the right to tantrum
One of the things that Lilith learned rather early about her proteg茅's home life was how Odalia applied discipline. The woman expected composure and grace at every moment, which was ridiculous when focused on very young children.
Amity never learned to tantrum. Or rather, how to release emotions in a chaotic manner. Naturally she tried, but the repression was strong enough to suffocate every attempt.
During their classes, Lilith could see awkward displays of frustration and anger that always ended with the child pulling some of her own hair out or vomiting out of stress. It was unthinkable to her that Amity's way of releasing tension had to be self destructive, so she decided to help the young witchling.
Screaming in pillows, stomping her foot, kicking and crying, all the basic ingredients for a perfect child freak out. Amity struggled specially with the voice related ones since any screaming had been punished harshly throughout her childhood.
The girl did try to scream but her voice disappeared and she felt nauseous again.
Lilith felt victorious when for the first time, after months of effort, she witnessed an ear-splitting screech coming from her very furious ward. Amity was losing her shit about a prank her siblings did and was throwing herself on the floor of the Head Witch's office like a shameless toddler. The irony of the situation didn't escape her, but she was proud of how nicely her kid was re-learning basic childhood stages.
After a good crying fit, Amity was usually more relaxed, better focused and emotionally soothed. Lilith then could introduce some more advanced tips and mechanisms for the girl to use and try to regulate her feelings in a healthier manner.
Amity forever had a safe place to go ape-shit with her teacher. As she got older she realized how important it was to have that space and how amazingly Lilith dealt with it. Why did the woman went to such length for her was a mystery, but she was thankful.

A Heart At Arm's Length is an Alternate Timeline/Royalty x Knight style AU where Murph replaces Darius as Coven Head after he mysteriously disappears. Steve is assigned as their personal bodyguard when they move to the castle and they start a secret relationship 馃か More lore under the cut!
In an alternate timeline, MURPH is headhunted as a promising Abomination witch at a very young age and receives special training and mentorship from Darius. They officially become his apprentice at 16; they still attend school but are seen as a minor celebrity and incredibly isolated from their peers.
When Darius vanishes from the Boiling Isles with no trace, rumours swirl about his disappearance and Murph must take his place. Appointed at 25, they are the youngest Coven Head in history. Darius taught them a lot about power and political influence, and they maintain a careful act to gain the respect of the public and fellow coven heads, while also getting what they want. The power of appearances is very important and they permanently have a concealment stone active that makes them look flawless and glamorous no matter what. They appear calculating, sharp and a little detached when at court, but behind closed doors they are very lonely and wish for an easier, more "normal" life.
STEVE got his childhood dream - accepted into the Emperor's Coven at 18. But it hasn't been quite what he wanted up until now - lots of prison duty, late-night patrols and guarding empty corridors. So he jumps at the chance to be an escort for an important public figure - he might get to go somewhere interesting! - but is taken aback when he is assigned to Head Witch Hearthstone, who after several years in power has finally agreed to move into the castle permanently. They were never close friends, but he knew them in school, and now they're one of the most famous people on the island. He decides to remain professional and keep his identity a secret from them, but up close they're nothing like what the news says about them, and he can't help but be drawn towards them. Still, they're acting very suspiciously and Steve is worried they might be up to something other than their coven head duties. He vows to keep a close eye on them and try to learn more - you know, as part of his job...
Over time, the two gain each other's trust and their relationship grows into something more than what would be considered appropriate between a noble and their loyal bodyguard. A public romance between a coven head and a lowly scout would surely cause a scandal, and maybe even punishment for the both of them. Desperate to stay close to each other but not get caught, and afraid to reveal their true feelings too soon in an unbalanced power dynamic, they promise to keep their meetings a secret.
Both of them have to navigate political intrigue, corruption, social decorum and deceit in order to keep their affections undetected. But with the Day of Unity fast approaching and talk of treason running through the castle, can they even trust each other, and will they choose love or loyalty in the final moment?

