Gentle
pairing: Loki x female reader
synopsis: You don't think you're ticklish. Loki offers to prove you wrong.
word count: ~3500
warnings: lots of swearing, sexual tension, suggestive jokes and innuendo, possessive!Loki, minor violence (training sparring)
minors dni: this work does not contain smut, but does contain a sexually-charged relationship between the reader and an adult-aged character. I am not comfortable with engagement from anyone under the age of 18. Thank you for your understanding and respect.
note: This fic is for all the people who aren't affected by rough and tumble tickling. Who know that gentle can still be ruthless. I see you.
Tumblr media
Sam was grounded.
So while he was strong, fast, and stubborn, he didn't have his wings. No aerial advantage.
And you were sharper. You moved with practiced ease, letting him tire himself out as he swung and lunged across the sunken sparring pit, meeting his strikes with sidesteps, well-placed counters, and a smirk you hoped was infuriating.
He went for your ribs.
You caught his wrist. Twisted. Used that leverage to hook your legs around him, then used his thrown balance to send him down.
His back hit the mat with a solid thud.
For a moment, he just blinked up at you, winded and momentarily stunned.
You grinned, settling your weight on top of him, knee digging into his ribs just hard enough to remind him who the boss was. "Tell me," you mused, "who did you say was getting their ass handed to them today?"
Sam huffed, mouth pursing into something half-annoyed, half-amused. "Yeah, screw you."
You arched a brow. "Not much of an apology."
His jaw tensed, eyes narrowing. A second’s hesitation. You pounced.
Your fingers slipped under his ribs, pressing just enough-
"Shit!"
Your smirk quickly became a grin.
A choked laugh ripped out of him before he could stop it. He bucked violently, twisting beneath you as laughter tore through him like he’d been struck by lightning.
Your hand followed wherever he turned. "Something wrong, Wilson?"
"You demon-" He twisted again, finally using sheer force to throw you off. You hit the mat with a sharp roll over your shoulder, coming up to your feet in a fluid motion, laughing as he swore under his breath, breathless.
You two weren't the only ones laughing.
Thor chuckled, amused. Bucky smirked, arms crossed. Steve shook his head, exasperated. And Loki...
Loki was watching you like a cat watching a caged bird.
He tilted his head, eyes sharp, lips lifting in a slow, knowing smirk. "That," he said, "seems like an extraordinarily reckless tactic to introduce."
You dusted your hands off. "How so?"
Loki’s smirk widened. He took the bait. "Because every person in this room is stronger than you. And now you’ve gone and planted a very particular idea in their minds."
His gaze dragged over you, slow and deliberate. You crossed your arms, lifting that same brow in challenge. Giving him space to continue monologuing.
"I mean, really," he mused in a silken voice, "do you truly want to tempt fate by giving them the notion to simply hold you down and take their revenge?"
The air shifted, and you held back your confident smirk, just to play with him a bit. "They're welcome to try."
Bucky stepped forward, rolling his shoulders. "It's futile." He shot you a begrudging look. "We learned a long time ago - she’s not ticklish."
Sam snorted. "Yeah, and it’s annoying as hell. Not many ways to get her back for all that sass."
You shot him a sly smile.
Loki made a sound in his throat - amused, unimpressed. "You’re wrong."
Your eyes slid back to him, fixing him with a look. "Wrong? I'm not ticklish, Loki."
Loki’s lips curled into a smirk. “Yes, you are.”
Tense silence fell upon the room as the others turned to Loki, confused, silently hoping.
The moment stretched, electric.
Smirking eye contact, the crackle of something just shy of violent, just shy of something else.
You squinted. "I'm not lying. I've never been ticklish. Ask anyone in here."
“Hmm, I'm sure they have tried with their clumsy mortal hands,” he murmured, voice low, rich, laced with wicked amusement. “I, however..." His smirk grew downright devious. "I could take you apart without breaking a sweat.”
Your stomach did something sharp and treacherous. The heat in your face spread down your neck before you could help it.
Sam snorted. “Oh my god.”
Bucky shook his head, muttering something under his breath. Steve exhaled through his nose, clearly regretting his life choices.
You, however, refused to flinch.
“Yeah, right.”
Loki chuckled, slow and dark.
“I’ll gladly prove it,” he insisted, voice a lazy taunt, “as soon as you’re not afraid to submit to it."
The words pushed like a slow blade between your ribs. The challenge, goading you to agree to being pinned and tested, for him to catalogue your responses. It’s not like he was going to succeed in tickling you, but submit?
No way in hell.
Your mouth parted in a scoff, heat flushing your neck, your cheeks, something sharp already forming on your tongue-
“Okay, this,” Sam interrupted, pointing one hand at each of you, “is the one of most sexual things I’ve ever seen in my life, and I once walked in on Thor oiling himself up for battle.”
You lunged.
Sam yelped, dodging back, but before you could reach him, a familiar arm hooked around your waist, effortlessly hauling you back onto the mat.
Bucky didn’t even flinch. “Easy, killer."
Loki chuckled, low and pleased, as you pushed Bucky's arm away.
“I do so enjoy this part,” the god mused.
You exhaled sharply, still flushed, still coiled tight with something restless and unsatisfied. You took the bait. “What part?”
His gaze flicked to yours, amused, knowing. “The part where you pretend to be annoyed.”
The others snorted.
Your mouth opened, but before you could fire back, Loki winked, turned, and made to leave.
Something in you rebelled.
“Hey!" You called after him. "Come put your money where your mouth is, Your Highness."
Loki stopped.
He exhaled a low, dark chuckle, then, slowly, began rolling up the sleeves of his tunic, baring forearms lined with lean, deceptive strength.
“I didn't think,” he murmured, “you'd want an audience for what’s about to transpire.”
Sam made a strangled noise. “I hate this. I hate this weird foreplay.”
Thor’s booming laugh filled the room.
"Of course I want an audience," you hummed, ignoring the riffraff. "I want them all to witness you making a fool of yourself." You stepped back onto the mat, uncrossing your arms, opening your stance. "But I’m not submitting. If you want me at your mercy, you’ll have to earn it.”
Loki turned back, and - lazily, deliberately, with a smirk that was pure sin - prowled toward you. “Very well,” he purred with a tilt of his head. “Let’s play.”
But the moment his feet hit the mat, you got the sinking feeling that you'd just walked into a trap.
You’d never sparred with Loki before. Hell, you’d never even seen him fight outside of an actual battlefield, where his chaos and skill blurred the line between strategy and sheer fucking audacity.
But now, circling each other under the dim gym lights, with him as your adversary, you saw raw, precise power coiled beneath his deliberate movements, waiting to unravel.
His stance was fluid, deceptively relaxed. Beautiful, cocky bastard. Every shift of his weight, every flicker of his gaze, calculated. You could tell he was watching you, reading you, in a way that made heat lick at the base of your spine. And deep in your belly.
So you lunged first.
In the blink of an eye, he dodged, slipping around your advance like a fast-flowing stream through your fingers, barely exerting any effort. Your body twisted, adjusting on instinct, throwing your weight into a feint before coming back around, aiming for his side.
But again, he was faster.
Loki flowed around your strike like water, his arm shooting out with lightning precision. You barely registered the movement before his palm landed solidly against your ribs - not with brute force, but a firm, pointed push, sending you stumbling off balance.
You caught yourself, breath coming sharp through your nose. He stood there, utterly at ease, watching you with a glint of amusement.
Smug, infuriatingly hot, cocky bastard.
You exhaled. Steady.
Regrouping, you moved again, but this time, you were smarter - testing- feeling out the way he reacted. The next time he dodged, you anticipated it, twisting mid-motion and using his own momentum against him, catching his arm and yanking.
It almost worked.
The instant you felt his weight shift, you knew - he’d let you do that.
You barely had time to react before he countered, twisting with impossible grace, his body moving like an under-sea shadow. You felt it before you saw it.
His hands on you.
Turning.
Your feet ripped out from under you.
The mat met your chest with a harsh thud, your breath shooting out of your lungs in a rush.
Your wrists flexed, instinctively pushing to lift yourself up - except one of them wasn’t moving. Something heavy and warm pressed you down.
Your pulse jumped.
Loki was above you, his thighs caging your hips, one hand securing your wrist above your head. Your left side was left exposed, vulnerable. You snuck a glance at the rest of the team - on your... right - he chose to test the side they couldn't see. Why?
There were more important matters to tend to.
You struggled, but his grip was like iron, pressing your wrist into the mat, keeping your body still beneath his. The sheer weight of him was suffocating, and intoxicating, his lean muscle like warm steel.
The sound of your panting filled the space between you as you used your free hand to push against his knee, against the mat, to try and pry his hand off your wrist.
Nothing budged. Nothing. Especially not you.
So, finally, you gave up the fight, relaxing underneath him, letting your forehead fall to the mat as the others chuckled on the sidelines.
A low, satisfied, hum rumbled from his chest.
You clenched your jaw, ignoring the way the heat from his body seemed to sink into yours. “Yeah, whatever. You're a thousand-year-old god, of course you're gonna win."
Loki chuckled. And that sound - deep, smug, thoroughly entertained - was infuriating.
You scoffed, and gave a snarky chuckle, lazing your head to the side, not the slightest bit concerned. "Well, go on. Do what you need to do. All of these guys have tried, failed, and reaped the embarrassment of prodding my stomach while I stare them down. Your turn."
"My turn," he repeated in a low, heat, murmur that made your neck prickle. "They’ve all tried, have they?"
His eyes flicked toward the others - Bucky, Sam, Steve, Thor - still watching with rapt attention.
"I'm guessing they wrestled you, pinned you," Loki mused, "and I imagine they grabbed at your waist, or jammed their fingers clumsily under your arms, yes?"
Your stomach clenched at the cool, casual confidence in his voice.
His head dipped lower, lips brushing just past your ear.
"But no one's ever been gentle with you, have they?"
The implication landed hot in your stomach. With that tone, he definitely wasn't just talking about tickling.
"I don’t need gentle," you gritted out, feeling the heat creep up your neck.
Loki hummed again. And then -
A single touch.
Soft. Featherlight. Unfamiliar.
A slow, wandering drag of fingertips under the hem of your shirt, gliding over your side with aching delicacy.
An involuntary shudder rippled through you, sparkling sensation travelling up your neck, down your hip.
Your breath hitched.
Loki’s low chuckle vibrated against your back.
“Oh, my. Was that a reaction?"
You tested your wrist again, his grip didn’t budge. Iron.
“I-” You wet your lips, breathing out a nervous chuckle. Steady... “If this is tickling, why do people react to it so violently? Sam practically-”
The words died in your throat as his fingers slipped higher.
A slow, agonisingly light scratching at your ribcage.
Your body shifted before you even realised. Some strange, new sensation bloomed alive beneath your skin - an almost electric tingle, sharp and shivery, not... uncomfortable but not something you could control.
You winced, feeling your own muscles betray you, your arm instinctively trying to pull down. Your brow furrowed.
Silence from the others.
Your pulse pounded as you turned your head and met their confused stares and raised brows.
Loki’s voice dipped lower. “Tell me,” he whispered, dark and taunting, “what do you feel?”
You swallowed. Your breath was unsteady. “I don’t know, I-”
You barely got the words out before his fingers slipped higher, that damnably light touch moving quicker, scraping against your skin and nerves-
A sensation erupted.
Your body jerked.
A strangled noise caught in your throat - somewhere between a gasp and a sound you’d never made before - bubbling up.
No.
No fucking way.
Your fingers dug into the mat. Heat roared through your veins, panic flickering, because something strange was happening. Your body was reacting. Your breath hitching, catching, some kind of force simmering deep in your lungs-
“What the hell are you doing to me?” you demanded, voice breathless, confused, desperate.
Loki only laughed, dark and rich, and said, “Proving a point.”
And then he picked up the speed.
A choked, gasping giggle burst out of you before you could stop it.
Your eyes widened.
The others on the sidelines looked gobsmacked.
The sensation grew, intensified, as Loki’s fingers didn’t stop.
You twisted violently, struggling under him, but his weight was unforgiving, his grip relentless.
Your lips parted, a stream of breathless giggles slipping free.
Oh, fuck.
Your body shuddered as his fingers skimmed higher, up to the skin stretched over the centre of your ribcage-
Your head hit the mat as laughter was yanked out of you. Your legs kicked, trying to gain traction, but Loki only chuckled at your useless attempts.
“Wait- fucking- you-"
“Well,” Loki purred, so fucking pleased with himself, “Not ticklish, was it?”
The laughter ripped through your throat, unrelenting, spilling out in gasping waves as Loki’s damnable fingers continued their excruciatingly light torment. The others on the sidelines cheered in pure delight as you laughed and laughed and twisted and squirmed.
But there was no escape.
No amount of tensing, no desperate attempts to throw him off, could do anything against his sheer strength and control. His weight pressed you into the mat, keeping you exactly where he wanted, his hand moving with deadly precision - every stroke of his fingertips dragging something shivery and unbearable from your skin.
Bucky's surprised scoff cut across your struggling. "Well I'll be."
"All this time, huh?" Steve huffed a laugh through his nose.
"Oh, you are definitely getting it from me," Sam's chortling threat made you turn your head away, back to where only Loki could see your profile.
Gods, Loki.
This wasn’t the clumsy, forceful jabbing of a sparring partner trying to elicit a reaction.
This... this was deliberate. Skilled. Loki had found something new in you, and he was taking his time exploring it.
And the worst part?
The heat.
The deep, simmering pull in your stomach had nothing to do with his magic and everything to do with the way his body pinned yours, the warmth of his breath, the slow, dangerous way he was learning you.
You were done for.
“Now,” Loki called to the others, voice smooth and pleased and maddeningly composed over your breathless gasps, “what exactly should I be dishing out punishment for? As long as you all have tales of her misdeeds…”
His fingers fluttered along your ribs, light and delicate, dragging over the hyper-sensitive skin. Your body seized with a squeal, then a sharp, gasping laugh.
“…I’ll keep going.”
The traitorous bastards on the sidelines did not hesitate.
“How much time you got?” Sam called, laughing.
"She replaced the protein powder with flour," Bucky offered. "Had us all drinking sludge in our shakes for days until we realised."
Loki hummed in amusement. "Clever." His fingers never stopped - the feathery, unbearable strokes at your lower ribs making your body tremble under him.
"Last week she convinced Thor that the Alexa was not only a real person, but 'Midgard's Only Goddess.'" Sam snorted. "Had Thor trying to win her favour for hours."
Loki chuckled, shaking his head as though deeply ashamed of you. His fingers slid higher up your ribs, the change in focus so sudden it made your breath hitch violently - your body arching before you could stop it.
"Oh, that’s good," Sam laughed. "Keep her goin', we got more."
"She told the new recruits that I get my hair done at a salon called ‘Thunder Struck,’" Thor added, betrayal in his voice. "The rumours-"
"-are completely true," you gasped, still somehow defiant through the breathless laughter spilling out of you.
Loki sighed in faux fatigue. "A habitual liar, too. Unfortunate." His fingers shifted again, this time creeping into the soft space under your arm-
Your laughter folded into silence.
A sharp, breathless inhale was all you could manage, body seizing as your nerves exploded with sensation. Your free hand slammed into the mat, trying to brace yourself.
Loki noticed.
“Oh,” he purred, sounding far too satisfied. His fingers didn’t move, just rested there, as if savouring the way you tensed beneath him. “I see.”
Your eyes widened. Somehow, you knew what was coming.
“I believe,” he murmured darkly, “I’ve found the perfect place for my discipline.”
His fingers twitched.
A sharp, shuddering noise burst out of you.
Then he started moving.
Slow. Dragging.
Your body jolted before you could stop it, a sharp, helpless squirm beneath him. Your breath hitched violently in your throat, trying to hold in the laughter- you couldn’t let him win-
His fingers curled against your skin in a perfectly devastating way, grazing soft circles in the deepest, most vulnerable part of that untouched nerve space, and the laughter broke out of you in an uncontrollable rush.
Loki sighed, as if he were so terribly disappointed.
“What was it you called me last week?” he mused, tracing, scratching, slow, taunting circles over every tormenting inch. “Ah, yes - ‘horny Shakespeare?’”
You shrieked. Your trapped hand trembling into a fist, tears of mirth threatening hot behind your eyes.
The others roared with laughter.
“Or was it-” He shifted, pressing in closer, lips brushing against your burning ear, voice dripping with amusement, “-‘overgrown magician with daddy issues’?”
You shrieked again, laughter breaking apart into gasping, desperate protests.
“Oh, I rather like this one-” His fingers swirled, still unbearably light, sweeping quickly over the taut skin. “You said I ‘probably cry after sex.’”
“I TAKE IT BACK-”
Loki laughed, dark and dangerous, sitting back up as his fingers scraped gently, just enough to send fire through your nerves, to make your laughter break, to send your legs kicking uselessly against the mat.
"Ah, and my favourite," Loki continued, relentless, "-you looked me dead in the eyes, in front of the entire team, and asked me if my horns were, in fact, just overcompensation for something far more-"
He was cut off when his fingers stroked, just so, against the place just below your arm where your ribcage ended, and laughter tore through you, something wrecked in your voice, your body shaking against his.
"Oh, you didn't like that, did you?" he soothed in mock sympathy before his voice gave way to a dark, sensuous chuckle.
"Loki- PLEASE!"
You had never begged before.
But you'd never been ticklish before.
And Loki - Loki fucking knew.
His chuckle returned as his hand slowed to a stop, fingers still perched threateningly as your ragged breath expelled beneath him.
"Did you hear that, gentlemen?" Your chest heaved, body shaking from the sheer force of it all, something deeply unsettled in your bones as his palm smoothed down your side, lingering before his fingers tightened at your hip, his grip possessive. "I do believe our dear girl has finally learned some manners."
Your entire body burned.
Then, Loki pushed off, moving effortlessly to his feet as if the last five minutes hadn’t utterly destroyed you.
True to his word, he hadn't broken a sweat.
You barely managed to push yourself onto your knees, your body unsteady, your breathing still laboured.
"Wait, hold up," Sam interrupted, holding a hand towards you. "Loki, you gotta show us how to do that."
Loki stiffened. It was barely noticeable. A flicker. A shift in the air.
And then - smooth as ever, with an icy calm that sent a clear warning, "I used magic," he said, holding up a hand with fingertips glowing green. "You are not capable, and you should not try."
You looked up, saw the chilled death in his stare that bored into Sam.
Liar.
That's why he chose to test the side no one else can see; he didn't want anyone else knowing how to undo you.
And everyone knew it. The implication was clear:
Back off.
Sam held up his hands immediately. "Alright, damn. Not trying to start an intergalactic incident."
The tension in the room eased as you caught your breath, but the tension inside you only burned hotter.
Loki turned and met your gaze with something solemn in his expression, something dark and wanting... protective.
Something only for you.
And fuck, you were both done for.

Bath ritual | Solomon x Reader
Commissioned by @hakurei-k
Tumblr media
A/N: last one of my commission batch. As always, big big thank you for the kind support and for being so patient with this awful writer. I hope you enjoy this one! 💕
Summary: You think you can hide anything from Solomon? Think again!
Words: 1.5k
Tumblr media
Bath time had quickly become your favorite part of the day—or at least, one of them. The routine had settled so seamlessly into your evenings that it almost felt natural. After the chaos of classes and a long day at the House of Lamentation, there was a quiet, soothing ritual that always left you in a state of peaceful contentment.
You would always end up here—between Solomon’s legs, your back resting against his chest, surrounded by warm water. The gentle scent of lavender and chamomile filled the air, mingling with the steam to form a calming atmosphere that calmed every tense muscle in your body.
You think you can hide anything from Solomon? Think again.
Solomon’s arms would always find their way around your waist, pulling you impossibly close. It was as though he wanted to meld you with him completely, as if there was no distinction between where his body ended and yours began. His chin would rest against your shoulder, nuzzling gently, rubbing his head against yours like a kitten. The action never failed to make you smile, and you often found yourself laughing softly, running your fingers through his damp hair.
It was always the best part of your day—the most peaceful and intimate.
One evening, as you let the water lull you into a dazed state, you felt Solomon’s arms tighten around you.
“You know?” His voice broke the comfortable silence, startling you slightly. “I’m sorry,” he said, his tone amused. “Simeon told me today that you’ve been hiding something from me.”
You frowned, fluttering your eyes open. “Hiding something from you?” You felt a soft nod from behind you.
Solomon’s lips curled into a slow, teasing grin. “He told me that you're ticklish. Ridiculously so.”
You froze, your face flushing as your body stiffened.
His smirk grew, knowing he’d caught you off guard. “And I had no idea. All this time, and you’ve never once let me know.”
You tried to feign nonchalance, but the nervousness in your voice was impossible to hide. “Simeon must have been mistaken,” you said quickly, hoping to downplay it. “I’m not—"
Before you could finish, Solomon's fingers slid effortlessly across your stomach. It was slow at first, just a gentle graze of his fingertips over your skin, but it was enough to make you squirm. You flinched, already betraying yourself.
“Ah, I see,” he purred. “You are ticklish.”
You tried to pull away, but Solomon's grip on you tightened, pulling you back against him as his fingers began to explore your sides more eagerly. Every time you tried to escape, his hands followed, pressing lightly into your waist, coaxing laughter out of you.
“Nohoho! Wahahait!” you gasped between giggles as you twisted in his arms, desperately trying to pull away. “Sohohol! Lihihisten!”
“Oh? Stop?” Solomon’s voice was low and teasing, just the way he knew drove you crazy. “But I’m just getting started. Let's find the spot that makes you laugh the most, yes?”
Your giggles turned into helpless laughter, your body wriggling beneath his touch as he worked his fingers into your ribs, playing with each bone meticulously. Not limiting his touch to simply poking, but he also clawed and dug and vibrated his fingers in as his life depended on it.
You were kicking out, flailing your arms like a mad man as water spilled from every edge of the tub.
Solomon chuckled in your ear. “Simeon is not gonna be happy with the mess we're causing— from one to ten how ticklish would you say your ribs are?” He teased, humming when he found a set of ribs that nearly sent you to hysterics. “I'd say an eight.”
He then skittered his tickles to your belly, fluttering them at the sensitive sides and the middle of your stomach, circling just in the skin between your hip bones.
Talking about hip bones, they didn't go unnoticed by him. He latched to them and pinched and squeezed the bones with terrifying precision, nearly making you see stars as you positively screamed with laughter. It was simply unbearable.
“Stomach, eight. Hips, nine. But where is the weakest spot, my dear?” He asked, giggling to himself as he saw you squirming like a fish out of water as he kept tickling your hips to oblivion.
“AHAHAH! Sohohoholomohohon, plehehehase!” You shrieked in ticklish desperation, kicking your feet against the tub.
Your hands useless clawed at his in an attempt to stop him, but it was as if they were glued to your ticklish spots.
“Oh, c'mon, my love,” he purred, nibbling on your ear. “It's not that terrible, is it?”
He slowed down, but you barely had time to catch your breath before he pulled your arms over your head, pinning them with one of his.
You took a deep breath, finally opening your teary eyes only to be startled by the scene in front of you.
“W-Why are there floating sponges?” You asked, starting to squirm, trying to break free from his hold. “A-And why are they circling like sh-sharks?! S-Soholomon, plehehease don't!”
Solomon chuckled mischievously. “Oh, that? Just a bit of enchanting cleaning. Very efficient.”
Your eyes widened and before you could say anything, he snapped his fingers.
