Benefits Of Taking The Time To Choose the BEST Travel Bag.
Travelling is an exciting and enriching experience that opens us up to new cultures, landscapes, and adventures. Whether you are embarking on a short weekend getaway or a long-haul international trip, one essential aspect that can significantly impact your journey is the choice of the travel bag. Investing time in selecting the best travelling luggage bags in Sri Lanka for your needs can bring forth a plethora of benefits that will enhance your travel experience in numerous ways. In this article, we delve into the advantages of taking the time to choose the best travel luggage in Sri Lanka.
Comfort and convenience.
One of the primary benefits of opting for the best travel bags in Sri Lanka is the comfort and convenience it provides. Sri Lanka travelling often involves navigating through airports, train stations, and crowded city streets, which can be physically demanding. A well-designed bag with ergonomic features, such as padded shoulder straps, adjustable handles, and back support, can significantly reduce the strain on your body during long walks or while carrying your belongings for extended periods. It allows you to maintain good posture and alleviate discomfort, making your experience more enjoyable and less taxing on your body.
Versatility and adaptability.
The best travel bags online are often versatile and adaptable, accommodating various styles and situations. Whether you are backpacking through remote areas, exploring metropolitan cities, or going on a leisurely vacation, a thoughtfully chosen bag can cater to different scenarios. For instance, a convertible backpack that can transform from a traditional backpack to a duffel bag or even a rolling suitcase offers flexibility as your requirements change. This adaptability allows you to seamlessly transition between different modes of transportation and diverse activities, ensuring you are well-prepared for any adventure that comes your way.
Durability and longevity.
Quality bags are built to withstand the rigours of voyage. When you invest in a durable bag made from high-quality materials and reinforced stitching, you can rest assured that it can handle rough handling by baggage handlers, exposure to different weather conditions, and constant packing and unpacking without showing signs of wear and tear. A well-constructed bag will accompany you on numerous journeys, becoming a reliable companion for your adventures over the years. Choosing a bag with a trusted warranty further adds to its longevity, as reputable brands often stand by their products and offer repair or replacement services in case of any defects.
Security and Protection.
When you are on the road, the security of your belongings becomes paramount. The best bags come equipped with advanced security features that provide peace of mind during your journeys. Lockable zippers, RFID-blocking pockets, and slash-resistant materials are some of the security measures incorporated into modern bags to safeguard your valuables from theft and unauthorised access. Additionally, specialised padding and protective compartments can shield delicate items like laptops, cameras, and electronic devices from accidental damage during transit. Knowing that your belongings are safe and protected allows you to focus on enjoying your journey without worrying about potential theft or damage.
Efficient Packing and Space utilisation.
Packing efficiently is an art, and the right bag can make a significant difference. Many high-quality bags are designed with ingenious packing systems that maximise space utilisation. They may include compression straps, dividers, and packing cubes, enabling you to neatly organise your belongings and fit more into a compact space. Efficient packing not only saves time but also prevents overpacking, which can lead to excess baggage fees and unnecessary hassle. With a well-organised bag, you can easily locate items without having to rummage through your belongings, streamlining your experience and reducing stress.
Lightweight Travel Experience.
Travelling with heavy luggage can quickly become a burden, hampering your mobility and overall experience. Opting for a lightweight yet sturdy bag allows you to carry more essentials without adding excessive weight to your shoulders or back. Lightweight bags are particularly beneficial for those who prefer to trek with carry-on luggage only, avoiding the need to check bags and reducing the risk of lost luggage. Moreover, lightweight bags are easier to lift and manoeuvre, making your journey through airports or up staircases much more manageable.
Reflecting Personal Style.
Travel bags come in a myriad of designs, styles, and colours. Choosing the best bag lets you reflect your personal style and preferences. Whether you prefer a sleek and minimalist design, a rugged outdoor backpack, or an elegant leather duffel, the bag you choose becomes an extension of your personality and adds a touch of flair to your ensemble. Expressing your style through your bag allows you to feel more confident and comfortable during your journeys, enhancing your overall experience.
Sustainable Travel Choice.
Sustainability and environmental consciousness are becoming increasingly important in the world of travel. Many manufacturers are now producing eco-friendly and sustainable bags using recycled materials or ethically sourced fabrics. By selecting a bag from such brands, you can contribute to reducing your carbon footprint and promoting responsible travel. Additionally, choosing a durable and long-lasting bag reduces the need for frequent replacements, which ultimately reduces waste and the demand for new products.
Cost-Effectiveness.
While investing in a high-quality bag may require a slightly higher upfront cost, it can prove to be a cost-effective choice in the long run. Cheaper, lower-quality bags may wear out quickly, leading to frequent replacements that accumulate expenses over time. On the other hand, a well-chosen, durable bag is an investment that serves you well for years, saving you money on replacements and repairs. Furthermore, some premium bags offer added features and functionalities that can eliminate the need for additional accessories, such as packing cubes or locks, saving you money in the long term.
In conclusion, the benefits of taking the time to choose the best bag are multifaceted and far-reaching. A well-chosen bag provides comfort, convenience, and adaptability, ensuring that you can navigate your journeys with ease and style. Its durability and security features protect your belongings, offering peace of mind during your adventures. Moreover, efficient packing and lightweight designs enhance your experience, making your trips more enjoyable and hassle-free.
When choosing a bag, it is essential to assess your specific needs, preferences, and the types of journeys you undertake. By investing in a quality bag that aligns with your requirements, you set the foundation for a more comfortable, organised, and memorable experience, allowing you to focus on the joy of exploring new destinations and creating cherished memories along the way. Whether you are a frequent explorer or an occasional adventurer, a well-considered bag becomes an indispensable companion on your journey, making every trip a seamless and delightful experience.

Series
Miss Dial (s) by @versigny ⊹₊⋆ [11:31] You: okay so i’m texting you now like I promised instead of drunktexting yoongi and telling him how badly i want his cock tonight. Arent you proud?
[11:32] unknown number: this is yoongi, hi
Please Be Naked (a f s) (ft. namjoon) by @floralseokjin ⊹₊⋆ Recently heartbroken, it feels like you’ll never be able to get over it. But a chance encounter with a guy you haven’t seen in months changes everything…
One Shots
want a taste? (f s) by @suga-kookiemonster ⊹₊⋆ pretzel pro. most skillful tongue in the food court world. allegedly. that’s what yoongi keeps telling you, anyway. of course, you’re reasonably skeptical of his claims—but if there’s one thing that motivates the notoriously-lethargic man, it’s proving skeptics wrong.
take care of you (f s) by @kookslastbutton ⊹₊⋆ To keep your fiance from burning out you suggest a weekend getaway to Gapyeong, a charming town about an hour outside Seoul. You've specifically asked him to leave his work equipment at home but like a deep rooted habit, he still brings it with him. You're left with no choice but to find a way to get his attention back.
You Broke Me (f) by @7ndipity ⊹₊⋆ Just clingy, fluffy Yoongi after Reader comes home after a month-long trip
Shy (s) by @7ndipity ⊹₊⋆ You’re desperately craving your boyfriend's attention, but are too shy to ask for it outright. Luckily, Yoongi knows what you want anyway.
Sweet Spot (s f) by @cultleaderyoongi ⊹₊⋆ Three months into dating, Yoongi ponders what the perfect scenario for a love confession would be. There's no manual stating when and where and how is appropriate. It's only convenient when his body reacts faster than his brain, doing the job for him.
Eargasm (s) by @lavishedinjimin ⊹₊⋆ The idea of having your first ever orgasm by talking to a hot, random stranger through your phone scares the living hell out of you, but maybe it won’t be as bad as you think.
F*ck Christmas (a f s) by @sailoryooons ⊹₊⋆ Making hating Christmas your entire personality was never the plan. Then again, it seems bad things only ever happen around Christmas - like discovering your fiancé cheating on you, forcing you to move back to your sleepy hometown. But Min Yoongi happens to love Christmas, and if there is one thing your very stubborn childhood crush is going to do, it’s try to reignite your Christmas spirit. Even if he has to force-feed it to you with gingerbread cookies and too-sweet eggnog.
Workaholic (s) by @hobiwonder ⊹₊⋆ Yoongi needs to relax and Hoseok has many tricks up his sleeve to make him. None of them Yoongi thought included hiring a hooker to pay him a visit one stormy night. You were only trying to escape a crazed man chasing you down on a stormy night. Never was your intention to end up in an attractive man’s house. Definitely not one who thought you were a hooker.
Backtrack (s) (ft. jimin) by @mapofthesea ⊹₊⋆ There’s no telling just how long you'd been stuck in the windowless studio, and you’re just about ready to walk out and forfeit your paycheck for the week, until your bosses strike up an interesting bargain.
the pink pill (s) by @dollfaceksj ⊹₊⋆ In each of these universes, you find yourself consuming what is known as the pink pill. This pill is essentially a drug that enhances your libido to the max and you’ll quite literally never experience arousal like you do when you’ve taken this pill. Thankfully, in each universe, there’s a man that’s ready to help you explore and reach your peak of sexual euphoria.
all night (s) (ft. namjoon) by @axigailxo ⊹₊⋆ in which listening to music during a smoke sesh with your best friends namjoon and yoongi in the studio turns into much more

ok well to help break the writers block, other occasions Joe’s brain broke:
- when he accompanied her as she tried on clothes
- when he watched one of her lectures at a dermatology conference
- when she drank from a straw.
- when she held a baby
- when she wore one of his old LSU shirts
- when he walked into the home gym to find her doing yoga
picked out a few of these <3

Most men would have tapped out of the shopping trip by now, but Joe wasn't like most men. When she booked her dermatology conference, Joe not only suggested she make a trip out to the mall, but insisted on tagging along. And so here he was, sitting just outside of her fitting room, his eyes glued to the curtain's edge.
She stepped out hesitantly, feet adorned in the heels she planned to wear for the second day of the conference. Grey trousers hugged her hips like a second skin, flaring slightly from her knees and over her heels. He leaned in closer, his eyes tracing the line of the fabric down to her ankles. "Those are perfect," he murmured, his voice low and warm.
She turned in the mirror, observing the fit from every angle. "They're a little snug around the thighs," she noted, tugging at the fabric. "I should probably size up, right?"
Joe took a moment to collect his thoughts, his gaze lingering on the way the pants cupped her ass. "Keep these for me," he said finally, his voice thick with desire. "Get the larger size for the conference, but these…these are for later."
She rolled her eyes playfully. "If you say so." She stepped back into the fitting room, leaving Joe to his thoughts. He leaned back against the wall, trying to ignore the heat creeping up his neck. The mall's air conditioning was cranked up high, but he couldn't shake the warmth that had nothing to do with the temperature. He was lost in a fantasy of peeling those trousers off her, his hands sliding over her smooth skin, that lace set he loved so much under-
"Joe!" she called out, interrupting his daydream.
He snapped back to reality, his heart racing. "Yeah, babe?"
"Can you ask them for these pants in the next size up?" Her hand peeked out of the curtains, said pants dangling from her fingertips.
"Sure," Joe nodded, taking the garment from her hand with a reluctant sigh.

"Oh, he's so tiny!" she cooed, her eyes lighting up as she cradled the newborn in her arms. Her friend, a first-time Mom with a tired but blissful smile, watched with a knowing look as Joe sat beside her. His arm found its place behind her, resting over the sofa's plush cushions.
Joe couldn't help but feel a strange mix of emotions. He studied the baby's delicate features, the tiny fingers that curled around her thumb, and the way her brown skin seemed to glow under the soft light of the living room. His own hand hovered over hers, unsure if he should touch the baby. He'd always thought that babies were a commitment that came with too much responsibility and little payoff. But seeing her, so at ease and filled with joy, stirred something within him that was unfamiliar.
The baby's eyes fluttered open, and Joe took a sharp breath. They were a deep, cinnamon brown, just like hers. She looked up and caught his gaze, her smile widening. "Hold him," she urged gently, passing the bundle over to him. Joe took the baby tentatively, his large hands dwarfing the tiny body. The baby squirmed a bit, but Joe held on tightly, feeling the warmth and weight of new life in his arms. The room seemed to hush around them as he studied the little face that looked up at him with curiosity.
Her friend chuckled from her seat, the exhaustion in her voice belying her amusement. "You're a natural," she teased. "Both of you."

"Damn," she hissed under her breath, her eyes scanning the unfamiliar terrain of Joe's bathroom. She had been so excited about this weekend getaway, eager to escape the draining pace of her residency in Cleveland, that she had overlooked more than a couple of essentials.
Joe's knock on the door was tentative. "You okay?"
She poked her head out of the steam-filled bathroom, her bottom lip pulled between her teeth. "Yeah, I'm good. Just forgot to pack something to sleep in."
Joe's eyes darted to the suitcase by the door, his expression a mix of confusion and amusement. "Take whatever you want from my drawers," he said, gesturing to the walk-in closet. "I'm pretty sure I have something that'll fit."
She stepped into the closet, feeling the plush carpet beneath her bare feet. She rummaged through the neatly folded clothes, her fingers grazing over the fabric until they found a familiar softness - one of his old LSU Football shirts. She pulled it over her head, trading the towel covering her torso for the oversized t-shirt. The material smelled faintly of Joe's cologne, a scent that made her stomach flutter with warmth. The shirt hung down to her mid-thigh, swamping her in a wash of purple.
When she emerged from the bathroom, Joe was already under the covers, scrolling through his phone. He looked up, and his eyes took a moment to register the sight of her in his shirt before his eyebrows shot up. Her legs carried her to the open side of the bed, the fabric of her underwear peeking out from under the hem.
"Comfy?" he asked, a smile playing at the corner of his lips as he took in the sight of her. She snuggled into the warmth of the bed, the coolness of the sheets contrasting with the heat radiating from Joe's body. Her head found its place on his chest, his arm draping over her back to rest his hand on her waist.
"Very, thank you," she replied with a soft laugh, breathing in his scent.
"You're welcome," he murmured, lowering his head to kiss her. "You should keep it. It looks good on you."

cruelty - billy butcher x reader
༺༻∞ ✧༺༻∞ ✧༺༻∞ ✧༺༻

details: butcher is being a real ass, so you decide to run away for a bit <3
༺༻∞ ✧༺༻∞ ✧༺༻∞ ✧༺༻
"Well, if ya' tried putting effort into any of these missions, then the rest of us wouldn't have to carry you around like dead weight."
Butcher's words hung in the air before piercing me. I met his gaze, waiting to see if he'd display even a tiny ounce of regret, but his face remained stoic, and his eyes bore into mine unapologetically.
No one said anything, and a tense silence encompassed the group. Everyone was waiting to see if I had a rebuttal to defend myself against Butcher's harsh accusation.
But I had nothing to say. For weeks, Butcher had been unusually nasty towards me, a complete switch from our old dynamic. Instead of his praise that I'd grown used to, he'd hurl nothing but criticism and bitter insults my way. And what made it worse was that he was charming to everyone else. Well, as charming as Butcher was capable of being.
The whole situation was disheartening and confusing because he and I used to be quite close. Yes, we had a significant age gap between us. But those years didn't hinder our ability to connect over our love of bizarre humor and sarcasm.
The rest of the boys assumed that we had had some misunderstanding or disagreement, but nothing of the sort had transpired. I had tried approaching Butcher to coax the reasoning for his cruelty out of him, but he brushed me off, refusing to give me the time of day.
But today was the last straw. I refused to linger any longer in an environment where I wasn't wanted or appreciated. Wordlessly and full of resolve, I turned on my heel and headed for the comfort of my room.
"Kid, wait," MM called, trying to fix the situation, but it was useless. I slammed my bedroom door behind me and slowly sank to the floor.
I didn't bother stopping my tears as they shamefully slid down my face. Through my blurred vision, I pulled out my phone and composed a text to an old friend.
Me:
Hey, do you still need help this weekend?
I used to be a drug dealer and ran in various questionable circles to support myself before I joined The Boys. But I still had friends from my former life that I kept in touch with, and every once in a while, I'd dip my toe back into the drug scene when they needed help with an extra burdensome deal. And right now, I was desperate for any excuse to get out of here.
Alex:
Have you changed your mind about joining?
Me:
Yeah, I have. It's an out-of-town one, right?
Alex:
Yup. We'll be gone for at least three days, so pack a bag. And you can crash here tonight because we have to head out early in the morning.
Grateful for the impromptu getaway, I packed my small duffle bag with my spare pair of black jeans, sweaters since it was getting cold outside, and other essentials like face wash and my phone charger.
Considering it was just past midnight, I didn't have to wait long before I heard the guys mumble goodnight to each other from the other side of my door before they all retreated to their respective rooms.
I waited five minutes to be safe before opening my door and peering out. The common room in our bunker under the pawn shop was empty, and I took it as an opportunity to sneak out. I tiptoed up the old wooden stairs and breathed a sigh of relief after bolting through the old store and out the door, letting the chilly New York air blow across my face.
The walk to Alex's apartment was short because I was already close to that side of town. And I arrived soon enough with my duffle bag in tow.
"You look like shit," Alex said, opening their apartment door and quickly letting me in.
"Well, hello to you too."
Alex snorted as they pulled me in for a hug before directing me towards the couch I would be sleeping on that night.
"Don't let the bed bugs bite!" They called, heading into their room to rest for the night.
I dumped my bag on the floor and fell onto the couch. It squeaked loudly in protest, and I felt several springs dig into my spine. But I wasn't complaining. Anything was better than sharing a wall with Butcher, knowing the hate he now carried for me. Besides, he snored terribly loud, which the entire group complained about daily.
After some extensive tossing and turning, I fell into a fitful sleep.

