A professionally designed website can make a significant difference in terms of sales and credibility. A website allows a business to leverage its target audience and also build a strong brand. Besides the cost of developing and designing a website by Web Design Services in Oxford is negligible in comparison to the massive returns it can deliver in the long run. Businesses that still do not have a website should take immediate action to keep up with the competition.

Created the row of fanfic cards! All I had to do was adjust the sizing for the card template because the first one was huge compared to what I wanted! But I am now happy with the results!
🎯 Next up: (1) do a side-quest and make an interactive HTML semantic tags webpage for people learning HTML then (2) the hero section:

Fear Classes
Hello all, Cass here!
We've been making our way through the records we recieved from the East Oxford wardens. Not sure where they found them, but they seem to be mostly tapes, weirdly.
Anywho, skimmed most of them, a couple things came up. Firstly, these all seem to be from an organisation called the Magnus Institute? It was based in London, so its most likely long gone by now, but I might ask August to ask around about it.
Secondly, some of these seem to mention a system for organising these occurances, which they refer to as Smirke's Fourteen. It seems to be named for Robert Smirke, the architect, and supposed creator of the categories (and, funnily enough, the mentor of Charles Robert Cockrell, the designer of Oxford's own Ashmolean museum! How's that for your pub quiz?). These categories, while imperfect, seemed like a good jumping-off point for a catergorisation method of my own! Thats still in the works, but heres the work so far.
Smirke's Fourteen are as follows:
The Buried, the Corruption, the Dark, the Desolation, the End, the Eye, the Flesh, the Hunt, the Lonely, the Slaughter, the Spiral, the Stranger, the Vast, & the Web.
They are rather abitrary, and are not the only names used, but they're simple enough so I've used them in note-taking. They are also not binding, and each category covers a wide range of occurances, seemingly based on the 'type of fear' exhibited in the occurance.
To help visualise the 'types of fear' I encountered, and better understand the system as a whole, I made the below diagram:
(N.B. The Extinction, seen at the top-right of the diagram, was never formally accepted into the list, as there was much debate about whether it was distinct as a class, a epitaph of the End, or whether it existed at all. However, due to subdivisions made within the other fears, I felt it right to include it)
Across the top are not decrete buckets, but a marked scale, to help present the development of one fear into the next as the object of the occurance's capabilities to percieve 'the fear' develop. Base is animalistic, developed is such fears that can be found in more intelligent animals, human is, well, self-descriptive, and philosophical are those developed from humanity's delve into the philosophical world (these tend to be more existential in nature).
Most fears are multiple in nature, and as such can be separated into sub-classes, or epitaphes. I will probably end up naming these later, but we're still pretty swamped.
All in all, I think its a good start. I'm slightly annoyed by the way the Buried just hangs there, but thats life.
If any of you have any observations you might like to add, or additions you would like to make, just drop us a shout and we'll get on it! When we can.
And that's me done! Have a good day, et bon voyage!
-Cass

The people are different versions but still exist in TMAGP and that absolutly is the one thing moving a very specific TMA AU.
Basically besides joining the Institute, Tim gets very into online supernatural foruns trying to find people with similar experiences. So one day he gets a mysterious mensage from someone about the "thing wearing my brother's skin". The e-mail is about a young lady that says something very similar happened to her and her uncle and she has been investigating similar stories since. They chat more and with Sasha advice Tim decides fuck it and meets the woman, both pretend it's a date.
Everything is well until Tim mentions working dor the Magnus Institute, she, who presented herself only by Gwen, pales and goes "oh you're one of them" and leaves after saying "I'm not playing his games. I'm not feeding him." Tim is very confused, he thinks maybe the Institue tried to investigate her case and failed. They are not in the archive yet so he asks Jon and Sasha with help without giving any detail, basically hoping Sasha conection with Gertrude means she has acess to the archives and Jon being way to into spending long nights working will help them sort whatever Sasha finds.
Except Sasha finds nothing. Until a random day were she comes up with a big grim and goes "you guys won't ever be abble to guess what I found out?" and open in a very funky web page advertising Gwendolyn Bouchard, paranormal lawyer. Sasha is laughting, Jon is ranting about what a paranormal lawyer would even be but Tim is like "oh shit, that's her".
