Of the Patuxent River Stone of Maryland, no..well here are some known in information:

The Patuxent River Stone is the

official State Gem of Maryland

Maryland designated Patuxent River

Stone as the official state gem in

2004. It is an underrated and underresearched stone that has a small following as of late.

Found mainly in MD, especially SO,

MD these stones have extraordinary

red and yellow-hues that reflect

MD's state flag. They are possibly a type of agate (a cryptocrystalline form of quartz), though many assume they are a type of Carnelian (also spelled cornelian); which is a brownish-red mineral commonly used as a semiprecious stone.  

Patuxent River Stones have a glowing translucence that make them perfect for cutting, polishing, andsetting into jewelry, they tend to have a harder grain similar to a granite or basaltic stone.

The lead researcher of this precious but underrepresented stone is Kenny Jameson, owner of the P And K rocks organization, he specificalizes in studying, tumbling and making jewelry of native MD rocks.
