To Eli: I heard that your Grandma Bonnie told you a funny story about your mom. She said that when Judy was little that she would try to stay up on Christmas Eve to arrest Santa for trespassing while delivering presents only to fall asleep on the couch.
Eli: "Actually, it was Grandma Bonnie and Grandpa Stu who told me the story. Apparently one year she started setting traps, like in the Burrow Alone movie... though none lethal, in order to capture Santa to citizens' arrest him. And one year... she actually caught him."
Judy: "Oh cheese and crackers! Mom, Dad, you told my kit this story?!"
Bonnie: "How could we not? You were just so proud of yourself."
Stu: "It really was adorable... albeit troubling for me."
Nick: "You set up traps?"
Judy: "I was a little kit!"
Eli: "Anyways, Grandpa Stu would always dress up like Santa and go around the burrow, leaving presents on the night before Christmas under the various trees set up around the burrow... with over 300 kits, there have to be multiple rooms with trees to lay presents under in order to keep things manageable. Anyway, one year, one of Mom's traps actually worked, and Grandpa Stu found himself caught in a net."
Nick falls over, laughing. Judy blushed while Stu and Bonnie chuckle.
Eli: "And when she ripped the fake beard off of him, Grandpa managed to convince her that Santa employs parents each year to help with the setting up of the gifts, which actually convinced her that he wasn't breaking the law."
Stu: "I had to think quick on my feet. In addition to the net, there were also several alarms she had somehow managed to set up as well, and that woke up the whole burrow. It was either tell her something like that, or let a whole bunch of kits find out that Santa--"
Bonnie, clapping a paw to his mouth: "Is super busy each year and can't stop to meet every child on his list, hence why all good little kits are fast asleep when he comes." Looks pointedly over at the couch, where a few pairs of ears are sticking up.
Stu: "Oooh... uh, yup! That's right. Also, good little kits don't eavesdrop on adults discussing secret Santa information!"
There were a series of giggles, and the ears disappear amidst the sound of hasty footsteps.
Nick: "They don't know it yet, but this year, I'm gunna be Santa around the burrow."
Stu: "Keep an eye out for Louise's traps. She's started using tripwires and glue."

Zootopia 2 Hopes & Predictions
With Zootopia 2 announced, I wanna share some things I want to see, some things I would love to see but don't think will be shown, some things I don't want to see, and some other predictions.
• Unrealistic Hopes
- Bogo and Clawhauser confirmed as/becoming a couple - Bucky and Pronk directly confirmed as husbands in canon (and not just hinted at) - Reptiles and avians - Nick is bi - Jack Savage - Finnick speaking roles (since his voice actor, Tommy Lister Jr., passed away in 2020) - Jack Black voicing a panda as a clear nod to Kung Fu Panda but the character has absolutely no similarity to Po other than species - Some sort of reference/nod to The Bad Guys
• Wants
General - More Gideon Grey -- More of Gideon's new relationship with Stu and Bonnie - Learning Mrs. Otterton's first name - Learning Bogo's first name -- Learning Bogo's backstory - More Mr. Manchas - Nick's family - Mr. Otterton speaking role - Explanation as to how sloths function in a society like this - Judy Big (Fru Fru's child) - More Sam (the otter from Zootopia+) - Lore of Zootopia's founding - Canon confirmation that predators get their necessary meat-based proteins from insect-based foods - Continued inclusion of adult-based humor - Michael Giacchino doing the score again Characters & Species [Note: I know some of these species are already included in Zootopia 1 but I just wanna see more of those] - More rabbits and foxes as characters in the background - Deer - Bears (that aren't polar bears) - Equines - Hares - Goats - Cows & Bulls - Guinea pigs - Llamas - Camels - Bison - Hyenas - Ferrets - Uncommon* mammals (capybaras, chinchillas, anteaters, African wild dogs, meerkats, etc.) - Nice sheep - Tiger side character (with a speaking role) [* Uncommon in terms of typical animal-based things] Locations - More Bunnyburrow (especially the towns & buildings) - Judy's home - Deeper exploration into Sahara Square - Deeper exploration into the Rainforest District - Places (like Bunnyburrow) that are around Zootopia but not actually part of it - Shadier, seedier underground-type places - A mall - A movie theater - More of the museum - Spaces built mainly for large mammals like elephants and rhinos, as a sort of contrast to Little Rodentia
• Unwants
- Humans in any capacity - Deaths (especially of main characters like Nick and side characters like Judy's parents, Finnick, or Gideon) - Gideon becoming antagonistic again - Nick and Judy somehow having kids - More copoganda - Chris Pratt voicing a character - James Corden voicing a character - Any reference to bitcoin/NFTs - Any use of AI-generated art or voices
• Maybe-wants?
