Warby Parker High Prescription Sunglasses Experience
I have a high eye glasses prescription and I went to Warby Parker to see if they could make prescription sunglasses for me and if so, get an estimate for the cost. First of all they told me that their limit was like-15, (I can’t remember precisely so if you’re anywhere close to that you’ll want to go in person or call customer service to confirm. )
They also said that for sunglasses, even though my prescription would call for ultra high index (1.74), they could only use high index (1.67) and not ultra high index, which would obviously increase lens thickness. For my prescription, they said that only grey, green and brown lenses would work- not sure why! They also recommended that for my high prescription, I go for small and round glasses, and that I buy in store so that they can make sure to properly measure pupillary distance, etc.
Finally, cost wise-
High index lenses (1.67) -$50
(Ultra high index lenses (1.74) are $150 but not available for sunglasses)
Price of frame- cheapest was $95
Additional $100 to make the lenses sunglasses
Total: ~$250, with no insurance
Personally, I wasn’t really all that impressed with the pricing. I’m lucky enough that for me this is similar to what I would pay with insurance. But, if you’re like me and want an extra pair of glasses and your insurance only covers one, then it might be something to consider.
Additionally, eye exams were $85 without insurance
I’ve also done brief search of reviews for Warby Parker by people with high prescriptions, and they overwhelming don’t recommend it, although I haven’t tried it yet myself. One person had the interesting idea of buying the lens for cheap at WB and then getting the lens made and fitted at your optician. I might try that personally.
TLDR: for people with high prescriptions considering WB: First make sure that they can actually make your prescription. It might be worth it to go with WB if you don’t have insurance or you need an extra pair. If you do decide to go for it, make sure to go in person to get properly measured.

Hey!! Absolutely! I have a pretty round and larger head so I totally understand the struggles of finding cute bigger lenses! ; w ; 🙏💕💕
I got these from eyebuydirect after reading some great reviews for them! I'm wearing the Altar (Geometric Navy & Gold) style! It's their Large size (they also have Extra Large/Extra Wide options in lots of frames) and these were sized pretty accurately to the "try on" images! And the measurement size for this pair is 54-19-145 (lens width, bridge width, and temple length) for reference!
This pair also feels pretty good so far - the metal frame is bendy but not flimsy - sturdy but flexible metal feeling, sort of bouncy? It's nice! The blue-lense coating is VERY reflective/shiny which is weird to get used to - it was a bit subtler on my other frames (which were Warby Parker). But the large appeal for this brand was that I wanted new frames and I didn't want to go the eye doctor to pay for a new Rx (and mine don't change much anyways).
But eyebuydirect is so far so good! Warby Parker is where I've bought all my older frames and they have a nice selection of Wide and Extra Wide options as well! They're more expensive and you need a new Rx every year or so (which is a pain) but they do hold up! My last pair I had for four years and I finally retired them because I noticed some scratched sections.
Anyways this was a longer response than I intended! But!! I definitely recommend trying out eyebuydirect or warby parker for frames! The try on features are really nice and pretty accurate! I hope you can find some cute big lenses for yourself!! 🥳🙏💕💕💖

