The best part of Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy was when the Joker stranded two ferries in the harbour, rigged with explosives. Each boat held its own salvation: all the people on the boat had to do to get back to safety was press the detonator for the other boat, killing everyone aboard.
And the real kicker: one boat is filled with average, everyday people, and the other is filled with convicted criminals. Neither boat can communicate with the other. The longer time drags on, the more convinced that everyone becomes that the other boat will lose patience and blow them out of the water.
For a while, nothing happens. The guards on the prison boat keep the detonator away from the prisoners.
For a while, nothing happens. Honestly, the Joker thought they'd get to the punchline faster than this.
For a while, nothing happens. The guard who's holding the detonator is starting to look more and more nervous, and finally, a heavily tattoed prisoner calls out to him. It's an "I'm already damned" moment, and the man speaks words to the guard like he's the devil on your shoulder: What are they going to do to me, anyway? Just give me that detonator and I'll do what you should have when you first got your hands on it.
The guard hesitates, but... he wants to live. He's on a ship, damned to be blown up with the people that society says are dangerous—worse than worthless. As far as the other ship knows, the prisoners could violently overthrow the guards any moment. The ship full of civilians *should* blow them up (and the guard doesn't want to die). The guard extends his hand, holding out the device...
The man grabs it from his hand, opens a porthole and tosses it out the window.
He sits back down, glaring at the guard.

Little Nicky (2000)
This is a Movie Health Community evaluation. It is intended to inform people of potential health hazards in movies and does not reflect the quality of the film itself. The information presented here has not been reviewed by any medical professionals.
Little Nicky has several scenes that use brief strobe lights in the background. These scenes all take place in Hell, where a considerable amount of runtime is spent, and the strobes are moderate to strong, and unpredictable. This happens throughout the climactic sequence as well. A press conference scene has cameras flashing from all directions, and a movie clip from Scarface shows a close-up of machine gun fire.
Two shots involve the camera rolling sideways, which may be disorienting. A few brief scenes take place at extreme heights.
Flashing Lights: 8/10. Motion Sickness: 2/10.
TRIGGER WARNING: There are several instances of demonic possession, but they are used for comedic effect. A child vomits on-screen just after walking out of an establishment with two other children. In a later scene where two demons leave the bodies they are possessing, the second one happens with a vomit-type effect.

Zootopia 2 Hopes & Predictions
With Zootopia 2 announced, I wanna share some things I want to see, some things I would love to see but don't think will be shown, some things I don't want to see, and some other predictions.
• Unrealistic Hopes
- Bogo and Clawhauser confirmed as/becoming a couple - Bucky and Pronk directly confirmed as husbands in canon (and not just hinted at) - Reptiles and avians - Nick is bi - Jack Savage - Finnick speaking roles (since his voice actor, Tommy Lister Jr., passed away in 2020) - Jack Black voicing a panda as a clear nod to Kung Fu Panda but the character has absolutely no similarity to Po other than species - Some sort of reference/nod to The Bad Guys
• Wants
General - More Gideon Grey -- More of Gideon's new relationship with Stu and Bonnie - Learning Mrs. Otterton's first name - Learning Bogo's first name -- Learning Bogo's backstory - More Mr. Manchas - Nick's family - Mr. Otterton speaking role - Explanation as to how sloths function in a society like this - Judy Big (Fru Fru's child) - More Sam (the otter from Zootopia+) - Lore of Zootopia's founding - Canon confirmation that predators get their necessary meat-based proteins from insect-based foods - Continued inclusion of adult-based humor - Michael Giacchino doing the score again Characters & Species [Note: I know some of these species are already included in Zootopia 1 but I just wanna see more of those] - More rabbits and foxes as characters in the background - Deer - Bears (that aren't polar bears) - Equines - Hares - Goats - Cows & Bulls - Guinea pigs - Llamas - Camels - Bison - Hyenas - Ferrets - Uncommon* mammals (capybaras, chinchillas, anteaters, African wild dogs, meerkats, etc.) - Nice sheep - Tiger side character (with a speaking role) [* Uncommon in terms of typical animal-based things] Locations - More Bunnyburrow (especially the towns & buildings) - Judy's home - Deeper exploration into Sahara Square - Deeper exploration into the Rainforest District - Places (like Bunnyburrow) that are around Zootopia but not actually part of it - Shadier, seedier underground-type places - A mall - A movie theater - More of the museum - Spaces built mainly for large mammals like elephants and rhinos, as a sort of contrast to Little Rodentia
• Unwants
- Humans in any capacity - Deaths (especially of main characters like Nick and side characters like Judy's parents, Finnick, or Gideon) - Gideon becoming antagonistic again - Nick and Judy somehow having kids - More copoganda - Chris Pratt voicing a character - James Corden voicing a character - Any reference to bitcoin/NFTs - Any use of AI-generated art or voices
• Maybe-wants?