We've seen Terra, Darius, Raine and Eberwolf pop up in your AU, but if you don't mind me asking, what are the other "heads" up too? Is Adrian still around somewhere causing problems, does Hunter see Tina throw Mason during the Covention, etc.
i feel like i'm hosting a "Where are they now" segment XD
so, without there being coven heads or a draining spell, they all now have other jobs
Tumblr media
Adrien fulfilled his dreams of becoming a director on the isles, trying to get his foot in the door. He is frequently disliked as a director and all of his projects have gotten poor reviews.
Tumblr media
Osran got a professor job at St Epiderms, he's in the running to becoming the next principle
Tumblr media
Mason has a construction company that benefits off of trying to keep people like philip out, rebuilding everything he has ended up destroying
he still hasn't been able to keep him out
Tumblr media
Vitimir is an apprentice at Cornelia's small potion business modern day, so caleb comes by on the regular and sees him at work
there are some suspicions he has involvement with terra but nothing has been confirmed
Tumblr media
Hettie is the Hexside school nurse, i'm sure this isn't a problem

Hunter
currently training as the Golden Guard under Darius' care after his father (the previous Guard) passed away
bonded with Flapjack before he even started training
Luz
taken in by Phillip after landing in the Conformatorium when she first arrived on the Isles
quickly befriended the Collector
gets trained by both Phillip and Eda (cue antics)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Willow & Gus
they ran into Luz and Hunter seperately and had Coven Scouts show up at their door a few days later, delivering two mentorship offers from the Plant and Illusion Coven
aside from their usual lessons they usually shadow Hunter along with Luz to prepare for future Coven duties
Amity
still gets mentored by Lilith, though mostly in the workings of the Emperor's Coven
her Abomination & combat training gets handled by Darius
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Phillip/Emperor Belos
takes one descendant from every Clawthorne-Wittebane generation as an apprentice, which turned into generations of Golden Guards serving him through his rise to power
anominously helped Eda get the treatment for her curse, though there's only so much he can do since he can't exactly show up on her doorstep and Gwendolyn is very stubborn
compensates his own lack of children by adopting every teenager in sight, regardless of whether or not they already have parents
handles his curse through an elixer he invented
Lilith
Head of the Emperor's Coven
shared the curse with Eda after Belos' let it slip that that's possible
still keeps trying to recruit her sister because she would love to work with her sister again, instead of against her
slightly less annoyed by Hunter, actually takes the time to nerd out with him and Luz
loves teaching Amity, basically shares custody over her with Darius (bc f her parents)
Eda
low-level criminal (since wild magic isn't outright banned)
mostly annoys Coven Scouts, her sister and Phillip
ordered to train Luz since her ending up on the Isles is mainly her fault (she quickly grows on her)
she wouldn't have to follow the order but she loves the opportunity to corrupt her many-times-great uncle's ward

For your Dragon AU - Penelope is probably gonna stay with Colin. So her friends get worried. The first one's to come looking for her are probably Michael and Kate, cause they are the most badass. Now Anthony and Francesca see them and immediately know they want them - but while Michael is actually super into the fact that he's managed to seduce a fucking dragon - Kate takes off her shoe, thows it at the fucking beast that keeps sniffing her and leaves, once she knows Pen is alright. Now Anthony kinda stalks her and his siblings follow to keep him in line and that's how BD&E meet their mates. Bonus points if they make friends with the local witch (who Kate and her family live with), Violet's dad's mate, Lady Danbury, and that's how Hyacinth and Gregory end up meeting their mates in form of her punkass grandson and and his quiet little friend who is actually super sweet but always gets in trouble due to her crazy uncle and weird friends 馃ぃ
So the reason Penelope was gone for a few months was that she is an apprentice to Lady Danbury, the most powerful witch in the surrounding area. That's also how she why she was pen pals to Simon, Kate, Sophie, Michael, Phillip, Gareth, and Lucy. They are also apprentices to Lady Danbury and Penelope's coven mates. Her leaving was them all coming together as a coven for the first time.