"Rise and shine, motherfucker!" Alex yelled.
I jerked awake before immediately falling onto the floor. The decades-old carpet did little to cushion the blow, and I groaned loudly as my head throbbed in protest.
I peered up at Alex from my place on the floor and saw them holding two coffee cups. "Want some?"
"Yes, please." I rose gingery before sitting back on the sofa and accepting one of the steaming mugs. I took a small sip and nodded thanks to my friend.
"We need to get on the road in twenty minutes because our first client expects us to arrive at eight tonight. And I don’t want to be late so we can make a good first impression."
"I think the eighteen pounds of coke you're selling them should help win their approval," I said, taking an enormous gulp of the caffeinated beverage.
"Speaking of coke, I need you to help load it into the car. Come on."
༺༻
"You gonna answer that?" Alex asked from the driver's seat on our way to Bardstown, Kentucky.
"No. It's probably just spam."
Alex glanced from the road ahead to give me a knowing look. "I don't think any spam caller would ever waste their time calling the same person two hundred times."
"It's not my fault they're dedicated to their job," I mumbled.
My friend chuckled, shaking their head.
I rolled my eyes and finally peered at my phone after ignoring its constant ringing for six hours. Hughie had texted me a wapping eighty-seven times and called me fifty-one times, which wasn't surprising because he did tend to be a phone stalker. I scrolled through his messages, landing on the most recent one sent three minutes ago.
Hughie:
Look, I get that you're pissed at Butcher, and that's probably why you left. But please let us know that you're safe. We're freaking out over here.
I sighed heavily before I forced my fingers to type out a response.
Me:
I'm fine. I'm out of town helping a friend. Sorry to worry you. I'll be back on Monday.
I pondered over the words before deciding to go ahead and send it. It was a little colder and more direct than how I usually communicated, especially to Hughie. But I knew he'd understand.
Hughie's reply came within seconds. But before I could read it, the notification of an incoming call covered my screen. A lump formed in my throat when I saw Butcher's name flashing in front of my eyes. My thumb hovered over the 'accept' button before I shook my head and hurriedly declined the call. I am sure he only called to yell at me for disappearing, and I wasn't in the mood to be reprimanded by him.
"I can drive the rest of the way," I offered, returning my focus to Alex.
"No thanks, I'm good," They responded like I knew they would. Alex was very particular about driving and refused to get into an operating motor vehicle unless they were the one behind the wheel. I respected that, but it still felt like the right thing to do was offer so it didn't look like I was putting the burden of transportation on them.
My phone vibrated, notifying me that I'd received another text, and I reluctantly viewed the message.
Butcher:
I know you ignored my call.
Ok? And the sky is also blue. I'm so glad he's able to notice the obvious. At least there's nothing wrong with him in that department.
Just as I decided to ignore his text, his name lit up on my phone again, signaling another incoming call. I slumped in my seat, and groaned under my breath. Again, my finger pushed the red icon, sending him straight to voicemail. Not even a second later, Butcher began to call for the third time.
"You know," said Alex, "If you answered the phone, they might stop calling."
"I'd answer if it was anyone else. I refuse to talk to this particular person."
"Alright, have it your way," they muttered, changing lanes.
We fell quiet, and the only sound was my phone as it buzzed with a final text.
Butcher:
Please come back.

"I'd say that was pretty successful," I declared as we pulled into our Kentucky motel the next day. We had just finished our final deal, and while it was a little tedious, Alex's client ended up being happy overall with their purchase and promised they'd do business again.
"Yeah, thank God," Alex replied, cutting the engine after pulling into a parking spot. "I'm just grateful you were there. I think your presence was a great influence. You're still a legend in the drug community," they smirked.
I laughed lightly. "I'm happy to help anytime."
"Watch out because I will hold you to that promise."
We piled out of the car, and I waited out front while Alex headed in to get the key to our room. It was just past one in the morning, and I glanced over my shoulder, staying on high alert.
Alex exited the front entrance and dangled a key triumphantly. After entering our room, we each fell onto a twin-sized bed, and I watched as Alex almost instantly fell asleep.
I curled up on the wrinkled comforter for a few minutes before sitting up and rummaging through my bag for my phone; it had died a couple of hours ago, and now was my first opportunity to charge it.
I had received a text from Hughie asking if I was ok, to which I replied that I was, and I hadn't heard from Butcher since I'd blocked him last night when he proceeded to call me every thirty seconds, disrupting my sleep.
With nothing else to do, I slipped my jeans off, stashed my handheld in the bedside drawer, rolled under the covers, and attempted to sleep.

"That was fun. We should do it again sometime," Alex said as they pulled up to the pawn shop.
I nodded my head. "Yeah, it felt like old times."
We hugged before I got out of the car and looked up at the one building I wanted to avoid more than anything. Three days wasn't long enough, and I genuinely considered asking Alex if they wanted a roommate. But their jeep was already speeding down the road, so I had no choice but to enter the pawn shop and descend the familiar steps.
"You're back!" yelped Hughie as he rushed forward and wrapped his arms around me. I stumbled back before gaining my balance and returning the hug. "Yeah," I replied lamely.
I nodded to Frenchie and MM before they both turned to Hughie. "You ready?" MM asked, and Hughie replied that he was.
"D'accord, let's go," Frenchie said, and the three of them passed me as they headed upstairs and out of the pawn shop, leaving me alone with Butcher, who stood by the couch.
"Y'alright?"
I ignored his question and headed for the solitude of my room.
"Oi, I'm fuckin' talking to you." Butcher barked, and I heard his boots stomp in my direction. He wrapped a large hand around my arm, spinning me around. "Don't ever fuckin' do that again, ya' hear? You 'bout did me fuckin' head in, running off like that."
Butcher's face was inches from mine, and his warm breath fanned out across my cheeks and neck, causing goosebumps to flare. "I guess you forgot that I can take care of myself," I muttered bitterly as I wrenched my arm from his grasp and pushed the door open to my bedroom. Much to my dismay, Butcher followed me in.
"What's with the fuckin' attitude?" he demanded, crossing his arms. "You're acting like a right twat."
I whirled around as I threw my bag onto the floor, my nostrils flaring. "Oh, so you're allowed to have an attitude, but I'm not?" I glared daggers at him. "Get out."
"No. We're gonna talk," Butcher pressed, standing his ground.
"I don't want to talk to you."
"Well, too fuckin' bad, sweetheart. I ain’t leaving until you tell me what kind of stick is up your bum, and why the bloody hell you fucked off for three days without telling anyone."
"It's a free country, and I'm allowed to go where I please," I shot back. "Besides, I figured I'd give you all a break from carrying my dead weight around. I hear it can be quite tiring."
Butcher's mouth opened before he closed it, taking a beat before speaking, "S’that’s what this is about, eh? The fact that I called you dead weight the other night? No offense, love. But if a comment like that was enough to drive ya' out of town, you've gotten too sensitive."
"It wasn't just that one comment, William. It's the fact that you've been terrible to me for weeks now, and the shittiest part of it all is that I have no idea what I've done to deserve it!" I exclaimed, panting slightly as my shoulders rose and fell. Butcher raised a brow, and I scoffed, flopping on the bed. "Forget it. Now, would you mind kindly fucking off and leaving me alone?"
I turned away, and Bucther sighed quietly. A couple of seconds passed before the bed dipped behind me.
"M'sorry, alright?" he said quietly.
"Whatever, I don't even care anymore," I muttered, picking at the skin on the side of my nail.
"Yes, ya’ do."
My stomach flipped as Butcher carefully reached up and brushed the hair off my shoulder. "I didn't realize I was hurting ya' so much. I thought I was doing what was best."
"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked, turning back to face him. A calloused finger traced my cheek before his hand fell limply in his lap. Even though Butcher never slept more than a couple of hours a night, this was the first time I'd seen him look truly tired.
"I needed to push you away, and I figured a bit of tough love would do the trick." Butcher's hazel eyes met mine. "I realize I may've gone a bit too far."
"But why would you want to push me away? I thought we worked well together." My voice grew softer. "I thought you liked me."
"Oh, love, my feelings for you go way beyond like."
My thoughts became jumbled as I tried to comprehend what Butcher was saying, and I struggled to form a response, but it all ceased when he cupped my face in his hand. I instinctually leaned into his touch, and my eyes drooped, feeling serenity from the simple contact.
"M'sorry. M'so fucking sorry," Butcher apologized again. But this time, I saw emotion in his eyes. "You're the most precious thing in my life, and the last thing I would ever want to do is hurt ya'."
His lips gently grazed my forehead, placing a soft kiss there before continuing. “I'm no good for ya', doll. God only knows I'd fuck up an angel like you. In me own messed up head, pushing you away was the only way I could protect ya'."
"That's not true," I whispered, shaking my head, but Butcher didn't look convinced. "And even if it were true, I wouldn't care because I'm no saint either."
It was quiet between us, and our breaths were the only thing filling the small space. My gaze roamed Butcher's face before it fell on his lips, and I swallowed audibly.
"I want you, Billy."
Butcher looked torn. There was a deep crease between his brows, and his breathing grew quick as the seconds ticked by.
"I'll ruin you." His voice was rough, full of gravel.
"I'm already ruined."
Butcher's resolve began to fray before it split wide open, and his lips crashed into mine.

