Disney CEO Bob Iger is due to step down from his position for a second time at the end of 2026 and plans are already in place to find his replacement. Disney‘s board has named director James Gorman, executive chairman of Morgan Stanley, as chair of its succession planning committee to identify a CEO replacement to take over the reins from Bob Iger. Gorman, who joined the Disney board earlier this year, oversaw the recent succession process at Morgan Stanley, where he had previously served as the firm’s CEO. As per the committee’s March 2024 letter to shareholders, the committee and the full board are “reviewing internal candidates and external candidates.” Current Disney employees Dana Walden, Alan Bergman, Jimmy Pitaro and Josh D’Amaro are all understood to be undergoing mentorship and internal training with a view to be considered for the role by the Disney succession planning committee.

Menos uma conta para administrar! A Walt Disney Company confirmou que o serviço de streaming Star+ será integrado ao Disney+ na América Latina. A fusão de streamings deve acontecer no segundo trimestre de 2024, quando todo o catálogo do Star+ for incluso nos conteúdos oferecidos no Disney+.

A partir do ano que vem, a plataforma segue a medida de padrão global, já que nos Estados Unidos, a fusão de plataformas já está começando. A partir deste mês, o Disney+ começa as fases de testes da integração do Hulu a plataforma infantil, oferendos um único acesso ao conteúdos da companhia.

Em nota, a Disney revela que espera aumentar a força da marca.

“Esta integração permitirá que a força inigualável de nossos conteúdos esteja disponível em um só aplicativo, proporcionando uma experiência melhorada e superior, além de um acesso simplificado aos assinantes, que estão sempre no centro de nossas estratégias”, disse Diego Lerner, Presidente da The Walt Disney Company Latin America.

Com a união dos dois serviços, os assinantes poderão encontrar em uma só plataformas filmes e séries de selos como Searchlight, 20th Century Studios, FX, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars e National Geographic, além das programações de esporte e ao vivo da ESPN.

Até o momento, não foram revelados os possíveis novos valores de assinatura ou quando essa integração irá começar.