He doesn't connect the dots at first. Or doesn't want to. But he keeps thinking about "I'm not feeding him" and he is like "random question what do you guys know about Elias" and Sasha goes research into it.
At this point he and Jon aren't close friends but they are friends and if their boss is one of the things that ate his brother he needs to figure out something. With the assumption Elias is a clown, Tim does actually notice how creepy Elias is with Jon and is fully "Jon won't belive me but Elias is totally into eating his insides or whatever". So he tells the truth to Sasha and tricks Jon into visiting Gwen's lawyer thing for answers.
I still did not figure out most of the other things, except that Alice and Gwen are together in this verse and Alice made the web design for Gwen's page. I also know I want alt Sam and I want just our Celia who keeps almost meeting them but never doing. Or even a Celia that came back and has a dificult time being at her world and interacting with different versions of people that mattered so much to her.
I don't know still what to do with Sam, because I think Martin was very clearly Jonah backup archivist and the thing is Elias will try to convince Jon Gwen is the crazy/evil one and either he'll suceed making Jon betray his friends and be the archivist but with different assistants (except Martin) or he won't and Martin will start as the archivist. And while backup archivist/archival assistant Sam makes sense I'm unsure I want that for him. I'm thinking maybe this version of Sam after failing to get into Oxford went into a "rebelious" phase instead of doubling down in trying to met his parents high expectations and ended up joining Melanie ghost hunting channel. But not sure.
Like if I actually go the route of Celia is back trying to find help for both her worlds a Sam that's not quite the Sam she knows/cares about would be interesting. Like he is deep down the same but also he isn't in some obvious ways and she might just miss her Sam more. But if this is an AU not as connected with Protocol than maybe a Sam that's pretty much our Sam but if he was in Archives would make sense. Idk.
And ofc Basira and Daisy that I'm always partial to but I have no clue how to add, except maybe with them starting as Gwen and Alice rivals because Gwen attorney bussiness interferes with their sectioned police work. Also Gwen being an attorney is a 100% because I fully think she was her normal manipulative rise to the top and keep the Bouchard's name girl and went into law school for it except she mets Alice and by the same period Jonah happens and she was close to Elias (even if in parts was because she looked better in the family eyes when they were together by comparison) and it changed everything.
I don't know a lot about Alice either but she was Lena's college roomate and atended classes with Colin (yes he is here as well, unsure what to do with him tho). She had a paranormal encounter that left a scar similar but in oposition to Georgie's where she has a "spider sense" sort of think and can feel when the fears are involved, she knows if a library or book fair has a Leitner and where for example. It happened when she was young and possibly involved meeting my boy Gerry but she tried to avoid the supernatural ever since. She was very reluctant over helping Gwen except she acidentaly overheard her talking to "Elias" and Jonah messed with her head. More importantly she knows that ignoring sometimes is worse because some secret involving her baby brother who may or may not have joined Grifters Bone and becamed a Slaughter Avatar.
The supernatural lawyer was a joke from Alice but Gwen took it seriusly and Alice was loke "really?" and guess this moron will need help to not die/became an avatar and became her paralegal (tho it had nothing to do with her actual college diploma).
#gwen is not an avatar but she is in the martin situation of almost being web#tma#the magnus archives#tma au#i just want tim and jon to became real friends#and the s1 archival crew to be closer#gwendolyn bouchard#dyehard cause i love them and alice might die before they ever get a chance#dyehard#alice dyer#also elias and peter might have tried to use gwen as their divorce attorney at least once#using the argument they fit the supernatural thing#idk what this au even is#tmagp#the magnus protocol#tim stoker#sasha james#jonathan sims#elias bouchard#celia ripley#sam khalid#most of this is me giving tim someone to relate to and some early answers#but also me messing up with celia because the idea of her just always ending up surrounded by ppl that are almost her ppl but not quite#missing two worlds and afraid she will miss more#everyone around her besides Jack are ghosts of ppl she cared#and being terrifield of conecting and losing again of getting more fragments of ppl that are not quite hers

Summary: A new spiderman has come to join the club from a mysterious universe.
Pairings: Miguel x Black Cat Variant!Reader. Spidersona x Black Cat Variant!Reader
WC: 1.8k
Warnings: nothing yet.
