Tales From Dragon Inc. Chapter 1: The Lunch Thief

Yuya hummed happily as he worked on his paperwork. It was almost his lunch break, and he couldn’t wait to eat. Yuto had made him a special bento, and his cooking was absolutely delicious!

The tomato-haired boy checked the clock again. Just a few more seconds and it would be lunchtime! His tummy growled loudly at the thought of Yuto’s cooking, and he licked his lips. He was so hungry! He couldn’t wait.

“Five… four… three… two… one… LUNCHTIME!” Yuya cheered, jumping up from his chair. He rushed into the break room and threw the fridge door open, eagerly looking for his lunch.

But…

It wasn’t there…

There were plenty of bentos in the fridge, each with another employee’s name on them, but Yuya’s was nowhere to be found. He couldn’t believe it! He didn’t want to believe it! This couldn’t be happening! Oh no!

“No… nononononono!” Yuya cried, looking frantically through the fridge. “No, c’mon, tell me it’s still here!”

“What’s up, Yuya?~” Yuri purred, walking into the break room. “What’s all the fuss about?~”

“My lunch is missing!” Yuya wailed. “Someone stole my lunch!”

“WHAT?!” Yuri was furious. “Yuto, Yugo! Get in here!”

“What do you want, Yuri?” Yugo asked, walking into the break room.

“Someone stole Yuya’s lunch!”

“WHAT?!” Yuto was in the break room in a flash. He strode over to the fridge and began looking through it. When he didn’t see the lunch he made for Yuya inside, he was outraged.

Their boss, Zarc, walked into the break room for some coffee. He frowned when he saw the identical murderous looks on Yuto, Yuri, and Yugo’s faces, and the look of devastation on Yuya’s. “Ok, what happened?”

“Someone stole Yuya’s lunch!” Yuto said. “I worked hard on that lunch for him, and now it’s gone!”

Now Zarc was pissed too. He didn’t like the idea of having a thief working for him, especially one that stole the lunch of his favorite employee. He walked out of the break room and came back a few minutes later with a card.

“Yugo, take Yuya out to lunch. Use the company card to pay for it,” Zarc said, tossing the card to Yugo. “Yuri, Yuto, you two figure out who stole Yuya’s lunch, and tell me immediately when you do.”

“Yes, sir!” they all said together. Yugo gently guided Yuya out of the building as Yuri and Yuto began looking for the thief.

“So, where should we begin?” Yuri asked.

“Well, we could start by making a list of who we don’t trust, and interrogate them?” Yuto suggested.

“Sure. Let’s see… we’ve got a couple of new employees right? The guy in accounting, the guy in IT, the girl in HR…” Yuri listed.

“Didn’t Yuya say the new girl in HR is his childhood friend?” Yuto asked. “I think he even recommended her for the position. I don’t think she’d steal his lunch.”

“Can’t hurt to make sure, right?” Yuri pointed out. “Oh, and there’s also that new guy in sales. You know, the one that seems super sketchy. We should check him first.”

“What was sketchy about him?” Yuto asked, raising an eyebrow.

“I don’t know, just the feeling I got when I saw him. He feels like the kind of person that would take credit for other people’s ideas and throw people under the bus when he makes a mistake…”

Yuto blinked. As much as he didn’t want to admit it, Yuri was very good at sensing that kind of stuff. If he thought the new guy in sales was sketchy, then he was probably right. “Ok… well, yeah, we can check him first if you want…”

“I do want.”

So Yuto and Yuri went off to the new guy’s cubicle. Said new guy was devouring a bento that looked awfully familiar to Yuto. He recognized the tomato designs on the box, and the homemade yakisoba with pork, homemade fries, broccoli, and strawberries in the box. There were even the sticks with the cute little octopus and shrimp tempura toppers that Yuya adored in the broccoli!

“I think we found our thief,” Yuto muttered to Yuri. Yuri nodded, and they walked up to the new guy.

