“Fuck!” Wade yelps - fingers closing around nothing, as his shoulder slams hard against the tree, “This is like trying to catch goddamn water.”

“Mist.” Logan grunts. Eyes still fixed on where you disappeared - your molecules rearranging just as Wade had trapped you.

His partner’s eyes roll, as he braces against the tree, “Yeah, super appreciate you pointing that out.”

“No, fuckface. They turn into mist, “ He sighs, You said water.”

“God, what an ending,” Wade hums, “You know, I almost got kicked out of book club for saying the movie was better? Talk about bleak.”

They’re wasting time. Logan’s nostrils flare, trying to catch your scent.

A week has passed since they were ordered to track you down. Chasing you through the small city, and then deep into the forest. So many near catches, as you slipped right through their fingers.

It was maddening, the way you escaped each time. The way you had worked your way into their minds, taking up space.

“Can you focus?” He snaps, “It’s like you didn’t even read the goddamn brief.”

“Did you?” Wade’s hands brace on his hips, as he shivers, “Garamond makes my dick feel weird.”

Logan’s head shakes, but it’s just the move he needs - catching the sweet, unmistakable aroma that follows in the wake of your disappearance. Taunting him - winding through the trees, towards an outcropping of rock.

“Come on,” His head tilts, “Can’t keep it up for too long.”

I'm back!

Tldr at the beginning so you don't have to read: I was on Tumblr before, I left, I'm back. I like Typology, MDZS, DSAF, PJSK, and Vocaloid. I'll make a real introduction later.

I've literally posted and deleted like 5 posts trying to reintroduce myself to tumblr. Once you spend years on TikTok, where if your post doesn't get at least a few likes within the first 30 minutes it's a failure and you delete it, it's kinda hard to kick the habit of instantly deleting posts out of embarrassment.

Anyway! I've come here to resurrect my corpse of an account. I made this account when I was a young teen and excessively delusional, posting about a disorder I thought I had but didn't, then when I gained a small sliver of a connection to reality and realized I didn't have the disorder I felt shameful and guilty, apologized for accidentally faking a disorder, then deleted all my content and moved far away from this website. I moved to posting strictly on TikTok, much more toxic from my experience, but I managed to fit myself into a small bit of a community. I didn't talk much due to being shit at talking online/over text, but I had a couple of mutuals and got a decent amount of traction for my Typology/enneagram content. I've been homeschooled since covid and have had zero chance to interact with anyone other than my immediate family for multiple years now, so it felt like I was sorta being social.

I'm back due to the fact my dad spontaneously blocked TikTok on our wifi, and with it, basically blocked the small semblance of a social life I had developed there. I use my YouTube to post only synth V covers (very rarely, I'm not the most confident in my covers so they mostly sit finished but never posted), I'm never touching insta again, and twitter (or ig X now?) is itself, so I decided to move here.

How tf did I even use this site back when I was younger?? I guess I had way less shame and social anxiety online, when I was on TikTok I was afraid to even comment, hell near 2020-2022 I was afraid to even like videos. Here reblogging is very important, I might just die. I will try my best to force myself to reblog posts I like and actually keeping my own posts up for more than 5 seconds until I get used to it.

Billy loves Gordon Ramsey. Like so much. Out of the three of you, he's probably the biggest fan. On the outside he plays it cool, but on the inside he gets giddy when Gordon rips into someone.

If you bring up the idea of a horror movie with a chef as a slasher, prepare for some notebooks, alcohol, and snacks being busted out while you guys sit in a circle on the bed bouncing ideas off each other, laughing, and just shooting the shit. You have a blast staying up into the AM just coming up with the plot, characters, etc. and screenwriting this faux horror flick with your boyfriends. Billy especially has fun that night and it's a memory that sticks with him forever.

Stu cried out in anguish when he found out that Jean-Phillipe was no longer the maitre d' on HK. He fucking loved that guy. JP was his bro, man ✊😔

Billy doesn't. He wouldn't admit it, and he isn't sure why he feels this way considering he's kinda terrible himself, but he's weirdly glad that Gordon is always nice to the waiters.

Kinda mirrors their killing habits tbh. Billy kills those who he felt either deserved it (Maureen, Sidney), he felt was necessary for the plan (Himbry) or both (Randy, Casey, Steve, Tatum). Stu just went along with it and didn't really care who he killed, simply excited to do it.

OR if this is an AU-AU where they didn't go through with some or all of it, then it's just bc Stu likes trolling people in general and Billy hates authority.

You can BET that Stu will wanna go visit Hell's Kitchen. He knows if you go you aren't guaranteed good service or a meal, but he wants to go just to watch Gordon in action.

Stu will also wanna visit the more bougie restaurants that the winners get to work at. Like the minute all three of you have the time, ya'll are going.

Billy wants to actually learn how to cook the perfect risotto. If he succeeds this goal (and he will eventually bc this man is patient and determined af), you can expect it everytime he cooks from then on lmao.

tbh, the whole 'what does Team Cap think about this mess?' thing in TWiFFON is...something I had originally been torn about, and everything that's been happening ever since means I keep finding myself going "do I have the energy to tackle this? lol no".

For some context, because you probably know my stance on this sort of thing but I prefer redundancy just to make sure we're on the same page: once upon a time, I honestly, genuinely did like the Avengers. All of them, and yes, that included Wanda [...for less than an hour, but still].

Back when I still had faith in the writers, I was constantly going "...okay, so when are these guys going to stop acting so OOC? Where tf are they planning on taking these character arcs?" and just being disappointed at each turn— but I stuck around because I liked the potential. Steve "what do you mean punching fascists isn't cool anymore?" Rogers, Natasha "my past is a tire fire and I'll just leave it at that" Romanov, Clint "where's Loki? Let me at him!" Barton and the rest of the group had their good points, and I gave myself a headache trying to figure out wtf was their thought process when the time came for them to do their thing in TWiFFON.

It wasn't fun, I only did it because it was absolutely necessary... and I still ended up receiving complaints.

Look: for me, character bashing is exhausting. I have enough going down in my life that I don't have any interest in writing it, and over the past few years I've seen more than one of the fandoms I follow/lurk in become salt mines that have me going "...okay, if you hate it so much, why are you even here?"

When I write, I try my best to emphasize the 'actions have consequences' thing I learned long before I hit puberty; but that doesn't mean I'm up for anything beyond that. Again, I used to like these characters, so seeing the levels of suffering canon— and some writers— put them through just has me stepping back for a moment.

But TWiFFON attracted a lot of people who were pretty far out there in terms of what they wanted, some of whom got very very pissy when it wasn't the story I wanted to write, which is...probably like 99% of the reason I'm still burned out on that AU. Apart from the recent personal life bs that means I am Not Up To Dealing With any hypothetical rando that shows up in my inbox, because normally I could not care less about what people think but my energy levels are. Um. Not great atm. Not sure I wouldn't bite anyone's head off if they wanted to start something right now, tbh, or just ragequit writing for a while because I have way better things to do with my time than deal with random internet assholes.

...apologies for the tangent, but now you know why that situation is one I'm normally kinda reluctant on tackling.