[I'm on the fence about whether I'd like to see these or not] - Explanation as to how domestic dogs and cats exist in this universe (which they do, or at least cats) - Explanation as to why there are no avians, reptiles, or marine mammals - Some inclusion of the scrapped shock-collar plotline - Explanation as to how ice cream is made - Lore of Zootopia's universe (like how animals evolved to become sapient and anthropomorphic)
• Predictions
- Nick and Judy will have another falling out but will get back together - Bogo and Clawhauser will be heavily included again - Bonnie and Stu will be side characters again - Finnick will be seen but won't have any sort of major role - The story won't be as good or topical as the first but the writing will be on-par - The story will be set either very soon after the first movie or a couple years later; it won't be too far in the future. - Nick and Judy will remain cops at the end of the movie - Zootopia+ will be referenced at least once - Flash will appear again
Sorry for the long post, I'm just thinking about the possibilities a lot.
I'd love to hear your opinions, wants, predictions, etc.!

John Arnold DeMarco is a man who believes he is Don Juan, the greatest lover in the world. Clad in a cape and mask, DeMarco undergoes psychiatric treatment with Dr. Jack Mickler to cure him of his apparent delusion. But the psychiatric sessions have an unexpected effect on the psychiatric staff and, most profoundly, Dr Mickler, who rekindles the romance in his complacent marriage. Credits: TheMovieDb. Film Cast: Don Juan DeMarco: Johnny Depp Dr. Jack Mickler: Marlon Brando Marilyn Mickler: Faye Dunaway Dona Ana: Géraldine Pailhas Dr. Paul Showalter: Bob Dishy Doña Inez: Rachel Ticotin Doña Julia: Talisa Soto Dr. Bill Dunsmore: Stephen Singer Sultana Gulbeyaz: Jo Champa Woman in Restaurant: Marita Geraghty Detective Sy Tobias: Richard C. Sarafian Grandmother DeMarco: Tresa Hughes Don Alfonzo: Carmen Argenziano Rocco Compton: Tommy Lister Jr. Mariachi Singer: Selena Quintanilla Judge Ryland: Gilbert Lewis Don Antonio: Franc Luz Maitre D’ (uncredited): Lorenzo Caccialanza Film Crew: Screenplay: Jeremy Leven Producer: Francis Ford Coppola Producer: Patrick J. Newmyer Co-Executive Producer: Brian Reilly Co-Executive Producer: Jeffrey Silver Choreographer: Adam Shankman Stunt Double: Lisa Comshaw Movie Reviews: talisencrw: I realize that I gave this too many marks, but if there’s anything I have realized about cinema, it can best be said by a line that I watched, performed by Jean-Louis Trintignant, where he stated (and I paraphrase), something like, ‘I can’t remember the movie, but I can recall my feelings’, and that sums up nicely why I feel the way I do about the movie. It’s an interesting idea acted well by very good actors (a lot of people dismiss Marlon Brando’s work here, but I don’t think it’s that bad, honestly). If anything, the problem here is the movie doesn’t know where to go after it’s decent start. Reno: **He who says every woman is a mystery to be solved.** One of the earliest films for Johnny Depp and very surprising. Thematically, the film is for the grown ups, but well made without too much sexual exploit. That means you can comfortably sit and watch with your family. This is not actually about Don Juan, but kind of ‘The Fall’. I mean the flashback reveals everything and remains as a mystery. The story follows a man who himself declares the real Don Juan DeMarco, the greatest lover of the world. So he ends in a psychiatric centre for the treatment after trying to commit suicide. A doctor who is on the verge to retire set to treat him and when the DeMarco narrates his life story, the doctor too inspires to reinstate his romantic life. The remaining narration tells how they work out to solve the issue once for all. Not a masterpiece, but kind of interesting drama, particularly for how the film characters were