“Hey, there!” Yuri said with a smile that screamed murder. “Whatcha eating?”

“My lunch,” the new guy said with a mouthful of yakisoba.

“Oh, looks good! What is it? Is that yakisoba, fries, broccoli, and strawberries?” Yuri asked.

“Yeah, so?”

“Hey, Yuto, isn’t that exactly what you packed for Yuya’s lunch? You know, the one that someone stole from the fridge before he could eat it?”

The new guy froze and looked up.

“Yeah, it is,” Yuto said. “And hey, that bento box looks exactly like Yuya’s too!”

“Mhmm!” Yuri agreed. “So… who was it that made your lunch that looks exactly like our friend’s stolen lunch, hmm?”

“Uhh… my wife?” the new guy said nervously.

“Ah, your wife huh? Well she must really have the same tastes as Yuto! After all, she made the exact same thing he did!”

“Yeah, and she even used the same sticks I used in Yuya’s broccoli!”

“Uh… heh, wow what a wild coincidence, haha!” the new guy said. He was starting to sweat a little.

“You know, Yuya is everyone’s favorite coworker,” Yuri said casually. “He’s such a sweetheart! He makes everyone smile and laugh. Even the CEO adores him! In fact, I’m pretty sure whoever stole Yuya’s lunch is going to really regret it when Zarc catches them! I doubt they’ll ever be able to find a job in this industry again!”

“I-is that so?” the new guy was definitely sweating a lot more now.

Yuto looked down into the little wire wastebasket next to the desk. There was a little paper with some writing in it. He leaned down to pluck it out, and read the writing out loud.

“Yuya, I hope this lunch brightens your day as much as you brighten mine! Love, Yuto.”

“So, still gonna stick with the My wife made this bento for me story?” Yuri asked the new guy.

“I-I…”

Yuto and Yuri looked at him for a few moments. Then Yuri turned and yelled loud enough to make everyone in the office jump. “ZARC! WE FOUND THE THIEF THAT STOLE YUYA’S LUNCH! IT’S WHATSHISFACE, THE NEW GUY IN SALES!”

“SEND HIM TO MY OFFICE!” Zarc yelled back from his office.

Yuri smirked at the new guy. “Welp, you heard the boss! Off you go!”

The new guy reluctantly shuffled to Zarc’s office. Everyone he passed gave him the death glare. Yuri wasn’t lying when he said that Yuya was everyone’s favorite coworker. Stealing a coworker’s lunch was already an unforgivable crime, but stealing Yuya’s lunch was even worse!

The door to Zarc’s office closed behind the new guy, and moments later the sound of Zarc yelling at him could be heard. Yuri smirked, enjoying the sound of a bad employee being yelled at.

“Well, I’m going to have lunch now,” Yuto said. “You coming?”

“Yeah, I’m right behind you!” Yuri said, following Yuto to the break room.

Fortunately for them, their lunches were still in the fridge.

Another thing for @lazella! Like my last post, this is based on her TWST x YGO crossover fic, And You Thought Things Were Over. This time, I did the Bracelet Girls from Arc V!

Like Yuto, Yugo, and Yuri, I don't know if they'll be making any appearances in lazella's fic, but I really hope they do. These are just my headcanons, so take them with a grain of salt.

First, Yuzu Hiiragi! I imagine her in Scarabia along with Yuya. She's very thoughtful and smart, has a good head on her shoulders, and despite her hot temper, she has a kind heart and is always looking out for others. She has blue bows to mimic the blue hair clips she always wears. (The game also didn't the right shade of pink for her little hair dangles. I made them lilac to contrast her hair.)

Second, we have Serena (Celina) in Heartslabyul. Now, I know what you're thinking; she's a rebel. Why put her in a place with all those rules? It's two fold. One, the most basic answer is because of her uniform in the anime. It's red, and I just couldn't help myself. Two, she kind of gives off Alice vibes. A girl who lived in a straight and uptight community suddenly thrown into a place where nothing makes sense. I feel like she would question Riddle a lot about the rules and maybe get collared once or twice because of it.

