Chocolate Malt Pie from Farm Journal's Complete Pie Book 1965

This one is incredible! Chocolate, marshmallow, vanilla and malt. Perfection.

I elected to use a store bought shortbread crust, which paired perfectly.

I doubled the whipped cream with extra vanilla and malt, put half in the pie per the recipe and used the rest as topping.

The extra whip really balances out the richness of the chocolate.

10/10 would make again, all of the pies I have tried in this cookbook have been excellent.

Alaskan sourdough starter batch two! This was our carryover starter from last week’s vintage Alaskan Sourdough pancake recipe. This week, we let it rise for 24 hours in the greenhouse where it was a cozy 78 degrees. Vintage peaches, peaches!

A Del Monte ad stating their peaches are "incidentally the best-liked peaches in the whole wide world".

The 50s practicality: the two main ingredients on the baked ham recipe are canned and pre-prepared..

The sugar.

As for the spiced peaches, they don't state which type of vinegar to use. I'd probably use apple cider, since it's sweeter.
