Využil jsem možnost převodu předplatného Xbox Game Pass Core (dříve známého jako Xbox Live Gold) na Game Pass Ultimate. Stačilo zakoupit několik měsíců Core, aktivovat je na svém účtu a poté přidat jeden měsíc Ultimate. Systém automaticky převedl celé předplatné na Ultimate v poměru 2:1. Díky tomu jsem získal až 18 měsíců Game Pass Ultimate za cenu, která je o 62 % nižší než běžná měsíční sazba. Pokud tě zajímá podrobný návod, jak na to, mrkni na článek ode mne....

the only megacorp likely to pushback on unity charging the installation fee is microsoft because developers are paid to let their games be hosted on gamepass (or be exclusive, even) and to compensate for no xbox revenue MS usually gives a healthy chunk in return. however, that money usually goes towards funding the game being made at all. if their game is a game pass exclusive then they do not get revenue from sales at all, but would presumably still be charged by unity for every installation on an Xbox or pc; gamepass has around 25 million subscribers. if unity follows through on this, Microsoft is gonna have to shell out a LOT more to developers to make their offers seem lucrative. companies like MiHoYo are more likely to shrug it off and pay the fee, because they make bank and this will ultimately not impact their revenue because they're sustained by gacha whales. (mhy is also an investor in the Chinese unity counterpart, for what it's worth)

in general, there's a huge misconception with how money in games works. indie games rarely break even when considering the investments made, because they tend to have recoup that demands revenue from the game sales making up for the money invested to pay the development teams. the hope is that games eventually make enough revenue to pay back the recoup and then go towards helping sustain the team. game studios RARELY make enough money to sustain themselves from sales alone-- most indies are afloat on a pitch-by-pitch basis, with a few viral exceptions that afford studios time to breathe and maintain their releases without immediately scrambling to get the next game pitched and funded.

Bethesda Game Studios announced that The #ElderScrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered attracted 4 million players shortly after its surprise launch, marking a strong debut.

Unveiled on Tuesday after years of leaks, the remaster was released via a shadow drop on #Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC #GamePass. Although this player count includes Game Pass subscribers and does not reflect total sales, it indicates strong engagement. Developed mainly by Virtuos with #Bethesda's support, Oblivion Remastered features upgraded visuals through Unreal Engine 5 and new voice recordings, while the original Gamebryo engine remains intact.

Good morning, my soul. Well, I got enough Microsoft rewards points yesterday to get xbox gamepass ultimate for the next three months. It really almost pays for itself if your vigilant and really have nothing else in your life. I mean, it's just okay Microsoft games on PC and console for 15 minutes. Microsoft Jewel on mobile, use the mobile app, and search with Bing on the app, browser, and computer pretty much exclusively, which really isn't all that difficult. There's a few other things to do fault, but it's not bad at all. Maybe an hour out of my life daily. Gives me something to do without you. I'm sorry I haven't left you yet. I just can't bring myself to go without being told to. Not with you. It hurts too much to not even pretend I'm talking to you. I know my energy must disgust you being even that close, but it is the only way I can protect you now. So, try to ignore that sphere of energy surrounding your house. It's a fast add i can push it away from you and still pretend I'm doing something for you.

Owning digital/gamepass vs physical?

Owning digital/gamepass vs physical? Sorry if this isn't the right place, seems mostly gaming related so thought I'd try my luck.So me and my friend got into an argument over how digital games are becoming more prevalent over physical copies. His view on it is that with digital copies and gamepass games you don't "own" the game and that they could take it away at any time. He also thinks that paying for gamepass ultimate is supporting this "not owning your own games business model" and that I shouldn't pay for it. He also doesn't think you can be prevented from playing a physical copy of the game.My view is no matter if it's digital, physical, or gamepass you are just buying a license to use the game, which they have a right to revoke at any time. I said I think if they really wanted to they could prevent you from playing even a physical copy of the game by hardware ID banning or some other type of ban. I also said I believe that unless your willing to buy a whole new console to avert a ban, or only play offline story games and never connect your console to the internet that it's pointless to be worried about them taking away your games regardless if you own physical or digital.So my main questions are,does it matter what medium you bought the game through or is it always just a license to play?Are the developers of the game or Xbox themselves able to prevent you from playing a physical copy of a game without you buying a new console?