(Her hair bow is white because the game doesn't have a yellow bow option. I think she would have a diamond like in the first picture, but the second was inspired by @wearepopcandies' art of the girls as Queen Cards.)

Next, we have Rin in Ignihyde. Like Yugo, Rin is a mechanic and is very good with machines. She would be the motherly figure that I think the dorm needs, telling them to take breaks, reminding them to take care of themselves, and, probably most importantly, keeping Yugo in check. Idia would learn to fear her since she appears to be everywhere at once and scolds him for his own neglect to his health. Basically, she gives off major Big Sister vibes.

(Again, the game did not have right shade of green for her hair, so I made two, one dark green and one blonde, in order to try and create sort of a visual point of reference for her hair? If that makes sense?)

Finally, we have Ruri Kurosaki, or Lulu Obsidian in the English dub. I put her in Octavinelle with Yuto. Like him, she has a calm disposition and a kind heart. She is also the most graceful of the Bracelet Girls and gives off Kind Big Sister vibes. She's one of the few people that can tell Floyd off without being threatened that he's gonna squeeze her. I couldn't get her hair completely accurate due to the game's limited options.

Edit: Thinking more about it, Ruri might also be a fit for Pomefiore too.

And yes, all the girls have their bracelets. I imagine in this world, the bracelets act like magic pens, letting the girls use magic for a short amount of time. I don't know how magical the bracelets actually are, but considering that they allow the girls to teleport the boys away from each other in order to keep Zarc at bay, I would imagine that the abilities of the bracelets would expand in a world full of magic, and the girls would develop their own magical abilities, like the boys.

Again, take this with a grain of salt since this is not my AU. I know lazella has something amazing planned for the future chapters and I for one cannot wait!

Yuzu Hiragi

First Impression

wow…she’s pink and girl…and she has a music note on her and uses a musical deck…wow yugioh truly amazing (I was like 15 her design came out soooo)

My daughter, precious child who I’d adopt but I don’t need to because Shuzo is Best Dad. 

imho she’s the best written female protag to date in ygo (tho Mai is also very good but she aint the female protag). I love Aki and Asuka and Kotori but as their series went on they become more focused on their relationship to the male protag and YEA that happens with Yuzu too but her other bonds are never forgotten later. 

I love her so much….manga please treat her right….

When she head butted Roger and knocked him to the ground. 

Her duel with Yuri (I WISHED THEY SHOWED US THAT) because she lasted all night against him and the Back Flip.

Her team ups with Gongenzaka and Sora are too good, too pure.

Also I lover her reunion with Serena and Yuya in fusion before shit hit the fan.

Idea for a story

For a one shot I was thinking of doing something where in post canon she accidentally calls Shun nii-san and Rin and Serena follow suit and get super flustered and Shun is just happy.

Long run I mentioned before an idea if the anime took the manga route with the girls after Zarc, but I was thinking about another pre-canon. Basically Leo doesn’t really care about reviving the original world (it already got destroyed what if it came back like that), he just wants Ray. So instead of causing a fucking war he goes dimension hoping and eventually kidnaps all the girls in secret so fusion and xyz are normal. He tries combining them into Ray but it just cases Rin, Ruri, and Serena to become spirits/souls instead Yuzu. Yuzu escapes and meets a less psychotic Yuri and idk from there lol

Unpopular Opinion

That she ‘ruins’ everything???? Ever since I think ep 89 it was people have been saying she’s been getting away of the plot (When she literally one of the main focal points and kick starters to it technically). I even saw some people say on YouTube that they were glad she disappeared because she won’t be in the way >_> leave my bby alone

Ya’ll know I’m a huge sluts for the fruits. Hands down the best written male protag x female protag in ygo to date. Literally they are Relationship Goals.

