I've been in a serious adulting and holiday prep pattern this week and haven't been able to be here much, so I'm behind on a lot of your content and missed this really cool event. But will that stop me from participating? Not one bit! I finally have a moment to chill, so here we go!

GUYS:

1) DORIAN HAVILLIARD👑: NO ONE IS SURPRISED BUTTTT truly love him so much, no notes at all✨Hot, sweet, kind, respectful?? Amazing character journey??? Served “I’ll bleed whatever color you tell me” AND “you cannot pick and choose what parts of her to love”??? Impossible not to love him

2) Rowan👑: Another angel who just wants to love, respect, and protect his wife✨ his sense of humor is so underrated and he’s just overall a generally good/fun guy

3) Fenrys: I’m actually SO sad we don’t get more of him because he steals every scene he’s in. He’s so charming and fun despite everything he’s been through and his friendship with Aelin has my heart. Also love a sassy man🔥😩

4) Chaol: Hot take perhaps but I love him and his character arc so much. One of the most realistic SJM characters overall and more than any other he just has such a kind heart and genuinely wants to do the right thing and protect those he cares about. Also underrated hottie, smooth AF when he wants to be THERE I said it🔥

5) Azriel: We have so little of him but I love him so much already😭 will probably be higher after his book, I just already love how he’s such a perfect balance of mysterious/hot and gentle/kind. he’s also SOOOO funny??? like one of the funniest ACOTAR characters by FAR

6) Rhysand: Maybe controversial because I feel like most people either love him like #1 style or hate him completely but I think Rhys is SOOO complex and one of SJM’s most interesting characters. He’s been through more than almost any other character and I think if he was perfect after that he wouldn’t be realistic, so even despite his flaws I love him and want the best for this silly sassy fairy boy✨

7) Lorcan: I have my moments with this guy but I do love him😩 he can be a little bit too broody at times but he has others to remind him to cut the nonsense so✨he definitely gets extra points for changing his name to Lord Lorcan Lochan (even though I know Fenrys and Aelin never let him live that down) and just generally loving his wife

8) Lucien: I LOVE my sassy fire boy😩🔥 Book 1 Lucien would be higher but he’s gone missing since then🤧 still love him though and hope we get to see more of his charisma in future books because he’s so fun and deserves a happy ending

9) Sartaq: SOOOO underrated and for why??? Him and Nesryn are SO adorable and he’s just so cool??? Super smart, funny, kind and just a great leader??? literally told the girl he likes “marry me and be my queen or i’ll quit and just be your man” like???? only so low because we get so little of him but TOD is actually one of SJMs best books too

10) Aidas: would have felt rude to put ZERO crescent city boys on this list and this spot wouldddd be Ruhn but he was an absolute dumpster fire in CC3 with Lidia so he’s lost his place🫡✨ but AIDAS I literally kept waiting for more of him the whole series because he’s so cools and suave (and a cat boy😩🔥) and brought this interesting morally grey twang to CC that it was missing. wish they expanded more on him but I love ALL his scenes

GALS:

1) AELIN ASHRYVER WHITETHORN GALATHYNIUS & MANON BLACKBEACK: no you can literally not make me chose they’re both PERFECT. perfect character arcs, perfect stories, perfect vibes, no notes at all✨🔥❤️ two of the most fun MC’s i’ve ever read and super interesting story arcs. Aelin went through so much and I genuinely FELT her journey and Manon was such a fun heartbreaking insane character to follow too I love them both endlessly

2) Elide: okay I LIVE for this girl and I don’t know why she’s so underrated??? like she’s so smart and cool??? survived this whole series with like -100 health and all odds against her and pulls all the baddies because she’s just that good??? is 50% of the reason they win the war??? so funny and generally STANDS ON BUSINESS, like she got the ick from Lorcan and actually made this man GROVELLLL and I love her for it

3) Yrene: ANOTHER underrated queen, i’m obsessed with her😩 there are so few fantasy characters out there like her and I LOVE that in this series of chaos and violence it’s a healer who saves the day and Yrene is so lovely and fun and smart but also stands on business and gets things done and I LOVE her

4) Nesta: I LOVE her and her character arc, she is another one of SJM’s most real/realistic characters and my heart genuinely aches for her, she deserves all the happiness in the world and the only reason she isn’t higher is bc of her choice in men (free her)🤧✨

5) Lidia: This woman literally SAVED the CC series. I would have DNF’d HOSAB if it weren’t for her and her parts were the only bearable ones (besides Nes and Az) in CC3. such an awesome character and her story is so heartbreaking and done so well for just being in one book really?? she’s incredible, I love her, of course she’s related to the queen and king themselves🔥✨