The shriek that left your mouth was inhumane and it echoed around the whole bathroom as the soapy sponges launched towards you.
They settled under each arm, scrubbing your armpits viciously, but not harshly, so ticklishly gentle it was driving you absolutely insane. Solomon wouldn't let you move your arms at all, keeping you well exposed for those sponges cleaning your armpits profusely.
“Yohou're weheheaponihihizing bahahath tohohools!” You yelled through hysterical laughter.
“Magical efficiency,” he said sweetly. “Now, hold still.”
You did not hold still.
The scrubbing was so gentle it was unbearable. Sending you spiraling into a ticklish torment that you couldn't escape and didn't exactly want to escape either. You shrieked, laughter bursting out like fireworks, your legs kicking, splashing wildly as you arched your back and desperately tried to bring your arms down.
But Solomon held you fast, arms like steel, his own fingers joining in, squeezing and clawing at your ribcage and hip in perfect rhythm, absolutely destroying you. Your laughter turned high and broken, almost sounding like soft sobs as tears of mirth streamed down your flushed cheeks while the sponges zeroed in the middle of your armpits like they'd been trained to tickle.
“Too much?” he murmured behind your ear, even as he kept going.
You couldn’t even answer. You were laughing silently now, air gone, body trembling.
“Hmm,” he hummed, “I’ll take that as ‘don’t stop’”
He whispered another spell and six bath brushes materialized, quickly diving into the water, easily finding your feet. They settled under your toes, tickling the sensitive and tender skin under and in between them as one pair on each foot brushed and scrubbed the tender sides of your feet.
Scrub. Scrub. Scrub. Brush. Brush. Brush. It didn't end.
Your face was red from laughing so much, your stomach was already aching and a thin layer of sweat covered your forehead as not only your foamy tormentors tickled your sweet spots, but also a smug sorcerer, delighted in your helpless hysterical cackling.
“S-SOAHAHA! I- AHAHAHA!” You tried to beg, but the laughter kept coming and going, one moment loud and crazed, the next cackly but silent.
Solomon hummed with a chuckle. “I wonder how Simeon found out you were ticklish while I didn't know,” he said nonchalantly as if his fingers weren't nearly dissolving your right hip away. “Should I feel jealous?”
You shook your head. Of course he shouldn't feel jealous, but mostly, you just were in a desperate state, your laughter didn't sound like yours anymore, too hysterical in your ticklish insanity.
“Ah,” Solomon sighed, making you shriek when he moved his fingers to tickle your tummy next. “I think I should stop soon, your face is too red.”
Chuckling to himself, he finally relented, only because you were fully melted and hiccuping in his arms. He released your arms and kissed the top of your head, making the brushes and sponges vanish with a flick of his wrist.
“That was so much fun, wasn't it?” He said, sounding way too proud, the smirk still present in his lips.
Meanwhile, you were trying to catch your breath, your body twitching as you whimpered. “Y-You're a m-mehenace.”
“And you’re adorable when you’re like this,” Solomon murmured, brushing your wet hair back from your face with a gentle hand and pressing a loving kiss to your neck. “How long were you planning to keep that little secret from me, hmm? I don't think it was fair to hide it.”
You could only respond with a breathless chuckle, your face flushed with both laughter and embarrassment.
“Why do you think I didn't tell you before?”
“Every night now,” Solomon continued, almost like he didn't hear you as he pulled you closer, “I think I’ll remind you how ticklish you are. A little extra fun to look forward to after a long day.”
You groaned in defeat. “You’re impossible.”
“Maybe,” he whispered, pressing a kiss to your temple. “But you love me.”

Hawks x Reader - Just Give In
Tumblr media
A/N: @sparklycupcake56 requested this
Summary: Hawks was feeling a little left out from your lack of attention. He intends on fixing that
Ler: Hawks
Lee: Reader
Words: 527
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hawks had taken a day from hero work and decided to spend the day with you.
You were reading a book with your back against his chest. As you were reading, you felt his hands softly rubbing up and down your thighs and rested his chin on your shoulder, watching you how deeply you were in your book.
He started nuzzling his face against the side of your neck. “You planning on giving me more than your book sometime soon?” he asked.
You smiled and flipped a page. “Yes, I am.”
Hawks hummed, his lips brushed against your neck. “When?” he asked as his one of hands moved up under your shirt gently caressing your stomach.
You chuckled a bit. “When I feel like it.”
He smirked, his fingers traced all over your stomach and his lips moved to your ear. “And if I don’t want to wait?” he whispered.
You chuckled again and moved your head to block his mouth. “That sounds like a you problem.”
He tried to pout, but ultimately ended up chuckling instead. “That’s so cruel of you.” he teased. He moved to lightly attack the side of your neck with kisses. He wiggled his fingers on the top of your thigh and dug his fingers into your stomach. You dropped your book to the side from the tickling.
You started to wiggle against his chest and giggled loudly as you tried to block his hands. “Ahahahahahahahahaha!”
Hawks continued his assault on your vulnerable spots. His fingers gently traced up and down your thighs and his lips attacked your neck. “You could just give in you know,” he said in between kissing your neck.
You grabbed his wrists and tried to push them away. You moved your shoulders up to protect your neck. “Nohohohohoho!”
He chuckled as you continued struggling. “All you have to do is surrender,” he mumbled between kisses. His fingers dug into your inner thighs as he tried to break your defense against his lips attacking your neck.
“Ehehehehehehe stohohohohop!”
He hummed against your neck. “Sorry sweetie, can’t help it. You’re just too adorable I could just eat you up. Tickletickletickletickle!” he said as his hands moved under your shirt. He pushed them up to tickle your sides in an attempt to weaken your defenses.
“Ahahahahahahahahaha!” you wiggled side to side and tried to get away.
You continued squirming in his arms, but he held on tight. His hands moved from your sides to your belly and he dug his fingers in. “What's the magic words, little birdie?” he asked.
“Okay! Okahahahahay! Plehehease stohohohop! Ahahahahahahahahahaha!”
Hawks pulled his lips from your neck and chuckled. “Good lovebird,” he said, his fingers still tapping your stomach and thighs even after he had stopped tickling you. He pulled his hands away and wrapped them back around you. “I’ll spare you tonight, but just know I always win in the end.” he kissed the back of your neck.
You smiled and chuckled softly. “That’s because you cheated.”
He smirked. “There’s no cheating when it comes to tickling. I’ll use any means necessary,” he said with a devilish grin as he kissed your neck again.
Hello!!!
Do you think you could do Elijah Mikaelson x TeenNiece!Reader where she’s so caught up in the responsibility of what’s going on, supernatural stuff or whatever and he wants his niece to relax and be a kid again and he finds out she’s still ticklish like when she was a kid?
A/n: I hope you like it!! The only small change I made was that he already knew she was ticklish so he's an experienced tickler 😏
Your Hope's older sister, which was great most of the time. But times like this were really stressful, the constant worry about keeping her and your family safe from the witches had you up deep in the night to find spells in your grandmother's grimoire.
Yeah that's right, you were half vampire half witch which came with enough difficulty and responsibility as it is.
So long story short, you were completely burned out.
But your family's enemies didn't sit still so neither would you.
It was the third time this week that light casted under your bedroom door deep in the night as the sun began to come up, your head bowed over the grimoire as you muttered to yourself what spells were useful.
"Y/N darling, why are you still up?" Elijah's voice came from the door since it was open.
"Trying to find the right spells"
"Love you need to take better care of yourself" Elijah said with a sigh as he walked in still in his suit.
He grabbed the grimoire and put it on your night stand, sitting on the edge of your bed looking at you.
"But you're still up too!" You exclaimed as you looked at him with bags under your eyes.
"Yes for one time, because Niklaus and I had to deal with some rogue witches" he said with a pointed look as you tried to grab the grimoire again.
"But I need to find something to help" you grumble as you fell backwards onto your bed.
"Don't think that i forgot your weakness Y/N" he said with a playful stern expression "Don't make me tickle you to surrender"
That made you hold for a second, you knew your uncle was very well aware of what your weak spots were having found them himself when you weren't listening. But then again...
"Bring it on old man" you said with a grin
You could use a break.
Elijah of course saw that too and sped over to your side as you tried to get up, pushing you down and sitting on your thighs.
"Old man? You need to learn to respect your elders young lady" he scolded as he pulled your arms over your head and immediately went for your tummy.
"Respect is earned, not givinHEHEHEH" you squealed mid sentence as he rapidly squeezed your side.
"When then I guess I'll have to earn it" he sighed as if he was sad but his smile gave him away.
Elijah let go of your wrists and attacked your tummy with pokes and squeezes, randomly switching to ghost tickling your ribs over your shirt which made it so much worse.
"ELIJAHAHHAHAHHAHA" you screamed through your laughter as you fought against his hands "GHAHAHHAHA".
"Yes that's my name" he said nonchalant as he leaned forward and blew a raspberry onto your tummy, letting his other hand slip under back and tickle your back ribs.
"MERCYHHEHEHEHHEH!!"
"I don't know... Your laugh is pretty adorable and you seem to enjoy it, since you haven't asked me to stop yet" he mused with a smirk.
This continued for a couple of minutes with your (fake) pleases for mercy before footsteps came up the stairs and Klaus appeared in the doorway.
"I think my daughter does need to breath eventually Elijah" your father chuckled as he saw your appearance, hair completely ruffled from all the squirming, red cheeks and a giant smile.
"I do believe your right" Elijah said with a laugh as he got off of you. Letting you breath before pulling the blankets over you and giving you a kiss on the forehead, your father giving you a kiss on the forehead as well.
"Now go to sleep or so help me god young lady, me AND Elijah will come back here and this time you won't have the same mercy" Klaus warned with a smirk.
"Aye aye Sir" you grinned before turning onto your side.
"Good, goodnight sweetheart" he said before he and Elijah stepped out of the room and closed the door.
And maybe, just maybe you'll dare it again...
Loki is a mess cuz he can't handle having a crush.
Tumblr media
Oh, the comfort of a life on Earth. Not something any Asgardian would have expected when they arrived after all they had been through. Much less… this Asgardian.
Loki expected anything but bliss when he came to live among the Avengers. When he woke up living in the house of his enemies, he was rightfully on edge. Although Thor quickly wrapped his arms around him and filled him in. He had been saved after 5 years of becoming dust during the snap of the 5 infinity stones, which ironically spared his life.
But after his physical recovery and adaptation period with living in the compound… And there was a little someone who made the whole process much easier. A special little someone.
You were… Norns, where could he start? You were… a lot. In the best and worst sense of the word.
On one hand, you were messy, energetic, loud… just a smaller and slightly less annoying version of his brother. In fact, you two were great friends, much to Loki’s dismay. Loud nights of karaoke and dancing in the leisure room, begging for Tony to organize parties that would give Loki a headache. You constantly interrupted Loki’s reading to come chat or beg him to play together to some nonsense game or watch a movie. The amount of times you’d invade his personal space with hugs, pokes, grabbing his arm to take him somewhere… it was all unnerving.
On the other hand, and even worse than all he mentioned, Loki couldn’t get you out of his head. Your loudness, your playfulness, that smile of yours, your goofy laugh so out of place when you got nervous, the way he wanted to run his hands along your body… ah! It was too much!
And it wasn’t that Loki hadn’t been interested on others before. He had had more lovers than the average human lifespan. So why were you so difficult to handle? What was so special about you that he’d be turning in his bed late at night thinking about you? He couldn’t quite put it into words.
“Loki? Brother?” a voice snapped him out of his thoughts, along with a gentle knock on the door. “It’s late, are you not having breakfast with us?”
Loki stood up and opened the door to join his brother in the hall.
“I apologize brother, I must have lost track of time.” Loki shrugged it off as he ran his hands through his hair to fix it.
“No kidding,” Thor chuckled. “Look at you, when was the last time you slept?”
“Oh, like you would be one to judge me” Loki scoffed. “When did you all go to bed last night?”
“Not as early as you, old witch” Thor laughed. “It’s a shame you didn’t stay longer, our little friend was really upset you didn’t dance together.”
Loki had to fight an ear-to-ear grin. You had been looking for him? To dance… together? The way you all dance in Midgard these days? Oh gods, the one night his patience had run thin and made him excuse himself to go to bed.
It was still engrained in his brain.
You had jumped onto a coffee table, shaking your hips to the beat of the music, your body moving in perfect sync to the melody. And to be perfectly fair, it wasn’t anything outrageous to Earth’s standards, you were mostly goofing around and more often than not you’d double over laughing, flustered at your own antics. Unfortunately for his heart, Loki wasn’t from Earth, and he was not at all accustomed to those sights that kept him awake all night.
“I apologize for my unfortunate coordination with the mortal’s plans” Loki responded simply, despite mentally cursing himself.
Thor chuckled.
“I’m sure it will all be forgiven by the end of the week” he assured Loki. “You may get another chance to dance together.”
“What? Again? Don’t mortals tire out faster than us?” Loki asked. “How is it that there’s always some new event approaching?”
“It sure is lively around here, isn’t it?” Thor laughed. “Stark said it was a last-minute invitation, but Rogers mentioned it’d be important for us to assist, improving the opinion of the locals. Which you could still benefit from…”
“I suppose” Loki muttered. “Still… I hope it’s the last one in a while, it can get frustrating having to put up a perfection facade…”
“You are being dramatic brother.” Thor laughed.
“Am I?” Loki asked sarcastically. “Does it really not remind you the the banquets at the palace, always having to make political relationships by…”
“Oh brother, you are being dramatic. You really shouldn’t overthink all you do, if you think like that of course you won’t enjoy these silly Midgardian parties, for me, it reminds me of that tavern we used to go when we were younger. A chance to dance and perhaps flirt around every night with some nice ale and good friends.”
“Flirt around?” Loki chuckled at the Midgardian expression. “Don’t let Lady Jane hear you, brother. I thought you imprudent, but never to such an extent.”
“Oh, no, no.” Thor shook his head. “Those days are behind me, I am quite content in my relationship. I meant for you, brother.”
“Why would I want to flirt around?” Loki raised an eyebrow.
“Well, it is true you already have your interest captured by a local…”
“I have no clue what you’re blabbering on about, brother” Loki assured him. “And for your information, I am perfectly content the way my life is right now.”
Thor burst out laughing.
“That is splendid news brother” he chuckled, wiping a tear of mirth. “But I’ve been by your side since you were a small baby, I know when you’re interesting in someone.”
“You’ve never seen me interested in anyone” Loki retorted.
“Sure I have.” Thor chuckle. “Beyond the romances that lasted a single night, let’s see… You saw Angrboda for a while but it ended in nothing, you had a crush on Sygin for while but she was with Theoric which you tried impersonating but guilt ate you up, I recall you and Sif saw each other secretly when…”
“Alright, I got it!” Loki cut him off, not exactly eager to hear all his past romantic miseries all over again. “You are aware of my past, understood.”
Loki was a bit surprised, though. He always thought he was being discrete. Unlike Thor, who would shamelessly (and rather loudly) flirt in the tavern or at royal parties with whoever he wanted; Loki had an infinitely more subtle approach. Loki would strike conversations with his interest, in a much more subtle seduction. Loki was more the type to swoon with his wit and the perfect praise, taking advantage of being the less favored prince in terms of affection to escape into the night to seal the deal. He was so sure no one noticed his absence, much less Thor, who Loki thought too busy being the center of attention to care if Loki left the party early. Especially Sif, which was a whole new ordeal he didn’t even want to talk about.
He was a bit moved, really… in a very weird way, but it was moving.
“See? I know who you have a crush on” Thor chuckled. “You should really go for it.”
“Can you stop talking like a Midgardian?” Loki groaned. “It’s unnerving.”
“Sorry brother, it’s entertaining to see how much it frustrates you.” Thor grinned like a cheeky brat. “But I mean it, you won’t know if your feelings are reciprocated if you don’t ask.”
“Alright, alright.” Loki scoffed out a laugh. “Can’t believe I’m taking advice from you imbecile.”
“I would be offended, but I know the satisfaction of seeing you frustrated over being the idiotic one is more than enough.” Thor smiled and turned around.
“Weren’t you gonna have breakfast?” Loki asked.
“I already did” Thor smiled. “But I know of someone who will be happy to have some company during breakfast.”
Loki felt his heartbeat accelerating as he turned around the corner and saw you, finishing a sandwich and grabbing a mug of coffee. Your hair was messy, the pajamas you were wearing were a couple of sizes bigger than your frame and your eyes were half closed.
It was adorable.
“Good morning” Loki bowed his head politely.
“Mo—” you were cut off by a huge yawn. “Morning, Loki. Slept well? You left the party earlier last night.”
“I’m terribly sorry” Loki apologized timidly. “I didn’t feel well.”
“It’s okay…” you smiled at him and took a sip of your coffee, and Loki felt the energy from the coffee. “It wasn’t as fun once you left.”
Loki’s breath hitched and smiled nervously at you. He looked around, unsure if he was allowed to look at you more than a few glances every so often. But he caught the sight of you making a sandwich.
“I’m gonna eat breakfast on the loungeroom, wanna join me?” you offered with two more slices at bread for him.
“A-Ah, sure…” Loki nodded.
You made him a sandwich and served him a mug of coffee. Loki smiled at you and bowed his head gently at you in a thank you.
Both of you walked to eat by the TV. You handed him the remote control for him to choose. He gulped and looked at the screen, he swore his hand was shaking like a Chihuahua. He had no idea how to use modern technology… or well… not day to day technology.
Spaceships? Sure. Hacking the security of a overly complex computers? Piece of cake. But using his own cellphone or browsing the internet and a smart TV? Oh, honey…
And then he heard you giggle.
“What?” Loki asked, unable to fight a nervous smile.
“Oh nothing” you giggled. “Nothing…”
“No, what? Tell me…” he chuckled and scooted closer to you.
“N-No, nothing…!” you giggled nervously.
Now, smitten or not, mockery was something he would never tolerate unpunished… not fully anyway.
“Oh, you’ll regret that” he growled and before you could ask, straddled you, wiggling his fingers at you.
“E-Eh?” the way you smiled was tense, but also skeptic, like you didn’t believe what was clearly about to happen.
Before you asked, his fingers shot to your sides, poking and prodding the sensitive skin, immediately making you squeal.
“Lohohohoki! Whahahat are you doing?!” you protested.
“You asked for it, you menace.” Loki chuckled, drilling his index fingers to your sides, still careful enough to avoid hurting you.
“Lohohohohoki! I’m sorry!” you whined, sounding more lost than actually apologetic.
Loki made his distaste for your actions clear by tickling you mercilessly. But it was clear you weren’t sure what you were apologizing for, and it still sounded honest.
Seriously, it should be considered foul play being endearing like that.
“I can’t go around letting cheeky mortals like you think they can disrespect the God of Mischief without consequence.” Loki spoke in a low, teasing tone.
He let it slide the fact that anyone else would’ve ended with a dagger on their gut or at least an insult so vile that would have made them storm out of the room. But it’s not like Loki was going to notify you over the little soft spot he had for you… although, to balance things out, it was easier for you to provoke him into this sort of silly “punishments”.
“Whahahahahat did Ihihi dohohohohoho?!” you complained, your hands latching to his wrists in a weak attempt to push him away.
“I saw you laughing at me, so by simply logic, I had to give you something to really laugh about.” He growled maliciously as his fingers continued their malicious dance along your skin.
Loki was skilled with his hands and fingers, double entendere aside. Being a sorcerer required precision of mind and hand movement, given a wrong angle could make a vanishing spell burn your eyebrows instead. As a proper prince, he was skilled with the quill and had a neat and elegant handwriting as well as an at least decent skill with the flute, the lute and the piano. Which Loki loved to clarify that by “proper prince”, he actually meant “not Thor” whose handwriting was a illegible and could only play percussions like a toddler… But he was a stronger fighter, Loki could give him that.
But it also meant he was a deadly tickler. Being perceptive and cunning like a good trickster didn’t really help your cause either.
He raised upwards, giving you a sort of break, reducing the intensity of the tickling. But his hand soon lowered ceremoniously back to make deadly contact with your skin again. This time gently wiggling behind your earshell.
“EEK! W-What are you doing?” your shoulders shut up, before your hands reached to cover your ears with your hands.
“Mmm, it was just a little test.” Loki hummed. “And I must say, I’m more than pleased with the result.”
Loki chuckled and his hands went to your sides, squeezing and kneading your ribs like dough.
“AIEE!” you squeaked and your arms went down to protect your sides. “Loki!”
Loki smiled menacingly and decided a new course of action.
He tickled your sides for a couple of seconds, before going back to tickle your ears so you’d raise your arms to protect them, just to go back to your sides after a bit.
“Hahahahahaha! L-Loki! P-Please! Hahahahahahaha! S-Stop it! Hehehehe! Hahahahaha!”
The pokes and tickly caresses went all over your skin, making you squeal and screech. But there was nothing you could do against someone stronger than you.
“Lohohohoki!” your hips wiggled from side to side in a helpless giggle fit.
But just when you thought it couldn’t get worse…
“EEEEEEEK!” you screeched when you felt Loki’s hands sneaking under your armpits, it was so loud and high pitched that Loki was startled.
“Oh, my my my…” he grinned mischievously. “What was that?”
“N-No… Loki! L-Loki…!” you pleased your hands before you, trying to protect yourself. “Loki! LOKI! LOHOHOHOHOHOHOKI!”
You didn’t have to be a detective to figure out that Loki, being the cheekiest of souls, would take advantage of this new tickle spot.
“NOHOHOHOHOHO! NO LOHOHOHOHOKI! PLEHEHEHEASE! HAHAHAHAHA! NAHAHAHA!” you squealed and squirmed like a fish out of water. “LOKI! LOHOHOHOKI! PLEAHAHAHAHASE!”
His fingers traced along your armpits, he was excited like a little kid finding the secret hiding place of the birthday presents. You were going crazy. He couldn’t stop himself, gently caressing and scratching the sensitive skin on your underarms to make you squeal until your face was bright red and your eyes were glistening with tears of mirth.
“PLEASE! AHAHAHAHA! OW! PLEASE! HAHAHAHA!” you guffawed and kicked your legs around as if that somehow would ease up the tickly sensations. But your sides were burning from laughing and it wasn’t pleasant. “OW! P-PLEASE! HEHEHEHE!”
“Oh, alright…” he smiled softly and retreated his hands from you.
Your chest was heaving from laughter and giggles were hoarse and tired. You wiped the tears off your face placed your hand on your chest to feel your own accelerated heartbeat.
“Hahahaha…!” you giggled and panted, trying to control yourself from the aftermath of tickly giggles. “Alright… I had that coming… I- I guess. Hehehe…”
“Oh gods, I adore you…” Loki blurted out, freezing at the weight the honesty of his words carried.
Simply because that was him. He was a deceiver, a conniver, a scammer, a trickster. But now? Truth had poured out of his mouth like a waterfall, cold and refreshing… He loved you. He had been lying to himself for so long that once he said it out loud, to you no less, it felt good, more than good.
“What?” you asked.
“I love you” he repeated.
But the look on your face made his stomach sink. You looked horrified.
“…why me?” you asked.
“What do you mean?” he asked, already feeling the crushing weight of rejection weighing him down.
“What do you think I mean?” you grumbled.
Of course you wouldn’t like him. You were the sunshine incarnate, you were kind and friendly, you were smart enough to crush down any silly preconception of human life being dull and silly like it had been thin and cheap glass, to the point of him feeling like the fool. You had brought him down to his knees. You had a power of a goddess.
