Three Principles Training – What You Will Learn In This
It is so critical to zero in on the relationship that we have with ourselves as the relationship we have with others will constantly be restricted by the relationship that we have with ourselves.
This can carry similar customers to their business, make to a greater degree a specialty market, and help in cultivating a fondness between the three principles training coach and their clients. Life coaching approaches vary, just as spirituality can be expressed in a variety of ways.
Tumblr media
What you need to know?
The three principles coach relationship with each client will differ, just as each client will require different skills to master. Integrating otherworldliness with the interaction loans to a fuller encounter for the people who are involved.
For instance, you become an individual who defines an objective and perhaps that objective is bigger than your mental self-view or that is what your character affirms You're somebody who must show up for every other person however you cannot put yourself first.
Learn from the best
This then compels you to make an objective that expects you to put yourself first where you currently need to behave destructively; furthermore, unknowingly there is a part of you dismissing the thought immovably saying probably not. The objective conflicts with who you are and this is what the three principles facilitator teaches you.
Your main goal is to get your life in order. The primary purpose that each of us has is to learn to love and get to know ourselves, as well as to connect with everything that we are.
As a first step toward altering your self-perception and retelling your story, here are some actions you can take right away to effect that change. It is all about embracing success and allowing it to stay in your body when you experience the full spectrum of success.

Hi!! I love your blog(and your content) im just wondering if you know about any documentaries or articles that talk about the history of physical training in football? it might too specific but i think you're the only blog who talks about 80s/90s football
This is actually a very interesting question, and as far as I know I don't there are any specific articles or documentaries covering the whole of the history of physical training (particularly in soccer). It might be worthwhile to look at each individual manager to see who they were influenced by.
Notably, Jose Mourinho as well as other Portuguese coaches like Marco Silva and Nuno Espirito Santo are very influenced by Vitor Frade who developed the idea of tactical periodization:
Tactical Periodization challenges the reductionist thinking of football, where different dimensions of the game (physical, technical, tactical, psychological) are trained separately. The conventional approach of separating the game’s dimensions doesn’t follow the logical order of the game and does not provide the optimal learning and training methodology for players (Oliveira R., 2014). The game of football is naturally chaotic. Two teams of eleven players, one ball, each team defending a goal and trying to score on the other, all this happening while a referee tries to enforce the rules of the game. Each team has a strategy of how they will influence the outcome of the game and establish a set of pre-determined behaviors based on different situations, attempting to bring “predictability to the unpredictable”. Together, the aforementioned variables add a multi-layer level of complexity to the game, and it is impossible to observe different components in isolation without changing the game’s identity. For this reason, Aristotle’s expression “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts”, applies to the game of football and for understanding the level of complexity involved in it. (Tamarit, 2015; Mallo, 2015)
from Understanding the Tactical Periodization Methodology
I remember reading that Barcelona during the dream team tended not to have very intense training sessions, and instead focused on the 'rondo'. I think a part of that was because Cruyff wanted to kind of 'play' with the football players as an active participant rather than an observer so didn't want to focus too long. I think that the physical training that the players do is probably influenced by the previous playing experience of the coach, and whether they view themselves as an 'observer' or as a 'participant'.
Pep confidential by Marti Perarnau delves into Pep's fitness training pretty indepth and in particular his work with Lorenzo Buenaventura who was strongly influenced by the work of Paco Seiru¡lo (who also worked at Barca) and the idea of the 'structured microcycle' (which differs quite a bit from tactical periodisation):
Buenaventura uses Seirul.lo’s ‘structured microcyle’ approach which involves short training cycles over three to five days, focused on one area. It might be strength — resistance, elastic strength or explosive force depending on the player and the particular stage in the season. Training sessions simulate the technical and tactical aspects of the next game and the ball is always used. In other words, the players train in the same way they play. Guardiola’s principles underpin every aspect of training and before the session he and Buenaventura agree the day’s tactical and technical objectives. These then become the focus of the session. One day it might be bringing the ball out from the back, the next they'll work on pressing the opposition from the point at which the ball is lost, and so on. Consequently in this, Bayern’s first session, the ball will play a starring role.
What's notable to me at least, is that both tactical periosation and the structured microcycle resist the 'quantification' of athletic performance. There is a greater emphasis on sensation, interconnection and feeling than there is on data, statistics and so forth. Personally, I've always felt that soccer has been resistant to the excess of numbers that is so present in other sports so this is just another example of that. This is a good interview with Seiru¡lo which explores that idea.
I think when it comes to the Premier League, Arsene Wenger is usually credited as someone who brought a lot of innovation particularly when it came nutrition and training. He was influenced by Paul Frantz and the idea of 'plyometrics' exercise:
For training sessions, Wenger was the first to arrive and the last to leave. And it was here that he was at his most dictatorial. He ran things by the stopwatch. "It was just very, very organised and very detailed," says Platt. To the annoyance of the players, games were timed to the second - no more than 10 minutes each way - and if they ended in a draw there was no golden goal, but penalties. When the goalkeeping coach Bob Wilson prepared Seaman and the reserve keepers, he would know his time was up when Wenger called over and said, "Bob, you've got two minutes." Which meant 120 seconds. According to Martin Keown, "We don't overtrain by a minute. It's all timed scientifically." A typical session would last no more than 45 minutes. One area where timing was applied even more strenuously was in a form of muscle-strengthening exercises known as plyometrics. Isometric exercises are a form of muscle-strengthening exercises that don't put any strain on the joints. Plyometrics involve much more strain but produce vastly more dramatic results. Long used by sprinters, hurdlers and jumpers to build up power levels, the exercises were new enough to English football that Wenger had to demonstrate them himself. They involved sudden ballistic movements in the form of bounding exercises - hopping, skipping and jumping. Wenger used them to top up the conditioning of super-fit players in the midst of an endless blur of matches.
from Wenger: The Making of a Legend
Anyway, I could go on forever, but it appears to me that there isn't necessarily a clear 'progression' when it comes to physical training but rather competing sets of ideologies on how to approach the optimization of athletic performance within sports and particularly soccer.