Two days after Penelope was yoinked into the cave, Lady Danbury notices one of her little shits hasn't come back when she should've been back the night before. So she sends her other little shits to go look for their coven mate. The others were starting to get worried as well because most if not all of them are pretty reliable and the blue moon was coming up soon. The blue moon is important to magic users as it's the only time they have to get certain spells and potion made. That potion took forever damn it! They need all eight of them to finish it.
They go to Penelope's village and some of the villagers pointed them in the direction of the cave. Making their way up they find Penelope in a nearby meadow. Rushing to greet their friend they ask her what happened. She was only supposed to be gone for a few days to meet up with some friends from her village. Penelope tells them that that's what she did but now those friends won't let her leave.
"What do you mean they won't let you leave?"
Penelope points up where eight dragons are circling above the group.
"Pen what the fuck?"
Eight dragons land growling at the coven mates, some of them wrapping their tails around Penelope to pull her back if needed. The coven mates keep a hand on Penelope. Kate throws her shoe at the closest dragon to her. That dragon just happened to be Anthony, and because Anthony's siblings are so mature, the tension is broken as they all start laughing.
With the tension broken Penelope explains to the Bridgertons that these people are her coven mates and she likes them very much so don't bbq them thank you. A deal is made, while the Bridgertons are antsy about letting go of the red head who is pretty much a nest member they will allow her coven mates to stay so the can get their potion done when the blue moon rises.
If the other dragons just so happen to gain an interests in the other coven members and maybe have found their mates as well, well that's just a bonus.

A聽The Count of Monte Cristo聽AU with Eda in the role of Edmond Dantes and Raine in the role of Mercedes. The setting is mainly the Demon Realm, so most characters are Witches and Demons, but there is contact with the Human Realm by way of trading. The Covens exist, thought there is no mandatory joining and branding with Coven Seals - at least it鈥檚 not widely done.
Eda Cawthorne is accused of treason and sent to a horrible prison on the same night she was going to propose to her partner, Raine Whispers. The people who framed Eda are Odalia Bright, Terra Snapdragon, and Phillip Witterbane.
Philip wanted to discredit the respected Cawthorne Family, so he could get enough power and influence to become the ruler of the Boiling Isles, and one of them being accused of treason would ruin their reputation; Terra wanted control over Raine and felt that it would be easier without Eda鈥檚 influence on them, and because she wanted the two to suffer by separating them;聽Eda and Odalia were once friends but Odalia was secretly jealous and resentful of her power and skills, so she joined forces with Phillip and Terra to frame Eda.
Eda spends almost 12 years in the prison (losing an arm), until she learns about a great treasure and escapes. Not sure who could be in the role of Abb茅 Faria, but they help Eda escape at the cost of their life.
On her way to the island where the treasure is (Titan鈥檚 Hold), Eda meet Luz Noceda, an orphan human whom Eda takes in as her apprentice. Arriving at the island, they find baby King, along with the treasure.
Once they have the treasure, Eda and company return the the Boiling Isles. Eda reunites with her Lilith Clawthorne, her sister, and discovers that her parents are dead and that people think Eda died in prison. She also learns that Raine cut contact with Lilith/seemingly forgot about Eda to become Head of the Bard Coven.
(Terra is Head of the Plant Coven and seemingly a confidant to Raine, Odalia has achieved prestige due to Blight Industries (it鈥檚 thanks to her husband) while Phillip is well on his way to become Emperor, and fulfill his secret agenda).
Betrayed, Eda swears to destroy everyone who had a hand in sending her to jail. She spends the next 8 years plotting her revenge with the help of Lilith, Luz, King, even recruiting some other young witches who have been hurt by the elite (Gus, Willow, the Detention Track Kids).