[I'm on the fence about whether I'd like to see these or not] - Explanation as to how domestic dogs and cats exist in this universe (which they do, or at least cats) - Explanation as to why there are no avians, reptiles, or marine mammals - Some inclusion of the scrapped shock-collar plotline - Explanation as to how ice cream is made - Lore of Zootopia's universe (like how animals evolved to become sapient and anthropomorphic)
• Predictions
- Nick and Judy will have another falling out but will get back together - Bogo and Clawhauser will be heavily included again - Bonnie and Stu will be side characters again - Finnick will be seen but won't have any sort of major role - The story won't be as good or topical as the first but the writing will be on-par - The story will be set either very soon after the first movie or a couple years later; it won't be too far in the future. - Nick and Judy will remain cops at the end of the movie - Zootopia+ will be referenced at least once - Flash will appear again
Sorry for the long post, I'm just thinking about the possibilities a lot.
I'd love to hear your opinions, wants, predictions, etc.!

Part of me kind of feels like Judy’s parents are the type to track her location on her iPhone
Her first day in Zootopia, they see she went to work, stayed in the city (parking duty), and then went home
The next day they see she went from Sahara Square (The Mystic Spring Oasis), to the DMV where she stayed for HOURS (did she leave her phone there??) to Tundratown (Big), to Rainforest District (Manchas), back to the city (Bellwether), and then to the Meadowlands (Cliffside Asylum), all in the span of ~48 HOURS NONSTOP
Imagine that being one of the reasons they called her during her investigation at Cliffside: “ARE YOU LOST?! WHY AREN’T YOU AT HOME”

Disney+ Drops Walt Disney Animation Studios ‘Zootopia+’ Images
Zootopia gets its own spin-off series streaming later this week; six new stories return to the mammal metropolis for a deep dive into the film’s characters.
Disney+ has released a trailer for Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Zootopia+, a new series that heads back to the mammal metropolis named Zootopia and promises a deeper dive into the lives of the most intriguing residents, including Fru Fru, the fashion-forward arctic shrew; ZPD dispatcher Clawhauser, the sweet-toothed cheetah; and Flash, the smiling sloth all during the time of the original film.
All six episodes hit the streamer November 9.
Josie Trinidad (Zootopia, Ralph Breaks the Internet) and Trent Correy ( Frozen: Once Upon a Snowman, Drop) direct the series, and Nathan Curtis (Encanto, Raya and the Last Dragon) is the producer.
Episode 1 “Hopp on Board”
Judy boards the train from Bunny Burrow to Zootopia to begin her life as the big city’s first bunny cop, and Stu and Bonnie’s youngest daughter, Molly, board too. The down-to-earth duo is forced out of their comfort zone and into an action-packed rescue mission.
Episode 2 “The Real Rodents of Little Rodentia”
Newly engaged, Fru Fru kicks off wedding planning with enthusiasm and flourish—at least until her scene-stealing cousin Tru Tru arrives to assume the role of Shrew of Honor. A battle for the spotlight ensues until a close call with a giant donut reveals that, for better or worse, no one knows you better than family.
Episode 3 “Duke the Musical”
After being wrangled and arrested in a giant donut—compliments of Officer Judy Hopps—clever criminal weasel Duke reevaluates his life, pondering where he went wrong—in song. Then, in a musical aptly staged in his own mind, Duke contemplates how to go from a small-time crook to the Big Time!
Episode 4 “The Godfather of the Bride”
A touching tale about the powerful arctic shrew known as Mr. Big revisits Fru Fru’s big day when he delivers a revelatory father-of-the-bride speech. Then, returning to his days as Mr. Small, a new immigrant to Zootopia, he imparts the wisdom he gained about the importance of friends, family, and community.
Episode 5 “So You Think You Can Prance”
ZPD dispatcher Clawhauser persuades his boss, Chief Bogo, to audition for “So You Think You Can Prance.” The stakes are high as the ultimate prize is a dream-come-true opportunity to dance on stage with megastar pop sensation Gazelle.