A/N: it is almost 2am and this is my first fanfic in 4 years and first time writing the atsv gang so it’s gonna be rusty. this fic is does not follow all the events of atsv because that be hard to implement with the plot im planning rn. also hobie is like 18/19, but grouped him with the teens bc those numbers have teen in it. thank you for reading.
0 | 1
“Quit staring at him, y’all.” Jessica narrowed her eyes at the curious teens, her voice nearing a hiss. “The man has eyes all over him. Besides, I brought you four as stand-in witnesses from the reports just in case.”
Miles couldn’t see any exposed irises, the unfamiliar spiderman before him was dressed in a two piece suit with shining oxfords, his hands gloved in leather. His long scarf was the only color that wasn’t a dull gray, it was electric blue with a thin, delicate white webbing design. His red hair was tied into a small ponytail. He had his back turned from the group, however, Hobie was bold enough and took a step forward to take a closer look.
“You gotta name, mate?” Hobie crossed his arms, and there was a moment of silence before he finally turned around.
The spiderman had a black face mask, exposing his ragged scar that ran through his left eye and continued under the cloth. It was closed shut compared to the right’s sharp green. There was an insignia of a spider pinned to his coat- someone should have told him that a spider suit wasn’t something formal.
“He’s actually a cyclops, Jess.” Pav whispered. Jessica rolled her eyes while the other teenagers snickered. The spiderman let out an amused huff at their hushed comments about his appearance.
“Kids.” Jessica nervously chuckled. “Sorry about them. Miguel should be here after his mission.”
“No worries. Afterall, I didn’t give a proper introduction.” The Spiderman’s voice was a perfect blend between gentle and raspy, there was a hint of a Scottish accent in that sentence somewhere.
He started at the beginning. Calan Wesson Parker was his name. He was born in New Zohei and he was bound to an Arachne Pact by an earth deity. And for the last seven years, he was known as the one and only-
“Arachne Pact?” Gwen repeated.
“Earth deity?” Miles followed.
“Seven years ago?” Pavitr’s face soured.
“I hate organized religion.” Hobie said flatly. Jessica was mentally begging Miguel to come back.
Calan blinked before finishing. “Spiderman. As you all would say here.”
The teenagers, aside from Hobie, began to surround him with other questions. How’d he get his scar? Why doesn’t he cover his eyes? How does he fight in a suit and expensive shoes? What’s an arachne pact? Does he actually have extra eyes somewhere? Calan could only look onward with silence as the topics began to shift between Calan’s broad background, to religion, and finally, video games. Even Jessica couldn’t tell what was happening and how the conversation went overboard. This was a strange place, a strange time, and strange people that were supposed to be like Calan. Jessica had found him in his dimension, already restraining an anomaly she was supposed to capture. It happened three times when she visited for missions, and the other spider people who were assigned work for that universe reported Calan immediately handing away anomalies to them. Impressed, she decided to invite him to the Spider society. After some hesitation, he followed.
“You’re already handling them well, from the looks of it. You got kids of your own?” Jessica asked.
Calan let out an acknowledged grunt but he refused to answer the question, like the other questions the three kids threw at him. His stare was blank, the dimming lights of several open screens around the office couldn’t even put a glint on his eye.
“That was a close one!” A familiar AI zipped down the walkway, activating the computers on the rising platform. “Hey guys! Glad you came early.”
“Hey Lyla. Where’s Miguel? I brought that new spiderman that’ll definitely help out.” Jessica glanced at Calan, who studied the glitching woman and the floating screens.
“He’s coming alright. After yelling at some spider people. The anomaly just blipped out of existence again after wrecking half the city.” Lyla shrugged. Calan furrowed his brow at the comment.
It wasn’t long until the doors slid open, followed by heavy footsteps. Curses of Spanish became more evident, and soon, the group parted to make way for the man himself. Everything fell silent with only the ambience of activated devices and blips; it seemed right to keep quiet to not rile him up further. Up above, Miguel quickly reviewed multiple tabs of what seemed to be Calan’s canon events. Below, the group could barely see the screens from afar, but what was certain was that there was one tab dedicated to looking at Miguel’s late daughter.
