#naruto #uchiha itachi #chapter 384 #of course the point of all this spectacle in the manga is to have like. good visuals.#but if we'd like to think abt his motivations on a character level it really makes you wonder abt how much he was overcompensating to try #and convince sasuke of his motivation #the genjutsu vision of his parents dying the throne the eye stealing threats etc #its makes him look extremely obsessed with sasuke never learning the 'truth' of him actually loving sasuke #and it's like man you didn't need to go that far.#it was actually pretty easy to take you for a bad guy.#sorry that my conclusion is just 'man you didn't have to do all that' i feel like we came to that conclusion already #well i enjoy it :) thanks for the spectacle kishimoto

I think the Snow White backlash is genuinely concerning in a few different ways, but also Disney has been churning out mostly lackluster live-action/CGI remakes for about ten years now and depending on familiarity/nostalgia to sell them. The returns were going to diminish.

#also while I am sure there are diehard fans of the original animated movie #I get the impression that it’s more known through pop culture osmosis than a lot of well-known Disney movies #the more ballad-y songs are done in a style that’s not very accessible to modern audiences #like even compared to something even slightly more recent like Cinderella #and it has a very basic story/characters #because they’re not really the point of the movie #the point is the visual and technical spectacle #and you can’t replicate that part of its appeal with one in a long line of blah-looking cgi-heavy movies
