I counted all major characters plus characters who were in at least 10 episodes of each respective show (with a few exceptions for incredibly minor characters who are technically in more than ten episodes but have barely any/no lines). The Seraph died, torso armor and cockpit ravaged by PPC blasts and LB 10-X auto cannon rounds. Owen switched targets, raking a Deva with his ER Medium Lasers. The enemy mech responds with a Gauss rifle slug which slams into the left leg of Owen’s mech. He grunts with the neural feedback of the damage dealt. Quickly checking his armor, he was relieved to see that the round hadn’t penetrated the armor. 

“Atta girl, Katherine, gonna take more than that to take you out.” He grins at the chime indicating his ER PPCs are recharged. “My turn!”

The twin PPC bolts snap out with thunder cracks, blasting into the Deva’s right arm, tearing away armor and hopefully, damaging the Gauss Rifle there.

Seconds later, the arm explodes, the Gauss rifle evidently having been damaged enough to overload. The Deva staggers, allowing Anya to light the other mech up with her Clan Pulse Laser, and Clan Medium Lasers, green and blue beams cutting into its armor in multiple places. It swings, and fires its Light PPCs at the Thunderbolt, two missing and one blasting into Anya’s torso armor. Owen hears the small sharp intake of breath over the comms. It pays for this damage by catching a LB 10-X slug to the cockpit fired by Owen. The enemy mech shudders, and then slumps over into the side of a nearby building.

“You ok Major?” He asks.

“Yeah…fuck that hurt…” Anya replies. “But I’ve still got armor, I’m good.” She sounds tired.

“Christ we all are.” Owen thought. The fighting had been fierce, and nearly constant since they landed. The city, a small place named L’Anerie, had turned into a near constant running battle between Barghest Company and Fursona's Fusiliers, and the Word of Blake. The city was a maze of buildings just tall enough to obscure sight lines more than a few blocks, and it seemed like it was filled to the brim with enemy mechs, weapon emplacements and ambushes. They had lost several Fusiliers to Heavy Level II’s lying in wait, and several of his own mechs are badly mauled. Billy’s Archer is missing an arm and the LRM launcher in one side torso, and Vance’s Thug’s damaged leg is now almost locked up. Not to mention all of his mechs have had their armor savaged. And the ammo situation…

Owen sighed a bit. He always knew it would be a bad one. 

Still.

In the next street over, Victoria and Vance have brought down an Archangel with Kei providing large laser and missile fire. Victoria wrenches her mech’s hatchet from the enemy mech’s side, as well as pulling the retractable blade, and the arm attached to it, from her left torso armor.

“Ugh…don’t know how much longer we can do this, boss…” she says, over comms. “Got a hole in my left torso armor.”

“Yeah, Envy’s pretty banged up too.” Kei added. “Also I’m soooooooo hoooooooot….uuuuuuuugh….”

“Understood.” Owen replied, checking the mini map. The forest of red dots had been reduced significantly, leaving only several small pockets and one decent sized one left.

“We good to move forward, sir?” Maria asks, ever professional. Her Mad Cat had lost a good chunk of it’s armor, and was down top a quarter of its missile load, but still functional.

“Hell, I’m ready to pack it in, few more scraps like this and I got is a fucking pair of medium lasers left, might as well spit at em at that point” The gruff voice of Billy adds, ever the blunt one.

Owen considered, they were banged up, but still largely functional.

“Sir….I have found something” The soft voice of Elenor appears over the comms.

“Report Lt, what’ve you got?” Owen asks.

“Civilians, sir…a lot of them…” She replies.

Owen feels a familiar weight in his chest at what might come next. The Word was never kind to the civilian population of the worlds the conquered.

“…report status of the civilians, Lt.” He asks.

“… scared, sir.”

Owen lets out a sigh. Great…just great…

He pushes several buttons and keys up Savannah’s frequency.

“This is Garm 1 to Fursona, we’ve got a situation here. A civilian situation, over.”

A List of things that happened at Collision and ROH taping from this weekend.