Should Have Been Me - CC

Pairing: Caitlin Clark x Reader
Summary: You and Caitlin are home for a weekend to celebrate her brother's birthday - one thing leads to another and nothing is the same.
Warnings: ANGST - PURE ANGST, read at your own will. I would apologize but that would be a lie...
Word Count: 6.3k
Sweetbans Masterlist
AN: Please don't ask why I did this, I needed the pain. Just let it be. But low-key this is probably one of my favorites that I’ve written. Okay great, thanks!
You and Caitlin are jamming out on the drive home to Des Moines. A few weeks back she mentioned how her younger brother's birthday was coming up and she was planning on making the trip home to be there. She didn't need to ask, knowing you would come.
The two of you grew up together, meeting on the first day of first grade. You two were inseparable. If you weren't at school together, you were at practice or at each other's homes. Your parents accepted when you were girls that they both had two daughters even though she was the only girl among her siblings and you were an only child. You were all essentially one big family.
It came as no surprise to either of them when Caitlin and you told them you were dating in high school. It was a little bit of a hard pill for her parents to swallow but ultimately were supportive of your relationship when they saw how happy you made Caitlin as more than a friend. It wasn't a hard decision when the Hawkeyes came around and scouted both of you out to play college basketball with them. It was both of your dreams, to play college basketball and ultimately make it to the NCAA championship. Eventually to play in the WNBA and that all was coming true right before your eyes. It was the cherry on top that you two were able to do that together on the same team. Not only is your chemistry incredible off the court, but on the court - it's unmatched.
This is your last little getaway before things pick up going into March Madness. Senior year baby and the two of you know you can the team all the way back to the final four.
You pull up to her house and grab your bag from the car. Even though your home was right down the street the two of you planned to spend the Friday night at her house and then head to yours for Saturday night. It works out well as her brother's birthday party is tonight.
Once you get inside, you see her mom going crazy trying to get everything in order before tonight You set your things down and immediately help out wherever she needs. Caitlin does the same but takes some time to catch up with her dad first. Once Cait and her dad jump in, it all comes together.
People begin to arrive and the party comes together. Their home comes to life with friends and family from all over.
Caitlin's mom comes running over to Caitlin and you in a slight panic.
"Caitlin, I need you to go grab Colin from his friends," she says looking at her phone.
"Doesn't he have his car? Why do I need to go grab him? I told Dad that I would help him get the lights up for the party before everyone got here and we are behind." She says getting a little flustered herself.
"His car isn't starting and his friend is out of a car so they have no way of getting here," Caitlin's mom explains.
"I can go get him," you say. "That way you both can stay and finish anything that is needed."
"Oh, you are an angel, sweetheart! Thank you, thank you, thank you," she says while giving you a hug.
"It is no problem, it's my pleasure," you respond and give her a smile. Caitlin gives you a look of gratitude.
Caitlin's mom sends you the address and you give Cait a peck before heading out to grab the boys.
Once you get in your car, you put on your favorite playlist and maps then head out. It was only about a 15-minute drive there. As you are driving, it is just starting to get dark. Your lights turn on automatically as you are driving. You are about 5 minutes out when you are stopped at a light. Once yours turns green, you begin to go and that is when time stops.
*Third person-ish POV*
Caitlin's mom walks over to her and her dad as they are setting up the lights. They are just about finished putting them up - it took a minute to do but they look really good.
"Have you see your little bother yet? I thought they would be back by now," her mom says looking at her phone.
"I am sure they are almost here, Mom," Caitlin says as her arms are holding up the last string of lights for her dad.
"I'm sure you're right," she says as she walks away and goes to tend to the food.
Once the lights are complete, Caitlin goes to look for you. She looks all over the place and can't seem to find you. After about 30 minutes of looking, she finds her mom.
"Hey mom, have you seen (y/n)," she asks, checking her phone to see if there were any messages that she missed.
"I have been trying to call her. Your bother called and asked when we would be there to pick him up," she says and Caitlin begins to get nervous. Looking at the clock, she realizes it has been about an hour since you had left to pick him up and it should have taken you 30 minutes.
Cait gives your phone a ring and it goes straight to voicemail. She begins to look around for your parents, knowing they were here to see if they could get a hold of you. When she finds them, they say they haven't seen her yet.
"Caitlin, can you go get your brother, please? It has been over an hour in and he is still waiting for (y/n)," her mom says, not looking up from her phone. Caitlin grabs her mom's keys and heads out.
As she is driving, she notices there are police detouring cars. Her heart rate begins to pick up. She has to tell herself that it's not you, it couldn't be you. There was no way, you had never been in an accident and you are the best driver she knows. She slows down and makes a slow turn following the detour when she sees it. She sees your car flipped on its side, completely crushed on the driver's side.
She pulls her car over immediately, gets out, and runs to the scene. There is caution tape around the whole area which she completely ignores and runs over to the first ambulance she can see. When she looks inside, she sees a man with a cut on his forehead and arm in a sling. Before she can continue looking, there is a police officer approaching her.
"Ma'am, you can't be over here," he begins to say as he tries to usher you out of the caution-taped area.
"That's my girlfriend's car! I need to find her!" She says as she is in full-blown panic now.
The officer's mannerisms change completely when he hears that the girl in front of him knows who was in the car that was hit.
"Come this way, ma'am," he says in a gentler tone this time.
"No, I need to find (y/n). That is her car, she is here and I need to find her," Caitlin says not seeing the officer's demeanor changing. He grabs her arm and tries to get her to look at him. When she looks at him, he speaks again.
"You should come this way and we can talk," he says slowly, not wanting to spook you. Caitlin goes into a haze. She stops trying to fight the officer and lets him lead her to an easy-up tent that has been set up with lights. He offers her a chair and a bottle of water and sits next to her.
"Would you happen to have contacts for her parents? Someone else we can call to come down and be here with you?" The officer says, still not telling her what happened or where you are.
Caitlin pulls out her phone from her pocket and hands it over to him with your mom's phone number on the screen. Up to this point, no tears had fallen from Caitlin's eyes - if she was feeling anything it was anger. Why wasn't anyone telling her anything? She still had no idea what had happened. The officer passes her phone to another officer and they make the call.
"Can you please tell me what has happened and what's going on? I want to see her, is she okay?" Caitlin begins asking the officer again. She is doing everything in her power to not completely freak out. Her body is numb and she is confused as to where you could be.
"It would be best to wait for her family to be here," the officer begins but is cut off by Caitlin.
"I am her family." She says without hesitation. It was true. Not by blood and not legally, at least not legally yet but between growing up together and the relationship the two of you had been in for the last 6 years, it was only a matter of time before you were married. She had been your family since day one and everyone knew that.
The officer gives her a somber smile and a nod. Giving her a pat on the shoulder as another officer calls him over.
Caitlin sits there and waits, trying to look around at other ambulances to see if she can see you in any of them. If you were hurt, maybe they had already taken you to the hospital and didn't want her to drive in the state she was in.
A few moments pass and Caitlin sees both your parents and hers come running up to the scene. Caitlin stands and immediately hugs her mom. The tears begin to fall the second she is wrapped in safe arms. She still has no idea what is going on but at least now she is not alone.
The officer approaches asking your parents if they are they say they are. He takes them aside and begins explaining what happened. Caitlin breaks away from her mom to look over and see your mom sobbing with your dad trying to hold her as he sheds tears of his own.
"Mom, what happened? They haven't told me anything, I just want to see her," Caitlin says heart beating faster than a race car. Seeing your parents crumble before the officer has her feeling sick. She can't stand still as her foot is tapping and her hands keep playing with either themselves or the bottom of her shirt.
Caitlin's dad nods at her mom as he walks over to your parents and the officer. The officer and her dad both look over to Caitlin and her mom as they turn away. Caitlin sees her dad's shoulder slump and his hand come up to his face. He takes another moment before patting the officer on the shoulder and heading back to where his family is.
He doesn't say anything as he approaches, but rather takes Caitlin in his arms and just holds his daughter.
"Dad," Caitlin begins, hesitant in asking how. The last 45 minutes had felt like an eternity as she had been asking everyone under the sun what had happened. But the way her dad walked over and went to hold her, she no longer wants to know what has happened - she just wants to go back to earlier today when it was you and her against the world on the drive home. She can't seem to find what to ask anymore.
"Baby, I'm so sorry." Is all he says as he holds his baby girl. Something your parents are no longer able to do. Her mom rubs Caitlin's arm.
Caitlin's whole body goes numb, she still doesn't really know what happened but knows enough now to figure out nothing is going to be the same. When it begins to hit her, she feels suffocated by the arms holding her. Her first instinct is to run, to break away from here and run. And that is exactly what she does.
She pushes through her dad's arms and runs. She can hear her parents call for her but she doesn't look back.
She runs for hours finally slowing down when her lungs begin to burn so bad that she is gasping for air. Not that she wanted it - if you weren't with her, what was the point? You had been by her side her whole life and now she was alone. Cait lets out the most primal scream and falls to the ground. She curls up into a ball as the tears begin to fall.
Her mind begins to think of you, to the last moment before you left when you offered to pick up her brother. All she gave you was a little peck - no hug, no I love you. She should have held you and told her she loved you. It is then that it dawns on her, she was the one that was supposed to go. It was Caitlin who was first asked to pick up her brother but she didn't want to leave her dad so you volunteered. It should have been her picking up her brother. Maybe if it was her, things would have turned out differently and you would have still been here. As she is curled up on the side of the street - she feels her body beginning to shut down...
It was the summer before junior year of high school and you and Caitlin were heading home from practice for your club team, Attack. She was driving the two of you back to your house when you mentioned you wanted to stop to get milkshakes. She happily pulled over at your favorite local spot. Once the two of you had gotten your sweet treat, you sat in her car drinking milkshakes and talking about all the possibilities for playing college ball.
"Cait?" You ask as she is finishing her milkshake. She looks up at you. "I love you," you say. Up to this point, the two of you had both told each other you liked each other more than friends and started to explore what that looked like. You would say the two of you had been dating for the past couple of months - keeping it really low-key as you didn't know how the people around you would take it. But there was something about this moment, something about being together and just doing life together that helped you realize she is your everything.
She looks at you slightly shocked.
"You don't need to say it back!" You say, not wanting to pressure her. You just didn't want to go another day without telling her. "I just needed to tell you because, well, I do. I love you, Caitlin Clark."
A goofy little smile makes its way to her face and she pulls you in for a hug. It isn't the most comfortable considering you sitting in a car and have some piece of the center console pushing into your rib cage but you didn't mind.
"I love you," she whispers in your ear as she hugs you.
"Caitlin, sweetie," someone is shaking her arm. "Cait, wake up," they continue to shake her, waking her up.
She looks up, eyes foggy and body in pain. It takes her a few seconds to see it is completely dark and that she is on the side of the road. As she looks around, she realizes she is across the street from your favorite milkshake place. It had closed down a few years back but it was often a place the two of you would go to just sit and talk.
As she sits up, she doesn't remember stopping here. She just remembers running and running until she literally couldn't.
"Caitlin, sweetie," she hears again and looks up. It is your dad who has woken her up, she looks around and it is just him. "We have been looking for you for a while now sweetie."
She just nods. Everything rushed back to her. No one has actually said it to her yet, but she knows. You were gone. Her eyes begin to water again as it is all too much for her to wrap her mind around.
Your dad sits next to her, not ready to make his way back to reality. Sitting there with Cait, has him feeling like you are still here. That you are going to walk up and take them both home and tell them that this was all a dream.
“I don’t know if you remember, but I took you and (y/n) here after your very first basketball practice in elementary school. You both wanted something sweet and I didn’t want to go out of the way on the drive home that I pulled over here in hopes they had something that would satisfy you both. We walked in and they had milkshakes,” he says with a little laugh and sniffle. “(Y/n) had never had a milkshake before but you were so excited and told her it was the best thing in the world. Of course, she believed you, she trusted you with her whole heart and soul and you didn’t disappoint her. That afternoon you two shared a chocolate shake, finished every last drop.”
Caitlin is hugging her legs as tears stream down her face. She doesn’t remember that but it makes it that much more special that this place was your spot.
“Caitlin, has anyone explained what has happened?” He asks hesitantly. He doesn’t want to talk about it but he knows that she deserves to know.
She takes a minute, deciding if she really wants someone to say it. Even though she knows you are gone, for some reason having someone explain what actually happened makes everything that much more real. She finally shakes her head no, not daring to make eye contact. She feels like she would physically fall apart if someone looked into her eyes with any drop of sympathy.
“They said it was fast, that she didn’t feel any pain,” he began, hoping that would provide any ounce of peace to her. “When she was going through the intersection, a drunk driver came and blew through their red light. They impacted the driver's side and she…” he is choked up at this point. It’s not right that a father has to say this about his daughter. “She died upon impact.” He finishes, not sugarcoating it knowing Caitlin also preferred the direct approach.
Caitlin at this point is shaking with pain and anger. Her world has completely flipped due to an idiot making bad decisions. She wants to find the man and bring him all the pain she is feeling but knows that will never bring you back. That’s all she really wants, is you back.
Your dad doesn’t rush Caitlin, he lets her feel everything she needs. If he is honest, he also needs this time. He’s been caring for your mom then went on the hunt with the rest of the family to find Caitlin. He hasn’t had the time to just sit. Not that he really wanted to because that allows the feelings to come in and disrupt peace. How does a dad wrap his mind around losing his baby girl? His only little one.
“I don’t know life without her,” Caitlin speaks for the first time. Her voice is unsteady and broken, desperate. “She’s always been there, I don’t know how to be here without her,” she says as she lets out a cry. She bites her arm to avoid completely losing it. Your dad's hand comes to rub her back and bring her into a hug.
"I know she was your person and you were hers. She will always be a part of you," your dad says trying to calm the broken girl you left behind. "But I also know that she took a part of you and that it is going to take time for you to process and heal."
The two of them sit, not saying much after that. After some time, your dad helps Caitlin into the car, driving her back to her home. On the car ride back, your dad calls Caitlin's dad letting her know that she is with him and they can all head back to their house.
When they arrive, Cait's parents come running out and embrace her in a hug. Her whole body was still numb, her cheeks stained with dried tears. She doesn't have the energy to hug them back, rather just stands there. No thoughts going through her head, she doesn't quite know what to do. How does someone continue living when they are no longer whole?
*One week later*
Caitlin is sitting on her bed, dressed in a simple black dress. Her hair is straightened and her nails are black. They are usually painted white but that just didn’t fit her in the moment. She is mentally preparing to face the crowd of people who are waiting just down the road.
She takes a shaky breath and stands from her bed. She walks up to her dresser and puts on a necklace and bracelet - both were gifts from you. She looks at herself one more time in the mirror. As she is looking at herself, she pictures when the two of you were standing there dressed for a friend’s wedding. It’s almost as if she can see you standing next to her.
She hears a faint knock on her door. She doesn’t respond but the door opens and her mom peaks through.
“Hey baby, are you ready” She asks in a gentle motherly tone. Caitlin just nods. Never in a million years would she picture herself being in this boat.
Cait's dad had already driven over to the church with her brothers. It was going to be Cait and her mom driving there just in case she needed some space to be alone.
As they arrive, there is already a huge crowd of people, all of whom are entering the building. Caitlin's heart rate begins to pick up and she begins to fiddle with the bottom of her dress. Her mom grabs her hand, attempting to calm her. Nothing and no one will ever calm her like you did.
She walks in. There have been countless times Caitlin has imagined walking down this aisle with you but under much different circumstances. Her heart aches at the thought of what could have been.
She takes her seat in the front row between her mom and her dad. As she sits, she makes the mistake of glancing over at your parents. She can tell they are doing everything in their power to keep their composure but she knows they are faking.
The funeral service begins and your dad is the first to go up and speak. Caitlin's mind wanders elsewhere...
It was freshman year of college and the two of you are heading into your Intro to Psych class. The two of you head to the seats you have sat in since day one. In the middle of class, Caitlin feels a weight on her shoulder. When she looks over she sees you - fast sleep on her.
It had been a busy few weeks between double practices and all the homework you two had. Cait knew you had been bending over backwards adjusting and keeping up with all the university required of you.
She leans down and kisses you on the head. You would always say you are an ugly sleeper - granted you had never seen yourself but you could feel it. Caitlin on the other hand would disagree and say you are the cutest when you sleep. She would always say you looked so peaceful, childlike.
Caitlin also knows that you would be pissed if she let you sleep through the lecture. You were the better note-taker and when it would come time to study for the final - Cait wouldn't hear the end of letting you sleep through the review. But on the other hand, your girl knows how little sleep you have been getting, always working on school work or reviewing plays and making sure you were on top of everything.
You let out a little sigh and lean a little further into her - fast asleep. Caitlin lets out a little groan, knowing she would much rather watch you sleep on her than wake you. She slowly begins to move her shoulder, trying to get you to wake up without being startled.
When you don't budge, she leans down and says your name in your ear. You still don't budge.
Finally, she turns a little, trying not to draw attention to the two of you, and moves her arm to squeeze your thigh.
"Babe, you need to wake up," she says, giving your thigh another squeeze.
"Mmmm, don't want to," you mumble and move to take hold of her arm, wrapping your arms around it like it was a pillow.
"Babe, we are still in class." She says with a little laugh - falling a little more in love with you.
This causes you to shoot up, fully alert by her words. You look around and your cheeks redden immediately. Sinking down in your chair - embarrassment filling every ounce of your body.
She hands you your pen back and leans over to kiss your head once again.
"Don't worry babe, you didn't miss much," she says reassuring you.
Caitlin is pulled back to the present - though she much rather stay in the past. The service was ending and there was going to be a time for people to pay their respects to your family. it was being held at your house, Caitlin hasn't been without you - not having the strength to go over to see your parents. Most of the last week was spent in bed, with the exception of when her mom encouraged her to shower.
When she walks into the house, it almost feels foreign. She grew up in this house with you and now it feels unknown. She walks up to your parents. Your mom engulfs her in a hug, mumbling something along the lines of how much she loves her. Cait then steps over to give your dad a hug. The last time she saw him was when he found her on the side of the road. He hugs Caitlin without saying anything until their embrace ends.
"When you are ready, I have something to show you," he says. Caitlin just nods. She isn't ready yet but keeps that in mind.
As Cait makes her way further into the house, her team is standing there. This is the first time seeing anyone outside of your family since that night.
Kate is the first one to come up to Caitlin and pull her into a hug. Kate is crying as she hugs her. When Caitlin is in public settings - she doesn't tend to cry, she does everything in her willpower not to because someone had to stay composed and when you were around, it wasn't you. She hugs Kate back and rubs her back.
All the girls give their condolences and talk about their favorite memories with you. Kate is holding Caitlin's hand, grounding her.
Caitlin stands there, trying to be polite and listen to how much they all loved you and adored you but she was crawling in her skin. None of this still feels right. Somewhere in Caitlin's mind and heart, she is waiting for you to walk through the front door and tell everybody that there is no one to mourn and that she is okay. But that was all just a dream.
Caitlin excuses herself and decides she wants to be alone. She begins walking and before she knows it, she is standing at the door to your room. The door is closed and she doesn't remember this being the destination she was looking for.
Her breath begins to unease itself as her hand comes to the doorknob. She twists it and opens the door, not yet daring to take a step inside. She stands looking around - the all too familiar space feeling empty. A pain builds in her chest as she walks through and makes her way to your dresser.
She looks at all that it holds. Little trinkets that the two of you saw value in, old jewelry, and many pictures of the two of you. Photos of you growing up and in high school. Her fingers run along your face on all of them - tears finally making an appearance on her own.
She then makes her way to your closet - bringing an old high school basketball sweatshirt into her chest. She inhales the scent of it, dampening it with her tears. She puts it on and hugs her arms around her body. She makes her way over to your bed and runs her hands over it, remembering all the times she had spent the night here with you. She lays down and curls up into a ball.
Looking over, she sees an old teddy bear that the two of you had made at Build-a-Bear for one of your anniversaries. She takes hold of the bear and snuggles into it - finally allowing her sobs to release.
Every time she begins to feel better, she gets hit by another truck. This one being the second biggest only to the night it all happened.
After some time, she finally begins to settle down. She sees your dad pass by. Caitlin gets up and runs to the doorway, calling for him.
"Caitlin," he begins, as he slightly peers into your room. "We haven't been in (Y/n's) room since it happened, we haven't had the strength to..." He continues.
"You said you had something you wanted to show me?" She asks, not really sure if she is ready but wants to know.
"Oh yes, wait here, let me grab it," he says and goes to get something from your parent's room. He comes back holding something in his hand.
He passes it to Caitlin. It is a small velvet box. Caitlin's hands begin to shake.
"When you are ready, you can open it. It doesn't have to be now, but I know it belongs to you." He says as there is some confusion written on Caitlin's face. He explains. "This was my mother's, she passed it down to Y/n when she mentioned the two of you started dating. We have been holding onto it but like I said, it's yours." He chokes out the last part and excuses himself.
Caitlin goes to sit on your bed and just stares at the box in her hands.
She slowly opens the box to see the most beautiful diamond ring sitting in it. Tears begin to fall again as she removes it from the box and places it on her finger.
It's your grandmother's wedding ring. Your grandmother had given you her wedding ring for when you were ready to ask Caitlin to marry you. Caitlin looks at the ring on her finger and clutches her hand to her chest - you were going to ask her to be your wife.
As Cait was going to close the box, a little piece of paper caught her eye. She pulls it out and opens the folded piece. She whispers the words on the page.
"Dear Y/n, It is clear to me how much you love Caitlin. I could see it before the two of you started dating, it was only a matter of time. She is your person like your grandfather was to me. I am giving you this ring for when the time is right and you are ready to build a life with her. May you love each other more and more each day, as your grandfather and I did. I love you, sweet girl. - Grams"
Caitlin struggled through the letter but was glad she did. She realized you had been holding on to this ring for the past 5 years.
*Two months later*
Caitlin was back at school and back at practice with the girls. Each girl on the team took turns watching over Caitlin. It was never said but she knew, at no point was she ever alone except to sleep.
Tonight was her first game back and it has been a love-hate relationship getting back on the court. Basketball has always been her love but it was off-putting being on the court without you. The two of you had played together for so long, neither of you had to think when it came to making things happen. Coming back to practice it was like learning a whole new sport.
As the team was in the locker room before the game - they were getting a talk from Coach Bluder before taking the court for the first game of March Madness.
"We are going to go out there and give our everything. There is nothing we are not ready for - each and every one of you has put in the blood, sweat, and tears and we are going to show the world that this is our time." She says getting the team fired up. Her final words bring silence among the group. "As we go out there, we are going out there incomplete. We are missing someone who has changed this team for the better and when we step foot onto that court, we are walking out there in her honor. Y/n will always be a part of this team and as she carried this team as captain before - she still does today."
Caitlin fiddles with the ring that would have wed the two of you and safety pins it to the left side of her sports bra. There was no way she was walking out there without you with her.
The team lines up in silence - ready to go out and honor you. And that is exactly what they did.
Iowa went 91-65, absolutely crushing the first round of March Madness. Your team fought its way back to the Final Four and Caitlin dedicated every game to you.
The night of the Final Four was a battle - UConn put up an amazing fight, but the Hawkeyes came out on top. After the game - it was decided that Caitlin would step into the post-game press conference. Her first one since your passing.
As she sits down, the crowd takes a second to settle, surprised seeing her out there considering she hadn't been in any of the previous ones despite being an all-star in each of them.
The press starts asking questions about the game and how the team was able to pull the win off. Everything was going smoothly until one reporter asked about you.
"Caitlin, there was a loss on your team right earlier in the season - how has that affected the team dynamic?" The reporter asks.
She was expecting someone to ask but even anticipating the question, it took her some time to gather her thoughts. Just as she was about to speak - Kate stepped up and responded for her. Caitlin was extremely thankful and when Kate was done she finally found the words she wanted to say.
"No one on this team has felt the loss of Y/n more than I have. She was my #1 on and off the court," she says beginning to get choked up. "Her absence is felt deeper than anyone can imagine and this team will never be the same without her."
'I will never be the same without her' is what Caitlin wanted to say but couldn't between the tears that began to fall. Kate passed her a towel, which she gladly accepted. She tried so hard to keep it together but it was all still so fresh.
That night, Kate and some of the other girls spent the night at Caitlin's so she wouldn't have to be alone. It had only been a few months but Caitlin was afraid she would never truly heal from you.
*One year later*
Caitlin was living out the dream the two of you talked about so often. She was in the WNBA and was playing for the Indiana Fever. She had an incredible rookie year and was currently at an awards night where she was going to receive the Rookie of the Year award.
The night was going well and it was time for the award presentation. When they announce Caitlin as rookie of the year, she ascends the stage and accepts the award, giving the commissioner a hug before taking her place to make her speech.
"First off, I want to say a huge thank you to my team - if it wasn't for them taking me in like they did, I wouldn't be standing here today. I want to thank my Iowa team who grew me and shaped me. Thank you to my parents and brothers for always pushing me and believing in me and my ability." She looks down at the award and at her hand that wears her ring. "The last thank you I want to give is to Y/n, my wife." She says it knowing the weight it holds but it comes out so naturally.
"I owe my everything to her. She was my supporter from day one and every day after that she wouldn't settle for anything less than my best. Even when I would say I was giving her my all - she would push me past that, strengthening me and showing me who I truly had the potential to become. I stand before you all today because of her love of this sport, and her love of me." Caitlin makes the slightest adjustment to look up, to anyone in the audience it looks like she is looking up at the balcony but all those who knew you, know that she is looking up to you. "Baby, we did it," she says as a single tear rolls down her cheek. "We are living out our dream."
AN: DON'T ASK ME TO APOLOGIZE BECAUSE I WON'T. Please let me know what you think! And as always, thank you for your love and support 🤍