Episode 6 “Dinner Rush”
As a super server, Sam urgently tries to finish her restaurant shift to make a once-in-a-lifetime Gazelle concert. But Flash and Priscilla show up at the last minute, hoping for a once-in-a-lifetime dinner.

To anyone that wants to answer: What saying/turn of phrase us humans have used has caused some embarrassing moments for you? Ex. Saying Tying the knot around a canine
Stu: "Eh... an older human, a nice gentlemammal who appeared here a few months ago, Mr. Melner, he caused a bit of a stir when he commented down at the general store about how he was so hungry, he could eat a horse. I should clarify that the general store is owned by Mrs. Neighbold, and... well... she is herself a horse..."
Bonnie: "Thankfully that one did clear itself up.... albeit rather awkwardly..."
Nick: "We did get a weird call a while back about a tiger who was terrified that a human was going to steal his blood. Apparently some teens were sharing a video about some famous human male who seemed like he was out of his mind on something during an interview... The tiger overheard it in a parking garage at night and got freaked out."
Judy: "You laughing about it after we got there and found out what happened didn't help the situation any, Slick."

The Great Zootopian Detectives
What if the great mouse detective helped Judy and Nick on their night howler adventure? How would things change? Let’s find out!
I OWN NOTHING, NADA, NOTHING AT ALL!! THIS IT JUST FOR FUN!!!
MAJOR SPOILERS FOR ZOOTOPIA
CHAPTER 1: Young Youth
“Fear, treachery, blood-lust.”
A bunny ran through the jungle, afraid of every waking moment,
“Thousands of years ago, these were the forces that ruled our world. A world where prey were scared of predators. And predators had an uncontrollable, biological urge to maim and maul,”
The young rabbit stopped and drank some water, unknownst to her that a tiger was stalking her slow but fast enough when-
“AHHH!!!”
The young rabbit screamed when a tiger pounced on her,
“Blood! Blood! Blood,” she started to milk it as she ran out of string and grabbed ketchup “And death!”
The bunny squeezed the ketchup one more time for dramatic effect, which none seemed to care for or were disgusted by, then she got up,
“Back then the world was divided in two, vicious predator,” The young tiger hisses, “and meek prey.” The rabbit dropped her ears and put her hand over her heart.
Just then, two boxes, one named viscous (vicious) predator and the other, meek prey, came out of the top of the stage and they went into it as a sheep danced around. When the boxes lifted they were all in a white robes,
“But over time, we evolved and looked beyond our primitive savage ways.” the rabbit says as the sheep pops a noisemaker, then the rabbit and tiger hold hands “Now, predator and prey live in harmony and every young mammal has multitudinous opportunities”
The sheep walked closer to the edge of the stage. “Yeah, I don’t have to cower in a herd anymore,” she took off her robe. “Instead, I could be an astronaut!” The crowd cheered, then the tiger walked forward and started to talk in a robotic voice because he was sort of scared “I don’t have to be a lonely hunter anymore,” takes off robe revealing to have a suit and tie, “today I can hunt for tax exemptions; I’m gonna be an actuary”
“And I’m gonna make the world a better place, I’m gonna be…” She takes off her robe “…a police officer!” Her mother an father look at each other in a worrisome manner
“Ha! A bunny cop! That’s the most stupidest thing I’ve ever heard!” a young fox laughs to his friend who was a ferret as the rabbit puts on her hat,
“Although it may seem impossible to small minds,” she looks over at that fox “I’m talking to you Gideon Grey,” then looks away when he scowls at her “but, just two-hundred and eleven miles away,” the jungle backdrop leaves and incomes a colorful cardboard city with the words ‘Zootopia’ on top of it, “stands the great city of Zootopia, were our ancestors first joined together in peace and declared,” the tiger and sheep grabbed a banner “That anyone can be ANYTHING!” and all the mammals cheered.
After the show had ended, Stu and Bonnie Hopps decided to try to change their daughters future plans, not to discourage her, now they still love her the same as all of her 125 brothers and sisters, but they thought that being a police officer would be very complicated, especially if you're the first rabbit cop.
Ever.
“Judy, have you ever wondered how your mom and me got to be so darn happy?” Stu asked his nine year old daughter,
“Nope!” The rabbit, Judy, said as if they just asked her if she wanted to go on a ride again, but Stu still continued, “Well, we gave up on our dreams and we settled, right, Bon?” He looked over at his wife, “Oh, yes, that’s right, Stu. We settled hard.”