As for what I'd originally headcanoned:

Back before things hit the fan, I'd originally planned to have some little interlude snippets of what Team Cap's been dealing with. Mostly, it would've forced them to acknowledge that for all none of them liked or trusted Tony, he was basically just the personification of what the rest of the world thought of them.

Nobody respects them, anymore, or trusts them; Clint'd be in very hot water and sleeping on the couch for a while, and Hank Pym would never let Scott hear the end of his involvement in this whole thing because Hank hates the Stark name and the English language cannot concisely articulate just how pissed off he was that he had to publicly thank Tony.

Team Cap overall would also start to fall apart at the seams as more and more stuff came out and ey, turns out the leader they'd trusted and broken international laws for had lied to them.

By omission, sure, but honestly— do you think that'd go down well? The "oh yeah, I've known my brainwashed friend killed his parents since DC but I am not going to tell him unless I'm forced to" thing?

I don't know about you, but I for one highly doubt Sam Wilson would be okay with that. Or Clint, for that matter, and the list goes on because the more time passes, the more stuff keeps coming out of the woodwork and for the first time in years, they're forced to deal with it.

One of the things I planned to include in the sidefic can basically be summed up as "the curious case of Bucky Barnes": that is to say, what'd happen after he's taken into custody, and poke lightly at the clusterfuck we're unpacking here. Tony, feeling bad for losing control in the bunker, would basically go "shit I fucked up but I also never want to see him again but he's an even bigger mess than I am, that's a whole lot to unpack so you know what? I'm just throwing out the suitcase entirely here, have all the resources for support and help and if I ever see you again, it'll be too soon".

...to sum up, it's messy af. SI Legal would feature heavily because his particular case means he needs a team of lawyers, what with the 'former POW who's trying to recover from All The Trauma' thing, and the 'so I literally was just trying to buy some damn groceries when you guys dragged me into this', and Tony basically went "hey, so if anyone wants to help him, uh, I kinda have some interest in this one. Fair warning, dude probably killed Kennedy while mind-controlled, with our luck".

And along the way, there'd also be some of that one subplot I'd cut due to pacing issues: specifically, the one dealing with prosthetics.

Remember how Miriam Sharpe said her son would never walk again? Yeah, we'd be revisiting that: her family'd get a letter or something inviting them for clinical trials, and meet Rhodey in passing as he's using his own leg braces to get around because he's still healing. Bucky would get a few design offers for a free replacement for his arm, and it'd probably end up being a collab with Wakanda because T'Challa feels bad for his role in that mess as well.

So Team Cap would be seeing this, seeing how everyone's acting and reacting, and the way one of their own is getting all the help and support Stark Industries has to offer and realizing that yeah, they messed up. Big time.

...depending on my salt levels and how close we're sticking to canon, I was thinking this'd go one of two ways.

Either they'd double down and just go "ugh, Tony is a supervillain and we can't do anything about it!" while TWiFFON marches on and then later go "...you mean he did it by accident?!", or...

Well, canon's proven character development and continuity isn't really in their writers' vocabulary. So my original idea of 'they're forced to deal with the reality of the situation, acknowledge they messed up and slowly move on with their lives' would've been very unrealistic.

Again, most of this is intentionally vague, I had not been keen to tackle that mess in TWiFFON in the first place and the way things exploded on me means I really, really don't have the energy to do so now. Not when there's far better things I could do with my time, like mess around with AUs where people actually get along, or knit, or— well, the list goes on.

i watched loki and i gotta say, out of all three mcu series (tf&tws and wandavision), loki is the one that really feels disney 😂in a non-complimentary way. i do like it! it's just not what i thought it was, you know? but anyway i didn't come here to point out flaws. gotta say i kind of love owen wilson as a tva agent and i can see why ppl ship lokius... but also... they really tried to make them buddies didn't they? joke's on you disney, we do what we do best, we ship. and especially when you don't want us to ship we ship😂 (i can see the tenderness of it, he keeps calling loki a "broken boy" and wants to help him ahhh, give me all the comfort fics give them to me.)

Agree about the show ultimately feeling super "Disney" in the end which is a bummer because the first two eps started with ridiculous potential, like the monotonous, slightly eerie vibes in the TVA were just unsettling enough to be fucking fantastic and had that whole retro aesthetic that I love love love then there's the power shift back and forth in the Lokius relationship, don't get me started 😔 Mobius holding all the cards when they first meet but folding asap (taking Loki to Pompeii where he could've easily been overpowered by magic and / or left there to die, giving the daggers back yeah that's right love's a dagger and the Mouse™ is never gonna take that away) because of how much he cares about and respects Loki, the *chef's kiss* of the buddy cop vibes.

Obviously I'm biased because Mobius owns me but imo it would be hard to argue against his absence in ep 3 feeling like hitting pause on what was already going so well and from that point on the series felt purely like a setup for building the multiverse instead of the atmosphere of the TVA and the base of the Lokius relationship because honestly I'd rather watch the two of them talk jetskis and not so subtly gaze at each other with heart eyes ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

What got you into Star Wars?

Literally, a lightsaber being stuck into my hand, at 7yrs, and being asked to be Vader to my cousin’s Luke Skywalker. I’d never heard of SW till that moment, and I fell headfirst into the Dark Side and in love with the galaxy far, far away! Its been the one franchise that as been a constant for me, the whole time growing up, and I’ve loved having something SW to look forward to every few years. SW and Reylo lifer! 😁😁😎😎

“You are not alone.” The minute Kylo/Ben said those words, I was gone for Reylo. No true villain would give a flying fuck about his so-called adversary’s mental and emotional health. When their hands touched? I screeched in that theatre! And I may have yelled at Luke as well. Walked out and hunted for Kylo/Rey fanfics and the rest was history!

Why do you write / make art?

I do because the stories show up and make it impossible for me to do anything else but tell them. They buzz and breed and drown out all other sounds, like manic mosquitoes. They can be quite a nuisance that way, but... *throws up hands* ... I gots to do what they tell me to do! 😆

Favorite Star Wars Movie

The Last Jedi was the most beautifully written and shot movie in the entire franchise, with a depth of characterization and exploration of symbolism that was brilliant. This will always rate as the best for me. A close second, and one I will always love, is Empire Strikes Back. That was quintessential Star Wars and an amazingly good watch - snark, action, angst, love, betrayal, rescue, OMFG!

What do you like to write / draw / paint the most?

Until I started writing Reylo, I’d never been able to write fiction. I could never visualize the stories. And once I started, I haven’t been able to stop! I’ll write anything Reylo, I’ll try writing anything at least once (so, yeah, there may be dark fic as well one day!). My style defaults to either mildly angsty, or humour-laced fluff, or depraved smut. So, not sure what that says about me 😂

There are so very many in this amazing fandom! The one that I’ve loved from the beginning, though, is The Art of Broken Pieces - a beautifully written Bendemption fic.

God, this is hard! My recent favorites are Brooklyn Bridge Blues, Caught Between Beats, and A Taste For Two - I like that I’m able to explore a variety of stories and emotions through them. I’m most proud of Confidences To A Stranger because I was able to explore a storytelling medium that I hadn’t before. 