20 years after her arrest, Eda infiltrates high-society as Marilyn, the Countess of Titan鈥檚 Hold. As she works to full-fill her revenge plans, Eda is reunited with Raine who doesn鈥檛 recognize her. Eda is surprised that Raine doesn't聽seem happy with their Coven Head position and that they still fondly remember Eda, even playing their song from time to time. Eda tries focusing on her anger at Raine, but she still has feelings for them.
Meanwhile, Luz (presented as Countess Marilyn鈥檚 daughter) becomes close with Amity Blight, Odalia鈥檚 youngest child. At first, it was to get some dirt on Odalia, but then Luz fell in love with Amity and helped her break free of Odalia鈥檚 control. Amity eventually discovers the truth about Luz, and decides to help her clear Eda鈥檚 name by finding evidence of her mother鈥檚 dirty dealings.
Eda discovers that the reason why Raine became a Coven Head was to the find proof of Phillip鈥檚, Terra鈥檚, and Odalia鈥檚 corruption to clear Eda鈥檚 name. Raine still loves Eda, and her apparent death nearly broke them, but they used it to fuel their determination to bring the corrupted elites down. Witnessing Raine鈥檚 devotion to her, Eda reveals her identity to them. Cue tearful reunion!
The rest is kind of predictable: they find evidence of corruption and destroy Phillip, Terra, and Odalia in satisfying ways. It might involves intense battle sequences cause these bastards won鈥檛 go down without a fight.
Eda and Raine finally marry, Lumity becomes official, everyone lives happily ever after. The end.
I鈥檓 changing the characters ages a bit to fit in with the story.
Eda is 24 when she鈥檚 imprisoned, around 36 when she escapes, and 44 during the main events. Raine is the same age as Eda. Luz, Amity, and the kids are all aged up to around 20-22 years. King is his canon age of about 8 years old.
People don鈥檛 recognize Countess Marilyn as Eda because of her now silver hair (she has orange hair the last time most people saw her), and because she hides her distinctive golden eyes behind sunglasses.
Eda still has her curse, but she made peace with the Owl Beast sometime after she escaped. Lilith still cursed Eda, but it was an accident instead of purposely.
I've never read The Count of Monte Cristo but I'll share this anyways

I鈥檓 new here and seeing a lot of your princess Luz AU, but idk what it鈥檚 about really or what鈥檚 going on. Is there a master post somewhere?
oh hi!!
i don't have a tumblr master post but i do have an ao3 series, four complete fics so far (56k words total). i'm talking about that universe. keep in mind that the fics are horror-based and much more serious than a lot of the shitposts here.
but this is a good time to put all the important bits of AU canon in one place! so consider this a quick exposition masterpost.
the premise:
luz wandered into the isles when she was four or five years old. she was subsequently caught and taken to belos, who decided to raise her as his heir bc, yknow. god must have brought this human to him. eyeroll emoji
a variety of horrific events unfold, which eventually lead to luz killing belos & taking the throne herself when she's nearly 17. with the intention of eventually dismantling the empire. all of this is pretty awful and traumatic for her, it's.... not a fun time. i CAN write a summary of the horrors if you want but it would have to be a whole separate post
other characters' roles:
hunter - hunter has the biggest role storywise besides luz and belos themselves. he's the captain of luz's guard and has been tasked with protecting her by belos. his relationship with belos is dark in ways that luz does not know about for a long time; he's intensely neurotic about keeping her from knowing anything. also he and luz are like Holy Shit codependent and it is Messyyy.
amity - amity is the youngest member of the emperor's coven and being mentored by lilith with the expectation that eventually she'll lead the coven herself. she and hunter have an intense, vicious, and occasionally violent rivalry (based in various jealousy issues & them both being neurotic). amity is very afraid of catching luz's attention bc of the power imbalance between them. but she also knows that luz killed belos.
lilith - largely unchanged from early canon lilith. she's the head of the emperor's -- now empress's -- coven, and intends to ask luz for help with healing eda's curse.