6) Lysandra: an absolute QUEEN and so underrated even though she saves the day countless times and is just so loyal and kind??? her friendships with Aelin and Evangeline are everything. she literally gave her all to fight for a world that had done nothing but hurt her and she’s so brave and beautiful for that, wish we had more of her🤧❤️

7) Asterin: when I tell you I WEPT at her death like a young lad I just JENDKEND for a side character she’s so phenomenal and has SUCH an impact on the entire storyline. her backstory is heartbreaking and yet she’s so full of light and happiness and love for her sisters. BRING MY BODY TO THE CABIN???? LIKE??? gets me everytime and I would SO read a story about her and her hunter boy or her and manon growing up or just her existing again 💔

8) Feyre: I know this feels low BUT i do love her so much, she genuinely starts this all and saved everyone’s ass, her character arc just feels a little incomplete to me and I wish SJM didn’t kick her to the curb because there’s a lot left to be done with her. truly though, I love Feyre and wish the best for her and hope we get to see more from her in the future✨

9) Elain: we’ve gotten so little of her but IDC I love a flower girl❤️🤧 truly though, she’s so intriguing to me and I can’t wait to read more about her (could DEFINITELY be higher after her book) she’s already so kind and fierce and also HILARIOUS, like I have laughed out loud at so many of her scenes😩 her gifts to Azriel being the best gags??? her LOLing when Nesta calls her a bitch??? I know she’s funny AF and we just need to see more of it

10) Emerie & Gwyn: I couldn’t decide again I love them both✨❤️ but really there two are not just what Nesta needed but what I NEEDED to get through ACOSF. their friendships with Nesta have my heart and they’re both so complex and fun even with so little page time??? I can’t wait to read more of them, I feel like both their stories have SOOOOO many possibilities and I am pumped AF for more

Okay, soooo I was tagged by @silentsundown (thank you so so much for tagging me, I really love to talk, ramble and even most of the time overshare on this blog, so thank you! I really appreciate you tagging me, I hope you're having a really nice time of the day!! 💗)

1. What’s your favourite sims death?

Meteorite death in The Sims 3, definitely! And maybe werewolf bite death and I'm not sure if it's a mod, buut I love when humans die by being sucked out too much blood by a vampire, like blood loss death or? Oh! And being eaten by the cowplant. Also, death by a myth from High School Years pack. It's super creepy for me personally. Please note that I'm not really a player, so I don't remember much deaths, I'm sure there's so much more interesting. creepy and kinda funny ways to die in Sims 4!

2. Alpha or Maxis Match CC?

It's both! I equally love alpha and maxis match, and mix those two styles because honestly? There's too much gorgeous and unique cc to both of these styles to just choose or prefer one.

3. Do you cheat when your sims gain weight?

No? Maybe because they don't because even when (actually it's IF) I play I cheat their needs :DD OH, and I also have some MCCC marks or whatever it called in English (метки) so their appearance won't be reseted or be able to change because I'm too tired of their presets changing for some reason when I enter live mode.

4. Do you use move objects?

5. Favorite mod?

I don't really remember all my favorite gameplay mods, but there are some I can't play without (not including some obvious ones such as MCCC and WW and UI Cheats and cooking mods that I have a lot):

ALL mods from SpinningPlumbobs, especially the Expanded Mermaid and Werewolves! These are super detailed and amazing for players who mainly focus on occult sims. It makes occults so much more interesting to play and it brought me back to somehow enjoying gameplay.

ALL mods from PERSEA, but especially Realistic Life & Pregnancy mod because it has so much cute interaction and it truly brings in so much depth and a sense of feelings to sims. Like real emotions and buffs, also cute dialogue options!

ALL mods from Lumpinou. But especially RPO, Open Love Life, Psychic Sims and Rambunctious Religions (if you wanted to have a cult in your game, esp occult cult - it's possible!!! And god I LOVE having sexy priests that are really priests in my game). Actually, every single mod of this creator is my must-have for gameplay, so YEEEEAH.

ALL mods from Maplebell. I do think that the Acting overhaul was a very needed mod for the game, as well as the socials & more kisses mod!

ALL mods from Adeepindigo, but especially education system overhaul AND PARANORMAL CAREER & GHOST HUNTERS!! Family activities and custom nuptials are the mods I find myself using the most, as well as Pet Care Activities. Also, the tweaks & small mods are VERY useful! The only mod I don't use from this creator is dental care - although it's super cool and realistic, but it's too overwhelming for me (thanks OCD), same with the most recent - Divergent sims, it's incredibly detailed but I'm not ready to deal with the same shit I go though every day in The Sims too lmao. It's overwhelmingly realistic & very detailed!