Her bond with Sora is also a++++ (that exchange of them doing the fusion pose in synchro ahhhh)

Favorite headcanon

After Yuya and Reiji, she became the third person throughout the dimensions to master all the summonings. It took her awhile though because she kept restructuring her deck because she wanted to have Rin, Ruri, and Serena’s essences in her deck so it feels like they’re all dueling.

RANDOM AU IDEA

I was thinking more about this KH x Arc V idea and I came up with this:

Yuya and Yuzu are Sora and Kairi of course I mean there roles fit perfectly to a tea, I mean even Yuzu can fit as a Princess of Hearts.

Sora is Riku (yes that’s the irony of that) considering how he pretty much go through a redemption arc and works with KH1 plot considering he wanted to protect Yuzu in the Sychro arc similar to how Riku does to Kairi.

Reiji is Mickey Leader of his kingdom who goes out to find the source of the disappearing worlds/dimensions which he entrusted Shingo and Gon (yea you can tell their roles) to find the key which in turn find Yuya and in turn SMILES!

Serena is Namine tho in term of role and not Personality (honestly she’s the only other Bracelet Girl who had interaction with Yuya so)

Yuto and Shun are Roxas and Axel with he whole Bash Brothers dynamic and with Yuto being absorbed by Yuya it makes sense that he’s his Nobody.

Ruri is Xion because Augst for Yuto and have some Familiarity in meeting Serena/Namine

Yuri is Vantias enough said

Which pretty much leaves Rin and Yugo as Aqua and Ven. Terra I guess can either be Crow or Shijij I guess? (there aren’t alot of Syrcho characters) tho the dynamic might change a bit.

Heck we can vaguely add Zarc and Ray into the mix with the Keyblade War which Ray led the fray and seal Zarc in the DnD (maybe he the source of the hearless?) thus trying to gain KH also unleashes the Supreme King Zarc. 

Also Leo is Ansem the Wise cause he works for the Wise Atoner type (tho whether he’s related to Reiji or not is up to debate)

The Lucky Dragon, Chapter 8: Submission

Yuri had apparently still refused to admit that he was a good person by the time Zarc reached the resort, because Yuto was still tickling him when Zarc got home. But now it seemed that Yuya and Yugo had also ganged up on the cabbage and were tickling him too.

“EEHEEHEEHEEHEEHEE! NAHAHAHAHAHA! STAHAHAHAHA!” Yuri sounded like he was going insane from the tickling. He was the most stubborn of Zarc’s boyfriends, almost as stubborn as Zarc himself, and would probably not submit for at least another half hour.

Zarc chuckled when he saw Yuto, Yugo, and Yuya pinning Yuri to the sofa and tickling him mercilessly. Tears of laughter were streaming down the cabbage-head’s face. Zarc walked over to the sofa and smiled. “Having fun?”

“Yeah!” Yuya said cheerfully. Yugo leaned down and blew a raspberry against Yuri’s tummy, eliciting a squeal from the cabbage. Yuri thrashed around under his boyfriends, howling with laughter. “ZAHAHAHAHARC! HEHEHEHEHELP!”

“Hmm, nah,” Zarc chuckled. “Someone has to make dinner! Have fun!”

“ZAHAHAHAHARC YOUHOUHOUHOUH TRAITOHOHOHOHOR!” Yuri squealed, trying fruitlessly to get his arms free from where they were pinned under Yuto. Zarc just smiled and ruffled his pink-and-purple hair before heading to the kitchen to make dinner. He was in the mood for cheeseburgers.

“We’ll stop tickling you once you admit that you’re a wonderful person!” Yuto promised Yuri. Yuri squealed in indignation. “NEHEHEHEHEVER! HEEHEEHEEHEEHEE! I’LL NEHEHEHEHEVER SAHAHAHAHAHAY THAHAHAHAT!”

“Say it!” Yuya giggled, dragging a nail up the sole of Yuri’s left foot, before scrabbling his fingers back down it and repeating. Yuri wiggled his foot frantically.