Summary: Science teacher, Mr MacTavish is losing his mind over you, the new history teacher. His friends and fellow staff members have all had a chance with you, and like to bring it up during their weekly poker games, but due to coaching & after-school activities, he hasn't had a chance to shoot his shot. The guys come up with plan to help him.
They were talking about her again.
They also talk about her.
"You do know there are other women right?" Came my snide remark, causing the three of them to stop talking, look at me and laugh.
"Oh come off of it. You are just jealous that you haven't had a chance with her yet." Price said, smirking as he puffed on his cigar.
"I wouldn't have signed up for after-school duties if I knew about her." I wanted pout, knowing that I am just to damn busy with coaching and clubs after school.
"You do know that you two are chaperoning the dance right?" Gaz said to me.
"Yeah, well, can't do anything with a bunch of teens around. Isn't it our job to stop them from having sex or drinking?" My tone was mocking.
"Something could happen to her car, and you have to drive her home." Simon said, making my head turn so fast, not believing what he is saying.
My mouth hung open, I for once in my life speechless.
"I do believe you are on to something Simon. Get ready Soap. You are about to have the time of your life." Price slapped my back, a bit to hard, but I closed my mouth and continued to listen to them talk about her until it was time for them to leave my home.
Tumblr media
It is the night of the Halloween dance, and even though I didn't want to chaperone it, I knew this was the best dance to chaperone compared to the other ones.
It went off with only a few of the kids acting up. Caught the usual kids trying to sneak alcohol in, but just confiscated that.
Some got caught smoking weed, but I just told them to go back inside like I didn't see or smell or anything.
Now it is the end of the dance, and as her and I were checking around the school grounds, making sure that there were no stragglers.
"You can go home, I will lock up." I told her.
"Thank you." She said with a tired smile.
I couldn't help but watch her ass as she walked away from me. I cleared my throat, turned back around and continued to do what I was doing.
◆
I closed up, already not looking forward to coming in tomorrow and helping the dance committee clean up.
I walked outside towards the teacher's parking lot, and I could see she was still there.
Shit, I didn't think they were actually going to do something to her car.
"You good?" I called out to her, and she turned around to face me.
"I don't know what is wrong. It won't start." I could tell she was upset.
"It's late, I'll drive you home." I offered her.
"I can call for someone to come out." She said to me.
"You will be waiting for hours. I'll drive you home, pick you up in the morning and bring you back here. I'll call Simon as he is coming in tomorrow morning, and he can take a look at your car. He is good with cars."
"If it isn't going out of your way, Mr MacTavish."
I gave her a soft smile when she said that. Finding it adorable that she still can't call us by our first names.
"Even if it was, I don't mind. Come on, tell me the way to your place."
◆
This is going to be one long ride, as she lives out in the country.
There was some small talk until there was silence. It wasn't uncomfortable silence, just I could tell she was tired.
"I should buy you coffee or something as a thank you for this Mr MacTavish."
"You know you can call me Johnny."
"I know, but this is our first real time together."
"But we are colleagues and hopefully you see me as a friend."
"Okay Johnny." My cock twitched in my pants, when she said my name.
"And a coffee sounds great." I told her. Out of the corner of my eye I saw her looking at me and biting her lip.
"Turn up here." She suddenly said.
I did as she asked, turning down some dark abandoned road that I have only seen when driving by here.
I heard her unbuckle her seat belt and I turned my head to look at her, acting confused.
"How about I show my thanks now, and still get you that coffee in the morning." She leaned over and ran her hand up and down my thigh.
"Yes." Was the stupid answer that slipped from my lips as she got closer.
Her lips touched mine and it was like I couldn't hold myself back.
I kissed her, hard, the two of us moaning into the kiss.
Her hands went for the zipper on my pants and lifted my ass off the seat to help her out.
I shuddered once my cock became free, the air a bit chilly.
But I moaned, loudly once her mouth wrapped around the tip of my cock and started to suck.
I felt her moan around my cock, my head leaned against the headrest, my eyes half open as I looked down.
She reached for my hand and placed it on the back of her head as she took me deeper into her mouth.
Fuck, the guys were right. Her mouth really did feel like heaven.
I am enjoying her mouth, my hips bucking up as she moved her head up and down.
Then she pulled away, and hovered over my lap before I could blink.
I put my seat back as far as it could go with one hand, and the other hand I gripped the base of my cock as she slid down it.
"Motherfucker." I grunted as she gasped out my name.
My eyes screwed shut at the feeling of her pussy. She really is tight. The guys weren't lying.
"Johnny. Feel so good." She moaned as she started to bounce in my lap.
I couldn't think property, but when she moaned my name again, I became almost feral.
I wrapped my arms around her and planted my feet as best as I could, fucking up into her.
"Yes say my name."
"Johnny." She cried out, just before she kissed me, nipping my bottom lip forcing a whimper from me.
She pulled her head back, as I angled my hip just so and making sure to hit that spot inside of her.
"Johnny, right there. Right fucking there." She cried out, and how I could say no to that as her pussy clenching around my cock each and every time my cock nudged her spongy spot.
I could feel my balls starting the tighten, fuck.
"Come on I need you to cum for me baby, cum for me." I was almost begging as I started to bounce her even harder in my lap, my hand slipping by mistake, and the tips of my fingers landing between her ass cheeks.
"Yes Johnny, do it." I didn't know what she was meaning until she reached around and spread her ass cheeks.
I placed a finger against her whole and slowly pushed in, not wanting to hurt her.
"Add another." She gasped and I did that, twisting my fingers just a bit and that seemed to do it for her.
She screamed out my name as she came, her pussy and ass clenching my cock and fingers so tight I swear my eyes crossed.
I came as she collapsed against me, her moaning as I filled her pussy with my cum, my fingers still twisting in her ass.
"Such a long drive back to your place. Come spend the night." She said to me, making my softening cock twitch inside her pussy, as I pulled my fingers from her ass.
"Okay." My brain was almost like mush as she reached into her purse and pulled out some handwipes for me to clean my hand with.
I put my cock back in my pants and started up my car.
She sat in my passenger seat, and I just knew our combined juices were leaking onto my seat, but I didn't care.
I have a feeling when we get to her place, there will hardly be any sleep, and I will fucking a whole the other guys haven't even touched

