alright, i give up

I need help changing the toilet seat in my current apartment because i have NO clue how to at this point

This is the setup+Underside+Hinges the seat itself (no cover-rip) is on

Unscrewing the....above screwy bits only reveals that they lead straight into the wall so they are there to hold the toilet itself only The seat hinges are unmoveable and have some cover on it so the seat closes softly Pulling on the seat does literally nothing

Whatthefuck do I do and is there any at least cover I could conceivably put on there or can I only live like this until I call the company owning the apartment for help either this live or shortly before I move whenever again to fix this up? I'd prefer just changing this myself but we only had bolted down seats in our old places and there aren't any bolts or screws in the usual places here (:

The Forest Retreat

For hiding away from the bullshit of reality

This is another "challenge" build that was sent to me by a friend. I fell in love with the AI image and immediately HAD to build it in Sims!!

This one really was a challenge, as of course AI creates these houses without a sense of the reality of how many actual floors there are in a building... it seems to like magical half level floors, lol.

Here is the Challenge Image:

And Here is what I created in Sims 4

A 3 level cottage in the forest, with main floor entertainment area, powder room and laundry room, first floor open concept kitchen/dining/living room with walk out balcony over the garden, second floor bedroom and master bathroom.... with a ceiling hatch to the attic for storage space! I used Cordelia's Secret Cottage Lot in Henford on Bagley.

【後期��・コルビュジエとその弟子たちゼミ】6月活動報告②

こんにちは！ 後期ル・コルビュジエとその弟子たちゼミM2の青木です。

先日＜B.V.Doshi による「Aranya Low Cost Housing Project」(1989)の計画理念と設計原理について学ぶ＞というテーマで、第四回目のゼミを行いました。 ドーシの来歴についてさらったのち、ドーシが行っていた旧市街地とその周辺の田園地帯の調査について、そして「Aranya Low Cost Housing Project」(1989)の概要や計画理念に関して、文献調査をまとめたスライドを用いてゼミ員が発表を行い、その内容に対して参加者で議論を行いました。

添付写真のように、ドーシが1970年代後半に行っていた、アーメダバード旧市街地とその周辺の田園地帯における住宅・建築物の調査に関する議論においては、ドーシによる調査と、1960年代に日本で明治大学神代研究室や法政大学宮脇ゼミナールらが行っていた「デザインサーヴェイ」に類似性が感じられるとの指摘がありました。また文献調査を通して、都市と農村の調査やスラム居住地の調査から抽出した街区のパターンを、「Aranya Low Cost Housing Project」(1989) の計画に反映していることなどが見えてきました。そしてこの計画では、インドの伝統的な文化背景を意識しプロトタイプを開発していたことがわかり、近代主義の中にインドの土着的伝統を反映させようとする探求を強く感じました。

今後は、今回のゼミで行ったようなドーシがインドに戻ったのちの活動に関する文献調査と、吉阪隆正の在仏日記におけるドーシとの対話やドーシに関する記述内容の分析を交互に行っていきながら、弟子たちの共通性や相違点を見出していきたいと思います！

Text description provided by the architects. The New York Apartment´s project, located in the city of São Paulo – Brazil, is the result of a creative process that took into account important conditions. The family, consisting of a couple and two young daughters, before moving to this apartment, lived in the Netherlands for 8 years. Thus, constant references to Dutch culture and design permeated the composition process, so that the family would continue to identify with its own home. In addition, we considered the specific logistics of the four residents’ routine, categorizing the spaces according to the real needs of each one. Exclusive suites, one office and a playroom arose because of that.

The formal and chromatic composition brought together areas with the same use, generating four programmatic boxes, within the single space with double height ceiling. This concept can be seen in the schemes that follow this memorial. The first box consists of the entrance hall and access to the toilet. The ruby color highlights this space that works as a break between inside and outside the apartment. In front of the elevator, we exposed the couple’s collection of Dutch miniatures, so that right at the entrance, there is a connection with the family’s affective memory. The second box consists of the table that separates the kitchen from the living room, a large piece of furniture that received tensoflex as a lighting device that simulates the sunrise and sunset light, through the dimming of the LEDs. Through this warm and changeable light, we managed to change the atmosphere of the apartment’s integrated and single space.

The third box is the mezzanine that houses the office and the fourth box is the bookcase of the playroom. The materials follow the same color palette. The use of light wood tones was the artifice that brought us closer to the initial references.

The furniture was brought from the Netherlands, with some pieces developed by FCstudio, which also designed the joinery. The design of the New York Apartment translated the family’s emotional desires into interior design, at the same time considering its necessary and particular functionality.