There's so much more, but my brain is super dumb, so I can't remember, but! If you see any detailed occult mod esp for vampires - you KNOW i'm already using it because that sort of mods are the most amazing for me. I love gameplay mods. although I don't really play a lot, but I have much of them.

6. First expansion/game/stuff pack you got?

I'M A FUCKING PIRATE HOW DO I ANSWER? I got them all at ones time yeeeeeah I'm too cool for this question 😎😎😎😎😎 But if I'm being serious, although I got on a pirate ship when I was a teen, I started playing sims 4 when I think Cats & Dogs came out? So that can count as the first thing I got just because I started there. But If i'm being serious, I don't remember lmao. When I was a teen, I was pirating everything I saw on russian torrent websites, but I remember being instantly more interested in TS4 when pets expansion came out. SORRY I'M STUPID AND MY MEMORY IS TERRIBLE

13. Favorite life stage?

YOUND ADULT. I'm scared of aging and death everywhere, so I have NEVER played a sim older than young adult. It may be oversharing (which is my love language btw and I just can't shut up SO BEAR WITH ME and my loud personality here), but the only thought about elders make me extremely sad and almost makes me hystericly cry for hours- NO IM NOT OKAY but my phychiatrist says it's getting better you know!!!! ALSO. My god infants are incredible cute and I love playing with kids because my god they're so adorable in game! I'm a child hater btw, but the game infants are super cute!

14. Are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?

I'm sorry but NEITHER. But if i need to choose, I'm choosing building because it's so good but also! Not nessecerealy building, but decorating! I don't build I'm fucking dumb & scared of floorplans, roofs and terrain painting. But decorating? Anytime, please!!

Ummm... Bloodborne & The Forest & Alien: Isolation?? But if we're talking about Sims, then it's TS2! The townies are the best although I didn't really grew up on The Sims in the way most simmers did, I played TS2 with my older sister all the time and this game has such amazing humor (although yeah it's pretty crude and mature BUT THAT'S SO COOL WWAAAAAAH) and personality, It's super good!

18. Do you have any sims merch?

20. How has your “sim style” changed throughout your years of playing?

I have no idea, I'm sorry. And I don't really have my much older sims or screenshots or save files? But I think I started being more risky and using much more CC and using heavy alpha CC which I adore! Also, my sims started to become more and more gorey and dark-themed. Like- I feel like my sims were less horror-like few years before, they were casual occults. GOD I HOPE ONE DAY WE CAN HAVE TRUE BODY HORROR (MORE EYES PLEASE!!!!!!!! I WANT MY SIMS TO HAVE EYEBALLS EVERYWHERE ON THEIR BODY AND I WANT THEM INSECTS GROWING UNDER THEIR SKIN PLLLLSSS!), like imagine having open lungs. more than two hangs or other body parts?? I came here in March, I believe! So like... 3 months? And my god I never felt this accepted in any community before, although begging was very scary and still is a bit, but the more I shared my OCs, edits and screenshots with you, the more accepted and loved I felt and my god, this is such an amazing feeling when you see how everyone share their amazing creativity and love for franchise and just- It's truly amazing to see everyone's amazing creativity and I still can't believe how different everyone's sims and game is! IT'S JUST SO COOL! I love seeing such different and unique visions being connected by the one game.

24. How do you edit your pictures?

OOOH It's a lot! First of all, I have pretty heavy and detailed reshade (but my PC is very much okay with this, so don't worry), I have a couple of favorite presets that make the game look SO MUCH DIFFERENT AHH! But keep in mind that I change a lot of settings and have my MXAO's set differently. The ultimate favorite of mine is Softee preset by Lustrousims! Its truly amazing and I use it every time. What I love about it is colour scheme and the way it DOES work with POC sims which is AMAZING! So for gameplay or build (which i have like... three, maybe?) or cas posts I don't really edit anything, maybe use a couple of color ajustments + dust + light leaks + resolution enchance + blur background a bit or make some details pop, but that's all!

But when It comes to my edits.... I do use blender, so you can see a few of my renders here. I edit them and in-game pictures either in GIMP or Photoshop (I pirate it too btw) for psd actions or if i'm editing while at work or while going somewhere - i use mobile editing apps such as Photoshop Express & Lightroom, Glitch Lab, Polarr, Vaporgram! Sometimes mobile apps are more useful for specific things than GIMP or Photoshop on PC lmaooo, so yeah.

OKAY SO. Please keep in mind that my opinion may be weird, but that's because I never paid a single euro for The Sims 4, I KNOW most of TS4 packs and content in general is super overpriced and bad if you keep in mind how much you paid for it, but I haven't, I have it all for free, so I just mostly enjoy everything when I truly explore or play it. I do still shame EA tho lmaoo.