No way you would reciprocate his feelings.
“What could you see in me…?” you smiled, but your eyes revealed distress. “I- Loki… look at me!”
Loki blinked at you, speechless. Which unknowingly giving you a window to keep talking.
“I’m everything that annoys you. I like going dancing, I like singing and being loud. I hate being around people but being alone stresses me out.” You huffed out. “Loki… I’m…”
“Perfect.” Loki finished for you, breathless.
“A nuisance.” You corrected him. “Loki, you’ll get tired of me by the end of the week.”
Loki felt angry, how could you speak so ill of yourself? You are a balm in chaotic world. And you hated every bit of yourself, every sweet and lovable inch of yourself. It was a self-hatred he knew very well. One type of felt hatred he lived with every day.
And he knew often there was only one way to help.
He pulled you against his chest and jabbed your sides.
“EEEEEK!” you screeched. “L-LOKI?! What are you doing?!”
“Mm, just helping your thoughts shut up…” Loki smiled cheekily as his fingers danced along your armpits once more.
“AIIIIEEEEE! LOKIHIHIHIHIHI!” you squealed.
“Yes, my darling?” he purred.
“S-STOP IT!” you cried. “HAHAHAHAHA! NOHOHO! WHY?!”
“I’m merely providing a pleasant distracting you from those nasty thoughts of yours” he said in a faux innocent tone.
“PLEHEHEHEHASANT?!” you whined between your loud laughter.
Loki nodded but agreed that maybe it wasn’t the nicest thing to do going for the spot that made you nearly burn out your lungs. So, being the angel he was, he moved down to tickle your belly giving you a break… sort of.
“Lohohohoki! Hehehehe! Hahahahaha! Oh my gohohohod!”
Loki chuckled at your laugher, that, in his defense, came down an octave after moving to a less deadly spot. But your rich giggles kept pouring out like a waterfall, fresh and healing to him.
His finger gently tickled around your waist line, which made you squeak and giggle in a high pitch.
“EEK! Heeheeheehee! EEP! Heeheeheehee!”
“Norns…” Loki complained quietly.
“Lohohohohoki!” you giggled when his fingers pinched around your navel. “P-Plehehehease, n-no more…! Hahahaha!”
“Oh, alright” he smiled lovingly at you.
As he saw you trying to catch your breath again, the loud drumming of his own heartbeat became overwhelming. Oh, how helpless he was… Yes, he had been the one tickling you silly. But, truthfully, he was the one at your mercy here.
“Hehehehe… ohh… hic! Hehehehe! Hic! Hehehehe!” you giggled. “T-That w-was hmph!”
Loki could take it anymore, he had pressed his lips against yours, a bit panicked at first… Did he read the room wrong? Did you not like him like thaaaaat…
Feeling you kiss back was… in a single word: mind-blowing. On one hand, it melted away all his fears, all the tension, all the mess he had been since his heart fell on his knees at your mercy… just undone… like the most powerful magic he could do. On the other hand, kissing you was like a dream, you were sweet, passionate, loving. Although he’d never admit it, he got a little flutter on his stomach thinking maybe… just maybe, you had liked him back all along.
“Ah… heh… um…”  you looked at him nervously. “D-Do you think maybe… would you like to come to the party with me? You know… t-together… officially…”
Loki smiled fondly and leaned in for another kiss.
“I would be honored, dear.”
“What’s wrong, soldier? Can’t stand your ground anymore?!” Karlach teased, her voice almost as loud as your laughter while you flailed and thrashed under her. If it weren’t for your screeching cackles, one could mistake the scene by some sort of murder attempt as Karlach’s tickles were anything but soft or gentle.
As if the weight of her massive body on top of you wasn’t enough to keep you from going anywhere, you also had to deal with the sheer strength of her grip, stopping your arms from lowering a single inch.
You felt your head spinning, your throat dry and your cheeks wet from the tears. You planted your heels into the ground, lifting your back from the ground just to have it slammed back down again.
The rest of the party was surely hearing your maddened giggles and you didn’t even need to look at their faces to know you were being judged or mocked. Still, none of those you dared to call allies dared to step in or help you escape from Karlach’s ticklish onslaught.
You thrashed your head left and right, pressing your eyes shut as your smile nearly tore your face apart. “K-KARLAHAHACH!!” You cried to deaf ears, feeling her fingers tickling down from your painfully outstretched armpit to your exposed sides. “I Y-YIEHEHELD!! AHAHA, LEHEHET GOHOH!!”
The tiefling snickered - or something like that, you weren't so sure since the only sound you could hear was your own laughter. “There’s no going back, soldier, you wanted a fight, right? So show me what you got!”
Unfortunately, the only thing you could show her was how awfully ticklish you were. Poor thing, if only you had rolled a 20 instead of a 2 when you decided to start a tickle fight with the party’s barbarian…
Between a Rock and a Hard Place
Tumblr media
A/N: I've had a stressful couple of weeks and wanted to write a quick story with ler!Astarion and lee!reader. This was inspired by one of the helping lines he has where he says "you look good helpless". @tickly-deer-boy here is a quick Astarion fic!
Summary- Tav is stuck, and Astarion comes to get them out of trouble. He had no idea that they were ticklish…and gods, is it entertaining.
Paring- Astarion x Tav (platonic).
Word Count- 1.8k.
Warnings- None. But please note this is a tickle fic!
Tav grunted in frustration as they tried to wriggle free from the narrow space between the crates. Their movements only caused them to get more wedged in the spot. They were reaching forward, straining to reach Lae’zel’s outstretched hand, only to just be out of her reach.
“K’chaki. I told you to go around.” Lae’zel grumbled in exasperation. She withdrew her hand. “We waste precious time while you struggle. At any moment, we could become ghaik.”
“I know that,” Tav groaned and tried to launch themselves forward. They barely moved an inch, and now their waist was fully stuck between the crates. “It’s almost like you’ve been saying the same thing since we crashed! If you’d shut up and give me your hand, I’d be out of here already.”
“You cannot reach my hand,” Lae’zel pointed out as if it was as obvious as day. “And I have no time to wait and make up for your shortcomings. Had I known you would slow me down, I would have left you to your fate on the nautolid.”
“And you would have no astral prism. You’d turn into a mindflayer before me,” Tav grunted and decided to change tactics, twisting their hips to try and dislodge themselves. It didn’t work. Lae’zel checked her pack, believing she’d been the one carrying it, only for Tav to give a mocking sneer. “Honestly, it’d be an improvement. You wouldn’t be talking so much if you had a mouth full of tentacles.”
Lae’zel scowled. She took a step forward, hand on the hilt of her sword. “You think it’s wise to provoke me in your position?”
Before you could challenge her, Astarion’s silky voice sounded from somewhere behind you. “Now now, darlings. Let’s not turn our blades on each other. We’ve so many enemies we could stab instead..”
Tav heard the sound of his shoes crunching over gravel as he approached them. The sound stopped when he froze, taking in the scene of the trapped leader in front of him. “Oh. Oh dear. Someone’s gotten themselves in a spot of trouble, hm?”
Tav didn’t have to see his face to know he was smirking. They bristled, and they would’ve turned to leer at them if they hadn’t been pinned at the waist. “Hilarious, Astarion. Truly. How about doing something useful and helping me?”
The vampire clicked his tongue. “My, so touchy. I’m almost tempted to leave you there. Who knows what a less friendly adventurer would do if they found you?”
“You wouldn’t,” Tav retorted. “You’d miss me too much. Who else would wake up day after day to tell you how handsome you are?”
“Cheeky,” Astarion smirked. “Still, I’m not convinced to help you. If only there was a word you could say that would make me reconsider. Something like, oh, I don’t know…please?”
“To hells with that,” Tav palmed the sides of the crates and pushed at them. Besides the occasional, minuscule move, they remained right where they were. Their face contorted with exertion, and they heard Astarion snickering behind them.
“That’s four words, and I'm not looking for any of them.” Astarion stepped closer and leaned against the crates. “But by all means, keep squirming. You look good helpless…”
The heat rose to their cheeks, or maybe that was from all of their struggling? Tav wasn’t sure. They gave up on pushing the crates and twisting their body to and fro. Then, exhaling through their nose, they grumbled, “Fine. Please help me, Astarion. There, happy?”
“Your groveling skills need work,” he snorted. “But it would be cruel for me to expect a grand performance in your state. So of course, my dear, I’ll help you.” Astarion moved behind them, hands outstretching to rest on their sides. His touch was surprisingly gentle, and he rotated them to determine the best angle to pull them from. The light touches sent shivers up their spine, though he didn’t seem to notice. If anything, Tav would’ve chalked it up to the cold. Astarion moved his hands higher, now resting just below their rib cage. His fingers slid along their skin, looking for gods know what, and they jolted.
“What are you doing?” Tav cried incredulously. Lucky for them, he couldn’t see the grin tugging at the corner of their lips.  Lae’zel had already stormed off, leaving the two of them alone.
“Helping you. Obviously.” Astarion rolled his eyes and readjusted his hold, returning to their sides. This time, he was squeezing them in an attempt to get a better grip. “And I’d have an easier time if you would hold still.”
Tav choked on a giggle. They did the opposite of what he said and fidgeted some more. Suddenly, the impossible feat of getting themselves out on their own didn’t sound all that impossible. “Forget it, Astarion. I’ll d-do it myself..”
“Nonsense. Stop squirming, and I’ll pull you out.”
“No, but-”
Astarion’s fingers ghosted over their stomach, and they squeaked. He froze, and Tav felt their heart do somersaults in their chest.
“What is the matter with you?” Astarion took his hands away from their belly, fingers resting just above their hips. The confusion was as clear as day in his voice. “You’re acting as if I’m hurting you.”
Tav remained quiet. They feared that they’d end up giggling if they spoke.
“Tav? Am I hurting you?”
“...No.” Tav hesitated, shaking their head. They wracked their mind for a plausible explanation. “It’s just, uh, your hands. They’re cold.”
“Cold enough to feel through your clothing?” Astarion raised a brow, tone flat. “Odd. You haven’t told me that before..”
Tav didn’t even believe the tale they’d spun. “W-Well, they’re just that c—ah!” Tav squealed when he lightly pinched their hip. “Don’t do that!”
They went to smack at his hand, but hit one of the crates instead. Although they couldn’t see it, Astarion’s eyes brightened with mischief.
“Oh, now I understand…” Astarion grinned a predatory grin, rolling his knuckles against their hip. Tav squirmed, biting down on their lip to trap the impending giggles. “You’re ticklish, aren’t you?”
“Noho!” The word alone sent butterflies in their stomach. They brought one of their hands up to their mouth, their other hand uselessly hitting the top of the crates. “Damn it Astarion, just pull me ouhuhut!”
“I’m trying, Tav, but you’re not making this easy for me.” Astarion shuffled closer to them, now using his thumbs to deliberately knead into their hips. Tav gasped and giggled into their hand, feet stomping into the dirt. “It’s impossible to get a good grip with you kicking around like this..”
“You’re nohoht trying!” Tav argued, bucking their hips as Astarion kept kneading into them. The ticklish sensations surged through them like electric shocks, and it was harder to suppress their frantic giggling. “Gah! S-Shihihit! When I get out of hehehehre, you’re dehehehad!”
“I’m already dead,” Astarion snorted. “But do tell me, what is so funny? Surely I am not tickling you?”
Tav growled in between their giggles. They giggled harder when he changed tactics and squeezed their hips again, again, and again. Both hands flew to their mouth to muffle their squeals.
“Darling,” Astarion purred, “I need an answer.”
“Gohoho to hehehell!” The dam broke, and Tav giggled freely. They twisted and bucked as much as their trapped position allowed, clawing at the crates. “Stohohohp it!”
“Stop what?” Astarion feigned confusion, nails skittering along their waistline. “I’m only trying to help, just as you asked! You’re stuck in here good, I’m afraid.”
“Nohoho! I’ll f-freehehee myself!” Tav sputtered as he dragged his nails up their belly. They shouted and shook their head back and forth, laughing loudly. “Let gOHOHOhahaha!”
“I can’t do that, dear. That would make me a terrible friend,” Astarion tutted. He stopped scritching at their belly, teasing their sides with featherlight strokes. “And, while I’m on the topic, do you know what else sours a friendship?”
Tav’s laughter died down to short, breathless giggles. Their cheeks were well beyond flushed, and they fidgeted in anticipation. “I—hah—don’t know... what?”
“Lying,” Astarion grinned and gently pinched just beneath their rib cage. Tav squealed and bucked. “For instance, pretending not to be delightfully ticklish when you very clearly are.”
Tav’s eyes widened, panic flashing across their face. “I’m—I'm nohot—”
“Ah-ah, there it is again.” Astarion double downed on his efforts, kneading one of his thumbs into the side of their belly. Tav shrieked and kicked their legs uselessly, falling back into another laughing fit. “You are an insolent little pup, aren’t you? Lying is one thing, but lying to a friend? Lying to me?”
As if they weren’t already stuck enough, Astarion wrapped his free arm around their waist, making it much harder to squirm or kick. He continued tickling their stomach, alternating between gently scratching along their skin with his nails and kneading with his thumb. He moved at a leisurely pace, as if he had all the time in the world. And, truth be told, he did. Tav’s laughter took on a more desperate note, and they threw their head back.
“NAHAHA! Alright! Okay! I’m sohohohorry!” Tav shouted and pounded their fist against the damned crates. They doubled over, or at least made an effort to, and squealed with laughter. “I’m sohohohohrry!”
“So you are,” he hummed. “And yet, I’m not fully convinced. You’ve already lied to me once. Who’s to say you aren’t doing it again?” He dropped to his knees, lazily raking his nails down the backs of their thighs. Tav shrieked and kicked around even more.
“I’m nOHOHOHohohot! I’m not!!” Tav grit their teeth and giggled madly. They tried to lift their legs out of his reach, but he chased after them with minimal effort. “PLehehehehease! I’m nohoht lying!”
Astarion laughed. “You learn fast. It’s still a no, though. I’m just gutted that you would lie to me.” He pretended to sound sad while he spidered his nails along the backs of their knees. Tav howled, curling in on themselves as much as possible. “After all of the time we spent together! After I offered to help you..”
Tav cackled when one of Astarion’s hands snuck back up to prod at their belly. He swirled his pointer finger in random patterns, scritching just shy of their hip bones, around their navel, and ending at their lowermost ribs. He did the same thing in reverse, eventually settling back on the ground to squeeze and tickle their knees and thighs. His fearless leader was a puddle of squeals and giggles, and that’s one crime he was happy to be guilty of.
“I CAHAHAHN’T!” Tav went back to pounding their fists against the crates, eyes shining with tears. “Astarion, plehehehehehease!”
After what felt like forever, Astarion stopped tickling them. He gripped their hips and, with one firm pull, dislodged them from their trap. They fell back into him, and he held them up, still by their hips. “There you are, you’re free!” he snickered. “You’re welcome.”
Tav exhaled, shutting their eyes. They were coming down from the ticklish sensations, chest rising and falling from each breath they took. They were still smiling a bit, so what they said next had very little bite. “Bastard.”
“Careful,” Astarion tapped his fingers against their hips, and Tav lurched forward. “We wouldn’t want this little secret to slip to any of our friends, hm?”
Free Hugs
Request: Apparently Kathryn does a back tickling thing when she hugs people, could you write something with that with the reader? 🤭
Note: Thank you for this request! I haven't seen a video of it, so I'm not sure how accurately I portrayed it. Hope you enjoy! :)
Word Count: 1052
----------------------------------------------------------
You were currently a TV show host, one who interviewed many celebrities to promote their upcoming movies and shows. Today you had Kathryn Hahn on as a guest and were preparing backstage beforehand.
You were a bit more nervous for this interview. You had interviewed plenty of A-list celebrities, but Kathryn still made you star-struck at times. There was a certain poise and confidence to her that you were in awe of. She knew just exactly what to say while maintaining her composure and always supported the right causes. She was just perfect.
You snapped out of your daydream when they notified you that Kathryn had arrived. Before interviewing them on TV, you would usually meet with them a few hours before filming to go over boundaries, questions, and which topics they were okay with sharing and which ones you should avoid.
You walked through the door and saw Kathryn arriving with her team, her hair up in a fancy updo, accompanied by a sleek pant suit that fit her perfectly. For being in her 50s, she didn’t look a day over 30.
“Hi Kathryn, how are you doing?” You asked, stepping forward to accept her hug.
“I’m awesome!” Kathryn cheered, hugging you tightly.
You suddenly felt her nails lightly tickling your back, causing you to quickly pull away from her embrace.
“What’s wrong dear?” Kathryn asked, genuinely concerned.
“N-nothing,” you stuttered, turning bright pink.
Kathryn was good at picking up on social cues, and this time she knew right away.
“Did that tickle?” She outright asked, smiling at your lack of eye contact.
“No!” You insisted.
“It’s okay if you’re ticklish, I just like doing that to people. It breaks the ice and also gives me a secret weapon,” Kathryn teased, wiggling her eyebrows at you.
You were too overwhelmed with embarrassment, so you quickly changed the subject and asked her to sit to talk about the interview.
Kathryn was there to promote her new show ‘Agatha All Along,’ which was streaming on Disney+. You asked her about how much she could reveal about the plot and for her to provide a little bit of background from WandaVision to help viewers understand when and where this show is taking place.
The two of you chatted more, as Kathryn also gave some insight on her personal life now that she was done filming for the show.
“Thank you so much for meeting up with me before the shoot! We’re gonna be on in 15 minutes, so if you need to use the restroom or anything go ahead!” You said, as you both got up.
“You’re not going to hug me again, are you?” You asked cautiously.
“What? You afraid I’m gonna tickle you again?” Kathyrn smirked.
“No…I just wanted to ask…” you trailed off, as Kathryn giggled at your embarrassment.
“Watch out, I just may embarrass you on live television,” Kathyrn playfully threatened.
Your cheeks burned again, imagining the embarrassment before it even happened. There was no way you could ever show your face again if that happened!
The two of you eventually came out onto the set, where there was a live audience, surrounded by lights and cameras everywhere.
You introduced Kathyrn to the crowd, and allowed her to answer some questions about the new show.
“So, what is like bonding with your coven? Were there any difficulties?” You asked her.
“Well, we all got along really well in my opinion, but with any new cast there’s always some ice to break here and there, but by the end of it you’re family,” Kathryn said.
You tensed slightly at the use of the phrase ‘ice to break,’ remembering that she had used that phrase earlier when she tickled you.
Kathryn knew you were gonna quickly change the subject before she could answer how she broke the ice, so she quickly continued before you could answer.
“There were a lot of little things I would do to break the ice, including giving free hugs,” Kathryn stated confidently. You knew you were trapped and would have to ask her more, or else it would be an abrupt change of subject and would make you look like a bad interviewer.
“I bet your cast members loved your hugs. Personally speaking, I received a hug from Kathryn before this interview and it was wonderful!” You said, as you had turned to the crowd to speak.
“They absolutely love them! Except for Aubrey, she hated them because I would give like a little gentle back tickle when I hug people and it would drive her nuts,” Kathryn said while laughing, as you froze, not expecting the forbidden t word to be dropped like that.
The audience laughed, and you joined in awkwardly, not knowing what to say next without stumbling over your words.
“Do you guys want a demonstration?” Kathryn asked the audience, as they all shouted in unison. Your eyes widened, as Kathryn got up.
“You want a free hug?” Kathryn asked you. You knew the ratings of your TV show would go up if you went along, but you knew the embarrassment would last forever. Maybe I can just hold my reaction in…you thought to yourself.
You walked into Kathryn’s hug, expecting the tickle to be around the lower part of your back, which she had done earlier. You braced yourself for it, only to be caught off guard by her nails tickling the upper part of your back.
You gasped and jumped away, squirming your shoulders away from the ticklish touch.
The crowd laughed, as Kathryn chuckled in glee.
“Well there’s one thing you and Aubrey have in common. Both ticklish on your backs,” Kathryn teased, giving your side a poke before going back to sit in her chair.
You tried to suppress a yelp and jump by quickly covering it up with a cough.
“Thanks for that demonstration,” you said sarcastically.
“My pleasure. It’s something Agatha would most definitely do, so I’m trying to give the crowd real authenticity,” Kathryn stated, making the crowd laugh.
You managed to get through the rest of the interview, but your head was still flying around the thought that Kathryn had tickled you in front of everyone. Rest assured, you would be staying off of social media for the next week to avoid the circulating videos.
Hangry
Word count: ~2,000
Pairing: Steve x reader and Bucky (platonic), no pronouns used
Warnings: Just a lot of fluff. Mild cursing.
It's been a year and a half since my last posted works! I'm VERY out of practice 😅 I'm trying to work on some smaller prompts on my list while I get myself back into writing and continue working on the Loki blip in the universe prompt. It's not my best, but I hope you enjoy in any case!
This was based on a Prompt for Steve x reader as well as a prompt where reader and Bucky bug Steve while he's making a public appearance.
Tumblr media
“Tell us, Captain, sir - how did the Avengers manage to track down the villain’s hideout this time?”
“Well, good sir - we have state-of-the-art technology that allows us to track electronic signals from thousands of miles away…”
“Ugh, he is such a ham!” you muttered to Bucky under your breath as you observed Steve from a distance. “We’re never going to make it to the store if he keeps stopping every time a reporter tries to chat him up!”
“Steve can’t resist bragging about us,” Bucky chided, nudging you with his elbow.
“Yeah, well… some of us are hungry!”
You huffed and folded your arms across your chest in annoyance, trying to catch the reporter’s eye with your scowling face, but she was far too enamored by the star-spangled captain to pay you any mind. How had a simple grocery run for ice cream turned into a twenty-minute interview with the press??
“I swear, I’m gonna go drag him away from that reporter by the ear if he doesn’t stop talking in the next 60 seconds,” you grumbled.
“Why do that when we can mess with him instead?”
You turned to look at Bucky, who had a mischievous gleam in his eyes.
“Go on…”
He smirked, shooting you a wink. “Watch and learn.”
You watched silently as Bucky meandered casually toward where Steve stood speaking with the reporter and her photographer. Steve was none the wiser to his friend approaching from behind.
“… but the serum isn’t the only thing that makes us heroes. It takes a whole load of grit and determina-HAY-tion-!”
Steve flinched as his best friend subtly reached up and pinched his side mid-sentence, effectively silencing him. The captain recovered quickly, though, chuckling nonchalantly as he flashed Bucky a look. He continued on with his sentence after that, refusing to acknowledge what just happened.
“Wait - Steve is ticklish??” you whispered incredulously as Bucky returned to your side.
“Very. Why does that surprise you?”
“I don’t know, I guess I just assumed the serum eliminated weaknesses like that.”
Bucky chuckled. “Nah - if anything it made it worse.”
“Oh-ho, I’ve got to try this for myself!”
You quietly paced up behind the blabbing soldier, pretending you were casually walking past to avoid drawing attention from passerby. As you stepped by him, you reached out and swiftly dug your fingertips into his ribs for less than a second. Steve choked on his words and whipped his head around instinctively. You ducked out of his field of vision and prodded his other side.
“Excuse me,” Steve requested politely, turning around as nonchalantly as possible to find you standing behind him with a guilty grin on your face. “Can I help you?”
“I just came to remind you that we have somewhere we have to be,” you stated sweetly.
“Yes, but it isn’t urgent,” he muttered.
“Oh, I think you’ll find it to be very urgent, actually,” you whispered, shooting him a cheeky wink. With a long, drawn-out sigh, Steve turned to the reporter.
