The Raven Cycle:

the first character i ever fell in love with: Blue Sargent, as she’s the first POV character

a character that i used to love/like, but now do not: none, I only gain more appreciation for them all over time (except Whelk but I never liked him in the first place so.)

a ship that i used to love/like, but now do not: none. I guess I liked Adam and Blue in the beginning and then shipped them both with who they ended up with, but I still liked the sweetness of them at the start anyway. 

my ultimate favorite character™: Calla Lily Johnson

prettiest character: Well, according to legit every other character in the series, that would be Gansey lmao

my most hated character: Barrington Whelk. the other villains are at least fun about their evil-doing. 

my OTP: pynch and bluesy

my NOTP: rovinsky

favorite episode: we’ll go chapter since it’s a book series and it’s for sure the chapter in The Raven Boys when the guys all go to 300 Fox Way for the first time and meet the women and everything is so raucous and they’re all sizing one another up, all knowing different things about one another. I just love all of the dynamics - Calla and Ronan’s instant antagonism, Adam and Gansey looking to one another for advice, Maura feeling totally overwhelmed by their big energy, Gansey picking Blue’s card TWICE and Maura getting upset, all of the ladies lying about knowing anything about the ley line and the boys knowing that they were lying, etc. The whole thing. All of it. Amazing. 

saddest death: Persephone

favorite season: We’ll go with book and you know what? It’s really hard for me to decide, but I think perhaps Blue Lily, Lily Blue because we get Gwen and Jesse Dittley and Malory and more focus on Blue’s specialness. 

least favorite season: There just isn’t one. I love them all dearly.

the first character i ever fell in love with: I mean, probably Tony since that first movie was his, but as far as a character that I LOVE-loved, the first one was probably Valkyrie. Up until then, I’ve loved all the characters don’t get me wrong, but more in a “this is fun” way than a “OMG RESTART MY HEART NOW” way. 

a character that i used to love/like, but now do not: I have to admit that my changing feelings about Chris Pratt have affected how I feel about Peter Quill. 

a ship that i used to love/like, but now do not: IDK, I’m not super shippy with this fandom?

my OTP: Tony and Pepper are sweet, of course. Carol and Maria. Also love the idea of Valkyrie and Thor. 

my NOTP: hmmmm, do I have one? I guess I never really saw the point of either Wanda and Vision or Hulk and Natasha. Both felt like a combo of compulsory heterosexuality and a lack of time to devote to building a ship due to the vastness of the universe. 

favorite episode: We’ll go with movie and it’d be a 3-way tie again between Black Panther, Thor: Ragnarok, and Captain Marvel

saddest death: I think Gamora’s hit me the hardest, but at least there’s another Gamora out there running around now, so Natasha would be the saddest in the context of she’s gone and her story is incomplete. 

favorite season: For this, let’s go with phases and I think I’d pick phase 3 - Civil War through Endgame

least favorite season: I guess phase 2 - IM3 - Ant-Man

character that everyone else in the fandom loves, but i hate: Loki? I enjoyed him in Ragnarok but not so much in the other films. 

my ‘you’re piece of trash, but you’re still a fave’ fave: I’m gonna go with Erik Killmonger, the most sympathetic villain I’ve ever watched. His story really worked for me, while keeping him as an actual unredeemed villain and that is such a hard line to walk and I love how they did it. 

my ‘beautiful cinnamon roll who deserves better than this’ fave: Groot. Also Bruce Banner. Also Thor.

Wanda lore just dropped !

Her incredibly unfinished Toyhouse

Wanda Whelk is a psychic super villain tasked with the mission of seizing control of Otto Mentallis’s Personal Astralathe Exhibition with the help of an invention called the Brain Scrambler! Raz must venture into her mind and find some way to stop this Hightide Schadenfreude!

This level would function mostly like a psychonauts 1 level, in that doing the level progresses the story, but Wanda’s mind doesn’t Actually have anything to do with the plot. Except maybe a little as this is where Raz would really unlock his hydrokinesis in a kind of fight or flight, as the whole level is water water water. Also building off of my headcanon that even though Lucy is fine with psychics now, she doesn’t really want to use them especially not enough to personally teach Raz do to their associations + Raz isn’t trying to accidentally psychically DROWN himself anymore but he’s still a little afraid of water.