Expansion: music groups & choirs & opera pack that will bring more ACTIVE careers for musicians, more music instruments, PLEASE GIVE ME OPERA AND BALLET THEATERS (... my russian side truly wants to have it, like pls), tours and trip-hop as in-game genre! Also, It would be amazing if they'll add something like church choirs or something like that.

Game pack: FAIRIES. And bigfoot. Please. I want to have those in my game so bad! Also, I think it would be amazing if we'd another pack where we'll get the whole funeral system, like funerals and graveyards! I WANT TO HAVE THOSE SO BAD. And I want this pack to have maybe mortician career. maybe even an active one? As well as active funerals, more coffins with cross-pack compability so that vampires can sleep in them too. Also! You know this message your sim sometimes get about their very far relative passing away and giving them money? I want it expanded & it's a great ability to add an option for a sim to own a multiple homes and apartments, like having their own and the house that was passed for them by a grand-someone.

Stuff packs: something for toddlers and infants, maybe including functional strollers & new interactive toys (like a mini piano or a book that can sing them songs) and more clothes and bb objests. I think we need more gameplay for toddlers and infants! And also, maybe a separate stuff pack for kids? ALSO WE FUCKING NEED THE SPOOKY STUFF REFRESH!

What are your favourite tlh characters and why?

If you have seen my blog the past few weeks, you probably can guess some of them, but here we go:

Grace

I feel like Grace is one of the most complex characters we've ever gotten in TSC and it feels like such a breath of fresh air. Don't get me wrong, I am perfectly aware that these are YA novels, so I generally don't expect the books to be super amazing, I know what I'm signing up for, but that's precisely why I like her so much. Her personality is very unlike other female characters we've gotten in the series and I don't mean that in a "not like other girls" sense but in the sense that it caught my attention immediately, because CC doesn't have the best track of giving her girls gray morality without treating them like they suck for that.

I guess I was always curious about her? Even in CoG she gave the impression she was more than she seemed, and reading her backstory in CoI just made me hurt for her and root for her to have a happy ending after so much misery. There's something really satisfying about characters that have faced so much hardships finally getting a chance to simply be.

Alastair

Oh, boy. When I first read CoG and I read about Alastair, he felt to me so much like my older brother that I loved him immediately. It helped that I found his snark incredibly funny. However... as I kept reading TLH, he actually started reminding me of, well, myself. For many reasons, but let's not get too personal here, haha, let's just say I found his flaws, his struggles, and his stubbornness to go on in spite of that very relatable. How could I not love him deeply and dearly?

Aside from my biased reasons, I also find that his character is written very consistently and I loved his character arc (I stand by how simplistic some things felt in COT, but even so), how he had his highs and his lows, that was very nicely done. He also feels like a complex character because he's allowed to fuck up badly and it doesn't get swept under the rug, though I would say they go the other way with him and Grace by being too harsh, but I'll take my wins where I can.

Christopher

Oh, Kit, sweet Kit, you were the best of them all. Christopher is such a great character because, while mostly ignored the first two books, he's endearing practically without trying. CC's books have this thing where sometimes they try to convince you a character is likable for X reasons and it simply doesn't work for me that they tell me that I should love a character.

Christopher doesn't have that problem, they kinda present him to you as this klutzy nerd, but he's so much more than that. His logic helps him be the most compassionate and kind from the group, no matter what the narrative tries to tell you. He's perceptive, he's fair, he's fun. Who doesn't like Christopher even if he isn't their favorite? He knows what he is and what he wants and he follows through with it, he's such a pillar of the group that passes unnoticed because he's always in the background, but by the gods, he's so good.

Honorary mentions

Thomas and Ari.

I adored Thomas in CoT, though I must admit he doesn't spark my curiosity and excitement quite like the other three did, in the way that I would get immediately engaged the second I saw their names on the page. Nothing wrong with him, just my personal preferences, but he was truly funny and sweet and I quite liked that!

Ari... I do like her, in a way, I wanted to like her so bad, but she's trapped as the love interest in Anna's narrative, and given that I have no love for Anna's character or their pairing, it was hard for me to enjoy her appearances. She didn't have a chance to shine on her own, but when I think of all the ramifications of her story, I swoon a little. She could be so interesting.

I think, part of the reason I’m quite ecstatic about the Hermitcraft & Empires crossover (The Great Crossover Event) is that... 

It was planned and followed through.

And this little ramble here isn’t a slight against any creator at all, but I first got re-involved with MCYT content with the DreamSMP. I think that using Minecraft as a medium for storytelling is super unique and underrated; there’s a bit of a juvenile energy to it as it’s a kids game, but also as a game with infinite possibilities and worlds it really has no bounds.

