"Moment of Truth" es el quinto álbum de estudio del dúo de la East Coast Gang Starr, conformado por el legendario DJ Premier nacido en Houston, Texas y la leyenda del Jazz Rap Guru “Gifted Unlimited Rhymes Universal” de Roxbury, Massachusetts pero ambos con orígenes en el rap de New York, el álbum fue lanzado hoy 31 de marzo de 1998 bajo el sello discográfico Noo Trybe Records, subetiqueta de Virgin Records. Fue considerado uno de los mejores álbumes de rap de la época y es ampliamente reconocido como uno de los álbumes más importantes en la historia del hip hop.

El álbum cuenta con la producción de DJ Premier, quien es conocido por sus intrincados arreglos de samples y beats innovadores. Las letras, escritas y rapeadas por el fallecido MC Guru, se centran en temas de la vida callejera, la lucha por la supervivencia y la importancia de mantenerse fiel a uno mismo.El álbum incluye canciones emblemáticas como "You Know My Steez", "The Militia", "Above The Clouds" o "Moment of Truth", todas las cuales se convirtieron en éxitos de la radio y son consideradas clásicos del hip hop.

En 1998, el rap de la costa este de los Estados Unidos estaba en una fase de evolución. A mediados de los años 90, la costa este había dominado el panorama del hip-hop con artistas y grupos como Jay-Z, DMX, Big Pun, The Lox, Mobb Deep, Canibus, Black Star, The Fugees, Wu-Tang Clan, Nas, entre otros comerciales y de la escena Underground, además, de las recientes muertes de los raperos 2Pac y Notorious B.I.G. donde el hip-hop vivio una ruptura y empezó a buscar nuevas formas de expresión.

El hip-hop de la costa este en este período se caracterizó por un enfoque más oscuro y agresivo en las letras, con beats duros y ritmos lentos tipo Boom Bap.

El álbum "Vol. 2... Hard Knock Life" de Jay-Z, lanzado en 1998, fue un gran éxito en la costa este y en todo el mundo, y se convirtió en uno de los álbumes de hip-hop más vendidos de la década. Otros álbumes notables de la costa este de 1998 incluyen "It's Dark and Hell is Hot" de DMX, "Capital Punishment" de Big Pun y "The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill" de Lauryn Hill, que fusionaba el rap con el soul y el R&B.

This theme tune is based on the track "White Eagle" from the 1982 album of the same name by Tangerine Dream. . On the B-Side of this single is the track "Katja". Not as strong as the title track but also this shorter track has something… . You don't have to like or have seen the thriller, the title tune stands for itself. PIC(S) INFO: Spotlight on my favorite Pumpkins album of all time, and it's all B-sides and outtakes, strangely enough -- Pisces Iscariot is a compilation album by American alternative rock band the SMASHING PUMPKINS, released in October 1994 under the Virgin Records label.

True story, this is my only Pumpkins album on hard copy, so, you can probably imagine how often I listen to it on the regular, and that's pretty much how it became my favorite album of theirs, even though, like I've already stated, it's technically not really an album, but instead a compilation of "throw-away" tracks.

Shyheim aka The Rugged Child es un rapero estadounidense nacido en 1979 en Staten Island, Nueva York. Comenzó su carrera en la música a una edad temprana, cuando fue descubierto por miembros del legendario Wu-Tang Clan. En 1994, a la edad de 14 años, Shyheim lanzó su primer álbum, "A.K.A. The Rugged Child", que fue producido en gran parte por RNS aka Arby Quinn. El álbum A.K.A. The Rugged Child fue lanzado hoy 19 de abril de 1994 y fue producido casi en su totalidad por RNS, menos la canción Little Rascals - que fue producida por Prince Rakeem mas conocido como RZA, el álbum fue muy bien recibido por la crítica y contó con colaboraciones de artistas como June Luva, Kia Jeffries, Down Low Recka, Pop Da Brown Hornet, Rubbabandz, June Luva, Kwazi & Prophet. La música de Shyheim se caracteriza por su estilo agresivo y líricas de la calle y la violencia en Staten Island.

RNS Influyente productor de rap de Staten Island que trabajó con el grupo de rap UMC'S años antes de prestar su Ensoniq EPS a RZA, lo que resultó en el primer álbum de Wu-Tang Clan. Permaneció conectado con el colectivo de Wu-Tang a través del trabajo de producción estudio mixto para Gravediggaz, GP Wu y más directamente con Shyheim.

Además de Shyheim y RNS, Wu-Tang Clan logro expandir sus artistas afiliados a la familia durante el auge del grupo en la década de 1990. [Rain Tree Crow] [Rain Tree Crow] [CD] [1991] 7 years after the separation of the band "Japan" all four musicians found together again under the name "Rain Tree Crow". The result is a masterpiece of music history that can hardly be put into words. Mick Karn, Richard Barbierie, Steve Jansen and David Sylvian shine on their instruments and harmonize so well that it almost hurts. . The individual tracks also hurt, because they are achingly beautiful. Stylistically the music moves away a bit from "Japan" and instead goes more in the direction of David Sylvian's early solo works. Partly jazzy, partly very melancholic, partly gloomy ambient sounds, always exciting and full of surprises and yet comfortably familiar. An unusual masterful mixture of jazz, progrock, artpop and ambient. Those who loved "Japan" sparingly and appreciate the solo works of the individual band members will love this album beyond all measure. Gotta love Tubular Bells, the 1971 album-length instrumental by Mike Oldfield. A teenaged musical genius, this was his debut album, released by a small independent record store that wanted to start a label: Virgin Records. That first release sold more than 16 million copies, so there’s no Richard Branson without the insane runaway success of Tubular Bells. Adding to its pop culture luster is the fact that the opening segment became the theme to 1973’s The Exorcist, which surely helped sell more copies over the decades.