The level itself would be broken up into, The Boardwalk; where you would do some puzzles, platforming, as well as fight some censors and boardwalk residents as some of them can become hostile. The Stadium; which you make your way over to in the boardwalk, here you fight Wanda. Then the TBA third section; where you get drained into after the stadium fight. This section would somewhat deal with her backstory, as well as be the point where all three C.R.I.M.E. agents agree to the stalemate with the Psychonauts.

I don’t really have any questions but can we hear about some more of your villain ocs life outside of well villainy? Do they have a home somewhere or do they just live at headquarters? What they do outside of work? Etc.

So all of the main CRIME agents live at headquarters, there’s a bunch of other villains that work there or work with them that live somewhere else, but for the most part the actual ocs live there lmaoo.

Minerva definitely has a secret lair somewhere not attached to hq, same with maybe Wanda, but they don’t necessarily *live* there. Batty is INCREDIBLY elusive to the psychonauts and just general public, his laboratory is apart of the HQ. Batty was one of the founding members (when he was pretty young) so he was already living in the hq when it was just an old bunker.

Dexter has a decently sized bedroom there that just looks like a normal 10 year old comic nerd boy’s bedroom, with some added criminal plans and inventions. Ant’s office and attached bedroom is RIGHT next to Dexters, so their ants escape on the occasion and crawl into Dex’s room lmaoo. Ant technically has a home elsewhere, he used to live with his parents before going to college, he ended up dropping out but his parents don’t really know that— so his old family house probably still has a room for them and stuff but for all intents and purposes they live at HQ.

Cortez is the founder and he just ALSO lives there too, but it’s less of a normal “having a room going to the communal kitchen for food” living situation that everyone else has.

How would batty and Wanda react to dexters crush on razputin?

Oh Batty knows by like! Halfway through the mission where Raz first meets them, Dex doesn’t tell him or anything he can just tell. Wanda and Batty’s clairvoyance image of Raz changes once throughout the mission, and while Wanda’s is unrelated, Batty’s is

This, which doesn’t explain tooo well what I have in mind, but you get the point. Batty really doesn’t seem it as anything serious. More just getting a light chuckle out of him every once in awhile but he’s not the type to tease Dex about it. Batty trusts in Dexter’s ability to Not let it get too much in the way of anything they’re doing, and he’s not wholly convinced it’s something that will last either.

As for Wanda though, she probably wouldn’t notice until Dex is like, 13 ish. THEN she’s teasing him about it. It would probably all click together for her, like oohhh a lot more stuff makes sense now. She also doesn’t seem to take it very seriously. She does chide him for the crush, but only really in a joking manner.

As for people who know and would care, it’d mostly actually be Minerva. Her whole backstory revolves around love affairs and being betrayed and heartbroken, so she’s more just worried about Dexter than anything. She mostly just forebodingly warns him against putting his heart too much into it. It’s more Founded from her than anyone else, given her precognition, but precognition can only show so much!

Dexter’s response to ALL of them is just wholeheartedly denying it. After a few months or a year, HE does know. But he doesn’t want THEM to know. Too bad. They already do lmaooo.

And was wondering about you trans Psychonauts villain headcannons (oc and cannon)

For canon characters I headcanon Loboto as transmasc and Oleander as genderqueer!

I really think Oleander wouldn’t rlly find out until he was older, like maybe even post psychonauts 1 n 2, mainly because he probably had a lot of toxic masculinity pressured onto him from his family environment lingering over. Especially given some of the things in his mind/some of his dialogue lines + not being able to get into the military and such. I’m sure Raz going into his mind and clearing some family trauma up in there tho rlly would help him figure that out later on tho!

For loboto I really don’t have a complex headcanon for him. His parents probably weren’t supportive, and his short hair in his mind as a kid was probably either just his self imaging on how he wanted to look as a child, or he took some scissors to his hair and his mom had to neaten it up even if she didn’t want his hair that short.

Okay now ocs!

Dexter is a trans guy! His parents had a really, wishy-washy personality for actually caring about Dexter, and by the time he really came out he’s already so much of a ‘problem child’ that his parents probably just Didn’t really care what he did gender wise. He was always type to actively fight any sort of girl perceptions of him, even before he knew he was trans. Most of his clothes pre-villainy consisted of t shirts and shorts exclusively (not really how he wanted to dress, but still it’s not girly clothes lmaoo) he Definitely just took a pair of scissors to his hair and just cut it short himself, probably in a public bathroom with some scissors he stole who knows.