What DSMP did in 2020-2021 was amazing. I think that they had such great potential with storytelling and used it without even realizing what they were doing, especially in the early days. One of the reasons I fell out of it (as I’m sure everyone has) is that, for the most part, they aren’t really that organized as they maybe used to be.

And I get it. Life happens, and you lose inspiration for stories, and with COVID-19 NOT ENDING BUT EVERYONE THINKING IT IS OVER ENOUGH TO MOVE ONTO OTHER VENTURES, I’ve been there before. Well, maybe not the last part. I still wear mask everywhere I go. 

I can’t help but say that the disappointment of ccs losing interest in the DSMP storyline doesn’t hurt in a way. Call me parasocial for it all you want; but if your favorite book series or movie trilogy never had that final movie come out, or your favorite TV show never had that last season to tie up all the loose ends, you’d be dissapointed too, right? Again, this isn’t a slight against the individual ccs, just at circumstances around it.

But in come Hermitcraft and Empires; Hermitcraft was a series on my radar for years but I’ve always been intimidated by the long episode counts (except for season 8 now lmao) to ever get invested into it, but when Empires S1 came out i was hooked. People using Minecraft to tell stories! And it’s good!!!! 

There’s a sort of similar energy from early Empires episodes to early DSMP lore; none of it feels completely planned out. I can’t speak for creators of course, but it feels like both SMPs didn’t intend to get as story-based or lore-heavy as they ended up getting, but they got, eh, lost in ze sauce, as one of my friends would say. They embraced it, and it just so happened that Empires, because it was strictly MINECRAFT creators and not a mix of different types of streamers who also play Minecraft, it was able to keep that storyline to the end. And with Hermitcraft, while some people joke it’s got lore-phobic people on the server who just wanna play minecraft, after the ending of Season 8? Yeah, right, buddy.

When there started to be little pieces & foreshadowing in episodes, I got really excited, but kept my expectations low. Maybe as a response to DSMP CCs, maybe as a I get too overexcited over little things and I don’t wanna over-hype myself, if it doesn’t happen I’ll just make fanfic for it lmao type of thought. 

But they didn’t!

They actually went through with it! It’ll be a little mini-arc! They’d been planning it for more than four months, according to fWhip’s video. It’s one of the biggest crossover events in Minecraft history, and it is so cool to see these (grown-ass adults /affectionate) MCYT creators invest so heavily into storylines and “roleplay”. I think for a lot of popular storytellers, like directors or writers of different shows/movies/novels/etc, have become dissatisfied with how late capitalistic society has made “storytelling” synonymous with the dreaded word “content”; its so rare to find a unique work out there nowadays that isn’t just a remake of something else or relies on “meta” storytelling to be funny and original that it just oversells itself and becomes dull in the process (ahem Velma ahem). 

But as silly as it is, these MCYTs are putting their all into roleplaying as lil’ block people in a fantasy world. Even less roleplay-heavy creators are finding their places in the storytelling, and idk I can’t help but be appreciative and awed at the fact that they planned something and it actually went through for once.

Two things

1) constellations on his face - AMAZING. It's so interesting to see Phil's thoughts though all of this. Your characterization and knack for a narration that is more than the basic "this happened, and then this happened, and then I thought this" is truly great. Even though we've already gotten this in chapter 13 from Wil's POV, it was like I was reading a whole new scene just from Phil's internal monologue.

Also, shout out to spruce because the analyses are analyzing. I always appreciate spruce's thoughts on all your works.

2) I know you usually work with c!mcyts in your fics, but I've come to a dilemma. If you were to write more cc! content (specifically Wilbur) would you use "Wil", "Will/William Gold", or "Wilbur"? I didn't realize this distinction until I saw an anon bring up the fact that you can separate the old Lovejoy fans into the new ones based on how they call Wilbur because he tends to introduce himself as "Will" now, and it sent me into crisis

hm yeah I don't write rpf nor do I plan on it atm (although I will admit I had a crackfic idea one time that I was extremely tempted to write bc it would've been really funny but I did not go through with it bc I personally just don't feel super comfortable writing about real people) but if I were to do that I would probably still mostly use Wilbur for narration purposes because that's what he's just called by friends and family irl? but he does prefer to use will gold for his music stuff while wilbur soot is technically for his streamer/youtube stuff.