raine - raine is luz's music teacher, the head of the bard coven, and a secret rebel. they care Very Very Very Much about luz. after trespassing in her mind (fic #4 on ao3), they have a much better understanding of why luz has become so much more closed-off and cold and anxious. they've taken on a kind of protective parental role for luz that parallels eda's in canon.
darius - darius is also his secret rebel self, canon backstory intact. he has however gotten along with hunter for much longer in this AU than in the canon, for reasons such as: hunter is less focused on being a cop, hunter so transparently cares about luz that it's hard Not to care about him, n hunter is A Mess. so darius is constantly worried for hunter's wellbeing. similarly he's mentoring amity as a fuck-you to alador, he's pretty much the only adult she trusts besides lilith.
other characters - there are other characters that have yet to show up in any of the ao3 fics. willow as terra snapdragon's apprentice; gus as a wild witch who's still managed to make adrian hate him; vee having escaped to the human world and quickly blown her cover by turning into a toddler-aged luz; camila, after meeting vee and finding out the truth, trying to get to the isles to find the daughter who vanished well over a decade ago. these are all concepts that deserve their own stories, i just haven't written 'em yet.

owl house au where amity and hunter grew up together after odalia disowned amity.
amity had brown hair. therefore, she was different.
different is bad. so she gives the child to alador, tells him to kill her (because you know, mother :3)
alador gives her to darius. darius doesn't want a kid, so he gives baby amity to lilith while he calls a family to adopt her. lilith adopts amity instead.
amity and hunter grow close, like siblings. uncle belos is still a manipulative dipshit, but he brings the emporer coven propaganda into his "gentle" learning
fast forward, lilith, darius, and apprentice bard coven head raine decide to send amity and hunter to hexside.
chaos ensues.
if I keep this I swear I'll draw it pink promise.

That art of Alador holding Jasper like a puppy made me think:
AU where Alador became the Abomination Coven Head and Jasper's apprentice, and Jasper loaned him the artificial staff to study so he could help with maintenance and repair, and Alador kicked Belos' ass after Jasper's suspicious death (or even just a very suspicious injury), because Belos was unprepared for a witch who could also use/counter technology-enhanced magic.
Lmfaoooo oh my god. Belos has got Alador working on his magic tech stuff and like. Alador HAS magic unlike Belos and he can tell from the work... whoever built this can't use magic, the way it's constructed is for someone who can't use magic. He's not going to say anything, he doesn't want to fucking die. He's a go with the flow kinda guy. Keep your head down. And then there's jasper who is excitable and friendly and annoying and eager to please. And then you know. Jasper dies under suspicious circumstances. And oh, oh, maybe Belos has him fix jaspers busted staff but he can tell... using magic .. the last spells it cast were... and something just tips him off... he can tell... and He Knows. He's not like jasper or Darius though, he's not fast or impulsive. He takes his time.
I imagine he says nothing. Keeps his head down. Does his job. For years, until the moments right when he reveals he's actually sabotaged literally every component and magical construct in the entire castle and army and he basically just blows everything up in one go and has Belos attacked by his own shit ejajfnfn
Quiet, vicious vengeance.

The shadow house au ideas
Part 1 - ???
I saw @levshany art of this owl house au and I had to share some ideas I had.
鈥he islands are ruled by Empress Clawthorne, a direct descendant of the savior of the islands. She is responsible for taking care of the titan egg and making sure it hatches. The titan himself is said to have given her powers of extinct beasts.
鈥he legend of the islands tells how a witch named Evelyn Clawthorne and her husband Caleb defeated a human who came to destroy the islands and banished him, since then his descendants have ruled the islands.
鈥ecause of that legend, the people of the islands do not like humans, they do not hate them, but they do not trust them.
鈥ne day a human named Luz arrives on the islands through God knows where, she allies herself with Philip Wittebane (aka: Belos the Human), and they became the main target of the royal guard.
