Protect Excel VBA Project & Apply DBNum Custom Pattern Formatting inside .NET Apps
What’s new in this release?
Aspose team is pleased to announce the new release of Aspose.Cells for .NET 17.4.0. Protect VBA Project of Excel Workbook and Lock it for Viewing, Specify Sort Warning While Sorting Data and Apply DBNum Custom Pattern Formatting in .NET.  The new release includes some valuable features and other enhancements with critical bug fixes. We have added certain features regarding VBA project’s protection for the users. There is also an enhancement for data sorting and custom pattern formatting. Aspose.Cells now supports the feature of protecting the VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) Project of Excel Workbook and locking it for viewing. Besides, users can also find if an existing VBA project is already protected and locked for viewing. The code snippet demonstrates how to protect an Excel Workbook VBA Project dynamically using Aspose.Cells and lock it for viewing. Aspose.Cells already supports Data Sorting, however earlier users could not sort a textual data as numerical data. For this purpose, Aspose.Cells implemented the DataSorter.SortAsNumber property. Whenever users sort textual data that looks like a number, MS-Excel shows this warning. DataSorter.SortAsNumber property implements this MS-Excel warning. It supports the DBNum custom pattern formatting. For example, if a cell value is 123 and users specify its custom formatting as [DBNum2][$-804]General then it will be displayed like 壹佰贰拾叁. Developers can specify custom formatting of a cell using Cell.GetStyle() method and Style.Custom attribute. Aspose.Cells for .NET 17.4.0 has enhanced its core for more stability as well as fixed many critical bugs. Moreover, there are numerous minor enhancements in order to improve the overall usage of the API.A few of the worth mentioning enhancements includes, such as Set Column Header ToolTip, sparklines disappear after re-saving and rendering to PDF, Formatting error inside shapes texts when Excel is converted to PDF, VbaProject.Sign causes an exception and Re-adding a picture to the same XLS throws a Null Reference error. Furthermore, in this release, we have fixed several other issues, such as issues around reading/writing MS Excel file formats, manipulating Pivot Tables, applying formatting to cells, manipulating Ole Objects and shapes, rendering and manipulating charts, rendering HTML to Excel and vice versa, rendering images from Excel worksheets, rendering images files from charts and exporting Excel workbooks to PDF format have been resolved. The formula calculation engine is enhanced too in the new release. This release includes several enhanced features and bug fixes as listed below

To run the An圜hart Export Server, do the following: Exporting to CSV, JSON, and XML does not require PhantomJS: the server acts only as an intermediary allowing the file to be saved using a browser.Īn圜hart Export Server is a Java application (JAR file) that runs using Java, so it works on Windows, Linux, MacOS, or any other OS where Java is available. If you need to take a screenshot of a page on the Internet or in a local HTML file, you can just use Chrome or Firefox in the headless mode without the An圜hart Export Server. EnvironmentĪn圜hart Export Server uses PhantomJS, which emulates a browser on the server (WebKit), runs our charts in it, gets SVG, and converts it into *.PNG, *.JPG, or *.PDF files. In such cases, we suggest that you use An圜hart Export Server.Īn圜hart Export Server is also used to provide chart export to PNG, JPG, PDF, SVG, CSV, Excel, JSON, and XML. Server-side rendering is a tool that is very helpful in many cases: when you have an automated email system, and you need to include charts in letters when you need charts in reports that are generated on servers when you need to show charts on a Smart TV with a stripped version of a browser and so on.