Ruben Dias - Offside Hearts Part 3/16
*Warning this story contains topics that might be sensative to some
Prologue Part 1 Part 2 Part 4
Tumblr media
Rúben Dias, a 26-year-old star defender for Manchester City, finds himself at a crossroads when his casual relationship with a woman leads to an unplanned pregnancy. She decides she doesn’t want the child and offers him a choice: she’ll carry the baby to term, but she won’t be involved afterward. Despite the challenges, Rúben agrees, driven by his own principles and a desire to give the child a loving home.
Enjoy! ❣️
It would take Ruben three months and a couple of visits from his parents to feel like he finally got a hang of his life again.
It was certainly turned upside down the day his son came into the world. Ruben hadn't gotten a full night's sleep since, which wasn't an ideal change of lifestyle for a professional athlete like him. But despite the many challenges, Ruben was determined to raise his children right.
For his son's first year in the world he planned to hire a full time wet nurse that could not only feed the baby but also be a maternal presence in his son's life. Ruben could only imagine having to grow up without a mother. His son would grow up to have many questions. Questions that Ruben promised to answer truthfully one day, so that his son could understand that despite how he came into this world he was very much wanted and loved by Ruben.
Even before the baby's arrival. Long before it actually. Ruben had a maintenance company come over and secure every inch of his luxury apartment. He had them remove all pointy edges, mirrors, glass bottles— you name it. Anything that could potentially harm his son had to go.
It eased his mind, knowing that he was leaving his infant son in a secure household. Although, Ruben might have taken things too far installing a high security camera in every room in his apartment, including the babysitter's room.
"Isn't that illegal?"
Ruben stood on the ball, pausing the play between him and his teammate. "Illegal…?" He thought about it, but dismissed the question with a shake of his head. "No, I don't think so. How could it be when it's my apartment and my son?"
"But it's creepy." Bernardo said, receiving Ruben's pass and returning it immediately. "At least you have to agree with that?"
Ruben stood on the ball. once more pausing the play. Scattered on the grass field surrounding them other players were doing the same, passing a football between themselves to the displeased gazes of the teams coach and assistants. Ruben was glad to be back training, however it ached his heart that he had a very good reason to stay at home.
"Ruben?" Bernardo alerted. "Did you hear what I said?"
"That I'm creepy for installing a camera in someone's bedroom. Yeah, I heard you." Ruben chuckled and returned the ball.
"And?—"
"The security system isn't for me to abuse Bernardo. It's to ensure the safety of my son."
"You're unbelievable, did you know that?"
Ruben laughed. He had much respect for Bernardo, his best friend, who had much to advise and educate Ruben on what it takes to raise children. However, with all due respect, Bernardo was a married man, with a stay at home wife who took care of the majority of things involving his now three year old daughter. All Bernardo had to do when he came home from training was to play with his baby until she fell asleep. Ruben on the other hand, was a single father, having to figure it out all on his own.
Not that he was complaining. But it was far from easy. Ruben would never admit to it, but the fear of failing as a father sometimes kept him up at night.
"Why don't you and the baby come over for dinner tonight?" Bernardo suggested. It would be the third time that they would've done so this week. Ruben had begun to suspect that Bernardo and his wife was just making sure that he hadn't fucked it all up yet, after his parents traveled back to Portugal at the end of last week.
"I dunno, I'm really tired, and I have a meeting with my lawyer this afternoon."
"Yeah, how so?"
Ruben shrugged his shoulders. "Perhaps something came up about the final settlements."
"Oh, okay. How about this weekend then, after the game. You should come over for dinner, Ines is cooking."
"That sounds nice Bernardo, really. But I just think I'm staying in this weekend."
Bernardo stood back with his hands on his hips and a smug smile on his face.
"What?" Ruben frowned.
"Nothing. I guess I just have to get used to the new you."
"The new me?"
"Yes. The new Ruben Dias. The responsible father. The retired party animal. No more fiesta!"
Ruben smirked as he passed Bernardo the ball. "Well, I guess you're right about that." Too much partying is what left him with his son, Thiago. Although he was a blessing to his life, Ruben was done with the rogue lifestyle he was once a custom to. A lifestyle that often resulted in brief night's with eager women who he never saw again. Perhaps it was time for Ruben to finally settle down and find someone that could accept both him and his son with no alternative motive. But due to his chosen profession this was most likely impossible.

Yuka Orihara wants to be Finnish
another article in helsingin sanomat on the subject of yuka's citizenship (24.4.2025). article summarized and translated by yours truly
"the finnish people know how to give others space. a calm rhythm in life is also good," thinks yuka orihara who grew up in tokyo and now lives in helsinki.
orihara arrived in finland in 2019 chasing her figure skating dream after having been left without a pair while training in canada. maurizio margaglio, who coaches in finland, had his own part to play.
"maurizio knew my then coach in canada. they spoke to each other about how juho and I could form a pair. they gave my contact info to juho and he contacted me. then we met and everything has worked out great since then," tells orihara.
according to orihara the pair's cooperation works brilliantly.
"juho has a great sense of humor, so it makes training even more enjoyable."
finland has two spots for the olympics 2026 in italy. however, it is not all that certain that orihara and pirinen can participate, as one must be a citizen of the country they represent.
orihara is a japanese citizen. she is applying for the finnish citizenship.
"the process to gain finnish citizenship is on, so I could compete in the olympics. but I'm not sure how it's progressing. it seems to be very hard," says orihara.
orihara has applied for a permanent residence permit last autumn, and will be taking the language exam in may. according to her, the next chance at the exam is in august.
"maybe I won't pass the exam in may yet, but it's a good test and a good experience for me, even if I don't pass. I hope I can pass it in august at the latest. as far as I know I would have one more chance to pass in november, but I am aiming to not having to go to the exam in november."
orihara says she studies finnish every day.
"I try to use it every day in my daily life. studies are going well, but I would say that grammar is the hardest part in finnish. one word can change its form many times and sometimes it's difficult for me to get."
as a principle japan doesn't grant dual citizenship. the japanese people who voluntarily accept another citizenship will have to forfeit their japanese citizenship.
according to orihara this is also the case with her, should she be granted finnish citizenship.
"undeniably it is a difficult thing for me," is all orihara will say about the matter.
still, orihara says she has adjusted to life in finland well, even though she does miss her family and friends in tokyo.
"whenever I think about home, nowadays it's finland."
"for example tokyo is of course a lot bigger than helsinki. there isn't as much to do in helsinki as there is in tokyo, but here you learn to calm down and appreciate ordinary things even more—for example just an ordinary sunny day. I appreciate this about finland."
"nothing feels odd or annoying, but I hope there would be more of certain clothing shops here."
whether it's finland or japan, orihara cannot be without her cats.
"I have six cats with my family in japan, and three here in helsinki. life would be impossible without my cats."
"in my free time I usually take dance classes or just spend time with my cats," she says.
orihara says she is deeply grateful for all the cheer and support she has received from the finnish people.
"I hope to become a skater who inspires and cheers on a new generation of finnish figure skaters!"

