Tokusatsu Review from May 2015: Space Sheriff Gavan The Movie Wikipedia: Space Sheriff Gavan: The Movie is a 2012 Japanese tokusatsu film to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the Metal Hero Series’ first entry, Space Sheriff Gavan, and is a sequel to the Space Sheriff series.Kenji Ohba, Toshiaki Nishizawa, and Shōzō Iizuka reprise their roles from the original television series. The catchphrases for the movie are “Farewell tears, welcome courage!” and “Now Jōchaku, the one who inherits the silvery soul: when crisis approaches the galaxy, the Space Sheriffs rise up.” DVD’s: Malaysian Imports available on Ebay. (shipping takes about a month) Languages: Audio: Japanese Subtitles: English, Chinese, Malay Packaging: Good. Regular DVD case. The cover image design could have been better. Looks like an old movie instead of a new one. The movie poster on Wikipedia would have made a much better cover. Subtitles: Great. I don’t speak Japanese so I can’t speak to the accuracy. Content: Awesome. After watching Super Hero Taisen Z, I found the character of Geki Jumonji compelling and really wanted to here more people yell, “Geki!”, so picking up this movie was a no brainer! This movie has another visit from Toei legend Kenji Ohba as well as one or two other veterans from the original Space Sheriff Gavan show. The character drama in this one is compelling. The sad part about this movie is that after all the work they put into Geki’s character in this movie and Super Hero Taisen Z, there is no 30-50 episode series to go with these movies, and as these movies are from 2012, there is really no chance of it happening. Buy/Don’t Buy: Buy this and buy this now. It is already 3 years old and the price is indicative of low remaining stock. When your girl is difficult to impress… Space Sheriff Gavan: The Movie (2012) Toei Geki Jumonji (十文字 撃 Jūmonji Geki): Yuma Ishigaki (石垣 佑磨 Ishigaki Yūma) is a member of the Galactic Union Police (銀河連邦警察 Ginga Renpō Keisatsu) who succeeded its veteran member Retsu Ichijouji as the current Gavan, referred as Space Sheriff Gavan Type-G (宇宙刑事ギャバンタイプG Uchū Keiji Gyaban Taipu Jī), shouting "Jōchaku" (蒸着, "Deposition") whenever he needs the Super Dimensional Highspeed Ship Dolgiran (超次元高速機ドルギラン Chō Jigen Kōsokuki Dorugiran) he is based on to encase him in Granium particles that form into his Gavan Type-G combat suit within .05 of a second (as reinforced in Space Squad). As the new Gavan, Geki battled the revived Space Mafia Makuu and defeated its masked leader Brighton who originally his best friend Toya Okuma. Soon after, Geki is redeployed to Earth to pursue Rhino Doubler, getting the Go-Busters' aid in defeating one of Makuu's remaining agents. Shelly (シェリー Sherī): Suzuka Morita (森田 涼花 Morita Suzuka) is Commander Qom's niece and Geki's assistant from Planet Bird, owning a visual illusion device allows her to use "Laser Vision," transforming into a budgerigar. While separated from Geki, Shelly meets the Go-Busters and becomes friends with Yoko.