I regularly commission art from a variety of artists and welcome gift art, but I request that any fan art made be safe for work and not at all involve hate speech or symbols. I plan to expand my model design to something include a few more options that are a tad more risque but that will be commissions or models only. Any fan art, however, is appreciated and I would ask that the tag #HaymarketRiotSquad be used.
Extra details
"She/They" pin and surname over pocket are not necessary for fan art, but the name is required for the model. The pin is planned to be a separate asset in the future. When she is wearing the military fatigue over-shirt, at least one patch is required, depending on perspective of art, as they are sewn on.
Both the anarchist patch and the transfem pride flag patch are required for all models with the over-shirt.
The over-shirt is intended to otherwise be military-spec. Patches are to be close to shoulder level, pronoun pin on the right pocket and surname over the right pocket. Sleeves are always rolled up past her elbows.
Pick any black Warby Parker frame for her glasses.
Her earrings aren't consistent, but she prefers sapphire gemstone earrings.
Ariel the persona has "mosquito bites" that are closer to 40D than 40C. She primarily wears sports bras that mildly compress her chest.
On her left shoulder is an age of sin tattoo modified to have a Star of David in the center.
Any time she is portrayed more formally (ritzier than a tee and jeans), the attire is either a dress shirt or polo with slacks and work-appropriate dress shoes. She rarely does skirts.
Swimwear is a bikini top and swim trunks. Never bikini bottoms, as she's pre-op.
If she is to be portrayed in a state of undress (swimwear, PJs, cami and underwear at most, no NSFW), it is required that you can see surgery scars along the lower boundary of Ariel's rib cage and along the upper border of her hips. There are also scars on her right and left flank. These hide the parts what store her cybernetic innards along with her still-healthy organs.

The air in our house feels fresh and clean, and it’s wild to see what the filter is picking up. I wish we would have gotten them sooner! A new air fryer. You guys know I’ve been on the hunt for a nontoxic air fryer, and I found a glass one with decent reviews. (I debated a stainless steel one, but some of the reviews said they still had internal plastic parts and a chemical smell.) It’s SO pretty and I’ll definitely report back. My contributions to the feast were a Mediterranean-style pasta salad: (Trader Joe’s gf pasta, sundried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, bell pepper, kalamata olives, feta, oregano, lemon juice, mint, olive oil, salt and pepper) Brownie-cookie-Oreo bars, and this mixed berry crumble (I used gf flour). Bodyweight HIIT workout. Fashion and beauty: New RX sunnies! I did a Warby Parker home try-on for sunglasses and decided to order the Rhea sunglasses in truffle tortoise. I got my last pair of rx sunglasses last-minute at Eye Mart before our Italy and Greece trip, and while they’ve definitely served their purpose, they are so heavy on my face. I love Warby Parker’s quality so I have my fingers crossed that these will be lighter and more comfortable. I tend to wear glasses for the first part of the day or if I know I’ll be outside a lot, and love having rx sunglasses for walks, hikes, and swims. This dress!! I mentioned it in last week’s Friday Faves post and didn’t attach a pic. I love that it looks like a La Vie Style House dress at a fraction of the cost. I ordered it in black, too! ERIN’S TARGETED ADS
Over the past month I have collected my unprompted targeted advertisements. Unprompted ads are ads for products or services that I did not previously search for. For example, I was looking for eyeglasses recently, so all Warby Parker and EZContacts ads were omitted. I have chosen three ads to look into and analyze. 
The first advertisement that jumped out at me was a weight loss gummy called “Oprah’s Keto + AVC GUMMIES.” In the ad, Oprah stands in front of a Weight Watchers, a company for whom she famously declared her love of bread. The ad promotes losing 60 pounds over the course of 60 days while taking these gummies. According to CNN, Oprah has nothing to do with these gummies and “I don’t want you all taken advantage of by people misusing my name.” For me, weight loss ads really suck. I am a person who struggles with disordered eating and sensitivity to textures, so food is already not super slaying. Weight loss ads, to me, just further remind me of the grip that the wellness and weight loss industry has on my personal eating choices. I never have a meal without considering the repercussions of consuming those specific foods. 
Three days later I received a LaserAway ad for CoolSculpting, a commercialized process for the removal of “stubborn fat cells.” The medical term for the process, which became FDA approved in 2010, is cryolipolysis. Because fat cells freeze at a higher temperature than skin cells, the machine is able to destroy 20-25% of the fat cells in the affected area. Although it is not a process for losing weight, many perceive cool sculpting as a quick and easy way to slim down. The ad was pink and the device was being used on a woman. It is not hard to assume women are the main target of this advertisement, especially in a world where women are consistently targeted by ads like the first one. Personally, I don't think I would ever consider CoolSculpting, but I understand why someone would. The reward for being thinner is not only social, but thin people make more money and face less discrimination because of their size. Airports, movie theaters, school desks, and small hallways all become more accessible the thinner you are. I really don’t level any judgment to individuals who choose to pursue the service, it’s just not for me. 
On March 16th I received one of many ads (that are definitely working on me) for Loop earplugs. The specific ad was marketed toward those “TRIGGERED BY NOISE?” and was clearly geared towards neurodivergent teens and young adults. This was particularly interesting and kind of exciting because I so rarely see mainstream products that help with sensory overstimulation. The product is not flashy and distracting like a fidget spinner, it is small and meant to be forgotten about. I know it is just a way to reach a new market, but products that are developed for neurodivergents that are small and discreet are really valuable. I am unsurprised that I was personally targeted by this ad, simply because I am a neurodivergent young adult who goes to concerts. Reviews have been positive, reviewers saying that the earplugs are comfortable and effective
Overall, my targeted ads are really hit-or-miss in terms of getting me to convert to purchasing them. I would never purchase the first two, but they do capitalize on the fears and insecurities of my demographic (AFAB 20 year olds). I don’t have intense weight insecurities (there’s a little, don’t get me wrong), but ads like that definitely heighten any existing insecurities. It has been a while since I received a NOOM ad but the feeling is the same. I get tense about my eating for the rest of the day. The Loops give me a little hope for my targeted ads not making me want to cry.