anyway i will reserve judgement for team performance after the first regular season game
for the preseason games we see that steph white is freestyling out there 😭 but honestly the coaching has been very solid. it’s just that we don’t have the correct personnel to execute so everything gets fucked up. kelsey mitchell can’t ice a ball screen. sydney colson is a guard who can’t shoot but she’s putting up how many shots.
but again it’s the preseason and it seems that steph white is just giving everyone some burn. we’ll see.
full thoughts below
as per usual caitlin should always be the worst defender on the floor but time and time again she’s not. and that’s saying something cause she was atrocious defensively.
kelsey mitchell has been terrible. she has horrible defensive IQ, instincts, and physical attributes — we know this. but her offensive IQ is also really bad. every decision she makes is 2 seconds too slow, she doesn’t know what the best shot is on the floor, always dribbles into traffic. she’s a volatile scorer, efficient in the past but unreliable. not even sure if she’ll be efficient this year with that hand issue. we need to weather that storm if we want to win a championship. a player at her height she should be a microwave scoring option in the bench. but ofc she’s not doing that...
she doesn’t communicate on defense, does pointless movement that just places us at a disadvantage, can’t execute basic defensive principles.. she’s 29 years old. she is who she is at this point.
caitlin needs a defensive backcourt partner. 3&D. i am absolutely enamored with jackie young and i hope we can get her next year. perfect for what we need. we can’t have caitlin picking up the opponent’s best scoring guard. she needs to rest on that side of the ball and she’s not exactly jrue holiday.
natasha howard has impressed me so far. she sets solid screens, has improved on defense since that mystics game, and seems to have the BBIQ we need. she can make layups and free throws i could cry. when she’s not doing forced post-ups i can trust her to put the ball in the hoop. just a massive upgrade from nalyssa smith in that position. really happy because i was so low on her after that mystics game.
dewanna bonner has great chemistry with caitlin, at least from what i’ve seen. her length on defense is amazing for us and she can actually draw fouls i could cry. her head is always on a swivel, constantly looking for caitlin, and she just has this vet savvy that we missed last season. those fastbreak layups she kept hitting with caitlin... i could cry man. i really could.
sophie cunningham has been an amazing fit with us it’s crazy. her as a backup ballhandler caught me off guard but it was a pleasant surprise. that post-entry pass to AB in the 1Q of the dream game was another pleasant surprise, she read the floor well and executed great. another player always looking for caitlin, can hit threes and layups reliably. great for team defense, communicates well. someone mentioned to me that she was out of position last year so got a bad rep lol. her as a return for nalyssa is great.
aliyah boston has been good defensively but for some reason in the 2nd half bri jones just started scoring on her 😭 idk what happened, i’m gonna have to try to finish my rewatch. unfortunately her finishing is bad... she has a tough time converting around the rim for some reason. i hope it gets better. she used to lead the league in efficiency. but atp i can’t trust her to take the leap we need. but i will be pleasantly surprised to be proven wrong. i will always be rooting for AB. she’s young and has so much developing to do, and a very cerebral player. great passer too.
caitlin has been playing with a quad issue so... i’m not gonna harp on it and be doomerish. she was guarded with that leg, probably why she wasn’t running at full speed or attacking the rim. but evaluating her as she was, she looked the exact same as last year... numerous times the floater was there and she didn’t take it. again, probably preseason and recovery. but will be looking for that when the season starts. she has put on so much strength that her jumper just looks fluid and effortless. handles and passing a bit rusty but she needs reps to get into game rhythm.
she hasn’t taken over like i expected her to... but that could be because it’s the preseason and they’re trying out different lineups, schemes, coverages. but taking things at face value, i want her to be more of an aggressive scorer.
this offball shit is just... we don’t have the personnel for it man. we need smart players who can make quick decisions, who will always look for caitlin. the possession shouldn’t end in a contested kelsey mitchell midrange jumper or a natasha howard post-up against bri jones with caitlin holding her hands out wide open. again, the coaching has the right idea, but execution is bad because personnel isn’t it.
people keep saying i complain about everything. look at this roster. look at our spacing. we paid two non shooters max contracts, which is fine i guess, we probably had no other options. but i’m allowed to point out that deficiency. cause it’s gonna bite us in the ass. but god forbid i say anything cause some people will tell me to find another team to support!
for offball action i want caitlin involved. setting screens, getting mismatches. not standing around in the weakside corner while the action happens on the opposite side of the court far away from her. but apparently this means i hate the coach! go figure.
but again, the preseason has been experimental and i understand why. i just hope we can execute when the time comes. we’ve obviously went away from the shit that worked previously, like caitlin handling the ball, or ABC² PnR, hell we didn’t even run in transition. it makes sense if steph white wants to dissect film.
but there were some bright spots in the preseason. CC to DB connection, kk timpson has been an absolute steal of a pick, caitlin’s 3-ball, our free throw shooting.. lots of things to look forward to. but of course my natural inclination is to want to fix the problems, and that’s what i’ll be pointing out. sue me.
so that’s basically all my thoughts. that, plus caitlin needs to get a whistle ASAP. not trying to see her get the steph curry treatment on the court.
anyway let me know y’all’s thoughts. maybe we can have some actual basketball discussion. or go to my ask box and say i’m an annoying hater, whatever gives you joy, but i’m deleting that shit lmfao

