I know we all LOVE Brendan Fraser in The Mummy. It’s essentially the one fandom we’re all in. And we love George of the Jungle. It’s the Himbo romance we all fantasize about.
BUT….
For as much as we love and support Brendan, we really don’t talk about his other films enough. He was in amazing films, starring in both dramatic and comedic roles with equal skill, well before The Mummy or GotJ.
So, as a reminder, here are just a sample of some of his great films that need to be talked about more. If you haven’t seen these, please remedy that.
brendan fraser. patrick dempsey. b-man frase gives me horrendous [redacted as it is a person I know irl but think the worst, most pretentious person] vibes. drink every time they call the homeless man “the bum”. “boy oh boy women are perfect” 💛. jeff 🤢. monty learning that people are people 😍. courtney suddenly forgetting that he’s a person as soon as he inconveniences her. sweet movie. got that feeling (the same one as after Map of Tiny Perfect Things)
Grover: Sir 🥺🥺 we’re so sorry but we have no idea what happened to our train cabin—
Percy and Annabeth: WHAT KIND OF STUPID ARE YOU, MR. TRAIN COP?! OOOH YOU THINK SOME TWELVE YEAR OLDS DID THIS?? SO WHAT YOU’RE GONNA ARREST US??? HUH???? POST UP
Love the contrast between the Americans’ “Apollo” and the Soviets’ “Sputnik.” You got the Americans naming their rocket after a Greek god trying to communicate the grandness and importance of this rocket. And you got the Soviets naming their rocket “fellow traveler.” Like a friend you go on an adventure with together. This rocket is our little friend lol