“My apologies, ma’am. Duty calls.”
You saw Bucky clap a hand over his mouth and nose to cover the snort that burst from his nares. Trying hard not to openly roll your eyes in front of the reporter, you nodded in the direction of the grocery store and began marching purposefully toward your destination, with Steve following in your wake.
“You two are infuriating,” Steve grumbled once you were out of earshot from the reporter.
“Excuse me - I just want to go get my ice cream and head back home to eat it,” you countered. “You’re the one who decided to schmooze with the first person who asked you about your superpowers.”
“I’m just trying to maintain good public relations. Maybe you should try it sometime.”
“Ugh, no. I hate talking about myself.”
The three of you bickered amicably the entire way to the store. It hadn’t ended by the time you’d made it back to the tower kitchen and dropped your grocery bags on the counter.
“I’m just saying - it wouldn’t kill you to wear a hat or something to hide your face from reporters when we’re just trying to go to the store,” you griped, shrugging your sweatshirt off your shoulders and hanging it on the back of one of the kitchen stools.
“It wouldn’t kill you to try to be friendly to strangers every once in a while,” Steve retorted.
“Excuse me - I am a very friendly person! I’m just selective about it.”
“Friendly as an angry porcupine, sure.”
You gasped indignantly. “Are you saying I’m sharp with people??”
“You’re just a little… prickly.”
“Ooh, now that’s an insult,” Bucky hummed sarcastically.
“You’re just as bad, you know. Forget porcupines - you’re like a venomous sea urchin or something,” Steve shot back at his friend. You snorted.
“Steve… you’ve really got to work on your teasing skills,” you chuckled. “A ‘sea urchin?’ Really?”
“I could just take your ice cream”
You narrowed your eyes. “Don’t you dare.”
Steve held your gaze for a moment, eyes darting briefly to the bag on the counter between you with the ice cream inside. You lunged for the bag handle, but Steve predicted your move, snatching it out of your reach before you could get a hand on it.
“Damnit, Steve!! Give it back!” you whined, rounding the counter to swipe for the grocery bag. He turned his back to you, maintaining a barrier between you and the prize. “Bucky! Help me out here!”
“Nah, this is pretty funny to watch,” Bucky chuckled, snickering as you swatted at Steve’s arm.
“Yeah but your ice cream is in there too!”
Bucky sighed. “You make a fair point. Steve, buddy, give it back.”
Steve snorted. “You’ve been just as much a pain in my rear today! Why would I give it back to you either?”
You gasped dramatically, catching Bucky’s eye. “Are you gonna let him talk to you like that?”
“‘Course not!”
Without warning, Bucky lunged at his super soldier friend, tackling him to the floor. The bag of ice cream slipped from Steve’s grasp in his surprise, which you quickly snatched up before he could regain the wherewithal to take it back. With a triumphant shout, you tore the cover off your pint of ice cream and dug a spoon out of the drawer, swiping a scoop off the top layer and shoving it in your mouth with a contented sigh.
“Mm… finawwy,” you mumbled with your mouth full. Swallowing, you pointed your spoon accusatorially at Steve where he was currently trying to shove Bucky off himself. “You know, you’ve been a pain in my rear all day. You deserved this - it’s nice to see someone teaching you a lesson.”
“You two are pains in my rear every day!” Steve huffed as he grasped at Bucky’s shoulders and pushed.
“You did not just say that!” you gasped dramatically.
“Yeah, how dare you!” Bucky added, pinching at Steve’s side for emphasis.
“Bahah- Bucky, don’t start this,” Steve warned as he grasped his friend’s wrists to still his hands.
“Ooh! Wait!” You set your ice cream and spoon down on the counter beside you. “I want a go! Bucky, hold him there for a minute.”
“Whahat??” Steve laughed in surprise, a nervous edge to his voice.
“Sure!” Bucky offered, ignoring his friend’s protests as he maneuvered his wrists from Steve’s grasp and swiftly pinned his arms to the floor a few inches from his sides. “Quick, before he gets free!”
"On it!" You crouched down beside the super soldiers as Steve tugged against Bucky's grip. Without waiting to listen to Steve's protests any further, you began to scribble your fingertips into his exposed sides and ribs rapidly. You heard a thump behind you as Steve kicked his heel against the floor in protest, now pulling more frantically to escape his best friend's hold.
"HA-HEHEY! Cut it ohout!!"
"Nah. I deserve a little reward for tolerating you all day," you snickered, prodding at his belly. "Hey, Buck - where should I get him next?"
"Ohh, definitely under his arms," he suggested with a smirk. You pinched your way up his ribcage before slotting your hands into the narrow space between his biceps and his upper ribs. Bucky adjusted his grip to pry his friend's arms away from his sides as he attempted to clamp them down to limit the space under his arms.
"BUCKY!! Let me go-HO-HO this I-HI-INSTANT!" Steve demanded.
"No can do, buddy. I'm enjoying watching you get taken down a peg."
"DAHAMNIT BAHARNES!!"
"Oof, language Steve!" you teased, digging your fingers into the soft spot under his arms. "Where else is he ticklish?"
"The spot on his stomach right under his ribs - that'll really get him good." Steve nearly managed to slip his wrist from Bucky's grasp, but he quickly shifted his grip once again. "Better do it quick - I can't hold him much longer."
"Say no more." You pulled your hands free from under Steve's arms and danced your fingertips across the muscle-clad skin of his abdomen just under his ribcage as Bucky suggested. He threw his head back with a heavy stream of laughter at your touch, arching his back against the floor in desperation. It was only another moment before he finally succeeded in escaping Bucky's grasp.
Steve sat up swiftly, a playful but menacing gleam in his eye as his gaze immediately landed on you.
"Oh-ho, shit!" You scrambled to get to your feet to make your escape, groaning defeatedly when you felt a strong set of arms wrap around your waist and yank you backward.
“You really think I’d let you get away with that?” Steve asked rhetorically as he tightened his arms around your midsection to hold you in place.
“W-wait, Steve, we can- ahaha nohoho!” Your protests were cut short as Steve’s fingers kneaded into your sides. “Bucky! Hehehelp!!”
“Nuh-uh. You’re on your own, my friend.” The infuriatingly unhelpful super soldier waltzed over to the counter to retrieve his ice cream, planting himself atop the countertop and digging in while observing the two of you wrestling on the floor below.
“USELEHESS!!” you cried, attempting futilely to pry Steve’s hands off your sides.
“Nice try. You should know better than to mess with me by now,” Steve teased. He loosened his grip slightly to scratch at your belly. A rumbling laugh erupted in his chest when you screeched in protest and doubled over, suddenly much more frantic. “Oh, what’s this?”
“DAHAMNIT STE-HEE-HEVE!” Your grip on his hands was far too weak to even budge them now - not that you’d had any hope of succeeding before your muscles had weakened from his tickling. You leaned more heavily into him as you succumbed to laughter. He responded by lowering you down to lay on the floor beside him, freeing both hands to dart randomly around your sides and stomach. Weakly, you tapped your palm on the floor beside you in surrender. Steve threw in a few more exceedingly ticklish light scratches along your belly before relenting in his revenge.
“That’ll teach you,” he teased with a grin, offering you a hand to help you off the ground. You grasped your abdominal muscles that were now aching from laughter.
“I-hi… I’ll probably still mess with you,” you admitted breathlessly. Steve made a noise of protest in his throat and reached over to pinch your side, but you swatted his hand away. “Noho more! You’ll kill me!”
“So dramatic.” He rolled his eyes. “Here - here’s your ice cream. Hope it melted while you were tormenting me.”
“Harsh!” You snatched it from his hand and stuck out your tongue, then turned to look at Bucky. "And you - you were zero help, thank you."
"Hey! I held him down for you! I was very helpful, in my personal opinion."
The three of you went right back to your friendly bickering session, as though nothing had happened. Any outside might wonder how you could all be friends, but you wouldn't have it any other way.
Don’t Smile (Lizzie Olsen x Reader)
Summary: You’re playfully trying to be grumpy after Lizzie commented on how smiley you were, but she has a few tricks up her sleeve to get you smiling again.
Word count: 965
Warnings: None
Tumblr media
Lizzie loved working with you, you were cast alongside her for an upcoming thriller movie and it was your first big role, Lizzie was incredibly supportive of you and happily gave you encouragement and tips whenever the two of you were on set.
You were in a particularly good mood today, you were making jokes and teasing everyone, especially poor Lizzie since you saw her as an older sister.
“You’re always so smiley, Y/N, it’s sweet to see,” Lizzie commented, making you grin even more as you knew she was right. Being on set was your happy place and you loved how welcoming and kind everyone was.
However, due to your cheeky mood, you decided to play around a little.
“Oh yeah? I can pout!” You protested, putting on your best pout, and folding your arms as you did so.
Lizzie raised her eyebrows and chuckled. “We’ll see how long that lasts.” She challenged, sitting on the couch in the break room and patting the spot next to her for you to do the same.
“Bring it on.” You told her, sitting down next to her, you couldn’t help but wonder if she was going to try and make you smile.
Lizzie grinned, now dipping into her childish side by making silly faces, accompanied by stupid noises to add to the playfulness. However, all this did was make you roll your eyes.
“I’m not five, Lizzie.” You scoffed, nudging into her and pretending to be annoyed. But this didn’t stop Lizzie from continuing to try, she even started baby-talking and pinching your cheeks as if you were a little kid, but none of this worked.
Suddenly, she got an idea, and it went along perfectly with the childish theme.
She raised an eyebrow curiously and decided to test the waters by poking your ribs, watching you as you flinched, your eyes widening as you knew you were about to be busted.
“Uh oh, it appears you might have to smile, Y/N, I don’t think you’re going to get a choice,” Lizzie smirked and wrapped an arm around you, wasting no time digging into your ribs.
You shrieked in surprise, jumping away from her as you tried everything you could to not break into laughter, you shook your head and tried to shuffle away, a smile already threatening to appear on your face.
“Oh Y/N you can’t hide it from me…” she teased playfully, looking at the coffee table beside her and noticing a make-up brush which she used to touch up her face just before she went back on set.
Whilst still having a hold of you, she reached and grabbed it, smirking as you gasped and shook your head again.
“These are the softest brushes I’ve ever known… not only are they good for blending…” Lizzie started as she started wiggling the brush towards you, still wrapping her arm around your shoulder to keep you from escaping.
“Nonono don’t you dare!” You whined, biting back your smile as you knew what was coming, you tried to lean away as best you could but you knew you weren’t going anywhere.
“But they’re also good for tickling…” Lizzie told you teasingly before wiggling the brush on your neck, causing you to squeal and shake your head.
“Oh, was that a squeal?” She asked, moving the hand that was on your shoulder back down to your ribs and digging in once more.
“Nohoho!” You giggled out, finally cracking as you scrunched your shoulders up to try and push the brush away, giggles pouring out of your mouth. “Cheheheheater!”
“Me? A cheater? I can’t believe you’d call me that! I’m only trying to prove how smiley you are!” Lizzie gasped, now moving her hand down to scribble along your tummy as she dusted the brush under your chin, making your giggles turn into laughter.
“I think I’m just proving how ticklish you are instead,” the actress chuckled as she now abandoned the brush to squeeze rapidly into your sides, causing you to shriek and almost fall into her.
“SHUHUHUHUT UHUHUHUP!” You cackled out, trying to shove her hands away as you giggled hysterically, despite this being absolute torture, you didn’t hate it, it was nice to bond with Lizzie this way.
Lizzie gasped and suddenly squeezed your knees now, grinning at you as you squealed in surprise. “Don’t tell me to shut up!” She scolded playfully, watching you kick out and giggle hysterically, after a few more knee squeezes she moved back to tickling your ribs again, which seemed like your worst spot.
“OKAHAHAHAY I’M SOHOHOHORRY I’LL BE SMIHIHIHILEY!” You laughed out, leaning away from her as you began to run out of breath, you gave her hands one last weak shove before she finally stopped. She helped you up and pulled you into a hug.
“That was absolutely adorable,” Lizzie commented, giving you a little squeeze and a fond smile. She rubbed your back as you took in deep breaths, a permanent smile plastered onto your face.
“And that was unnecessary.” You replied, making Lizzie roll her eyes and give your side a quick squeeze.
“I don’t think it was, I now know how to make you smile when you’re either playfully pouting or feeling sad in general,” Lizzie told you. “Since you don’t hate it either.” She winked.
You blushed, shoving at her playfully but not denying her comment, but still quickly changed the subject.
“Yeah yeah, whatever, let’s uh, play Uno!” You announced, quickly going to get the pack of cards.
Lizzie just chuckled, unable to stop smiling herself at what just happened, she felt closer to you now and felt more protective than ever over you, even if she did use your weakness against you every so often.
But that was fine by you.
Crying Wolf
This fic can be read as a standalone, or as a part 2 to Fearless
synopsis: You notice Bucky pulling away from everyone. Steve says the best way to help is be yourself - to not treat him any differently. But now, thanks to Loki, teasing Bucky might come with some consequences.
pairing: Bucky Barnes x female reader (flirtatious), Loki x reader (platonic)
cw: swearing, ruthless tickling of the reader, mentions of trauma, inappropriate jokes
word count: ~5700
minors dni: this fic does not contain smut, but contains a suggestive storyline between the reader and an adult-aged character. I am not comfortable with engagement from anyone under the age of 18. Thank you for your understanding and respect.
note: I've had quite a few of you in my inbox and replies kindly asking for a sequel to Fearless, and it's been on the prompt list for a very long while. This is both a sequel and a standalone; you don't need to read Fearless to read this, but the story might make more sense if you do. I wrote Fearless several years ago, so please forgive me if this feels like a big departure from the initial tone. I hope you enjoy it all the same.
special thank you to sunflower anon for the plot idea 🌻
Bucky hasn't come to group training in three weeks.
He's quieter than usual, which is really saying something. You’ve seen it before, in the eyes of others who’ve been through the wringer; that distant stare, the haunted look that never quite leaves. You know it well enough to recognise it on him.
But the thing with Bucky is that he doesn’t want help. He doesn’t want to talk about it, and he sure as hell doesn’t want to be seen as a victim or a burden.
So, you're standing there, fists clenched around the worn-out edge of your training gloves, eyes locked on Steve, the only one who might have any insight. You're working through your own sparring drills, but your thoughts keep flickering back to Bucky. His absence from this moment. You can’t get him out of your head.
Steve is sweat-slicked and a little breathless, but still as composed as ever. You throw a quick jab. He easily dodges.
"Hey," you say, standing down, shoulders dropping. "What’s going on with Bucky? Why isn't he here?"
He drops his guard. "He’s been through a lot," Steve says, like that wasn’t the understatement of the century.
You roll your eyes, shaking your head, but Steve keeps going, voice quieter, more measured. "He’s... isolating."
"Yeah, I’ve noticed." You pick at the tape around your hands and then pull your firsts back to fighting stance. Steve is ready for you. You throw a hard punch at him this time, the impact sharp against his arm, but your mind is elsewhere. "Is there anything I can do?"
Steve steps back, wiping his brow with the back of his hand, and looks at you like he's searching for something. You don’t know what, but you can feel the weight of it, the way his gaze lingers. "Just… be yourself. Just show up, treat him like you normally would." He tilts his head to the side, a wry smile pulling into his cheek. "Push his buttons. Y'know, like you usually do."
You let out a humourless laugh, wiping some sweat off your forehead. "I didn't want to push him. Antagonising a super soldier doesn’t seem like the best way to go about it."
He cracks a grin, one of those rare smiles you’ve seen from him, and his eyes soften. "That’s the point. He’s tired of being that guy. The super soldier. He needs to feel normal again. Don't pull back - you won't push him away. He’ll come around."
You stare at him for a second, trying to decide if he’s being serious. He’s got that look in his eyes, the one that says he knows exactly what he’s talking about. But you’re still skeptical.
"If you say so," you mutter, tying your gloves tight.
Steve chuckles, patting you on the shoulder. "Good. Now run drill twenty-two."
.
.
The next morning, you walk into the kitchen expecting the usual chaos of breakfast prep and clinking plates. But it's quiet today. Too quiet. You see Steve and Bucky sitting at the table. Steve’s holding a mug of coffee, but Bucky… Bucky’s got a book in his hands. It’s a small thing, but the fact that he’s holding it, actually reading, is a rare moment of peace.
You pause, leaning against the doorframe, studying them for a second. It’s not often you get to see the two of them like this. Calm, together, in a room bathed in morning light.
Bucky’s got that unreadable expression. He’s focused on his book, but you can tell it’s more out of habit than actual engagement. His eyes keep flickering to the edges of the pages. His mind is elsewhere.
And then, an idea comes to you.
You walk in like you own the place - a quiet confidence that comes from knowing exactly how to mess with someone. You grab the coffee pot, pouring yourself a cup, but you don’t take your eyes off Bucky.
"Hey, Bucky," you call out, cocking an eyebrow, "you want some more coffee with your smut?"
Bucky’s brow furrows, and he looks up from his book, confused. "Smut?" he asks, the word foreign on his tongue. Steve glances up, and they both just look at you, genuinely clueless.
You take a casual sip of your coffee, leaning against the counter like you’ve got all the time in the world. "You know, smut," you say with a smirk. "Spice."
He blinks. "Spice?" He looks back at his book, flipping the page like he’s searching for something.
You chuckle. "Yeah, sex scenes. In books. The dirty stuff."
Bucky’s face flushes a deep red, his eyes darting back to the pages, and his lips start to part as if he’s about to protest.
"No need to lie," you say, giving him a mock look of doubt. "I’ve read it. No judgment."
Bucky’s face looks like he might combust. "There’s nothing like that in here," he says quickly, eyes shifting between you and Steve like he’s about to combust, but Steve’s choking on his coffee, trying not to laugh.
You bite the inside of lip, trying to hide your grin. "Are you sure? Because I swear I saw you flick to the page where it gets real spicy."
He looks between you and Steve, horror creeping into his features. "You’re… you’re joking," he says, half in disbelief.
You smirk, lifting your coffee to your lips. "It’s nothing to be ashamed of, Buck. It's popular. Hell, you’re probably the only one who’s hiding it."
Steve’s snorting into his coffee, clearly enjoying this, and Bucky’s still looking between the two of you like he’s caught in some bizarre fever dream.
You take another sip of your coffee, pretending to be nonchalant, even though you’re holding back a laugh. "Not gonna lie, I’ve read far worse than what's in that book you're holding."
His face flushes deeper, and his gaze snaps between you and Steve, who’s barely holding in a snicker behind his coffee mug. There’s a moment where Bucky just doesn’t know what to say, his lips parting like he’s about to spill something out, but the words don’t come.
And then, like a switch, the realisation hits him.
You watch as the corner of his mouth twitches in that small, tight smile you’ve seen before, the one that doesn’t come around often. But this time, there’s something more in it. A shift. You’ve broken through just a little, and now the teasing, the banter - it feels different. The air between you is charged, in a way you can’t quite put into words. It’s the first time in weeks you’ve seen any kind of genuine expression on Bucky’s face.
"You’re messing with me," he says, voice dropping to something lower, darker. The challenge in his tone makes your heart race just a little faster.
You lean back against the counter, your coffee cup held loosely in one hand, your expression deliberately neutral. "I’d never mess with you, Bucky," you say, a sly grin tugging at the corners of your mouth. "I’m smarter than that. Just trying to start a book club."
He doesn’t respond right away, just watches you with those penetrating steel-blue eyes, and you feel something twist in your chest. He points a finger at you, glaring with a mix of annoyance and amusement. "Tell Steve you’re joking."
There’s a tension in the air now, something that wasn’t there before. Something unspoken. Maybe it’s the way he’s looking at you, or maybe it’s the fact that for the first time in a long while, you’re really looking at him.
Steve’s chuckle breaks the moment, and you glance at him, a little relieved for the distraction. But Bucky doesn’t look away. His gaze doesn’t soften, but it’s sharper now - focused, intent. There’s an edge to his stare that makes your pulse quicken, and you can’t decide whether it’s because of the game you’re playing or something else entirely.
"You’re ridiculous," he mutters, his voice warmer than before, though still carrying that familiar edge.
Your breath hitches for a moment, and you can’t tell if it’s the sudden softness of his voice or the way his proximity makes everything seem a little bit… closer than it should be. But you stand your ground, meeting his eyes head-on.
But then, Steve clears his throat loudly, and just like that, the moment snaps back into place. The tension fades, but it doesn’t disappear. Not entirely.
Bucky looks at Steve, then back to you, and finally sighs in defeat. You smile to yourself, trying to hold in the satisfaction as Bucky gives you a glare with an undeniably playful edge. "I’ll let you off the hook. For now."
But as Bucky grabs his book again, his fingers brushing over the pages, you can feel it - the warmth that's simmering. It’s fragile, but it’s real. And for the first time in days, Bucky looks like he’s in the moment, not lost in the past.
He's here.
.
.
You’re mid-sentence, arguing that the protagonist’s internal conflict didn’t pay off, when the quiet creak of the library door pulls both your and Loki’s attention.
Bucky steps inside, the dim lamp light cutting across his face. His jaw’s tight, but his eyes gleam with something unreadable. He’s got the book in hand - the book - and you already know what he’s going to say before the words even leave his mouth.
He lifts the novel slightly, dark gaze flicking from Loki to you. "No smoot."
Your mouth twitches. "You mean smut, Buck."
Loki, of course, is the first to speak. He closes his own book with deliberate flair, settling into the leather wingback like a king on a throne. “What's this?”
Bucky's eyes don't leave you. "Not a single sex scene in here. Not even a kiss."
You exhale slowly, fighting to keep your expression neutral. "Must’ve been reading the wrong edition," you murmur, reaching for your tea.
Loki gives you a look that could be called gleeful if it weren’t laced with such dry malice. "Please, darling," he drawls. "If you’re going to gaslight the poor man, at least try to make it subtle."
Bucky watches you, head tilted slightly, his brow raised in amusement. "So you were joking," he says slowly. "Trying to get a rise outta me."
You lift your brows. "Trying?"
You don’t mean to sound breathless, but you kind of are. Because Bucky isn’t just amused - he’s focused. The kind of focus he gets when he’s squaring up with someone. His weight shifted just forward enough, like he’s waiting for something.
Loki, however, is thriving on the mischief. He conjures another book from thin air, holding it aloft between his fingertips, the cover glinting with gold leaf and something entirely indecent on the front.
"If you're is truly disappointed by the lack of literary debauchery," Loki says to Bucky, tone smooth and unbothered, "you might prefer this. Popular on Midgard, I hear. Something about dukes and corsets."
You cough into your tea, trying to keep it together. "Shit. Not sure I'd take Loki's suggestion for this stuff, Buck."
Loki's glare swings to you. "And why not?"
Bucky huffs a laugh, but it’s short-lived. His attention’s on you, too, gaze narrowing. "You should be careful who you're messing with."
Before you can respond, Loki cuts in, his voice sly and dangerous with the air of someone about to set the room on fire.
"If you’re struggling with her mouth, Barnes..."
You snap your head toward him. "Don’t."
Loki’s smile turns slow and wicked. "Oh? He doesn't know?"
"Know what?" Bucky asks, now looking to Loki.
"Loki," you growl, the warning sharp now.
But he ignores it entirely, already too far gone. He gestures lazily toward you, his tone almost sing-song. "She’s incredibly ticklish, Barnes. Mouthy little thing until you find the right spot. Then it’s all helpless laughter and desperate apologies."
