I Think The Sharpes' China Is Diagetically Davenport Imari 2614 And Not Royal Crown Derby Imari 2451 And Here's Why

the earliest examples of the RCD pattern I've seen are early 1900s, though apparently they started making it in 1887. seems unlikely that the adult siblings could afford a new, large china set

but. look at what Davenport was doing as early as 1870:

It's the same. Pattern.

I know this pattern. I have spent a truly deranged amount of time staring at this pattern. I have a whole-ass tea set in this pattern approx. three yards from me in a glass-fronted cabinet at this very moment. and this is the exact same pattern, but being made (it seems to me) at least 17 years before RCD started doing it. oh, and Davenport closed its doors in 1887- the same year the RCD Imari 2451 apparently hit the market

the movie props are RCD, to be sure. I know this because I have one- a cup and saucer set from Cynthia Finlay's Antiques in Toronto, who rented the china out to the CPeak production team. but I believe that, in-story, it's actually the Davenport

i need people to start writing scientists as completely batshit. none of us are normal. the “uptight and logical and rational” stereotype is a facade

#i love my labs. no one is normal #everyone is nuts!!!! you think someone is super impressive and normal and then you’ll hit a topic and be blown away because they immediately #shift to the weirdest possible person you’ve ever seen. the most normal person ive seen is the entomology professor who was so pissed about #the reclassification of cockroaches that he will start yelling #my boss is a post doctorate. he’s so smart it’s nuts. i was told AT LENGTH about his cats’ grooming habits #one of my coworkers was tipsy and was showing us her beetle tattoo and then immediately pivoted to animal noises #‘yeah and then the tattoo artist made it simmetrical. i can make a noise like a dying seal want to hear’#we were playing jackbox and I got the prompt ‘my asshole is leaking’. i drew a butt plug. my boss and my entire lab was in the room #the p.i. of my other lab keeps emailing the entire lab memes #we’re normal people but in a strange way. we’re abnormal but not in the way people think about scientists #one of my coworkers was a music producer who made hundreds of thousands of dollars if not more but just. has a personal passion for #plant genetics. so he works in labs. but he’s a music producer #idk im just thinking about this bc of the party Friday

#talked to my credit union about pre-approval for an auto loan. im gonna frow up #tldr; i just started a new job after completely depleting my savings over the last couple months #and my fucking car has decided that NOW is the time it wants to begin its death throws after 17 years & 190k miles #so rather than wait for the engine to explode on the highway or something i'm spending money i don't have #(many thousands of dollars that i will need to borrow. specifically. 🤢)#to shell out for a newer & hopefully more reliable car before winter hits. and then i'm just gonna pray my new income can cover it!!!!!#on one hand i'm excited cuz it'll be the first car i've ever owned that wasn't a shitty hand-me-down with over 150k on it already #and i am absolutely drooooooling over the one i'm gonna test drive tomorrow #but on the other hand. it feels very precarious to take on this amount of debt right now and i'm FREAKING THE FUCK OUT.#i was worrying this morning tha ri was rushing into things and maybe it would be better to try to hold off for a couple months #but then i had to use my own car for work today instead of a fleet vehicle and the engine started displaying Silly Behaviors*#(*RPMs doing whatever they feel like randomly & a noticeable Clunk whenever i'd shift gears)#and since this thing has already cost like 1k in two emergency mechanic trips in the last two months #i feel justified in my decision to just take the L and hope nobody will look at it too closely when assessing its trade-in value 😔#ctxt #money talk cw

Me when I'm listening to the most stupidest story about my mom giving my brother $1500 for a down payment for a 2nd car while his in the shop for a deer hitting him and him losing the nonrefundable $1500 cause he drove 2 hours away to a scummy dealership and he didn't get approve for enough credit from the bank

#like... idk maybe cause I don't have a son but does anyone else have experience with a mom acting delulu for their son???#like... 1st she paid $17k for the brand new 2022 which he traded in behind her back so he can get a 'fast car'#he got in an accident in the fast car mom put the parts to repair on her credit cards #since now the fast car wasnt pretty any more with mixmatch parts he traded in that car for a lexus for payments #which is dumb cause the whole excuse on why he traded in the 2022 cause he didn't want payments #he hit a deer with the lexus and i guess he thought they was gonna total the car cause he was already looking for a new one #but they gonna fix the lexus but he still went to try to get that car...#and that lady just agreed to it...#he owes her thousands of dollars...#she keeps on saying 'oh well he got a new job making $17 an hour and plus he's working a part time he's gonna pay me back #he's been saying that since he traded the 2022 and he barely paid you anything...#like why are you enabling his impulse purchasing???#he thinks these cars are like toys or something and you just letting him use your cash and credit like that...#then she's like... it is rapidly becoming apparent that four working adults (one with THREE JOBS currently) still cannot afford rent and utilities in this tiny rinky dink house and i literally don't know what to do lol
