I just saw this on TikTok so about the Chase Bank “money glitch”
You cannot withdraw hundreds/thousands/millions from your own bank account at an ATM and then close the account
That is called wire fraud
You also cannot write a false cheque and cash it into your account, and withdraw than money
That is cheque fraud
This is not “infinite money”
You will be blacklisted from banks and JP Morgan will get your ass in jail and will hunt you to get their money back
It’s very inconvenient not being able to own a bank account in the digital age

Edward Helmore at The Guardian:
Former Republican congressman George Santos pleaded guilty to committing wire fraud and aggravated identity theft in a federal fraud case marking yet another low point for a politician famed for the outlandish lies and fantasies he peddled during his short but high profile political career. “I understand that my actions have betrayed my supporters and constituents,” Santos said in an emotional statement during the hearing. “I am committed to making amends and learning from this experience.” The disgraced ex-congressman faces a two-year mandatory minimum sentence under federal guidelines, but in court US district judge Joanna Seybert estimated a possible sentencing range between six and eight years when he returns to court again on 7 February. Santos, 36, had previously pleaded not guilty to a range of alleged financial crimes, including lying to Congress about his wealth, collecting unemployment benefits while actually working and using campaign contributions to pay for personal expenses.
The New York Republican entered the plea in a courtroom in Long Island just weeks before his trial was set to begin in early September. The prospect of a plea deal was raised late last week when a surprise court hearing was requested by prosecutors and Santos’s lawyers. Prior to the deal, two Santos campaign aides had already pleaded guilty to related crimes. Santos was once touted as a rising political star after he flipped the suburban Long Island district in New York state. But his story rapidly unspooled in the glare of public life as reports emerged he had lied about having a career at top Wall Street firms and a college degree along with other questions of his biography. Even in the Republican party of Donald Trump, where scandals over truth-telling have become an almost daily event, Santos managed to draw enormously negative attention. Members of his own party turned upon him, demanding he resign. New scandals then emerged about his campaign funds. Santos was first indicted on federal charges in May 2023, but refused to resign from office. Santos was expelled from Congress after an ethics investigation found “overwhelming evidence” that he had broken the law and exploited his public position for his profit.
Former Rep George Santos (R-NY) pleads guilty to federal counts for wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.

Anti-LGBTQ+ Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R) acknowledged that she spent $19,000 in state taxpayer funds on a lectern that she’s not even publicly using. She paid for it using a state credit card, and the Republican Party of Arkansas eventually reimbursed the state for the lectern, but only after a local blogger revealed the uncommonly expensive purchase.
While speaking to the press on Tuesday, Sanders explained that she would not be using the lectern, even though it was purchased specifically for her public statements as Governor, because the media would “talk about nothing else” if she used it for its intended purpose.
“I figure if you do [use the lectern], you [the media] would talk about nothing else than the important actions that we’re actually taking … which, unfortunately, is not surprising, that while we are focused on things that actually impact our state and impact Arkansans, the media wants to spend all of their time on things that frankly don’t,” she chastised reporters on Tuesday.
Sanders’ office purchased the custom blue and wood-paneled lectern from Beckett Events LLC in June for $19,029.25, “significantly higher than prices listed online for other lecterns,” KTHV reported. On Tuesday, she explained several features that may have added to its cost.
“In terms of specific features, the height of the podium is specific,” she said. “I don’t know if you noticed but women are traditionally shorter than our male counterparts. And so that makes a little bit of a difference…. It also incorporates sound components that make it easier to plug in for multiple media outlets at one time to get the best sound quality, I guess, possible, to relay back to TV and the purposes of that nature.”
In September, local blogger Matt Campbell revealed that Sanders’ office had made the expensive purchase. Sanders’ executive assistant and office manager Laura Hamilton has since been accused of altering an invoice for its purchase, writing an undated note that the item was “to be reimbursed.” Hamilton hasn’t revealed who allegedly told her to add the note.
Sanders’ office has also been accused of illegally withholding and redacting documents associated with its purchase. She has claimed that she purchased it using taxpayer funds as an “accounting error” and said that questions around its purchase are “nothing more than a manufactured controversy.” However, state Sen. Jimmy Hickey (R) has ordered a legislative audit to “get all the facts.”
Although the Republican Party of Arkansas reimbursed the state for the purchase, “A check from the party was not written until September, three months after it was purchased,” the aforementioned news outlet reported.
In March, Sanders signed a law prohibiting trans students from using bathrooms that match their gender identity.
In February, she signed a bill reclassifying drag performances as adult-oriented entertainment. In March, she signed a “Don’t Say Gay” law, banning classroom instruction on gender identity and sexual orientation before fifth grade, as well as another bill allowing anyone who received gender-affirming care as a minor to sue their doctor up to 15 years after they turn 18.
In June, a federal judge struck down the state’s ban on gender-affirming care for transgender minors, which the legislature passed before Sanders became Governor.

Former Atlanta City Attorney Sentenced To 7 Years In Prison For Stealing $15 Million In Paycheck Protection Program Funds Funds During The Covid-19 Pandemic – Atlanta Georgia reporting
Shelitha Robertson, 62, and other co-conspirators got the loans on behalf of four businesses she owned and controlled, the Department of Justice said in a news release Friday.
“The loan applications falsely inflated the number of employees and average monthly payroll for each of the four businesses, resulting in larger PPP loans than Robertson would be legitimately entitled to obtain.
Robertson and her co-conspirator, Chandra Norton, also submitted false tax documents to support the inflated statements in each loan application,” the DOJ said.
Robertson used the money she got from the loans to buy luxury items, including a 10-carat diamond ring. The DOJ said she also transferred some of the money to other family members and her co-conspirator, Chandra Norton.
“Motivated by greed, Robertson deceptively obtained funds that were designated to provide emergency financial relief to struggling small businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said U.S. Attorney Ryan K. Buchanan. “We will continue to work with our law enforcement partners to investigate and prosecute criminals who stole pandemic relief funds.”
A jury convicted Robertson of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering on December 19, 2023. The judge sentenced her to seven years and three months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.