drawn. And the story was built cleverly, till the final scene by giving out the viewers a positive message that worth living life to love and to be loved. So if you opt it for the title, not a bad choice, since the theme remains about the love, even the person you are looking for is not present. More like it is a metaphor, when it comes to the real Don Juan and the one in this film. Like people say god is everywhere, the love is as well and so the version/personality of Don Juan in every person. Johnny Depp was so good, an ideal person to play the title role. Marlon Brando was too great, in a simple way. The rest of the cast was not bad, but the entire film focused on these two than anybody else. It’s been nearly 25 years since it came out, but I feel a remake would be not a bad idea with changes in the script. Todays writer and directors are clever at doing that, but it should come fr...

'Friday' Review
‘Friday’ is a popular comedy film directed by F. Gary Gray which was written by the film’s main star Ice Cube along with DJ Pooh. Since its release in 1995 many have labelled ‘Friday’ as an instant classic. The film has an exceptional blend of humour and social commentary; these were brought out even more through noteworthy dialogues and interactions between urban lifestyle characters. Even the soundtracks used within the film effectively match the scenes to which they were introduced.
Despite the film’s humorous nature, ‘Friday’ showcases serious social issues such as unemployment, drug use, peer pressure and even forms of intimidation. These apparent issues add to the film’s storyline making it truly relatable to struggles typically faced by persons within these types of urban neighbourhoods. However, at times I felt that these issues were a bit too stereotypical as it gave a poor reflection of the black community.
The film sets out in South Central Los Angeles within the confines of an urban neighbourhood, where it’s Friday and the main star Craig Jones (Ice Cube) has just been fired. Early in the film he is continuously mocked by his family and friends for this. His father (John Witherspoon) pressures him to find a new job and instead he ventures out with his long time friend Smokey (Chris Tucker). Their friendship exudes signs of brotherhood and loyalty as the two seemed inseparable at times.
The pair of them spend the day together searching for ways to pass the time. Smokey, which I may say is such a befitting name, continued smoking the weed Big Worm (Faizon Love) gave him to sell. Smokey’s weed addiction seems to be very amusing within the context of the film but it is actually a real life struggle faced by many. Nonetheless, he manages to convince Craig to smoke some of the weed with him, leading to a race against time to gather enough money to pay Big Worm or their lives would be in jeopardy. This not only highlights the effects of peer pressure but also how one bad decision can hugely impact someone’s life.
Additionally, the characters were constantly being harassed by neighbourhood bully Deebo (Tommy Lister Jr.). He was seen as the menace of the neighbourhood, a person that everyone feared dearly. It was only later in the film where Craig mustered the courage to stand up against him. Reminiscent of the battle between David and Goliath, Craig came out victorious. Craig was the town hero, the one who uplifted the community by standing up for what's right. As a result the people were less fearful of Deebo.
Overall, I found ‘Friday’ to be a good representation into the dynamics of suburban neighbourhoods as showed the typical struggles faced by these neighbourhoods. The film is a well constructed piece that showcases the various aspects of urban neighbourhoods in a comedic manner. ‘Friday’ really showed me why it is such a well-liked film as it shows relatable experiences to many viewers, especially those who reside in urban areas.