Favorite SW character besides Kylo and Rey

Padme Amidala - she reminds me of my mother and grandmother, both of whom were strong women, who got shit done, while always taking care of their people. She was a queen in more than just name. Han Solo - I am weak for a scoundrel/villain/bad boy in a leather jacket, with a hardass, snarky exterior that hides a heart of gold. The reluctant hero.💙

June 27th, 2019 the year of our Lord (whichever one that may be) I watch a spectacular movie that I can truly say that the awards won were well deserved. Hindsight: My thoughts on Loki (2021)

Spoilers below. Please correct me if I slip up. I am in no way shape or form educated on ANYTHING to do with the making of films, how to critique this stuff etc, this is all just my opinion. If I haven’t covered a scene, it’s probably because it’s already been covered much better than I can. This is my extended episode 1 review.

Episode 1: GLORIOUS PURPOSE

Pre-title scene

The scene titles looking like a train station combined with the scrolling through time is such a cool stylistic choice.

The music is familiar, but followed by an alternate shot of Loki as Cap. A different perspective of something known, how fitting. FYI, I’m going to mention music a lot.

Love how no one questions the Hulk terrifying people.

This is the last time Loki will hear Thor call his name, or speak to him. Oh darn, I made myself sad.

Marvel studios logo

The Marvel logo changing colours + Loki theme finally taking the centre stage. I love it.

The comments made on Loki soundtrack videos saying ‘I see that the Mandalorian soundtrack has become a genre’ are so accurate it hurts. Shout out to Ludwig btw, he deserves all the awards for his soundtracks.

My thoughts so far: This part is setting up the general shift in tone from what we’ve seen in past Marvel projects, even the other shows. It reaffirms the audience’s subconscious that whilst we are familiar with the characters, there’s new twists up ahead, subtle hints to oncoming mischief. Props to the entire team behind the series.

Gobi Desert Scene

As much as I liked the opening bug crawl, the following interactions look a bit CGId. I’m being picky, they really are gorgeous. It’s also difficult after having seen the Mandalorian, but that show really paid attention to scenery as it was an instrumental part of the story, whereas here it’s just one scene and all the others are stunning.

The parallels to Tony in the desert. Loki immediately rips off the muzzle (?).

I just watched the scene and yes, Tony rips off the mask immediately.

Also I think I would have definitely had a crush on young RDJ.

And Gwyneth Paltrow (GOOP LADY) if I didn’t know her now.

Props to Tom Hiddleston’s acting. Loki’s face when he sits up is just pure confusion but with the signature hint of indignation that I’d expect from his characterisation at this point.

The rock lmao.

THE MUSIC WHEN B-15 (MY QUEEN) APPEARS. HELL YEAH!

Also props to the supporting cast of minutemen, where does Marvel find these people? They’re so well choreographed, they all move perfectly and it’s a joy to watch.

Love the time doors honestly.

I couldn’t have been the only one who thought that the temp pads were Samsung phones for a sec right?

Lol is that unintentional foreshadowing about the TVA? Jk I’m just clowning.

Has anyone spoken about what the Temp pad showed?

My theory is that ‘Units’ refer to a predetermined rate of change [e.g. m/s] where one unit = one increment of change.

The steady rate of change here is interesting. I’ll talk about it more at the end of the next episode.

I love the music, just the slow ticking increasing in pace and the dramatic flares brought on by the strings (I think), simply divine. Natalie Holt got it spot on and props to Tom Hiddleston and literally everyone involved for understanding the importance of good music with this series. I’ll talk about this in depth in the next episode, just wanted to mention it when it first started that I noticed.

In retrospect, I can definitely retract my critique of the background in the scene. It holds up well now that I’ve rewatched it.

B-15 doesn’t get enough love. Shout out to Wunmi Mosaku, she’s a trooper and I’m here to hype her up.

Also y'all I just checked the cast list and ???? Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner and Tessa Thompson are on it?????? MARVEL TF IS THIS WHAT TOM MEANT BY EP 4 BEING WILD I-

Tom’s acting chops: The face moment. You know the one. It’s pretty incredible.

Theory from me: the reason that Loki doesn’t see the hit coming is because B15 was moving unnaturally fast.

It’s the immediate change in the music to reflect the audience’s reaction at the standard fight scene taking a strange turn for me lads.

B-15 doesn’t smile, which I think is in character for her.

She’s seen this shit wayyyy too many times.

We’re not even five minutes into the first ep and a) I’ve waffled this much, Gods, and b) the music has changed at least 3?? Times to reflect what’s happening. I love it.

My theory about resetting the timeline: the reset charges get rid of anything in the immediate vicinity of the branch, pretty much a mini-apocalypse of the timeline. If everything is erased, none of it matters. Does that make sense?

Taking away the Tesseract while yes, it serves a purpose with showing Loki the might of the TVA later on, also reflects how nitpicky the TVA are about their time-keeping. They do everything in a very orderly fashion, but as we see later, the outdated nature of things is very human.

The TVA - the elevator thing

Man I love the TVA’s look. Someone (and I’ve heard that Kate Herron was also very particular about the set design) went to extraordinary lengths with every single scene, not just this one, but the one before as well.

Heck I just want to appreciate how much of a visual feast this series is. Good on ‘em.

The shots changing angle is also very interesting. They switch it up between one-takes, close-ups of differing extremities and it just keeps the flow fast-paced, ya know?

Watching Loki run was hilarious.

“Sounds dumb.” - Casey, Null Time Zone.

This weird robot is what I think of when the TVA is mentioned. Advanced tech mimicking a retroistic 70s feel.

The cat’s adorable.

The clock. The cup. The placing of props. Impeccable.

The clock’s hands don’t move whilst they’re on screen.

The realisation on his face when he eyes the stack of papers.

Why is the wall so badly scratched???

I love that the signature is in character. I have a huge thing for attention to detail lmao.

Again, why are all of the walls so scratched? If they could talk, I’d presume it’s just a set design choice but it’s interesting that they did that.

Does anyone else want a TVA sweater vest?

Tickets

The opening zoom in on Loki combined with the consistent brown-orange colours of the set makes the room look uniform and encompassing. I love how the lights are always placed in a repetitive manner so rooms are given the illusion that they go on forever.

Lighting here creates depth, but whilst the lights form a ceiling, we can’t actually see how they’re suspended and I think that’s neat.

The posters. Yes.

This is the first time I noticed the different minutemen uniforms. This one’s half orange-red and black. Pretty cool imo.

Shout out to Tara Strong and the entire animation.

The butterfly was a nice hint to the butterfly effect, and the music is perfect as always.

The wooden walls in the background of this shot. How very 70s.

The reflection showing the guy getting pruned is pretty cool.

Again, another clock with no movement on the wall.

The first 11 minutes are up and we’ve made it to the title! If you’ve read this far, congrats.

1549 Aix-en-provence, France

Just speculating, we’re in a church with an initial high-angled nearly bird’s eye view and then a cut to one looking up at Mobius. I guess it means even if we think as viewers our perspective is omniscient, we’re not spared from the mystery in this series.