Yugo smiled and kissed Yuri’s belly button, before blowing a raspberry against it. Yuri shrieked with laughter, shaking his head frantically. “NAHAHAHAHAHAHA!” Yugo smirked at his helplessness as he slipped a finger into Yuri’s belly button, wiggling it around.

Yuri felt like he was losing his mind at the tickle torture he was experiencing. It wasn’t often that his boyfriends ganged up on him and tickled the living daylights out of him. Usually they ganged up on Yuya and tickled him mercilessly. But at least Zarc wasn’t tickling Yuri too right now. Zarc was incredibly devious with his tickling, and would definitely put a blindfold on the cabbage and use baby oil to make the tickling more intense.

Yuto was tickling Yuri’s armpits, but his hands slowly started creeping down toward Yuri’s ribs and sides. Those were his death spots, and Yuri knew that he wouldn’t be able to take much more if Yuto’s hands continued on their path. He frantically thrashed around, trying desperately to free himself. But his boyfriends just chuckled and continued their torture.

“NAHAHAHAHA! OHOHOHOHOKAHAHAHAHAY! YOU WIHIHIHIN! I’M A WOHOHOHOHONDERFUHUHUHUHUL PERHERHERHERHERSOHOHOHOHON! PLEAHEAHEAHEASE! PLEAHEAHEASE! STOHOHOHOP! HAHAHAHAHA!” Yuri wailed, finally reaching his breaking point. He couldn’t take any more.

Fortunately for the cabbage-head, his boyfriends all stopped tickling him when he submitted and told them what they wanted to hear. Yuto smiled and leaned down to kiss Yuri. “Good boy!” Yuri shivered a little in excitement at the praise.

“You guys finished?” Zarc asked from the kitchen with a smile. Yuya nodded. “Yep!”

“Just in time too!” Zarc said. “Dinner’s ready!”

Tales From Dragon Inc. Chapter 16: Pancakes

Zarc woke up the next morning much later than normal, thanks to the jet lag from coming home from Bali and the late night he and his boyfriends had traveling. His boyfriends were all in bed with him, Yuto, Yuri, Yugo… huh? Where was Yuya?

Zarc wasn’t too worried about Yuya being missing from bed. No doubt he’d just awoken earlier than everyone else since he’d been asleep when they’d arrived at Zarc’s apartment complex. Plus, the smell of food made Zarc relax. No doubt Yuya had decided to make breakfast since he was the first one awake.

Zarc carefully disentangled himself from his boyfriends and got up, walking into the kitchen. Sure enough, Yuya was making pancakes. He’d already made a stack of at least twenty pancakes, and was still hard at work at the stove. He was humming happily as he flipped a pancake in the pan.

“Morning, Yuya!” Zarc said, wrapping his arms around Yuya’s waist. Yuya squeaked in surprise and jumped a little, having not noticed his boyfriend enter. But he quickly relaxed and giggled. “Good morning Zarc! I’m making breakfast for everyone!”

“Mm, pancakes!” Zarc said, smiling. “Is it your family recipe?”

“Mhm!” Yuya said. “Family secret. No asking for it!”

Zarc chuckled. Yuya had learned how to make pancakes from his mother, but would never share the recipe with his boyfriends. Apparently the recipe called for a secret ingredient, but only Yuya knew what it was. His mother, who adored his boyfriends, had promised to teach them the secret ingredient if they ended up marrying Yuya.

Zarc kissed the top of Yuya’s head. “I can’t wait to eat them!”

Enchanted, Chapter 6: The Figure

Unbeknownst to the four beings, they had an audience watching them from the shadows. A shadow-like figure observed the four boys, intrigued by the similarities in their faces. Like Yuri, the figure had heard Yuya singing every night, and had been enchanted by the beautiful sound. The figure had watched as Yuri had found the merfolk, and followed as he’d brought Yuya home with him. The figure had observed as Yuya freed Yuto from his prison of servitude, and as Yugo had crash-landed in Yuri’s garden.