Hyperlinks Not Working In Excel 2016

Excel Spreadsheet Hyperlinks Not Working
Break Link Not Working In Excel 2016
Dan has a shared workbook into which he needs to insert a hyperlink. However, as long as the workbook is shared, the hyperlink features in Excel are not available. Dan wonders if there is a way to insert hyperlinks into shared workbooks.
The short answer is no, there is not. When you choose to share a workbook, some options in Excel are simply not available any more; inserting hyperlinks is one of those options that is removed once the workbook is shared.
If you absolutely must add the hyperlink to the workbook, the only option is to unshare the workbook, add the hyperlink, and then again share the workbook. You'll no longer be able to add any more hyperlinks, but the one you added while the workbook was unshared will work just fine.
Option 2: disable hyperlinks as you type. To remove the hyperlink completely, select it and then press Delete. Delete Worksheet in Excel VBA – Disable Application Alerts or Warning message: While executing the above code, we got a warning message. MS Excel 2016: Set up a cell to allow a maximum number of characters. Excel Hyperlinks Stopped Working. Excel Details: Why have the hyperlinks in Excel 2013 stopped working.Excel Details: Check your Excel settings to see if the interpretation of a hyperlink value in a cell should be rendered as regular text or if it should be a live hyperlink.Go to Options - Proofing and ensure 'Ignore Internet and file addresses' is checked on. Links not opening in excel.
There is one caveat in taking this approach to adding the hyperlink—you need to be careful that you don't unshare the workbook if you have the Track Changes feature of Excel turned on. In the process of unsharing the workbook, Excel will turn off the tracking and discard the change history. If this is important to you, the only option is to make sure that you add the hyperlinks before sharing the workbook and first turning on Track Changes.
Follow one of the steps depending on the Excel version you are using: In Excel 2016, Excel 2013, and Excel 2010: Click the File tab. Click Properties, and then select Advanced Properties. In the Summary tab, in the Hyperlink base text box, type the path that you want to use. I am using your Acrobat Pro XII trial version, I am running Excel 2016 for PC. I have hyperlinks in my excel form and when I convert it to PDF they do not transfer over. I have tried 'Save as' a PDF and also 'Print', save as PDF, convert the Excel file to PDF using Adobe PDF maker.

Load any HTML with Self-Closing Tags & Convert It to Excel File inside Android Apps
What’s new in this release?
Aspose development team is pleased to announce the new release of Aspose.Cells for Android via Java 18.12. Depiction of data through HTML page is very common, however this page can be opened in variety of devices including mobiles, tabs and other hand held devices which contain small screens. The size of the columns is defined in “pt” which works in many cases. However there can be case where this fixed size may not be required. For example if container panel width is 600px where this HTML page is being displayed. In this case users may get horizontal scrollbar if the generated table width is bigger. This requirement is addressed by providing scalable units like em or percent for a better presentation. Empty tags are very common while working with HTML like we can face <td></td> or simply <td/>. Earlier self-closing tags were not supported however now this support is provided. Now users can load any HTML with self-closing tags and convert it to Excel file. Named regions can have English formulae and this file can be used in environments where systems are configured to German Locale. There is need to translate these English formulae completely to German language for correct usage in Excel configured for German language. This feature is fully functional and can be used without any extra coding. Excel provides custom filters like filter rows which begins with and ends with some specific string.  Aspose.Cells provides rich features to manage shapes in the spreadsheet. Sometimes there is needed to get the connection points of a shape for aligning or placing the shapes at appropriate place. For this purpose all the connection points are required. Pivot tables are very common reports which are present in the workbooks. These reports are updated time by time and it is important to know the last time when report was updated for better decision making. Aspose.Cells has provided this feature by introducing property RefreshDate. Similarly name of the person who updated the pivot table is also provided as property RefreshedByWho.  Smart art is used for better representation of information however earlier the text in the smart art shapes was fixed. This limitation is gone now as now smart art text can be updated. For this purpose shape.setText() function is introduced which sets new text in the smart art shape. Data validation is done in variety of ways to control the input in the Excel file. Like limit can be defined for a cell within which some number can be entered, otherwise error message is raised. Issues were faced for validation of large numbers like 12345678901 etc. in the past but now this much large numbers are supported by Aspose.Cells. Aspose.Cells has introduced rendering active worksheet in a workbook to SVG. For this purpose load an Excel file into workbook object and set the active sheet index like for Sheet2, set index to 1. Then save the Workbook as SVG which will render active worksheet to SVG. Workbook can have multiple sheets which are rendered as multiple tab pages when converted to HTML using Excel. Similarly if a workbook contains single sheet, it shows one tab page when converted to HTML using Excel. This conversion was working fine for multiple sheets while using Aspose.Cells. However for single sheet workbook, there was no tab page and only HTML file was created without creating the separate folder containing CSS. Now Aspose.Cells has enhanced its library to create similar output for single sheet workbooks as compared to output created by Excel. In complex Excel files (XLSM/XSLB) there can be large amount of macros which can be very very long. Many times there is a need to load the workbooks without loading these VBA projects like just extracting the sheet names from loaded workbook. In this case we need a filter which can load VBA projects in when they are actually required. This time Aspose.Cells has introduced a filter option LoadDataFilterOptions.VBA which can be used for this purpose. Textbox is very common control which can be used in a worksheet. This is not necessary that text in the textbox is fixed. It may have tags which can be replaced with some text at runtime. It helps users to configure the controls as per the data on the sheet or from some other source. Worksheet.replace can be used for this purpose and textbox can be set with the desired text. It can convert worksheet to HTML but rendering entire sheet at once may not be required always. Users may require just a selected area of the sheet to be rendered to HTML. Worksheets contain page setup where print area can be set. A worksheet can have different types of validations including dropdown. There can be a need where user may want to detect the type of validation and take some decision based on this information. This release includes plenty of improved features and bug fixes as listed below
Change returned value for getting Connection points
Provide ability to export range as HTML
Data bars are missing when XLSX is converted to HTML
Value still exists when XLSX is converted to HTML