Your leg bounced nervously as you sat in the van, watching the trees whisk past while Nick drove along the gravel road.
He quickly noticed your unease, reaching to squeeze your hand with reassurance, “You alright my love?”
The nickname made your heart skip a beat, and your face warmed briefly. You squeezed his hand back, forcing out a reassuring, "Yeah, of course. Why wouldn’t I be?" Although it was a lie.
His eyebrows furrowed slightly as he searched your face for any signs of doubt, but he dismissed the feeling when he spotted the cabin through the window.
You bit the inside of your cheek, taking in a shaky breath. This was the weekend you planned to finally overcome your nerves and take the next step with Nick. Though you'd been dating for over a year, intimacy hadn't been part of your relationship yet; which had you feeling quite insecure, despite his complete understanding. Nick never once pressured you, and when you finally explained why you were hesitant, he was even more considerate.
"Of course I'm excited to explore that side with you, but I never want you to feel uncomfortable. I'm happy to wait until you're ready. Take all the time you need, beautiful," he had assured you a few months ago, on a night you opened up to him.
But this getaway? It was the perfect chance for you to set aside your worries and show Nick you trusted him.
As Nick parked the van in front of the cabin, you found your hand instinctually tightening around his. He turned to look at you, softness glittering in his eyes.
“Nervous?” he queried gently, not asking specifically about what - both of you understood the unsaid.
“Maybe a bit," you confessed, the corners of your lips tugging into a nervous smile. Your heart pounded in your chest.
Nick chuckled lightly, that familiar sound doing wonders to relax the tension building up inside you. Wrapping an arm around your waist, he leaned over and planted a kiss on your forehead.
“Don’t worry, love. Only what you want, when you want.” His words were lathered with sincerity, his gaze vehemently assuring.
Taking a deep breath, you nodded silently, and stepped out of the van alongside him. The cabin was serene and tranquil; the perfect setting.
Together, you gathered your belongings and made way into the cabin, the creak of the wooden door serving as a welcome to the secluded weekend escape. The interior was comforting, decorated with rustic charm and warm tones. It smelled faintly of pine and wood smoke, enveloping you in a blanket of calm.
It only took a few minutes to unpack. Nick had always been good at keeping things light, literally and figuratively, and he had made sure to pack only the essentials for your trip.
With your bags emptied and forgotten, he took your hand and led you outside.
The sun was setting over the lake in front of the cabin, transforming the sky into bright streaks of pink and orange. In this warm blanket of sundown hues, you felt comforted by his presence beside you. Nick squeezed your hand again, and you moved closer to him, your body seeking the reassurance of his warmth. He welcomed the closeness, wrapping one arm protectively around you as you both watched the last slivers of sun disappear beyond the horizon.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" Nick murmured, his gaze fixated on the changing hues of the twilight.
In response, you let out a soft hum of agreement, eyes never leaving the trees. The silence stretching between you two felt intimate and soothing. Moments like these reminded you why you had fallen for him in the first place.
The comforting hum of crickets echoed around you as darkness fell. Dimly lit by the soft glow of moonlight filtering through the trees, you followed him back towards the cabin. A comforting fire crackled in the fireplace, casting a warm, inviting light that softened any lingering nerves.
Nick guided you gently to the couch beside it, his hand never leaving yours. Leaning in close, he pressed a lingering kiss to your forehead, his other hand gently trailing up and down your back.
“Are you okay?” His asked again, words were barely above a whisper as he pulled away just enough to look at you.
You nodded, a timid yet genuine smile playing on your lips. “Absolutely.”
A small sigh of relief escaped him as his lips quirked up into a tender smile. Sitting next to you on the couch, he pulled you closer to him, wrapping his arms around you as you tucked yourself into his side.
As both of you sat there together in front of the crackling fire, Nick began to pepper soft kisses onto your cheek and neck which caused your heart to flutter uncontrollably. It was an affectionate motion that somehow felt more intimate than anything else you’d experienced with him before. His lips felt soft and warm against your skin, nuzzling into the crook of your neck, where every kiss seemed to reach right into your heart.
“Still okay?” He whispered against your skin. The question was more about emotion than anything physical.
“Yes,” you murmured, leaning further into his embrace. Running your fingers through his hair, you tilted your face to look into his eyes. “I'm okay, Nick.”
Your answer brought a smile of relief onto his face, his twinkling eyes reflecting the firelight that danced merrily around the room. He locked gazes with you, wanting to know for sure that you were ready before allowing himself to proceed any further.
Sensing the question in them made you pull him closer, raising yourself to plant a soft kiss on his lips.
"More than okay," you whispered against him.
The tension that had been subtly present in Nick began to dissipate at your reassurance, replaced by a warmth that radiated from his core. The smile on his face seemed to grow as his hand gently moved up and down your back to comfort the lingering nerves beneath.
His kisses became slower and more deliberate, moving from your forehead onto your lips again. Nick tugged lightly at your pants, pulling you over onto his lap gently.
You sucked in a nervous breath as you straddled him, hands shaking slightly as you held onto the back of his neck, refusing to brake the kiss.
"Relax my love," he murmured through the kiss, his hot breath sending shivers down your spine. His hands slowly roved up to cup your face, thumbs tracing circles into your flushed cheeks.
"Just breathe."
You nodded, shutting your eyes tight as you buried your head into his neck. He smelt intoxicatingly familiar-comfort mixed with raw anticipation, and the sound of his own heartbeat thrummed beneath your ear.
"Hey," he whispered, his hand settling on the nape of your neck to lightly massage the fear-knotted muscles. You lifted your head to look at him, biting down hard on your lower lip.
His eyes met yours in the dim light, holding an intensity that sent warmth flooding through you. He reached down cautiously, intertwining his fingers with yours, firmly yet gently as if trying not to break something precious.
He brought your entwined hands up to rest on the part of his chest that covered his heart. You felt its steady beat beneath your palm – a rhythmic reminder of his devotion, of his patient understanding.
“Do you feel that?” Nick whispered while he held your gaze. The drumming grew faster as a free hand reached underneath your chin, pulling you back down to his lips once again.
“You make me nervous- and I love it. I love you.”
You rubbed your nose slowly against his as you chewed back a shy smile.
Nick reciprocated, sucking in a breath, “I want you so bad. I need you in every way you’ll let me.”
"Nick," you whispered, pressing your lips against his again with growing certainty, "I need you too."
“We can stop at anytime…” He began, slowly kissing down your neck towards your collarbone. His hands followed, running down your shoulders to follow the curve of your sides, before landing on your hips.
The brunette began to guide your waist in a slow, teasing circle across his lap.
“…Let me show you how much I love you. How you’ve always deserved to be loved.”
His words, raw and honest, carried through the still cabin air, igniting a dormant flame inside you. The tremor in his voice betrayed his own anticipation, and something about that fueled your resolve. This was Nick. He loved you, respected you. He would never hurt you.
With a gentle nod, you gave him permission to continue. His hands began their journey anew, tracing lines of adoration across your skin. By the time his restless fingers reached the hem of your shirt, you were breathless; suspence and hope wrapped up all into one.
With one last glance into your eyes for reassurance, he slipped his hands underneath your shirt, his fingertips leaving imaginary trails of lust on your body. Each inch of revealed skin sent a new wave of titillation through Nick as he watched you react to his every touch.
He couldn’t fight the soft moan that escaped him, more at the sight of your passion-dewed face than at the feeling of your warmth beneath his hands.
Their journey took them along the curve of your waist, over your stomach until they encountered the barrier of your bra. This time, he didn’t ask with his eyes but with a gentle squeeze of your hand.
He slid the flimsy strap down your shoulders, revealing you to him in a way no one else had ever seen. His eyes widened at the sight of you, all flushed skin and cautious expectation.
You sat there under his gaze, heart pounding in your chest as you felt exposed. Yet there was no judgment in his eyes, only pure admiration.
"Fuck you're beautiful," he whispered, tracing the edge of your bra with teasing precision.
Nick's gaze was intense and comforting at the same time as it finally met yours again. The way he looked at you, and the gentle strokes of his fingers alone made you feel wanted and cherished.
He slid the material down further, until you were completely bare to his sight. Your breath hitched in your throat as anticipation tightened within, but Nick’s touch was gentle and soothing. His thumb traced circles in the valley between your breasts, blatantly ignoring the hardened peaks that demanded his attention.
"Still okay?" His voiced crawled from his throat as he tried to maintain eye contact, and his hands didn’t venture any further until he got a verbal confirmation.
“Please touch me,” You whispered, taken aback by the desperation that was laced between every syllable.
His kisses returned to capture your lips once more, even more intense than the last. You felt an indescribable warmth pooling low in your stomach with each careful caress of his hands.
Bold fingers slipped lower, edging past your waistband that elicited a surprised whimper from you. "Tell me if you want me to stop," he reminded you gently, pressing a soft peck to your cheek.
"I won't need to," you replied, surprising yourself with the sturdiness in your voice.
Nick’s lips curved up in a smile against your skin, his hand moving lower, his fingers dancing on the edge of your panties. He reached behind, his fingers sliding under the band of your underwear, meticulously pulling them down with slow deliberate movements.
You hitched a breath, feeling the fabric pool around your ankles. As he knelt down to help you step out of them, his eyes never left yours - a silent vow of reverence and respect for you and this moment shared between you two.
Standing back up, he lifted and laid you down on the couch. Looming over you now, he ran his fingers lightly across your exposed form, taking in every reaction that rippled across on your face.
He reached behind his head, tugging the white t-shirt that had shielded his frame this entire time, and you let out a gasp of awe as you took in his chest. You squeezed your thighs together, the hot flush lingering on your cheeks becoming even more prominent when he discarded his pants next, leaving him in only his boxers.
A low moan escaped your lips when he nestled himself between your legs again, his hips rutting his covered length gently against yours. A gasp left your lips, pleasure pooling at the sudden friction against your core.
Nick's lips captured yours again, swallowing every whimper and breath as he deepened the kiss. His hand snaked down your body, making a slow path towards your throbbing heat.
His finger slid across your desire, running along your folds to coat his fingers in your arousal. He moaned against your lips in desperation, almost panting when he felt just how wet you were. Fingers danced in circles around your swollen bud, slowly and lightly before pressing harder onto your body.
You sucked in a shaky breath, your body arching into his touch. His name fell like a mantra from your lips, each syllable punctuated with a hitched gasp when his fingers stroked something that made you writhe beneath him.
“Nick, please…” you begged, your chest heaving as the mounting pleasure had you teetering on the edge. Only you had been able to make yourself feel this way in the past- but being with Nick made this all the more sensual.
Nick pulled back from your kiss and slid his knees to the ground, resting his face between your thighs.
“Are you comfortable if I use my mouth?” He whispered, breath fanning across your desire, leaving you a whimpering mess.
“Yes,” you slurred, eyes shut tight as the anticipation ran a carnal shiver up your spine.
“That’s my girl,” he praised, pressing a chaste kiss to your inner thigh before pressing his tongue between your folds.
You moaned aloud as he explored you, each sound of pleasure encouraging him further.
With a newfound boldness, Nick delved deeper, circling around your entrance before his tongue slipped in ever so slightly. A cry of surprise and pleasure ripped from your throat, hands gripping onto the back of the couch tightly.
The brunette moaned into you, devouring your taste as you neared release, your breathing became ragged and body started to quiver. Your hand tightened in his hair, pulling him closer against you as you whimpered out his name repeatedly. He was relentless- every lick and kiss imbued with care and concern for your pleasure; every stroke of his tongue felt like a promise.
Nick took his fingers, sliding one inside before a second and third quickly followed.
Your breathing hitched, legs twitching while Nick continued his sweet torture until your body tensed entirely, a silent scream stuck in your throat as waves of euphoria rushed through each of your limbs.
He continued to taste you through the tremors, letting you ride out the waves of pleasure until you were left panting beneath him. He pressed soft kisses along your inner thighs, tracing the curve of your hip as he ascended back upward towards your lips.
"You taste so good," Nick whispered, causing you to chew on your lip nervously.
“Really?” You choked out, breath catching in your throat as you came down from your orgasm, a mix of relief and disbelief coating your features.
Leaning back, he took a moment to study you - flushed and breathless beneath him, your eyes half-lidded from pleasure, emanating pure trust and satisfaction. A proud smile stretched across his face, indulging himself a second longer before scooping you upwards into his arms.
“Really.”
You let out a small squeal of surprise as he carried you towards the bedroom, your arms securely wrapped around his neck. He kicked the door open softly and laid you on the bed gently. Standing at the foot of the bed he shucked off his boxers, leaving him fully exposed.
He climbed onto the bed next to you, pulling you close into his warmth. His arousal pressed against your thigh in silent request.
"Do you want to keep going?" His soft voice broke through the silence.
The earnest look in his eyes made your heart swell with love. Swallowing hard, you nodded, your hand reaching down to touch him slowly. He gasped as your fingers wrapped around him, instinctively thrusting into your touch as he chewed back a nervous smile.
Nick rolled above you, spreading your thighs gently as you escorted him to your entrance, both of you holding your breaths as he pushed himself inside. A gasp left both your lips at the sensation, and you watched as his mouth fell open in newfound desperation.
Your heart pounded in your chest as you spread your legs wider for him. He was gentle - so gentle as he pushed into you. You gasped quietly, eyes fluttering shut as you felt the stretch and burn of your first time.
Nick stilled once he was fully sheathed within you, his forehead resting against yours as he whispered soft words of encouragement and love.
"Does it hurt?" Nick's concern echoed through the dimly lit room as he peered down at you.
"A little," you shook your head slowly, eyes not leaving his, "But not pain pain…just... different."
He sucked in a shaky breath, "Different good or different bad?"
"Different good," you assured him, your hands reaching to hold his face tenderly. These words were enough to prompt a small, satisfied smile from the man above you.
As Nick began to move, his eyelids fluttered shut, a low moan escaping his lips. You shivered beneath him, watching as his brows furrowed with need. His movements were slow, deliberately gentle as he navigated the newness of feeling your body around his.
“You're so tight," he whispered against your earlobe, fingers digging into your side as he held you close, hips thrusting slowly.
“Nick...” His name came out as a whimper, fingertips clutching onto the sheets beneath you.
“Yeah, baby?” His breath hitched, fighting the urge to close his eyes and lose himself in you.
“I...I think I can handle more…” You bit down on your lip before daring to look into his eyes. An emotion you couldn't quite place flitted through his gaze, but he took your request to heart.
Nick began to move with more purpose, his thrusts growing stronger. A gasp ripped from your throat, pleasure prickling along your skin as he filled you just right.
His moans grew louder in response to the noises that slipped from your lips, his rhythm faltering slightly with each particularly loud one.
"Am I going too fast? Do you want me to slow down?" Nick panted, the words barely audible over his heavily labored breathing.
You grasped hold of his shoulders, nails biting into his skin as you shook your head fervently.
"No, don't slow down," you managed to choke out through soft gasps. Taking your fingers you reached between your thighs, dipping them to rub quick circles over your core as Nick thrust deeper. The excitement that shone from his eyes sent a wave of confidence surging through you.
He kissed you again, this time with so much need and desire as his tongue swiped against your own. Each thrust had you riding higher and higher, until all your reality was focused on your bodies intertwined.
The sensation of him growing harder inside you made your heartbeat intensify, throbbing through every inch of you. The coil of pleasure within your abdomen began to wind tighter and tighter, beckoning an approaching climax that promised to eclipse everything that came before.
“Tell me when you’re close,” he coaxed between labored breaths, the raw desperation in his voice combined with the sensation of him hitting your sweet spot was too much.
“I... I think I’m-” Before you could even finish your sentence, that familiar tension burst within you. Pleasure came rushing back in waves, soaking every pore of your being as a bead of sweat traced its way down your brow.
Nick grunted, riding the waves with you as he felt your euphoria in the clenching around his cock.
His rhythm faltered, a groan tearing from his throat as his own climax overcame him. He held onto your thighs tightly, buried deep inside you as he twitched and pumped warmth into your body.
After a moment spent catching his breath, Nick gently pulled out and collapsed next to you on the mattress. His arm immediately slipped beneath your head, pulling you into his warm, strong embrace.
You nestled against him, burying your face into his chest as you kissed his skin, adorning him with praise and admiration. Both of you laid there a moment, endorphins flowing as he held onto you tightly, rubbing his chin along the top of your head.
"Wow," he eventually murmured, his chest vibrating against you while you hummed an echoed response.
It wasn’t before long you felt a few tears trickle from your eyes and onto his chest, and Nick hugged you closer.
“Thank you,” You whispered, and Nick held the back of your head tightly against him, facing the ceiling as he whispered words of love and adoration into your hair.
"Thank you, beautiful."
His heartbeat against your cheek was comforting, rhythmic, and already held a familiarity that set your heart at ease. He was breathing heavily, in post-pleasure ease, and his chest expanded and contracted against your own.
You could feel the dampness of sweat on his skin, smell the musk of it on the air – this was a new side of Nick- utterly alluring.
"Loving you... being loved by you... this is something I'll never get used to," Nick admitted quietly after a while, his voice sounding slightly hoarse.
You shifted to rest on your elbows, look over at him and seeing the soft glow in his eyes even in the darkness of the room. "And I don't want to."
Smiling faintly, you ran a hand along his chest, "I'll forever be in awe of the fact that I get to be with you, Nick. You're the most patient, understanding person I've ever known. I've never felt so loved and cherished in my life... thank you for tonight. Thank you for making me feel like I’m worthy."
Nick grinned broadly at your words, sitting up to kiss your forehead.
“I have never wanted someone as much as I want you- and I can’t wait to love you forever.”

