one tragedy of film and modern media is that it is so much easier to express fascist and/or reactionary ideas than the complex reality of the world we live in. its so so easy to mislead and engage emotionally with a picture. a picture can make you feel like the world is ending or that a fantasy is real. a movie can make you feel national pride to a fault.
books and writing communicate the underling ideas and complexity of a thousand types of perspectives in ways that are impossible to communicate visually. i guess what I'm trying to say...
a picture is worth 1/1000th of a word.
a picture is 1000 times easier to digest in the way a cigarette ad is easier to digest than an article on lung cancer. a flag feels like it's worth more than a man's arm, an old man's life or a woman's body.

Great popcorn movie. If the Nazi weltanschauung doesn't get you on the edge of your seat, then Riefenstahl's depiction of the Reich as an unstoppable inevitability will have you raising your arms (maybe just one) in capitulation. As a blueprint for agitprop, TOTW's tricks are still being used today. The visuals work. And, of course, work of this sort will set you free.

Fun fact: Michael Jackson's HIStory teaser was based off of Leni Riefensfahl's Nazi propaganda film, "Triumph of the Will."

Tbh? I don't like Paul. I don't want Paul. I understand that Paul serves an important narrative function and that Paul is the best possible ending for Camilla and Palamedes given their situation, personalities, and relationship. However what I really want is for Camilla and Palamedes to attend the ATN wedding as two individual humans and for Pal to be a lightweight who loses his tie in the garden fountain after three drinks and for Camilla to do exactly one shot with the group, keep Gideon from ripping the sleeves off her dress shirt, and absolutely kill it at lawn games during cocktail hour. Since this scenario is a wild tonal mismatch for the series and also Palamedes was already dead, this was unlikely to ever happen. However Paul is the final nail in the coffin for the theoretical existence of this scene and I can't help but resent them for that
