My late submission for the Zukaang bingo from earlier this week!

My intention was to cover both the “Festival” and “Ceremony” prompts - I thought a lantern festival would be a good fit! I was inspired by that one Wangxian scene from The Untamed (for the MDZS fans out there) ☺️

This ended up turning into a much bigger project than I initially anticipated because I got super invested in it and wanted to try out different coloring styles lol. I’m quite happy with how it came out! The lantern lighting was a lot of fun to do.

Written for @zukaangservercommunity Mini Bingo April 2024 under the (extremely loose interpretation of) prompt, "festival" Summary: Aang and Zuko spend a wine and laughter-soaked night reading through unsent letters from Sozin to Roku on the eve of Aang's 27th birthday festival. Rating: T+

In this AU, Zuko lured Aang into the Fire Nation with promise of teaching him how to Firebend. He teaches Aang the basic forms but as he gets to know him, his culture and just him as ‘Aang’, not as the Avatar, Zuko finds himself slowly falling in love.

Zukaang Server is hosting a Mini Bingo from April 7th to 9th!

What is a bingo? A Bingo is a prompt event for fans to challenge themselves to create more fic or art. Usually it’s a fic-based event, but the Zukaang Bingo is open to both authors and artists!

What counts as a bingo? A line of three filled out squares counts as a bingo. This can be horizontal, vertical or diagonal!

Can I combine prompts? Yes, you are allowed to combine up to two prompts per work.

My prompt is SFW but I want to add smut Participants over the age of 18 are allowed to write/draw smut, as long as it has the proper tags and warnings added.