Not the original anon but reading your answer to the safety on road ask was so fun!
If you have time, could you please rank the following ancient Romans based on how good of a podcast they could produce?
Cicero, Julius Caesar, Brutus, Mark Antony, Cassius, Octavian, Agrippa, Catullus
Cicero would be the first century Joe Rogan, if you define a "good" podcast by it's popularity then definitely he's successful. If you want accuracy and quality maybe look elsewhere but regardless it will be considered entertaining usually
Julius Caesar - Some people listen just for entertainment like it's a good novel, some people religiously follow his pod and swear everything he claims is true. He's often flagged for fake news but he maintains he's absolutely done all the things he claimed to, up to and including the frequent allusions to his many love affairs with married women. His casual fans are fine, that hard core contingent that takes him at his word is toxic as hell and often makes people avoid his podcast but the casual fans are just there for the fun. Sorta like Star Wars fandom vibes
Brutus - his podcast is the opposite of Cicero's it's good, it's really good, it's also only got an audience of a couple hundred and a lot of those are his relatives or family friends, but he perseveres in sharing his deep insightful takes even if most of the people are just listening out of politeness
Mark Antony is podcast god. Everyone loves his show, unlike Caesar he really doesn't care if you believe his escapades are real or not. It's basically like drunk history without the history it's just him cracking up with some friends over drinks and taking the piss out of whatever the weeks topic is. It only gets serious when someone mentions Cicero and then Antony will get upset and either go on a tirade, which will make for a popular episode (some guests will deliberately trigger his Cicerophobia just for this reason) or he will drink too much (even by Antonian standards) and sulk and then the episode will have to abruptly end there
Cassius - I feel is the most likely to have like the life coaching, how to have confidence and succeed kind of podcast. He's relatively popular but never top of the charts and he doesn't mind. He feels he's helping people, he does resent that Caesar's hyperbolic tripe is consistently ranked higher than his thoughtful insights about how to make a better life for yourself
Octavian - he has listeners only because people wanna know if they're on his good side or if they should start selling their stuff and leaving Italy before it's too late. All his other listeners are either bootlickers, trying to casually bring up topics he discussed to make him feel validated and save their necks, or they listen because they're afraid he can somehow see the lists of names of who listens and if they're not on it he might add them to that OTHER list ie. The Proscriptions. Exactly two people willingly listens to three podcast and that's Agrippa, Octavia, and Attia and even Agrippa usually just has it in the background and is only half paying attention and Octavia is the only person to ever give him even a mild critique of his presentation
Agrippa - he only got a podcast because Octavian told him he should have one too. But while no one willingly listens to Octavian's Agrippa's smaller fan base is much more loyal and love listening to him give insights on military tactics and history and it's absolutely a fan favorite moment when he's at home to record his episodes and he has his sons on for a small segment where he lets them explain whatever strategy they employed in their games that day and he'll always find a way to adapt their child's play to a real life battle principle.
Catullus... I am sleep deprived and tired and my mind has blanked on who Catullus was
So instead I'll give you Cato. The Alex Jones of his day. He will rage daily and just keep getting more rabid, he is the king of the conspiracy theory contingent of podcasts. He will warn you about threats that 90% of which are invented and the other 10% somewhat accurate but wildly misrepresented.
*my comparisons to modern podcasters are based off of vibes not inferring that this person was the same in any real way

The Netherlands authorizes Ukraine to use donated F-16 fighters to attack targets in Russia
Dutch politicians follow the same decision made by Denmark on the use of the F-16 for attacks within Russian territory.

The Netherlands announced that it will allow the Ukrainian Air Force to use the 24 F-16 fighters it will receive by donation to be used in attacks against targets within Russian territory.
The Dutch Minister of Defense, Kajsa Ollongren, confirmed that the Netherlands will not impose limitations on the use of F-16 jets. This decision marks a divergence from Belgium's policy, which limits the use of its donated F-16s.
Tumblr media
In an interview with the newspaper Politico at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, Ollongren said: "There is no [a restriction to the Belgian style]. We are putting into practice the same principle that we apply to all other supplies of capacity, that is, once it is delivered to Ukraine, it is theirs to use." She added that the Netherlands only asks Ukraine to comply with international law and the right to self-defense, as established in the United Nations Charter, ensuring that the jets are used to achieve Ukraine's military objectives in self-defense.
Ollongren and U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin were among the senior officials who met with the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, at the Singapore conference. Denmark also approved Ukraine's use of F-16s provided by Denmark against military targets on Russian soil. Germany has also indicated that Ukraine can use weapons provided by the West for its defense.
Tumblr media
Recently, the U.S. authorized Ukraine to attack Russian territory near Kharkiv using U.S.-suplied weapons, confirmed by President Zelensky's spokesman, Serhii Nykyforov, on May 31. However, Washington continues to restrict the use of long-range weapons for deeper attacks within Russia. President Zelensky has expressed interest in using long-range weapons, such as British-made Storm Shadow missiles, but the United Kingdom has not yet fully authorized their use, possibly awaiting a clear position from the White House. The issue has been discussed twice with UK authorities, but remains dependent on a broader international consensus, particularly the US position.