That's a bit of the main story, now some ideas with the main characters:
鈥he collector does not remember his life before being locked up, but he feels that there was something before. In its shadow form its most powerful attack is to cause flashes of light, it is not used to damage but it is used to distract.
鈥ilith is still the head of the empress's coven, only now she has much more authority since she belongs to the royal family.
鈥hilip continues sucking souls from palismans, they are the equivalent of Eda's elixirs. That and other things make him have a much worse criminal record than Eda in canon.
鈥ikimora is Philip's apprentice with Luz, she was a rebellious witch before she met him and lives with him as homies.
鈥 plan to swap other members of the hexcuard like Gus and Willow with Boscha and Matt, but for now I don't have any plots for them.
That is all for now! I have many other ideas in my head but I'll write them down later.

Lilith's classes
Odalia used everything in her power to get Amity a place under a Coven Head's training. Though she would've preferred someone else, Lilith was the Emperor's Coven leader. Personal history or not, that was the best for the family. However, her ideas of rigid, ruthless training were a bit off...
Lilith's training was indeed tough, but when Amity got admitted, she was just a five-year-old and way under the age limit. The Head Witch knew she couldn't just use the same methods. So she got in contact with Bump to talk with some of Hexside's teachers and learn a bit from them.
Clawthorne's plan was to follow the school's curriculum, focusing on really reinforcing the basics so the child could build upon it steadily and faster, later. So, while Odalia hoped they were forcing her daughter to sit still and recite the Magic Law, something else was going on... Something like:
Nursery Rhymes! Lilith knew a thousand Nursery Rhymes that taught kids the basics of magic, history, and science. She picked the ones she considered best and would always sing them with Amity at the beginning of class, teaching her the hand gestures and what they meant. It was heartwarming to see the child learning the lyrics and following her excitedly. Lilith was scared she would be too embarrassed to do the dances and that Amity wouldn't join her, but the little girl watched her teacher with her eyes glistening and a big smile.
Drawing and painting! Lilith would bring images of the Isles for them to draw and color. She first focused on the whole Titan, then on specific parts of their body to help Amity get a better understanding of their geography and Titan biology. She also knew, as a future Abomination Coven member, Amity needed to develop geometrical and observation skills to correctly summon and build golems that looked the way she wanted them to look. It was a challenge, and most of the little girl's first drawings were an abstract mess. Lilith toned down the requirements and asked Amity to focus on basic shapes first. This helped the child greatly and soon she memorized the looks of many geographical spaces and demons.
Physical games! Body Awareness and Balance were the only subjects outside of the common school curriculum that Lilith taught, going hard on extra teachings. As someone who never had this type of specialized learning in her youth and had to teach herself later on to survive the Coven's training, she intended to make sure every student of hers would be prepared, and Amity was the first one that would grow up with such nurturing. There were plenty of physical exercises whose intent was to strengthen the witches' bodies and prepare them to endure magical attacks from others and themselves. Specific knowledge ensured that the individual could work smarter with her stamina, reserving as much of it as possible to keep their bile sack from exhausting itself. For most people, it would've seen like senseless training, but every crazy-looking exercise had a point. Amity loved the time they spend doing the exercises and was the only moment she was actually allowed to roll on the grass and be under the sun. Odalia wasn't happy when she found her child dirty and pink from the heat, but Lilith did notice an increase in Ames' immunological system after they began 'playing' outside.

Abomination Apprentice Willow Idea
(Could be Willow as Main Character AU, could be woven into canon for like, 2 episodes max, could be tweaked into a Medieval AU, the concept is flexible, it鈥檚 just the interactions and feelings I want to address here. Free to utilize in your fanworks~)
TLDR; Darius Deamonne takes Willow as an apprentice and juggles defending her from Terra as well as realizing he鈥檚 been a bit of a Bastard.
Outline under the cut
Willow sucks at Abominations, she鈥檚 been put into that track because he father could tutor her, but it鈥檚 not working out. Her failure is legendary enough that it catches the eye of the Emperor鈥檚 Coven. And as a final resort, she鈥檚 taken out of her home and placed as the direct apprentice of Darius Deamonne, the Abomination Coven Head.