Who’s in the stained glass window?

I love how they tie in a detail as small as the gum. It just goes to show when you haven’t got much time, every character interaction is meaningful.

Props to Owen Wilson, he really sold Mobius to me.

Time court 37

The time court 37 really reminds me of train stations.

The chairs remind me of pews. They sure are reverent of the Time keepers.

The lighting is a cool, bluish tinge for the first time I’ve noticed. Especially on Ravonna (MY LOVE!).

B-15 knows Loki’s clowning lmaooo.

Ravonna isn’t here for it either.

Ravonna’s nailpolish is a very nice shade of brown.

Theory: Resetting is ‘being brainwashed for the TVA’. Not very original, but it’s interesting that the TVA thinks that Loki would be useful as a worker, unlike the guy who got pruned earlier.

The TVA exterior is amazing. It also extends forever in all directions, even down.

Time Theatre 25

What is that elevator music??

“I thought you didn’t like to talk” Ragnarok, anyone?

Loki reading the ‘Time theatre’ sign whilst rambling. Gotta give it to him, he’s always aware of his surroundings.

The little TVA logo on Mobius’ shirt.

Shout out to whoever did the costuming. Personally, I liked the shirts with no collars, and the armour of the minutemen and Hunters came off to me as practical but not ignorant of the branding that the TVA likes.

Theory (bear with me): Once you’re a part of the TVA, you’re not collared anymore, though there is an appearance of that on the shirts.

Seriously tho, what are those shirts like? Mobius doesn’t have a collar.

Why do the ties just… end?

Neat details:

Holo projector 35.

The lights being reminiscent of skylights but still leaving the characters in the dark. “The sun will shine on us again, brother.” Not yet.

The reflection of the projector in the table/on the ground.

Loki: *turns away.*

Mobius: *sips Josta.*

Seriously, the lighting is great. Loki moving in and out of the shadows? Great way to show his mistrust/ unease of the situation.

The illusion speech is the last time we really hear 2012 Loki in my eyes, mainly because Mobius really gets into the cracks of who Loki is and then there’s action.

The ‘I was- I am” Freudian slip is perfection.

Side note the music’s changed yet again. It’s definitely setting up the more mournful tones for seeing his mother’s death.

I find it interesting that the door is partially in the shadows.

Doors are symbols of opportunities, barriers and both death and birth from what I remember of high school English.

From what I know in interrogations the person being interrogated is allowed to sit with their back to a door. Initially, both Loki and Mobius are sideways, equidistant from the door. When Loki wants to run, he edges closer to the door, even if it is just to make a point. Excellent blocking in my eyes.

Oh man, Mobius’ little gestures.

“Always so perceptive about everyone but yourself.” I really don’t have to talk about the significance of that line, do I?

Frigga being stabbed in the back. Little solace to a dead man? Ouch. That hurt me too.

Loki’s wounds heal unnaturally fast, because he’s no mortal.

Mobius really drives home the last point. Who says ‘like you did your mother” ??? Owen sold how Mobius can influence Loki's mind.

The ‘best versions of themselves' line and showing Thor must have hit Loki hard. He spent two movies trying to prove who he is, measuring himself against Thor. And then he sees them both working together and being equals.

Loki’s escape

Wunmi and Owen’s line delivery is unforced and charged, completely in character.

Mobius looking under the table is hilarious to me.

The music.

The tidy cubicle = healthy timeline is a bit contradictory because they’re supposedly in the null time zone but okay.

Is no one going to mention the taxidermy ferret?

Loki just had an identity crisis. His ‘gut you like a fish’ seems in character.

The dude’s really questioning everything he knows lmao.

Casey’s ‘what’s a fish’ was really our first hint that not everything is what it seems to be at the TVA.

It amuses me that Loki’s on his knees when he gets the Tesseract.

I’m sure someone’s pointed it out already, but given that Loki takes back the Time Twister, it’s possible he could have stolen an Infinity stone.

Again, point’s already been made but Loki seeing the Infinity stones is what sells the power of the TVA.

Please, the rest of the office not giving a damn when one dude’s having some drama is hilariously on point. They really said ‘not my problem’.

Loki’s future

The screen on the table showing what he’s rewinding as it happens.

Btw if you pause any moment during that, you’ll see a scene.

A quick note on Loki’s characterisation:

He’s been through a lot in a very short period of time, quite literally finding out that his actions don’t have any consequences. He’s lost all autonomy, especially as a god who probably believed he was not as restrained as mortals. More on this in later Eps.

I really liked Ragnarok because it showed Loki and Thor’s maturity; they had to step out of legacies that were thousands of years old and come to terms with a universe that was much bigger than them. It also fleshed out their relationship as brothers, but not at the expense of who they were. Loki still is a schemer, and he talks more because he has less to hide in my eyes. He’s no longer just a villain, and that can’t be shown by just actions, especially in his own tv show.

Loki’s little laugh when Thor talks about giving him a hug. Man that was sad.

What shouldn’t be forgotten is that Loki doesn’t know how it ends. He doesn’t know whether Thanos gets defeated. For all he knows, he died in vain and left behind a brother with no family.

The collar says DANGER.

This is the scene that really nails it home to Loki that his purpose in life was to cause pain. He found out his glorious purpose in that timeline, he’s conflicted as Sylvie points out in Ep 3.

When Loki talks to Mobius, they’re both in medium shots. They’re on the same page.

Loki’s delivery has changed when talking about the 'illusion' but Mobius hasn’t. That may change in the later episodes.

Sylvie’s theme is similar to Loki’s but not identical.

It’s got sinister tones which change throughout the series.

I love how you can see the images of the minutemen’s past and future as they walk through a time door, they literally step through time.

Ep 1 review

All in all, this was a scene-setting episode. One of my friends texted me and said ‘Loki really went through ten years worth of character development in minutes’ and I think that sums it up pretty well. It’s a great set up, but the next episode is where the plot begins to progress. Really enjoyed it. 😡 :  Worse role play-related encounter and what advice you would give to others to avoid similar situations?

Okay so hang onto your butt ‘cause this is going to get long. ALSO heads-up there’s discussion of manipulative behavior, fictional rape/assault, and mentions of suicide.

A couple of years ago, I met this gal who wrote an OC—innocuous enough. She did sick art for her OC and it was fun to interact. I cannot recall if it was Cable or D to whom she first attached herself. We had a decent thread with D on me old blog, RadiantDecay ‘til the purge killed it. I think we picked it back up but idk…

Cable was the big one—the doozy.

So some of you know (e.g. anyone who’s written with me/read my muse sexuality/gender HC list that I have always written Cable as 100% pure grade-A home of sectional. I was very upfront about this when she clearly expressed a desire to ship with him, like, romantically.

Now, I don’t have a problem with age gap—I ship Raiden with people and he’s literally eternal so…. What I take issue with is when one muse is so very clearly WAY too immature to come close to appealing to a muse who has seen Some Shit™. Their lived experiences just cannot match up. Cable is a 50-60some time traveling gritty fuckin’ badass telepath with a giant gun and a constant headache named Wade Wilson (sometimes husband tho; depends on the day).