if YOU had to pick a girl from the group to date, who would it be? and what boy you'd pick? i think i'd date areum and for the boys i'm a mark girl... but also i have daddy issues so i would totally date coach suh!! (jeno would destroy my soul in the process) (the rest would't take me seriously)
hi love, i totally get why you’d go for areum and mark (and coach suh, omg that is so real??), because choosing from this group is actually impossible. everyone’s hot, emotionally messy, and would absolutely ruin your life in the best and worst ways. but okay, here’s me trying to narrow it down…
my top three boys:
jeno — he’s the one you fall for first. always. there's something about the way he watches, how intensely he listens when he actually cares — it makes you feel chosen in a way that breaks you. he’s passionate to the point of devastation, physical to the point of worship, and so damaged that loving him feels like holding a match to your throat. he's addictive. he'd kiss you like you’re air after a drought, fuck you like it’s the last thing he’ll ever do. but the tragedy? he’d never tell you to stay. he wants you to know to stay. and that ruins you.
mark — mark is the safest unsafe person. the kind of boy who knows exactly when to kiss you and exactly how to pull your hair mid-sentence. he's principled, patient, but once he locks in? you're done. he doesn’t just want your body — he wants your mind, your thoughts at 2AM, your worst day, your best. and he’ll remember all of it. he’s gentle in ways that feel earned. but when the clothes come off? he's possessive, dirty, unrelenting. the kind of man who’d whisper “mine” so quiet it echoes in your spine for days.
yangyang — he's fun until he's not. he's playful, cocky, so good at pretending it doesn't matter. until it does. he’s the type to say “just one time” and mean every lie in that sentence. he makes you feel untouchable, like you’re part of an inside joke only he knows the ending to. but then it’s 3AM and he’s pressed between your legs saying “tell me it’s only me.” he’s the kind of boy who laughs when you come and kisses you when you cry. and fuck — you'd go back every time.
for the girls, obviously it's y/n.
y/n — are you kidding me. y/n is the kind of girl who’d ruin your entire life without meaning to. she wouldn’t even try. she’d sit on your lap in her oversized hoodie, call you “sweetheart” and then five minutes later tell you she doesn't do feelings while fucking you so good your knees give out. she likes control, but the kind that has you begging for it. she’d pin you down and say “you wanted this, remember?” while you’re shaking under her, overstimmed and desperate. she makes you work for it and that’s the sexiest part. she’d own your mind, your body, your playlist, and you’d still lie to yourself saying it’s casual. it never is with her.
so if i had to pick?
girl: y/n (she’d destroy me but i’d thank her), boy: mark, because if i want to live through the relationship, he’s the only one who’d make the aftermath worth it. (but jeno would absolutely wreck me emotionally and yangyang would have me crying in a locked bathroom at some club in soho, and i’d still text him ‘you up?’ at 2AM).

Trigger Warnings: implied infidelity (which is false), implied abusive behavior (which is false), deceiving behavior, etc. For @casinotrio1965 .
------------------------------------------------------------
Dr. Jiminy: So, Pinocchio, did you know Alison wasn't your daughter?
*shocked gasping from the crowd*
Pinocchio *raises eyebrow*
Alice *giving Jiminy the 'are you kidding me look'*
Lampwick *from the cro wd* Yes, he knew! We all knew ! You knew!
Dr. Jiminy *flustered* SECURITY!
Lampwick *running from security* I REGRET NOTHING, YOU OVERSIZED GRASSHOPPER!
Dr. Jiminy: FOR THE LAST TIME, I'M A CRICKET!
Alice *to the crowd* for the record, my daughter is adopted. I didn't even marry Pinocchio until She was 6 months old— something that, as her godfather pointed out, Jiminy was aware of—
*The screen briefly goes black*
------------------------------------------------------------
Tumblr media
------------------------------------------------------------
Dr. Jiminy: The people wanna know Alice. Pinocchio. Is Pin adopted—
Alice and Pinocchio *annoyed* NO! YOU KNEW THIS ALREADY!
------------------------------------------------------------
Dr Jiminy: So, Lampwick was it—
Lampwick: Don't act like you don't know who I am. You've known me for years!
Dr Jiminy *ignores him as he pulls up an audio-less video of Lampwick punching a guy* Is it true that you can be jealous?
Lampwick *raises a brow* Why? Are you interested Beetle?
Lampwick: Well that's what it sounds like. Sorry Beetle, you aren't my type.
Lampwick, waving him off: Tomayto, tomahto.
Dr Jiminy: For your information, I am a CRICKET  not a beetle—
Dr Jiminy: It is not the same thing—
Tiger Lily *bored* Why are you arguing with him? You know you're only making it worse.
Dr Jiminy: It's the principle of the matter!
Tiger Lily: Well good luck with that. I'm gonna go pick my daughters up from school and get a slushie.
Dr Jiminy: You can't just—
Tiger Lily *leaves*
------------------------------------------------------------
Dr. Jiminy: So. You three.
Coach Jenkins *sitting on a couch next to Taran and Eilonwy, softly* Don't.
Dr. Jiminy *continues anyway* What do you have to say about the rumor that Eilonwy is cheating on her husband, Alexander, with you two?
Eilonwy *glaring darkly at Jiminy*
Taran *embarrassed* It's not true.
Coach Jenkins: Which you know and anyone with common sense should know.
Dr. Jiminy: And what does Alexander have to say, Eilonwy? Why isn't he here?
Eilonwy: Because he's in rehab again because of you. You should be ashamed of yourself—
*Screen goes black again*
------------------------------------------------------------
Narrator: Next time, on Dr. Jiminy—

"In this video we cover the basic techniques of parrying described in Meyer's 1570 Sidesword/Rapier treatise. This is not intended to be a complete disassembly of each technique, rather it is a generalised overview with some consideration of important points in the movement. This is the first of at least 2 videos covering the techniques and principles of parrying in the context of Meyer's system."

