"Обійми ті, немов пазурі звіра,
І чи моя в тому була провина,
Що обійняв мене попри те,
Що я не хотіла?..
Червоний слід веде у ліс
Білим снігом..."

On Sunday evening went with my friend to a goth concert. A celebration of life and resilience, I guess. So many beautiful people, dressed in their best gothic attires, in the old Little Opera building, a shabby 1900 building that hasn't been taken care of the way it deserves. All added to the atmosphere.
Zwyntar, the band that performed that night, has the song, that goes as such: Dance and drink, tomorrow it will be late, dance and drink, tomorrow death comes.
And you know what? Best antistress in a while. I needed to jump and scream to those lyrics. Of course, I was plagued before and after by thoughts who of us present here will or won't survive by the end of this ruthless, cruel war, but at that moment, it was good. It was good to celebrate the life.

This poem is by Sasha Zwyntar, and the translation is mine.
You're saying that you just can't handle it anymore.
But you are.
Handling the wounded in a medevac car.
Handling dog food for the dogs at ground zero,
Handling the post to get meds to the heroes,
And border control--for the old, the young, and their cats
You're handling that, too, and much more than that.
You're saying that you just can't handle it anymore.
But you are!
You're waiting, you're hating, you're counting your scars,
Loving like mad, and dreaming, and growling,
Going to work while the air siren's howling,
Tackling hard problems in class--or in command,
Digging up trenches--or potatoes that grow on your land.
You're saying that you just can't handle it anymore.
But you are!
Staying true to yourself in a world that's bizarre,
Gritting teeth, setting forth, despite all of the pain,
Driving cars through minefields under fiery rain,
Keeping tight hold of those who can no longer hold on,
And reading the news of a city that's gone.
This kind of bravery doesn't always get medals,
But day after day you keep proving your mettle.
You scream or you cry--and charge into the bout!
You really are handling it.
And I couldn't be more proud.

In the swamp
I was inspired by song "Трясовина" from Zwyntar and wanted to sketch something with Sofiia in times before she became kindred

I know
That each of you
Death will take when the time comes
I know
Your days are short
When drown guilt in wine
Dance and drink
While alive
Because tomorrow will be late
Dance and drink
While alive
Because tomorrow Death will come
Zwyntar "Танцюй і Пий" [x]