Turns out this gal was (probably still is) a MAJOR FC hunter. Josh Brolin (a Cable I only write peripherally) and Benicio Del Toro were her focuses (another buddy I met through her writes MCU’s collector, so there’s your Del Toro). I told her flat out Cable is gay and she was immediately lowkey hostile. She got over it though and we started writing.

Red flag much?

Thirty some odd replies in and this is shaping up a bit. We’re playing it on Providence, Cable’s island that’s made of his ship—blah blah blah—her OC has a power surge that knocks out half the computers. That was another thing about her OC. She HAD to be the strongest person in the room but also unaware of her strength except when it was interesting to the plot.

She started messaging me again about SHIPPING THEM. I said somethin’ like “he probably sees her as a daughter or granddaughter, maybe—he’s a mentor type. Also he’s still gay.” She acted like I’d never told her so I did something I rarely do and scrolled tf up, screenshotted the message, and posted it. “Yeah,” I said, “but I did.”

On another track, she decided to get into Devil May Cry. She wanted to write her OC as the reincarnation of Nero’s dead mother or something? But also wanted me to write that Vergil had raped the poor girl. Now, again, referring back to the chart, Vergil is also gay as fuck. I was also up front about this, BEFORE she whipped out the sexual assault card and even THAT I had to pry from her.

By this point our “friendship” was rocky as fuck. When I refused to write or acknowledge that, because I found it offensive, she started writing a “fuck you fic” (the channel title) in the server she named after herself and in which she gathered her “friends�� (e.g. people who played characters with those FCs). I think she booted me from the server or something idk.

Anyway there was a bunch of shit and I actually DID keep screenshots from various disco conversations (which btw I NEVER do, but holy shit this was insurance), bu the culminating thing that made me run for the hills was the night she threatened suicide via voice message she straight up sent me over discord because I refused her freaky-ass rape plot. She said shit about how I called her “manipulative” (I didn’t) and how that really hurt and something about her fucking dog? Idk. She’d also mentioned at some point that a previous Cable Rper had referred to her as a “manipulative bitch”.

HMMMMMMMMMM.

I ain’t gunna post her URL or whatever, but suffice it to say, I got a hold of a mutual friend (thank god they gave me the time of day) to tell ‘em what had actually happened, ‘cause evidently the chick decided to ghost me and then tell some WILD tales with seriously doctored screenshots to her buddies in her server. They let me tell my story and trusted me on it because evidently the screenies were HELLA sus. They also shared some really uncomfortable instances of her racism and homophobia so that was neat—this friend being a queer person of non-whitery an’ all that. Nice. I recalled that when I’d mentioned I was queer meself, she’d kind of drawn back and acted REALLY goddamn strange.

So yeah, I asked this friend a final favor and I’d bugger off if they didn’t wanna deal with me: “please tell her she needs to unblock and DM me right now or I’m going to leak every fucking screenshot I have”. I was NOT happy. I just needed her to know that I knew she was lying about me and that I felt nothing but contempt for her. I told her in no uncertain terms that if I so much as got a fucking HINT that she was fucking with this mutual friend, I’d post ‘em all on a frickin’ sideblog and tag every single person with whom I KNEW she associated.

Was I gunna do it? For this friend? Hell yes. On me own, unprovoked? No. I had and still have a strict “no bullshit” policy when it comes to call outs, burn blogs, blah blah whatever. But the threat was enough to keep her worthless trap shut. See the reason I needed her to DM me was that I’d closed the convo without realizing she’d fucked off. I now have access to it—yes even today—so if you’re out there sweaty {; fuckin’ try me~

Honestly, give folks a chance, but follow your gut and do not be afraid to have extensive fucking rules. If people are scared off by a lot of reading in a hobby that requires reading, you don’t want to write with ‘em anyway. In addition, passwords (which I have) are OKAY. There are folks with “I don’t do passwords” in their rules and that’s fine, too; they’re just not going to be your writing partner. Do not bend on that. Be patient and cordial, but if your rules say “no threads without the password” don’t bend. (obvious exception is that like, mutual friends give you the all-clear on ‘em ‘cause they know this person personally duh, but otherwise stick to your guns!)

Chandler Jones’ case for NFL Defensive Player of the Year is too strong to be ignored

Chandler Jones has a career-high 19 sacks so far in 2019.

The Cardinals pass rusher is within sniffing distance of the single-season sack record. That’s just one reason retired defensive end Stephen White would like you to pay attention to Jones already.

Do I believe Chandler Jones has a legit shot to win NFL Defensive Player of the Year this season?

No, not really.

I’m pretty sure Patriots cornerback Stephon Gilmore already has the vote locked up by now. And to be clear, if I had a vote I’m not so sure I wouldn’t vote for Gilmore, too. He has had a fantastic year, and a lot of what the Patriots do on defense is predicated on Gilmore being able to erase the opposite team’s top wide receiver from the game every single week. So hey, I get it.

But, should a late push from Jones, who now leads the league with 19 sacks, at least put his name front and center in the conversation?

Truth is, his name should’ve already been in those conversations.

Chandler Jones’ four-sack game against the Seahawks forced everybody to pay attention

As soon as I saw the news that Seahawks left tackle Duane Brown was out last week, I immediately assumed that his absence was going to give Chandler Jones the opportunity to go tf awf. However, even I didn’t expect him to go off quite like that.

Not only did he rack up four sacks on the day, but Jones also ended up with five pressures and two forced fumbles. While some of those sacks and pressures were probably directly tied to Brown being out, the truth is that several times Jones was able to get to Russell Wilson almost off outstanding effort alone. Wilson kept trying to pull his patented “wizard” act, weaving his way around and through traffic in the backfield to give his wide receivers a chance to uncover down the field, but Jones was having none of it.

It was that constant pressure that gave Jones a huge game statistically, and with the timeliness of the plays he made, he also had a massive hand in helping Cardinals pull off the 27-13 upset win in Week 16. With so much on the line for Seattle as far as playoff implications, it felt like everybody just assumed the team would “find a way” to win. Everybody but Jones and the rest of the Cardinals, that is.

In particular, Jones was an absolute monster on third downs. The Seahawks were only 1 for 12 on third-down conversions, and Jones’ pressure was a key part of stopping them on seven out of the 11 occasions where they failed. The Seahawks were well aware of Jones’ ability to wreck a game before kickoff, and yet even though they had to know with Brown out that Jones was going to be a huge threat, they still couldn’t find a way to slow him down.

Jamarco Jones, a 2018 fifth-round pick, was the guy who drew the short straw to fill in for Brown last week. Unfortunately, the third start of his career turned out to be memorable for all the wrong reasons. He was certainly overmatched, but to their credit, the Seahawks tried to send him help just about as often as they could without hamstringing the offense.

However, this was just one of those games where it just didn’t matter. Chandler was simply able to outwork everybody and make sure that Wilson was uncomfortable all afternoon. Bruh had that glow like Bruce Leeroy in The Last Dragon, and I’m sure Jamarco had to be feeling a lot like Sho’nuff did at the end of that movie.