(although the fans who treat this like a hard and fast rule and act like you have to keep will gold from lovejoy and wilbur soot separate because the minecraft stuff is 'cringey' are just weird. wilbur has made it clear he's not embarrassed about his minecraft content like he's literally made dsmp jokes at lovejoy gigs)

I think one distinction I do make though is in fics I'll always have a character call him "Wil" with one L if they're just saying that instead of Wilbur (like Phil, who both in character and ooc almost always just calls him Wil/Will and rarely Wilbur). whereas if I were to hypothetically write cc!wilbur, I would write 'Will' with two L's. the reason for this is that in my head c!wilbur's name is just wilbur, whereas irl wilbur is a nickname for william. does that make sense?

this is totally unrelated to anything critblr but there's a fitness influencer named natacha oceane who is an absolutely amazing cc. she's funny, kind, and absolutely brilliant. her videos are both fun and super informative, and whenever she's making any kind of educational content she cites a bunch of evidence and includes the studies in her video descriptions. if you're looking for a positive but also realistic health focused cc to follow, i'd totally recommend checking out her channel.

another cc worth mentioning is matt baume, he makes informational videos documenting the history queer inclusivity in tv and movies. i've learned a lot about LGBTQ culture of the past from his videos, and if you're looking for a better understanding of the challenges queer people faced in hollywood during the 20th century, his channel is a great place to start

Watching some older Technoblade lore VODs and Quackity starts spouting -sh** about Technoblade having to pay for his "war crimes" and go on trial and etc. and I'm just watching as my blood boils, thinking about the trash moves Quackity has made in the past and how he's super guilty but he's talking like Techno is the bad guy. I hate Quackity pretty much. (Don't get me wrong, I hate him like any character who's actions I deplore and who is a filthy villain in my sight in any story. Don't hear me saying I hate the CC. 🔥 dream smp lore

So I got into the lore during Tommy and Techno's team up. Racconinnit forever.

Btw I'm gonna miss some things in my breakdown but here we go:

L'manburg era: excellent, amazing, fun and angsty storytelling. Sure the whole thing was an amateurish Hamilton rp via Minecraft but it was new and interesting and happened at the high of lockdown while everyone with a knowledge of the craft needed something to watch.

Doomsday: amazing, more angsty storytelling and was poetically the end of an era both in the lore and in the world as lockdown restrictions were lifted around the same time. (Also the funniest shit to happen on a day when an actual government resurrection was happening)

Egg lore + Sam Bucket: AMAZING, beautifully tragic and well written. I remember making red icing for cookies the day of the Banquet. The entire cast had a lot of love for the story and I hope the dsmp2 happens so we can get Red Velvet as the Egg. (As an Empires watcher I still believe there's some connection with Xornoth but that's a personal headcanon)

Exile: some people made it darker than it was. Most of them trying to paint Dream as a pedo and a rapist because they probably secretly shipped the two. Those people can kindly fuck off.

Prison + Disk finale: that prison was scary. I distaste Redstone with a passion and Sam put his whole creepussy into it. Loved Techno just getting caught and vibing with Dream. Also knew it was staged before the reveal.

Revive/Death book: lost its grip in the end. Dream XD and Foolish carried obviously.

Ranboo: UNTAPPED POTENTIAL! I was a ranboo lorehead. Wanted some sort of Bill Cipher and Ford Pines kinda thing with him and Dream but spineless enderboy couldn't keep up with his fans wanting to cancel him for every interaction he had so he used scheduling as an excuse

Las Navadas: also amazing. Also interesting. Quackity was a tragic character of his own undoing.

TOTSMP: super cool and well done. Beauitful cinematics and funny one off characters. Came back only for one episode because they lost a major player. Willing to purchase it in comic form if that's what Karl is doing.

In general, the bigger arcs were the best bits of lore. It was the smaller stuff that got lost imo. If you couldn't keep up with the big plots you got lost in it.

All the characters and lore were unique and I truly loved and enjoyed the majority of the smp. Again it was the fans that ruined it not the ccs. Techno's death is the majority reason why the dsmp died imo. As was the end of lockdown and drantis. I am open to a dsmp2 with new characters (Sylvee, Velvet, Gumi, anyone who is friends with Dream and plays minecraft). But I doubt that will happen this year. Hope for next year though.

i decided it would be fun to doodle my whole getting into dsmp timeline and keep a record of it for myself! notes for myself under the cut :)

Sometime late in the November of November 16th fame, I started getting back into minecraft YouTube again and I could not tell you for the life of me exactly what I was watching that lead to it but I became a big fan of Ghostbur and watched lots of clips compilations of him and by extension tommy. I didn’t watch any of Nov 16 or anything but I was a hardcore Ghostbur fan and his goofy but often sad antics in New Lmanburg, the family drama with Phil and Fundy, were really what captivated me about dsmp lore this lead to me checking out dsmp people on twitch, so I followed a raid onto ranboo on the day he joined and from then on I was a ranboo main! I watched him like everyday, I got super invested in his lore as it began, and I remember desperately hoping he’d hang out with phil because I thought he was cool and I think I remember ranboo looking up to him too (so you can imagine my excitement when soon into new lmanburg they started to actually hang out!)