“That’s weird. Why does this just cut to black? Actually, why are all of them cut like that?” Lyla had to scan through the events several times over. Miguel watched as the hologram went through every event: the canons were in order after all, but there was something about the presentation that wasn’t like everyone else’s. He heaved a sigh, slicking back his brown hair- it’s a minor issue. However, something else had to be addressed.
“Calan.” His voice echoed, his glower focused on the other’s upward glare. The rest of the group hoped it wasn’t something critical- Miles and Hobie had a rough introduction to Miguel when they joined the spider society. Jessica hoped Miguel didn’t reject the Calan outright, otherwise webs would start flying.
“We noticed a pattern of anomalies appearing and disappearing, and then popping up in your universe. You know anything about this?” Miguel asked.
“That is a mystery to me as well.” Calan replied. “I’ve yet to hear from the Gods.”
The answer confused everyone, especially with how serious that sounded. Did he ask about the anomalies as if he prayed every morning and before meals about it or? Miguel visibly didn’t like that kind of answer- however, it implied focusing on one reality rather than going through thousands of other dimensions to capture multiple anomalies. From the looks of Calan’s canon, it was plausible, it was an optimal answer as of now.
The silence made time drag.
“Just say that he’s recruited.” Jessica had her arms crossed, her fingers tapping. Miguel let out a ‘yeah, yeah’ before tossing a dimensional travel watch. It seems that he would have to look more into that universe later. Calan caught it with ease, observing the glowing letters and buttons. He put it just above his analog watch which weirded out the teenagers.
“Leave. Go give him a tour or something. I have to plan this mission so we can finish it as soon as possible.” Miguel returned his focus to the other screens, pulling up other tabs with his hologram working alongside him.
When the group left the office, a weight was lifted from all of their shoulders. Hobie commented something about the old man doing something right for once.
“Y’all heard him. You can give Calan a tour of the building,” Jessica could tell that the four kids would enjoy the simple task before the mission by how they straightened up.
“What about you?” Miles gave a yawn as if he just stood through the longest five minute talk of his life.
“Paperwork’s not gonna do themselves.” Jessica waved them all goodbye before walking away. As the five of them walked down the open hall, the teens tried to initiate a conversation with Calan, but they only got short answers or even silence on anything they wanted clarification on.
“You don’t talk much, do you?” Gwen looked up at him, trying to meet his gaze- he only looked forward, shaking his head. “And what’s that in your hands?”
“A key?” Pavitr watched as Calan’s gloved hands twirled around a long, iron key with a braided skeleton bow.
“Treasure chest key.” Miles said, and Calan gave a small chuckle. Miles grinned widely at his correct answer.
“Now tell us what it’s for.” Hobie nudged the man. Calan considered, finally meeting the gazes of the four with his tired green eye. Their eyes were wide and bright, something that reminded him of a certain someone back at home. He would give in just this one time.
“Preventing someone from taking my things.” Calan said. The vague answer prompted the four to give out an exasperated groan. Maybe this place, the time, and the people wouldn’t be so strange later.
Meanwhile in New Zohei…
(Y/n) pushed the treasure chest over, using her steel claws to saw through the enchanted wood as soon as she realized there was a lock on the chest. The wooden board fell, spilling glittering contents that caused the woman to bounce in excitement.
“So pretty…” Her (e/c) eyes sparkled at the gold, silver, and gem studded jewelry that fell out from the hole. She gently sorted out a portion of the pile: cute necklaces here, flashy bracelets over there, rings- oh no, she has plenty of rings already.
“This one!” She held out a ruby necklace towards several accomplices-turned-victims who were bound in cables, leaning against the wall. “I’ll take only this one.”
They gave out frustrated muffles through their gags, writhing in their restraints. One of them toppled over to the floor.
“You’re right. I should take some more. I did do a good job this morning fighting off Professor Ceph like what Spidey said.” (Y/n) giggled at the sight of the group protesting louder, another person trying to slither his way over to the chest. She placed her boot on his side, using light force to roll him back to the wall. The tied up criminals were steaming with rage. They let their guard down the moment they stepped in Spiderman’s office and saw the chest beside his desk, and (Y/n) immediately went to work solo. They should have known better than to recruit a renowned underground thief into their band.