In the battle of the Joneses, Chandler gave Jamarco that work on Sunday in just about every way imaginable. He beat him with bull rushes, long arms, cross chips, and arm overs. When it was finished and the damage was all done, you might’ve mistaken Jamarco for a Burger King, because he definitely let Chandler have it his way.

Yes, I am going to be a little petty now and remind everybody that I already told y’all Jones had this kind of season in him earlier this year. I also pleaded with everyone to start paying attention because this man is criminally underrated at this point. Now, I won’t rehash all of what I said since I already said it so eloquently once, but I’m just saying that y’all should’ve listened.

While it is impressive to me that Jones doesn’t seem affected by the relative lack of notoriety his accomplishments on the field have garnered him so far, I’m starting to get downright offended. He deserves a hell of a lot better considering he just keeps showing up every week and making plays, regardless of the circumstance. Fortunately for him, his incredible day against the Seahawks is basically forcing everyone to talk about him now.

Just so you know, only 17 other players have ever even gotten to 19 sacks in a season.

Think about that. It seems like sometimes fans and maybe even some media have an unrealistic idea about how easy it is to get double-digit sacks these days, even now that the NFL has turned into a passing league for the most part. Some of your favorite pass rushers never did. Von Miller hasn’t reached 19 sacks in a season. Dwight Freeney and Julius Peppers never did, either.

Even if Jones doesn’t touch Rams quarterback Jared Goff this Sunday, he has already turned in one of the best seasons an edge rusher has ever had when it comes to sacking the quarterback.

As I said before, Gilmore has balled out too, and I don’t want to knock him, but let me play devil’s advocate. I could point out that there are currently two other players tied with him for the league lead in interceptions with six this year, while Jones has a healthy lead in the sacks category.

Of course, you could try to point to Arizona’s dismal 5-9-1 record as a reason why Gilmore deserves the award more, but ask yourself this: If J.J. Watt, for instance, had 19 sacks and eight forced fumbles this year and the Texans’ record mirrored the Cardinals’, do you really think that would’ve hindered him from being a top DPOY candidate?

Y’all probably would’ve crowned him already!

That might seem like a random question, but it actually isn’t. See, once I saw that Jones was credited with four sacks on Sunday, I went to see where that pushed Jones up the list for career sack numbers. It turns out he has now jumped up to a tie for 41st place in NFL history with a total of 96. The guy Jones is tied at 41 with?

The aforementioned J.J. Watt.

Watt is in his ninth season, while Jones is in his eighth, by the way.

In Week 17, Chandler Jones has a chance to make NFL history

Those four sacks not only vaulted Chandler Jones into the league league, it also put him within sniffing distance of the single-season record of 22.5 held by Michael Strahan. Considering that Sunday marked Jones’ fourth multi-sack game of this season, it definitely isn’t out of the realm of possibilities that he could get close to tying the record in the last week of the season. Hell, that wasn’t even his first four-sack game this year.

Furthermore, out of the first 15 games of the season so far, Jones has only had three games where he didn’t record at least a 0.5 sack. One of those three teams that held him sackless? The Seahawks in Week 4. And we all saw how that worked out for them the second time around the season.

For the record, Jones had a half-sack in the Cardinals’ first meeting against the Rams this season, their opponent for the final weekend of the 2019 regular season. With LA being eliminated from the playoffs, there is no telling what kind of effort we will get out them this week, anyway. Arizona has been eliminated for a while now, but as Seattle found out, that hasn’t affected Jones’ motivation at all.

So just remember as you look over your options of the NFL games to watch this weekend, you might want to keep your eye on that Cardinals-Rams game while you’re at it. You may well get to see history being made if things go Jones’ way, but even they don’t, you will have one last opportunity to see one of the greatest edge rushers of this era, and maybe ever, do his thing this season. That is more than enough reason to tune in, if you ask me.

Yeah, it’s more than likely Chandler Jones will not win Defensive Player of the Year no matter what kind of smackdown he puts on the Rams this weekend, but at the very least, I bet he’ll show you why he should’ve been on your short list all along.

Then hopefully, we won’t have to have this conversation about him flying under the radar again next year.

Tropical Fuck Storm Great Scott, Allston, MA 19 September 2019

It's arguable you can hear the exact moment that the idea for Tropical Fuck Storm was birthed inside Drones frontman Gareth Liddiard's head. After I See Seaweed, the Drones' now-penultimate record which brought that band's history of languid blues-rock to a head with massive epics about Russian space dogs and Roger Waters-esque suicide ballads, Liddiard was aching for some creative freedom, to strike out in a new direction. He'd make one more album with that band, Feelin' Kinda Free, which ably lived up to its name and saw the band moving with a new energy and swagger. At the conceptual head of that album is the song 'Taman Shud', the first single released therefrom, well before FKF was announced in full. It was something wholly new for longtime Drones listeners – the song moved like a hip-hop track, with Liddard's vocals to match; though the bouncing beat was constructed from the same guitars that had previously rang out across Drones tracks, they were now short and angular strikes in unpredictable patterns.

This one song, more than anything else, presaged the arrival of Tropical Fuck Storm: Liddiard's latest project and a foray into something new. Liddiard has always moved from strength to strength within the Australian music community, and TFS is only the latest in a storied career that includes not only The Drones, but a powerful catalog of solo music.  Alongside Drones bassist and partner Fiona Kitschin, Liddiard has recruited an all-female backing band rounded out by guitarist and synth player Erica Dunn and Lauren Hammel, from Aussie bands Mod Con and High Tension, respectively. And while the band’s roots are firmly planted down under, following an American tour with indie titans Modest Mouse, the demand for the titular Fuck Storm to crash on US shores reached a fever pitch, with the band selling out Allston’s Great Scott nightclub.

In keeping with its explicit name, TFS is a band that, moreso than ever, faces head-on the disastrous, shapeshifting world around us. Their first record, A Laughing Death in Meatspace, featured truly chaotic arrangements that made 'Taman Shud' seem almost tame, not the least of which was 'Soft Power', which begins with a slight at the current U.S. President, portrayed as a nuclear-armed oompa-loompa. Meatspace, named for the designation given by techies to the physical world (as opposed to cyberspace), was still the centerpiece of the band’s set at Great Scott, but their latest record, the stunning Braindrops, seeped through and found Gaz and company stretching their psychedelic arrangements out over more space than ever before. In a way, it’s almost as if the band has circled back to look at The Drones from a new angle. The slow crawl of ‘Paradise’ and loquacious narration from Liddiard hearkens back to the days of Havilah highlight ‘Locust’ or even something further back from Wait Long by the River…. But just two minutes in, the track starts to take on distorted qualities, the guitars getting fuzzier and Kitschin and Dunn coming in on backing vocals that sound like they’re coming in from a far-off plane of existence. Hammel’s unpredictable drums segue the track back into submission to ready for the next cycle, before Liddiard leads the track off a cliff into a wailing barrage of guitar shredding. And that’s just the first track of the record – though when they play it live, they use it to end their set, that onslaught augmented by Liddiard kneeling on the floor and using his effects pedals as their own instrument, giving his guitar the occasional strum and then warping its lingering sound endlessly.