First of all getting to be in the environment that has been created at the e-sports from this residency is phenomenal and I hope that it will happen again in the future.

Getting seats four rows back from the ring and we were still so close (that will change I'll explain) and getting to go with both my dad and cousin was so much fun

FINALLY getting to see Darby wrestle in person was amazing

The bull rope match was fucking brutal and the TV broadcast did not do it justice the crowd was so fucking over for Rosa it was awesome

So right in front of us about 30 minutes into the show there was a row of 8 seats that were empty right at the barricade and no one had shown up. So my cousin may have taken initiative and got up to the seats and by the Rush and Vance match we were all up front and no one said anything

My cousin saying to Turbo of the Outrunners that "he was like Hogan without the racism and an actual 10 incher" which Turbo totally popped for

Rush and Vance match was so much fun. Getting on tv for most of that match and me cackling like a psychopath made it loud and clear on the broadcast

Me screaming like a lunatic during swerves's match and afterward the cameraman came over to film me (thank God that didn't make the broadcast)

Swerve v Ishii was so fucking awesome

Getting to see HoB so close was so fucking awesome

My cousin continues his years long beef with Matt Taven and Taven shouting at him "you don't have a wiener"

The Von Erichs and Sammy came over to sign my little autograph book, Sammy was so nice and it was so nice to see the Von Erichs again since I met them last year

This was the next day continuing ROH tapings

Tony coming out to say that someone wanted to say hi to the kids and me fully believing that it was gonna be Mortos until Hologram came out

I love Lance Archer. The guy in front of us had a bunch of signs and one of them saying "The murderhawk just needs a hug" and Lance coming over like he was going to give a hug only to rip up the sign

Watching Ari get beat up by Ishii made my day

Cheering so loud for Rocky Romero and him noticing me and giving me a wink (can confirm I am dead)

8 man tag match between Sammy, Dustin, and the Von Erichs v Dark Order and Undisputed Kingdom, once again keeping up the beef and telling the dark order they can do so much better than undisputed kingdom

When Harley Cameron came out and I told my dad to "get his girl"

Queen Aminata is one of the best female wrestlers right now I genuinely love her so much she is so cool

The Righteous reminding me in person that Vincent looks almost exactly like a friend of mine but with dreads

Taya v Mina was fun

Watching the Premiere Athletes at least 8 times over the course of 48 hours and continuing to make sure that we have beef

Also after the match my cousin and I were booing Tony Neese and he tried to get security to kick us out and my cousin blew Tony a kiss

Getting to see Briscoe wrestle this close was so cool and Mortos is so fucking over I love it.

And that concludes my weekend I will make another post like this next week cause I am going back to collision for the final show. This was the most fun I have had all year and something that I really hope AEW does again in the future

And more to the point, no matter how challenging things get, they hang on to hope and friendship, and it's what makes all the difference. It really is all about your state of mind, and at the end of the day, you've just got to say it's all right.

This nautical song never fails to make me thing of Guybrush! Sure, by the time he meets Link and Graham, he knows his way around a ship much better than this song would suggest, 1) it hearkens to his background, and 2) the outlook of the song is still spot on - Guybrush will fake his way through anything with a winning smile, a well-developed snark, and choosing confidence.

"Ninja Archer" by Luke Cyrus

I mean, how do you think Graham likes to imagine himself when he's walking through the forest, dodging all the tricky tricks? Under a canopy of bubblegum trees (pink?) no less! Sounds like Daventry to me. And he wonders if he'll be the leader who'll protect the villagers... Yep. I'll take it.

They're an unconventional three, for sure. Mavericks and goofs, living like their renegades even though all of them are successes in their own lands. And the undercurrent of friendship in this song made it a sure bet.

