☠️ Leon is scared of lightning (Astraphobia) but not thunder. (RE6)

☠️ Chris has a fear of late night phone calls because that’s how he learned of his parents death.

☠️ Piers is very heavily implied to be Bisexual due to a file in Revelations 2 (his concept art also implies this, if you know you know)

☠️ The Hound Wolf Squad is the only squad Chris has had that have all survived the entire game.

☠️ Wesker and Birkin were childhood friends

☠️ The Cerberus are all clones of each other which is why they’re all Doberman

Turn Week 2023 Day 4: History Nerdery

...I know it’s my prompt and all but the sheer thought of going through everything I’ve learned about North American colonial history of the late 18th Century since getting into this fandom stresses me out.

William Benemann’s Male-Male Intimacy in Early America remains my bible for contextualizing intimacy between men during this time period, including the attitudes, and the leniency and loopholes (surprisingly!) that the era made available for something that was still considered a sin. My favourite thing in that book was the full transcript of the letter William North wrote Benjamin Walker (pg 116 in the above link) in November of 1792. (Go find it, it’s... illuminating and a little heartbreaking).

Anyone who’s read my most beloved of my fanfics, You’ve Caught Me Between Wind and Water, knows where most of my research time goes, so here are some other things I really liked learning for that story...

Justine Crump’s The perils of play: Eighteenth-century ideas about gambling had some really cool ideas, including this absolute monster of a quotation:

Yep, thanks, I will take a chapter title from that and use that as a central theme in the chapter, don’t mind if I do, you absolute genius.

I really liked learning about the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and what amounted to a civil war happening during the American Revolution as the Oneida and Tuscarora fought with the Patriots and the Mohawk, Onondaga, Seneca, and Cayuga fought with the British. And all this because I wondered who the guy who was next to Caleb in some of the later seasons was.

If we wanna talk about something the show got grievously, insultingly, wrong, we can start with Tewahangarahken (Han Yerry) being a sidekick in Caleb’s scouting party when he was in fact the chief warrior of the Wolf Clan and leader of the Oneida warriors that joined Washington at Valley Forge.

That image is part of a painting of the Battle of Oriskany, where Tewahangarahken (”He Who Takes Up The Snow Shoe”) and his warriors fought. His wife Tyonajanegen (”Two Kettles Together”) was also there and loaded his musket.

(Also just now I learned that Tewahangarahken and his men joined Lafayette in a reconnaissance-in-force mission after they arrived at Valley Forge! I’m really enjoying this book Forgotten allies: the Oneida Indians and the American Revolution by Joseph T. Glatthaar and James Kirby Martin.)

Resident Evil Revised TV Series Idea.

The show should be told American Horror Story like meaning its gonna be anthology-ish based with stories bouncing back with returning characters.

Season 1’s cast is Jessica Henwick as Jill Valentine, Kellan Lutz or Sebastian Stan as Chris Redfield, Antony Starr as Albert Wesker, David Harbour as Barry Burton, Charlie Hunam as Richard Aiken, Jack Quad as Brad Vickers and Erin Moriarty as Rebecca Chambers.

Season 1 is an adaptation of RE1 taking creative liberties from the remake and original. The one difference is that Brad’s helicopter is hit by crows leading him to nearly crash and fly away, this results in a subplot of Brad returning to HQ and finds dirt on Irons before returning.

Season 2 has a different set of characters and a bigger budget with Hailee Steinfeld as Claire Redfield, Mason Dye as Leon S. Kennedy, Sadie Sink as Sherry Birkin, Elizabeth Olsen or Laurie Holden as Annette Birkin, Karen Fukuhara as Ada Wong, Temura Morrison as HUNK and Jason Issacs or Paul Bethany as William Birkin. Takes influence from the RE2 Remake.

Season 3 is an adaptation of RE3 Nemesis mixed with the remake. Jill is the same, Oscar Isaac plays Carlos Oliveira, Jonathan Adams as Tyrell Patrick, Tom Wlaschiha as Mikhail, and Michael Fassbender as Nicholai Zinoviev.

Season 4 adapts a story from the Umbrella Chronicles which is the fall of Umbrella and also Code Veronica Jamie Campbell as Alfred Ashford and Natalie Dormer as Alexia Ashford. Also Tye Simpkins as Steve Burnside.

Season 5 adapts the story of Leon and Krauser (John Cena or Frank Grillo) with Jenny Ortega as Manuela Hidalgo.

Season 6 is an adaptation of Resident Evil 4 with Mason Dye reprising his role as Leon and Cena or Grillo as Krauser alongside Fukuhara as Ada while newcomers Ashley Graham and Luis Sera are played by Natalia Dyer and Diego Luna with Javier Bardem as Saddler. A couple of unknowns for Mendez and Salazar.

Season 7 adapts Resident Evil Revelations with Jason Momoa as Parker Luciani, Kit Harrington as Raymond Vester and Alexandra Daddario as Jessica Sherawat.