Disable Pivot Table Ribbon & Applying Text Alignment to Partial Text inside TextBox using Java
What’s new in this release?
Aspose team is pleased to announce the new release of Aspose.Cells for Java 18.8. It includes new features, enhancements and bug fixes to supplement the usability of the product and support the developers community. New features are always part of every release to enrich the product. It is very common to apply different alignments to the partial texts in the text box. This feature was having some issues but now it is reviewed and bugs are removed to incorporate proper alignment.   This option allows screen reader software to utilize the text within the PDF file for reading.  You can disable it by applying a change permissions password and deselecting few options in Adobe Acrobat. Same functionality can be achieved using Aspose.Cells for Java now. Pivot table based reports are useful but prone to error if target users do not have detailed knowledge of Excel to configure these reports. In these circumstances organizations will want to restrict users from being able to change a pivot table based report. Common pivot table features like adding additional filters, slicers, fields, or changing the order of certain things in the report are mostly not recommended for every user. On the other hand, these users shall also be able to refresh the report and use existing filters or slicers. Aspose.Cells has provided this ability to developers for restricting users from changing these reports while creating them. For this purpose Excel provides feature to disable pivot table ribbon and same is provided by Aspose.Cells i.e. developer can disable the ribbon which contain controls to modify these reports. Reliability and efficiency is basic requirement by the users for any software product. If some conversion takes too long, sometimes it is required to interrupt this process to return control to the user. This feature is already present but got some performance issues, however we have further improved it and now can be used without any trouble. While working with Excel, pasting rows and columns is very common and this feature was introduced in the earliest versions of Aspose.Cells. However limited paste option was available in contrast to Excel where variety of options are available when we paste data somewhere in Excel. Now Aspose.Cells has provided this feature and you can paste data with multiple options. There are some other enhancements and exceptions part of this new release, such as Hyperlinks not working when referenced from other sheets, Incorrect alignment issue while rendering to PDF, Wrong placement of table data from HTML to Excel file, Depiction of slicer control while spreadsheet to HTML conversion, Improper gradient color rendering to PDF, Improper chart category title display in PDF and Wrong border style for merged cells. Below are some important new features, enhancement and bug fixes part of this release.
Disable Pivot Table Ribbon
Protect workbook and worksheet in ODS file
Interruption issue with saving XLSX file process
Hyperlink not working when referenced from other sheet
Incorrect alignment while rendering spreadsheet to PDF format
Table data shifted to wrong row and column while converting from HTML to MS Excel file format
Chart's image position is wrong in Chrome & FireFox while converting to HTML

Aspose team is pleased to announce the new release of Aspose.Cells for Java 18.5. This release includes many new features and enhancements along with some critical bug fixes that further improve the overall stability of the APIs. We also recommend our clients to use the powerful Aspose for Java APIs directly in their Maven Projects with simple configurations. Sometimes users want to display text in Far East language font e.g. Japanese, Chinese, Thai etc. Aspose.Cells provides TextOptions.FarEastName property that can be used to specify the font name of Far East language. Besides, users can also specify the Latin font name using TextOptions.LatinName property. Aspose.Cells allows developers to save the workbook in Strict Open XML Spreadsheet format. For that purpose, it provides the Workbook.Settings.Compliance property. If users set its value as OoxmlCompliance.ISO_29500_2008_STRICT, then the output Excel file will be saved in Strict Open XML Spreadsheet format. Generally, users specify the fonts directory or list of fonts for all the workbooks but sometime, users have to specify individual or private set of fonts for a desired workbooks. Aspose.Cells provides IndividualFontConfigs class that can be used to specify the individual or private set of fonts for users' workbook.  Below are some important new features, enhancement and bug fixes part of this release.