We're a Family
Summary: You and Natasha are taking your first vacation since the birth of your 5-year-old daughter. While you and Natasha are off on a romantic getaway to Paris for your anniversary, how will your Avengers family handle watching your daughter for the weekend?
Pairings: Natasha Romanoff x Reader
Genre: Fluff, Comfort, Romance
Word Count: 4.3k
Warnings: Some mentions of grief.
A/N: Thank you so much for the positive feedback on Come Home to Me! I hope to keep writing as I feel inspired and have time. This story takes place after the events of Endgame. Tony survived defeating Thanos with the Snap, and Steve brought Natasha back after returning the Soul Stone to Vormir.
“Are you sure this is a good idea?” Natasha questioned for the third time that Friday morning as you gathered the last essentials for your 5-year-old daughter to take to the Avengers Compound. You and Nat were taking your first vacation together since your child's birth in celebration of your wedding anniversary. Understandably, your wife was struggling with the idea of leaving your daughter. It was all you could do to convince Natasha to drop her off at preschool, let alone leave her overnight.
“Love, we’ve talked about this. It’s only for the weekend. Mila is going to have a great time. Besides, there is nowhere safer for her than surrounded by Avengers. You trust them with your life,” you remind her reassuringly as you rub gentle circles on her back.
“Exactly. My life, not my child,” Nat muttered.
It had been five years since you gave birth to your and Natasha’s daughter. Your whole world changed from the moment you both laid eyes on her. Soon after, Nat transitioned into semi-retirement with guidance from Clint. She was still available for consultation and recruit training or if the situation was dire, but you and Mila are her number one priority now.
You heard little feet padding down the hall as your daughter entered your bedroom. Her red curls bounced up and down on her head. “I'm ready, Mommy and Mama!” Mila squealed.
“Oh, Moya Lyubov, you look so pretty! Did you dress yourself this morning?” Natasha asked, getting down to her level.
“Yes! I wanted to match Auntie Yelena!” as she showed off her mini black vest that Yelena made her for her last birthday, worn expertly over her pink tutu.
“Auntie Yelena is going to love it, sweetheart. You’re going to have so much fun with your aunts and uncles this weekend,” you said, hugging her tight.
After packing your luggage in the car, you drive to the compound. FRIDAY greets you as you exit the main elevator. “Good morning, Ms. Romanoff, Ms. Y/L/N.” The team is awaiting your arrival in the common room.”
“Thank you, FRIDAY,” you replied as Mila let go of Natasha’s hand and ran ahead of both of you, having been here several times already in her young life.
As you enter the room, you see Wanda and Vision in the kitchen, and the smell of freshly baked cookies wafts through the air. Peter and Kate are playing video games, Bucky and Sam are playing cards with Clint, and Steve is quietly reading Moby Dick.
“Little spider!” Yelena called out as she entered the room, and Mila ran into her arms.
“Auntie Yelena! Do you like my outfit? I got dressed all by myself!”
“I love it, malayshka. It's so much cooler than Mama’s outfit,” Yelena says as she side-eyes her older sister with a smile. “We are going to have so much fun this weekend.”
“Yeah, about that,” Natasha interrupted. “Mission briefing in five.”
Mission briefing?" you asked, confused. "Nat, we're going on vacation, not a stakeout.”
“Yes, but they have the most important mission of all, watching our daughter,” motioning to the group before you.
Your heart warms at how protective your wife was—the Black Widow. She was a woman who would run into a collapsing building or intercept an alien invasion without batting an eye, but the moment she became a mother, everything changed. She vowed to give Mila everything she never had as a child. To break the cycle of uncertainty and pain that the Red Room forced upon her. Truthfully, you were so proud of how far Natasha had come. From growing up believing love was for children to giving nothing but love to both of you.
The living room came alive with spirited debate as Tony and Bruce burst through the door. Their voices layered with excitement and frustration over their latest nanotech calculations. Pepper trailed closely behind, an amused smile playing on her lips.
“Hey, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, park it,” Natasha declared.
“Ah, Rushman, wonderful to see you as always,” Tony says, winking at Nat. She rolled her eyes in response as Tony and Bruce hugged you before sitting down, and Pepper picked up your daughter.
“Come on sweetie, do you want to go play with Morgan?” Pepper asked.
“Yay!” Mila cheered as they walk down the hall to Morgan’s room.
“Okay, here are some quick dos and don’ts for this weekend. No guns, no repulsor rays, no arrows, and no using our daughter as a beta test subject for any new experiments. When Thor gets here, no Asgardian beverages in front of our child. Mila’s bedtime is 7 pm, and she likes it if you do the characters' voices when you read her bedtime story. If she has trouble falling asleep, a lullaby usually does the trick. Got it?”
“Geez, this is almost as bad as Budapest,” Clint whispered to Kate.
“It’s going to be alright, Natasha,” Wanda reassured. “We’re a family. You know we would do anything for that little girl. Please, go and enjoy your anniversary. No one deserves some special alone time more than you two,” Wanda said, as she hands you a tin of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies for the trip.
You put your arm around Natasha and kiss her cheek. “Wanda is right, my love. Mila will be fine.”
Just as you complete the sentence, Mila runs back into the room. “Mommy, Mama! Morgan has Puss and Boots: The Last Wish, and we will watch it tonight before bedtime.”
“That sounds like so much fun, sweetheart! I know you will be a good girl for your aunts and uncles, and Mommy and Mama will see you on Sunday night, okay? We love you so much.” you said.
“Okay, Mommy. I love you!” She said as she hugged you so tight. Natasha knelt to kiss your daughter on the cheek and squeezed her hand three times. Their unique way of saying I love you. After one last hug and kiss, you walk to the Quinjet. Tony had offered one for easy and convenient travel.
*^~^*
By the time you arrive at your hotel in Paris, it’s almost dinner time. After sightseeing, you two enjoyed a gourmet candlelit dinner under the Parisian moon and a romantic stroll under the stars. When you returned to your room, you received a text message from Clint with a photo of your daughter asleep on her bed—lovingly cuddled under a blanket with Yelena.
“See, she’s okay,” you said lovingly as Natasha smiled at the picture of her little girl and her little sister.
As you lay in bed that night, you feel more grateful than ever to be here with the love of your life. Both of you had learned firsthand to never take anything for granted.
You were one of the lost souls left behind after the Blip. Struggling with the loss of your loved ones, you began attending Steve’s Brooklyn Support Group once a week. It was after one of those meetings that you were first introduced to the Black Widow.
Natasha hesitated at first to let anyone in. She was too scared to lose anyone else and was convinced that nothing should take away from her commitment to bring everyone back. However, she still found any excuse to attend Steve’s meetings. Whether that was to bring homemade peanut butter sandwiches for the snack table or shyly offering to give you a ride home.
You weren’t a hero or a super soldier. You didn’t remind Natasha of the guilt she carried over the last five years as the fallout from the Blip continued. You were just yourself, which Natasha loved the most about you. You began to visit her at the compound, and slowly but surely, the walls came down for both of you.
When she told you about the Time Heist, you didn’t want to hear it. You couldn’t comprehend the thought of losing Natasha, but you knew she believed in her heart that she owed it to everyone they had lost to try. When Clint returned from Vormir alone and dropped to his knees, so did you. Grief overtook you all over again.
As the Battle for Earth became inevitable, the team hid you in a safe house off the grid. Days went by and you lost track of time, stuck in your grief and unaware of what was happening. It wasn't until a knock on your door awoke you in the middle of the night that you dropped to your knees again. This time in shock at the sight of Natasha on your doorstep. Tears streaming down her face, she told you they had won. Tony defeated Thanos with the Snap, and Steve performed a miracle by bringing her back upon returning the Soul Stone to Vormir.
So much life has happened since then. You were married in a beautiful autumnal ceremony shortly after Nat returned and bought your house. Five years ago and twelve hours of labor later, you welcomed your daughter into the world that your wife sacrificed herself to save. You couldn’t believe how much you loved them both. Returning to the present moment, you gently move a strand of Natasha’s unbraided red hair away from her face. Her hands move effortlessly to the nape of your neck, and you lose yourself in her touch.
*^~^*
It’s Saturday morning back at the compound, and Mila is eating blueberry pancakes when Clint strolled in from his morning workout.
“Hey, squirt! Those pancakes look amazing. Did Auntie Wanda make those?” he asked, reaching for the extra plate of pancakes on the counter.
Before Mila can respond, the plate glides quickly away from him, enveloped in Wanda’s red magic. “Auntie Wanda did make those, but they’re only for adorable little girls named Mila. Is your name Mila?” Wanda said to Clint with a raised eyebrow.
“No,” Clint grumbled.
“Then make your breakfast, Hawkeye,” Wanda sighed, patting him on the back.
After breakfast, Sam and Bucky take Mila outside to play. Meanwhile, Steve is working on a mission report in his room when FRIDAY interrupts his concentration. “Mr. Rogers, I’m picking up an elevated heat signature from your shield just north of your location.” Steve looked curiously out the window to see Mila giggling as she slid across the grass. She is sitting on his overturned shield, pulled by a rope tied to the back of Red Wing.
“My shield is not a toy!” Steve yelled out the window.
“Oh, hey, Cap! It does make a great sled, doesn’t it?” Bucky answered, pretending not to hear what his best friend said, as Sam laughed out loud.
Steve shakes his head to hide his smile. You meant the world to him, having spent countless hours processing your grief together in that dark and dank recreation room in Brooklyn. He was honored when you and Natasha asked him to be Mila’s godfather. His shield was made from Vibranium, after all. If his goddaughter wanted to play with it, he knew no harm would be done.
That afternoon, Peter arrived at the compound to work on his newest suit upgrade with Tony. Mila is engrossed in coloring at the kitchen table with Auntie Kate when Peter walks in to get a soda.
“Hey Mila, what are you up to?”
“Coloring, do you want to help us?” Mila asked happily.
Peter nodded, and they got lost in her Disney Princess coloring book for the next twenty minutes. After adding pretty sparkles to Elsa’s Frozen dress, Mila noticed Peter’s Spider-Man suit sticking out of his bag.
“Pretty!” Mila said with wide eyes.
“You like it?” Peter asked.
“Yes, is this how you fly? Mama says you can fly!” Mila exclaimed.
“Something like that,” Peter chuckled and tousled her hair.
Down in the lab, Tony had been waiting for Peter to arrive for half an hour. Unusual, as his protege was typically annoyingly punctual. Running out of patience, Tony asks FRIDAY for Peter’s current location.
“Mr. Parker is in the kitchen with Ms. Bishop and the young Ms. Romanoff, sir.” Tony rolls his eyes as he trudged up the stairs.
“Hey Hawkette, have you seen Peter? He was supposed to — “
Tony stops as he sees Peter swinging from the ceiling with Mila on his back. Kate was too busy filming the spectacle on her phone to notice Tony standing there.
“Wee!! Faster, Uncle Peter!” Mila shouted as Peter’s web carried them across the room to the top of the bookcase.
Tony’s eyes follow the pair around the room. He put on his best poker face, “I won’t tell Romanoff or her better half, but if you break it, you pay for it. That includes the kid.” Tony warned.
“Sure thing, Mr. Stark,” Peter gives Tony a thumbs up.
“And for God’s sake, at least put some pillows down on the floor!” Tony hollered as he walked back to his lab.

You and Natasha took a Saturday evening cruise down the Seine River in the city of love. It was magical. When your phone alerted you to an incoming FaceTime from Carol, you had seen the Musée d’Orsay the Notre Dame Cathedral and had just reached the top of the Eiffel Tower. You swiped, her face appearing on the screen.
“Hey, you two, I just wanted to let you know that I’m going to be on Earth-616 tomorrow for a meeting with Fury and thought I’d drop in on my favorite couple. Wait, where are you?”
“Paris, for our anniversary! Our first vacation alone in over five years. Can you believe it?” you said giddily as Natasha put her arms around your waist and lovingly kissed your cheek.
“Wow, that’s wonderful! Where’s your little mini-me?” Carol asked.
“With the team if you’re going there anyway, could you just make sure that everything is good with Mila?” Natasha inquired.
“Of course. You know you never have to ask.”
“Thank you, Carol,” you gratefully respond. We’ll be back tomorrow evening, so I’m sure we’ll see you then.” Carol gave you a mock salute before you ended the call and put your phone back in your coat pocket.
“You look so beautiful, dorogaya. After all this time, I still can't believe you’re mine.” Nat waxed poetically as she removed her scarf and wrapped it around your neck. Natasha could not look more beautiful in the glow of the Eiffel Tower. You decided this is the perfect moment to give her your anniversary gift. You slowly hand her the red velvet box you had snuck into your satchel. Her green eyes went wide at the sight of it.
“Detka! We said no gifts this year. This trip is gift enough,” Nat facetiously scolded.
“I know, but I still wanted to do something special for you,” you said sheepishly.
Natasha opens the box, revealing a simple, delicate gold heart locket necklace. Upon opening the pendant, she is greeted by a candid photo of all three of you. Clint took one during your last visit with his family in Iowa. Nat was sitting on Clint’s front porch with a smiling Mila on her lap. You are leaning behind her with your arms wrapped lovingly around her neck. It quickly became one of your favorite photos of your small yet precious family.
“This is so beautiful, Moya Lyubov. Can you put it on me?”
You moved Natasha’s braid away from her neck and clasped the necklace in the back. The heart locket fell directly on top of her own heart. It looked perfect on her. You're not sure who leaned in first, but your lips met in a kiss that made your stomach flutter like it was the first time. You couldn’t be happier than you were at that moment.

