okokok so going into the spec bio side of things, sparks are both functionally souls capable of being imprinted with data and also molten hot balls of plasma that are similar to stars. they provide power to a mech’s internals and frame and are fed with energon, set in a durable chamber surrounded by innermost and suspended in the center by a thin, gelatinous membrane to prevent the energon within from completely boiling inside.

consuming sparks requires a completely modified set of internals, since eating molten plasma isn't exactly something cybertronians are capable of without severe damages. part of star's mutation involved his entire intake and digestive system coating itself in an extreme heat-resistant polymer to allow him to consume sparks without everything inside him melting upon contact (said polymer is also the reason he can't eat anything other than sparks, as it makes everything else taste disgusting). any filtration systems and those dedicated to processing energon within him are now defunct and have since been either reabsorbed and recycled within his frame or removed by ko. what systems remain are much more efficient, as digesting sparks now directly provides energy to his own spark and keeps his frame running at a higher energy output than energon.

since sparks can be imprinted with data, they retain the memories and emotions of their owners. to a sparkeater this manifests in a form of synesthesia and gives them their flavor. whatever the spark owner was feeling most intensely at their time of deactivation (during which the spark is removed from its casing and consumed) presents in its taste and potency. though he is very accustomed to consuming sparks in states of shock, fear, and terror, starscream's favorite flavors are more positive emotions and experiences like hope, elation, and euphoria.

Hello! Your art has relly nice, soft colors and I wanted to ask how you choose your color palettes if you don't mind.

well it's 4 AM so my thoughts maybe a bit jumbled and I'm totally ass with explaining but anyways- I learned colour by copying other artists and looking at a ton of photography... especially photography! There's a lot to learn about colour from all sorts of places be it people's clothing, small useless trinkets or insects

just be on a lookout most of art is just observational skills anyways

for pieces I actually care about I like doing colour thumbnails before doing anything like so- usually picking 2-3(sometimes more) main colours

my goal is to try and frame the main focus and thats typically done using a very contrasting accent colour, be it a complimentary one, a bright neon one to contrast with pastel or a desaturated colour etc.

In general- I use a ton of compliementary and triad palettes

on a related note, I actually consider the shading and lighting colours to be a significant important part of a pieces colour palette, since to me every single colour effects the piece

sometimes you will see me shade and light using existing colours around a piece, which ends up in weird sorta "unconventional" art decisions like using the colour blue to light yellow and sooo on- since I love experimenting with colour usage

and well it gives out cool results!

really just have fun with colour and don't be afraid to be clumsy and insane with it like me :)

Once I found out the Promare ost was finally available on Spotify it was Over for me. This song has been like Definitive ThunderRod song to me since also, as much as Promare just being a ThunderRod movie in general.

But also this song just delivers every line SO immaculately, ALL Promare ost does imo. The music is banging. I listen to other stuff from Sawano-san just cuz he's an amazing composer, man. Highly recommend.

Hi! What's your opinion on Mirage/Hound for the ship bingo?

aaaaa I love them so much. I’ve been trying to get into Mirage/Hound/Cliffjumper recently :) idk what it is that makes them such a good pairing but I enjoy reading about them and I think they look so cute together. Their differences and similarities in character make their dynamics really interesting. I actually don’t know where this ship first originated from,? I’d assume like G1 so that’s kinda how I view them. I don’t have nearly as much as this as things like KOBD but I just think they’re cool together that’s it and more people need to get into this
