I am so glad they kept the past between Rogue and Magneto in the animation!!!! I just hope they won’t turn it into a drama point or triangle! They always have been mature and levelheaded around each other. Fingers crossed they keep it like that.

Just watched the first few episodes of X-Men ‘97

I’ve always preferred the X-Men or Fantastic 4 over the Avengers in the comics and this show is the BEST!

Things I love about it:

It finally made Cyclops cool, his landing has already been everywhere because it’s BADASS

Love the design of Morph love them and how they’ll just turn into a character.

Managed to do the whole Mister Sinister/Jean Grey cloning into Madelyn Prior so well and her green eyes are the icing on the cake

Finally Wolverine is Canadian

BUT THE BEST PART IS MAGNETO HE ATE

He’s the best part of the show so far but I love it ALL

The Wheel of Fortune is a card of cycles and turning tides. Simply put, what goes up must eventually come down. As illustrated in the Thoth Tarot, it’s a card associated with Jupiter, both the planet and the various storm deities it correlates to across pantheons.

I just finished watching the first two episodes of X-Men ‘97 on Disney+, and I liked them. It’s more mature than the original series. I enjoyed all of the Easter eggs and cameos from X-Men’s massive character library. I’m looking forward to watching more. Rumor has it that Colossus and Magik will be guest-starring in a future Mojoworld episode. Obviously, I would be thrilled by that. 😄

I cannot believe how good this week’s episode of X-Men ‘97 was. I am shook.

I have tears in my eyes, not going to lie. This show meant so much to me as a kid.

X-Men ‘97 looks like it will be a lot of fun, and a solid continuation from the good parts of the original series. Those of us that grew up with the show know that it kinda lost its magic in later seasons. A fresh start with a generally great look to the animation is a good move. I’m overwhelmingly positive.

There has been some controversies online. I have VIVID memories of that Rogue scene. I cherish them. I was a teenage boy into comics. I am now a full grown man into comics. Redesigning the characters and doing away with the thiccness leaves me with a resounding sense of “I get it, but goddamnit.”

On Morph. I am in favor of representation. Morph being non-binary is the most natural evolution for a character imaginable. It doesn’t feel forced. That’s my caveat with having non-binary characters in established franchises.

I’d rather have new characters than have existing characters reveal themselves to be something that is currently in the social zeitgeist. Read that again. Representation should “feel” right. If it doesn’t feel right, it’s because the company is pandering to an audience for money. And, personally, whenever I am pandered towards, I feel like I am being insulted. So, in general, I’d rather see representative characters be created and have their *whatever* niche group be a small part of their personality, not their defining trait. I don’t want to be hit over the head with a new character that’s interesting because they are non-binary. I want a new character that is interesting, and happens to be non-binary. I hope that makes sense.

Now, for a shapeshifter like Morph having no preference on their sexuality feels like a natural aspect of having those mutant powers. Cyclops can naturally see angles and trajectories. A person that naturally can be all forms would have no preference for a single form.

I am a straight guy with 3 little boys that are probably gonna watch the show. I am in favor of where the direction seems to be going.