"She/They" pin and surname over pocket are not necessary for fan art, but the name is required for the model. The pin is planned to be a separate asset in the future. When she is wearing the military fatigue over-shirt, at least one patch is required, depending on perspective of art, as they are sewn on.

If she is to be portrayed in a state of undress (swimwear, PJs, cami and underwear at most, no NSFW), it is required that you can see surgery scars along the lower boundary of Ariel's rib cage and along the upper border of her hips. There are also scars on her right and left flank. These hide the parts what store her cybernetic innards along with her still-healthy organs.

Friday Faves 9.15 https://ift.tt/gXbm6iS Hi hi! Happy Friday! How was the week? We’re on Day 5 of our community detox and the feedback so far as been amazing! I’m doing 21 days for the first time, and I already feel SO good. I could see/feel a lot of inflammation in my face, and it’s already gone. My energy is better, sleep has been better, and it doesn’t feel daunting at all. (Even though I’ll be ready for some chocolate when this is all over.) I’m continuing to dig into my whole situation, and mold exposure can contribute to gut imbalances and bacterial overgrowth. I know we were exposed to mold when we lived in San Diego – our little house by the beach was like 100 years old – but was curious to see if we had mold exposure here. I bought these little testing pucks and put them in various locations around the house. I won’t post the results (because EW) but we were shocked!!! The worst offenders were our couch and upstairs carpet. We’ve been planning on getting the carpet removed anyway – this just expedited the process – but we were on the computer ordering a new couch that very day. Which brings us to the next fave: new couch! Our old brown Axis had stood the test of time, but we had it hauled away because it apparently didn’t fare well from the San Diego and Georgia humidity. We considered getting a new Axis, because they’re amazing couches, but in the end, we didn’t want to spend another 7k+ on a couch. (I mean, that’s a Disney cruise lol.) We found this one at Macy’s and have been pleasantly surprised by it! It’s the perfect size – it’s huge! – and super comfy. Now the goal is to just try and keep it clean… Fashion + beauty: An updated set of glasses. I’m finally back in contacts – I thought I’d never see the day – and it.has.been.awesome. But, I’m trying to still take it easy on my eyes during the day and will usually wear my glasses when I’m just working from home. My other pair is from Warby Parker, so I grabbed a new pair. This is the Clemens style. Ordered this jumpsuit and can’t wait to it to arrive! Fall Vuori picks! I live in Vuori most days, especially when I’m working at home and then getting in a quick workout. Some of my fave things are these joggers, these hoodies, sweatshirts, these jumpsuits, and these bike shorts. I ordered some new things for fall and love the new colors!