Harren the Black had driven thousands to their deaths in the building of his great castle of Harrenhal, plundering the Riverlands for materials and beggaring lords and smallfolk alike with his appetite for gold. So now the Riverlands rose against him, led by Lord Edmyn Tully of Riverrun. Summoned to the defense of Harrenhal, Tully declared for House Targaryen instead, raised the dragon banner over his castle, and rode forth with his knights and archers to join his strength to Aegon’s. His defiance gave heart to the other Riverlords. One by one, the lords of the Trident renounced Harren and declared for Aegon the Dragon. Blackwoods, Mallisters, Vances, Brackens, Pipers, Freys, Strongs … summoning their levies, they descended on Harrenhal.

✶ You step through the heavy iron gates of Blackstone Penitentiary, the chill of the early morning air mixing with the palpable tension enveloping the prison. You’ve always imagined this moment as a mix of excitement and dread, but you try to quash the nervous fluttering in your stomach. the fact that it’s the day they’re bringing in the infamous hitman, Vance "The Shadow" Dante, adds to the pressure.

“Y/n!” A familiar voice cuts through your racing thoughts. It’s Samuel, one of the first guards you met during your training. He raises a hand, waving enthusiastically as he shuffles toward you, his uniform slightly askew. “Ready for your big day?”

You smile, grateful for the camaraderie he offers. “I guess as ready as I’ll ever be. Just trying not to think too much about it.”

“Hey, don’t sweat it; just remember what the Warden said. Keep your head, and you’ll be fine.” Samuel’s reassurance does little to ease your nerves, but you appreciate the attempt.

As you walk through the sterile, white-walled halls lined with barred cells, the atmosphere shifts. It’s tense yet strangely hushed; the remnants of an unsettling quiet settle in your heart. You can feel the weight of the prison around you, the echoing footsteps of other guards contained with urgent whispers. Samuel is talking animatedly beside you, but your focus drifts, zoning in and out of the conversation, nodding absent-mindedly.

“—and then, when they caught him, the whole city went crazy! I mean, it’s not every day that a hitman of his caliber gets locked up, right? 'The Shadow', for Pete’s sake!” Samuel’s excitement ignites a flicker of curiosity within you. “Let’s just hope he doesn't try to charm his way out on day one. He has this whole ‘cool-guy’ vibe that drives everyone crazy.”

“Archer Dox,” you mutter, echoing the name of your Warden and the chilling authority that looms over everyone in this prison. His reputation as a cold, unyielding man precedes him, and you can only hope to navigate this day without drawing his ire.

As you reach the intake area, an air of anticipation fills the space. Guards and personnel bustle around, and in the middle of it all, you spot him: Vance Dante. He’s standing in the middle of it all, hands in handcuffs, a faint smirk gracing his lips. He looks utterly undisturbed by the chaos swirling around him, as if he is simply taking a stroll in the park.

“Looks like we’re not the only ones who are curious about our new guest,” Samuel whispers, nudging your side. There’s a blend of awe and contempt in the way he watches Dante, a fascination simmering just beneath the surface.

You step closer, your eyes narrowing at the man who has taken the city’s underbelly by storm. But in this moment, you feel more than the electric charge of danger; you feel an irking seriousness, a silent stare among staff wondering how the notorious killer will fare within these cold walls.

Dante, unaffected by the wary attention, finally catches your gaze. His blue eyes glint with a playful mischief. An almost magnetic pull lingers in the air as a wry smile stretches across his face, framed by dark hair that falls effortlessly over his brow. “Well, hello there. What do we have here? A fresh recruit?”

You raise an eyebrow, stiffening slightly at his words. “That’s not exactly an admission ticket,” you retort, trying to maintain your composure in front of the armed guards nearby.

“Ouch! No need to be so harsh, officer.” His tone is teasing, and you find yourself annoyed at his antics, he can't manipulate you into allowing him to run free. “Just curious if you’re as tough as I thought you'd be.”

“From what I’ve heard, you’re the one with a reputation for being slippery,” you shoot back. A moment of silence passes, and you can sense Samuel’s amused glance at your banter with a dangerous murderer.

“Slippery, sure,” Dante says with a chuckle. “But you—you're a whole new level of interesting. Feisty, aren’t you?” His gaze rests on you, and even with the iron gates that separate you and him, there's a gleam in his eyes that you can't quite decipher.

