Tracks and Raoul are favorite Transformers ship because of the obvious contrast and subtle things they share.

For as much as Tracks is an "uptown girl" and Raoul is a "backstreet guy", both are loyal fighters and ready to stick up for the ones they care about. They're both smart and witty, trading good-natured banter as they argue. They love music, dance, and NYC culture. They show they care through their actions.

Plus, the inherent intimacy of being a human mechanic fixing up your alien robot lover that turns into a car.

flash fic: admiration

Contains Raoul/Tracks, no actual sex, alt-mode fondling, petplay (kinda...?), objectification (literal), slight hypnofuckery.

“Isn't he just a beauty?” Raoul rested his hand on the hood of Tracks’ alt-mode. “Just got him last night. He's really ‘more than meets the eye’, if you know what I mean.”

The gaggle of humans at the car show made appreciative noises.

“Incredible finish. That wax job must have taken ages.”

“Are those tires brand new?”

“Check out the wheels on this baby!”

Tracks sighed as the other humans petted and stroked his exterior. The feeling of their soft, organic hands was a bit ticklish on his sensornet. The sensation was enhanced by the substance he'd taken a few breems ago, a sort of hypnotic soporific to quiet the conscious processor. It left him feeling floaty, yet still tethered to his higher cognitive powers — if he wanted to, Tracks could easily reverse the effects with a simple program. But he didn't want to do that — no, he was content to bask in the affection. It made him all… mushy inside.

“He can do tricks, too. Can't you, Tracks?” Raoul's hand moved to Tracks’ sideview mirror, scratching behind it like one would scratch a dog behind the ear. “Show us your wings.”

Tracks obeyed readily, half-transforming to rotate his wings out from under his chassis. He flexed them once before folding them away.

“Wait, can it really fly?” someone asked.

“Sure can.” Raoul beamed. “Tracks here is one of a kind." More ooh-ing and ahh-ing ensued at the appearance of the wings. The sounds bounced around in Tracks’ audials, slowly merging with the rest of his senses until it all became a soft, hazy fuzz of sensory input.

He felt one of his doors being opened, and a warm body sliding into the driver's seat. Tracks shuddered; if he had been in root mode, his optics would have rolled back and flickered off. A passenger settled into the other side, filling him with a pleasant weight.

Tracks shivered again as he felt weight on his pedals and a firm hand on his gearshift. He distantly realized he'd never actually allowed anyone else to drive him, before. Surrendering his autonomy to Raoul just felt so… natural. It allowed him to simply exist, not as an Autobot, or a Cybertronian — just a car. Pleasure spread through his entire frame at thought, and he sank deeper.

He could feel the road on his tires, the rotation of his gears and axles. If he focused, Tracks could even pick up on each stroke of his internal pistons, and the unhurried spin of his spark just beyond it. His visual feed was blurry and ill-defined, just colors that blended into each other as Raoul drove him down the city streets. Time passed, but Tracks neither knew nor cared how much it was. He didn't know or care about anything, until he was brought out of his reverie by Raoul's knuckles on his hood.

“Hey, are you still in there? The car show's over.”

Tracks hummed, unable to give any more of an answer. The soft haze in his processor was too thick to fight, so he simply immersed himself back in it. The last thing he felt before slipping into recharge was Raoul's warm hand across his fender.

Fandom Throwback Thursday

What are some "old" fanworks you have lurking on hard drives, in abandoned LiveJournals, or have just generally forgotten about? Do you have ancient fics that have survived several site migrations, old sketches, pics of your first cosplay? If so, I wanna see 'em!

My bit of show 'n tell comes from 2010! My main fandom was Transformers.

While decluttering a media cabinet this week, I came across a Transformers (G1) Tracks/Raoul Fanmix I had put together and for which I made a CD label and jewel case insert. Judging by the dates on the file names when I found the originals on an old USB (I originally posted it to LiveJournal on 6/14/2010) I must have put them all together on my EeePC 701 SD netbook. It must have been excruciating working on that tiny screen, but all I can remember is how much fun I had picking songs and printing out the pictures to put in the jewel case.

Originally intended to try practicing *~*my own personal flair*~* of drawing Transformers, but realized that it was just causing me more stress than just drawing the pre-established G1 style and just drew some of my favorite pair--Tracks and Raoul.

And just largely sticking with the G1 look because, as I've thought more about it, riffing off of other signature styles like TFA, TFP, or Bayverse means that you're stuck with that specific characterization. Like, if I draw Prowl in the TFA, people are (justifiably) going to expect the TFA characterization. Most of my characterizations are based off of the G1, so it makes sense... But this is just the easiest styles for me to replicate and makes enough visual sense with my regular art style anyway.

Either way, Tracks and Raoul are always good.

messed around with my style a bit on this one. I actually used line art for once and tried to see if I could get a sorta retro look by just using default clip Studio tools, I think it kinda comes across.

this prob gonna be my only day, or days, I guess. I wish I had time to do more, but I was busy finishing comic pages at the beginning of the week, and I'm busy this weekend.

I have unfinished stuff for days 3, 5, and 6 that I might finish one day because i really like some the sketches i had, though if I'm being honest, those will probably just go into the large pile of unfinished art and sketches I have these 2.