Liddiard spends a decent amount of time down there wringing monstrous noises from his pedals during the show, providing a sea in which everything else can drown and meld as the rising seas threaten to do to us all. Elsewhere, Dunn takes lead vocals on ‘Who’s My Eugene?’, and with Kitschin as support leads a sparse, airy, moody track that uses Beach Boy Brian Wilson’s abusive therapist as a framework in which Dunn explores her own anxieties. It’s easy to get intoxicated simply by the effortless groove of the song, but Braindrops’ undulations and Meatspace’s raw power and experimentation have always been merely the tip of the band’s creative iceberg. No matter who’s behind the pen for any particular track, TFS always rewards the most attentive listeners with lyrics unsettling, bold, and on the bleeding edge of a bleeding world.

First, apologies for the long wait for this review (or any update). The reason is simple: I’ve been having trouble accessing my blog for the last week or so, and it’s been (finally) solved today.

This review unit was sent to me courtesy of Probox2, so thank you (again) very much, and especially Wilson, for the help and support!

Probox2 EX+ was one of the first boxes I reviewed, as well as being one of the best and most stable of the bunch. So I was glad to find out they’ve joined the “updated” group of manufacturers and came out with the new Z Kodi TV Box that employs the Amlogic S905 CPU.

What’s in the Box?

As can be seen both in the unboxing video and the photo below, the package is pretty standard, a DC power adapter, standard HDMI 2.0 cable, a IR remote control and Quick guide. It’s really all you need to use this device efficiently – aside from a digital screen.

Looks

The Probox2 Z is made of black plastic and comes in a matte finish. The box is quite light and simple, with an embossed logo of the manufacturer on its top. There is no external antenna, but there is a blue round indication LED on the front of the box. The port selection is quite basic with (only) 2 USB 2.0 ports on offer, a Gigabit LAN port, and a TF (Micro-SD) expansion slot .

Benchmarks and Testing

All benchmarks have been repeated 3 times and results have been averaged to give a more accurate reading:

Antutu Benchmark

The Antutu benchmark tests single core performance over multi-core as it is a better indication of the performance of one device over others in most situations. The position in each graphs paints a somewhat mixed picture, as in the newer 6.0.1 version, the Z is in one of the last places (even among the S905 boxes), and in the older 5.7.3 version, it takes a middle placement. The (somewhat) more demanding 6.0.1 version may be too taxing for the new box, but this may change with time and new firmware updates.

GPU Mark Benchmark

GPU Mark tests 3d gaming performance and also provides a normalized score according to the used screen resolution (for a more accurate result). The test is quite short and should be taken as a supporting result to that of the more serious 3D Mark benchmark. We can see GPUMark also places the Z in one of the last places, so 3d gaming/apps may prove demanding for this box.

A1 SD Benchmark

A1 SD Benchmark tests RAM and flash memory speeds. As can be seen in the provided graphs, RAM is much faster (by a factor of about 40) than flash memory – that is why it’s in smaller amount and is also volatile (does not keep its contents after a reboot). The results here shows that the RAM/storage controller does not shine and the results are (again) among the lowest in the test. This can and does affect general performance as the included RAM amount is low to begin with.

PC Mark Benchmark

The PC Mark benchmark test suite gives a more task/day oriented picture of performance. Things like photo editing, web browsing and video playback are tested. The results of PC Mark are average which is quite good, considering the low scores the Z box got in the memory tests above.

3D Mark Benchmark

3D Mark benchmark is considered as one of the best ways to test 3d performance on Android (and other platforms). The score is consistent with the GPU Mark and Antutu scores from before. This box can be used for casual gaming, but it will struggle to produce decent frame rate in 3d heavy games.

Video Playback testing (Using KODI)

Local (SD card) Playback: Most of the files played correctly locally. However, some (AVC/H.264) files showed Kodi beta issues – The audio starts while the screen is black, and only by bringing up the info overlay (clicking “okay” or middle button on the remote), the video shows.

Local Network Playback: Z had issues with local network playback of heavy files. Standard Mpeg 4 (H.264) 4K files would either play with buffering after a while, jitters, and/or stutter. One of the 10 Bit TS test files not only would refuse to play, but actually crash Kodi. That is true only for network files playback. However, it shows firmware instability, and broken multi-tasking. Even with the modest hardware specs, it is possible to achieve stable and sustained video playback over the network – at least for AVC (H.264) files. And crashes are not acceptable.

* I also noticed, that when Kodi was updating the library, it would affect heavy playback both off the network and locally, to the point that stuttering and even crashing occurs. This is what I meant by broken multi-tasking. I did not notice this in most of the other S905 boxes I tested. Even the cheapest ones. This is an urgent issue to correct.

All these issues seems to be correctable, as the video compatibility rating for this box is one of the highest (if not the highest) I seen – according to Antutu Video tester.

Issues and bugs

10 mb bug is still here. Probox2 maintains that it does not happen in all cases. They’ve tested a 2 TB drive and reported that it appears and works fine. However, I have tested with my own 1.5 TB which appears fine in non-s905 (or firmware fixed s905) devices and it shows as 10 mb, and does not allow copying of large files.

I experienced some jerkiness in two out of the three games (Angry Birds 2, and Asphalt 8) – both in menus and in-game. The jerkiness affected video, but not audio.

I also noticed delays in certain applications. In Kodi, some plug-ins would take very long to load. And in games using Google play games services, it would take long minutes to connect to the service, even though the bug that crashes Google play games is fixed.

The Kodi issues mentioned in the Kodi testing section above. Kodi crashes, video delays to start while audio begins, and bad local network playback performance. These are unacceptable in a commercial box – even though they apply to the heaviest files (4K/UHD) files mostly.

Network performance

Network performance has been tested using Speedtest.net Internet speed measuring app, in WiFi and in Wired mode. My Internet connection is 200 Mbit Symmetric Fibre connection. Performance is average-low for WiFi (only N standard is supported), but quite good for Wired connection:

Gaming performance

I use an application called “GameBench” to measure frame rate and resource usage in games. However, since this box is brand new, and does not have a working root solution, my impressions are just descriptive and not measured:

Asphalt 8 Airborne – a 3d graphic intensive racing game. The game run fine, but not completely smooth. Loading screens were swift, but the during gameplay I experienced a small amount of jerkiness.

Angry Birds 2 – a popular 2d action game. Runs smoothly most of the time, with bits of slowdown both in-game and in menus. GameBench was unable to measure in-game performance, as it crashed once the game loaded and switched from the menu. The resource usage below is just for general indication.

Walking War Robots – an online robot warfare game that requires a game-pad (I don’t have a game-pad). Mostly smooth sailing, with very little to un-noticeable slower frame rate at times.

Conclusions

Did I like it? So So. I experienced too much instability in Kodi (be aware that I tested it with Kodi Jarvis Beta 5), and it must be corrected before it can become popular. However, the Z works well most of the time, with videos up to (and including) 1080p. The box also comes pre-rooted.