Your heart lurches. "Loki-"
But the trickster’s already leaned back, positively smug. "Writhing, squealing," he continues, voice full of mock nostalgia. "It's delightful, really. Highly effective. I suggest you try it."
Bucky’s attention snaps to you. Sharp. Curious. Dangerous.
And then he moves.
Not fast - not overt. But his steps are steady, and your breath hitches the second he crosses into your space. You sink deeper into your armchair, instinct or gravity, you can't say which.
Bucky follows, slow and calculated, until he’s bracing one hand against the back of your chair, the other resting casually on the armrest, caging you in with practiced ease.
His head dips just slightly as he leans over you.
Your spine locks up. Your pulse is a drum.
You force yourself to tilt your chin up, meet his gaze. But it’s not easy - not with the way he’s looking at you, not entirely amused anymore. This is something else - playful, yes, but edged with something sharp. Something primal.
You don’t dare move.
His voice is low when it hits you. "You ticklish, sweetheart?"
Your skin lights up like static.
You don’t flinch. You can’t. He’s too close. Close enough to see the tendons in his neck, the glint of his dog tags, and the faint smirk pulling at his stubbled mouth.
You swallow, hard. "Bucky, I-"
"One more word about smut," he murmurs, "and I’ll make you regret it."
Your lips twitch.
Because this - this - is good. Bucky, letting loose. Teasing. You could almost cry from the relief of seeing him like this. Not haunted. Not withdrawn. Just a guy giving you hell.
"Understood?" he adds, voice low and rough.
You nod, trying to keep your grin in check. "Cross my heart."
He studies you a second longer. And then, without another word, he straightens and walks away - calm, controlled, leaving the scent of coffee and leather and adrenaline in his wake.
You exhale once he’s gone, sagging into the chair like your bones gave out.
And then, of course, Loki.
The bastard crosses one leg over the other, examining you with a look that says he’s just found his favourite soap opera and you’re the main character.
"Well," he says, smiling like a serpent. "That was electric."
"Don’t," you say quickly, pointing at him.
He raises a brow. "I’m merely observing. Stark’s infrared sensors probably picked up the heat signature."
"You’re such a dick," you mutter, crossing your arms tightly across your chest as you glare at him. You can't keep the edge from your voice. "Seriously, telling Bucky to tickle me? What the hell?"
Loki’s eyes flick up from the book in his hands, his lips twitching like he’s trying to hold back an insufferable grin. He doesn’t even flinch under your stare, too amused by your annoyance. Of course he is.
"Oh no," he says with exaggerated sympathy, looking up just enough to give you that devilish grin of his. "The handsome super soldier might pin you down and place his hands all over you. How ever will you survive?"
You glare harder and pick up your tea. "Whatever. You're still wrong about Hotchins in the third act."
Loki takes the cue and picks up your argument from where it left off as you try, and fail, to suppress the flutter of heat low in your belly.
.
.
It's the very next morning that you walk into the living room with the sort of easy confidence that comes from a good night’s sleep, a hot shower, and no immediate need to duck for cover... and you walk straight into a trap.
Steve and Banner are seated across opposite couches, coffee mugs in hand, data pads in the other, discussing something in quiet tones. Loki lounges like a bored cat - how he manages to drape himself across furniture like it was carved for him, you’ll never know. And Bucky...
Bucky’s seated on the end of another couch, boots planted on the ground, body relaxed but alert in that way of his. His eyes are lowered, reading. The book’s balanced in one hand, and the moment you see the cover, your steps slow.
Because you’ve read that one.
And that one is definitely not PG.
A laugh huffs out of you before you can stop it. "Oh my god. That book?"
Bucky doesn’t look up. But he goes very, very still.
You continue across the room, grin widening, genuinely excited. "How far are you? Wait - don’t answer that. Let me guess. Chapter fourteen?"
Steve chuckles into his mug, glancing over. "We know you were just messing with him the first time."
"I was, the other day," you say, hands up. "That book was clean. But this one..." You giggle, but you're actually kind of excited to discuss it with him- uh, the plot, that is.
But Bucky closes it slowly and tosses it down onto the table like it just insulted him.
He stands.
And something shifts.
It’s subtle. Just the tension in his shoulders, the way his head tips slightly to the side. But your stomach drops all the same.
Because you remember. His voice in your ear.
"One more word about smut, and I’ll make you regret it."
You laugh - nervously, this time. Hands up. "Hey now, hold on. This isn’t a repeat offence. I'm genuinely curious."
"Sure," Banner chuckles from the couch, not looking up from his data pad. "Totally sounds like curiosity. Not at all like a joke at his expense."
"Okay, wow, betrayal from all sides," you mutter, taking a small step back as Bucky starts toward you. "I’m just saying, I didn’t expect you to be reading that book of all books, I-"
He says nothing. Just takes another step.
Measured. Intentional.
You keep backing up. "Seriously, Bucky, I’m innocent this time. Genuinely. I wasn’t teasing you, I swear. I was-"
"Don’t run. Don't make me chase you," he says, voice low. "Just come here and take it."
Your heart spikes so hard it echoes in your ears. "Okay, see - that right there? That’s terrifying."
He takes another step. You bolt.
You turn, trying to whip around the couch-
-and slam full-speed into Loki’s chest.
Your breath leaves your lungs in a hard puff, and before you can untangle yourself, his fingers coil around your wrists. He ensnares you with far too much grace, and far too little resistance.
Then you glance over Loki’s shoulder. See the version of him still seated casually, still sipping tea.
Until it shimmers, and vanishes.
"Oh you son of a-" you gasp, already squirming. "You set me up - this was a trap!"
Loki chuckles, low and serpentine, in a voice only you can hear. "Who, me? Would I truly give Barnes a book I knew would provoke some commentary from you?"
Your stomach drops, you look up at him, breathless and flushed. "No..."
You tug at your arms, but Loki just tuts and holds you in place.
"C’mon," you try, turning to Bucky. "Truce. I didn’t mean anything this time. Just honest commentary."
Bucky smirks as he reaches you, the look in his eye somewhere between wicked and indulgent. "You always talk this much when you’re nervous?"
"I’m not nervous," you lie. "I’m smart. There’s a difference."
The two of them exchange a look, one that sends heat down your spine and makes your hands twitch in Loki’s grip.
"Let’s get her seated," Loki says lightly, dragging you toward an empty couch. "I’d hate for her knees to give out from anticipation."
"Oh fuck," you groan.
They ease you down - not rough, but not exactly gentle either. Before you can sit properly, Bucky swings a leg over your hips and settles, his weight pinning you in place.
"Steve? Bruce!?" You wriggle against your captors to no avail, shooting a desperate look to the bystanders. But they merely toast their mugs, a sign you're on your own. Your heart stutters as you turn back to Bucky and Loki.
You buck a little, instinctive panic fluttering in your stomach. "Guys- wait. Hang on-"
"Reasoning window closed," Bucky says calmly, adjusting his position. "You were warned."
Loki chuckles and pins your wrists above your head. "I believe Barnes has earned this one."
Bucky looks down at you, one eyebrow raised, the picture of mock deliberation. “Well? Where should I start, Loki?”
"Bucky, please-"
Loki smiles. "I’d hate to deny you the delight of discovery."
And then-
Bucky presses his fingers to your stomach.
You jerk violently and screech, the sound raw and high-pitched before devolving into a helpless laugh that rips from your chest like it’s been waiting days to break free.
"Fuck! No- Bucky!"
"Wow. You are so ticklish," he says, incredulous, like he’s just uncovered a national secret. He presses again, harder, and you twist, laughing uncontrollably as he digs into your sides.
Your muscles spasm. Your feet kick the cushions. Loki’s grip on your wrists is annoyingly effective.
"Wait, WAIT! I’m sorry!" you gasp, voice cracking from laughter. "I-I take it back! I take everything back!"
"Too late," Bucky says, smirking now, barely breathless himself from the effort.
Your laughter pitches higher as he shifts lower, targeting your hips, and your brain starts short-circuiting from the overload.
And through it all, even as your cheeks burn and your lungs scream, the warm, sharp heat of it stays with you-
He's laughing with you. Not at you.
He’s open. Present.
Alive.
So you brace to take your medicine.
Bucky's fingers scuttle lightly along your sides, dipping just beneath the hem of your shirt where skin meets air and nerves light up like a damn Christmas tree.
You lose it.
Your laugh is immediate - loud, cracked, breathless - and your entire body lurches like it’s trying to escape its own skin. You twist, squirm, kick, all of it completely fucking useless under the weight of a super soldier and the iron grip of a literal god.
"No- fuuuck, Bucky! I swear- I’m gonna-"
"Going to what?" he challenges, voice calm, maddeningly measured as he drags his fingers up your ribs, slow and deliberate. "Be more careful with your commentary next time?"
You shriek through another peal of laughter, your legs flailing against the couch cushions. "I was genuinely curious!"
Steve snorts from the other side of the room. "Sure you were."
Banner still doesn't even look up from his tablet. "This is what happens when you antagonise assassins with trauma and downtime."
You try to scream something back but all that comes out is a garbled, breathless sob-laugh as Bucky zeroes in on that brutal little spot just beneath your ribs, one hand holding you down by the hip while the other dances back and forth across it in merciless zigzags.
It’s not fair - he’s too strong, too steady, too fucking good at this.
"Buck, I swear-" you gasp between giggles, "-you’re gonna kill me!"
“You’ll live,” Bucky says dryly. But there’s a twitch at the corner of his mouth, that rare ghost of a grin that’s less threat and more reward. Like he’s enjoying this more than he’s letting on.
You glare up at Loki, who's still got your wrists pinned above your head, effortlessly casual.
"You traitorous bastard," you wheeze. "Let me go and fight me like a god."
Loki raises a brow. "And risk being thrashed by a ticklish mortal writhing like a fish on a dock? I think not."
Bucky hits a weak spot and you squeal, lashing out at Loki - “You glittery frostbitten motherfucker!”
"Language," Steve calls from behind his coffee cup.
Loki smiles cold and bright. "I wasn't planning to get my hands dirty, but seeing as you insist on dragging me into this..."
He moves your wrists to one hand and slides the other down your arm. You suck air through the giggles, eyes going wide, and shake your head.
"W-w-wait! No! I'm sorry! I didn't- SHIHIT!"
His fingers glide with awful precision into the hollow of your underarm, just a featherlight stroke to start.
You scream.
Your body convulses violently, torn between twisting away from Bucky’s maddening fingers at your lower ribs and Loki’s devastating scrapes along your underarms.
"No - oh my god - fuck, Loki, don’t-!"
"Oh, we’re well past don’t," Loki says smoothly, fingers trailing in tight little circles, never fully lifting, just skating and brushing and tormenting.
It’s like they coordinated this. The way Bucky’s hand shifts lower again, teasing at the crease of your hipbone with just the pads of his fingers - sweeping side to side, unpredictable and effective. The way Loki keeps his strokes light, fluttering, like he's writing a damn poem on your skin in ancient runes.
Your stomach jerks every time Bucky’s touch flirts with your waistband, and the pressure of him straddling your hips pins you in place no matter how hard you buck.
You try to thrown him off, but he just shifts his knees, anchoring you harder. The muscle under his jaw twitches with restrained laughter. He’s trying to look serious. He’s failing.
You gasp, flailing weakly. "I’m gonna die-"
"Can’t die from tickling," Banner says absently. "Elevated heart rate, maybe. Definitely some stress on the diaphragm. Oh, and laughter-induced fatigue is a thing, too."
"I hate science!"
"Noted," Steve says, grinning now. "We’ll put it in your file."
"She might pass out, though," Banner observes mildly, finally looking up.
"She’ll be fine," Steve says, sipping his coffee. "She needs the cardio."
You’re laughing so hard your voice is almost gone, hiccuping now, tears sliding sideways down your cheeks. "I- I swear- I’ll kill you both-"
"Already tried," Loki murmurs, deadpan, still tracing maddening circles under your arm. "Failed spectacularly, if I recall."
"Yeah," Bucky adds with a tilt of his head, "You’re not in much of a position to be making threats."
His fingers walk back up your ribs again, slowly, rhythmically, like he’s feeling each one - tracing the outlines like he's mapping you.
It’s unbearable.
It’s warm and raw and intimate in a way you didn’t expect, in a way that’s short-circuiting your brain and turning your limbs to jelly. It’s playful - but layered under that is a weight you can feel: that he's choosing this. Choosing you. Not mocking. Not hurting. Just being, here, with you, present and real and alive.
And that’s when Bucky leans in, face close to yours, his voice low and rough with amusement. "You bring up smut again," he says, "and next time I’m starting at your feet."
You wheeze. You actually wheeze.
Then he shifts his position just slightly. The movement is barely noticeable - just a subtle shift of weight, a lean forward - but it frees his right hand, which now dips lower.
You feel it coming before it lands. The anticipation alone has you screeching.
"No! No no no- not there-!"
But he does. His hand slips past your waistband, just far enough to press into the soft spot at your lower belly, fingers drumming lightly before grabbing at the hypersensitive nerves beneath.
You go feral.
Your scream dissolves into breathless, chaotic laughter, your entire body spasming under the onslaught. You thrash, but you’re caged by both of them - Bucky pressing you down, Loki above holding your arms in place like a steel-boned statue. You can’t breathe. Can’t think.
You’re just nerves and heat and helpless, writhing laughter.
Steve watches it all unfold, biting back a grin. "You know, this is probably against several peace treaties."
"Oh, absolutely," Banner replies. "But it’s compelling television."
You’d kill them too, if you could.
"Alright-okay-I’m dying," you gasp, choking on laughter, trying to twist away as Bucky’s fingers keep tormenting that same damn spot. "Mercy! Please, fuck - I mean it, I can’t-!"
"You sure?" Bucky cocks a brow. "Sounds like there’s still plenty left in you."
Your eyes close as you try to suck in enough air to speak. You kick the couch cushions blindly, and Loki’s fingers resume teasing your ribs, climbing up toward your armpit again, and your breath fractures.
"OH MY GOD- OKAY! I’M SORRY - FUCK - UNCLE, TRUCE, WHATEVER YOU WANT! I'M SERIOUS!"
Bucky finally stops. Slowly. His fingers ease off, dragging lightly across your stomach once more before retreating, and you melt into the cushions, panting, your body shivering from residual laughter.
Loki releases your wrists and stands, dusting his hands like he’s just completed a satisfying day’s work. “I’d say we’ve done a public service.”
You gasp like you’ve surfaced from underwater, cheeks on fire. You blink up at the ceiling and rasp, "I’m gonna have nightmares about fingers."
"Splendid," Loki says pleasantly.
"I hate you both," you croak.
Steve chuckles. "She’s lying."
Banner taps his tablet. "Endorphins through the roof. She’ll forgive you in five."
"Three," Steve corrects.
You let out a muffled groan, pressing your hands over your face. "I hate this entire team."
You don’t even realise when Bucky shifts - just feel the weight lift off your hips, the heat of him pulling away, the absence of torment like stepping out of a rainstorm.
Then his hand slips under your elbow and he’s tugging you upright, gentle but firm. Your limbs are jelly. Your lungs barely work. Your chest heaving with the aftershocks of too much laughter and too many nerves frayed to the edge.
You try to sit straight, but your body betrays you and you fall - helplessly, gracelessly - against his side where he sits.
Bucky lets out a low, amused huff as you slump against him like a puppet with its strings cut.
You mumble into the shoulder of his t-shirt. "I think I saw the light. Pretty sure it told me to go back to bed."
Steve snorts. "Not a chance."
You peel your face from Bucky’s shoulder just far enough to shoot a bleary glare toward the couch across from you.
Steve’s grinning around a mouthful of coffee. "It’s training time. Get your caffeine, get your gear, let’s go."
You groan and swiped a hand down your face. "I’ve already done my cardio."
Loki smirks faintly, straightening the cuffs of his shirt. "You’re welcome."
Bucky chuckles low, then pushes off the couch, offering you a hand. "C’mon. I’m game for some sparring."
You blink up at him. It takes a second to register what he’s said.
He hasn’t trained with the team in weeks. Not since things got dark again, and he started retreating into the corners of the compound like a ghost in the walls.
But now... he’s standing here, hand out, relaxed in a way you haven’t seen in too long. A flicker of light back in his eyes. Not all the way there. But present. Here.
You slide your hand into his, let him pull you to your feet, your legs still wobbly as hell.
As he turns toward the kitchen, you look past him - catching Steve’s eye across the room.
You don’t say a word. You don’t have to.
Steve gives a small nod.
You let out a slow breath and follow Bucky, faintly buzzed, breathless, nerves still crackling from the aftermath.
But warm.
An involuntary smile etches into your lips, eyes stinging as you blink back tears of relief.
It was worth every second.
Lovelynim's tickletober Day 4: Upside down
Sylus x Reader
Tumblr media
A/N: My sweetest ( @otomiyaa ) requested today's prompt, I hope you enjoy it baaaby 💕💖
Tumblr media
"S-Syluhuhus! I'm s-serious! Y-You better- ahahaha! Plehehease, S-Stop!"
This was so embarrassing. You never thought that a little training with Sylus in the N109 Zone would end with you hanging upside down with your feet firmly tied in a robe... and Sylus tickling you senseless.
He chuckled, his hands wrapped around your hips from behind, squeezing them gently to make you cackle; your laughter echoing through the vast area you both were at. You never hated your hunter uniform as much as you did at that moment.
"You better calm down, sweetie," he purred, smirking behind you. "Your loud noise will definitely attract wanderers our way and you're certainly in no position to fight right now."
"Thehehen s-stop tihickling m-m- ahahaha!" You choked on your laughter when his hands moved down to your tummy and the bottom of your ribs. "Syluhus!"
No matter how much you twisted, the rope only seemed to tighten around your ankles and your arms refused to move away from your sides to prevent Sylus from attacking another spot with his annoying tickles. You tried to reach back a little and push him away, but it was all useless, until the force holding you up disappeared and you shrieked, closing your eyes as you approached the ground.
"Happy now, kitten?" Opening your eyes, you found yourself in Sylus arms, Mephisto's caws reaching your lips. "I think my little pet likes you very much."
He put you back on your feet and you smiled when Mephisto suddenly landed on your shoulder. "I think I like Mephisto more than you. Stay three meters away from me."
"C'mon, sweetie," he said with a smirk, lazily following behind you. "It was a little joke, you were looking so se- ack!"
"Sylus!"
You quickly turned around, your guns in the air, ready to attack whatever was attacking your partner, but to your surprise... He was hanging upside down from a trap, his feet tightly bound. You blinked, lowering your guns before you started laughing. Sylus rolled his eyes and crossed his arms above his chest, clearly annoyed.
"Yes, yes. Very funny, kitten," he huffed, eyeing your laughing form. "You had your fun, now let's get out of he- haa!"
The muscles of his firm stomach trembled under your sudden touch. His sweater had slide down a little thanks to gravity, exposing his tanned skin, and you pressed your hand right above his belly button before brushing your fingers down. Sylus gasped, his skin covering in goosebumps as he tried to pull away.
"Kitten," he warned. "We've been through this before. I am not ticklish."
"Mhmm, you're not." Your fingers lightly danced against his abs, simply caressing them. Circling his belly button and following the lines of his hips. "And yet you're there squirming and shivering and gasping, are you not?"
"You know perfectly well," he said with a strangled voice, "that I can free myself at any moment, right?"
"Then do it." Your hands grabbed his hips and squeezed them, making him let out a funny sound. A held-in squeal or giggle or laughter. "Or you actually can't?"
"I'm s-seheherious- ack! Stop or else-"
"You're in no position to be threatening me, little crow."
Sylus couldn't help but let out a vibrant, deep laugh when you suddenly reached behind his thighs and squeezed them, causing him to jolt and growl, but ultimately, break into loud laughter.
"Oh no~, the almighty Onychinus Leader is in troubles~"
"F-Fuhuhucking s-stop! Kihihitten!"
Nightwing x Reader - Stay With Me Tonight
Tumblr media
A/N: This is my first time writing for a Nightwing fanfic and I absolutely loved writing this. I wanted to take a break from writing MHA fics for a little bit and I'm just going through a stressful time right now. So I hope ya'll like this
Summary: After waking from a nightmare about losing Nightwing, you’re still shaken when he stops by your apartment for a surprise visit. Sensing your distress, he insists on staying the night, trading patrol for peaceful cuddles and whispered reassurances. Until morning comes, and a little teasing about his cuddle game turns into full-on tickle punishment.
Ler: Nightwing
Lee: Reader
Words: 3,523
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was getting close to midnight and you were still awake in your apartment, drinking hot tea and sitting on your couch. You couldn’t sleep just yet. Then you heard tapping on your window. You looked up to see what was tapping on your window and saw your hero boyfriend, Nightwing, hanging upside down outside. He waved to you with a smile.
You smiled softly as you got up from the couch to open the window for him. “You look cute from this angle,” he said.
“What are you doing, dork?” you asked, chuckling a bit. Nightwing swung into your apartment, doing a flip before he landed on his feet next to you. “I wanted to see you.” he said, his voice low and flirty as he took your hand and kissed the back of it.
“Well, I’m glad you came.” you said softly and stepped closer to him. You wrapped your arms around his waist and rested your forehead against his chest.
Nightwing smiled and wrapped his arms around you as well, pulling you close. He nuzzled his face into your hair, taking in your scent. “I missed you,” he muttered. “I could barely sleep last night, been thinking about you.”
“I missed you too, Dick.” you squeezed your arms a tad tightly around his waist.
He chuckled and held you tightly, running his hand along your back. “You know, if you squeeze any tighter, you might break me,” he teased.
“Sorry.” you loosened your arms around him.
He laughed and planted a kiss on the top of your head. “Don’t apologize. I like it when you hold onto me tightly,” he said. “But you’re awfully clingy tonight. What’s up?”
You looked up at him. “Like I said, I missed you.”
Nightwing smiled softly, clearly touched by your words. “I know, but you’re even more clingy than normal.” he ran his fingers through your hair, gently massaging your scalp.
You closed your eyes and felt relaxed against him from his little massage. “Mmm,” you hummed.
He chuckled, enjoying your reaction. He continued to stroke your hair, pulling you even closer to him with his hand on your lower back. “You really did miss me, didn’t you?” he asked, his voice low and teasing.
You nodded. “Mhm.”
He smiled and placed his fingers under your chin to tilt your face up to make you look at him. He looked down at you with a warm smile on his face. “You know you don’t have to worry about me, right? I always come back to you.” he said softly.
“Yeah, I know.” you said quietly. You were starting to feel emotional, you blinked a few times and rubbed your eyes.
Nightwing tilted his head slightly, noticing the slight change in your demeanor. “You tired?” he asked, still running his hand through your hair.
“No, I…” you sighed softly then took a moment before speaking again. “Dick, I had a nightmare the other night that you didn’t. I woke up and saw the city had gone dark then I saw your mask on the floor. It had a tear underneath the eye and had a blood splatter. It… it scared me.” you folded your arms over your chest and looked away from him.
His expression softened even more as he listened to your nightmare. He gently lifted your chin and forced you to look at him. “Hey, hey, it’s okay,” he said softly, rubbing his thumb over your cheek. “It was just a nightmare. I’m here. I’m alive. I’m not going anywhere.”
You hugged him again and buried your face in his chest.
Dick wrapped his arms around you again, holding you tightly against him. He rested his cheek on top of your head and spoke softly. “I promise you, nothing is going to happen to me. I’ll always come home to you, no matter what. I promise.”
