well..

I kindaaa designed my own version of Wendy. I love the idea of her being a monster sized worm on string because of Gen z nostalgia, and I feel like I havnt seen many species in the franchise of monsters who have no arms like snakes or worms. Her being a worm on a string type of monster would make sense due to Roger being very fluffy and thin especially compared to his dad. Also the fact that she would use her entire body or her tail as limbs due to not having any. Cuz Roger only has five limbs which he can interchangeably use as arms or legs while his dad has two arms and six legs. As for Roger having tentacles, I believe that he got them from his dad’s side. Cuz he is a crab monster, which are associated with the ocean, and tentacles are seen on octopuses and squid, who are also associated with the ocean. So I think it’s not that hard to believe that Waternoose’s family could all be based on different sea creatures and that the tentacles skipped a generation.

As for Wendy’s personality, I feel like she would very sweet, playful, and sometimes manic when she’s around his son, giving him all the love she could, while she can be seen as defensive, untrusting, and sometimes even rude around others. I would like to believe that after what happened with Waternoose she just kinda lost half of her sanity, but tries to stay strong and stable for her son

And this might be a stretch but I’d like to imagine her being voiced by Racheal House, who voiced Moana’s Grandma and Terry from Soul. Not only is she from New Zealand herself, (and she has worked with Rhys Darby before, according to her wiki filmography) she has the perfect voice to sound like a sweet yet sassy elderly lady who would do anything for her child (Like Moana’s grandma) , but who is also fighting her own demons which would come off as her being rude and condescending (Like Terry from Soul)

Anyways, yeah!! I hope y’all like the design I came up for her. And if y’all think i should change some things about her design, let me know please! I want to make her look as good as possible :)

Sorry for no drawing posts lately!! I've been working on the next Kid Leo arc AND the interlude and I just started work on a Christmas special, so I haven't been able to draw too much extra stuff. I did doodle some worms though :)