The Sunday morning sun was slowly breaking through the compound windows. Yelena was pouring your daughter a bowl of Cheerios and singing along to the sound of American Pie from her phone when The God of Thunder entered through the Bifrost. Mila jumped and started to hide behind her Auntie Yelena but ran toward him when she realized only her Uncle Thor was materializing before them, leaving his trademark on Pepper’s Persian rug.
“Must you do that every time? You’re becoming more of a poser than my sister.” Yelena remarked.
“Of course,” Thor said nonchalantly. “It is the only entrance fit for the God of Thunder.”
He lifted Mila with one arm, “Odin’s Beard! You’ve gotten so big since I last saw you, Mila,” Thor declared
“I know! Did you bring me a present Uncle Thor?” Mila squealed.
“Yes! Now, let’s see here… Asgardian Ale, Mead, no… ah, here it is!” He handed the little girl a small snow globe set in gold with her name engraved elegantly on the base.
“Wow. Pretty snow globe….” Mila whispered.
“It is indeed,” Thor said, sitting cross-legged on the carpet before the little girl. “This is a special Asgardian snow globe. Look, see the rainbow bridge inside it?” He pointed. “Most importantly, Lady Mila, if you shake it, I shall be there in a flash. If ever you need me, I will be there.”
“Thank you, Uncle Thor!” Mila said as she wrapped her arms around his neck. I’m going to show it to my Teddy Bear!” Running to her bedroom.
“You spoil her, you know,” Yelena stated with a smirk, as she began to clean up the kitchen.
“I know, but she is such a grand example of goodness and joy in such a tiny human. She deserves the world.” Thor declared.
Carol arrived shortly after lunch. After a short meeting with Fury in the conference room regarding upcoming mission targets, she finds your daughter in the compound courtyard. She is wearing her vest to match her favorite auntie as Yelena demonstrates the newest tricks Fanny has learned.
“Roll over! Good girl, Fanny!” Yelena praised the dog. Mila takes a treat out of her vest pockets with her tiny hand and tosses it to the Akita.
“Well done, Mila! Before you go home tonight, I will show you what else you can hide inside those pockets,” winking at her niece.
“Fruits and veggies, right, Yelena?” Carol deadpanned as Mila ran over and jumped into Captain Marvel’s arms.
“Auntie Carol! When did you get here?” Your daughter giggled.
“Just a little bit ago. I talked to your Mommy and Mama last night. They miss you and can’t wait to see you when they get home tonight,” Carol shared before kissing your daughter on the cheek.
*^~^*
As the sun started to sink on the horizon, casting a warm glow over the ancient city of Paris, you found yourself immersed in the rich history of the Louvre museum. You had eagerly anticipated this moment, and after spending the afternoon exploring the countless treasures within the museum's walls, Natasha was determined to ensure you had the chance to lay eyes on the iconic Mona Lisa. As you weaved your way through the bustling crowd of tourists, Natasha's determined presence caused a path to effortlessly clear before you as she kindly asked them to move the fuck over.
You returned to your hotel and enjoyed a plate of chocolate-covered strawberries when Natasha’s phone dinged.
Carol: Hey, lovebirds. It's all good here. Mila is doing great and excited to see you when you return. However, you may want to check her vest pockets when you get home for some “special” presents courtesy of Auntie Yelena. 😘
Natasha giggled, showing you the text.
“The important thing is that they’re bonding,” placing a delicate kiss on her temple.
Following Wanda’s delicious Chicken Paprikash dinner, your daughter watched Frozen II. Vision attempted to explain the science behind snowflakes to her when Tony strolled into the lounge.
“Hey, kiddo, do you want to come to the lab with me and see the new suit modifications that the Jolly Green Giant and I are working on?”
“Yay!” Mila said excitedly, jumping up and down.
“Sir, Ms. Romanoff indicated there was to be no experimenting with young Ms. Mila while she is in our care.”
“Relax, chrome dome. We’re just looking at the new holographic mockup.” Picking up Mila and carried her to his lab.
*^~^*
After a few hours, Natasha gracefully guided the Quinjet to a smooth landing. As the engines powered down, she took a deep breath and gently reached across the console to grasp your hand. Together, you gazed out at the glittering lights of the team living quarters in the distance.
"Thank you for making our anniversary so wonderful," you said. "I love you so much. I know it was tough for you to leave Mila for three days, but not only did we have a beautiful anniversary, but our daughter got to spend meaningful time with her family, which she will always remember." You pressed a kiss to her knuckles as Natasha caressed your cheek.
You were right, dorogaya. This was perfect. I’m sorry I was so nervous about leaving her. I just never thought I would have my happily ever after. That little girl and you are my everything. It breaks my heart every time I leave either one of you.
“I know, my love,” you said quietly. “Now, let’s go get our daughter and go home.”
As you entered the compound, the air was filled with shouting and the excited barking of Fanny and Lucky. Natasha instinctively reached for her spare Widow Bites, but before she could react, both of you heard the unmistakable sound of your daughter's laughter. Following the noise, you entered the common room to find your daughter joyfully running through the compound. She was wearing her pajamas and had one of Tony’s Iron Man helmets perched on her head while clutching a can of whipped cream. Yelena and the rest of the team were in hot pursuit, with puffs of whipped cream trailing behind her as she raced through the room.
Kate skidded to a stop in front of both of you. “Oh, you guys are back. Awesome! Umm, we made ice cream sundaes for dessert. Mila enjoyed hers, as you can see”, Kate motioned, breathing heavily.
Mila took her last lap around the couch when she caught sight of you and Natasha.
“Mommy, Mama! You’re here!!” she squealed, running into Natasha’s arms.
“Hi, Moya Lyubov, we missed you so much!!” Natasha said as she wrapped Mila in a big hug before passing her to you to do the same.
“It looks like you had fun with your aunts and uncles this weekend,” removing the helmet and brush a red curl away from her eyes.
“I had so much fun, Mommy! I got to eat yummy food, ride a sled, fly, and Auntie Yelena helped me hide special treasures in my vest pockets. Oh, and I got a magic snow globe with my name on it!” Your daughter rambled happily.
Natasha looked at you slightly skeptical, wondering if your sweet little girl was exaggerating. With your family, you were never quite sure.
“Wow, that sounds amazing, kotyonok!” Are you ready to go home now?” Nat asked as Mila gives you her best puppy dog eyes.
“It’s okay sweetheart, we’ll come back and see everyone next weekend. Why don’t you go get your Teddy bear?” you suggested.
“I’ll help her with her things,” Yelena said, scooping up your daughter and walking to her bedroom.
“We can’t thank all of you enough for taking such good care of her. I know she would stay here forever if we let her.” You said as you move through the group hugging every one.
She is always welcome here, you two know that.” Wanda said, confident she was speaking for the entire team.
A short while later, Mila emerged with her unicorn backpack, followed by Yelena, carrying more bags than she had when you dropped her off. You couldn't help but shake your head, knowing the team had showered her with gifts. Natasha crouched down to Mila’s eye level, tenderly placing her hand on her back. “Can you say goodbye and thank you to all of your aunts and uncles, dorogaya?” she asked. Mila made her way around the room, hugging everyone. It warmed Natasha to witness her family showering your daughter with so much love and affection.
Mila drifted off to sleep only five minutes after being placed in her car seat. Upon returning home, Natasha carried her to her bed with the utmost care. She tenderly laid Mila down, ensuring she was tucked in snugly, and then, both of you gently kissed her forehead before quietly slipping out of the room. You decided to postpone the unpacking until the following day, feeling too exhausted from the long journey. In the bedroom, Natasha was sitting in bed, engrossed in a book with her reading glasses perched precariously on the edge of her nose. The day's fatigue faded as you turned off the bathroom light and joined her in bed.
“I couldn’t have asked for a more romantic anniversary, my love,” you admitted as you carefully removed her glasses from her face and gently kissed her lips. “But there is nowhere I would rather be than at home with you and our beautiful daughter.”
“I couldn’t agree more,” Nat said, returning the kiss.
As Natasha drifted into slumber, her mind wandered back to the tumultuous path that had brought her to this moment. She couldn't escape the memories of her past—a life of manipulation in the Red Room with no autonomy and the unending pursuit to cleanse her conscience of the bloodstains it bore. But then came the shot that Clint didn't take and the chance that Fury did. Her deeply unconventional yet cherished family culminated in the arrival of you and your precious daughter. In these precious bonds, Natasha Romanoff found the strength to thrive and, at long last, find peace.

First Getaway - Arber Xhekaj
Summary: Arber and Y/n go on their first trip together.
Words: 844
Arber wasn’t exactly an experienced traveler. Y/n knew that going into this trip, but she hadn’t anticipated just how amusing it would be. When she suggested a weekend getaway to Banff which was a mix of cozy cabin vibes and outdoor adventures Arber had enthusiastically agreed. His version of preparation, however, didn’t meet Y/n’s standards.
The night before their flight, Y/N peeked into his duffle bag and raised an eyebrow. “Arber, do you even know where your toothbrush is?”
“It’s in there… somewhere,” he said, flashing her his boyish grin. The same one that usually got him out of trouble. “I think.” He said to himself.
She sighed dramatically before fishing through the bag. “Right, and I’m sure this single hockey sock and… is this a pack of instant noodles? These are your essentials?”
“I like to be prepared,” he said with a shrug, leaning down to kiss her forehead. “Don’t worry, I’ll be fine.”
The airport was its own circus. Arber insisted on carrying both their bags, determined to play the role of a gentleman. But his massive frame and her oversized carry on made navigating the tight spaces an ordeal.
“Excuse me, sorry, coming through,” he mumbled as he bumped into nearly every person on the plane. Y/n trailed behind him, biting her lip to keep herself from laughing.
“I’m too big for this plane,” he muttered once they finally reached their seats.
“Or you’re just clumsy,” Y/n teased, sliding into the window seat.
“Probably both,” he admitted, nudging her knee with his as he settled in.
By the time they landed and drove up to their cabin in Banff, the scenery took their breath away. Snow covered mountains surrounded them, and the small log cabin, nestled between towering pine trees, looked like something out of a winter postcard.
“This is… wow,” Arber said, stepping out of the car. His hands rested on his hips as he took it all in. “You outdid yourself, Y/n.”
“I know,” she teased, grabbing her bag. “Now come help me unpack.”
Inside the cabin, Arber’s excitement quickly turned into chaos. He couldn’t figure out how to start the fireplace, leading to a heated debate (and lots of laughter) as they both struggled with logs and matches.
“Are you sure this is safe?” Arber asked, holding the matchstick like it was a stick of dynamite.
“Positive,” Y/n replied. “If you don’t burn the cabin down.”
Eventually, they managed to get the fire going, and the warm glow filled the room. Arber sprawled out on the couch, looking smug.
“See? Told you I’d figure it out,” he said.
“After, like, ten tries,” Y/n shot back, tossing a pillow at him.
The next morning, they decided to go for a hike. Y/N had picked an easy trail with scenic views, but Arber still turned it into a competition.
“Bet I can beat you to that rock up there,” he said, already jogging ahead.
“Arber!” Y/n called after him. “It’s not a race!”
“It is now!” he yelled back, laughing.
Halfway up the trail, the competition shifted to a snowball fight. Y/n managed to hit Arber in the chest with her first throw, and he dramatically stumbled backward like he’d been wounded.
“You got me,” he groaned, sinking to his knees.
“Stop being so dramatic!” Y/n laughed, grabbing another handful of snow.
As soon as she turned her back, Arber launched a perfectly aimed snowball at her, hitting her in the back.
“Hey!” she yelped, spinning around.
“Just getting my revenge,” he said, grinning as he backed away slowly.
By the time they made it back to the cabin, both of them were soaked and exhausted. They spent the rest of the day cozied up by the fire, sipping hot chocolate and playing card games. Arber insisted he didn’t know the rules to most of the games, but Y/n quickly caught onto his strategy of making up rules as he went to win.
“Arber, you can’t just declare yourself the winner because you have the biggest hand!” she said, laughing as he spread his cards out.
“Why not?” he teased. “I think it’s a solid rule.”
That evening, they cooked dinner together or at least tried to. Arber was in charge of chopping vegetables, but his knife skills were basically nonexistent.
“Arber, that carrot is supposed to be in slices, not… whatever this is,” Y/n said, holding up a messed up chunk.
“It’s abstract,” he said. “I’m an artist.”
Despite the chaos, they managed to put together a surprisingly good meal. They ate by candlelight, sharing stories and laughter until Y/n couldn’t remember the last time she’d smiled so much.
As the night wound down, Y/n leaned into Arber’s side by the fireplace, her head resting on his shoulder.
“I think this might be my favorite trip ever,” she admitted softly.
Arber kissed the top of her head, his usual cocky smirk replaced with something softer. “Yeah? Just wait till our next one. I’ll even remember a toothbrush.”
She laughed, shaking her head. “I’ll believe it when I see it.”

