A (probably) multi-part rant at FFXIV's UI/UX

Fuck it, I wanted to do it for a very long time so may as well start doing it now while I wait in a queue.

FFXIV UI/UI is absolutely atrocious. It's not an understatemen, it's a fact. Whoever is in charge of it (manager) should be fired, preferably from the cannon.

As a former WoW player I simply can't help but compare the two, and it makes me so annoyed (and sometimes furious) that WoW, itself by far not the best example of UI/UX design, wins by a wide margin - both because it constantly gets updated, and because a lot of its faults can be compensated with mods.

And yes, I know that a lot of issues stem from FFXIV being twelve years old, built on a shit engine, and having a metric fucktonne of legacy noodles, and targeted to cross-platform between PC and PS3, but guess what, it's a multi-billion dollar company we're talking about, so all that is no excuse for this severe mismanagement. But then again, it's Square Enix we're talking about...

I'll be adding rants as reblogs when they come up and when I'm in the mood, but eventually it's gonna be a looooooooooooong chain, that I promise.