Would I recommend it? Not at this stage, unless you’re willing to experiment and wait for the next firmware. The Z needs to go through at least one more firmware update to improve stability. It is one of the cheapest S905 boxes out there, and once Probox2 fix some of the urgent issues, it will be one of the stronger contenders.

Peter Gadd said a European mistle thrush landed near a mountain ash tree on his lawn and has been drawing crowds ever since. "I saw a bird and thought, 'OK, that's a little different,'" said Gadd, who spotted the bird on Saturday. Gadd and his wife, Deana, have been active birders for more than four years. After spotting the bird and carefully studying its features, Gadd tried to find something similar in one of his several North American bird books. Nothing seemed to match. So he sent photos to bird experts, who quickly recognized the rare bird. "It doesn't get any rarer than this," said Jim Wilson, a New Brunswick-based birder and naturalist, who visited the Gadd residence. The bird has been feeding on the berries from the tree in Gadd's yard and comes and goes as it pleases. "This is the very first time a mistle thrush has ever been seen and recorded in North America … it will draw people from all over the continent to come and see it if it hangs around," said Wilson. The bird is widespread in Europe and has also been found in Iceland.  This one was likely brought to the East Coast by heavy winds and separated from its flock, Wilson said. "It's really quite amazing how far these migratory birds can fly in a single flight," he said.   "It's a long way from home." The bird is about the size of a robin and has a brown-greyish back with pale underparts. It also has dark spots on its breast from the throat to its belly. The eyes are large, which keeps the animal alert. "It basically looks like a washed-out robin," said Wilson. What happens next? Gadd said he hopes the bird will survive and remain in the area throughout the winter. "Once it finds a food source it will aggressively protect it," Gadd said. "If it does do that with our mountain ash (tree) it could be here for some time." Gadd said he even has raspberries, blueberries and plums on hand if it runs out of berries from the mountain ash tree. As long as the bird can get a regular supply of food, it will likely survive. Species of thrushes are often described as "hardy birds," Wilson said. For the birders Wilson said people all over Canada and the U.S. are heading to northern New Brunswick, including a birder who's flying to the area from Michigan and a couple driving up from Boston. "There was a birder here yesterday who said he would like to have a week in this area to see if there are other birds … that may have come over in the same system," said Gadd. Wilson said it's important observers make sure the bird isn't too disturbed. People should also be respectful of the neighbourhood, he said. They should park somewhere close to the site, walk quietly to the address and stay on the street, rather than lingering on the property. Crash Course on Steve and Bucky

This is going to be way too much information, fair warning.

Movies: 

“The First Avenger”  Steve starts out tiny, sickly, angry, and naively sweet. He wants to go and fight in the war because he believes in what is right and morally good, and wants to lay down his life because:

 Because his health is shit, the army tells him no fuckin’ way. Steve loves to get in fights, and often gets his ass handed to him because he sucks but won’t back down.  Bucky volunteers for the army, and because he is extremely smart he gets promoted so Sargent, and is trained as a sniper. On the night Buck ships out, Steve gets a chance to be involved in a pool of people to be picked for the opportunity to become a Super Soldier. No one believes in him, but because he’s a good man with balls of steel they pick him anyway. The Serum makes Steve big, eg: 

Because the project ultimately fails to be reproducible they relegate Steve to being a show-pony to sell war bonds. Steve also meets Peggy Carter, who it awesome and kicks ass and he totally wants her to walk all over him tbh. 

Steve becomes Captain America and saves Bucky from a HYDRA base in Italy, where he’s been tortured and given a discount version of Steve’s Serum. HYDRA are literally NAZI’s and a bunch of assholes.  Bucky falls from a train during one of their missions and dies, Steve is, obviously crushed. Decides to kill all of HYDRA himself if he has to.  Steve ends up crashing a plane in the arctic, which foils HYDRA’s plan, but freezes Steve for 70 years, until they pull him out of the ice. 

Cap 2 “The Winter Soldier”:

After The Avengers, which Steve is badly characterized in, is my favorite fuckin movie ever. Seriously, my favorite. Steve is adjusting to the 21st century, has made friends with Black Widow (Natasha) Also, bad-ass, could also walk all over Steve (but is probably ace) Super spy. 

He also makes friends with Sam Wilson, the Falcon, super under-rated and a huge sweetypie. Deserves more, and is tired of Steve’s sass 25/7 

Steve kicks some serious ass in this movie, and is generally Down to Die TM at all moments, because he’s a shit. Turns out HYDRA has infiltrated the organization that Steve is working for, and are trying to take over the world again (fuckin’ NAZI’s I swear.)  Also, it’s worth mentioning that Peggy is still alive, but has Dementia, and only occasionally remembers who Steve it. It’s sad af.  Also, guess who tf else isn’t dead. That’s right, Bucky, 

Turns out HYDRA had kept him for those 70 years, torturing him, and turning him into an assassin (The Winter Soldier), all the while wiping his memories of who he was and keeping him cryo-frozen when they didn’t need him. He snapped of his arm when he fell from the train, so now he has a hella sick metal one. 

Seeing Steve starts to break down Bucky’s programming, and he goes rogue after much internal angst, manages to keep from killing Steve through the power of love, obviously. Steve manages to take down HYDRA once more, but Bucky disappears because he feels so much guilt over what he’s done, as well as trying to remember who he is. 

“Civil War”:

Honestly, for this being a movie with “Captain America” in the title, there isn’t much Steve. Super bare-bones of it:  Steve doesn’t trust the government, because, why would he? He opposes the restriction of the Avengers, and everyone gets all up in arms about it. He manages to track Bucky down, who mostly remembers what tf is going on.  Also, Bucky meets Sam, who is not a fan of the man who tried to kill him on several occasions, eg. :

Steve gives up the mantle of Captain America in order to save Bucky from persecution, and they definitely don’t discuss the fact that they are totally in love or hug it out, which is a huge shame. 

Really that’s it for Steve and Bucky in CW. It’s a shame. 

Alright, if you’re not bored yet here’s more: 

Steve: 

Only child, lost his mom to Pneumonia when he was an adult, approx: 17-19, his father died in the first World War. Artist, and a damn good one, would probably have his art in museums if he wasn’t busy being Cap. Sassy as hell, will always avoid any discussion of relationships. Don’t ever sigh or be sad around him or he will come and Mom Friend you so hard it actually hurts. Loves motorcycles, loves throwing motorcycles even more. Listens to swing music always. Believes in justice and equality, and always seeing the good in people. Doesn’t think he’s worth all the trust people put in him, but won’t let them down either. Born on the 4th of July, because he couldn’t be any more patriotic. Bad kisser, but motivated. Swears like a sailor, same as Bucky. 

Buck: 

Oldest and only boy of 4 kids, very smart, kind and charismatic, total ladies man before the war. After HYDRA he blames himself for what he’s done, thinks it’s his fault he killed all those people, generally thinks Steve is wasting his time with him. Has an intense love of pancakes. Won the trust and admiration of his unit in the war, and you damn well know will mom-friend just as hard as Steve, though in a “you broke your nose, let me set it and then we can go dancing like you promised” way. Very compassionate, and wants to help and improve himself. Very polite. Neat Freak. Loves Space and sci-fi novels.
