Thanks to the random OC wheel made by the lovely mademoisellekalopsia, I have been assigned @hiccupscloud-26's Indyko! I've really been enjoying the high-speed, super varied way that they write hiccups, but I'm not super confident in my ability to replicate it, so we'll see what we can do.

Content: Hiccups, slight discomfort, flirting, weight gain (mentioned, positive), arousal

That's, uh, *HNK* kinda obvious. *HMK-LP* I guess since *HERK* they're so loud mo–*HOUP* most of their energy is g–*UCK* goi–*HNK* go–*OLK* Oh j–*HEEK* jeez–*MNK! HNK! HULK! HAULK! HIC-ULK!*...*HUK* Phew. Okay. *HMNK* I was gonna sa–*AYK* that most of the–*URK* their energy was go–*HOLP* going into the no–*HIK*–oise, and I gu–*HULK* guess that's still tr---true, oof. But a li–*ICCUP* little's clearly go–*INGK* into ma–*ICK* making them fa---fast sometimes. *HMK-MMP*

"I'm, uh–*HUP* having some quiet–*ERK* ones now, though, and the–*ULK* they move my tum–*EEP* tummy a lot. I think I've, uh–*HUP* I've g-gained some we–*IK-ULK* weight since I sta–*HURK* started living w---with you. *HMK-LK!* I-in a go–*HOOK* good way. So when they're mo–*URK* more quiet my be–*ULK* belly pops out and–*HMK-LP* and I *HIULP* oh go–*HOK* oh je–*HIULK* fu–*HIUK* fuck, Call–*EEK* I thi–*HNK* think they–*HIULK* fuck–! *HNK! HLK! HNKLK! HEEK! HAULK! HUK-HUK-HUK–HMNK-LLLK!* Ohhhhhh...*HNK*

"Hff...*HUP* hfff...*HIUK* H'okay. That, uh *HMP* that didn't hu–*URK* hurt at all but–*HUKUP*–oof...but it w–*HUP* was a lot. *HNKLK-rrrrrrrp* Oop, uh...*hnk* 'scuze me. Guess I swall–*OUK* swallowed some ai---air there. *hmk*–mmmf. Th-the quiet ones kind–*UCK* kinda make my be–*HULP* belly move like waves are go---going through it. *HMK-mpp! HMP!* Th-the loud ones *HURK* it just kind–*ACK* kinda po–*HOP* pops out a bi–*ICCUP* bit. Whew. *HNK-lk*.

"You can, uh—*HUK* you can pro–*HOP* probably tell that I'm ge–*uuuuuuurk–UP–ulp!* 'scuse me, gett–*INGK* worn out. *HMK*–mmf. I don't thi–*ULK* think I'll cu–*HURP* cure them just yet, bu–*HUCKULP–HUK!* B-but I'll stop ta–*ULK* talking quite so mu–*HUCH*."

As the recording went on, most of it was just Indyko's loud hiccups, interspersed with groans, sighs, or mumbled exclamations. Very occasionally they would comment on something, such as "D-dunno if you he–*URK* heard that one. It thu–*HUMP* thumped in my che–*HUK-URK* chest really h---hard," or "*HMK! HLK! HNKLK! HRKUP! HULK! HIUK! HEEK-HEEK-HEEK-HIUK-HUK!* g-guh! *HIKOLK!* k-kuh! Huh...*HMP* Whew! Hahah–*HAULK* Those were so–*OLK* sooo fast!"

Eventually, Indy's hiccups started to wind down, slowing more and more until they petered out completely. It took a few minutes for them to notice that they weren't hiccuping anymore. "Huh. Guess they went as randomly as they came. Whoof. Just as well, I'm pretty tuckered out from all that. But, uh..." a smile was audible in their voice. "Totally worth it though. And when I see you later you'll be all 'how are you?' and I can say 'Oh man, I got a serious case of the hiccups today!' and you're gonna blush like crazy...ehehehee...I can't wait. Love you, Callie. See you soon."

Indyko wasn't sure what compelled them to listen to the recording after it was done, but they surprised themself with just how much they were blushing, as well as how...other parts of their body had started reacting. That could wait though. If they were going to take care of that, they'd like it if they got to do it with their girlfr—with their fiance instead. So they hit send, the audio file appearing between their texts with a headphones emoji, a winky face, and a bubbles emoji below it. And they grinned, thinking about the look on Calliope's face when she finally heard it.

He knows he's Lief's Uncle but I think due to their ages being so close he'd act and feel more like a big brother

Some personality and design notes plus bonus beneath the cut

Post Jade disappearance Branch becomes extra protective of Lief since he's promised Jade he'd take care of him when he was a baby and he takes those kind of promises seriously!

I think his personality would be a mix of canon and what I like to call his bitty B persona which allows him to be a bit more laid back, he's still p sarcastic but in a more charismatic and charming way rather than biting with his words. He does have a few paranoid and obsessive traits due to growing up in the woods with two people who are barely adults that are learning to live on their own and raise two kids plus again he also feels like he has to be Lief's caretaker.

Also while obsessive traits can manifest due to circumstances there is a hereditary aspect which I feel runs in their family.

Since Branch never got the chance to have his heart to heart with Floyd he never got Floyd's vest. Branch occasionally wears Floyd's old pink vest but his default is the puffy jacket JD had made for him in his signature color! His signature glasses have become goggles and he wears cargo shorts with matching fingerless gloves! Plus bitty B bangs!