“See? That’s the beauty of complacency, Jude. If you never try anything new, you’ll never fail!” But Judy still wouldn't budge on her opinion,
“I like trying, actually” She told her parents as she jumped on a haystack, Bonnie sighs and tries something else, “What your father means, hun, is that it’s gonna be difficult, impossible even, for you to become a police officer.”
“Right! There’s never been a bunny cop,” her husband said
“No!” agreed his wife,
“Bunnies don’t do that.”
“Never!”
“Never.”
Judy started to walk slower, indicating that she was sad or thinking, or even both.
“Oh,” She said, lowering her head for a second before lifting it again, “then I’ll have to be the first one! Because,” She jumped “I’m gonna,” She did a backflip and struck a pose “make the world a better place!”
“Or, uh, heck, you know, if you want to talk about making the world a better place, no better way then becoming a carrot farmer.” her father tried
“Yes! Your dad, me, your 125 brothers and sisters, we’re changing the world!”
“Yeah!”
“One carrot at a time!”
But Judy stopped paying attention to what they were saying when she saw two sheep one of her sisters and a mouse go to an area with no one and a certain fox and ferret follow them, so she ran in their direction and hid behind a line of hay,
The mouse was the only one who stood up to the bully the most “You can’t have our tickets!” He yelled but Gideon paid very little mind to what the mouse was saying “What are you gonna do, pipsqueak? Fight me? I’m much larger than you and you know it!" "That's to say the least,” The mouse said with a smirk on his face,
“Hey!” The fox was clearly offended by this and picked up the mouse and held him in a way where his hands were stuck and his legs were dangling, “The. Tickets. Are. Mine!”
“Over my dead body” Even if the mouse was at a clear disadvantage, he wouldn’t quit without a fight, so the fox laugh and was about to through the young mouse on the ground when Judy interfered:
“Stop!”
Gideon looked over at the bunny in a cop costume
"Oh look who it is, the bunny cop here to save her useless friends!” The fox laughed as he gave the mouse to the ferret, who was now squirming to get out of the ferret’s grip and failed.
“Kindly return my friends’ tickets,” she told him
“Sure, but where are you gonna find them? They ain’t in my hand or Travis” Gideon laughed, but the mouse wouldn’t let him get away with this,
“They’re in his pocket!” He yelled, and the fox, annoyed and confused, looked over at him.
“How do you know that? You never saw it happen!”
“Your pocket is opened outwards more stretched than it should be, and the long rectangular pattern your pocket has near the middle, indicates that the tickets are in that pocket!” The mouse said as everyone when quiet, staring in disbelief, he was right. The mouse was so busy fighting the fox and, yet was still able to observe all this.
“Well then, I’ll finish you later,” He said as he looked over at the small mouse who was still stuck in Travis’ hand, “but right now if our little bunny pal wants her tickets back, she’ll have to come and get them! But watch out! ‘Cause like you said in your stupid little stage play, us predators used to eat prey, and our killer instinct is still in our denah!” Gideon told the now scared Judy, but Travis interfered that moment, “Umm, I’m pretty sure it’s pronounced D-N-A.” But the fox looked over at the ferret in annoyance, “Don’t tell me what I know Travis!” Gideon yelled looking back at Judy,
“You don’t scare me Gideon!” she yelled before being pushed to the ground, the free animals ran and hid,
“Scared now?” He asked, smirking. The young bunny started to breathe faster, and Travis laughed “Look at her nose twitch, she is scared!” But the mouse wouldn't have it, he kicked Travis right between the vein and bone on his paw, in pain Travis dropped the mouse. Just then Gideon grabbed the mouse, “Oh you two don’t know when to quit do you?” He asked holding the mouse up high, “This is what happens when you mess with me,” He told the mouse as he scraped Judy on the cheek with his claw, he heard the screams of the other animals, then he looked over at Judy “I want you to remember this moment you think that you ever be anything more than just a stupid, carrot-farming dumb bunny!” He yelled in Judy’s face before leaving,
“Judy you ok?” Yelled one of the sheep
“Yeah,” she said holding up their tickets,
“Wow you got our tickets back!” the sheep exclaimed in happiness,
“Your awesome Judy,” Said the other, Judy smiled as she said “I couldn't have done it alone,” She looked over at the mouse, “Say, I’ve never truly met you before,” she told him as he turned to look at her, “what's your name?”