this continued through doomsday into january when foolish joined, who I initially did not actually like- I just didn’t vibe with his day one stream when I watched a bit. But then I saw someone who screenshotted part of his summer home (the first big arch he did after the snake statue) and I was flabbergasted, so I tuned into a building stream. And I found foolish was… extremely funny! He’s really silly so his humor is never about putting anyone down for any reason, he had a great rapport with chat that has never changed, and he is an amazing builder. those streams were enthralling, because even doing something as tedious as building can be he always keeps me completely entertained

so slowly, as we moved from February to March, I stopped watching ranboo a lot (especially because I found his nighttime beeduo streams boring at best, so less and less of his content appealed), and started to become a true foolish main! I got really into the egg plot, I started to wane a lot in my liking of c!ranboo, and by the time ranboo moved to the uk I had stopped watching him entirely. of course, this is during prison arc, which is when my passing love of cc!dreams acting like in the exile negotiations and doomsday started to become a lot more serious investment in c!dream

now, back in that first fall, I had also been recommended via YouTube (no surprise) minecraft manhunt, which I devoured as soon as possible, so I liked Dream but it’s not even as if he streamed or made content much (and I was admittedly afraid of how fervently people disliked him and would attack fans of him), but as I moved to foolish, and had been entrenched in these ccs for long enough, I started to like allow myself to really enjoy him and he and foolish balanced out perfectly bc foolish did almost daily content and dream did rare bursts!

of course, roughly last fall karl hit it off with foolish and started consistently joining his streams, and from there I really fell deep into this friend group of ccs, dtqk+, and became a big watcher of Karl alt streams and, eventually, Tina!! Foolish integrating into that group with Karl, Quackity, and eventually Dream really brought me a lot of joy :) their content and humor really clicks with me

I’m currently very happy with where I’m at: finally have somewhere I can comfortably just ramble about these people I enjoy instead of getting by on lurking, and dump art I make instead of having it rot on my phone!

Why did you choose your url?

The current version? Initially, when I changed my name from furiouslydecaffinated (misspelt and I honestly couldn't think of anything that wasn't already taken) I wanted streetlight-halo, which was taken. Which turned into streetlightaurora which turned into streetlites because I dreaded any ask song games that I like playing but having like 2093847 letters made me think, never mind. lol... so. I have a shorter name for song ask games. really. But I really like it!

How long have you been on Tumblr?

2015! I started it to creep on cc creators way back when I was mm and wanted amazing cc from @budgie2budgie and @bsimth who actually took the time to use simlish lettering! I'm completely alpha but I still really appreciate a simlish swatch!

Do you have a queue tag?

I very seldom have a post queued to where I have to have dedicated tag. I use things like queueueueueued as a joke on the rare occasion I've got something waiting.

Why did you start your blog in the first place?

I started my blog to like posts I intended to download. Then I started to like posts I, you know, liked and couldn't keep up with all of them. I think I about fell out of my skin when I reblogged a post about recoloring bedding and @saudade-sims4 and @deelitefulsims responded to help me out with them - I wasn't expecting helpful people! lol I think, without that little bit of interaction, I probably would have lurked and eventually deleted. Instead, it got me looking and interacting with more people on here.

Why did you choose your icon/pfp?

I really liked that edit of Vera - it's got that pseudo-religious imagery I really dig. Before I was using a vorcha giving the finger... because I thought it was funny.

Why did you choose your header?

I was seeing a lot of pictures meant to serve as cover images for simblr stories and wanted to make my own.

I think one of the slanted "window" posts. It's cc, super old and obsolete. I don't think it counts.

I don't know, I try to interact with most people that interact with me, which usually leads to mutuals? Maybe? I don't know and I don't know how to find out either which is probably for the best. hah.

1.5k ... most of that came when I posted cc, not stories or edits. So I feel like the true number is much, *much* smaller.

Eh, not really. Some vague posting here and there and blocks. I've been really fortunate that most of the people I've had issues with are of a similar mindset as me that we're not going to get riled up over some dumb shit on the internet and just made a post before blocking.

I think my eyes glaze over because I can't think of the last time I've seen one of those.

Why Ginny fell in love with Harry? His personality and morality he's funny, humble, determined, selfless, powerful, generous, brave, strong, fearless, independent, smart, passionate and dedicated to his friends and love ones and extraordinary amazing person.

She had an crush on the boy who lived but fell in love with Harry Potter himself.

