being a vocal synth fan means at one point you will find a song, original or cover, that'll make you feel emotions and blow you away, a song that you would want to loop over and over again. everything's perfect, from the tuning of the singer used and how well they fit the song to the song itself. and then you check the view count and its like 4000.
Two days left to vote Glenn Close for Sexiest Podcast Character and we’re currently at 47%!!
Beating a powerhouse of a podcast like WTNV certainly isn’t an easy task, but with your vote you can turn the tide and get this man the title he deserves!
I’m in the ranks of bribery encouragement to vote propaganda art. If you vote on this post for Glenn Close and send proof of voting to my inbox, I’ll give you a quick sketch like these ones!!!
All requests will be done regardless if he wins or not. Media I’m familiar with is in the tags below and OCs are okay as well!
when needtobreathe said, “I don’t need another love to make me feel okay, I just need a lot of time and a little space,” and when they said “I wanna be well, I wish I could change. There’s nowhere to hide where you feel safe at the bottom of a heartbreak,” and when they said, “it’s a different ghost but it haunts the same,” and when they said, “I can’t move on, no looking back. I gotta learn to love right where I’m at,” and when they said, “sometimes we’re so high that we cannot feel when there is love all around”
maybe i’m just too old and tired of lame extremists who want to make the world burn to prove a point on how they’re holier than everybody else and actually don’t get anything done, but the “both sides are the same” discourse really irks me and rubs me in the worst way possible. especially when you have gained such a wide platform from which you could do a lot of good, and even more so when you’re part of communities that are at the highest levels of risk if one specific party wins. both parties are NOT the same, and to say that is just… it’s just incendiary, and irresponsible and outright stupid.
I VASTLY prefer "All Go Together" as an electric live version (in fact, I prefer it to the studio version!!), but when I heard Mark's fucking falsetto adding to Tony's high harmony I was like 'HOLY FUCKING SHIT, THAT'S MARK!?'. Their combined high harmonies are fucking AMAZING! Now if only Bruce had been able to add an even lower harmony part, below Stuart's... I think he could've done it, with some practice, and then they could've been like the Mamas & the Papas (VOCALS-WISE, not gender-wise; I am absolutely not intending to emasculate anybody here).
tried to watch one (1) episode of utena and ended up on an hour-and-a-half journey of saving sheet music for absolute destiny apocalypse (stairs song), getting the key of the song from my partner, learning how naturals work, relearning how to sight read sheet music, finding a virtual piano (I cannot play piano) to figure out harmonies in the soprano line, attempting to pronounce japanese and also sing the obscenely fast tongue twister last thirty seconds
anyway I eventually got through the episode and also have fun with adhd,,
merfolk tend to favor specifically complex sounds in their music, alongside sharp contrast between different sounds and fairly "extreme" versions of sounds. exceedingly high pitched as well as low pitched sounds are also both exciting to them. repeating patterns are also lovely, as well as repeating patterns with minor variations that their brains can track easier than ours, as well as overlaying rhythms.
because of this, a significant portion of merfolk music sounds like the most earwormingest versions of Textured Music possible. it all tends to sound either unearthly and like literally nothing else, or going hard as hell at full throttle with very few other options for gentler stuff to ease landfolk into.
merfolk music history progresses unusually fast and its a common hobby to "remix" or reshuffle other songs into their songs or otherwise twist and play with the music until it spawns countless new music, so they dont really have a "beethoven" or "orchestral music" like how we have to introduce someone entirely new to our music. you would have to go back so far to get relatively simple music that its just no longer relevant to them. and also maybe less in their stone age and more in their pre-society evolutionary history as well.
this also means that it is a blessing that miranda has yet to introduce liam to merfolk music yet because the sheer unfettered variety would mean that liam would never be the same again. its just TOO indie and TOO underground for his blood.
