Caption: PONGO TANGLED HIS LEASH AROUND HIS PETS, ROGER AND ANITA.
Booklet Description:
Picture 1. My name is Pongo. I'm a Dalmatian coach dog who lives in London. My pet, Roger, is a musician of sorts. He was a bachelor until one day in the park, I tangled my leash around the loveliest girl in London and caused her and Roger to fall into the lake. They got married soon after that and I wed Anita's little Dalmatian, Perdita.
It wasn't long until Perdita announced that she was having puppies. We were both delighted although I was a little nervous. "But after all, dear, dogs were having puppies long before our time," Perdita yipped happily.

Today’s View-Master post is of a 1950s model C, but this one has a clip-on plug-in light. I’ve seen a battery-powered light pack for this model once but never the AC version.

Gothic View-Master Treasures
While puttering about in the dark recesses of the World Hive Mind, I made a delightful discovery: View-Master, the stereoscopic viewer toy, made visits to the sets of both The Addams Family and The Munsters back in the 1960's, so we get additional color photos from these otherwise black & white shows. Better yet, if you happen to be burdened with an over abundance of cash, you can purchase both of these reel sets via ebay. The Addams ones will set you back about $200 and The Munsters ones will cost about $100. Way out of my discretionary budget, sad to say.
This got me to thinking what other treasures View-Master might have been hiding from me during my dark childhood, and yes, there were more hidden gems, such as:
As well as others, but I'll leave those to you to discover on your own. The folks at View-Master used to send photographers to all sorts of TV and film sets back in the day to capture amazing 3-D images. Sales vs costs must not have been simpatico since they stopped doing it.
And one last revelation: you can buy a classic View-Master IN BLACK! That's right, they used to make them from heavy bakelite in cool black instead of the dorky red ones that were around when I was a kid.
There are even modern versions in black available via sites like Amazon.
Again, snagging the vintage black View-Master along with vintage gothy reels via ebay will set you back a bit, but hey, if I could afford it, I'd be looking at full color, 3-D Morticia Addams pics right now instead of writing this blog, that's for damn sure!