“Basil,” he said, “Basil of Baker Street.”
I WOULD LOVE FEEDBACK!!! THIS IS MY FIST FANFIC AND IM VERY PROUD OF IT, AND IF I GET LOTS OF LIKES AND/OR COMPLEMENTS I’LL DEFINITELY CONTINUE IT, IF NOT, I MIGHT CONTINUE IT!!

Watched Zootopia+ *SPOILERS*
Also, daaaaayum, a new Review post here after so long.
Spoilers, discussion, ranking and Final Verdict after the cut.
This was a fun amalgamation of short stories all in all, although, sadly, just like with Baymax and I Am Groot, not really that useful to hint at a possible sequel for this world and characters.
The fact each story also happened, chronologically speaking, at the same time of the main story of Zootopia (to the point they even cheaply re-used snippets of the movie instead of creating something new, especially focused on Nick and Judy) didn't really help.
Here's my ranking (with a bit of motivation too):
The Godfather of the Bride: The best short story (possibly also because of my bias towards The Godfather - Part II) and the only one that greatly expanded on the universe of the characters. The only flaw of the episode was the absence of Nick and Judy at the wedding of Fru Fru (considering they were there), but that's basically because they didn't have any good shots with the two from the movie to reuse here without having to call Jennifer Goodwin and Jason Bateman to reprise their roles (and, at that point, calling them only for a one episode cameo with new lines to record would have been a huge waste).
Hopp on Board: Most of what made this episode so good was the interactions between Bonnie and Stu Hopps. Also, slapstick comedy is always funny to watch.
The Real Rodents of Little Rodentia: Considering the premise, I wasn't expecting this episode to also have a sentimental portion towards the end, which I appreciated very much. I also liked the introduction of Fru Fru's friends and cousin, but the episode looses a position in my ranking in terms of breaking the continuity. Specifically, when Fru Fru almost gets crushed by the giant doughnut, since they re-used the scene from the movie, the mice that were with her outside the shop were not her friends, thus breaking the immersion of the episode.
Dinner Rush: It was kind of a bummer to find out the waitress Sam was NOT, in fact, Mrs. Otterton, with the writers basically missing the opportunity to expand on her character to have her be more than just "the wife that set everything in motion" from the movie. Flash and Priscilla also made the episode kinda annoying after a while (in my opinion, what made the DMV's scene of the movie so memorable and entertaining was probably the fact it was short yet felt like an eternity, but in a fun way, whereas here having to watch very slow characters for 9 whole minutes made the experience a drag). This one ALSO broke the immersion with its ending scene, since they tied this story with the finale of Zootopia and, once again, went against their own continuity (Gazelle's concert was at 6PM, yet Priscilla and Sam were in the same car Flash was driving as he was stopped by Nick and Judy, who JUST started their morning shift and patrolling...come on, not EVERY short story needed to be tied to the main one by reusing segments of it!). This was the worst tie-in to the main story they pulled in the whole series.
Duke the Musical: Aside from a personal dislike in musicals (although I've also watched many other movies which were musicals that I appreciated), this story didn't really bring that much, not to the character of Duke, not to "what happened as X was going on", nor in terms of "this character evolved after this experience". This episode could have been used to expand on some more important characters in the whole universe, like Bellewheter (personally, a "prison break attempt" episode or even showing her dealing with Mayor Lionheart to expand on what her daily life was that pushed her to scheme the whole "let's show how predators are dangerous" plot from the movie would have been much better than a musical number that ultimately didn't change anything...I wonder if the reason for Bellwether's absence in the series was because they were not able to bring Jenny Slate back to reprise her role).
So You Think You Can Prance: Let me get this straight. You ALREADY have only 6 episodes for this series. Each one being ONLY 10 minutes long (even less, once you remove the opening and end credits). You were able to have Shakira come back to reprise her role as Gazelle and Idris Elba to reprise his role as Chief Bogo... And you made THE WHOLE EPISODE being just a dream of Clawhouser? Dream episodes are absolutely THE WORST you can come up with in terms of entertainment and are a HUGE waste of the watcher's time. I want those 9-10 minutes of my life back, Disney!
Final Verdict: 6/10
Not bad, but, again, the whole experience didn't give me the impression this was done with the goal to reignite everyone's interest back into the Zootopia universe to launch a sequel (which was ALREADY supposed to be set to launch in 2021).
At this point, I doubt we will ever get one.