Written for @teenwolf-meta's Meta May Monday prompt: Place.
Teen Wolf put a lot of focus on Beacon Hills High School as a location. Even the 2023 movie, which took place in 2026, spent significant time at the school. Scott McCall, the lead protagonist, had been graduated for thirteen years; why was this one location so important?
On the surface, it could be as obvious as the show being about teenagers, but I don't think the decision was that shallow . I think there were three very important reasons that it was a primary setting.
To serve production needs. At the end of Season 2, the production moved from Georgia to Los Angeles. The reasons for this I have only encountered peripherally, but none-the-less, it did create a certain disconnect in the minds of the viewers. Beacon Hills High School not only had a sudden change in floor plan but it had a definite change in climate. There were now palm trees! Yet, the series did not avoid the contradictions. Of course, all productions face financial limitations; this production seemed capable of having only a certain number of sets, which, for example, is why the new library in Season 5 was clearly Derek's loft repurposed. Practically, a high school would be an easy location for the principle cast to encounter each other. There would no need to explain why, for example, Stiles and Scott would see Lydia coming up the sidewalk as in Wolf Moon (1x01) or why Mason would be talking about their Friday night plans with Garrett and Violet in The Benefactor (4x04). In addition, it would be an understandable way to introduce new characters, both adult and teenager. There could be new hires, new transfers, or even characters the audience had not met before that the principle cast had and yet not discussed.
To serve thematic needs. I have stated before and I will state again, that I absolutely believe that Teen Wolf is a bildungsroman -- a story exploring the spiritual and psychological transformation of a child into an adult. In our modern culture, this frequently happens in high school, for this is where the protective authority of parents and family begins to give way to acts of self-determination. Relationships with friends become more complicated, with the increased importance of social strata, the emergence of sexuality, and the recognition of impermanence. For the teenagers undergoing this transformation, the world becomes less welcoming even as they gain more agency, and part of that is the transformation of school from a safe space (sorry, Natalie) to an area of contention. There are suddenly consequences to action and inaction. The gulf between the protagonists, who have up until this point been children, and adults becomes less and less clear as they begin to share both opportunities and complications. The teenage protagonists also discover that there is no guarantee of fair treatment from adults, evidenced by the bitter hostility of Adrian Harris to the incomprehensible and comedic self-absorption of Coach to the well-meaning but predatory academic ruthlessness of Mrs. Finch. To be in high school no longer means that it is beneficial to allow others to make their decisions for them. Who are you, really?
It also serves one of Jeff Davis's favorite themes: recursion. Students graduate and are replaced by new students, who must face similar crises in the process of growing up (though hopefully not as violent). Beacon Hills High School showing up in the movie was no more nostalgia than the flashback to Derek Hale's high-school experiences in Visionary (3x08) or 117 (4x02). What Derek experiences in high school has bearing on what Scott experiences in high school has bearing on what Eli experiences in high school. In the series, the differences between Derek's and Scott's and Liam's experiences are compared to each other, such as in the outcomes of their first loves. Likewise, in the movie, Scott isn't longing to be a teenage alpha/lacrosse captain again; he's coming to terms with the terrible trauma of his high-school-era experiences by helping Eli through the terrible trauma of his high-school-era experiences.
To serve as a storytelling tool. Teen Wolf is a tale of danger, terror, and horror. One of the easiest ways to create that tension is to transform the common everyday parts of life into something that is threatening and out-of-control. Think about Night School (1x07), and the utter menace of Beacon Hills High when there are no lights and no people. Think about the twisting of normal fun activities -- lacrosse games plagued by a star player suddenly tearing himself open or pursued by a gigantic beast or being stalked by extra-dimensional cowboys. Think about how many times the locker room -- a place where students are frequently vulnerable while changing clothes -- is a place where teenagers get trapped in lockers or showers or darkness.
It's also a way to signify danger. The enemy invades a place that is supposed to help teenagers learn and grow while hanging out with their friends, and this perverts into a place where they have to constantly be on their guard. The principal is suddenly a man who wants to manipulate teenagers if he can or kill them if he can't. The guidance councilor has her own agenda in fomenting supernatural genocide. Teachers, who are supposed to be showing teenagers the truth of the world they are going to responsible for living in, turn out to be never what they seem, whether as harmless as protecting his nine-centuries old wife by lying or by offering teenagers as human sacrifices or by being a temporally-displace Nazi.
High school, just like the world, isn't all bad of course. High school has a benevolent purpose, just like many people have benevolent intentions. Other guidance counselors can present characters with alternatives to being a victim or running away in terror. Friends made there who will stand together against the darkness. Teenagers can learn leadership skills on the lacrosse field and can learn knowledge in the library that can help one survive. A benevolent and influential family might even have arranged the high school be built on the confluence of ley lines, not only to protect their secret vault, but also because it might keep certain supernatural creatures out.
Beacon Hills High School played a significant role in Teen Wolf not out of lazy decisions but about the focus of the story on transformation. Children become teenagers become adults who help other children become teenagers become adults. Or, those characters with sinister intent transform twist a civilized location into threatening one so often that it becomes an identifying mark. The production made proper use of this setting.

20 Headcanons I have about Chris/Una/La’an as a family in an Earth AU
Chris is Girl!Dad
Una is Mommy
La’an is baby girl
1. La’an still loses her family and Una still rescues her, but Una begs Chris for them to adopt her and he agrees in an instant.
2. That first night they put La’an to bed together. Una wakes up in the night in a panic. Something feels wrong #MomInstincts. She goes to check on La’an and she’s silently crying and terrified in the corner of the room, but making no sound. Una picks her up, wipes her tears and cuddles her. Takes La’an back to her and Chris’ bed.
3. Toddler!La’an likes to spread Eagle across the bed. Una and Chris often wake up in the middle of the night to a little fist or leg in their face. Without a word to Una, Chris gets them a bigger bed.
4. Toddler/Young girl La’an is a thumb sucker
5. Chris gets addicted to Kids TV, he has lots of thoughts on Bluey, Peppa and Dora. Una is confused. La’an finds those shows boring but watches them anyway because it makes her Daddy happy.
6. All throughout elementary school La’an goes to school with immaculately braided hair. This gets the attention of the other school Moms, and soon Una has an unofficial role at birthday parties to make sure everybody has ‘princess hair’
7. When Una is on a work trip or otherwise unavailable Chris braids La’an’s hair. He’s pretty decent.
8. Una gets jealous when the other school moms flirt with Chris. Chris makes it up to her when they’re alone.
9. When La’an gets bullied for her being a Noonien-Singh Una sees red and definitely threatens the principle, Chris uses his dimples to smooth things over.
10. Chris as stay at home dad(?) making pancakes for breakfast every morning.
11. When La’an is sick Chris makes her the best home-made soup and they sit on the couch and La’an cuddles in Chris’ lap.
12. Chris is the most excited of the three to go to Disneyland. He begged Una for months for them all to go visit.
13. He carries La’an on his shoulders and points out all of the Disney Princesses correctly for La’an to see.
14. Chris most definitely wears Minnie Mouse ears, the entire time. Una has to remind him to take them off when he goes to shower.
15. He also ends up on the DilfsofDisneyland Instagram page (this is a real thing)
16. La’an makes Chris this absolutely hideous T-shirt at school that says “Galaxy’s best Dad” but he loves it and wears it absolutely everywhere for a week…until Una conveniently shrinks it in the wash. They stick it on a teddy bear instead.
17. Teenage La’an and Chris share a bond of watching sports games together on the couch. Una doesn’t understand.
18. Chris AND Una both coach La’an’s sports team.
19. La’an and Una head butt a lot in La’an’s teenage years. Chris looks on in fond amusement over how similar the two are.
20. Chris and Una dropping La’an off at college/the academy. Both Una and Chris cry…a lot, and La’an tells them not to be so dramatic. “But you’re our baby girl!” Replies both Chris and Una through the tears. La’an rolls her eyes but lets them hug her tightly anyway.