This reminded me of an ai me and @spjs had where it was an if Lost Opportunity and Not the only one were the same au

So basically JD and Jade are actually Branch's parents, but due to being so young they told everyone Branch was their brother ( so only Jade, JD, and Rosiepuff know Branch is their kid)

Fast forward and now Jade has Lief's egg but is too afraid to say anything, she confides in Rosiepuff who ends up revealing the secret during the big fight at the start of TBT in an effort to keep them all from leaving. Bruce still leaves cuz that's not his problem and Floyd still leaves to start his solo career but Clay stays behind.

I'm p sure management of the band moved to Clay and they still had a few performances under a new name!

I think Clay still ends up at the hole n fun and because n2 au is in there Floyd does come back post grandma death to live with them! Thats as much as we got with the whole thing! Branch was still very protective of Lief and Lief even moreso of Branch cuz that's his big brother and no one is going to tell him otherwise

Quick question for the Touchstarved fandom!! As much as we love Ais calling us 'Sparrow,' I have to ask - if you had to decide, what other bird nickname do you think he would call you/your MC? :O

For example, Ais would my Unnamed MC Daniella 'bluebird,' while he'd call my Alchemist MC Edgar 'crow' (and another OC I'm planning, Shinju, 'woodpecker!')

Is Japanese a lingua franca in KHR universe?

KHR anime seems to make it a point to ignore the whole language thing, while in the manga the only one we are shown as speaking a different language is just I-Pin, even though there should definitely be more characters — did the whole Varia learn Japanese just in case?? In what case?!

Also Gokudera? Let me not even get started on him, although I will say this, why is his name Gokudera Hayato if he's supposed to be born and raised in italy and italian?

Likes to mess around with different edible recipes because he knows Rory prefers them to smoking. He always lets Rory taste test for him and he might be charging Rory a little less than he charges everyone else but no one has to know that.

I feel like that feeling of molting is entirely normal as you grow up, even if you experience a more extreme version of it. I totally understand and empathize though, as I've noticed a lot of systems and ego death experiencers do. I'm an amnesiac though (actually had it happen twice, once as a preteen and again in my mid teens). That sort of disconnect with your body and who you once were can be hard, unbelievably so, but from what I've noticed it kinda flows and ebbs. I don't think I've ever felt like the same person I was before, but I feel like there are times I'm more connected with the body I'm in and that the past is mine and other times I feel much less comfortable. I feel like over time though, the intensity of either tend to kind of mellow out to where you may feel more or less connected to your body but it becomes more comfortable. You've lived in it long enough that it feels more like you, in a sense anyway. Hopefully this helps in some sort of way, I suppose, even this ask is a little too rambly.

YEAH that's it this does articulate it pretty well .... I'm definitely very thankful I never had actual amnesia . But It feels like suddenly losing your muscle memory or something and having to get used to things again or like. grow back into your brain

This is more a general update as I reached a point in The Scarred Angel where I HAVE to tied up a few things before going further.... Truth of the last couple of months 🙄

The time for scenes and notes hapardazly written everywhere is OVER ! (Half joke and also LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL)

More seriously : I want to make sure I don't drop everything which will be a huge disappointment for several reasons.

I spent enough time already on TSA (summer 2023 since the first idea came up + about summer 2024 since actively working on it

The initial idea and characters still have reason to exist

Thing is :

It's the first time I work something this "complex" (?).... aka : I've done, I'm doing and I'll do again many "ERRORS" along the way. (Oh wait! Such goes life.....) I really need an OUTLINE at this point, even a gross one! I have an entire first arc of 6 zero draft chapters plus several others (the current wc is between 60000 and 70000 words) BUT most importantly : I feel the need of keep specific and steady angles to write MY story NOT someone's else. Those same angles that made me start in the first place. And apparently, rn, I have to dig and put them on my board to better keep an eye on it among the mass of infos, researches, things that need to happen, characters development, various other ideas .....+ all the interesting imputs I see around and along the way every day!

Additional note : my mother, that knows nothing about what I'm writing , just sent me a letter from Claudia Sheinbaum, actual mexican president, especially dedicated to "Mr DT" and "Mr EM" from "the rest of the world".

You can find the note on the internet and since a lot of TSA PLOT is about INFORMATION.....guess what? The letter slaps but we're not entirely sure she said so for real 😉

STILL .... it would be awesome if she did and since one of the main inspiration quotes for TSA is "everything happens for a reason", fuck yes, I'll take this as a sign too!

My heart skips another beat.

Phil feared it was too soon yet, that I might not be ready to handle the new environment.

Probably me stopping the meds didn't help him accepting my initiative but it hasn't be  a problem for my chief editor who doesn't know anything about me.

Rather the opposite way around, no way I could have missed how much they were happy about someone volunteering for the assignment.

I'm a newbie in this line of work, just two months since I toke the job, and they accepted nonetheless to send me to cover about the challenging task the local police department must face every day in this powder keg that is THE border.

No kidding.

There is always something going on here, endless supply material for many and many articles.

'Same old, same old' is what I heard at the office among other casual comments and still, keeping an 'attentive eye' upon the border situation it's considered a must, so that when something significant seems to come up they do actually send a 'soldier on the battlefield' in order to get first hand information.

I'm nowhere near close to have my own opinion on the matter but I basically threw myself on the opportunity.