You nodded. “Okay. I’m sorry.”
He chuckled and pulled back slightly so he could look down at you. “Don’t apologize. I know you worry about me and I understand why but I promise, I’m going to be okay.”
You nodded again, understanding his promise.
He smiled and planted a kiss on your forehead. “Come on. Let’s get you some sleep.” he said, picking you up by your waist and wrapping your legs around his hips as he carried you over to your bedroom.
“You’re staying here with me? You don’t have to go out again?” you asked as he gently settled you down on your bed.
Nightwing crawled into bed next to you and pulled you close to his chest. “No, I’m staying here with you. I’m all yours tonight, and I don’t plan on leaving your side.”
“Then… maybe you should change out of your suit. I don’t think it would be comfortable sleeping in it.” you suggested.
He laughed and nodded. “Yeah, you’re probably right. I’ll be right back.” he gave you a quick kiss before getting off the bed and heading into the bathroom to change.
A few minutes later, Dick emerged from the bathroom wearing a pair of gray sweatpants and a loose white t-shirt. He placed his costume neatly on the floor by the bed. He climbed back into bed and pulled you close once again. “Much better,” he said, nuzzling his face into your hair.
You smiled softly and cuddled up against his chest. “Thank you, Dick.”
He smiled, his heart swelling with affection at the way you said his name. He pulled you even closer, his arm wrapped around your waist and rubbing your back. “You don’t have to thank me. I’d do anything for you. You know that.”
“I feel like I’m asking you too much. Asking you to stay here all because I had a nightmare.”
Dick’s expression softened and he shook his head. “Hey, you’re not asking too much,” he said firmly. “I want to be here for you, always. And if that means staying here all night just because you had a nightmare, then that’s what I’m going to do. You’re important to me, and I care about you more than anything.”
He held you tighter. “And I don’t want you worrying about me, okay? I know that’s easier said than done but please, try not to worry. I’m here, I’m okay, and I’m not going anywhere.”
You sighed quietly. “I know, I know I get paranoid but it just sucks that I think of the worst if I don’t hear from anyone for a long time. I guess that I need to trust myself to let myself know that you’re okay.”
He nodded, understanding your anxiety. He ran his fingers through your hair, trying to soothe you. “It’s okay to worry. But I promise, I will always come back to you. I’ll always find my way back to you, no matter what.” he pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead.
You buried your face in his chest, you could faintly smell his cologne. “I trust you.”
Dick smiled, feeling a sense of relief at your words and continued rubbing your back. “Good. Because I trust you too. You’re my rock, you know that? You keep me grounded, keeping me sane. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
You smiled softly. “Yeah, what would you do without me?” you asked playfully.
He chuckled and planted a kiss on top of your head. “I’d be a complete mess, that’s for sure. I’d be lost without you, wandering the streets aimlessly or worse, I’d probably end up adopting every stray cat I came across.”
You chuckled softly. “A cat lady by 30.”
He laughed, his eyes sparkling with amusement. “Exactly. I’d be the cat man, surrounded by a dozen cats, and they’d all be bossy little brats. I’d need you to come and rescue me from their reign of terror.”
You chuckled again.
Dick smiled, enjoying the sound of your laughter. He pulled you closer, resting his chin on top of your head. “Seriously though, I can’t imagine my life without you. You mean everything to me. I don’t know what I did to deserve you, but I’m grateful for every moment we have together.”
“Me too.” you said softly.
He gently caressed your cheek, his touch tender and gentle. “Good. Because I love you, more than you know.”
“I love you too.”
His smile widened, his heart swelling with affection for you. “I don’t want to ever lose you. You mean the world to me. You are my world. And I will do everything I can to protect you, to make you happy, to make you feel loved. Always.”
He kissed the top of your head, his lips lingering for a moment. “Forever and always. You and me, against the world.”
“Forever and always.” you said quietly in his chest.

He placed another kiss on your forehead before resting his chin on top of your head. “Get some sleep now,” he said softly. “I’ll still be here when you wake up. I promise.”
“Okay.” you closed your eyes and felt relaxed enough to slip to sleep.
He held you close, his hand gently stroking your back. He watched you as you slowly drifted off to sleep, his heart swelling with love and protectiveness. As he lay there, feeling the steady rise and fall of your breathing against his chest, he silently vowed to always be there for you, to protect you and cherish you until the very end.
As the hours passed throughout the night, Dick remained awake, his gaze fixed on you. He was overwhelmed by a sense of gratitude of being able to hold you in his arms and knowing that you felt safe and loved. He gently brushed a stray lock of hair away from your face.
As the night wore on, he felt a deep sense of contentment wash over him. He may have been a superhero, a vigilante who fought crime and put his life on the line every night, but in this moment, he was just a man, completely enamored by the person he loved.
He let out a deep, contented sigh and kept holding you close. He closed his eyes and nuzzled his face into your hair, his senses filling with the scent of you, a scent that was uniquely yours, one that he knew he could never tire of.
As the first light of dawn crept through the window, he finally let himself relax. He was exhausted, but he refused to let go of you. He whispered your name one last time, his voice barely above a whisper. “I love you.” and with that, he closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep, secure in the knowledge that you were right there beside him, safe and sound, and that he would wake up and be able to see your face.
The sun continued to rise, casting a warm, golden light into the room. Dick slept peacefully, his arm draped over your side, his face soft and relaxed in slumber.
Surely enough, you stirred in your sleep and yawned softly, slowly waking up.
Dick’s eyes fluttered open at the sound of your yawn. He looked down at you, a soft smile spreading across his face as he watched you waking up.
“Morning.” he whispered, his voice gruff with sleep. He gently brushed a stray lock of hair away from your face to place it behind your ear.
“Morning.” you said softly. Your eyes were a little blurry from sleep and you were still groggy.
He smiled more as he saw your sleepy, drowsy expression. He gently lifted your chin so that your eyes met his. “Did you sleep well?” he asked, his voice low and husky with sleep.
You nodded. “I did. What about you?”
He chuckled softly, his eyes sparkling with affection. “I slept alright, but there’s nothing quite like having you in my arms to make me sleep like a log.”
You chuckled quietly then stretched your arms out above your head with a groan and your spine arched.
His smile grew even wider at the sound of your laughter and watched you stretch from your sleep. He shifted slightly so that he was propped up on his side, his head resting on his hand. He watched you for a moment, his gaze roaming over your face, taking in each and every detail as if he couldn’t get enough of you. “You look so beautiful when you wake up.”
“Waking up with crazy bed head and feeling like I woke up in a different dimension is beautiful to you?” you asked jokingly.
Dick chuckled. “Of course. You could wake up with your hair sticking straight up and drool on your cheek and you’d still be the most beautiful person to me.”
You chuckled and shook your head. “I love you.”

His smile softened. “I love you too, more than anything.” he reached out and took your hand in his, lacing his fingers through yours. “I mean it, you know. You’re everything to me. I don’t know what I would do without you.”
He lifted your hand to his mouth and pressed a gentle kiss to the back of it, his lips lingering for a moment longer than necessary, as if he couldn’t bear to let go.
You smiled softly as he kissed your hand.
He looked at you lovingly, his eyes filled with adoration. With a soft hum, he wrapped his arms around you and pulled you on top of him, holding you tightly against him. He nuzzled his face into the crook of your neck, deeply inhaling your scent.

“I could lie here with you all day,” he murmured, “Just holding you, feeling your heartbeat against mine.”
You smiled against him. “Mmm, me too.” you said softly.
Dick smiled and lazily ran his fingers through his hair. “We should probably get up at some point though… responsibilities and all that.”
“Nah, it can wait.” you snuggled more on top of his chest.
He chuckled softly at your response. “Oh yeah?” he teased, raising an eyebrow. “You just want to stay here in bed all day, huh?”
You nodded with a grin. “Well yeah, You’re just so comfortable right now.”
Another laugh rumbled from his chest. “Comfortable?” he repeated playfully. “Is that all I am to you? Just a human pillow?”
You smirked. “Mmm, more or less. A human mattress, a lumpy one too.”
His eyes widened in exaggerated offense and gasped dramatically. “Lumpy?!” he repeated, his voice filled with feigned outrage. “Did you call me lumpy? I’ll have you know, I am a perfectly comfortable, lumpy mattress. Just the right amount of fluff for your comfort.”
You giggled softly at his playfulness.
He grinned, clearly enjoying himself. He leaned in closer. “You think it’s funny to call me lumpy, huh? I’ll show you lumpy.” he suddenly rolled the two of you over, pinning you beneath him on the bed with a smirk.
You squeaked as he rolled on top of you. “Hey!”

He chuckled, a wicked smile playing on his lips. “Oh, don’t ‘hey’ me. You started this, calling me lumpy. Now you have to pay the price.” he leaned in closer, his face hovering just above yours. “I think you need a little bit of… punishment.” he pressed his body gently against yours, pinning you to the bed. Your wrists were quickly pinned above your head.
You widened your eyes and started to struggle underneath him. “Wait, Dick! No, no, no!” you said nervously and tried to pull your hands down from his grip, knowing exactly what was coming.
He leaned down with his mouth hovering near your ear. “I think a little bit of tickling is in order,” he whispered, his words sending a shiver down your spine. “Oh, did I say a little tickle? I meant… tickle attack!” his free hand darted to your side and started scribbling mercilessly.
You shrieked and squirmed helplessly underneath him. “Ahahahahahahahahahaha! Nohohohoho!” you tried to pull your hands down again but he was still overpowering you, after years of training, you were no match to his strength.
His smile widened even further as he danced his fingers up to your ribs, squeezing and lightly scratching. “Oh, you’re very ticklish, aren’t you? And you’re squirming so much, it’s adorable.”
You blushed from his teasing and kept squirming. “Ahahahahahahahahaha! Shut uhuhuhuhup!”
He chuckled as he rapidly squeezed your ribs. “And now you’re blushing. I suppose I’ll have to continue this until you’re bright red all over.”
You tried to roll over on your side to stop his hand but his body kept you from moving and blushed more. “Ahahahahahahahahahahaha stohohohohohop!”
“I don’t think I want to stop. I’m going to make sure you never forget how perfect I am as a mattress. I think it’s time to count your ribs.”
“No, Dick, don’t!”
He moved his hand at the bottom of your ribs and started rubbing his thumb against each one as he counted.
“One… two… three… four, oops, was that one extra ticklish?” he smirked, pressing a little firmer.
“NOHOHOHO! STAHAHAHAHAP COHOUHOUHOUNTING!” you shrieked, tears forming at the corners of your eyes from the relentless laughing.
“Five… six… seven… ohhh, eight’s a bad one, huh?” he teased as he paused there and dug in with extra focus.
“AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA YOU’RE THE WOHOHOHOHORST!”
“Wow, you’re so squirmy,” he chuckled, his voice low and teasing as he moved his hand from your ribs to your side and gave playful squeezes.
He smirked, enjoying your squirming and laughter. He held you tight, refusing to let you move to get away.
“Oh no, you’re not going anywhere. You brought this on yourself by calling me lumpy. Now you have to pay the price.” and with that, he raised himself just enough to move his hand and dug his fingers into your belly.
“Ahahahahahahahaha! Dick! Nohohohohoho! Stahahahahap! I take it bahahahahack! I take it back!” you howled, still trying in vain to twist away.
“Hmm. That’s a start but I think you need to really mean it.” Without warning, his hand darted up and under your shirt, skittering his fingers all around your belly. You shrieked again, your hips jerking as his fingertips skated over your bare stomach and sides, making your laughter spike instantly.
“NOHOHOHOHO! NOT THEHEHERE! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!”
“Oh yes, right here,” he teased. “Right where you’re the most ticklish. Tickle tickle tickle! My ticklish sweetheart.”
“I’M SOHOHORRY! I’M SOHOHORRY!” you cried, still laughing uncontrollably.
“Hmm. I don’t know,” he mused playfully. “I think you might need to apologize again. But this time, let’s see if you can say it while I do… this.” suddenly, he moved your shirt up and blew a raspberry right on the middle of your belly.
You threw your head back and screamed with laughter. “AAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA NOHOHOHO! THAT’S SO MEHEHEHEAN!”
He smirked against your skin, enjoying your thrashing and loud laughter. “Oh, that one got you good. Should I do another?”
“NOHOHOHO! I CAN’T TAKE ANOHOHOHTHER ONE!”
But that just made him smirk more. He dipped his head and blew another raspberry, then immediately followed it with scribbling fingers along the sides of your belly and sides. You were gasping, laughing, and squirming so much you could barely breathe.
“DIHIHIHIHIHICK! PLEHEHEHEHEASE! YOU’RE NOT LUHUHUMPYEHEHEHE! YOU’RE NOT LUMPY! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!”
Finally from what it seemed like forever, he stopped tickling you and looked down at you with a smirk still on his face. You lay there beneath him, breathless and flushed, giggles still escaping in little waves as your chest rose and fell, and tears of laughter formed at the corners of your eyes. He released your wrists and shifted his weight off you, settling beside you on the bed. “You okay?” he asked softly, brushing a few strands of hair away from your face.
You let out a breathy laugh. “Barely. You’re evil.”
He chuckled and leaned down, pressing a kiss to your cheek. “Evil? Me? I just remember being called lumpy.”
You rolled your eyes with a grin. “I take it back, okay? You’re... delightfully squishy. The perfect balance of warmth and firmness.”
“Hmm. That’s more like it,” he murmured, nuzzling his nose against your cheek. He pulled you close again, this time cradling your head against his chest and sliding his fingers lazily up and down your arm. His other hand gently stroked to your back. “You know,” he whispered, “I think this might be my favorite sound in the world.”
“That little breathy giggle you do when you're trying not to laugh. Right before you lose it. It’s the cutest thing I've ever heard.”
You buried your face in his chest, laughing softly and blushed a bit. “You’re such a sap.”
“Yeah, well, I'm your sap.”
You smiled, feeling your heart skip a beat and reached down to link your fingers with his. “Yeah,” you whispered. “You are.”
The laughter was gone now, replaced by a quiet, glowing peace. With Dick’s arms around you, his warmth enveloping yours, it felt like the world had slowed down. And if it was up to either of you, it could stay like this for just a little while longer.

Hi since you’re not doing headcanons could you please do a fic of Elijah finding out human!reader is ticklish?
A wonderful Discovery
A/n: i hope y'all love it just as much as I did!
"Darling you have to get up, you know how upset Niklaus gets when we are late for family gatherings" Elijah said softly as he stroked your hair.
"I don't wanna" you grumble which came out muffled due to your face being pressed in the pillow.
Elijah chuckled as he softly traced your spine to hopefully make you get up, what he didn't expect was the soft giggle that came from you and even though it was very silent he heard it perfectly clear with his enhanced hearing.
"What was that hmm" he said with a small smirk as he traced your spine again.
"N-nothing" you stuttered out.
"Nothing? That sounded suspiciously like one of your adorable little giggles" his smirk had now grown to fully as he quickly flipped you over so you were laying on your back and rested his hands threateningly on your sides.
"Are you going to get up?"
You and Elijah's relationship consisted of many playful moments like this but this was the very first time that he had figured out that you were ticklish and...frankly you didn't mind it.
"Make me" you said with a defiant glint in your eyes.
"Oh I'll enjoy this" he said darkly before one hand started tasering your side while the other scribbled over your tummy.
"GHAHAHHAHA" You burst out laughing immediately, Elijah wasn't one that took playful challenges slow and this was no exception.
"Your laughing already, what could possibly be so funny?" He asked with a grin as he pulled you on his lap so your back was flush against his chest and continued his torment on your ribs and sides before suddenly switching to your hip bones.
You squirmed around on his lap as you threw your head back "YOUAHHAHA JERKHIHIHIHI"!!
"Now that's not very nice" Elijah said with a fake gasp as his stubbled chin went into your neck and blew a raspberry in the crook of your neck.
"ALRIGHTAHHAHA YOUHIHIHI WINHAHAHAH" you screamed out in laughter.
Elijah laughed deeply as he stopped his assault and just wrapped his arms around your waist, letting you sink into him.
You slowly gained your breath but still had red cheeks and a giant ticklish smile on your face.
"Your evil" you said trying to be serious but your smile betraying you.
"And you are gorgeous" he smiled and kissed you on the cheek before releasing you "Go get ready and maybe we'll make it there on time".
"Loveable asshole" you mutter with a grin as you stood up and walked over to your closet.
"I heard that" he mused as he simply wiggled his fingers at you but the threat was clear.
You squeak which draws a deep chuckle from him before quickly disappearing into your walk in closet.
God you really loved your boyfriend.

You groaned as you entered the common room. Mr. Aizawa’s personal training was brutal today, and you were not looking forward to feeling how sore your muscles would be tomorrow morning. Sighing, you grabbed one of Sato’s cupcakes from the counter and flopped onto the sofa, confident it would be unoccupied. It was about seven in the evening on a Friday, which meant everyone was either in their rooms or somewhere around town.
You huffed into the mattress before gasping at the sound of a page being turned. Looking up, you saw you were about a foot away from, in your mind, the strongest student in your class. He was sitting with perfect posture, reading a book with yellowed pages. On the coffee table sat a mug filled with tea.
Shoto Todoroki didn’t look up from his book at you. If he knew you were there, he didn’t show it. He silently read, seemingly fully absorbed. You sat upright, shaking off the embarrassment of almost landing on him, of all people.
You cleared your throat and gobbled up your cupcake in one bite, setting the wrapper down next to his tea. Still, he didn’t move. Raising an eyebrow, you poked him in the side to get his attention, and the surprised gasp he gave made you giggle. Shoto looked at you, brow furrowed in annoyance, but his face soon softened when you smiled and waved.
“Hi!” you said chipperly.
He nodded politely in return. “Hello, Y/N. I’m sorry I didn’t hear you.”
With a chuckle, you shoved his shoulder. “No worries! Whatcha reading, bookworm?”
Shoto tilted his head. “I’m not a worm.”
You sighed and repeated your question without the tease. You loved that your classmate was so adorably literal.
“I’m reading this book of old poetry. I don’t remember where I got it - it feels like my family’s always had it lying around. I decided to read it today since everyone’s out.” His voice was calm as he spoke.
You were somewhat interested in the subject but mostly just wanted to hear him talk some more. It was so rare that he spoke. “Anything good in there?”
“I found this one that I liked,” Shoto said before flipping back a few pages. “Rain on lemongrass. / Ash trees weep o’er their lost sun: / Their light and love, gone.”
The poem made you hum in thought. “What’s it about?”
“Well, isn’t it obvious?” he asked. Taken on its face, it was an insulting question, but you knew Shoto was genuinely unsure whether to explain it. You shook your head in reply. “The poem is about heartbreak. A woman falls in love with someone, and suddenly, that person has to leave. The woman feels like she has nothing left as she cries into a world that has bigger concerns than her. Soon, perhaps, her love shall return, the sun re-emerging from the clouds, but there’s also the possibility that she doesn’t last until then, and the wind blows her over. Ash trees symbolize grief, so perhaps they may never meet again. The lemongrass, evoking a cheerful memory, is smothered under the rains that hide her beloved.” Suddenly, he looked up from the page. “Sorry, I didn’t realize I was rambling.”
You scratched your head. “How did you get all that from just three lines?” You didn’t mind, of course. He was cute when he rambled. To your great surprise, he let out a soft and sheepish smile.
“Well, I suppose I have too much time on my hands,” he said, looking away. You smirked and poked his side again, giggling at his surprised reaction. Shoto let out a muffled yelp and jumped, glaring at you suspiciously and rubbing his side. “Quit that.”
“Sorry, Icy-hot! Can’t be helped!” You held up both your hands in mock surrender.
“Hm,” Shoto mumbled, looking back to the book. “This book was written entirely by hand. See? This character is slightly different here, here, and here,” he continued, pointing at different parts of the page. “And from what I can tell, its publication predates quirks, hence why they are not mentioned. If they had quirks, you would think there’d be a suggestion of their existence, no? Yet there’s nothing. For all intents and purposes, it seems like this book is a remnant of a simpler world.” His expression looked distant as if his mind were a hundred miles and years away.
You leaned back, folding your arms behind your head. “Sounds dorky. Maybe you should tell Deku! I’m sure he’d be all too interested,” you chuckled, then looked over. If he heard your comment, he gave no sign. He must still be lost in thought. Looking down at his side, you saw it was perfectly exposed. You were pushing your luck. Then again, what is a hero if not someone who tries their luck? You pursed your lips together and quickly extended your hand to poke Shoto’s side again.
But he was faster. As if expecting your reckless act, he set his book down and grabbed your hand before it made contact in one fluid movement. “You don’t listen, do you?”
“I do my utmost to avoid doing that, yes,” you said, giggling nervously. His grip was firm, giving you no delusions of escape. His hand was chilly, as if Shoto was threatening to encase your whole arm in ice at any moment. You tugged slightly.
He didn’t let go. “No, you need to learn this lesson.” Somehow, that was among the scariest things you’ve ever heard, right alongside the speech of the hero killer and Mr. Aizawa announcing an extra homework assignment before the summer break. Shoto pushed your legs toward the end of the couch, pinning you to his chest with both hands held behind you. You shuddered as Shoto said, “Now, learn well.”
Since both your hands were stuck behind you against his torso, you couldn’t defend yourself whatsoever when he descended both hands onto your stomach. You erupted into bright, bubbly laughter and kicked your feet like that would do anything to help. All that went through your head was repeated, ‘Oh, fuck, that tickles!’
You heard Shoto’s hum of approval from behind you as he clawed his fingers over the thin fabric of your shirt. “Interesting,” he mumbled to himself.
“ShIhihihihIt! ShohOhOHohotoHoHoho!” You shook your head and thrashed all you could, but it didn’t matter. Shoto was stronger, and he would make sure you knew it.
“Yes, Y/N?” he asked casually.
“STohohoHOAhaap!!” It didn’t have a chance of working, but it didn’t hurt to try.
“No.” Shoto’s clawed hands squeezed around your stomach in circles, taking a moment to dwell on your extra-ticklish lower stomach, which he took delight in exploiting. If you didn’t know any better, you would even say he enjoyed it as much as you were.
“NohOHoHOhoHT TheheHEherre!” you pleaded helplessly, throwing your head back to give your torturer the best puppy eyes you could… although they were far less effective than you had hoped since they were quickly squeezed shut in uproarious laughter.
“Here? Right here, yes?” Shoto released a flurry of pokes on your lower stomach as if he wanted confirmation.
You nodded and hiccupped, doing all you could to contain the blush that bloomed on your face at the sound of his cooing hum. Mercifully, he gave you a break, and you panted for breath against him. “Shihihitt…” you giggled, squirming in his grasp to get the ghost tickles off your tummy.
“Here,” Shoto said, and you turned to see he was holding up his mug for you. Gratefully, you took a big sip of the refreshing tea, smiling a little at the warmth of it. It was strangely sweet; you had expected Shoto to only like the bitter teas, but surprisingly, the flavor was somewhat sugary. As if reading your mind, Shoto said, “It’s chamomile. It helps me relax.” He took the mug from your mouth and set it back on the table.
Shoto cleared his throat. “Now,” he began, “Have you learned your lesson?”
“Is my release dependent on how I answer that?”
“Yes.”
“Then… Never!” You madly giggled as you attempted to escape his grasp before quickly regretting it. He had you suitably pinned, and to further reinforce his lesson, you realized with terror that he was rolling up your shirt to your ribs. “Wait, Shoto-!”