Word Count: ~5.3k

You get your period a week later and it sucks. It usually sucks but this time it’s just the awful cherry on top.
There were times in years past when you praised the heavens you even got it at all. Now you don’t even have a reason to worry about it being late which seems extra cruel. Like pressing on a too fresh bruise. Your biology is taunting you by just doing its natural job. You hate to continue stewing on the topic when you and your partner have essentially come to a dead end on it. Do not pass Go, do not collect 200 zenni, no baby- now or ever.
The worst part is that Piccolo hovers when he returns from training. It’s worse than it usually is.
“Get over here, you big dork.” You kick off your blankets from the pathetic little nook you’ve created on the couch.
“You don’t feel well.” Piccolo almost pouts (he’d never admit to it, play it off as his general bluntness.)
“I’d feel better if my big strong boyfriend came over here and squished me.” You try to entice.
Worst feeling of all is that he hesitates. You know it’s because he’s worried about you not feeling well- he likes to be helpful when you need him. So enticing him into snuggling up with you means he isn’t quite available like that.
Admittedly, your relationship has hit a rough patch. Really, not much changes- you’re just sadder. You’re not sure Piccolo understands abstract grief, if he quite understands grief at all. Sex is a little rocky, but Piccolo’s sex drive kind of depends on yours. He still holds you at night while you sleep and he meditates.
It’s no one’s fault. Well, you wouldn’t blame Piccolo.
You decide you need a weekend getaway together. Planning it gives you something to do while you’re too miserable to do anything deemed more important. You can look at beaches and mountains while you’re curled up in bed or the couch while you wait for the pain reliever or heating pad to do its work. You book a cabin for when work isn’t going to be busy and hope the world isn’t exploding or whatever then.
You also decide to make the weekend as ‘normal’ as possible. You pack Piccolo clothes that aren’t his gi, even if he’ll probably just end up wearing it anyways and drive to your destination.
The two of you are settling into your vacation lodging. You’re doing something in the kitchen, probably snacking- Piccolo finds something else to do when you’re eating usually. He starts putting the things you’d packed for the weekend away in the set of drawers in the bedroom.
Halfway through, he finds a little purple velvet bag he doesn’t recognize.
Inside is an egg. It’s squishy but still has a bit of firmness to it and is swirled with different shades of green. On the wider side it has a little tail with a loop at the end.
It’s clearly either a new acquisition or something you’ve never shown him. The latter would be odd, he’d seen a lot of your stuff when you’d moved into him. You even showed him your smutty alien romance books. “What’s this?”
Your eyes widen at the toy in his hand.
“I thought, maybe.” You pause to collect your words, fidgeting a bit. Why are you nervous? “I thought maybe we could try… roleplay?”
“I don’t think I know what that word is?”
“It’s like … pretending? But during sex… to make it more interesting?”
You’ve had to teach him pretty much everything about sex. This is a new one. The squishy egg thing is still unknown. “So what’s this for?”
Your cheeks are flushed. “I thought we could … pretend. It goes … in me?” Piccolo cocks his head, appraising the piece of silicone. If his eyes were lighter colored, you’d see his pupils dilate wide. “It’s a silly idea, we don’t have to.” You say hurriedly.
Piccolo wraps a hand around your forearm to pull you closer. “Can we try it now?”
It flusters you for a second. “Yeah, big guy. We can try it now.”
You need a moment to emotionally prepare yourself and clean up your snack. Plus you had an extra surprise planned for this. Piccolo retrieves extra bedding from the linen closet and makes a “bed”- little more than a nest of pillows and blankets in the main room. He worries about making a mess in the actual bed so this will do.
You seem nervous when you join him, which is odd for you. You’ve always been the more confident one when it comes to bedroom activities. Even so, you smile at the little bed he’s kneeling in. It’s reminiscent of the beginning of your relationship, when he didn’t have a bed. “I’m not wearing cute undies.” You squeeze your fingers.
“That’s okay.” He doesn’t really care about your underwear choices, getting to see you in anything is great. He’s not particularly a connoisseur of women’s underwear.
You shrug. “I thought it’d be fun… for this.”
“You can change if you want.” Piccolo is plenty patient after all.
“It’s alright… We might need lube though.” You glance back at the bedroom. Before you can go to retrieve it yourself, Piccolo extends his arm to snag the bottle of lube you’d packed in your bag. It’s tossed to the perimeter of the bedding.
“I need help with what I’m supposed to do.” Piccolo holds the little egg carefully between two fingers.
You shake your head. “We can just do the regular stuff. We don’t have to do that.”
“I want to. Don’t you?” Piccolo cocks his head at you. You bought and packed it to be used right?
He watches you hesitate, picking at a piece of dry skin on your bottom lip. He pries your hand away before you can make yourself bleed. “I guess I’m just not… ready.”
“Not ready now or not ready until later?”
You shrug. Piccolo feels like he’s messed up. You’re a planner by nature- you probably had something planned and it’s thrown you off that he’s launched you straight into it.
He sets the toy down next to the bottle of lube, deciding to forget about it for now. It might get lost in the sheets all together anyways. “Will you come lie down with me? I bet you’re tired from traveling, huh?”
Before you climb into the little love nest, you shuck off your sweatpants. Your underwear are not as ghastly as you seem to think they are. A simple practical pair. He has a feeling that you had something “sexier” picked out, made of lace and straps. Your bra has been long since shucked off after arriving at your vacation lodging.
You’re always up for a nice cuddle and he is right, you are tired. He rubs at the base of your neck and you practically purr. Maybe a nap would do you good and you’ll be right and ready after.
“Lay on your stomach for me?”
You look at him skeptically, but logically you know your partner isn’t one to cause mischief. You tuck a pillow under your head and turn over.
Laying on your stomach, in nothing but a pair of panties. Piccolo’s goal is to make you more comfortable.
He skips your lower half for now- you might need him to work out those muscles after fun times. Although it might be fun to pin you down and make you stretch your leg muscles while you squirm underneath him, Piccolo currently aims to actually accomplish his goal.
Maybe later though.
You’re always complaining about your back hurting, usually a result of sitting improperly while you work. You sigh as he works his thumbs into the knots.
Slowly he works his hands up your back, over each segment of your spine. Piccolo spends the most time on your neck and shoulders. It’s where you’re holding the most tension. You do a very convincing job of enticing him to continue, groaning and sighing.
Rubs his thumb into the base of your skull. You seem properly relaxed, laying slack in the floor bed.
Piccolo slides a large hand from the back of your neck to under your jaw. Very gently he lifts your head so you look at him above you.
“Hey Big Guy.” You smile lazily at him. Anyone else should be far more afraid with his hand around their throat. He ducks down, a little to the side to force you into a kiss. The position of the kiss forces him to drape over you, careful to not squish you too much. “Want me to touch you more?”
You squirm, arching against him. You like it when he uses his size and weight against you. He’s usually extra careful about it but there are times when he can use it to his advantage. “Y-yeah, Lo.”
Piccolo thinks you just need him to take the lead tonight. People outside of the relationship probably assume Piccolo is the more dominant of the two of you. He’s bigger and stronger, he’s the “man.” In some ways it’s true, but more often than not you’re the one guiding the situation when it comes to the bedroom. He yields to you when it’s needed.
He runs his knuckles over the crotch of your panties. “Here?”
You nod wordlessly, lifting your hips as a means to entice him further. It’s not like it’s hard either.
Back in the beginning of your relationship, you were quite concerned about taking ‘advantage’ of the Namekian- despite him being a more powerful being but you being the more experienced person. Tonight, he’s the one making sure everything is on track and fun.
You lift your hips so he can pull off your underwear, finally leaving you fully naked for him. You’re already wet, not enough but more than your body’s natural wetness.
He starts slowly, just barely touching you, splitting your folds with the back of his fingers. Clearly you’re pent up from the lack of intimacy in the relationship recently. Now that Piccolo thinks about it, he doesn’t think you’ve had any alone time either.
Piccolo has learned he’s good with his fingers. It’s not hard to bring you towards release with them. Only very rarely does he deny you of it, but not today.
He might be relatively novice, but he did have a pretty good teacher. Works his fingers in and out of your spasming walls. Tucks his unoccupied hand around your hip and under you so he can rub circles around your clit. The position is a little awkward for that but it’s enough stimulation.
Lying on your stomach gives him ample access to the sensitive spot inside you. He does wish he could see your face better in this position, but you’ve buried it in the pillow.
He watches you grip at the pillow and the linens beneath you. All those muscles he worked so hard to rub out go tight, tight, tight and then finally, go completely lax.
When he pulls his fingers out of you, he finds that the fluids left behind are clear and sticky. He unceremoniously wipes it in the bedding. You’re laid slack, trying to catch your breath, “All done?” Piccolo asks, rubbing gently where the back of your thigh meets your butt cheek.
It takes a second before you can calm your breathing, or maybe find your voice. You turn your head to look at him, seemingly thinking for a minute.
“Can I give you a blowjob?”
Piccolo makes a face. He’s never quite understood the appeal of that. Sure, your mouth is warm and wet like the entrance between your legs but one doesn’t have teeth and doesn’t involve sticking his dick into where you breathe from. You’ve admitted you don’t mind him not particularly liking them.
But you’re asking to do it, so that must mean you want to.
“I’m not… out yet.” Aroused yes, but it’s not uncommon when he needs a little extra effort for this part.
“You know I don’t mind.” In all honesty, his anatomy isn’t too dissimilar to yours when he’s sheathed. It doesn’t quite provide the same stimulation as it does for you, but it does mean you perform similar foreplay acts on him. Usually that’s about as close as he lets you get with your mouth, using your tongue on his slit.
Like he’s learned how to satisfy you, you’ve learned how to for his body. A little coaxing with your fingers and he slides right out for your waiting mouth. You guide him to grip at your hair, seeming pleased when he takes a good fistful. Bobbing your head with a nod and humming around him.
Eventually you dare to go deeper, he’d probably barely notice it he couldn’t feel your gag reflex reacting to the intrusion. You’re going slow enough that it’s not a problem.
It’s hard to keep his hips still. Despite his logical mind being weary of this act, the baser part of his instincts do very much want to grip you by the skull and drive his cock down as far down your throat as it can go. Hard. So he just grips at your hair a little tighter.
Piccolo thinks you’re doing a very good job at trying to be enticing. At your height difference with this position, you can’t even reach the hilt, but it’s enough. But it’s hard to watch you struggle, even if both of you are seemingly enjoying it.
“I’m not going to … finish like this.” It feels good, sure, you’re very good at whatever you’re doing with your mouth. Maybe it’s a mental thing. He’s let you have your amusement.
“You wanna come inside me?” You coo sweetly, continuing to mouth at his shaft. He grunts, tugging your hair again, this time to try to redirect you to the next part.
A little giggle bubbles out of you, before you flop back into the blankets. If it wouldn’t mean practically tackling you, he would have caught you to make sure you don’t bump your head.
“The toy can’t go in before…” You kind of nod your head. “Maybe after, okay?”
Piccolo nods. “What else should I do?”
“Just dirty talk I guess. Say what you wanna do to me with the toy.” Piccolo ponders. He’s never been quite good at that part. “I can help with it, bud.” You add, easing him back into your little love nest.
You decide to be on top- another uncommon occurrence in your bedroom activities. Piccolo’s hips are hard to accommodate in this position and you don’t always have the endurance in your hips and knees to keep up with it. The position lets him slip deeper than any of them, the blunt end of his cock nudging against the plug of your womb. Makes you gasp.
“Too much?”
You rock against him. “Jus’ gotta get used to it. Can feel you all the way here.” You pet across your lower stomach.
He should have been more diligent about keeping you stretched out, even if you aren’t actively having sex in recent times. But it really only does take a moment and then you’re putting in a valiant effort to bounce on his cock.
“You wanna put the egg in me? Deep like this,” you guide his hand to press into the fat of your tummy. “Right here?”
Oh this is the Roleplay thing.
A growl rumbles deep from his chest. Your eyes go wide and your hips stutter in response. Then you surge forward to kiss him a little too eagerly and he has to catch you so you don’t smash your face into his. It’d likely hurt you more than him.
Like this your movements turn more into grinding than bouncing. He flexes his hips to push himself deeper into you. “You want it bad too, huh?”
“Ye- yeah, Lo.”
He takes the initiative and grabs you to flip both of you over. It makes you squeal in surprise. For a moment, Piccolo loses himself in the fantasy. He almost believes that if he indeed tried hard enough, he could fuck you hard enough that it would take. (If he weren’t mostly concerned about how you feel wrapped around him, he’d wonder where that urge comes from.)
Piccolo knows you’ll stop him if he’s being too rough. Your fingernails trace the ridges on his arms. They dig in as you try to hang onto him, it doesn’t really hurt as he has thicker skin, but he is aware of the feeling.
You’re perfect. Warm, tight, clenching around his cock. His partner, mate, whatever. Love of his life. Future mother of his-
It should give him pause, but instead it hits him like a train. “You just gotta come for me big guy.” You lock your legs around him best you can. It should be embarrassing, how easily you can coax him into an orgasm. But how could it be when you’re so very convincing?
It hits hard, cumming feels like he’s been wrung completely dry. For all the resolve he’s put into training his muscles, now they seem particularly useless. He goes slack on top of you.
Piccolo is heavy. It’s rare he rests his full weight on top of you to prevent actually squashing you. You like it though. At this moment, he needs it. Needs to stay inside you for a little bit longer, so close there’s no difference between where you end and he begins.
“It’s not often you’re the one tired out after one round.” You coo, breathily. It’s hard to catch your breath when your giant boyfriend is doing his best impression of your weighted blanket.
Piccolo's stamina has nothing to do with this, even if it was particularly intense.
You shiver a little when Piccolo pulls out, unplugging your entrance and letting his fluids dribble out of you. It’s noticeably a lot more than usual- clear evidence of the lack of intimacy between you two as of late.
You whine at the feeling, attempting to clamp your legs together. Or maybe because your boyfriend is openly staring at your pussy. The evidence of his climax is clear as day. “You didn’t come.”
You shrug half heartedly. “I was close.” You once explained to him, sometimes it just doesn’t happen. That’s probably especially true when your partner comes embarrassingly fast. “We weren’t supposed to be done after you’re finished.”
You half roll over to rifle through fabric, procuring the items deposited there. The little toy- the egg and the lube. It’s a little bigger than a chicken egg. “I can do it if you don’t want to.” No, he definitely wants to do it.
“I can do it.”
You give him a little nod. Reassurance for you or him, he’s not sure. “Just push it in gently with your fingers. Not too deep, I don’t want to struggle getting it out.”
Some sick part of Piccolo does like the idea of that. Maybe a larger one, that you have to push and push and push to free it from your body. It slides in easily with some lube and the mixture of your fluids. He watches you clench around the silicone toy.
“How does it feel?” If he pressed his fingers into the flesh of your pubic mound, he could probably feel it inside of you if he pushed hard enough. That’d probably be uncomfortable so he just caresses there firmly.
You whimper, your hips twitching to meet his fingers. “It’s just kind of a pressure. Feels full- Good job, you did a good job.”
Piccolo’s cock twitches to life again, it hasn’t sheathed yet. That feral feeling has twitched to life again too. Hauls you into his lap so he can notch against your hole.
“Careful!” Your hips jump a little, he’s not sure if you’re trying to retreat or seek more stimulation.
He cocks his head at you. “We gotta… complete the goal, right? Can’t just put the egg in you.” He keeps a hand splayed across your pelvis. You whine, head bobbing a little. Your eggs have to be fertilized. It doesn’t make sense- he doesn’t even produce sperm. Piccolo knows he can’t penetrate you now, you told him such and he knows how to listen. “I won’t go in, just… close enough.” He pushes against your folds. It’s slick and you’re just getting wetter.
He can't help but be entranced by the way you clench around the toy. That must be the point of the toy, to put pressure on your g-spot without actual penetration. The simulation of a part of his own biology is just an added bonus. He wonders if you could keep it inserted throughout the day another time. Will you want to use the toy again? Or is it just for this special occasion?
Your back bows more and more while he rubs practiced circles against your clit. Gently, he pushes his fingers back into you to press the toy harder against your walls. He's being careful, keeping the little tail tucked between them. “Do a good job for me too. Come for me .” You whine again. Now that he’s got his fingers inside you he can feel it, clenching tight tight tight. Keeping an even pace with his other hand around your bud.
“Wait-” You cry but it's already too late. The wave comes crashing over you and with it a tidal of fluids gushing out of you. “Oh shit-”
Piccolo pushes forward and replaces his fingers inside you with his cock, not in- just enough that the blunt head is pushed in a little. You struggle to find purchase somewhere to hold on, but it does prove helpful as you touch all over his shoulders and arm and chest. All it takes him is one and then two firm strokes of himself and his own wave comes crashing over him.
“Good job.” He groans as he rides through his own second orgasm. You shiver when he pushes himself through your folds once again. He rewards you with kisses pressed to your face.
Piccolo rolls off you this time- sparing you the full body contact. You cross your arms loosely over your chest, he watches it heave as you come back to your brain. Gives you a minute or two before he sits himself up to move on to the next part. “Are you going to lay here for a while?”
You roll over a little, cringing at the feeling of the cooling fluids between your legs. It's all over you honestly. “We should clean up- I gotta get this thing out of me first, it can’t stay in for too long.”
“Do you need help with that part?” He did put it in after all, he could have pulled it out when he had his fingers in you before. That might have proved to be unsatisfactory at the moment however.
“No it’s easy enough to remove- it’s why it’s got the tail. I just gotta-“ You roll over fully so you can sit up. You wobble a bit, your legs and hips and likely your whole body turned to jello.
Piccolo wraps a strong arm around your shoulders to steady you. You make a noise somewhere between a hum and a groan, knocking your forehead against his shoulder. “Dizzy?”
“A little.”
“Take your time.” He can hold you for as long as you need.
You take another moment before reaching between your legs. You’re trying to take it slow, either prolong the feeling or delay the ending all together. Maybe next time you’ll let him feel you doing it, or even do it himself. You grunt a little. He hears a soft pop as you pull the toy out of your entrance.
You pull your face away from where your forehead rested against his shoulder. There are a few wet lines running the lengths of your cheeks. You’re crying. “Did that hurt?” Piccolo thumbs at a fat tear.
You jerk back, like you’ve been startled. “No, it’s fine.” Your voice betrays you, cracking. You turn your face away, hiding it as you wipe away the tears.
“What’s wrong?”
“S’nothing, it just happens sometimes. Hormones or something.” You shrug. You’ve never cried after sex before, not with Piccolo at least. Maybe a tear or two that escapes during pleasure, but not like this.
“You’re really okay?” You nod with your face hidden in your hands. “… you’ll feel better if we get cleaned up. Do you want a bath, shower?” You probably feel pretty gross.
You deflate. “Not right now.”
Piccolo resorts to picking you up to go to the bathroom. Lets you use the toilet in private while he retrieves clean things for you both. Forgoes any of the pajamas you’d packed for yourself and picks out one of his shirts instead. His clothes usually end up in your wardrobe eventually, although it has grown significantly since the two of you started dating. He also grabs a bottle of water from the fridge.
He hears the sink running when he returns. Steam billows up from the faucet, indicating you let the flow heat up. You just stare at it.
Piccolo picks you up again, setting you on the counter which makes you shiver. Puts the bottle of water in your hands. “I’m sorry.” He’s partially apologizing for you being cold, but maybe also the other stuff.
You shake your head. “Not your fault. I thought it’d be fun.”
You don’t seem particularly motivated to actually get to the task at hand: cleaning yourself up. It’s alright, he can do it.
He’d seen you fish your toiletries bag out of your luggage when the two of you’d first arrived. First, he turns down the temperature of the water to wet a washcloth. Hands it to you with some of your face wash deposited on the cloth. Hopefully it will help calm some of the splotchiness on your face from crying.
Rinses the cloth thoroughly after you hand it back. He only lets you clean your face since it’s easier, he has big hands and doesn’t particularly want to poke you in the eye. To help, he does a diligent job of wiping between your legs. “You didn’t enjoy it at all?”
Your eyes go wide- for a second he thinks you might start crying again. “I did- it felt good- I just-“ You’re not close enough to starting your period again for you to be feeling like this. Cracked open like an egg, raw.
“Shh, deep breath. I’m not upset.” Piccolo smooths a big hand over the side of your face. He’s just worried he pushed a boundary he didn’t quite know existed.
You lean into him, which is a good sign that you’re not upset or uncomfortable by him. “The sex was fine. I just-” you worry your bottom lip with your teeth for a second. “I thought we could find satisfaction with the toy.”
“I pushed you to use it before you were ready.”
“I’m the one who bought and packed it. I thought I’d be fine with playing and then I had to- I didn’t think it through all the way, Lo.” You sigh. Piccolo rubs your temple. He’s only so good at the soothing part.
“We’ve been naked too long.” You grumble, pushing off the counter after a few minutes of silent comforting. You go grab a dry towel. He watches you in the mirror as you dry off. He cleans himself and washes his hands, you set to work on putting your clothes. Well you pick them up from where he set them on top of the toilet.
“You know I’m not just… sad right?” You fiddle with your underwear. “I’m trying not to be but it’s not just being sad. It’s grieving, but not like if I lost something or someone. Like I’m grieving something I’ll never know.”
Piccolo doesn’t know what to say.
“It’s okay if you don’t understand.” You’re idling to put your clothes on still, so he’s able to pull his pants on before you even step into your underwear.
You’re used to this part in your relationship. Sometimes Piccolo needs time to process and learn what things actually mean. Right now it feels like it’s never been this severe.
He pulls his shirt from your grip, deciding to let you put your underwear on. Maybe he’s letting you keep that boundary, even if that really doesn’t make much logical sense. Pulling it over your head for you.
You decide to skip the underwear all together once you stick your arms through the sleeves. “I’m going to go to the bedroom, okay?”
Piccolo follows, much like he always does.
“You can go out if you want.” You tuck yourself into the duvet on the bed. Youre likely going to take a post sex nap. You were ready to have a good cuddle and take a nap before everything. The emotions probably didn’t help on that front either.
Piccolo frowns. You’ve been offering that more, letting him leave when you’re planning on resting or even just sleeping at night. It was fairly common in the beginning of your relationship. Back then he didn’t always hold you when you slept, but he did often stay with you at least.
He knows he’s absolutely going to not do that. He slides into the bedding with you. Slots a thick thigh between yours and wraps his arms around yours. His fist settles against your sternum so he can feel your heartbeat. His other arm pillows your hands head, you give his palm a kiss before you interlock your fingers with his.
The position forces you to settle, like he’s wrestled you into a nap. Instead of following suit and closing his eyes, Piccolo watches you as you lie in his arms.
“Bud, you know I can’t sleep if you’re staring.”
“Sometimes, I miss you. But not because I haven’t seen you, I miss you like you’re… gone.” There will be someday when he will never see you again. Piccolo will outlive you and he’s never realized that's what he’s feeling.
You’re feeling that for something, someone who will never exist.
“I wish… I could give you an …egg? Maybe just a baby, I guess.” He’s decided to try a new game of Pretending.
You’re silent for a moment. “You’re lucky I don’t mind, that's as weird as it sounds.” You make a plucking motion at him, pretending to eat something. “How would that even work? Swallow it and puke up a baby?”
It wouldn’t. It’s not possible anyways but he lets you entertain it. Maybe he is too.
“… I think you’re the weird one.”
“Alright, Green Bean.”
Piccolo pinches your thigh, makes you giggle. “I thought you were napping?” Ignore the fact he’s the one who is keeping you up to begin with.
You yawn. “I wish … we had takeout.”
“I can get it for you.”
“I want it to just magically appear though!” You make a tiny pinching motion with your fingers again. “You should make a tiny set of dragon balls- for the silly things. Like the size of marbles.”
“Ours are the smallest set. You do know they aren’t always used for serious stuff.”
“For Chinese food though?”
Honestly, the dragon balls have been used for less for serious stuff- like resurrection of people or planets and more for things like Bulma’s cosmetic alterations, woman’s panties. Piccolo shrugs. “I guess probably not that.”
“See! We need tiny ones, maybe there’d only be like… four. The dragon could be … a snake. Wait then they’d be snake balls.”
Piccolo rolls himself over onto his back, still keeping you close. “I need to meditate to forget this conversation.”
You snort. Your silly little game (annoy your boyfriend for your own amusement) has been won, even if you were the one playing it. He sees you open your mouth to say something again, but covers your mouth before you can. “Nap.”
You settle again now that your mood is lighter. Still a little sad, but you might always be. You silently decide that next weekend trip or getaway will probably include Pan.