Batty’s also a trans guy (I am not immune to trans boy having trans guy mentor gender envy) he grew up in such a weird environment (being an orphanage scientific experiments were conducted in) that he Really didn’t have the freedom to do anything for himself until he was like 16, when he left. He never presented femininely, not exactly by choice but he didn’t dislike it. He kind of just continued to present masculinely as he grew up, but this time socially transitioning as well. He realized he was trans younger than that, but probably didn’t do anything on account of “yeah he Wanted to be a boy, but he didn’t know he could just Do that” until he was out on his own.

Wanda is a trans woman! I think she would probably have had more of a neutral environment like Dexter, not really transphobic, but not really super supportive either. I think she would’ve found out when she was a preteen, like 11-13 ish. I don’t really have much for Wanda’s parents, but I kinda wanna think up something for them, I think it would be interesting if it was like, she had a lot of siblings/really busy parents that they just didn’t rlly remember which one she was anyway so she kinda flew under the radar with being trans anyway.

Ant! Ant! They’re non binary (they/he), there’s really not much to their backstory in the ways of trans things, I think their parents would be supportive, but I also think they were SUPER OVERLY SHELTERING like to an extreme degree, so any sort of love was probably held over his head to make him anytime he wanted to leave them or what have you. Idk if they woulduse their support as leverage. But maybe.

Lastly Minerva isn’t ‘canonically’ trans in oc world or whatever but I think she has some transfem swag. Old woman weird hag tfem swag

So I’ve been thinking about Dexter and his eventual redemption arc and was wondering, how would Batty and Wanda react to this?

If they still work for crime at this time would they feel betrayed? Would they try to win dexter back over?

At that point in their life, I don’t know how ‘evil’ either Batty or Wanda would be! By the time Dex officially kind of stops being a villain, Batty would be pretty old like? Late fifties I think? I think he might not care anymore ghfkffj. Like, yeah whatever Dexter, do whatever. I think Batty would probably get to a point where he REAALLLYY just wants to be left alone from people who he’s not friends with, so, not really out of the goodness of his heart and more out of old man grouchiness, just decides to stop meddling in things and work on experiments and passion projects instead so long as the psychonauts leave him alone. I think he’d probably also be more mentally stable by then, given the psychonauts probably would have been in his mind AT LEAST once by now, but he really doesn’t like actively seeking help. At all. Tldr by the time Dex gets his redemption arc Batty is basically just neutral just because of old man orneriness lmaoo

Wanda however would probably be pretty hurt by it. I think they would have to fight her eventually and, in psychonauts style, she would probably get more of a sudden redemption arc via psycho portal and mind finagling. She probably wouldn’t try to outwardly win him over at first, Wanda is a very bitter and resentful person when it comes to people she doesn’t like or has beef with, so outwardly she’d just be very irrationally mad. However once they’re in her mind, and they peel back some of those emotional layers she’d probably try to win him back. Batty would definitely be a kind of middle ground for them, once Dex officially decides to leave and switch over, Batty would probably still be very close with both Dex and Wanda. I could see Wanda also getting mad at Batty for not fully taking her side on the matter of Dex leaving. This would probably all be resolved within the week or Dex leaving C.R.I.M.E. though, Wanda and Dex both like to confront things head on so they really wouldn’t dance around the matter and probably get right to fighting. Wanda definitely wouldn’t join the psychonauts after that though, probably taking more of a neutral stance with Batty.

Dexter also never joins the psychonauts, partly because they don’t wanna hire him, partly because his interests still don’t fuullyy line up with theirs. Just not really his jive, y’know? Also the heads know he would cause too many issues if they did hire him lmaoo. He however still manages to go on every mission that Raz and Lili does bc he still REALLYREALLY wants to do psychic stuff and they do. Appreciate his help. Sometimes. When he’s not making stuff worse— they’re very close friends with him so it’s kinda more like asking your buddy for help with something even if Dexter isn’t working for the psychonauts directly.

Ok here’s the third villain oc I’ve talked about Wanda Whelk

Her specialties are hydrokinesis and thermokinesis (specifically of water/liquids) and she’s pretty good at levitation, shes in her late twenties to early thirties and used to have a job as a plumber. She’s lively and fun loving, and loves the ocean. She had become a villain of sorts when after a life of being beaten down on by the people, she snapped and lashed out (specifically with her psychics) and after found joy and control in taking back the power she hadn’t had before. Aside from the villain stuff she gets frustrated pretty easy but it’s generally very nice with her villain coworkers :-)