Your tormentor didn’t give you time to finish. Without fanfare, his hands descended onto your exposed tummy. Instead of clawing around, as he had done before, he was using quick scribbles, which, coupled with his cold fingers on your bare skin, was maddening.
“SHohOhoHOTO!” You had no idea you were so ticklish! By the looks of things, it seemed like he had been in tickle fights before, and from how badly he was wrecking you, he was used to winning them.
He hummed in thought as your thrashing weakened. “Your belly button is incredibly ticklish,” he observed. It was, to your dismay, very accurate. It didn’t help that his cold finger was heightening the feeling!
“PLehEHehEHHEase! MeheHEheheercyy!” you squealed out, kicking and bucking like a horse.
“Goodness, you’re dramatic. It’s only tickling, Y/N. If anything, this should build your endurance. What if the League captured you? I doubt you’d last a minute before you spill everything you know if they knew this weakness of yours.”
Why did he have to be so monotone with his teasing? He sounded so casual as if he were still explaining the history of that old book - only he was speaking over your hysterical cackling. He was a fast learner, too: he was pretty adept at locating the spots that got an especially wild reaction out of you and cruel in punishing them.
Shoto’s fingers increased in pace while always keeping one wiggling about in your navel. “I know,” he said, “I get it; you’re very, very ticklish. Now calm down.” You could hear the smile in his voice. He was having fun! “I wonder… you’ve inspired me to write my own poetry! Let’s see…” He paused to think, unfortunately not slowing down the tickles, making you yelp and shriek. “Ticklish cutie / Squealing on the couch with glee / With a cute tummy,” he slowly said as if writing it down. With a gasp, you felt him do just that, writing down the poem on your belly with the tip of his fingernail.
You turned beet-red as you threw your head back, your laughter turning silent. You had long since begun crying with delight, and tears rolled down your cheeks in rivers, but he didn’t stop until you started coughing. With a chuckle, he released you, and you panted for breath. You didn’t move from his lap, and Shoto didn’t seem to mind. He gently placed a hand on your forehead, tilting it toward him.
“Are you alright?” he asked gently. You nodded with a smile, which he returned. His smile was inviting, like a sunbeam on a winter’s day. He slowly helped you sit back up and handed you his mug again. You eagerly gulped it down. The tea was warm and sweet, and when you finished it and set it back on the table, you realized that Shoto wasn’t too different.
“Thank you, Shoto,” you said softly.
“For the tea?”
“Yes,” you replied, “and… for the tickles. It… helped me unwind.” You looked away and rubbed your neck shyly.
“You’re welcome, Y/N. It was fun for me, too. I don’t think I’ve ever heard you laugh like that.” He smiled again, a small treat like candy. “It’s nice to see you so carefree. You’re usually a ball of nerves,” Shoto admitted bluntly, making you sigh and nod in agreement.
You basked in the silence for a bit before both of you suddenly looked up. That was the unmistakable sound of… And right on cue, the word ‘mumble’ began to figuratively float across your field of view. At its origin, you and Shoto saw Izuku madly scribbling in his notebook and mumbling about something. You swore you caught the words “ticklish,” “stomach,” and “squeals.”
Behind Izuku, standing in the hallway, were Ochaco, Denki, Tsuyu, Mina, Eijiro, and Kyoka. The first two desperately attempted to quiet Izuku, to no avail. You sat bolt upright, glaring at the unwelcome audience.
Eijiro broke the silence with a playful swat to the back of Izuku’s head. “You got us caught with your nerd shit, Deku,” he joked, making the green-haired hero look away backfully.
“That was adorable!” Mina grinned, pointing at you. “You made a bunch of noise, so we wanted to check it out!”
“You’d better erase what you wrote, Deku.” You spoke calmly but in a way that gave no misapprehensions about your seriousness.
Ochaco looked over Izuku’s shoulder. “Doesn’t look like he’s gonna do that.”
“Midoriya,” Shoto spoke up. “Be sure to write that they couldn’t use their quirk while being tickled.”
You gasped at the betrayal. “Don’t you fucking dare write that, Deku!”
With a glance, Denki, Kyoka, and Tsuyu replied simultaneously, “Oh, he’s already writing it.”
With a growl, you shot from the couch. “You’re fucking dead, Deku!” Your classmates yelped with shock and ran down the hall from you, stifling their giggles.
Eijiro, egging you on, tossed back over his shoulder a snide, “Now you’re sounding like Katsuki!”
“Oh, I’ll make Katsuki look like a fucking bag of pop rocks when I’m done with you idiots!” Your threat carried no heat since it was filled with giggles. You couldn’t help but laugh at the ludicrousness of the situation, smiling fondly at how much you loved your friends.
And behind you, on the couch, Shoto grinned with pride as he picked up his book to continue reading. He was glad he had been allowed to be so affectionate with someone for a chance. Absent-mindedly, he picked up his mug of tea for a sip but sighed disappointingly at the lack of tea inside. Maybe he needed bigger mugs.

The Benefits of a Restful Sleep (and other things that a friend can help you with)
Kanene's notes: In my defense, Dogday is way too cute and kind. That was his mistake. Now I just HAD to make an entire story where he is alive and the Player is both the most stubborn bean ever and the biggest softie to set a foot in the factory. That is it. That is the entire story. Warnings: Mentioned death as a form of reset, angst and mention of injury and blood. It's discussed but not too deeply and isn't the main plot of the story. Raspberries, nibbles, lots of teasing, hurt/comfort and roothing fluff. Reader is adressed with they/them. Around 9.500 words. Heavily inspired by @fluffymary 's wonderful, incredible stories. Take a look at them too :D
[~*~]
You were exhausted.
That was a problem.
Sure, tiredness wasn’t really a new feeling in your life when you looked at the big scheme of things. Even before you went back to your old workplace, it used to cling on your bones, to fill your mind with memories and to pull your spirits down at any time of the day when a kid’s laughter or flowers would remind you of everything you tried so hard to leave behind.
(And look where you are now.)
The constant ‘fighting for your life’ thing also hasn't been helping a lot lately. Adrenaline and the will to keep on living were perfect for the battles but could only get you so far when the feeling of danger and fear scrutinized all of your steps, stalking in any and every corner, waiting for the right moment to strike. Days and hours became a total mess and the longer you spent on exploring and surviving, the more and more things that were once important started to fade to a background thought in your head.
Food was one of them. Water. Sleep. The debris and destruction brought a lot of memories and enemies but hardly a safezone where you could actually sit down, breathe and rest for a bit. It was fine, though. The solution was simple and quick.
Dying.
Sounded harsh when you thought about it in that way, to be honest.
Resetting.
Or something like that.
Not during a fight, of course. After the first couple of times, it quickly became annoying and no fun at all to have to experience all the chase and… other things more than once. However, on other occasions, missteps into an abyss happen and sometimes a bad calculation using the grabpack could be fatal (and more frequent than you should admit.)
You couldn’t deny its convenience. In a blink you would wake up, not hungry, thirsty or exhausted, a few meters behind your previous location and then you would be ready to go until the pain of hunger or the feeling of being in a brick of passing out appeared once again.
It was not the best, you knew, but it was a good enough solution.
It was fine.
(It was fine.)
Especially now, when you have someone else depending on you to survive. Saving Dogday had been tricky and much, much harder than the alternative. Keeping him alive after that, during the smiling critters chase and the aftermath, even more so. None of this didn’t really matter, though. It was worth it.
The beginning had been tougher. With all the emotions, the changes, pain (and how to keep going after all of that), going back to Home Sweet Home and getting into more trouble trying to turn on all the generators. The fact that, not very longer after getting into the Daycare, you found a new, clean fabric and a set of tools to take care of Dogday’s injuries was the perfect help, even if the coincidence of that encounter had bordered on a miracle that made your skin prickle in discomfort as you had stared at the sewing kit localized (placed) just a few meters away from you two. There was no way that this could have been accidental.
(Ever since you set a foot in this factory not a single encounter, voice, tape or battle seemed a coincidence and the fear of the image that this puzzle was creating haunted your every choice.)
Nevertheless, beggars couldn’t be choosers. Even though Dogday stayed unusually quiet for a really long time after his injuries were taken care of, he still insisted on using it despite both of your strong suspicions, not wanting to be a ‘burden’, anymore.
You disagreed strongly with that word, of course. Not only because his knowledge of the place and the little shortcuts or hidden spaces had been essential both to escape from the hungry toys and to make your path confusing enough to mislead any pursuers you had was essential to your survival, but also because…
Damn.
You just really missed this.
Chatting. Having someone truly by your side. No second intentions or guesses or working around to earn a couple of moments of dialogue. Just a companionship and a fighter if needed, someone bright who could, just with their presence and company, help to keep your focus and your objectives in mind.
Dogday’s voice was raspy and rough but his words were light and kind. He would insist on calling you ‘angel’ and gesture excitedly around when he was talking, pulling your attention back when you began losing yourself in your thoughts. He would help solving the complicated puzzles spread through the factory and hold your hand tight to hide the tremble of his own paws when you both went through somewhere too dark. He would joke and hold and help and you wished you could put in words how no trouble in the world could make his presence here not worth it.
That is why you couldn’t afford passing out right now. That is why you kept pulling one foot after the other and continued your path to the end of this hell.
Unfortunately, the very reason that kept you moving forward was the same one blocking you from actually managing to reset your body and get over that tiredness.
The fact that Dogday cared.
He was smart and quite smooth too. That was clear after all the times he would ‘accidentally’ get in front of you when you managed to step a bit too close from a deepless hole or how he would suddenly remember a shortcut that would have you to deviate from the giant abyss you had been eyeing for a few moments ago or when he distracted you as he followed another direction, a light pull on your wrist and a inviting conversation on the tip of his tongue, the pit getting farther and farther away.
It was a bit endearing, you couldn’t lie.
However, when a badly placed hand of your grabpack successfully made you slip from a fatal high and you only had time to listen to a surprised yelp (or more like a ‘yap’?) before a giant orange arm held you close to a fluffy chest you were actually torn between hitting something in frustration and melting in the warmth.
Dogday smiled, looking down.
“Ops, you almost fell in there, angel.” His eyebrow was crooked and his expression filled with tension and confusion. Yep. He definitely realized what was going on. That kind of sucks.
He started heading the other direction, taking a different path to where you were going. “You‘re really tired, aren’t you? Saving everyone must cost a lot of energy.” His eyes softened. You struggled to keep yours open, body inevitably relaxing with his voice and kind touch. “And, well, I don’t think you had a lot of opportunities to rest since you got here too, right? Ehehe. That is… a bit worrisome. Humans need plenty of sleep and we have been walking for a long time already!”
You have survived longer without it. It was fine. There were more generators that had to be turned on before anything else. Those were your priorities.
Dogday acknowledged the end of your sentence before shaking his head vehemently, his ears flopping around in an endearing way.
“The generators have been turned off for a long time now, a few more hours won’t hurt. You are our priority, angel.” Dogday tried to not let his tail wag in adorableness when he pulled you closer to his chest and you let your head and eyelids fall with a really tiny, quiet sound for a moment too long before opening them and watching him in a stubborn manner. “And I think I know somewhere where we can hide for long enough before continuing.”
He watched as you deviated your gaze, thoughtful. Almost there.
“Besides, my kind angel” he let his posture go, just a little. The exhaustion from… everything showing from the light of his eyes to the darkness of his mouth. Trusting had been what got him stuck but also what freed him. He could offer this human a bit more of it. “I-I really think I need time to recover. Sometimes it just… hurts.”
He looked down and you didn’t need to follow his gaze to get what he was saying.
Oh.
Oh.
That was what settled it. You nodded. But he had to put you on the ground.
You kept your expression firm and ignored his playful chuckle and the way he only pulled you closer with your words, because if he kept holding you, there was no way you would not fall asleep instantly and you both couldn’t afford that until he got to that safe place.
With a huff and a beginning of a pout he acquiesced and put you on the cracked floor, getting your point. He had to hide his snickers with his paw when you wobbled on the same spot for a second before eventually gathering your strength back, feeling a million times more tired.
Urg. Relaxing was a mistake.
“Don’t worry, it’s not too far from here. We will get there in no time!”
(...)
Took longer than he expected for you to finally lay down, but it was worth it. The place was one of the old dorms so there were a lot of pillows and mattresses thrown around, a few somewhat still holding a good condition for use. With the help of some furniture and moving around, you managed to barricade the door and build a sort of nest hidden in a farther corner so that it would be really difficult to notice through any window.
The human seemed ready to pass out at any moment, yawning and giving the door a last look, watching every creek and tear on the walls for anything that could be dangerous, even after all their previous care to make this place as safe as possible. Silly dear.
Dogday has always prided himself in being perceptive. Both because of the kids he once needed to watch and take care of and also because it’s important to notice and understand the details around your teammates so he would know when to help them.
(Old habits die hard, as it seems.)
And, yeah, maybe it had something to do with how long he spent without seeing a human or how he missed having someone (anyone-) who cared so much around. But he couldn’t really help to watch, prod and pick every little detail and gesture of yours around as if he was collecting flowers in a garden. Humans were so… expressive, and this one wasn’t different at all.
Angel was fierce and determined, going silently and non stop through the facility and all their objectives with a focused mind and precise movements. Their senses and general environmental awareness were good, too, catching hints and dangers just a second or two after Dogday himself caught them, which, considering their small ears and eyes, was an incredible feat.
Still, like a true angel, strength and kindness walked side by side with them. Dogday didn’t say that only because that person was the literal reason he was alive today, but simply because it was clear as water how much of a true softie you were inside. It was in the way they fired only around the small smile critters, avoiding to actually burn and kill them (even though he didn’t really know how he should feel about it), on how they carried and treated his wounds and how all their features - tensed, anxious and angry - softened everytime they looked at him.
It was on the way that they walked slower to accompany him, amusing his rambles with pokes of fun and interesting additions and in how each touch or word was filled with tenderness and respect. He didn’t feel like a toy with them like some old employers had made him feel before or a failure as… others made him believe.
So, his companionship was extremely captivating and maybe that was why it hadn’t been really hard to notice how the little tiny hints and actions came together to form a quite worrisome image of how disregarding about their own safety they were. Jumping into fights, crawling into dangerous, small spaces without thinking twice (he couldn’t get them there, if he needed he couldn’t get them there-), following strangers’ orders and running over cliffs as if their life wasn’t the thing that mattered the most and Dogday would always be there to catch them when they fell.
(What did they use to do when he wasn’t?)
Even now, he huffed as the human slowly took off the grabpack while still not even lowering themselves on the mattress or trying to get comfortable even though they seemed ready to slip into unconsciousness at any time now. Alert to the very last second.
It felt a bit nostalgic, if he was being honest. At least helping someone to go to sleep was a kind of problem that he knew how to solve.
With no further ado, he let himself fall on the soft pile with a ‘oof’, slowly rolling around the cleanest pillows they found and hugging the mattress as a loud, relaxed sighing fled from his mouth. His entire body seemed to untense with the unexpected comfortable feeling. How long had it been since he could just enjoy being surrounded by softness and safety like this?
His tail began contently thumping on the pile, another sigh leaving his mouth and making him forget for a moment his objective as he rolled more and more on the spot, the pure feeling of bliss taking over his senses until the sound of amused chuckles brought him back to reality.
He opened his eyes only to find an incredibly fond gaze looking right back at him. The absurd weight that haunted his friend’s shoulders seemed to have disappeared for a moment and, if he really concentrated enough on those kind eyes, it was like the rest of the world became unfocused. That is right! Dogday shook his head, as if cleaning it from his distracting thoughts. He had a mission to accomplish! Get the human to rest! No more fooling around!
“Hmmmm, It’s so, so, sooo comfy here!” Dogday controlled his voice so his playful tune wouldn’t show too much and give away his plan. He got a pillow and shoved his face on it just to highlight his words. “Like a kingdom made of clouds, where all the citizens get to lay down and rest all day, everyday and their favorite hobby is to cuddle and snuggle. Sounds like a nice place, don’t you think?”
You agreed, snorting when two expectanting lights turned around and Dogday patted the spot right beside him, only smiling bigger when you pretended to roll your eyes and finally, finally, laid down, barely touching the pile before your body crumbled the rest of the way.
It was… really soft. Even more than you expected from such old furniture but that could be the exhaustion talking. A relieved groan filled the place and before you could process that it came from your lips two arms came and carefully pulled you to a bunch of even softer fluff, which automatically made you snuggle closer, hugging the pillow (friend?) and relaxing, body aching with how much tension flew away from it so quickly.
A sweet voice said something in the background, but all of your senses melted together with your muscles when a hand began rubbing your back, drawing light circles on your spine and following it to your neck, briefly massaging it before going back to the back rubs.
That nice voice kept talking and you could briefly distinguish the words ‘deserve’, ‘rest’ and ‘good’ before the hand got a bit too close to your side and you giggled. The hand stilled but it was okay, it just tickled, that is all. No need to stop.
This was really nice, you kind of missed it.
You snuggled more.
All of it. It’s been a while.
As the darkness of the unconsciousness started taking you away, an amused, fond ‘aww’ was the last thing you heard.
(...)
You woke up with a scare.
Nothing necessarily happened, but your body immediately tensed, in alert. Blurry eyes traveled with speed around the room in search for any kind of movement, the silence helping to amplify the sound of any enemy that could be closer.
One second, two seconds…all you could pick up was the paused, calm snoring of Dogday still being deeply asleep.
Right. Safe. You were both safe.
You let go of a breath you didn’t even realize you were holding, blinking rapidly to scare the sleep out of your sight as you looked up, mind finally getting time to grasp the memories from last… (night? hours? day? irrelevant). The quick beating of your heart started to slow down to a normal pace and you laid down again on the mattress, now wide awake.
Dogday was still sleeping. That was good. He deserved all the peaceful rest he could get after everything that happened.
And, to be honest, it was quite amusing to watch him sleep. Each time he snored his big ears flopped just the slightest bit around and from time to time those little muffled barks would appear on the back of his throat and his tail would wag a bit, not so different from a real dog.
(He truly was a marvel of science.)
At one time you could almost swear he said a name, but it was so low that you couldn’t quite catch it.
Beyond all of that, you couldn’t deny how right Dogday had been, resting really did wonders to your body and mood. You could feel your mind clearer and your muscles less stiff, even if still quite sore. Also, it was made in a rush, that is true, but the soft pillow pile really was comforting enough that it didn’t make it any easier to get up and go on about your day.
Still, as always, there was work to do. It really wouldn’t hurt to get up in the vents and walk around a bit to see if there was any murder toy wandering close so you could attract them away before they could interrupt Dog’s sleep.
It wasn’t anything really that urgent, however,… It felt weird not doing anything in this place, to deliberately choose to stay instead of to move. Letting your guard down last night had been literally the only thing you could do with how exhausted you were and having a trustful friend close by your side, but now? When you were more rested and nowhere close to the exit? The jittery feeling was already catching up to you.
You tried to get up, only to be stopped by an arm closing on your midriff, a nose being pressed on the top of of head and nuzzling it with care before a raspy voice - you really needed to find some kind of oil or toolbox to help with his voicebox, sometimes it felt like he was always with a sore throat - glitched for a half second before coming to life in a quiet, slurred “Angel?”
Good morning, sleepy beauty.
Dogday huffed in amusement. Silence washed over you both once again.
A while passed and no more words were exchanged. Uh, probably went back to sleep already. You tried to carefully extract yourself from his hold.
“Mm? What happened?” Dogday yawned, sounding a bit more awake this time. “Do we have to go?” He propped himself in one elbow, using his enormous height to peak over the hiding place and watch the door and windows, ears perking up in a search of any strange sound. “I’m not listening to any danger. This is a good spot.”
You agreed, feeling a tad bad that you woke up your companionship unnecessarily with your unrelenting thoughts. Nothing really happened, you assured, he could go back to sleep if he wanted. You could stay with the guarding shift.
Rubbing his eyes and yawning more, the sentient toy then changed his focus to you, noticing the slight drop in your tune, mind becoming clearer as he added to that detail the stiffness that went back in your shoulders. His brain tried to connect the dots.
“Did you have a nightmare, sunshine?”
No, not really.
“What happened?”
It’s all just… too much thoughts. You wouldn’t be able to go back to sleep like this, not without a distraction. It would be the best if you got something to do, so he could go back to his nap. It was fine, you would stay awake in guard.
“I see.”
He laid back down, however, instead of letting you go and immediately go back to sleep, as you expected, he began massaging your shoulders, mouth turning into a pout when that didn’t make you melt completely in blissful slumber like last night, but at least got some of the tension out.
Even if it felt like the human continued to hold onto every last drop of stress for some reason, refusing to close their eyes or fully relax. Knowing their current situation, Dogday could understand. But still, his friend should be able to enjoy this little chance of a rest that they’ve got. They were both so tired and finally had a good place to spend some good old lazy time without being worried about running for their lives or seeing nightmares at each blink of eyelids. It was not the best spot that the factory could once offer, of course, yet nowadays it was like a piece of heaven.
He wished he could help his angel to enjoy it. Yesterday they seemed so happy. But unless he could think in a good distraction…
A sudden thought then popped in his head, a memory from what happened the previous night. An idea.
Hm.
“Sunshine, do you like games?”
Games? Like… hide and seek or catch?
Dogday nodded, looking eager.
Yeah, you did. Even so, you don’t think that making up some ruckus will be good to keep up their hidden spot, well, hidden.
“No, no! This one doesn’t involve running or anything that could give up our location. Actually, you won’t even need to move from where you are to play it.”
Really? Well, it was worth a shot, then.
“Alright. Do you remember what happened when we found those old rags in one of the corridors a few days ago?”
Yes, you did.
You watched as Dogday chuckled, like he knew something you didn’t and, with a crooked eyebrow, you stared at him, trying to remember the mentioned moment better.
Nowadays his fur was no longer the bright orange that it once was like the old cardboards and tv episodes showed, but at least it got a resemblance of a cleaned state after using some good-enough rags you found on the way to one of the generators. You both did the best to take out the debris, dust and blood from him. It took longer than it should because the taller toy kept squirming and wiggling around in an adorable inescapable fit of giggles, not really being a big help as, in between his laughter, he kept claiming that it really, really tickled.
As a good friend, of course, you just grabbed the rag he let fall after a bit of lil cleaning on his poor ticklish tummy and racked both hands up and down his sides, scribbling away while he hid his smile behind hands, muffling his loud crackles. The cleaning didn’t stop there and hunted each tiny spot and slight hint of dust off him with plenty of scratches, prodding and drumming everywhere your hands could reach, catching all the titters, snickers and snorts that danced in the rhythm of your fingers. Your own giggles did not take much longer to follow them.
Dogday’s paw continued to run in a light touch on your back and suddenly a bolt of electricity jolted you up when your mind connected the memory of his playful demisse to what he just said.
Your eyes widened and his expression opened into a smirk, sensing the very same moment you got to the conclusion that you were about to get absolutely and utterly destroyed with tickles.
You tried pushing him away, one hand twisting behind to catch his wrist as the other hand fought to snatch his free one, which kept flying away from yours in a game of mouse and cat.
“Wait, angel!” He couldn’t help but laugh, especially as your movements got more and more uncoordinated the longer they kept this little game, even before he truly attempted to do anything. A wobbly smile was already taking over your face, only growing bigger when every swipe he did in your direction - only to be deflected by your hands - made your entire skin tingle and prickle in anticipation. Each adorable reaction only assisting in making Dogday more determined that he choose the right distraction. “Don’t you want to know about the game? I bet that you will love it! I used to play and win all the time so I can teach you every special trick of mine.”