Season 8 is an adaptation of RE5 but it’s more in line with the original draft albeit the mind controlled Jill part is there. Danai Guerera is Sheva Alomar, Daniel Kaluuya as Josh Stone, Jesse Plemons as Richardo Irving and Monica Belucci as Excella Gionne.

Season 9 adapts Resident Evil 6 with most of the cast returning and a better written Jake Muller played by Wyatt Russell and has been reimagined as a BSAA soldier instead of a mercenary who teams up with Sherry Birkin played by Billie Lourde with Liam Hemsworth playing Piers Nivans and Jill tagging along. Also Simmons is changed from instead of being a member of a secret society, he was just trying to cause global bio terror attacks to promote the his own agendas of a better secured world with Carla Radames being a rogue operative and an ally of Ada’s. Temura Morrison returns as HUNK and is Ada’s partner.

Season 10 is Resident Evil Revelations 2 with Emily VanCamp as Alex Wesker with Harbour reprising his role as Barry Burton, Millie Bobby Brown as Moira Burton, and an unknown actress for Natalia. Steinfeld returns as Claire too.

Season 11 adapted Resident Evil 7 fully with Joe Keery or Chris Hemsworth as Ethan Winters (to make the plot sound more sensical, Ethan is a private investigator and a former RPD cop), Emilia Clarke is Mia Winters, Michael Rooker is Jack Baker, Toni Colette as Marguerite Baker, Rooney Mara as Zoe Baker and Aaron Paul as Lucas Baker with Stan returning as Chris.

Season 12 is an RE8 adaptation with Cate Blanchett or Gwendolie Christie as Lady Dimitrescu (CGI), Eva Greene as Donna Beneviento, Nicholas Cage as Karl Heisenberg, Stellan Skarsgard as Salvatore Moreau, and Emily Blunt as Mother Miranda. Hound Wolf squad consists of Jill, Chris, Barry and Rebecca.

If the main character of Beholder 3 was Ernst Muller

IMHO, but Ernst looks more like a spy both externally and by his actions throughout the game, and I think he could have turned out to be a better hero. However, the plot would have to be rewritten. And that's what I'm thinking at the moment:

Ernst: A spy from another country, whose mission is to find out the whereabouts of the Leader, since he has not been seen in public live. He was caught by Franz for something he did not commit, and as a result, he tries to get out of the Great Union by any means. Understands technology and can build small gadgets. As in the original, almost nothing is known about him. Also harsh and serious in most situations. Dislikes Stephen because of his optimism in any situation.

Stephen: The Minister, the Leader's right-hand man. As in the original, he wants to change the Union towards progress. Despite his positive thinking and encouraging speeches, he is not what he seems. Hypocritical towards Lotte, and other conservatives, and also dislikes Resistance. Together with Emma Grundich, he is disposed to capitalist ideas. He benefits from the fact that no one knows about the death of the Leader.

Franz: Stephen's informant working for the local newspaper. Because of him, Ernst remained in the Great Union. He sends newspapers to Stephen from abroad.

Lotte: Stephen's minister and deputy. Adheres to conservative ideas, and thoughts about the harm of reforms. As in the original, it is strict, but encourages a job well done. Hates Stephen. Somehow involved in the death of the Leader. As in the original, he wants to frame Stephen and blow up people at the concert.

Frank: An "errand boy" living in an apartment building where Ernst was settled. Looks after Ernst when he is at home. Sometimes he can turn to him for help. Frank used to work in the Ministry until he came under "reduction". He is afraid of Lotte, and will do whatever she says to somehow get back to the Ministry. He is also unhappy in his family, but cannot get divorced because of financial needs and thoughts of "what will people say"

Wolf: The leader of the Resistance. In the past, a talented musician and hacker. He is trying to unearth the truth about the Leader, and reveal it to the world, since the latter has not appeared in public for too long. Because of Lotte, his wife is in prison. He doesn't trust Stephen, because he feels a trick. Ernst teams up with him to destroy the ministry.

Ideas

1) Steven blackmails Ernst to remove Lotte from power. He will provide Muller with security if he finds evidence on Altmann. Wolf offers Ernst to work with him, because they have one goal: to find out the truth. For Henker - from Lotte, for Ernst - from Steven.

2) I like the idea of Lotte asking Frank to assemble the parts to create a bomb, and Ernst collects it, then gives it back to Frank.

Frank, as in the canon, persuades Schmolke to take a bundle. BUT BEFORE THAT, Ernst arranges with Wolf to intercept the package with the bomb on stage and install it in the Ministry's projector room (perhaps even Ernst arranged with Schwartz to take the package from Henker's hands).

3) The duration of the game is a very distant future, because I do not believe in what is happening in the original game. Even if it's fiction, there can't be such rapid changes in the game world.