When Henry Ford switched his factory in Highland Park, Michigan, to this method in 1913, the labor-hours required to produce a Model T dropped from 12.5 to around 1.5.
--
A simple alternative emerged: using visible activity as a crude proxy for actual productivity.
--
If you can see me in my office—or, if I’m remote, see my email replies and chat messages arriving regularly—then, at the very least, you know I’m doing something.
--
As the twentieth century progressed, this visible-activity heuristic became the dominant way we began thinking about productivity in knowledge work. It’s why we gather in office buildings using the same forty-hour workweeks originally developed for limiting the physical fatigue of factory labor, and why we feel guilty about ignoring our inboxes, or experience internalized pressure to volunteer or “perform busyness” when we see the boss is nearby. In the absence of more sophisticated measures of effectiveness, we also gravitate away from deeper efforts toward shallower, more concrete tasks that can be more easily checked off a to-do list.
--
PSEUDO-PRODUCTIVITY The use of visible activity as the primary means of approximating actual productive effort.
--
3 Principles of Slow Productivity
PRINCIPLE #1: DO FEWER THINGS
Strive to reduce your obligations to the point where you can easily imagine accomplishing them with time to spare. Leverage this reduced load to more fully embrace and advance the small number of projects that matter most.
PRINCIPLE #2: WORK AT A NATURAL PACE
Don’t rush your most important work. Allow it instead to unfold along a sustainable timeline, with variations in intensity, in settings conducive to brilliance.
PRINCIPLE #3: OBSESS OVER QUALITY
Obsess over the quality of what you produce, even if this means missing opportunities in the short term. Leverage the value of these results to gain more and more freedom in your efforts over the long term.
--
A coach named Laura, for example, reported that she simplified her practice by reducing her offerings down to a few key services. “Since figuring this out,” she told me, “my brain is calmer, the quality of my interactions is stronger, and my work quality is higher.” As a result of this higher-quality work, she now makes the same amount of money working fewer hours.
--
A teacher named Aurelia, fed up with the overload that’s endemic in K–12 education, quietly adopted a clear rule: “I no longer do work that is not compensated and clearly expected as part of my job.”
--
Overload is not fundamental to knowledge work. It’s instead largely a side effect of the crude ways in which we self-manage our work volume.
--
Mission can sound grandiose. For our purposes, we’ll demote it to a more pragmatic definition: any ongoing goal or service that directs your professional life.
It’s hard to specify the optimal number of missions, but generally, less is better than more. There’s a romance to focusing on a single pursuit, but this level of simplicity is typically accessible only to the most purely creative fields—Hemingway at Key West, banging out his morning pages on his Corona typewriter. Two or three missions are more tractable and still quite minimalist.
--
Missions require that you initiate “projects,” which is my term for any work-related initiative that cannot be completed in a single session. Some projects you complete once and then are done, such as updating the sales copy on a product website. Other projects are ongoing, meaning they unfold without any clear stopping point, such as answering support queries from clients. Projects create many of the concrete tasks that take up your time during the day.
--
Feynman, then a professor at Caltech, gave to the BBC show Horizon:
"To do real good physics work, you do need absolute solid lengths of time . . . it needs a lot of concentration . . . if you have a job administrating anything, you don’t have the time. So I have invented another myth for myself: that I’m irresponsible. I’m actively irresponsible. I tell everybody I don’t do anything."
--
Pull system
Transition from a system in which new tasks could be pushed onto their plate haphazardly to one in which they would pull in new work only when they were ready for it.
The first step in simulating a pull-based workflow is tracking all projects to which you’re currently committed on a list divided into two sections: “holding tank” and “active.”
When I say “projects,” I mean something substantial enough to require multiple sessions to complete. (Strategies for containing smaller commitments, which we call “tasks,” were discussed in the preceding proposition.)
When a new project is pushed toward you, place it in the holding-pen section of your list. There is no bound to the size of your holding tank.
The active position of the list, by contrast, should be limited to three projects at most.

Send an acknowledgment message that formally acknowledges the project that you’re committing to complete, but that also includes the following three pieces of extra information: (1) a request for any additional details you need from the source before you can start the project, (2) a count of the number of existing projects already on your lists, and (3) an estimate of when you expect to complete this new work.

Here’s an example of an acknowledgment message:
Hi, Hasini, I wanted to follow up on our conversation from earlier this morning and confirm that I’ll take charge of updating the client section of our website. What I’ll need from you before getting started is a list of what elements you think the new section needs (or a link to another company’s site that you think does it right). At the moment, I have eleven other projects queued up ahead of this. Based on my commitments to these existing projects, my best guess is that I’ll be able to get to this in roughly four weeks after I get the needed information from you. I will, of course, update you if this estimate changes. – Cal

You should update and clean your lists once a week. In addition to pulling in new work to fill empty slots on your active list, you should also review upcoming deadlines. Prioritize what’s due soon, and send updates for any work that you know you’re not going to finish by the time promised. These cleaning sessions also provide a good opportunity to remove from your holding tank projects that are languishing. If you’ve delayed the same project again and again, for example, this might be a good sign that you’re not really equipped to handle it, or that it falls outside your comfort zone.

WORK AT A NATURAL PACE
MAKE A FIVE-YEAR PLAN
DOUBLE YOUR PROJECT TIMELINES
By deploying a blanket policy of doubling these initial estimates, you can counter this instinct toward unjustified optimism. The result: plans that can be completed at a more leisurely pace.
SIMPLIFY YOUR WORKDAY
Apply the heuristic of reducing whatever task list you come up with for a given day by somewhere between 25 and 50 percent.
A good target is to ensure that no more than half of the hours in any single day are dedicated to meetings or calls.