No, no, no, no! You knew exactly what he was doing! There was no such thing as a game!
“Gasp!” You were sure that Dogday would be dramatically putting a hand on his chest if it wasn’t for the rough housing, but sudden noise was successful to break your concentration. He used his trapped hand to sneak a quick jab on your side, ripping out a delightful screech before you slammed your back again on the mattress, both hands now in front of you, no longer moving, yet still ready to defend and attack. “I would never lie to you, my beautiful, beautiful beacon of light, the only and one sunshine, my angel.”
He was not going to succeed in distracting you again with those sugary sweet nicknames! You knew exactly what he was doing and you wouldn’t let him get you.
“No, no, you got me wrong, angel.” Dogday booped your nose, seeming like he couldn’t control himself with excitement and a smug kind of joy that only grew the longer you both stared at each other, waiting for the moment to strike. His tail wagged and he pretended to lounge at your stomach, stopping inches before touching it and drinking the way that a squeal escaped from your mouth, body stuck into a position between laying down and curling on itself, giggles quickly filling the room. Actually, you could feel yourself getting giddier at each second, completely aware that there was no way for you to get out of this and no other option besides wait for the next attack.
The way that this thought only made butterflies go crazy on your belly should be illegal.
Dogday continued as if nothing happened. “This isn’t the game. The game only starts when I start to tickle you, silly! And it is called ‘Try To Not Laugh’.” He managed to waltz through your defenses, his index finger and thumb catching your side in a grip way too light to even be considered a pinch. It made you try to squirm with a snort to the other direction, as if he just had unleashed a ruthless attack of squeezes on the spot.
His grin glimmered and he let you go, chuckling. You could feel the phantom touch still.
(Why did his paws have to be so fuzzy!?)
“It means that you can’t giggle, squeal, snicker, chuckle, snort, chortle, shriek or laugh! No matter how much it tickles, itches or ‘feels funny’.” Dogday counted each reaction pulling up a finger and you tried to not let your face melt as he just kept talking, looking more and more delighted with how each word seemed to make you twitch on the spot, his paws clawing in your direction when he was done.
Before you could think, he went for your neck, fingertips barely, just the slightest bit, grazing the skin before you catched his wrists and pushed them away, scrunching your neck as tiny tickly sparks spread like fire across your nerves. A sound akin to a keysmash left your lips and Dogday looked like you had just given him the best news of his entire existence.
He tilted his head and watched his own captured paws for a piece of moment before shrugging. He continued on with his explanation.
“In turn I will try my true best to make you laugh. And that can mean anything! I can fill your entire cute neck with aaaaall the raspberries that it could ever want, wiggle my claws on your ticklish armpits, play your ribs like a very lovely piano, squeeze your sides non stop until you’re dancing around like a wiggly worm, maybe even give your tummy a few scratches and scribbles, or, or even better! I can play ‘This little piggy’ with your toes over and over again until your sweet laughter fills this entire room like the sweetest melody. And then we can do it all over but with you giggling and snickering ringing free the entire time! Doesn’t it sound like a fun idea, my angel?”
Oh, you were going to die. Whether he decided to tickle you right away or keep the teases for who knows how long, you don’t think that your face would survive being under so much heat for so long.
Besides, this is not fair at all! He will win it anyway, you couldn’t hold on your laughter forever while he t-, while he attacks you.
“Aww, but, sunshine, tickling is hardly an attack!” His face got closer and suddenly you realized that he did not need any free hand to accomplish his first promise of tickles.
With wide eyes you tried to roll away, but to do so, you would have to let his paws go, and you knew very well that the moment this happened, it would be a game over for you. For the way that Dogday grinned in your direction, he reached the same conclusion as well. “Also, I can’t even touch you, right now! I think you can win this.” Dogday wiggled his paws in your hold, as if proving his point.
With (an eager) trepidation, you watched as his face continued to get closer, prying a couple of titters when his floppy, fuzzy ears brushed your own ears. He chuckled at your reaction, a mix of fondness and playful, fake frustration painting his words. “Sunshine, you’re already giggling? I will have to take my last words back, then, I don’t think this game will last too long, anymore.”
Oh ho ho, he should just wait, because when you get him back you then he was going to see who was-
Dogday shoved his face on the crook of your neck and immediately began nuzzling the spot without a worry in the world, successfully cutting your threat short.
Wait! Wait!
“Don’t mind me, angel, please continue.” He huffed and puffed on the spot, shivers running in a hilarious cacophony across your every sense, almost ripping a squeal from your lips. Actually, just like his words hitting the skin, you could feel the way that snickers began pooling in your throat, waiting for any tiny chance to escape. You clamped your mouth shut, a muffled snort taking over. You were going to at least try to hold them in and try your chances at winning this childish game, for your own pride, if nothing else.
He didn’t have his paws to tickle, right? I mean, how bad could it really be?
Dogday hummed, each word vibrating on the skin in an almost unbearable manner, making you want to jump away and at the same time let yourself get lost in the sensations. “What were you saying, angel? Please, don’t stop because of me! You know I always love to hear what you have to say.”
You shook your head, partially in an attempt to somehow escape from the tickling and partially to dissipate the energy that was building up on your system. Anything to not focus on the snickers bouncing freely in your chest.
“No? Not a word? Aw.” You could feel the fake pout the sentient toy did right before letting his features go back to that dangerous, mischievous grin. “I have a question for you, then! Do you know what is the tickle puppy favorite’s fruit?”
You knew a trap when you saw one, so you kicked your legs, trying and failing to let out any protest because you were sure that if you stopped pressing your lips in a tight line for even half of a second, there would be no stopping from the waterfall of laughter.
“Raspberries!”
A shriek almost made you lose when he unleashed the first raspberry, more and more of them being quick to follow right after. On the base of your neck, your collarbone, under your chin and in every inch on the unprotected spot. There was nowhere safe from the awfully buzzing that made every other feeling disappear, seeing to tickle every nerve and making tingles to run crazy in absolutely everywhere. He even grazed the back of your ears with a couple of raspberries, cooing when you tried to shrink and hide the spot by pressing them on your shoulder, only succeeding to leave the other side of your neck completely free for more nuzzles and tickles, an opportunity that Dogday was fast to take, taking turns in bashing every side of your neck in a tickly attention.
Another quiet, muffled squeak painted the air.
Dogday lifted his head again, entire demeanor completely melting for a piece of time when he saw you (oh my stars, look at this amazing smile!) before that joyful light was back in his eyes. Once more, he tried wiggling his paws out of your hold, but your grip continued to be as firm as ever, your wobbly smile shining in a challenge.
Oh, you’re just so fun!
“Gasp! It seems like I am stuck! Oh no, angel, what will I do now?” His gaze then traveled to your stomach, and all the hints that softness had ever been present in his features instantly evaporated as his face became something more playful, even a tad devilish, with a hint of hunger.
“My, my,” you didn’t exactly know why, but his voicebox glitched, jumping between a light taunting tune and his usual lower one. “Is that a delicious tummy that I see? Poor thing, it must be so cold to be shaking like this. Well, and what kind of friend would I be if I didn’t offer any help, huh?”
Your friend was quite tall and kind of clumsy when he walked around, too. Now, how that clumsy toy was able to, in a span of less than a blink, take a gigantic breath and immediately attack your stomach with it was a true mystery that you didn’t had a lot of time to think about when your entire body took a screenshot for a long, long second, ticklish sensations exploding in a frenzy, before your entire torso instinctively beginning to trash, loud peals of laughter jumping freely on the tip of your tongue, begging to be free. They cheered in excitement and only grew stronger when other smaller raspberries took their turn to explore every spot, every sensitive creek or place of your stomach, breaking more and more of your barriers, little by little. It took every single ounce of strength to not lose the game right here and there.
Dogday didn’t even pretend to be holding back, anymore. Right as you survived another tiny raspberry that got way too close to your side to be an accident, a nibble appeared, catching you so out of guard that it made your arch your back, legs kicking with adrenaline. But the tickly, light nibbles weren’t diverted, intertwining with tiny raspberries in a mischievous dance that increased your internal laughing into a tenfold.
That was when one of them hit the spot closer to your bellybutton and you couldn’t take it anymore. Your hands let go of his wrists to push his stupid smiling - so proud and so bright - face away, body squirming and eyes crinkling on the corners with mirth.
“I am free!” He laughed, pretending to not hear the tiny low titters flying from your mouth as you regained your strength, taking the breather as what it was. His ears twitched with every cute little giggle and he kind of wanted to immediately go back to bash every sweet, soft spot in tickles you until that beautiful laughter was ringing loud and free across the entire room and that soft, relaxed state you were in became so much common that he wouldn’t see you stressed ever again.
But he was going to wait for you to rest a tadbit first, that was the main objective of their game, afterall.
Feeling calmer, you looked at your friend, who jolted in the same place, seeing to get out of a trance. He recovered quickly and lifted his paws, easily slipping into the tickle monster persona as he slowly clawed in your direction.
“Now that my hands are free, I wonder where I should attack next…” He looked thoughtful, slowly bringing his paws closer and closer to your torso, wiggly fingers softly scrapping the ticklish skin, but not really drumming on it, not yet. “Maybe I should try your armpits first? Aw, but you were so jumpy when I squeezed your side that one time! And you seemed really excited when I mentioned tickling your ribs… Ah! So many options, so many options… We will have to try every single one of them, of course. What do you think, my giggly angel? Which one do I tickle first?”
None! Absolutely none of them!
“None?” He tilted his head, knowing very well how cute he looked like when he did that. “But then … Oh! I see!” Dogday snapped his fingers and you were pretty sure that if this was a cartoon a lamp would appear shining right above that absolute, silly, mean, goofball. “You want me to tickle your legs!”
What!
At your wide stare and sputtering pretenses of protests his smirk turned sharp, which didn’t quite help the anticipatory bolts of electricity that suddenly left you feeling even more ticklish than usual, trying to curl and hide your legs but feeling him dig more on your torso every time you did so. He continued. “That is why you didn’t stop kicking and squirming the entire time I was tickling your neck and tummy, right? Aww, sunshine, if you wanted my attention so much, you could’ve just asked!”
That was literally not the reason at all! Dogday!!
He hummed in an answer, turning around and easily pinning your legs by holding your ankles down, his touch so gentle that you were pretty sure that if you really wanted and struggled you could escape from it.
(And if that didn’t make everything even more endearing, you honestly didn’t know what would.)
Without wasting any more time, Dogday started squeezing the sensitive spot right above your kneecap, skillfully jumping from one leg to another unexpectedly, digging on the skin and following your leg around with no problem as a new round of kicks started once again, keeping up with the tickling. The ticklish sensations made your head spin, tingles spreading across your muscles and teasing all the nearest tickle spots, leaving them prickling in anticipation and a funny kind of energy that made every nerve of your knees crazy as more and more squeezes and pinches continued unmercifully assaulting the spot non stop.
A sudden move and you yelped when your legs were lifted, his curious hand worming its way under your knee to lightly scratch the sensitive skin there. The touch was so incredibly fuzzy, so adoringly soft that the sudden change from the rough to light technique almost ripped a series of snickers from your throat without permission, the hilarity and urge to laugh taking over your every thought.
Dogday continued scribbling and drawing shapes, leaving a couple of pokes here and there just so he could listen to those delightful muffled snorts.
(He would really love to listen to them more clearly, though.)
“You really love this, don’t you, angel?”
You barely sputtered out an answer before being obligated to clamp your mouth shut, uncontrollable laughter making your shoulders bounce as he took the chance to crawl his fingers upwards to your thigh, skittering them there for a couple of seconds before spidering them right back to under your knees, repeating the cycle for a couple of times before mirroring them on the other leg.
“When I tickle you.” He scratched under your knee.
“When I tease you.” He squeezed your calf.
“When I fluster you.” He swiped at the space right under your toes.
“It’s really adorable!” His paw stopped right on your sole and he pressed it, firmly enough that it didn’t tickle, still, for some reason you couldn’t stop your smile from becoming even more wobblier, the giddiness growing stronger and spreading in your every cell just like the heat that seemed to take over your face.
“Especially because I can’t wait to hear aaaaall those cute giggles and beautiful laughter that you have trapped right there.” Suddenly, he raked his fingers up, from your heel to under the toes. A squeal filled the air. Dogday’s eyes shone, like an arrow findings the target. His fingertips curled, kneading on the skin. “That is why I have to apologize, angel, because I lied to you. That is a game that I just have to win.”
He then attacked.
It was less than a half of a piece of time, but suddenly your soles were being overcomed with scribbles, scratches and wiggling everywhere they could reach. There were digging fingers under your toes and a spidering that followed them to the pads, tweaking and scritching them all while curious pokes payed attention to the entire path of your arches, even if shouldn’t be possible for him to be tickling both places at the same time. Nevertheless, Dogday’s paw was so big that he was able to torment both of your feet at once while still holding them through all the resulting kicks those created.
And the teasing… Of course there was also the teasing.
“There we go! Oh my, oh my, look at you! You just can’t help being so adorable, now, can you? Awww, angel, you always get this… sweet expression when you are happy, so I like to call it your happy face! It’s delightful. The corner of your eyes gets all crinkly and your face gets all soft and your smile… your smile is the best part, it’s so bright! No matter the size or the time, it really feels like we have our own special rays of sun down here.”
He found a rather sensitive spot right above your heel and immediately concentrated on it with all his might, drumming and prodding there as if the salvation of this entire factory depended on making you laugh.
“That is why it was so easy to see how much you love tickles, sunshine. First when you were tickling me a few days ago and now. Since we started that game… you didn’t even ask me to stop and all while you simply never ceased looking so adorably full of joy like this! I could really spend the entire day just here, you know? Tickling you silly over and over again.”
That did it. The barrier broke. Loud peals of laughter were fished from your lips. Every sound and reaction filled the air in a frantic, unrestrained melody of mirth.
Now, with them flying freely in the room, there were uncontrollable, hysterical giggles when Dogday decided to knead your calves up and down, those only being taken down by an unstoppable crackling, painted with one or two snorts, as his paws wiggled away to squeeze right above your kneecaps, taking his sweet, sweet time to give the ticklish skin under it a few swipes before moving away.
Finally, he let your ankles go, both paws resting on your sides, unbothered by all the squirming and protests that this simple act created, drinking in every reaction with a so fond, so tender gaze that it bordered on dotingly as you got another break.
You tried to take big gulps of air, but everytime your gazes found each other, titters grew anew, distracting you and leaving you in a constant state of a silly, giggly kind of joy.
M-Maybe he should reconsider! You laughed already, he won the game! That should be the end of this, right!
Dogday chuckled, fingers tuttering in their spot, curling and uncurling slowly, content to feel the trembling on the skin under them.
“The end? But we just started! And you still got so much beautiful laughter trapped right here to show.” With his index finger, he highlighted his word by tapping on your belly, right in your bellybutton, ears perking at the screech this brought. “So many cute snorts and melodious shrieks that I would love to meet. What kind of friend would I be if I didn’t help to let them out, huh?”
A flow of words, more unintelligible than anything, fell off your lips. A mix of pleas,  threats, high pitched giggles and some indistinguishable sounds that could only be considered a true keysmash rather than a sentence. Dogday hummed in agreement and nodded his head as if it was all a well constructed and understandable sentence.
“I knew you would eventually see my point, angel. You’re such a delight, you know, that?”
He smiled, so kindly and caring, and then he digged.
His paws, big enough to cover your entire midriff drummed non stop, squeezing the lower part of your stomach while scratching everywhere they could reach. He stayed there for a while before his wiggling fingers crawled up, scribbling and pinching your sides unmercifully. They looked for any weak spot, any lovely place that would make you snort and squirm away and latched there with pinches and kneading until your back arched, only then moving back to tickle your stomach until you went back to try to curl yourself in a ball, starting the cycle over and over again.
You felt almost high with laughter, the thought that it tickled, it tickled so so much and more than anything ever taking over your brain in sync with the loud, high pitched squeals and belly laughter (ha- Dogday would love that pun if you could say it to him) that chased after each other. After so much teasing, every tickle seemed to be accompanied by the brush of thousand of tiny phantom feathers that still tormented your stomach even when he moved away to your ribs, carefully pressing down on the bones and quickly scribbling with so much skill that it should be illegal the actual, loud crackle such a simple action created.
Your hands flied to hold his wrists, caught between pushing them away and pulling them close and, at seeing that, the sentient toy couldn’t help but feel himself melt and snicker fondly, barely controlling the urge to shove his face back on your neck and nuzzle and nibble the daylights out of it in a pure attack of cuteness. His tail was wagging so much that it dislodged a few pillows from where they were.
“Such a good friend. Such a cute, nice friend for me. For us.” The praises fell from his mouth naturally, your companionship too focused on keeping those happy reactions to really think too much about them. “You do so much to all of us, to me, and keep going above and beyond just to accomplish what you set your mind in. You’re brave and one of the strongest humans I’ve ever known. And there is so much kindness in you that I could talk the entire day about it! You saved me, you cared and tried and sometimes down here it feels like a nightmare but you… you make everything so much better, like a true angel. That is why I love this nickname so much. It really fits you.”
You tried to answer, to say how much especial, strong and essential Dogday was for you as well, but every time a single coherent word slipped from your lips he immediately reinforced his attack, fully aware that if you said anything sweet he would inevitably let his guard down and you would be able to turn the tables, and he really needed to say all of that to you before that.
His tickles were now focusing on keeping up the flow of starry laughter, watching them grow up to chortles and tune down into snickers as he scribbled in between each bone, keeping track of every special spot that pried a shriek from your lungs only to randomly attack it with prodding and poking, slowly fishing all kinds of joyful sounds that you could make.
He then buried his paws in your armpits, swirling the fingertips there for a few moments before digging energetically, fingers dancing and prodding every inch they could reach, which immediately made your arms come down with a loud chortle, head shaking and legs kicking at the sensation.
How was he so good at this?
Dogday gasped dramatically (not again-) and lightly pulled his paws in faux alarm, not really stopping his attack. “Oh no! Once more, you have trapped me!” Such a goofball. Such a silly, mean goofball and you could not wait to put your wiggly hands on and see how flustered you could make him be. “Dang, I really didn’t want to resort to this but I guess that I have no other option but to keep tickling and tickling and tickling on your poor ticklish pits forever and ever until the end of our days.” He then winked when he found your shining eyes. “But you would actually love that, wouldn’t you, my giggly sunshine?”
That was it. You were going to die. Right here and there. The playful tickles, the unrelenting teasing, the fond stares and gentle words… you could actually feel your entire body about to melt.
With a strength you didn’t even realize you had, you pulled your arms up to hide your flaming face, a pitched ‘eee’ sound mixing with the hysterical, absolutely uncontrollable laughter, your body rolling to the side and curling, shoulders bouncing with the force of each of your giggles.
Dogday let go of you, giggling together with your reactions, resting his hands on the ground and just observing, amusement and care clear as water in every trace of his features.
After a while, you felt a paw lay on your back, retracting for a bit when just that made you wiggle away, a new round of chuckles spilling, before it came back to rub your shoulders, touch kind and too firm to tickle. “Okay, okay, sunshine. I’m done. You can calm down for now.”
Laying down on the floor giggling yourself silly didn’t feel so embarrassing when Dogday’s own quiet snorts and snickers were quick to accompany you, especially since the rubbing really felt relaxing, making you melt on the touch bit by bit.
After a few minutes, when a comfortable silence had fallen on you both, you rolled on your back, finally being able to stare at your companionship without feeling like you would explode. Dogday smiled bigger at your direction. He lifted a paw to gently wipe a tear from your cheek, not thinking too much about it.
“That was so fun! I didn’t know you were so ticklish, angel. You are almost as bad as m-” He stopped right in his tracks when a gasp and a new string of titters fell like a waterfall from your mouth and you pushed his paw away, fastly rubbing your cheek so the feeling of fuzzy tickles would go away. It was like the softest makeup brush had just touched your skin, and you had no idea that just this could tickle so much.
Dohohogday! You sahaid you werehe done!
But your companionship didn’t answer. Astonished, he stared at his paw before looking at you again, gaze jumping from one to the other like he was watching a tennis match.
Suddenly his entire face brightened like the sun and he looked at you as if you had just said the funniest, most brilliant pun he had ever heard in his entire life.
“Aaaangel!” Every letter was bathed in pure, disbelieved delight.
No! You knew very well what that tune meant! No way! Nononono! Don’t you dare!
“Are your cheeks…”
Dohohogday! Don’t you come closer!
“Ticklish?”
Before you could push yourself from the mattress and jump away, there were two thumbs softly scratching on your cheeks, scribbling so lightly that it immediately made a giant smile take over your expression. Titters started to fill the air once more.
“Oh my… angel! This is adorable!” Dogday looked like he was about to bounce around the room with how much excited he was, his voice getting higher and glitching in excitement. “I can’t believe how fun and cute… You just… Ah, sunshine, I can’t help but!”
And before you could even blink, he shoved his smiley, stupidly fuzzy face right on your neck again, nuzzling there without a single worry in the world. His fingers kept  tickling your cheeks, sometimes even slipping to tease the back of your ears with a few scratches as he giggled in joy since he could literally feel the rumbling of your snickers. They twirled and spun in the air for much minutes more until his tickly attack from cuteness overload was finally finished and you both just kept layed down on the comfy pile, cuddling in between content sighs.
Dogday listened to your calm breath, saw how relaxed your entire body was and, according to the few sneaky peaks he had, saw that happy, full of mirth, smile was still in your face, leaving him melting in contentment, entire body relaxing as well.
Perfect. His plan had worked.
Not that it was that big of a deal, but it had been such a long time since he had the opportunity to…
He was just glad that it worked. That he still got it in him.
(Being playful. Happy. Helping the others. Being there when they needed him. Matter when it was necessary. Being silly and fun)
He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn’t sense the hand coming until it laid on his head, playing with the fur there and scratching on that place right behind his left ear that never failed to make him embarrassingly become a mush of pleased hums and wagging tail. A low, sleepy voice crossed the air.
You said you would take him out of here. It’s a promise, Dogday.
How his angel knew exactly what to say was a mystery to him. And, it didn’t quite hurt, but his entire being ached at those words. His smile was sad and he was glad that the human couldn’t see as he blinked quickly, eyes suddenly moisty. “Alright.”
There would still be some revenge when you woke up, though. Be ready.
And that reminded him so much of others playful, sleepy conversations he had before everything happened that it ripped a surprised laugh from him. He tried to look up to see the very much likely mischievous glint in his friend’s eyes, but a few more purposeful scratches turned him right back to a content puddle. He nuzzled the human a bit more. “Sleep well, angel.”
You too, Dogday.
(And sleep well they did. Lost in a peaceful rest as the entire world outside left them be.)

Random fun facts!
-There is a parallel I made by mistake between CatNap and DogDay and the whole 'trusting and following the being that saved your life'. It's not too deep and Dogday isn't as bad as Catnap but that was an interesting thing I noticed :D
-Different from the reader, Dogday is more used to the time down there so he has a good grasp when day and nights happens in general.
-I am actively ignoring the plotholes here about food and water here. Ya know when you have to poke holes in a lid so the bugs in the container can breathe that is what I doing kjhgfdfghyhgfd
-Nothing to do with the fanfic but I kept listening to this song when I was writing it and I think it's cute.