Many say she's perfect for Harry ( which is true) but people forget how perfect Harry is for Ginny. What's yours thoughts about this?

First off, I really feel honored to have such a lovely question for my very first ask! Thank you!

And you’re right, not a lot of people in this fandom tend to ask about how Harry is perfect for Ginny (and a lot of that is because they don’t even agree Ginny is right for Harry in the first place lmao. Can’t relate, imho.)

I think that line in Cursed Child, as much as I don’t particularly enjoy their relationship portrayed in that book/think it’s not one hundred percent accurate as to how it was canon in the series, pretty much sums it up.

“People think there is all there is to know about you, but the best bits of you are and always have been heroic in really quiet ways.”

I can just imagine that more Ginny haters would misinterpret that line too, fueling more to their claim that she only ever “loved” him because of his heroism.

If that’s really what you took from that…I’ve got things to say to you.

I do think Ginny appreciates his selflessness and his genuine care for other people though. And, no, that is not the same thing as her hero-worshipping the dude. Anyone with a functioning brain knows that these are accurate descriptions of Harry’s characterization.

But those characteristics are not the only thing she loves about him, of course.

I think Ginny loves Harry for the same reasons he loves her back.

Like her, Harry is passion-driven, hardworking, has strong familial values, the same sense of humor, and understands her so so so so well.

But for now, let me focus on that last point because I think that’s the one that needs to be highlighted the most to the Harry bashers (do those exist? At least pertaining to Hinny? Hmm.)

I don’t know if anyone’s noticed, but as soon as the infamous “Lucky you” scene in which Ginny tells his ignorant and arrogant ass off, he’s been so attentive to the way she perceives things.

He never once forgot that traumatic experiences happened to her again. He simply wouldn’t let himself.

When they saw Lockhart at St Mungo’s, he turned to Ginny to crack the joke about his exuberant personality, even though Ron and Hermione both had been with him that year. It goes beyond simply just acknowledging Ginny’s presence that year, and about time too.

When Ginny became alarmed about the Half Blood Prince potions book in HBP, Harry immediately knew she was thinking of the diary and even changed his angry tone that he was using with Hermione because he knew Ginny rightfully needed to be reassured.

In DH, he wanted to hug and comfort her when she saw she was crying (& this is why I hate when people say he only likes Ginny because “she’s not weepy” - which I find funny bc Ginny actually cries a lot, yes, in COS but she also “angry cries” too, as we see in HBP when she tells Ron off in the corridor with Dean. But also, like, do you even see the way he interacts with her? He appreciates her strength, but he would never push Ginny away for having a basic human response. And he never did, which is literally canon.)

He’s never once done that/even felt like doing that to any other girl, not even Hermione. If he did feel it, he would always express how uncomfortable it made him too.

Even in COS, he was super attentive to Ginny’s emotional state after the chamber events, even halting Ron from asking more questions because Harry didn’t want to scare her more.

In DH, he proves he has confidence in her abilities by automatically assuming (literally. Like, no questions asked or any hesitance) she was leading the DA along with Neville and Luna.

(This is also why I wonder why the eff everyone assumes Neville was the leader in the rebellion, not Ginny, because I don’t think there’s literally ANY canon evidence that suggests that. If there is, my mistake, but like. Why Neville and not Ginny, when the proof given is Harry’s assumption that Ginny is leading it? I digress.)

And not to give more evidence from the controversial CC, but Harry also asked Ginny for her opinion near the end of the book, his exact words (roughly) being, “Hang, on, Hermione. I’m not doing anything until I ask Ginny.” (I apologize if that’s not the exact quote, I don’t have the book on me right now.)

That line must’ve been a fat bitch slap to the face of the Harmony shippers who think that even though Harry married Ginny in canon, he still values the opinions of the Golden Trio, and particularly Hermione, way more. An excuse to commit emotional infidelity, if you will.

But…he fucking doesn’t. I’m sorry.

Honestly, I know this ask wanted me to talk about why Harry is perfect for Ginny, but Harry would do anything for Ginny, he loves her so much and respects her wishes and understands what she needs, and Ginny deserves nothing less, so that’s why he’s perfect for her.

This is not to say their relationship is perfect either and they understand each other at ALL times (e.g. Harry wanting to protect her during the Final Battle but not bothering to understand Ginny wanting to fight to protect her family too, which I alluded to in the fic I wrote welcome and goodbye on AO3 and ffn, #shamelessselfpromo), but that’s the beauty of how realistic they are, that they have things they need to work on too, which is in complete contrast to what people usually say about them actually. (Perfect couple, my ass. Do you just hate people who equally make each other happy?)

But it’s true.