Willow has to live at the Castle, giving her opportunities to speak with the Coven Scouts and Hunter. (this can be the part where you can add huntlow friendship and/or ship tease.)聽
Darius was resistant to having an apprentice. Mainly because how his last apprenticeship ended with the Golden Guard. But, either as a punishment or a way to control him, he has to train Willow enough for her to pass a test.
Awkward bonding ensues, simply because Darius has no idea how to parent and Willow is still struggling with severe self esteem issues. But they鈥檙e getting there slowly. Darius doesn鈥檛 sugarcoat like her parents do, he expects some kind of progress, even if it鈥檚 not her magic that improves. Willow has a great work ethic and a nasty bite in her replies that makes Darius think there鈥檚 hope.
And then Willow shows off her talent with plant magic. Before bonding, Darius wouldn鈥檛 have flinched to hand her off to Terra Snapdragon. But he knows that even with her newfound confidence, Terra would grind her into mulch.
So it鈥檚 now a race, trying to teach her just enough to let her pass a test and preventing her from showing off in front of Terra. And the test?
Maybe fighting Amity, the Hexside Abomination Head of Class. Maybe just making an Abomination travel through the forest to deliver ingredients from one side to the other.
Let鈥檚 hope they can survive.

Eda still has her curse, but she was able to make peace with the Owl Beast some time after she escaped.

I'm so tired. TMA Owl House au.
Okay. Instead of covers there's gods, so everyone's more like warlocks. Head of the Isles, Jonah Magnus, unified all witches centuries ago by placing a system so that everyone can only make a deal with one god, having a ceremony on their 16th birthday and training for all their childhood to be suitable for said god.
Since then the Isles have been ruled by a Head, all of whom are to make pacts with the Eye. Eyepocolapse rules as well, so all the warlocks are under the authority of the Eye. Every other God also has a representative acolyte, like a coven head.
Jon the human getting transported to the demon realm as a child, chasing a weird spider. So he's almost like Anne from Amphibia, he's just hiding out in the woods for a few years until local magicless witch finds him.
Said magicless witch is Georgie, cursed as a child to be barred away from ever making a pact by her inability to feel fear. Her and the Admiral, her weirdly powerful cat, take Jon in and they all immediately become friends.
The Institute is where most warlocks train to take in their god. And within the institute is the Archives, a program supervised by Elias (current Head of the Isles) himself, where Avatar Representatives take on an apprentice.
There's Tim who learns under Nikola Orsinov. His brother used to be her apprentice as well, but died soon after making his pact with the Stranger. Tim plans to make his pact with the same god, seeing if he can bargain for his brother back and maybe learn to harness Stranger magic (one of the most difficult pacts). And maybe kill Nikola, who is rumored to be the one to take Danny's life.
There's Sasha under Micheal Distortion, who has had a knack for the Spiral since she was a baby. But she hates it, the attention from teachers and from her god hates the illogicalness she causes and the need to tear her friends (even if Micheal says they are all to be fake) from the in side out with lies. She's here to tear the Spiral apart from the seams, mapping it out and finding patterns.
And then Martin of the Lonely under Peter Lukas. He was taken in as a boy to be part of the Lonely, and has gotten quite good at banishing people to his domain, summoning and disappearing into the fog, and finding lonely people to leech on, even without a pact yet. The latter ability is the reason he's friends with Tim and Sasha, the only two apprentices in the whole place that don't want anything to do with their god.
Let's get into the Avatar Representatives!
Enrique MacMillan of the Buried, obsessed with finding the supposed "hidden treasure" on the Isles. He takes no apprentices.
John Amherst of the Corruption, able to make a person fatally ill with a touch (though they don't die unless he says so) or with any object he inscribes his magic into. His apprentice is Jane Prentiss, who let's bugs live under her skin and seems... borderline enamored with her god.
