reading some paper about empathy for school and i really do believe they've got it all wrong about autism. "Autustic people can't empathize" is complete bullshit. It's just that the distinctions in life experience and worldview are so different between autistic and allistic people that it's harder to bridge that gap. That said, I think autistic people empathize at least as well with allistic people as the other way around. I've seen posts where parents are like "I just don't get it.