Before you can reply, Archer Dox, the warden of your prison, steps into the room, his presence immediately silencing any banter. His cold, piercing green eyes sweep over Dante before locking onto you. “Keep your distance, Officer y/n,” he barks. “This is no playground.”

You nod, eyebrows twisting in understanding as Dante glances at Dox with a hint of amusement, as if somehow finding your warden's worry amusing. Another layer of games unfolds before you, a power play in a world ruled by shadows and escape plans.

You stand at the edge of the room, staring at the cell of one of the most notorious hitmen ever, you'll be sure to keep an eye on him.

Collison 4/11/23

Happy 69

Collison opens with a montage of promos. When it came to Swerve Strickland, he cut off by AR Fox who attacked him. The brawl spilled out to the arena during the opening pyro. Swerve got the win, thus carrying his momentum heading into his match with Adam Page. The post-match had all the main event players coming out for a brawl.

This would be one of tree singles matches as the rest featured multi-man competition, which was not a bad thing in hindsight as it opened up the spotlight to showcase wrestlers that have fallen into the abyss.

The Kingdom won a squash match against James McGregor and Brixton Nash. I don’t recall seeing Matt Taven or Mike Bennett being featured outside ROH, so this was good to see. I was kind of hoping that Taven would incorporate the giraffe into his gear because I think it would be hilarious. Roderick Strong did a post-match knee and imminently milked his neck again. It’s good to see this team do something rather then just be relegated to promos.

Lance Archer returned with Jake ''The Snake'' Roberts to take on Darby Allin. Allin was ragged dolled a lot. He took a choke slam followed by another choke slam on the outside edge of the ring. Allin prevailed with a Destroyer off the top rope to win. Jake Robert’s announces that he has brought in The Righteous. This looks like set up for Darby, String and Adam Copeland vs. Lance and The Righteous. Archer will fit in nicely with The Righteous, but I'm not sure if it's long term.

Skye Blue and Kris Statlander still have friction between them as Blue explains to Statlander she misted Julia Hart only for Willow because they're friends. This looks to be leading to Blue vs. Statlander with Willow stuck in the middle (maybe a triple threat?). Willow also picked up a win over Emi Sakura in a decent match up. Willow needed this victory as she hasn't picked up a win in quite a while.

We got a surprise appearance from Kip Sabian who teamed with The Workhorsemen to face off against Mark Briscoe/Dusty Rhodes/Keith Lee. This was a short but fun match. I’m glad that Kip and Lee got TV time. Kip is so good and deserves more time on Collison going forward. Lee will also get a match on Dynamite against Samoa Joe with Briscoe challenging Jay White for his spot at Full Gear. I'm glad to see the gears turning in the right direction here.

The Acclaimed celebrated 69 days as AEW Trios Champions. The chemistry between all three were on display and it was an amusing segment until Dalton Castle and The Boys came to the ring. I often chastise WWE for doing this, so I’m going to chastise AEW here. I hate it when wrestlers make the matches on the spot. Doing so in kayfabe makes the company look unprofessional and lazy for not planning out TV time. The match wasn’t half bad though. The segment also featured MJF admitting that he liked The Acclaimed and sees Max Caster as a friend, so expect more team ups.

The main event was FTR/LFI (Preston Vance & Rush with Jose the Assistant & Dralistico) vs. Big Bill & Ricky Starks and Gates of Agony (Bishop Kaun & Toa Liona). I just don't care for Kaun and Liona because I don't know anything about them. Who are they? What are they fighting for? I would have preferred Dralistico over Vance in this match. Post match had The House of Black attacked FTR, with Claudio and Yuta making the save.

This Collision featured talent we haven't seen in a while. And I'm glad the fall out is spilling into Dynamite. I hope this is not a case of showing certain talent, then tossing them away for months. This seems to be a problem with AEW. Look at the Miro/CJ Perry storyline. One moment they are both featured heavily, and now they just Perry only gets a mention and Miro gets a quick cameo. I hope Dynamite delivers with story progression.