Maxwell Rayner of the Dark and his assistant/field agent/dragon Manuela Domiguez. The Dark has the youngest apprentice, Callum Brodie, of the whole Archive, a prodigy with the ability to spin tales of monsters and make them true, as long as a person is thinking of them in the dark. Rayner is pretty aloof, so Manuela usually attends to meetings and Callum's studies.
Agnes Montague of the Desolation, one of the newest Avatars, yet to take an apprentice. Not much is seen of her, but other people with the same god tend to not like her much, calling her a spoiled brat or a child prot茅g茅. Rumor is she burnt her mentor to a crisp while she was an apprentice, earning her the Representative position.
Oliver Banks of the End, taking over after Nathaniel Thorp went missing. He is generally outlasted by the other Representatives, not exactly well liked for his tendency to give prophesies about their deaths at the staff parties.
Jared Hopworth of the Flesh, earning the Representative position after Angela had been fully consumed by her god. He's rather experimental in his practices, and will try magic out on himself.
Trevor Herbert of the Hunt, never really seen at the Archive. Or at announcements or really by the Head at all, actually. Elias probably prefers that, as Trevor does not act like he's of as much importance as he is. Him and his apprentice, Julia Montauk, are usually on excursions to kill monsters or discovering new Hunt magic practices.
Peter Lukas of the Lonely, coming from a long line of Lonely Reps. He never planned to take an apprentice, but Elias forced him to make use of Martin, the boy he took in years ago, and mold him into a Rep so he doesn't become too powerful without someone to control him.
Newest Rep, Melanie King of the Slaughter, gaining her position after Alfred Grifter had quit. Certainly angry enough to be a Slaughter Avatar, she is reluctant to take the job after she said the Slaughter "betrayed her" by mutilating her leg and leaving her blind. But Elias let's her keep the magic and gives her the position, mostly if not to keep an eye on her.
Micheal Distortion of the Spiral, formerly Micheal Shelley before a higher up tasked him with studying the god. His apprentice, Sasha James, enacts as his assistant, telling her to make friends to lie to and to study her innate Spiral magic.
Nikola Orsinov of the Stranger, not much is known about her, funny enough. Her apprentice is Tim Stoker, motivated by his brother and his brother's death to be part of this god.
Simon Fairchild of the Vast has taken many apprentices over the years, claiming them to be part of his family. His most recent apprentice is Mike Crew.
The Web of course has a Rep, even an apprentice of Annabelle Cane, but no one knows who they are. The only thing Annabelle ever publicly refers to him as is Mr. Spider. Even Elias doesn't elaborate on the mystery to the public.
And of course Getrude Robinson of the Eye, having not taken an apprentice since her last one, Gerard Keay, was taken by Elias to be his personal guard. But after Jon the human is caught sneaking into the Archive in his own burning curiosity, Elias forces her to take him as her apprentice, much to her dismay.
But a human? Oh ho HO. Those guys are terrified of everything, and soon all the gods want the human to be theirs, even if he's under Elias's and Gertrude's direct protection.
And even when Georgie offers him to stay with her, a safe haven where Elias won't find him, Jon refuses. There's just... so many new things to discover. He wants to figure out who Elias is, why Gerard works with him, who the Web rep is, what Gertrude's deal is... he can't just leave when there's so much to uncover.
Plus, Tim and Sasha are right. The best way to take down the operation is from the inside. He keeps in contact with Georgie, consigning to study in the Archive, where everyone is trying to kidnap/convince/possess/kill onto their side, to help them take it down.

Currently making an Owl House AU where Emperor Belos has all the Coven Heads pick out apprentice to train in their covens for The Day of Unity.
Right now, I have two ideas for the endgame of Belos plan:
Option One: The Coven Students will be taking the leaders place at the center of the Draining Spell.
Option Two: As per his deal, in exchange for the Draining Spell, Belos will find The Collector the perfect playmates for all of eternity.
