There is something to be said about how Sinners isn't saying to lock the door on black culture and never let anyone else in. A big part of the scene of Sammie singng at the juke joint is the fact that there are other cultures involved. The chinese characters are accepted gladly and their culture is also shown in the process of looking back and forward.

In my opinion Sinners does point to the issue that white supremacy and a lot of white people who don't think they are racist like to iron over the culture they take in. Seperate it from the context and the people who created the culture until the heart of it is basically gone.

Remmick is a racist, but he also would have likely had a chance to interact with the culture in a normal way and connect with his own if he had just accepted that he wasn't the center of Sammie's music. The need to rip away Sammie's memories, talent, and culture and assimilate it into the hoard for his own gain without caring about what that culture means for the people it came from is the issue with Remmick. It is also the issue with a lot of people who want to view and interact with black culture, but get icked out when they actually have to be faced with the centuries of struggle that led to that genre of music, or dance, or hairstyle being created.

It’s kinda hilarious to me how down with murder Merlin is. Like I feel like most shows, especially family shows, have the character at least be morally conflicted about killing. If not out right refusing to kill.

Merlin does not give two shits. He murks someone in the first episode, zero conflict. His body count must be at least in the thousands by the end of the show (considering he took out a whole army). But let’s not forget all the up close and personal murders he commits.

I recently rewatched the changeling, and in that episode in quick succession he kills Grunhilda, the Sidhe and then gives Gaius a look like “do I need to do everything myself?” And gives Elena the potion. ZERO fucks given, he is so unfazed. Merlin is always down for murder. It’s so funny.

how tall is Tenna?! here's a rough estimate 📺👀

so we haven't had any official confirmation of Tenna's ridiculous height yet, and i haven't been able to yank sprites from the game... however. there's a handy little Deltarune height chart made by an anonymous user some time ago, which gives a rough indication of the height of each character:

crucially, we see Kris' height is 5'1.5": this is great for us, because we see Kris next to Tenna frequently!!

if we round down Kris' height to 5", we see that Tenna is approximately three Krises tall without his antennae, and nearly four Krises with them!!

that means Tenna is at least 15 feet tall, but if you count the antennae, his whole height is closer to 19 feet.

caleb gets in a bad mood when he has to wipe away the lipstick mark you leave on his cheek in the morning.

not because you left one and it's an inconvenience — absolutely not. you can mark him up as much as you want, and the thought of complaining would never cross his mind.

he gets sulky because clearly showcasing that he has a significant other to those in the fleet would get you in danger, so he reluctantly wipes it off. still, it makes him more strict during the day, and the recruits under him can feel his cranky mood.

and with an exhausted sigh, they all respond "yes, colonel xia," wondering if he got up on the wrong side of the bed that morning.

the solution to his sulky attitude on days where he has to work is simple though — just leave a kiss mark on the junction between his neck and shoulder, so that he can hide it under his uniform. sure, a possible consequence is that you'll both get to work a little late, him with a bit of a dazed look on his face and reddened ears, but as long as the recruits don't have to run more laps for no reason? no one will comment on it.

alternatively, if caleb's having an off day and you leave a kiss mark anywhere on his face? he's never wiping it off. he loves running errands with you handiwork displayed on him.

when older ladies in the grocery store stop him and comment on it. he'll flash them a giddy smile and say something along the lines of "isn't she just the greatest?" and walk away with more pep in his step — while they fawn over how lucky that loverboy's darling is.