The figure was simply fascinated by these beautiful creatures. They reminded him of himself, and the figure wanted to keep them all for himself. To allow someone else the chance to steal these lovely things from him was simply unthinkable. He couldn’t risk it. He wouldn’t allow it!

“My pretty little Yuus,” he murmured. “You’re mine. All mine! Nobody else can have you!”

Serendipity, Chapter 6: Phone Call

Zarc woke up a few hours later to the sound of his phone ringing. Groaning, he reached blindly for it and checked the caller ID. Much to his displeasure, it was Kairi. Zarc groaned again and rejected the call. Unfortunately, his soon-to-be-ex-wife didn’t seem to take a hint and called him again, and then again when he rejected the second call.

He had half a mind to just turn his phone on silent, but he didn’t want to risk missing an emergency if something came up. What if something happened to his new friends and they had to call him for help? What if Kairi went to their dorms?

Groaning once more, he decided to take the next call. Which was a bit of a mistake. The moment he answered the phone, Kairi started screaming at him. “YOU TOLD MY PARENTS?!”

“Of course I told your parents!” Zarc snapped. “If I hadn’t, you would’ve lied to them and tried to spin the story to make it seem like I’m divorcing you for no legitimate reason, or told them I was the one cheating, or said something else to make me the bad guy!”

“They’re so mad at me now!” Kairi shrieked. “They won’t let me stay with them! Daddy says he’s going to disown me! You have to fix this!”

“I don’t have to do anything,” Zarc replied. “You’re the one that cheated. You’re the one that has to deal with the consequences of your actions.”

“Well where am I supposed to go now?” Kairi demanded. “It’s going to take me eight hours to get back home! I can’t drive for that long! I need to sleep! I’m so tired!”

“Figure it out,” Zarc said. “And stop calling me. I need to sleep. It’s after 1 in the morning and I have work.”

He hung up the phone, then decided to block Kairi’s number until he was ready to talk to her again. She would have to get a hotel. Actually she probably wouldn’t be able to get one. She’d made it a habit to bring no money or cards with her whenever the two of them went out or had dinner in a restaurant together so that Zarc would have to pay for everything, and it was unlikely that Kairi had gone home long enough to grab anything before heading off to her parents’ house.

Oh well, it wasn’t Zarc’s problem! Kairi would have to sleep in her car or something if she didn’t have money for a hotel. Zarc really didn’t care. He went back to sleep and his dreams were peaceful.

Ethereal Embrace, Chapter 2: Deal

Yuya never expected something like this to happen to him. He didn’t understand why it was happening either. He was supposed to be on his way to a concert hall to perform his first show, but instead he was tied to an altar surrounded by a circle of black candles, with a chanting hooded figure standing nearby.

Yuya was a young, up-and-coming singer, very popular online. He’d posted his own covers of songs translated from other languages, and he’d become a very beloved singer over the course of three years. He’d even started writing his own original songs, most of which had quickly risen to the top of the charts.

Despite his popularity online, Yuya would admit that he had a fair amount of haters. He’d been bullied in school for years, and most of his bullies were envious of his success. The tomato-head could see the face of the hooded figure, and recognized her as one of his worst bullies. This bully had dreams of being a famous singer despite her horrendously ear-grating voice, and was incredibly jealous that Yuya had succeeded where she had failed.

Normally, Yuya would try to talk to his bullies, and make an attempt to talk them out of whatever they were trying to do. Normally, he would succeed. But at the moment, his mouth was gagged and he couldn’t speak. Whatever this one was doing, he was powerless to stop it. And he really didn’t want to find out what she was planning.

Unfortunately for him, whatever she was doing seemed to be working. As she chanted, the flames on the black candles flared up, burning blindingly bright before suddenly going out. A sinister voice spoke over Yuya. “Who dares summon the Demon King Zarc?”

“Oh, great Demon King Zarc!” Yuya’s bully replied. “I offer you this boy’s soul in exchange for making me a famous singer!”