“Hm. Maybe I’ll leave a note for Spidey when he comes back.” (Y/n) went over to the desk, taking out a pen and paper from the drawer. She tapped the end of the pen on the corner of her lip for a moment before scribbling something and planting a kiss on the corner of the parchment. The sounds of sirens were creeping from the outside.
“Sounds like my time to leave.” She put down the letter and grabbed a handful of necklaces and bracelets letting them hang around her wrists. (Y/n) pushed the window open, hopping onto the ledge. She took in the fresh scent of the night, allowing the breeze to brush back her (h/c) hair. The sirens were getting louder, and she looked down to see if she had a clear landing spot. Check.
“Wait a minute-” (Y/n) pulled herself back, quickly walking over to the restrained criminals who were growling and glaring at her with murderous intent. She took a folding hand fan from one of the girls, who began to let out a muffled screech as she flailed pathetically on the floor. (Y/n) then went over to one of the men, striking him with the accessory. It left a gash just under his eye, tearing through the cloth that kept him from speaking. He screamed in pain, pressing his face against the wall to lessen the sting.
“Come back here, cat!”
She didn’t have to say anything back- it was for grabbing at her in public and making fun of her spidey. Afterall, there was only one person who was allowed to do that, but he wasn’t even in his own home, or anywhere either after a week of searching. (Y/n) leaped out of the window, the darkness encapsulating her figure and her treasures as she ran away. It was an open and shut case for the police when they arrived and arrested the criminals. They had ignored the note on the desk as it blended in with the other papers and books that were sprawled across the surface.
Spidey!
I just got my nails done and wanted to see if they worked. You should also clean up your office and hide your stuff better.
From your favorite black cat

Daniel Dennett
Controversial US philosopher who sought to understand and explain the science of the mind
Daniel Dennett, who has died aged 82, was a controversial philosopher whose writing on consciousness, artificial intelligence, cognitive science and evolutionary psychology helped shift Anglo-American philosophy from its focus on language and concepts towards a coalition with science.
His naturalistic account of consciousness, purged as far as possible of first-person agency and qualitative experience, has been popular outside academia and hotly opposed by many within it.
One of the so-called Four Horsemen of New Atheism, along with Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens and Sam Harris, he also wrote on Darwinism, memes, free will and religion.
“Figuring out as a philosopher how brains could be, or support, or explain, or cause, minds” was how Dennett, aged 21, defined his project. Having gained a philosophy degree at Harvard University in 1963, he was then doing a BPhil at Oxford University under the behaviourist philosopher Gilbert Ryle, but spent most of his time in the Radcliffe science library learning about the brain.
Many philosophers were (as they still are) trying to accommodate the mind, and its subjectivity, in third-person science. Yet it seems impossible to identify “intentionality” (the “aboutness” of thoughts) or “qualia” (the “thusnesses” of experience) as nothing but brain states or behaviour.
In dealing with “intentionality”, Dennett, however, had a novel strategy – “first content, then consciousness” – that reversed the usual line of enquiry. He proposed “to understand how consciousness is possible by understanding how unconscious content is possible first”.
Nature, he argued, has its own unwitting reasons – “free-floating rationales” that are “independent of, and more fundamental than, consciousness”. The ability of organisms to respond appropriately, if unconsciously, to things in the environment is a “rudimentary intentionality”. And, over aeons, the “blind, foresightless, purposeless process of trial and error” has knitted “the mechanical responses of ‘stupid’ neurons” (in certain creatures’ brains) into a “reflective loop [that] creates the manifest illusion of consciousness,” he thought. “Mind is the effect, not the cause.” As spiders mindlessly spin webs, homo sapiens has spun “a narrative self”.
What Ryle had dismissed as “the ghost in the machine” could thus be exorcised, not by denying its existence but by seeing it for what it is – a conjuring trick rather than magic, an illusion fabricated by what (in his 1995 book Darwin’s Dangerous Idea) he called evolution’s “reverse engineering”.
Dennett’s first book, Content and Consciousness was published in 1969. Sixteen other books and numerous papers adapted and extended its thesis – that intentionality can be ascribed, along a spectrum with no clear dividing line, impartially to minds, human brains, bees, computers, thermostats: it is a functional relation between object and environment. As to exactly when, in evolutionary or personal history, conscious intentionality arose, “don’t ask,” he said.