Shadow: Rouge, we said just the essentials. Rouge [with five suitcases waiting outside her house]: And I brought just the essentials. Shadow: You did? What about that sequin dress? Rouge: Hey, there’s a full moon this weekend. This sparkles so much I look like a princess. Don’t you like your big sister being a princess? Shadow: This trip is going to feel so long… Come on, let’s go. [grabs a couple of suitcases to help her] Rouge: And no need to thank me, because I managed to get the trip for free. Shadow: Free for real or like when you took my credit card for my birthday? Rouge: I pulled some strings and got us a camper van on loan. Freshly washed. No one would guess they used to cook meth—Little innocent and legal things in it. Shadow: …I’m not so sure about this countryside getaway. Knuckles [runs over]: The countryside???? You’re going to the countryside??? Take me, please take me, take me, take me— Rouge: Knuckles, no! This is a trip for two. Like Thelma and Louise. Shadow: And maybe it'll end the same way. Knuckles: Well, you could really use me there. The countryside is treacherous. What if a badnik comes after you? Shadow: Why would the doctor attack that godforsaken place? Knuckles: I don’t know, I’m not interested in psychoanalyzing that jerk, I just like punching him. Rouge: Knuckles, we’ll go another day if you want. I only got tickets and an itinerary for two. And Shadow needs this after— Shadow [nudges her with his elbow] Rouge: After… his thing. Knuckles: Oh yeah, I get it. If I had your life, I’d wanna disappear into the woods too. Shadow: Like yours is something to brag about… [Phone rings and Rouge picks up] Rouge: Abe? Yeah… No, but I said— I can’t, it’s a family emergen—How much?? [looks at Shadow]: No, no, I— Well, tell him to fire me if he has the ball— Shadow [grabs the phone]: Abraham, what do you need now? [glances at Rouge and sighs]: I’ll do it. She’s on vacation. Yes. [sarcastic]: I'm gonna have the time of my life too, so spare that vocabulary. Goodbye. [hangs up] Rouge: Shadow, what are you doing???? Shadow: You’ve been stressing all week over my problems. You deserve the trip. Take Knuckles, he’s itching to go. Knuckles: Itching to go where? Shadow: To go to the countryside! You were being annoying about it a second ago! Knuckles: You’re going to the countryside???? Can I go, can I go, can I go—? Shadow: I don’t think I did you the favour I thought I was… Rouge: Shadow, hun, the trip was for you. And you’ didn't stress me-- Shadow: Yes, I did. Besides, I’m sure working will help me forget about… what's on my mind. [At GUN, Shadow heads to the floor where Abraham’s office is. Sonic is there talking with him] Shadow: What are you doing here? Sonic: Hi to you too. Abraham: Shadow, Sonic’s going to help with the mission we had for you. [to Sonic]: It was for Rouge, but she’s on vacation, so here we are. My condolences. Sonic: Oh, I was already bracing myself for horror when I agreed to help you. This is a nice surprise, actually.

Set Sail for Love
Characters: Jake Kiszka x Fem!reader
Word count: 1,549
Warnings: Smut. Sex. Penetrative sex. Fluff. So much tooth rotting fluff.
Jake had always loved pirates. He wasn’t just casually into them—he lived and breathed everything from buried treasure to sea shanties and pirate lore. So when his birthday was coming up, you knew exactly what you had to do.
You were going to give him the ultimate pirate-themed birthday… and a surprise trip he’d never see coming.
The day started normally—Jake woke up to the smell of cinnamon rolls wafting from the kitchen. You greeted him with a grin and a paper pirate hat on your head.
"Oh Captain my Captain" you said in your best singsong voice.
Jake laughed, still groggy. “Oh no. What have you done?”
You giggled and sat next to him “Happy Birthday Captain” You grinned
“Only what any good first mate would do,” you said, handing him a parchment-style scroll sealed with wax.
He raised an eyebrow, unrolling it carefully. It read:
Ahoy, Captain Jake!
Ye be summoned for a grand birthday quest.
Follow the map, find the clues, and claim yer treasure.
X marks the spot, but beware… adventure awaits.
Yer loyal first mate,
Me ♡
Jake looked at you with that crooked smile you loved. “You really made a treasure hunt?”
“Oh, this is just the beginning,” you said with a wink.
You handed him a satchel containing a faux leather-bound journal, a compass (plastic, but still cool), and the first clue. What followed was a mini scavenger hunt around your house—each clue leading to a different room where he’d find pirate-themed trinkets and tiny gifts. A bottle of rum-flavored root beer, a T-shirt that read “Talk Pirate To Me,” and a pair of socks with tiny pirate ships on them.
At the final clue, he opened a small treasure chest (which you had painstakingly painted gold) to find a rolled-up boarding pass. He stared at it for a second, then back at you.
“A cruise?” he said slowly, reading the details. “To the Keys?”
You grinned. “A pirate-themed weekend getaway. There's a ship tour, a treasure hunt, and even a pirate costume party. We leave tomorrow.”
Jake just stared, stunned. “You planned a pirate birthday vacation?”
“I did,” you said proudly. “Because you’re my favorite pirate, and every pirate deserves an epic birthday quest.”
Jake threw his arms around you, nearly knocking off your paper hat. “You’re unbelievable. This is the coolest thing anyone’s ever done for me.”
The two of you spent the rest of the day celebrating—Jake wore his new pirate shirt, you played sea shanties on a speaker, and you even made a “plank” in the living room he had to walk (which ended in a pillow pile, thankfully). That night, you cuddled up watching Pirates of the Caribbean, and he didn’t stop smiling once.
As he drifted off to sleep, wrapped in your arms, he mumbled, “Best. Birthday. Ever.”
And you knew the real adventure hadn’t even started yet.
The next morning came with a buzz of excitement in the air—and caffeine. Lots of caffeine. Jake packed his bag in record time, tossing in his pirate socks like they were essential survival gear. You’d already printed out your boarding passes and stashed the travel-sized sunscreen (because even pirates get sunburned).
As you drove to the marina, Jake was practically bouncing in his seat. “Do you think they’ll make us walk the plank if we’re late?” he asked, grinning.
“Only you, Captain. I’ll be sipping piña coladas and pretending I don’t know you,” you teased.
When you arrived, Jake’s jaw dropped. The cruise ship wasn’t just big—it was decked out in full pirate glory. Black flags with skulls fluttered in the breeze, and costumed crew members shouted “Ahoy!” as you boarded. The air smelled like saltwater and adventure.
You checked into your cabin (with a porthole view, obviously), and inside was a little surprise waiting: two pirate costumes laid out on the bed. You’d rented them weeks ago. Jake’s had a long coat, a sash, and even a fake sword. Yours was sleek and dramatic, with a wide-brimmed hat and knee-high boots.
He turned to you, eyes wide. “You thought of everything.”
You smiled, tossing him his hat. “Ready for your birthday weekend, Captain?”
He saluted. “Aye, First Mate. Let’s plunder some buffet tables.”
The cruise kicked off with a themed welcome party. People were already in costume, drinking out of tiki mugs shaped like skulls. There was a live band playing sea shanties, and Jake somehow knew every word to “Drunken Sailor.” You danced, laughed, and even joined a limbo contest (Jake lost spectacularly, blaming it on “peg-leg energy”).
But the highlight of the night came when the cruise director announced the Treasure Hunt Challenge—a ship-wide puzzle-solving race with a prize for the winning team.
Jake turned to you, eyes sparkling. “We have to win this.”
You smirked. “We will win this.”
The next day was pure magic. The two of you ran around the ship, collecting clues hidden in barrels, behind lifeboats, and inside the ship’s pirate museum. You solved riddles, talked to actors dressed as ghost pirates, and found yourselves crawling under tables more than once. It was silly, chaotic, and honestly kind of romantic.
By sunset, you stood on the top deck, holding hands as the last clue led you to a hidden chest near the bow. You cracked the lock with the final code.
Inside was a tiny golden trophy that said “Ultimate Pirates,” and two free spa passes.
Jake held it like it was real treasure. “We did it,” he said with a grin. “I mean, of course we did.”
That night, you watched the stars from the ship’s balcony, wrapped in a blanket, sipping rum-spiked hot cocoa. Jake looked over at you, quiet for a moment.
“You know,” he said, brushing hair from your face, “I’ve always loved pirates. But this… this made me love us even more.”
Your heart melted. “Happy birthday, Captain,” you whispered.
He leaned in, forehead against yours. “Best crew, best first mate, best birthday of my life.”
And somewhere, far below the waves, even the sea seemed to smile.
The final day of the cruise dawned with sunlight streaming through the porthole, painting golden stripes across the sheets. Jake stirred beside you, hair tousled and arms still wrapped around you like the world outside didn’t exist. You brushed your fingers down his back gently, not wanting to break the spell too soon.
“Morning, Captain,” you murmured, voice sleepy-soft.
He groaned dramatically. “Tell me it’s not almost over…”
You kissed his shoulder. “Not quite. There’s still one more surprise.”
That got his attention. He sat up, eyes narrowed with suspicion and delight. “Another one? You’re relentless.”
“You love it,” you teased, slipping out of bed to grab a small envelope you’d stashed in your bag. “One last quest.”
He took it, examining the wax seal stamped with a tiny anchor. “You really committed to this pirate thing, huh?”
“I had to keep up with you.”
He opened the envelope and pulled out a photo—an old map printed on the back of a polaroid you’d taken the night before, smiling in front of the trophy chest. Below it, written in your handwriting:
One final treasure for the Captain. Follow the map. Bring the compass. Trust your First Mate.
Jake stared at it for a beat. “Okay. I’m officially obsessed with you.”
You just winked. “Then let’s get dressed.”
After breakfast, you led him off the ship and onto the island port the cruise had docked at—an actual pirate-themed resort built into the cliffs. Hidden coves, hammocks strung between palms, fire pits and stone pathways… it felt like something out of Treasure Island. You followed the little trail you’d mapped out days ago when you booked everything, compass in hand for the theatrics, until you reached a tiny private beach at the edge of the resort.
Waiting in the sand was a weathered wooden trunk—yes, a real one—half-buried beneath driftwood and shells. Jake looked from you to it in stunned silence.
“You didn’t,” he breathed.
“I did.”
He dropped to his knees and opened the trunk, hands shaking with laughter and disbelief. Inside, nestled on top of sea glass and old parchment pages, was a leather-bound photo album titled Captain & First Mate: The Voyage So Far. The first page was your favorite picture of you two from your very first vacation. From there, it chronicled everything—snapshots, ticket stubs, scribbled notes, concert wristbands, polaroids taped in haphazardly but full of joy.
Jake stared at the pages like he was looking at buried treasure. And then he turned to you, glassy-eyed.
“This is everything,” he whispered. “You are everything.”
You sat beside him, pressing your forehead to his. “I wanted you to remember that no matter where we sail, I’ll always be your First Mate.”
He cupped your face, kissed you soft and slow, and said, “Marry me.”
You blinked, breath caught.
“I mean it,” he said, the kind of steady sincerity that made your whole body go still. “Not because of the cruise. Not because of the treasure hunt. But because I don’t ever want another birthday, another adventure, another anything, without you.”
Tears pricked your eyes. “Jake—”
“I didn’t get a ring yet,” he added, half-laughing now. “I thought I was being the romantic one with the socks and sword. But... I’ll get one. I just— I can’t wait another second to tell you I want forever.”
You didn’t need to think. You just kissed him again, laughing into his mouth. “Yes, Jake. A million times yes.”
Far in the distance, the ship’s bell rang out—like the sea itself was cheering.
And under the sun, in the sand, wrapped in each other’s arms, the adventure truly began.
That night, after a celebratory dinner under the stars and one too many glasses of rum punch, you and Jake wandered back to your bungalow on the beach. The moon was high, casting silver light over the water, and the sound of waves rolling gently onto shore filled the air like a lullaby.
Jake kicked the door shut behind him and dropped the fake sword he’d insisted on wearing to dinner. You were laughing, cheeks flushed from the alcohol and from everything else—the proposal, the treasure, the sheer magic of the day.
But when he turned to you, the laughter softened. His eyes were darker now, heavier with something slower, deeper.
“You have no idea what you do to me,” he murmured, stepping closer.
“Oh, I think I might,” you said coyly, resting your hands on his chest, feeling the quick thump of his heart through his open button-down.
He slid his fingers down your arms, gentle but firm, until they laced with yours. “You planned every second of this day to make me feel like the luckiest man alive.”
“You are the luckiest man alive,” you teased, leaning in to brush your lips against his.
He kissed you back—slow, deliberate, like he was savoring every second. Then his hands found your waist, and he walked you backward until your legs hit the bed. The soft thud of the mattress was followed by the rustle of fabric as he pulled your shirt over your head.
Jake’s mouth traveled to your neck, then lower, peppering your skin with kisses while his hands explored like a map he knew by heart but would never get tired of tracing. You arched into him, your breath catching as he whispered something in your ear in that deep, gravelly voice only you got to hear like this.
“Mine,” he said. “My first mate. My everything.”
You tugged at his belt, and he groaned softly, the sound vibrating against your collarbone. His clothes joined yours on the floor, piece by piece, until there was nothing between you but heat and want.
He laid you back gently, worshipfully, like you were the treasure he’d spent all day searching for. His touch was both reverent and hungry—trailing down your body with soft, wet kisses and slow, purposeful fingers. You gasped, hips lifting to meet him, heart pounding as he looked up at you with that crooked smile and pure adoration in his eyes.
“Let me make this the best night of your life too,” he whispered.
And he did.
With the ocean murmuring just outside and the stars watching overhead, Jake moved with you in a rhythm that was all your own—slow and deep, every motion soaked in love and tension and the thrill of knowing you’d just promised forever.
You reached the edge together, breathless and tangled in sheets and each other, skin slick with sweat and kissed pink from hours of touch. He held you tightly afterward, your head tucked under his chin, his heartbeat steady beneath your palm.
“You know,” he whispered, lips brushing your forehead, “I thought today couldn’t get better. But this? This was the real treasure.”
You smiled sleepily against his skin, utterly full—in every way. “Happy birthday, Captain.”

Bts reaction: travelling together
KIM NAMJOON
He sees you as a long term partner so he considers paying for the trip an investment
Would love it if you keep him company while he packs. Plays music in the background. Asks your opinion about your clothes.
Packs an extra hoodie which he has noticed you love even though it's old and worn out.
When you're actually travelling you'll be keeping the important things safe eg his passport and boarding pass and the currency etc
He'll gladly let you be in charge.
That doesn't mean he won't help out whenever he can. He's always ready to talk to the information desk or anyone you need him to.
KIM SEOKJIN
Most likely to surprise you to a weekend getaway.
It's probably a stay cation at a cabin in the woods. In the soop vibes.
camping, fishing, barbecue, driving
He's got it covered.
You're probably going to eat well. And just reconnect with nature.
There is nothing hectic about the trip. Its very soothing. Just spending time with your favourite person.
Infact he's most likely to agree to involve your mutual friends or even non-mutual friends. It's about having a good time.
MIN YOONGI
The hotel is going to be nice. Swimming pool and breakfast buffet included.
You're going to end up going to a very obscure destination. You may or may not have heard of the existence of such a place but he's totally prepared so you can rely on him.
From medicine and guide books to emergency money. He's totally prepared..
Yoongi loves trying local food and local art/souvenir stores.
You're getting couples items. Will be sad if you loose them. Will treasure them forever
Wants to see the electrical appliances shop just to check out more music making appliances.
Totally do whatever you want to do. If you want to visit a lot of places he'll accompany you but if you just wanna chill he's equally happy.
JUNG HOSEOK
Mans a planner. So dont be too surprised if he plans everything like before and after.
You are going shopping before the trip. Matching couples pajamas and sheet masks and keychains and shoes (or maybe no shoes considering the Korean superstition that if you give shoes to your lover they leave)
He's packed and ready days before the trip.
Will judge you if your luggage looks dirty.
Probably prefers guided tours. You're going on every extra activity too.
Unless it's something scary. He's not going on a roller coaster. He'll take your picture though.
There's going to be a lot of pictures and videos. And you're going to wear couple outfits all the time.
PARK JIMIN
A lot of plans but just wants to lie down and hang out by the pool or a scenic place unless you have a set itinerary
But if you want to laze around will convince you to go out because you haven't spent all this money just to stay in a hotel room.
Will randomly pull you in alleys to steal kisses.
Loves walking around and shopping for souvenirs for everyone
Enjoys having you all to himself.
Will pout if you don't pay him attention.
Loves exploring the night life.
KIM TAEHYUNG
There for the vibes
Room service king
Expect odd hours, driving around a sports car, a whole lot of music and singing and dancing randomly.
Will serenade you impromptu
Very calm. Nothing can phase him..
Loves taking pictures of the scenery.
Enjoys the vacation thoroughly. He's swimming, snorkeling, making funny videos.
The only thing is he's not eating anything spicy. Likely half his luggage is ramen
JEON JUNGKOOK
Most likely to make a Travel blog
Will try to convince you to go to every thrill seeking activity. Meticulously plan a fun trip that can be enjoyed by both of you.
There will be Random gaps in that itinerary to lounge around
Despite everything he's a last minute packer his list of essentials is a bit unhinged. More like to forget a change of clothes than his speaker.
Laundry fairy 🧚♂️ ✨️ 💖
Very content to lounge around and just skip the itinerary.
Loves trying different foods and plans to make some at home.
