enjoy all the weapon modding its super cool!! and the like big variety of factions is fun!!! and the story is like actually really fucking good like i get sooo sucked in and i get so invested

Andrew (cabes little bro) and his partner Jun. it took a LOT of time for jun, a verry conservative korean american from NY to get along with the big jock that Andrew is! but once they start being friends... after that they cant be separeted.

Andrew is 21 years younger than Cabe, and like his older brother he lived most of his life in their small town. he meet jun in the police training as a room mate and a co-student. jun is from NY, he dont show a lotof emotions and seem to do way too well in class. Andrew is... a verry energic, verry strong student but ... not verry inteligent. for sure theteacher decide to make them work together because they can both learn from each other. and they do.

8. What’s the oldest (longest since last update) fic you most want to continue (unfinished or no)?

I never really give up on ANY of my fics. Le Cri was something I actually types out a lotof the second chapter for while I was on the plane, but I don’t know WHAT happened, it no longer shows up in my GDrives. Which is a big, big F for me. I mean, it’s still CLOSE to being done, but I’m still a little heartbroken. I’ll need some time to heal. This one is important to me because in many senses it WAS the first 1789 fic I had a solid idea of in my mind, and it’s the one I’ve been committed to finishing since the beginning (even if a lot of it ended up getting absorbed by Between the Waves). The release of Untitled Goose Game has meant that I have...something....in development for Fowl Play, that should only be a couple of paragraphs away. 

And I REMAIN committed to Curl of Lip. I know that’s one people are always very worried about and, of all the sourcebooks I have on the Frev, I made SURE to take my book on the Bals de l’Opera with me when I left. This last chapter has been a slog, and so I’ve been wanting to give it a reboot so it’s the best possible version of itself (possibly via timeskip), but I haven’t given up on it. 

27. If you could only ever write crossovers or single-fandom fics ever again, which would you pick?

Single-Fandom. Crossovers are fun, but they’re HARD as far as figuring out how characters should interact with one another, and depending on the crossover, they can be hard to sell. (Not as hard with, say, 1789, the Scarlet Pimpernel, and Marie Antoinette, since they all take place at the same time, but still.) I do LIKE having other characters interact, but I consider myself MORE of a single fandom writer. 

35. Have you ever written a ship into a fic without meaning to?

It happens fairly regularly. Not as much WITH fanfic as with original stuff, but it slinks in there. (Never forget how my retelling of CMT was going to be Bres/OC until I got attached to Sreng. Never.) In general, I think I generally keep a fairly tight hold on them for a given fic, because I go IN with the idea of “you two are going to be making out by the end” and, if that doesn’t work, I scrap it, but the characters also definitely have minds of their owns.

47. If someone you know in real life who isn’t involved in fandoms asked to read your work, would you let them? If yes, what would you recommend they read first?

I’m VERY blunt about my background with fanfic, to the point where it’s probably a detriment. (I mean, it’s not like I say “Yes, I wrote two dudes banging on a printing press” to people, but people AUTOMATICALLY assign a certain value towards fanfic.) So, yeah, I would. (I mean, my mom acted as a beta reader for Forgiveness). Hm....

Either 25 Vendemaire or one of my 1776 fanfics, either Commitment or That Day’s Transaction, because in both cases, they fit rather easily into the realm of historical fiction. If you’re not USED to fandom life, those are probably the easiest to swallow in that sense. In terms of “introduce them to with the idea of getting them INTO the fandom more,” I actually think Le Cri, or at least...the outline for it, because it’s more a coming of age story, and it establishes both Laz and Ronan as characters.