We can take what he called a “physical stance” towards something (considering its constituents and their causal interlockings) or a “design stance” (seeing it as fabricated, by evolution or humans, to serve a particular function) or an “intentional stance” (explaining its behaviour in terms of goals that it would sensibly pursue if it were rational).
“The intentional stance is thus a theory-neutral way of capturing the cognitive competences of different organisms (or other agents) without committing the investigator to overspecific hypotheses about the internal structures that underlie the competences.” We treat chess-playing computers, some animals and humans, as if they had beliefs and desires. But, he was furiously asked, don’t we humans actually have them?
Yes and no, apparently. There is no one-to-one match between brain states and mental states. It is the creature as a whole that has intentionality. The discrete individually identifiable mental states that we seem to be having are (in reality) “an edited and metaphorialised version of what’s going on in our brains” – equivalent to “user illusions” on a computer screen: like the hourglass, folder and dustbin icons, they betoken the complex processes occurring behind the scenes.
“No part of the brain is the thinker that does the thinking, or the feeler that does the feeling,” said Dennett, nor is, or does, the brain as a whole. Instead there are “multiple channels in which specialist circuits try, in parallel pandemoniums, to do their various things, creating multiple drafts as they go” – until, from among “concurrent contentful events in the brain … a select subset of such events ‘wins’ … The way to explain the miraculous-seeming powers of an intelligent intentional system is to decompose it into hierarchically structured teams.” These consist of “relatively ignorant, narrow-minded, blind homunculi that produce the intelligent behaviour of the whole”.
“Yes we have a soul but it’s made of lots of tiny robots” was the headline of an article about him in the Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera, and Dennett endorsed it with amusement. He loved making furniture, building fences, mending roofs, tinkering with cars and boats; and, among the many things he constructed were sets of nested Russian dolls to illustrate his philosophy. The outside doll was “Descartes”; inside that was “the Middle Ghost” (a reference to Ryle’s) – but inside that was a “Robot”. “We are not authorities about our own consciousness,” he said. The robot is masked by the ghost.
Dennett pronounced qualia to be illusions. Ever since Descartes, we have tended to assume that we have “mental images”, as if, said Dennett, we could view little pictures, visible only to ourselves in an inner “Cartesian theatre”.
If so, we should be able to count the number of stripes on the tiger we are imagining, and say whether we have been seeing it face-on or sideways. No such definite information is available. Mental images are indeterminate in a way that pictures cannot be, and closer to generalised linguistic descriptions. So limited and poor is our access to our own conscious experiences, said Dennett, that it “does not differ much from the access another person can have to those experiences – your experiences – if you decide to go public with your account”. Indeed “our first-person point of view of our own minds is not so different from our second-person point of view of others’ minds”. We take an intentional stance on ourselves.
Dennett’s views remained pretty consistent throughout numerous books and papers, but in recent years he became more lenient towards mental imagery. He was impressed by neuroscientific research suggesting that there are specific observable brain activities that potentially may be decoded as imaging processes.
And, having been stern in denying what is disparagingly called “folk psychology” (a term he invented), he began to describe himself as “a mild realist” about mental states, prepared to concede that “the traditional psychological perspective” is not merely something described by third-person observers.
Avoiding accusations that he smuggled in the subjectivity he so adamantly denied, Dennett had recourse to “memes”, a concept (invented by Dawkins) modelled on that of genes. Memes are units of cultural practice, including anything from language to drama to wearing a baseball cap backwards to clapping as a form of praise. They are, in Dennett’s words, ‘“prescriptions” for ways of doing things that can be transmitted to, and from, human brains, and that “have their own reproductive fitness, just like viruses”. We are infected by memes, and it is “the memes invasion … that has turned our brains into minds”.
Dennett also applied a Darwinian approach to free will. “A billion years ago, there was no free will on this planet, but now there is. The physics has not changed; the improvements in ‘can do’ over the years had to evolve.” We are now able to predict probable futures, and to pursue or avert them. We are not deluded about having that capacity; as we are, he fulminated, about religion. Breaking the Spell (2006) was judiciously named. That was what he was urging religious people to do.