There was a hum of amusement, then the demonic voice spoke again, “Hey, isn’t that Sakaki Yuya? I love your music, Yuya! I’ll gladly take this deal! I’m going to really enjoy having my favorite singer around to sing for me for all eternity!”

Yuya whimpered in terror through his gag as he felt himself being lifted by an unseen force. The demonic voice spoke again, “The deal is sealed. I claim this soul, and you will get what you asked for.”

The bully cheered, and that was the last thing Yuya could remember before he blacked out.

The Lucky Dragon, Chapter 15: Skating Rink

Since the Lucky Dragon Winter Branch was still closed until the grand opening in November, Yuya decided to head to the skating rink in the resort to enjoy the ice without being harassed about backflips. He pouted a little as he laced on his skates, thinking about the annoyance.

His annoyance was alleviated immediately as soon as he got onto the ice. Not a single shout of “No backflips!” rang out. The ice was smooth and new, perfect for skating on. The tomato-head smiled and began skating around, getting a little practice in before doing some ice dancing.

A few jumps and spins in, music suddenly started playing from the skating rink’s speakers. Yuya smiled and adjusted his ice dancing to match the music. His eyes were closed and he was so lost in his dancing that he didn’t notice he had an audience until he heard clapping and cheering at the end. His ruby eyes opened, and he saw his boyfriends standing near the rink watching him.

Yuya smiled and skated over to his boyfriends, doing a little flourish and a bow as he reached them. Yuri grinned and said, “That was really good! You definitely gotta teach me!”

“Me too!” Yugo said eagerly. Yuto chuckled. “I think we’d all love some ice skating lessons from Yuya!”

“Well, I already know how to ice skate, but it wouldn’t hurt to brush up on my skills,” Zarc said, offering Yuya a steaming cup. “Try this hot chocolate. It’ll warm you up. It’s got matcha powder and azuki paste!”

“Ooh, sounds delicious!” Yuya said, happily taking the cup. “Thanks!”

“It’s so good!” Yugo said, showing Yuya his own half-empty cup. “So good!” He took a sip of his half-finished drink, smiling happily.

Yuya sipped his hot chocolate and smiled. “It’s delicious!” he said. Zarc beamed proudly. “Good! I made that recipe myself! I’m glad you like it!”

Phantom Corporation, Chapter 1: Job Hunt

Yuya sighed as he looked through his emails, hoping to find one from one of the many jobs he’d applied for. It was getting difficult for him to be able to afford his living expenses on his meager part-time salary, especially since he was a full-time college student. Plus, his boss was a bully, always trying to schedule him for work during his classes and belittling him for being a student. He really needed a new job.

Even though he’d applied for at least fifty jobs in the last month and even more before, nobody ever seemed to get back to him. He hadn’t gotten a single call, nor even an email, except for one rejection email a few weeks ago for Aeon. It really stung to receive the rejection, but at least it didn’t leave him wondering.

Yuya refreshed his email to see if a new one popped up, though he didn’t expect one. Yet, to his surprise, a new email appeared at the top of the list. It was from a company called the Phantom Corporation. Strange, Yuya didn’t remember ever contacting a company by that name. Curiosity filled the young college student, and he opened the email.

“Dear Sakaki Yuya, We hope this message finds you well. We are thrilled to inform you that you have been selected for an exclusive opportunity with us at the Phantom Corporation! Your unique qualities have caught our attention, and we would love to discuss a potential collaboration. Details of your interview are as follows: Date: September 21, Time: 8:45AM, Location: 1183 Sarada-Odori Suite 5

At Phantom Corporation, we specialize in innovative projects that celebrate individuality and creativity. This is a fantastic chance to explore your potential and be part of something truly special.”

Yuya blinked in surprise. He’d heard of the Phantom Corporation, it was a pretty big company, though he didn’t actually know what kind of business it was exactly. But if they were offering him an interview then this was a very big step in the right direction! Hopefully it wasn’t a scam.