Born in Boston, Dennett spent the first five years of his life in Lebanon. His father, also Daniel, was a counter-intelligence officer posing as a cultural attache to the American embassy in Beirut. He died in a plane crash in 1947 (later, Dennett’s sister, the investigative journalist Charlotte Dennett, would claim Kim Philby’s connivance in it). Dennett’s mother, Ruth Leck, a teacher and editor, took the children back to Massachusetts.
Reprieved from matching up to his father’s expectations, Dennett said, he nonetheless grew up in his father’s shadow. But little could sap his exuberant self-confidence. Characteristically, the title of his 1991 book was Consciousness Explained.
In 1959, having just begun a maths degree at Weslyan University, Connecticut, Dennett read Willard van Orman Quine’s From a Logical Point of View. He was so excited that he decided “to be a philosopher, and go to Harvard and tell this man Quine why he is wrong”. The first two he managed, though for a time he worried that Quine (later a great friend) was more interested by Dennett’s sculpture than his philosophising.
Dennett did contemplate being a sculptor, and would, he said, certainly have studied engineering had his family not been so arts-oriented. Co-director of the Center for Cognitive Studies at Tufts University in Massachusetts, in 1993 he joined the Humanoid Robotics Group at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to construct a robot (Cog) that would be not only intelligent but conscious. The project ended in 2003, and Cog was retired to a museum.
Dennett was Austin B Fletcher professor of philosophy at Tufts, and visiting professor at a host of other universities, including Oxford and the London School of Economics. His memoir, I’ve Been Thinking, was published in 2023.
He and his wife, Susan (nee Bell), whom he married in 1962, lived in North Andover, Massachusetts, and he also hobby farmed in Maine for more than 40 summers, blissfully “tillosophising” on a tractor, sailing his boat Xanthippe, fixing buildings and digging drains. Dennett loved solving puzzles and disinterring the inner workings of machines – above all those of “the miraculous-seeming” mind. “No miracles allowed,” he said.
He is survived by Susan, a daughter, Andrea, and son, Peter, and six grandchildren, and his sisters, Cynthia and Charlotte.

— ꣼ 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑡𝑎𝑙𝑒𝑠 𝑜𝑓 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑏𝑙𝑎𝑐𝑘 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝑤ℎ𝑖𝑡𝑒 𝑠𝑤𝑎𝑛.
chapter. 06. A new era.
Kaeleena was born a few minutes after her twin, Gaya, the records say. Both grew up as orphans in the all girls orphanage The Swans of Misericorde, in Buckinghamshire in the United Kingdom. The orphanage, bathed in religious beliefs, aimed to raise and shape girls, considering them promising of a bright future, calling them gifted, chosen ones. Once they have completed their educations, they are sent to power families in order for the hidden faces behind the orphanage to establish a web accross the world. Each country, each powerful family has a Swan. Gaya was sent to Seoul Korea in the Kang family, posing as the daughter of the Minister of Justice and future member of the government. As for Kaeleena, she stayed, separated from her Gaya and the other swans. Kaeleena was different, silent, observent, gilfted of an intellect above her sisters. This one... Never let her go. Would say their Mother Supreme, Libitina.

After graduation, Kaeleena is sent to Oxford to pursue her education in medicine. Excelling, she becomes a neuro surgeon, neuro specialist, reknown and admired. Her lectures and conferences are fought over to simply have the chance to attend, a conversation with her is highly praised. Brilliant, one of the erudit of her generations as many of her researches on the human brain as been inspiring for the neurosciences communitee. Her smile, her eloquence, the softness of her voice however hides the loss of humanity as day by day she goes furthur, succesfully developping what she calls The Rebirth, for human to transcend itself. As Libitina chooses Kaeleena as her successor as Mother Supreme, Kaeleena's day has come, to use the House of Misericorde to do better and embrace her dreams of Rebirth.

The world is evolving with new pathways opening up. The convergence of the human brain and technology is on the rise, blurring the lines between human and machine. transhumanism/ Kaeleena sees this as an opportunity and prioritizes the alliance between the House of Misericorde and Transhumanist Laboratories, place where are modified and enhanced human cognition and bodily function, expanding abilities and capacities beyond current biological constraints.. Renowned for her expertise, she frequently contributes to designing brain maps and performing brain surgery in case of damage for what they create in these laboratories : groundbreaking weapons.

Not fully done as I need to work on hover effect to work as I want to! But will get that done later, so right now, it's anime time :)
